Any idiot with half a brain can see that the individual mandate is unconstitutional. Hell, screw the constitution, its against any kind of logical sanity or reason. With the indivdual mandate, big pharma can ultimately force you to give them money (by purchasing THEIR health “insurance”) at gunpoint (eventually the FBI will go WACO on your a#$#$ if you refuse the law). This is far worse than a government enforced monopoly such as the East India Trading Company which sparked the first revolution, where AT LEAST you can choose to not drink the tea… No this time around, we have to pay for and drink the tea or ultiamtely die if we refuse.

If this individual mandate passes, then the government can truly do anything. ANYTHING. By logical extension, if the government can force you to buy a product or service, then it can also tell you what NOT to buy or what company to shun by law if this company falls afoul of the federal behemeth…

The law has been passed and various parts of it are in place now. As far as I know NOT ONE private insurance company has gone out of business and the capacity for the market to allow more private insurance companies is unchanged.

Why do we always have to wait years for the destruction before Liberals face the facts? I kid, because I’ve known few Liberals who will throw in the towel even after the destruction. Witness the Liberal Hero Franklin Roosevelt. After ten years of Depression Liberals still idolized the man.

DaveH, as a rule, ‘libs’ seem to feel a contractual sense of obligation to their icons. Ten years ‘after’ is one thing. FDR has been dead since ’45, and yet his braindead sheep still stand in line like robots.
Then again, when many New Dealers were in love with Italian Fascism and Russian Communism AND FDR, it’s only fitting that a lib psychosis would perpetuate itself. Now we have an FDR II, and they’re lining up again to worship their new icon – regardless of how much he hates America, freedom and the Constitution. A raging and seemingly contagious mental disorder affects a certain segment of the populace. I often wonder if there is a cure for it.

I have a gut feeling that this law will be upheld and we will have to turn to the States for a solution. Nullify! The Courts are part of the Federal government…why would they want to decrease their power when thay can come up with a BS reason not to. :)

    • DaveH

Because in this case even ignorant people can figure out there’s something wrong with our system if the court let’s the Personal Mandate stand.

  • william harris

if we the people dont start dismantleing this totalitarion govt. weare toast!

  • CP

If congress would look, there is an easy way around THIS mandate. You simply tell the states that you will cut some of their medicaid money if they don’t pass a mandatory insurance act that meets federal standards. Don’t believe me? Take a look at how seat belt laws were jammed through, or how sex offender reporting is being jammed and rejammed down the state’s throats, with the US supreme court even deciding that “the people’s need to know” overrides the constitutional prohibition against any ex-post facto act.

    • DaveH

Yep. First the Federal Government takes our money, then they offer some of it back with strings attached. You gotta love it. NOT!

  • Cawmun Cents

What we have here is a catch 22.
If the statute stays in place then we have a gun to our heads, over providing the financial aspect of this hedonistic indulgence.
However if it should be repealed, then you wont be able to attribute that amount of the debt(a couple of trillion bucks)to the current administration.
It is a win,win situation for the socialists and their agenda.
So you see America, you have been set up to be duped no matter what you do to try and stop them.
Next….the stripping of the First and Second amendments in the Bill of Rights.

    Have a lovely day.

John Cole is a moron’s moron. As for the Supreme Court, the only ‘justice’ who needs to feel singled out and ridiculed is the most recent hack appointed by the Anointed Social Engineer. Kagan was no minor player in creating Obummer’s Frankenstein, immoral
and utterly UNCONSTITUTIONAL healthcare scam. If she doesn’t feel like a career criminal who’s been given a license to destroy a nation from within, she SHOULD feel that way.
By definition, a justice who should be required to recuse himself/herself is a justice who is “bought and paid for” by someone who needs an easy vote when it’s ‘convenient.’ Any such ‘justice’ should be run out of Washington and made the object of a shoot-on-sight bounty.
Any ‘citizen’ who doesn’t understand what is so unconstitutional about this farce is someone who should be required to be ‘fixed’ so he/she can’t further pollute the gene pool.
This not a child’s game, but it does seem almost impossible to be rid of childish, retarded, slavery-loving slime who can’t wait to collapse the nation so they can claim to start ‘re-building’ it.

    • Dave

As for recusing themselves, how did you forget that Thomas has a lot of money to make off this judgement…..this court is heavily tipped one way …I agree it is a true ripoff of democracy the way the judicial system is bought and paid for.
Now let’s talk about the Newtisms pervasive in the debates. He was part of the problem as speaker of the house fli-flopping to his hearts desire and feeding the previous administration the lies we have yet to find a fix for.

      • s c

d, stick to the topic. Didn’t your grade school teachers stress that? If you want to play the side-issue game, let’s talk about Queen Nancy Pelosi and her husband getting filthy rich via unnecessary wars that Obummer “spposedly” hated BUT can’t find a way to end.
Let’s talk about Obummer and the head of GE and how GE managed to NOT pay taxes. Let’s talk about Nevada’s warped gift to Washington [Reid] amd HOW and WHY he won’t let proposed JOB legislation get off his desk so Obummer will be FORCED to be serious about the creation of NEW JOBS.
Let’s talk about WHY Obummer hasn’t got the guts to close the borders and look at illegals as CRIMINALS who must be jailed and deported. Let’s talk about Obummer’s suck-ups not cleaning up all the trash that illegals bring into America.
Screw the side-issues, d. Utopians can’t handle the easy stuff. Stick to the topic.
