FLAGSTAFF, Ariz., (UPI) —  Trouble with Air Force Two forced Vice President Joe Biden to return to Washington on an alternate plane after spending the weekend in Arizona, his office said.

Biden flew back Washington leaving Air Force Two on the tarmac at Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, The Arizona Republic reported.

Biden’s office told the Republic a post-flight inspection revealed the plane’s engine’s “ingested some debris.”

Biden was in the state with his two sons and son-in-law at the invitation of Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain to speak at the McCain Institute’s annual Sedona Forum.
