ACLU Challenges FBI On Race, Ethnic Data Collection

August 5, 2010 by

ACLU challenges FBI on race, ethnic data collection Amid allegations that the new Arizona immigration law may lead to racial profiling, a civil rights organization has requested records in a separate case that may yet influence the ongoing legal challenges to Arizona’s bill.

In late July The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to release documents related to its alleged collection of race and ethnic information in 29 states and the District of Columbia.

The organization believes that such measures—which are utilized in order to profile neighborhoods for criminal law enforcement or domestic intelligence purposes—may amount to racial profiling and are therefore unconstitutional.

“The FBI’s mapping of communities and businesses based on race and ethnicity, as well as its ability to target communities for investigation based on supposed racial and ethnic behaviors, raises serious civil liberties concerns," said Michael German, ACLU policy counsel who is also a former FBI agent.

The ACLU affiliate offices filed the request under the Freedom of Information Act, saying the public had the right to know about any race- or ethnicity-based law enforcement and intelligence programs.ADNFCR-1961-ID-19918255-ADNFCR

If a person involved in criminal activity just happens not to be Caucasian, is looking into their activity racial or just a criminal investigation? Being a minority doesn’t allow a person to be a criminal, all things being equal.

    • Al Sieber

It seems like it does, that minorities get off a lot easier especially, the politicans and it’s our fault they commited the crime.

      • Al Sieber

Thats all the ACLU protects is minorities.

        • L.D.

Not totally true. Their caseload streches from Corporate to poor levels…depending on whom is offending whom. example…the GLBT has corporate board and Homeschooling is privately owned but poor.

          • Al Sieber

            Got a link? for proof.

    • refuse2lose

Funny how the ACLU is supposed to be a non-partisan,taxpayer funded group but they are constantly trumpeting liberal views and endorsing anti-American ideas. They need to be thrown into the ever growing trash heap along with the federal reserve.

      • Cheryl

I feel our government should cut out all taxpayer funding to all non-profit groups. There is no telling how much taxpayers’ money could be saved if such a move was taken. Most such groups are liberal leaning and don’t represent those they claim to.

      • 45caliber

Actually, the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) was established to insure the government didn’t undermine the rights in the Constitution. Isn’t it funny how much it has changed?

        • Al Sieber

I think its funded by George Soros, along with Acorn, La Raza, Move On. Org., etc. etc….

      • Conservatives United

If you check the background of the ACLU, you will find that it founder was a COMMUNIST. He even admited this fact in the early 1950′s. So the fact that that organiztion is Anti-American is not suprise.

      • Smilee

Sorry, The ACLU gets no funding from the taxpayers and many attorneys donate their time to the cases they pursue

        • http://gunner689 gunner689

There should be a bounty on their heads.

  • Jim H.

If a FBI agent of Hispanic, African, or Asian descent is investigating a Caucasian involved in criminal activity, is it just a criminal investigation or is it racism?

    • Al Sieber

      That’s a thought.

    • Michael J.

No sense trying to make sense from an organization that makes no sense at all. The ACLU is ideology driven… Not moraly driven.

      • TIME

Good post and 100% on target!

    • L.D.

Is a criminal Informant (C.I.) an employee of the FBI and allowed to claim to be an Agent? NOT! the C.I. is contract labor and paid much like one…upon results when approved. The IRS has former contract CPA’s claiming that they are former IRS, but truthfully they just worked FOR the IRS. This is like one claiming to be in the Army means they were a General Officer. Not funny!

    • 45caliber

One of the biggest laughs I ever got was when three blacks were arrested. They told the judge that they were arrested ONLY because the officer involved was racist. The judge, in concern, called in the officer – who was blacker than they were. When he confronted the three criminals about it, they told him that the policeman was actually white on the inside since he was a cop. A REAL black man would never have tried to arrest them. Therefore he was racist.

For some reason the judge didn’t buy their argument.

  • JC

Speaking of data collection…you know those airport scanners?
    Check this out.

    • 45caliber

England cities have cameras almost everywhere. They use them to solve crimes – but they also use them to keep an eye on anyone they wish to study.

Several American cities are now planning to install them for the same reasons.

      • JC

They’ve solved very few crimes. It’s all about surveillance of people in general.

        • American Citizen

If people know they’re there, how many crimes were deterred? That’s what we don’t know.

    • Al Sieber

JC, thanks for the link, that was a eye opener.

      • JC

A friend of mine flies a lot. He refuses to go through a scanner so they subject him to very thorough searches, He says they try and make you feel like a criminal for not submitting to scanning. BUT! He also says that when asked why he would not go through if he has nothing to hide, he shouts “Because having nothing to hide does NOT diminish ny right to privacy as an AMERICAN CITIZEN”
I’m proud of my friend :)

  • Norm D,

This race issue has become rediculous, any persons skin color is really meaningless and shallow, it should only be of any interest as to what the contents of what their minds contain irrespective of skin color. This is the true measure of value of a persons worth…..

    • 45caliber

You are quite right. However, if someone commits a crime it is really of aid to the officer hunting him to know what his skin color might be.

  • Robin from Arcadia, IN

A crime is a crime, and the color of one’s skin should not be a factor. The ACLU is totally screwed up. If they think minorities have too many people in prison, perhaps they need to figure out motivates a person to commit crime and direct their efforts in that direction instead of comparing one race to another.

    • rose tripp

as a correction officer in a maximun security prison, two characteristics were evident in all inmates regardless of their race. number one was their lack of respect for authority. number two was that they thought the world owed them a living. color didn’t make a difference.

      • slickporsche

Sounds to me like only liberals are in prison. Not surprising at all.

        • 45caliber

Most of them are. Why do you think the liberals hate prisons so much?

Incidently, ever wonder where the style of baggy pants and clothing came from? Prisons. Most clothing there is “one size fits all”. And they are more comfortable than tight clothing and allow you to hide all sorts of things inside them.

    • http://gunner689 gunner689

Blacks comprise approx. 15% of the population. Black also commit approx. 80% of violent crimes, with the majority of the victims being black. Is there any wonder that they have such a large population in prison ? If Jesse Jackson and his ilk truly cared about the health and saftey of his people there would be a dope dealer hanging from every lamp post in every city in this country. The ACLU is nothing more than a subversive organization whose goal is to destroy traditional America, and they’re doing a good job of it.

      • mickey

Jesse Jackson now wants to replace blacks with hispanics. Same tactics going on–promise free welfare and you will be just fine. The blacks that didn’t buy into this became successful, and for the rest? Well, Jackson really liked subsistent living for his fellow man, now didn’t he? The hispanics are just a new group to oppress–by their own.

And BTW, why didn’t the ACLU mention the Somalies? The ones Holder says haven’t “assimilated” enough and are prime targets for another organization providing basic needs–Al Quaida. Who knew the ACLU forgot to profile these people?

  • M.L.

    • http://yahoo RobertG

I don’t know if you all heard this one, but a secret memo from the chief of naval operarions has recently been leaked. It is discussing the fast tracking of minorities over white males. Promotion is a big thing, and I for one, as a retired Navy man, would find it totally disgusting to serve UNDER an inferior person.

      • s c

RobertG, if you want the scoop on fast-tracking in the military, ask an ex-military recruiter who goes back to Vietnam days. Being ‘ethnic’ helped some people take many short cuts, and it’s still going on now. We’ll probably never know, but I suspect Herr Obummer had access to the civilian version (basic education through Haavid), or else he wouldn’t be where he is now.
In the military, call it ‘ethnic advantage.’ In the civilian world, call it affirmative action and social promotion vased on white guilt.

  • jomama

EVERY crime is a HATE CRIME!!!! If you really think about it – there is HATE put into EVERY crime – even the smallest of crimes. Therefore – EVERY CRIME IS A HATE CRIME!!! They don’t HAVE to be “racially motivated”. Eveyone thinks that a “hate crime” MUST HAVE to do with race. It does NOT.

    • TIME

      Very good point!

    • marvin

jomama if two or three whites beat up a black or hispanic there is a 90% chance they will be charged with a hate crime, turn that around blacks or hispanic beat a white man there is a 99% chance it will be nothing more then assault charges it is the law like it or not

    • Bob Plugh

Every crime is a hate crime?

So, when I travel at 1 mph over the speel limit I’m committing a hate crime?

If I steal a candy bar from a supermarket, I’m committing a hate crime?

If I get in a fight because someone started hitting me and *I* get arrested, I’m committing a hate crime?

Yea – right – you need to learn more about logic and logical fallacies.

      • 45caliber

If you get into a fight because someone hit you, then yes, you are committing a hate crime. After all, you wouldn’t have hit back if you really loved him, now would you?

But I’m convinced that not all hate is really bad.

      • JC

Speeding at 1mph over the limit is a misdemeanor, not a crime.

        • Smilee

WOW, breaking any law, felony, gross misdemeanor or misdemeanor are all crimes only different levels of criminality.

    • 45caliber

I can’t see why we should even have laws against hate. After all, how do you really prove how a person feels? And hate is in way of thinking, so you are making thought illegal – which REALLY can open up a can of worms!

Actually it is useless as well. In EVERY case I’ve heard them try to use it as an offense, they would have gotten the same conviction and same sentence if it hadn’t been brought up. In most cases it is brought up it is a murder crime – and the sentence is execution. So what use is it?

  • J.M.R.

the ACLU needs to be buried under the biggest building we can find. its time to dismantle these commie groups also cut tax payer money to them. they are the most racist group in the world. impeach impeach the a&&h-l- in D.C.

  • Bruce

Has the ACLU made the same request of the DOJ in regards to their alleged policy of not prosecuting blacks in issues against whites?

  • By George

Amendment IV: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seisures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause….etc.etc. That’s pretty plain and suggest to me that “profiling” for illigals from south of the border, is in fact a legitimate definition of “probable cause.” Arpio is correct. Go get ‘em!

    • 45caliber

Non-profiling at air ports is really ridiculous. Babies and elderly women don’t go around trying to hyjack and blow up planes! Further, it isn’t hard to avoid a search. Just watch those going through the line for awhile first. Generally the guards pull every fifth person (or some other number) to prove they aren’t profiling. Just make sure you don’t fall into that spot and you can walk through without a problem.

    • Smilee

WRONG!! probable cause is the belief that a crime probably has been committed and that requires some factual evidence not just being a member of certain race etc!!

    • 45caliber

Wait until after the election to consider it. The Liberals are really looking for an excuse to declare martial law and ban elections for the time being. That would give them a good excuse. Let’s see if we can’t un-elect most of them first.

  • Jerry D

Actually, profiling (not for racial purposes but for law enforcement purposes) is an excellent tool. As late as the 80′s, there were some interesting studies. Euro-Americans make up approximately 60 percent of the population of America, while African-Americans make up about 15 percent or so. Yet, approximately 50 percent of the crimes against Euro-Americans were committed by African Americans, while only about 10 percent of the crimes against African Americans were committed by Euro-Americans. Now, the reason has nothing to do with the color of their skin, but everything to do with the culture in which they are raised. They are raised to believe that they have been oppressed by the evil white man and that they have the right to take back what has been taken from them. It’s not racial, but cultural.

    • TheWindrunner

All very true, but stated facts aside, African heritage if one chooses to call it that, is inherently violent. Just as most animals and all other species aren’t dangerous to be around there are some that will kill. Why would this not also hold true for two legged creatures? You’ll find that most police officers are killed by blacks in situations that seem senseless to all but the mindless among us. Look at the country of origin of the perpetrator then trace them back to where their ancestors came from, and the question of “how could someone do this” becomes evident.

    • Bob Plugh

I absolutely agree… Look at the profiles of all the people that have flown planes into buildings. Let’s see, I make them out as all young, middle eastern of Arab descent – that’s ALL of them – 100%. So, do you think we should start targeting 23 year old mothers with 2 young children for crimes involving things like this? The real problem is that Obuma Hussein probably thinks so.

I agree with the other posters – we need to IMPEACH OBUMA HUSSEIN and get him the h*ll out of the WH. Same goes for Rahm Emanuel – he has no place being where he is.

      • Granny Mae

I agree that Obama should be impeached but not untill we can make sure of who is in line to take over. As long as Pelosi is in line next to the vice pres. Then I think we need to wait to get all the brush growing around the tree cleared out before we take down the big tree ! Remember when you are cutting down a tree you don’t start at the top. You clear the brush around the tree, then you cut down the tree and trim all the branches and then you get a lot of lumber. After you cut up the lumber then you dig around the tree and cut out the roots so the tree doesn’t grow back ! If you don’t do it right you may bring the tree down on the house !

    • 45caliber

Their choice is also economic. A working white man generally has more money than a black man on welfare.

  • airangel

I am so sick of these law suits against AZ!!! I would think a former FBI agent is divulging known facts working for ACLU now and that to me seems to be a conflict of interest. I mean seriously where does this stop?…gangs, drug houses, human traffic smuggling is mostly hispanics…I’m sorry but when is someone going to step up and arrest those like ACLU and counter sue them! They are impeding investigations and the gathering of crucial evidence to incarcerate these law breakers? Profile away I say and get these criminals out of our country! I know for a fact they profile white groups with meth labs where I work…crime is crime regardless of skin color and the fact that most of Arizona is Hispanic makes these law suits STUPID!

    • slickporsche

It stops when we pick up our arms and organize a huge well run malitia. STop being a bunch of pussies and lets get er done.

      • Granny Mae

Walk softly and carry a big stick !!!

  • Loraine Isenberger

Having taught every race and almost every ethnic group let me tell you that they all will cheat on a test and try to get away with the easiest way of passing-if given a chance. Well, not the Asians. They seem to hold education in esteem. Pity our American counterparts don’t feel the same way. I have been called every name in the book, in a variety of languages-and they all mean the same thing. Call it racist-anything can be called racist-my carpeting for instance- Get a life folks.

    • slickporsche

It would take 100+ blacks to equal one asian. Not much better for the Latinos. The black and the latinos, aren’t worth pile of 3dollar bills. They have caused this country nothing but trouble. We need to repeal the civil rights bill that was passed in the 60′s I think it was. It has been a downhill slide ever since for this country.

      • 45caliber

I got a laugh a few years ago. Some obscure agency of the government, concerned about minority rights, discovered that the asians tended to get MUCH better grades than other minority groups. The other groups were insisting that they were getting bad grades because the white group was forcing them to do it. The asians weren’t.

So the agency tried to get the asians to quit making good grades on the grounds that this embarrassed the other groups and it wasn’t “fair” to them.

        • Granny Mae

No way ! Are you serious? Did that really happen? Holy Crow !

          • 45caliber

Yes, it really happened. I thought it was funny.

  • Ron

It is time for the ACLU to be a thing of the Past! All they do is feed off the whoa as me. Time to be what each one of us are. Not what some fly bye,who see away to cause a name for them selves, by bring up the race card. A crimmial is no matter how you paint it is a CRIMMIAL

  • James A Graham

We rarely get a chance to see another country’s editorial about the USA

Read this excerpt from a Romanian Newspaper. The article was written by Mr. Cornel Nistorescu and published under the title ‘C’ntarea Americii, meaning ‘Ode To America ‘) in the Romanian newspaper Evenimentulzilei ‘The Daily Event’ or ‘News of the Day’.

~ An Ode to America ~

Why are Americans so united? They would not resemble one another even if you painted them all one color! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations and religious beliefs.

On 9/11, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart. Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the Army, or the Secret Service that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts. Nobody rushed out onto the streets nearby to gape about.

Instead the Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand.

After the first moments of panic , they raised their flag over the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a government official or the president was passing. On every occasion, they started singing: ‘God Bless America !’

I watched the live broadcast and rerun after rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who gave his life fighting with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that could have killed other hundreds or thousands of people.

How on earth were they able to respond united as one human being? Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put into collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit, which no money can buy. What on earth can unites the Americans in such way? Their land? Their history? Their economic Power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases with the risk of sounding commonplace, I thought things over, I reached but only one conclusion… Only freedom can work such miracles.

    Cornel Nistorescu

(This deserves to be passed around the Internet forever.) It took a person on the outside – looking in – to see what we take for granted!

    • Granny Mae

How wonderful of you to share that with all of us. Thank You. I think I needed that. It does really describe an American!

  • http://Verizon Bud G.

The American Civil Liberties Union’s name itself is a misrepresentation as they support only Socialist and left leaning causes knowing full well it goes against the grain of most Americans.

The reading of the Arizona law is straightforward and clearly states profiling would not be permitted. The Obama Administration and the ACLU know this. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with race but voters for the liberal left to keep them in power and cheap labor for big business.
That is why we have cities protecting illegals and the Administration preventing ICE from taking any action against illegal immigrants.

    • mickey

But is it the same for the Somalis? Holder doesn’t consider that profiling, apparently.

  • Charles

I’m retired from the Postal Service and racial abd sexual profilinf has been the norm since 1984 with them—If you are not BLACK or FEMALE your chances of promotion are minimal no matter wgat your performance level. My postmaster R– Ga—–n made that abundantly clear as soon as he took over. He had been briefed before he left Atlanta as to how things were to be. “Sexual harrassment” was used as a weapon by preditory women even though they were the instigators themselves and relationships with supervisors and other bosses were common in the 80′s and 90′s. I’ve been retired for sometime now but I don’t believe such a deeply instituted system has changed much. Also, they were very anti=Veteran, going so far as to make it hard for veterans to get off work (protected by law)to go for VA appointments tostate “that a man who couldn’t get out of serving deserved to have been wounded “. Internal investigations were handled by cronies and union reps were threatened with transfers and firing themselves if they got involved.
There’s more but not for now.

    • 45caliber

None of that surprises me a bit. Liberals believe that all vets are frustrated murderers who joined simply to get a chance to kill someone. They cannot understand feelings of patriotism since they have none themselves. And if anyone does join just to kill someone, they have no sympathy for the person if they are injured or killed. Further, since they are prospective criminals, they shouldn’t have any better opportunity than the liberals do for the same jobs.

      • JC

        Exactly, it’s just so pathetic.

  • Marilyn

Count the many ways legal Americans, ALL RACES, must show their ID in America. Do we bitch about it or do we think we are glad that “someone” is alert and helping to protect our identity? ACLU evidently evidently is not concerned with protecting American Citizens. They jump on any case that may reward them in return. But, ACLU is sucking up to Obama and his administration so what else can we expect! ACLU has turned into nothing but Ambulance Chasers!

    • 45caliber

In just one instance, the police ALWAYS ask for ID when they stop you on the road or anywhere else. The only problem is that the liberals are doing their best to insure any illgals can get such ID without proving they are legal.

  • Robert Palmer Smith

May I quote from the DARKEST TRUTHS OF BLACK GOLD?
“The American Civil Liberties Union. Even the name is a contradiction of terms. Nothing they stand for has any relationship to being civil or respectful of your fellow ciizens’ rights or feelings.”

    • Cheryl

All left leaning groups’ names are a contradiction of terms. Look at Planned Parenthood. They have parenthood in their name but push abortions.

  • Boanerges

America’s Communist Litigation Union?, uh, Always Causing Legal Usurpation?
Anyway, let’s file a Class-Action lawsuit against this administration for “Criminal Negligence” for delaying help with the oil spill and for not protecting our borders, and for being TREASONOUS.

    • mickey

Yes, and just where are those Class A action lawyers? They seem to appear after each new drug is introduced but remarkably silent when it comes to opposing the criminals in politics.

  • Boanerges

    On second thought, let’s let the FBI know we will back them up when they refuse to give up these files. It’s none of the ACLU’s business;
what the FBI is doing is for national defense.

  • chuck b

the aclu is a communist based orginization. they have been undermining our laws and using the civil rights agenda to destroy this country. we did not elect the aclu to be the u.s. police force. everyone has a right to an attorney if you can afford it or not, so who needs the aclu.they have one goal, destroy our republic and use our money to do so. outlaw the aclu and the southern poverty law center, send them to israel or moscow.

  • Jsck Kinch(1uncle)

Profiling is as old as crime. Should be a crime not to profile. Black people per their percentage of the population are involved in crime more than other groups. Prisons are full of demos.Fight aclu.

  • patrick

most of you are idiots! why so much about Arizona and the alledged profiling? obammy and his crew are doing it every single day at every airport in America. get it , profile people going unto airplanes. and now today it comes out… the fed’s that have been profiling airline customers by the use of of EX-RAY machines, have been saving the close up and personal e-rays photos in their archives. who woulda thunk? now the gov’t perverts can jack0off looking at e-ray photos of all the young babes going through their e-ray machunes! but i spose their argument will be they are saving taxpayers money cuz they won’t have to subscribe to porn sites paid for by we the taxpayers?

    • Al Sieber

Hey Patrick, calling us idiots, makes you a racist.

  • http://gmail i41

It has become the norm for minorities to raise hell over even an immagined offense. I got passed over a postion as a supervisor, for a latino, even though every one who didn’t speak slang wetback spanish couldn’t understand him. Several doctors have told of minorities getting passed even when they failed tests and couldn’t do math to figure out med rates. Just look at the affernative action smucks in government today. When I worked with Ethopian, I couldn’t beleive the proper English he used, he told me everyone only speaks English and only in your homes is the native dialect used, he told me when he came to the USA he had trouble understand his black relatives bacause they sounded so ignorant, he was told he sounded to white. An ag company representive who lived in Ethopia for years, he said the schools only allow students to were white blouses or shirts and navy blue pants or skirts, the reason the code in schools, is to look professional and neat, not like you just fell off a gut wagon. He said coming back to the states, he couldn’t beleive how sloppy and unkempt American are. Or as the Ethopian say don’t look niggardly when doing a job, you represent yourself. Even though this was an Ag commidity company This Ethopian fired people on the spot for droopy drawer, long unkempt hair, when he dismissed 4 lads for dread locks or braids thatwere sitcking out, they whined it was discrimatory, he told him it would fly because he was blacker and they were to light to be called black. He was a very good busines man and went back after 4 years to use the skills he learned in feed the business to help his country. The ACLU is just another social group of liberal lawyers impeding the country, now the pukes are trying to stop drone attacks on terrorists. a little tresonist.

    • Bob Plugh

I have to agree. The few times I have dealt with Ethiopians I was very much impressed not only at their command of the English language, which is better than most US natives, but also of their demeanor, desire to perform well at their job, and overall attitude.

Now, how is it that one country, in the midst of such turmoil can do so well yet others fail to move forward and, in fact, regress as time marches on?

      • mickey

It isn’t just them. Lots of foreigners speak English better than we do. They are also hard workers and very smart. I’ve been in schools with Germans, French, Greeks, and more and I am ashamed of some of my lazy habits.

The ACLU promoting hispanics is only to continue the same as they did with black–you are dumb, ignorant and can never get ahead. Therefore, you must rise up against whites and destroy public property in the name of “social justice”.

Isn’t ironic these same hispanics were concidered white in Texas but chose to be a “brown minority”? Sort of tells you where they stand. How much money is ACLU getting out of this?

Since the a@@holes creating litigation unnecessarily are taking sides with the alleged ethnic minorities again along with the southern poverty??? law center — The SPLC is not poor – especially off of our tax dollars and the ACLU does not represent the mainstream american civil liberties view point. Both organizations file crap law suits to generate hours logged for their associate legal staff so they can back charge for their time — It’s only a money scheme, nothing to do with moral objectivity and ethics (not ethnics). — Most of Arizona residents already appear to be of hispanic descent – so how is it possible to racially profile in an area where over half of the daily business is conducted with the alleged ethnic victims?? THE NEW LAW WOULD ONLY MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE POLICE TO CHECK THE PERPETRATORS IMMIGRATION STATUS. This law was not designed to give the local police something else to do – it was designed to let the officers get rid of people willing to engage in criminal activity. When they get stopped or arrested for whatever, it allowed the perps to be easily prosecuted for immigration violations as well as their original violation.

Couldn’t the president be impeached?.. He is aiding the enemy drug runners and murderers that are at war with our citizens. They have killed and injured our border patrol officers and a farmer to have better access to our country and put out hits on officers of the law. We are at war. They are taking over Mexico, and Calderon is worried that his government will be overthrown. Our president doesn’t care that they will be taking over our country, so he is helping them, and even wants to make them US citizens so that they can openly run drugs and money across borders without being stopped. Seems to me that he is aiding the enemy in their efforts. I would consider Obama a traitor, and I think that would be impeachable. What do you all think?

    • James

Doris, Article II, Section 4 reads: “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdeameanors.”

But he is only doing those things because he LOVES us and wants the BEST for us!

I have said the same thing for ever so long ! This pres. has done one thing after another to reduce this country to nothing in the eyes of the rest of the world and that to my way of thinking is creating danger to this country and everyone in it. The boarder problem is a major one. With all the known criminal activities coming back and forth and the people on this side being killed and then this President not protecting us or our property, to me is a prime example of dereliction of his duty to protect us and this country. Most all his actions everyday are telling us he could care less about us infidels ! Treason is when you aid the enemy and he has in my opinion done just that but proving it in court may just be a different story. I sure would like to see someone do just that ! When the law says that our borders should be protected and illegals are criminals and it is the federal governments duty to take care of such things and they don’t instead they take border states to court for doing their job then I say that is a wrong stance for a pres. He should be protecting all the states and not going against those states for trying to take care of a problem that they should never have had to concern themselves with in the first place. Since it is the feds. job where were they? These states have been begging for federal help for ever so long and they got nothing. Instead our tax money is going for Barak to party and vacation and Michelle to vacation in Spain, and of course they can bill us for it because she will be shaking hands with the heads of state while she is there! Oh well, what will be will be !

Unfortuantely treason became passe when Hanoi Jane Fonda did it.

      • Granny Mae

You are so right ! I can’t stand that -itch ! She should have gone to jail as soon as she set foot back in this country !

  • Laura Ruby

I agree that Mr. Obama has been aiding and abetting the enemy and has failed spectacularly when it comes to the first presidential responsibility: protecting the country? Is this an impeachable offense? I can’t imagine that it isn’t. Problem is we don’t have the majority in the house to bring impeachment proceedings although that may change after the Nov. elections. The senate though will still be a problem as the may not convict him. It is unfortunate that there is no constitutional provision for the people taking direct action, other than hounding our representatives. Also there is the race card which will be played the second anyone makes a serious move to oust him. Hate crimes legislation is nothing more than censorship. Just who is it that decides what a hate crime is? It is arbitrary, anti-first amendment and extremely dangerous. It is an attempt to control and reshape our thoughts. Soon writing will be censored. Liberals don’t want free speech because they are incapable of making rational arguments to win people over. But we won’t be silenced and we won’t go down without a fight.

  • James

As to the subject matter, is it not a given that all those who cross our southern border illegally are Hispanics? There are some White areas in Mexico, but they are retired Americans. If there are 15 to 20 million Mexicans here illegally, which is more than the Mexicans who are here legally, is it not reasonable to suspect that any Hispanic one encounters here is here illegally? The ACLU’s lawsuit is silly. Aren’t all Whites in the Middle East assumed to be malfactors? Doesn’t Israel consider all Palestinians and Iranians to be evil?

    • Al Sieber

Yeah, James, theres a lot of “White People” sneaking into this country from Mexico. and if there was, and they went after them instead, would that be racial profiling?

  • 45caliber

I guess I missed something. I never knew that the Constitution had an amendment making it illegal to use race for profiling. After all, if you are looking for some criminal, wouldn’t you want to know what race he was? Or what color his skin was? It might help you find him.

    • Smilee

      Read the 14th amendment

      • 45caliber

It doesn’t say a thing about profiling.

  • Claire

Good grief. The ACLU again. I am so tired of their shenanigans. “Anything to create more garbage.” That should be their slogan. Another disgusting organization that thrives on turmoil with one goal in mind–trouble for everyone. I rue the day they ever came into being.

  • http://gmail i41

There isn’t a problem with profiling. When looking for rustlereven to day the first thing is did they use horses, and when they rterleived their bladders did they stand up or squat. If they stood up you would be looking for a male, if you seen cigerette butts, a smoker, if they were hand rolled or custom made,it is all about profiling. We know and mexicans have a procivity to commit more crimes crimes against property and each other and whites have a prtocivity of monetary crimes. Look at the population in jails, by percentages of populations and what colors are incarcerated. Also don’t give us the b–l s–t about lack of fathers and no money crap. A little more hard core incareration, like rock breaking and road ditch clean up and weed pulling and sleeping out doors on the ground sheet. Probably cut down on the faggot creation problem! The ACLU has always more dreamed up anti USA than is allowed.

  • American Citizen

    ACLU=Anti Civil Liberties Union.

There should be no doubt in the minds of the American people, that the ACLU, for all intense and purposes, has a morally perverted agenda that seeks to redefine the landscape of this great nation, and eventually destroy the traditions and institutions were hold as sacred.Secular hedonism and moral relativism are their creed.

Cheryl: You are absolutely correct about Planned Parenthood and they have several abortion clinics and now a large hospital in Texas whose main goal seems to be more about doing abortions than planned parenthood.

The Secretary of Health, Karen Sebelius made sure that Planned Parenthood have sufficient funds because she is also pro abortion.

  • http://gunner689 gunner689

As to ACLU attorneys and psycophants; there should be a bounty on their heads.

We should do as the British legal system does. In frivilios lawsuits the looser pays both sides legal expenses.
