A Preview Of Life Under Full-Blown Tyranny

A Preview Of Life Under Full-Blown Tyranny

Imagine a world in which the decisions you make for your children are irrelevant. It’s a world in which the state, rather than the parents, determines what your child must eat for lunch.

Parents in Hoke County, N.C., are experiencing it firsthand, according to Civitas Institute. At West Hoke Elementary School, preschoolers are being forced to supplement their homemade lunches with meals provided by their school because a government inspector has determined the lunches they bring from home don’t meet Federal guidelines.

One mother, who asked not to be identified, told Civitas that she made her daughter a lunch that contained a turkey and cheese sandwich, a banana, apple juice and potato chips (that’s reasonably healthful, if you leave out the chips). A state inspector assessing the pre-K program at the school said the girl also needed a vegetable, so the inspector ordered a full school lunch tray for her. So while the 4-year-old was still allowed to eat her home lunch, she was forced to take a helping of processed, chemical-laden chicken nuggets, dead milk, a fruit and a vegetable to supplement her sack lunch.

According to Civitas:

The government inspector was from the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised program at the FPG Child Development Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The program gives schools a grade based on standards that include USDA (Department of Agriculture) meal guidelines enforced by the N.C. Division of Early Childhood Development.

The nutrition standards for pre-K lunch require milk, two servings of fruit or vegetable, bread or grains and a meat or meat alternative. The school didn’t receive a high grade from the January assessment because the home-made lunches didn’t meet those guidelines.

The mother said she sent a note to her child’s teacher asking that her child not be required to eat anything that doesn’t come out of her lunch box. But the school continues to require her to take a school meal, even after she complained to cafeteria workers.

She then sent a statement to State Representative G.L. Pridgen (R-Robeson) detailing her complaint. Pridgen says he was shocked to hear it. Pridgen has since learned this is a nationwide practice based on Federal guidelines, according to Civitas.

Contrary to popular belief, the USDA is not interested the health of Americans. If it were, it wouldn’t be making war on raw milk sellers and organic food producers and the natural supplement industry, nor would it allow Monsanto free reign to contaminate crops with genetically modified organisms or food processors like General Mills to make specious claims on the health benefits of their foods.

This is very scary. It appears that people and children belong to the government and not to themselves. There no longer is any privacy of your own body (TSA). Now parents do not have say as to what a child eats. A stranger should not be giving a child anything to eat. What if that child had an allergy to the food? This is an example of an overbearing ,ever extending government.Next is invasion of our privacy on the internet which has already started. The censorship, the biased reporting, the pushing of religion against it’s will.the gagging of citizens in the name of political correctness, and on it goes. Why don’t people see the power grab of the government on it’s citizens?

    • FreedomFighter

You should be scared, what they have planned is something out of a bad sciFi movie about an evil alien planet where mankind are slaves:

You are a slave, your children are slaves, soon you will be chipped like cattle, and slaughtered just like cattle. These monsters want a 90% reduction in human population.

Maybe our alien ancestors will intervene. I will have to post the link later for the movie about the structures on the moon that NASA smudges out of the pictures we are allowed to see.

K, I know its sounds insane, put here is a piece of the Obama Care MANDATE:

This new law requires an RFID chip implanted in all of us. This chip will not only contain your personal information with tracking capability but it will also be linked to your bank account. And get this, Page 1004 of the new law (dictating the timing of this chip), reads, and I quote: “Not later than 36 months after the date of the enactment”. It is now the law of the land that by March 23rd 2013 we will all be required to have an RFID chip underneath our skin and this chip will be link to our bank accounts as well as have our personal records and tracking capability built into it.

In just a minute I’m going to show you the black and white of the law itself and you can see it with your own eyes and wonder why an event of this magnitude which is nothing less than seismic in nature is met with little more than silence in the Christian community.

Is it now starting to dawn on you just where exactly we are in prophecy? I’ll ask that question again in a minute and follow up on it, but now I want to show you the law itself. I’ve downloaded a PDF copy of HR3200 from the government’s website so what I’m about to show you is from the bill itself its nothing that I’ve written. You can access it all and see it all for yourself straight from the source itself.

        H.R. 3200 section 2521, Pg. 1001, paragraph 1.
The Secretary shall establish a national medical device registry (in this subsection referred to as the ‘registry’) to facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and outcomes data on each device that— ‘‘is or has been used in or on a patient; ‘‘and is— ‘‘a class III device; or ‘‘a class II device that is implantable, life-supporting, or life-sustaining.”

What exactly is a class II device that is implantable? As you saw earlier, it is the device approved by the FDA in 2004.

Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act:…

A class II implantable device is an “implantable radio frequency transponder system for patient identification and health information.” The purpose of a class II device is to collect data in medical patients such as “claims data, patient survey data, standardized analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of data from disparate data environments, electronic health records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the Secretary.”

        Full Artical:

I have not fully investigated this and from reading the actual Bill, it is hard to really tell, but here it is for you above…

That is a good movie and yes, there has been a tremendous amount of disinformation fed out to the public concerning that topic area. But you know as well as I that the scoff barons will come down on you like a tsunami ten fold larger than Japans’. The same applies to anyone that see’s a UFO – they’re crazy as hell, right? Typical response is it not?

      • Sirian

This is far from insane, it is simply fact and no one in general is aware of it at all. I read an article a few days ago that pointed out the very same. What worries me even more though is the inter-relationship this, RFID chips, may have with Agenda 21.

I think most of us see it, we are just overcome with all the stupidity that is being pushed upon us by our elected leaders, who seem to forget that they are supposed to be working for us, not against us. The sad part is, if we elect others they very soon join the same bunch that is trying to drown us in idiot laws. Like the law that the congress had to pass “before they could read it”. The perpetrator’s that do things like that ought be banned from this country, and those idiots who vote for anything they have not read and understood need to be banned from ever being a “lawmaker”.

      • Joe H

There too many with rose colored glasses on that think our government would NEVER do us wrong!!! with all the talk about the “contrails” lately, I was going through the channels the other day and low and behold there is a movie called TOXIC SKIES! It was very thought provoking and runs quite closely to all I have read about the poison being dumped from our skies. If you get the chance watch it!!

    • Bob

Well said I can’t understand why at least the people at that school aren’t protesting and freaking out. Most of our politicians should be prosecuted for treason. Government gone wild at some point will create a backlash, but how long will it take?

      • Mairin

Government here in Australia following the same ‘instruction manual’. Our only hope is that there will be a collapse and a new election and the conservative opposition gets in.. The leader is a proper Christian. Your only hope there in the U.S.A. is to get behind the ‘proper Christian’ you have running now for GOP, Rick Santorum and oust BHO from the White House. God Bless America.

  • Karolyn

On the morning Charlotte news it was reported that the only thing the child was told to do was to add milk to her lunch. Another report said she was only told to eat 3 chicken nuggets. Is this just another false flag attempt to rile people up? Who is lying? Can we believe what anybody says about anything? Yes, I know according to many, the media is controlled. However, I think we all need to explore more than one avenue when a story piques our interest. I am no fan of government control and was appalled when I initially heard the story two days ago, but before knee-jerk reactions are applied, I think it is important to get all sides of a story first, and I am going to try to do that from now on.

    • CJ

And another person thinks they will get a proper action by going back to the corrupt government who put the policy in place in the first place. Take matters into your own hands, or you will be controlled. Complaining to the wolf about how the hens are being guarded will NEVER get results. Take personal responsibility or accept what you are dealt.

      • Mikeles

Another form of tyranny can be found in MI under the GOP governor and legislature. Now the governor/legislature can send a person to a city and if that person decides that the city is not being run correctly, they can remove the responsibility of running the city and take control of it him/herself. It doesn’t have to be a travesty like the Bell CA fiasco, but just an opinion from a governor or legislature appointed STATE employee. No recall election by the citizens of the city, just bypass all of that trivia and let the STATE (doesn’t that sound like the good ol’ USSR?) make it run better.

        Go GOP!

    • Cliffystones

“the only thing the child was told to do was to add milk to her lunch. Another report said she was only told to eat 3 chicken nuggets.”

Ohhh! Geee! And here I was worried! Thanks for clearing that up Karolyn. I was really worried, but now I see it’s all right. No problem, the kids were just forced to eat or drink a couple of items instead of a whole meal. That makes it perfectly AOK for us! Just interfere and trample on our rights ‘a little bit”, it’s cool. We’re just over reacting and getting our underpants in a wad. Those government nutrition inspectors know what’s best for our kids, we should just let them do as they see fit and not raise a fuss.

People like you are truly pathetic.

      • bpost

@Cliffy: U’re missing the point! The news was inconsistent; Karolyn questions the facts. She makes a valid observation. The current occupier of the White House is a “community organizer” very interested in “civil disobedience” & these reports may in fact be false.

      • Karolyn

My point, cliffy,(which you would understand had you read what I wrote) is that there is a lot of misinformation that is spread in order to create anger. Of course, it is understandable that people need to be awakened to much of what is going on that they don’t know. However, the knee-jerk response sometimes backfires. Case in point is the story from the other day with the headline about the government closing down an Amish farm, when, in fact, it was the farmer who closed down his farm do to aggravation by the FDA – Mismanagement of words, if you will, to incite more reaction.

      • Lcar

It is not the story! It is the policy that is outrageous. I do not see you guys denying the policy??? Cliffystones is right!

      • Bob

      • Joe H

I’ve read at least three of them and listened to about ten of them and the majority point to the fact that the childs lunch was taken from her and nuggets substituted!! now the turkey breast is a lot less FAT and SATURATED fat, and have you looked at the sodium level in the usual chicken nugget? This is bull to the highest power!!

      • Rick

First of all you are right. It’s the policy of the governement intervining in the parent’s choice of their children’s food. They are making generalizations on the food kids should eat. There are several problems in this as someone pointed out earlier food alergies. Second, the healthest food available is not heralthy if no one will eat it. Any food the kid will eat is bettere than none. The school lunch program started to asure that all school aged kids had at least one decent meal. Let’s execpt the fact that it’s based as much on cost as anything else, that being saidthe fact that they gave the kid chicken nuggets prove it’s not the quality but that the kids eat what this power hungry goverment lacky thinks they should. If I was this kids mother I would tell her to not open your lunch box for anyone. and eat only whatr I send what are they going to do shove it down the kid’s throat?

    • Lcar

Yes, I also followed other sources and got more detail. However, the point is not the details, it is the policy. Why is it the school’s responsibility to inspect home lunches? I thought school’s responsibility was to educate? Why is there a whole layer of beauracrats meddling in parent’s choice?
It is people with your reaction, Karolyn, that is dangerous. Tyranny continues because you believe every instance of over-reaction should be dismissed. This is exactly what the government wants from its citizen. The federal government is out of control, but we all dismiss the locals. I imagine some do-gooder on the school board (probably by suggestion from the state or acedemia) to improve their score said let’s inspect lunch boxes!
What should of happened was the push back on why are government agents scoring home lunches! Why are government agents empowered to trump the local direction of school activities that are NOT part of educating children? Why are parent choice being dismissed? If a parent wants to send chops and soda for a kids lunch, it is not the governments job to meddle! Dam liberals (in both parties) think they can fix the world with governance!

      • Lcar

“chips and soda” although a set of chops would be good as well!

      • Karolyn

I’d consider chips and soda child abuse!

      • Lcar

Karolyn thanks for proving my point about you being dangerous to liberty. Hope your halo doesn’t fall off!

      • Karolyn

Well, then don’t complain about the healthcare system, which is in such a shambles because people don’t take care of their own bodies, ie. chips and soda. Hey, if somebody wants to abuse their child like that, it’s OK – right? It’s OK if that child develops childhood obesity, diabetes and the government has to pay for their medical care, right? Either that, or the child can just rot and die, since you don’t want the gov. to interfere – right? Well then, why stop there. Why not let parents beat their child unmercifully and not step in to stop it and arrest them. The gov. has no business there either right? Hey, if parents want to keep the kid locked up in a cage and feed it bread and water, that’s their right too, right? The child has rights too; and unfortunately, too many are at the mercy of parents who don’t know how to take care of themselves let alone children.

      • Lcar

Karolyn, by your logic you support sterilization to prevent bad parents? You rely on hyperbole and emotions to try and carry your point! This is why you are dangerous to liberty and freedoms. But since you seem to be proclaiming diety (all-knowing) I guess you can extrapolate and redefine child abuse to fit your worldview! Then impose your ideas upon the rest of us. Good luck with that.

      • Karolyn

Funny, we were just talking about a bi-polar woman who keeps having babies and having them taken away by DSS . She is not capable of taking care of them. In this instance, the government agency has no way of changing the situation. It is a slippery slope. Should she be forced to get psychiatric help? to take her medication? to use birth control? to be sterilized? The answers are not so easy to come by. What is right? She is being essentially used by a man and doesn’t know any better, so more babies are being born and forced into the system. There is something to be said for forced birth control. The answers are not as cut and dried as you think they are.

      • Lcar

So are you projecting or just trying to sensationalize? You see in your all-knowing rant you projected child abuse from a suggestion of none of your business if I send my kid to school with a “chips and soda”. The very thing you complained to all of us here about, “but before knee-jerk reactions are applied, I think it is important to get all sides of a story first, and I am going to try to do that from now on.”
The question is not about the truth in the story. It is about how did this policy get implemented to begin with. Nobody cares until it is their kid! That is BS and we need to stand up and take back the system. It starts with the constitution! Imposing a policy upon the majority for the failure of the minority is not a solution!

Lcar, interesting point about a “do-gooder shool board member” that your GUESSED did something without having proof of who that person is! I’m from North Carolina and we have quite a few very conservative people in that part of the state! So the Hoke County school board might just have people on that board MORE conservatiVe THAN you who are closer to the situation than you.. But since you are always right what difference would that make! Right??

      • Bob

Karolyn you are one very scary person hope I never come in contact with you. Are you actually “Big Sis.”

      • 2¢ worth…

“Dam liberals (in both parties) think they can fix the world with governance!”…

I am so glad you included (in both parties) in your scenario Lcar as you are absolutely correct.. What the rednecks don’t understand is that both dems and pubs are citizens just like us.. Both receive information from their perspective parties that gives them information that furthers THEIR agenda and both are cut off from a reality that neither can recognize because the libs who dwell and feed on the bottom keep them both barefoot and ignorant. One then accuses the other of un-American actions as one thinks the other voted in their leader just to destroy our Nation when in fact if the other had been chosen the same accusation would have been uttered. Obama has been a total disappointment to our hopes for a better America and it was not because the dems wanted it that way bu because, in the former administration, they wanted change and believed a golden tongued fraud’s promises.. Now we’re at another impasse.. This ‘leader’ is a total disappointment and what is our reaction? Elect ANOTHER pub who’s promising change. Can you not see that both are of the same coin and both have these libs who want it their way.. For ONCE let’s not play their game, choosing the lesser of two evils.. We all know Ron Paul isn’t a pub nor is he a dem, but a voice that adheres to the constitution and thus is worlds apart from either party.. If he becomes president, he will use his rep station but not exclusively as he may lean dem as well (according to the constitutional agenda) He has not once ‘promised’ us change (no president should ever assume they can over-ride a congress) what he has said was to the best of his ability, he will uphold the constitution and through it (and congress) will help heal this Country.. Now you can whine about his (logical) foreign policy (but look! look what your current leaders are wanting to do with our military at this very moment) R.P. NEVER said he was going to dissolve our military by 80% but close down those excess bases that’s doing nothing but squeeze more taxes from the citizens that benefit other countries (as well as the current g’ments own interests).. We need to wake up to the fact that our political system is congested with thieves and usurpers intent on self-profit, and destroy this ever revolving circle of dem/pub control.. Only Ron Paul is being honest and only WE can make a true difference. R.P 2012..!!

Nation full of obese kids….. something has to be done – admittedly this child’s lunch was perfectly fine (minus the crisps) but there are so many kids going to school without lunch or (on the other end of the spectrum) enough calories to feed an adult for 2 days in one meal.

What do you expect to be done? Ignore the problem and hope it goes away while neglecting the health of these children?

      • Joe H

karolyn calls giving a child chips and soda with her lunch child abuse yet supports abortion!!! Such conflicts of observations!!!! She supports the ULTIMATE child abuse!!

    • Dolor

I have heard this on all channels on tv and read it in our newspapers, does the government control everything, or just what you say?

      • Marty S.

They are attempting to control everything AND what we say both the libs and neocons. What a crock of crap IMHO.

    • Cliffystones

My apologies Karolyn. I was under the impression that you somehow thought that the type and quantity of food that the kids were being forced to eat made a difference.

You are absolutely correct. The media is expert at skewing the facts to get the “story” they want. I started seeing examples of this in the late 1980s after gathering some life experience. Especially the practice of being selective with facts, omitting some and repeating others. All in the attempt to sway the readers/viewers to a particular point of view.

Whether or not you’re religious, the commandment about “bearing false witness” needs to be followed. Especially if we believe we are right and want others to take us seriously.

      • carrobin

“News” reports from any source, whether right wing or left wing or center, should be read or listened to with a bit of skepticism. Few news items are adequately covered in modern media (sorry to say that, being a journalism grad, but it’s true).

      • Tony

And there it is on display: destroying a people’s freedom by seizing their children. There’s two issues here: One, the obvious fact that strangers from the government have no business whatsoever telling anybody what to eat; Two, that the same strangers are intruding between the child and her parents, insinuating into her mind the idea that her parents don’t know much, and the government knows better. It is wholly disgusting.

On obesity: In the 50′s, everybody ate from the four major food groups: sugar, starch, fat, and salt. Kids weren’t fat. Why not? They were outside all the time. They did chores. They played ball. That’s the difference, right there. So — er — if you really want kids who aren’t fat, why the heck are you cooping them up indoors all the time? Why do you make them ride buses for two hours a day? Why isn’t somebody at home making a reasonably healthy meal for breakfast and supper? You know why — because you’ve blown the family to smithereens with your sexual revolution, and you want constant oversight over the kids, because there’s nobody at home in the neighborhood, and because you want to turn their minds to your beliefs and not their parents’.

This reply is for any troll on this site.

      • Buster the Anatolian

Exactly right Tony. The “experts” say kids do not get enough exercise then they turn around and cut the amount of exercise time in the schools so they can have more time for their “feel good, touchie feelie”, classes.

      • Bob

Tony you are so right we were never inside when I was a kid unless sick or doing homework! They don’t even have PE class in most shools now!

Karolyn, you also left out that they’re now saying the child must have been confused. Force feeding a child crap from the cafeteria is not the decision a 4-year old would make. The school is backtracking from what they did. You’re excessively blind to all that is happening in our world today.

    • PrincessPhilly

This is in reply to your misinformation on the Obama care. I hope you are close to the age for the death committee to say you get to die. You think obamacare is going to solve our problems with healthcare – it will be a third world healthcare and no care for when you are over 65, So to a brain dead liberal as yourself hope you enjoy the death committee.

      • Karolyn

We all gotta die! If people learned to take better care of themselves, we wouldn’t have the healthcare problem we currently have. I’m 65 and in excellent health. If I got terminal cancer, I’d want to go asap.

When did chicken nuggets become food?

    • Ted Crawford

Better question; Were they ever really chicken?

      • Capt Gene

With regards to “chicken nuggets”, men’s health magazine (lower case intentional), recently reported they contain 51% chicken (thus allowing them to be called “chicken”) and 49% of God only knows what. That in itself is scary enough. For those who miss the point of this story, REGARDLESS who reports and/or slants it, what business is it of the government, federal, state, county, city or whatever to “inspect” a child’s lunch for its “nutritional value”? For those of us in and around our 60’s, how did we survive all these years on what our Mom’s made for us for lunch when we were in school? How did we survive sports and childhood without the “nutrition Geheime Staatspolizei” monitoring our every move? What parents need to do is demand the school boards either eject these “state nannies” or they will pull their kids out of school. In Wyoming our students are worth about $15,000 each to the school district. Start home schooling or use online academies and see how quickly this “barbara streisand” comes to a screaming halt.

      • Karolyn

        Tyson has all-natural chicken nuggets.

      • Capt Gene

This is for Karolyn, actually, but the link took me to you. Anyway, Karolyn, “McNuggets” ARE Tyson “chicken” nuggets and they are only half chicken; one reference puts chicken at 44%.

      • Karolyn

Capt. Gene – You obviously don’t do the shopping in your house. Tyson DOES make chicken nuggets (maybe they’re not called “nuggets”) that are all natural! I know, because I don’t buy any chicken with anything in it other than chicken.

      • Joe H

suggest you look a little closer at those labels. tyson adds water, and color to their chickens. they also use antibiotics and growth hormones as well!! If you look at their leg quarter family packs, you will also see little chunks of fat tossed in to bring it up to the five or ten pound mark without having to add meat!!

        • Karolyn

Yes, Joe, I am fully aware that unless one buys organic chicken, all factory farm-raised chickens contain antibiotics. However, Tyson’s natural chicken nuggets only contain water, salt and natural flavors. I just checked my package. I also do believe I had heard that either Perdue or Tyson was doing something about at least lessening the amount of abios given to their chickens. It’s just too bad organic chicken and other foods are so expensive.

It is change you can believe in. If you voted for the Kenyan, you are starting to see the result.

    • Lcar

I believe a lot of these local policies and regulations started at the local level as a overarching mandate from the federal government. So, yes I agree with your sentiment, but you should start watching your local boards and councils. For example, the local city council wants to limit public input to 3 minutes per person, sign up 15 minutes before the meeting starts, and only allow 30 minutes total discussion. And these are supposed to be conservative people with at least 2 members claiming to be Tea Party!
Just because they get uncomfortable defending their leadership choices, they figure they can ease the pain by squelching discussion! This is how these policies (like the lunch box inspection) get ingrained and never reversed!

I think the mother should put a note in her child’s lunch that says:

        4th Amendment:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated …

This is a prime example of the slow but steady movement towards communism. It’s raising it’s head out of the mist so much more so, is it not? With so many socialist/Marxists in power positions within our government – from the oval office down – we have to finally wake up and make sure that we “clean house” this coming November. Otherwise we shall have to bid the wonders of America farewell.

Response to Karolyn- Civitas is a credible source and, frankly, the State has no business discussing the nutritional adequacy of a 4 year old’s meal with that child. If the child initiated a concern about its meal; perhaps some food item was spoiled, the school could intervene and report the incident to the parent(s).
Otherwise-STAY OUT OF OUR CHILDREN’S LUNCH BOX. Do we have to list all the sensible ways to promote healthy diet and exercise that do not infringe on Parent’s and Children’s individual rights?
This is another expensive out-of-control overreach. Has it not occurred to anyone that the school system is being used to promote activity beyond its’ authority and this is probably unconstitutional? “The government inspector was from the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised program at the FPG Child Development Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.” Are these “lunch box police” also questioning the children about lunches and other meals they eat at home? How would they know if the child did not already have 2 servings of milk before school?
This is no “knee-jerk” reaction. Cancel this program immediately and encourage proper nutrition and exercise in other ways.

    • Karolyn

What “other ways” would you advise? Have the parents go to school to be educated on how to properly feed their children? Sounds like a good idea to me. The fact is most school systems feed children terrible foods. That was the focus of “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” a couple of years ago. He went around to school systems and helped to bring healthy food into the schools. The place in West Virginia he went to was known as the unhealthiest town in the country. When he was done, the kids were eating salad and fresh food. Of course, Los Angeles District Schools would not cooperate with him.

      • Grandpa Cecil

How about a hand-written note with some SUGGESTIONS (and reasons for them) placed in the students lunch box for the parent to read? Include a phone number for questions.

      • Marty S.

Karolyn, the backlash from this whole thing will ultimately affect BHO’s already scant chance of ever being re-elected. The people are getting fed up with the likes of you trying to tell us how to parent, how to pack a lunch and with the help of a bought off media how to think. I was actually happy when I heard about this because it will be a wake up call for those who sleep in the midst of the communist spring in this country.

      • Karolyn

ma will be re-elected if he runs against Romney or Santorum, especially Santorum, who has officially come out against contraception. What century is he from?

      • Lcar

Why do you make it so easy? He is Catholic! Why are you so ignorant?

      • Karolyn

Duh! Like you think I didn’t know that? I don’t care if he’s the Pope. Religious views have no place in politics. The whole contraception situation is laughable. Like Catholic women don’t use birth control! Give me a break! OMG, if we didn’t have birth control, we’d be in worse shape than we are now! The Catholic church needs to move into the 21st century. I was a Catholic and was indoctrinated pretty well, but I never followed all the rules and don’t know any other Catholics who have.

        • bpost

@Karolyn: Sorry, you have it backwards. Politics have no place in the church. I believe this administration is paving the way for the acceptance of Sharia ‘Law’ with this. Let Freedom Ring!

      • Lcar

Santorum has an absolute moral belief. It will carry into politics. Just as Obama’s indoctrination from Wright’s church is spilling over into his policies. However, you are either lieing or stupid, Santorum will ban the federal government from forcing other pay for contraceptives. If you need them, find your own insurance to cover it, but donot force my insurance to cover it and never force my religious organization (in all its ministries of helping others) to pay for it.
You again try to sensationalize by implying that ones beliefs disqualifies him from effectively being president. Based upon that criteria, I can think of many reasons why Obama should be disqualified!
The problem is you are a “free thinker”. That means, what you believe has to be the truth and what others believe must be “misguided” or “outdated”. You have no absolute so you can easyily dismiss others that are contrary. This is why you pop off about the story being misleading or inaccurate, it does not fit your moral relativism. This is why people like you are dangerous, you will re-elect based on rhetoric and not logical facts or absolute moral convictions. A 4 year old is supposed to eat what mom put in her lunch box! Trying to justify anything other than that is liberal BS and government over reach. Keep trying!

      • Lcar

In addition, Santorum did not say he was going to ban contraceptives. Again, lieing or misleading others!

      • Karolyn

Lcar – I never said he was! Just the fact that he is so prehistoric is enough for me. And I am sure people will vote for him just because he has 7 kids.

      • Vicki

        Karolyn says:

I don’t care if he’s the Pope. Religious views have no place in politics.

That is going to be rather hard to do since most people have religious views. Perhaps if you could get people whom you elect to follow their oath and support and defend the Constitution you would not have to worry so much about religious views in politics.

      • Karolyn

        Good point, Vicki.

    • nc

Bill, I’m 76 years old and taught “health” 50 years ago about “nutrition.” Do you know what percentage of children are obese today. Even to you people that see that every act of government as some sort of international conspiriacy could it not be possible that any of this situation is a good faith effort to keep out chiidrens butts from hanging out over their desk seats and to give the child a life free from having to sit down and rest every 10 yards because they are too “da**ed fat? Nope, it’s a conspiracy!! What a miserable life you must lead to see evil tyranny in every thing!
Remember!!!! Everything will be OK in the end! If it’s not OK then it’s not the end!

The Red Pill or the Blue Pill…choose wisely.

Nearly every county government has a membership in NACO…and it is not in your best interest. If you value private property and the right to own land, you should seriously take the Blue Pill. If you value sovereign beliefs that you know best what you should and can do for yourself, please get involved and spread the word. Since the 1970′s, this U.N. *agenda 21* pursuit of the destruction of this Republic has been at work. Some 50% of the agenda items have already been implemented.

All you have to do is write a note complaining that the forced lunch is a violation of your religious beliefs, that you bless the child’s lunch each day. That way your exception could be covered under freedom of religion. Remember that you do not have to tell them what your religion actually is. (Note: many religions and ethic groups have dietary requirements.) The only problem would be if you needed for the child to eat in the cafeteria on certain days

I wonder why it has been forgotten that President Obama, when he
first took office, said that he could not do all he wanted to do—–
such as bring change to Washington, etc.——-he could not do it
all alone. Why don’t we remember that? Why is it easier to blame
him for what we are too lazy to fight for? Isn’t it a fact that now more
and more people are protesting and openly defying what is found to be
unacceptable? How many of you who constantly complain about this
president are out there protesting and trying to be the change you so
adamantly are against? or is this just a protest against this president?
Did you forget that he inherited these problems? Do you forget that he
cannot know everything that goes on in your hometown? Do you forget
that a lot of what goes on is allowed because of your local representatives
who are getting paid to let things happen? Are you protesting Monsanto
and other corporate lobbyists who pay the congressmen to allow their
bogus food to be perpetuated on us and the children? Did you know that
the potato lobbyists were successful in insisting that the tomato sauce
on the pizza they insist be served at school be registered as a vegetable?
or that the french fries be so registered also? Did Obama designate this?
or was it the person you elected to represent you in Congress? Can you
find anywhere that the Presisdent was paid to legislate what your child
eats? Hasn’t Mrs. Obama tried to alert us to the importance of eating well?
Do you listen to what the President says and keep up with what his
original motives are? Or do you just find it more convenient to blame him
for everything because you really hate him because he’s perceived as
black? Where were you when the Iraq war was being rammed down our
throats and so many, many people were killed and maimed? Who will
you vote for locally? The one who tells you to hate Obama and yet
gets secret money to use against you—–or the one who shows you what
your true best interests are? Think outside the box. Do something besides
doing nothing but reacting and protecting those who truly use and despise you.
Perhaps the “change” is when we get up and make the change we long for.

    • Lcar

Boys and girls, the core issue in American non-education is Uncle Scam’s negation of the in loco parentis concept. Uncle Scam OWNS your kids. Uncle Scam INDOCTRINATES kids.
Uncle Scam is using your kids to marginalize PARENTS. When Uncle Scam has to justify spending and wasting billions and trillions of dollars on schools that have fewer and fewer students is the day when the Department of Educaton will be ABORTED.
SOLVE the problem. Take your kids OUT of Uncle Scam’s schools, and keep them OUT. Be a PARENT. We do not need “parents” who ‘raise’ kids the same way politicians ‘preserve, protect and defend’ the Constitution. SOLVE the problem.

Potatoes are definitely vegetables, but are not very healthy especially when fried. The fact that they are bad for you and increase your weight does not make them not vegetables. Vegetables are any edible part of a plant that is not the reproductive part of the plant (which is a fruit). A Potato is the root of the plant just like a carrot, turnip, or radish.

      • JimH

I look at the concept of genetically modifying food , to make it more healthy, as a promising technology. The same with vaccination ! BUT THAT’S NOT HAPPENING RIGHT NOW !!!

It’s to bad that Monsanto and other companies (DOW) are ABUSING GMO technology , producing “Round Up Ready” foods that increase PRODUCTION or TONNAGE of FOOD, but at the same time REDUCES IT’S QUALITY !!! GMO FOOD technology is being used in a wrong way !!

The same with vaccinations … contaminated vaccines with mercury-like chemicals and latent monkey viruses that can cause immediate brain damage – or viral activation later on in life causing cancer and neuron damage ! This is not the way to implement this technology !

Doesn’t anyone have any sense any more? That inspector should have asked the child what she had for breakfast and the supper the night before. Undoubtedly any mother who would pack such a decent lunch for a child would have included milk for breakfast but kept it out of the lunch lest it spoil. Most people don’t have vegetables for breakfast, but surely there would have been some for supper.

The inspector should have asked the lunch servers to give the child some carrots or celery sticks and a pint of milk. Before that, he might have determined whether the kid was allergic to milk. He might have noted the presence of cheese, which is after all, milk. He should have had the good sense not to force her to eat a whole extra lunch, especially not if she wanted her own lunch too. Personally, I would have put some lettuce or spinach in the sandwich and stuck in a few carrot sticks or celery or slices of green pepper.

“Federal Guidelines” could be helpful to mothers who haven’t a clue about balancing meals (or who maybe haven’t the wherewithal for buying good food or the know-how to prepare it) but they could also become a Procrustean bed on which personal needs are lopped off or racked and stretched. This hardly meets the human need of a relaxed, warm, happy environment at mealtimes.

To that inspector, I would as a judge sentence him to milk 50 cows a day by hand!

    • Bob Livingston

      Dear lowlywise,

It is not the job of any government functionary to inquire of a child what he or she might have eaten for breakfast or supper, nor is it the job of a government functionary to coerce a child to eat a carrot or spinach leaf or anything else on his or her sandwich. If that is what you would do, then you would make a fine brainless government bureaucrat.

      Best wishes,

I agree with Mr. Livingston that forcing children to supplement their lunches with food provided by the school is too much. However I disagree with it coming to the level of a preview of life under full blown tyranny.

    • Marty S.

So having the government decide for you what is OK to eat and micro managing you in this way is not tyranny? Wow, oh I get it you were educated by the government so it absolutely makes perfect sense to you. Too bad you can’t think for yourself there Jeremy, because after all you are likely controlled by the government as to what you ought to think as well. No harm in having them tell what to think right?

      • Capt Gene

Marty, The problem with today’s public education system is when I went through it we had the 10 Commandments on the wall and we started the everyday with the Pledge of Allegiance. We were also taught what the Constitution and Bill of Rights meant. Today we let illegals fly the mexican (lcit) flag ABOVE an upside down US Flag. Can you imagine that happening in the 1950’s? Then came the 60’s when the moral disintegration of America began in earnest. It may well be he is a product of today’s educational system.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Actually Marty I do think for myself. I don’t think its right for the government to intrude into our lives and tell us what to do. However I don’t see mandatory lunch supplements as a sign of tyrannical government intrusion. I see it as over the top. However when people object to tyranny they usually don’t mention over zealous efforts to improve the health of children as a chief grievance. I see this more as an over the top effort to do good by a well meaning but mistaken government rather than the nefarious scheme of a tyrannical one.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Actually Capt Gene I am a product of the public school system. Personally I think it is a good system. I learned the Pledge of Allegiance and learned about the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. We did not have the 10 commandments placed in the classroom but I don’t feel that detracted from the learning environment.

“could you imagine what would have happened in the fifties?” Probably like what happened in a sleepy little Texas town a few years past when a lone 6’4″ 260 pound man pulled a 14 inch hunting knife and cut the lanyard on a flagpole on a Mexican bar that had done that very thing. He threw the Mexican flag to the ground, folded the American flag, put it under his arm and DARED the patrons to do ANYTHING about it. By this time, he had seventeen other patriots backing him up! The solution is simple. Parents; remove your children from the system. They are not learning anything of any value. They are being indoctrinated to leftists agenda, and discouraged from critical thinking. If anything, they are told what to think, not, how to think! So removing them, is in essence, rescuing them. Since i removed my Son from the system two years ago, He has progressed in leaps and bounds! The education system is garbage, and hopelessly corrupt. Starve the system by removing the children, and let the whore die!

    • nc

Please Jay, start a movement for EVERYONE who thinks that the government ( state or federal) is not doing right by you or your children to withdraw them from school because since bush ruined the economy the states are not getting enough money to run the shool as they once did! So if you withdraw the kids that the government is ruining THEN those folks who have to work can send their children to the state schools where the class sizes are smaller and a better education is available to those folks who have to work and can’t afford private or home schooled education! WHAT A WONDERFUL JESTURE THAT WOULD BE BY THE MOSS BACK REPUBLICANS! You can repeat their education on the 18th century level and every one will be happier! Thanks again!!
Don’t be surprised if the conservative’s kids turn out as miserable and warped as the parents who are always smarter than the experts!

      • Jay

nc: Please Jay, start a movement for EVERYONE who thinks that the government ( state or federal) is not doing right by you or your children to withdraw them from school.

Jay: Please nc, i don’t have to start any such movement, as it has already started. Millions of Americans are presently home-schooling their children. So much for the myth; parents are to busy working to home-school their children!

nc: Because since bush ruined the economy the states are not getting enough money to run the schools as they once did!

Jay; Really nc? Did you think, or where you hoping i would accept your assertion at face value? The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB)[is a United States Act of Congress concerning the education of children in public schools. NCLB was originally proposed by the administration of George W. Bush immediately after he took office. The bill received overwhelming bipartisan support in Congress. NCLB supports standards-based education reform, which is based on the premise that setting high standards and establishing measurable goals can improve individual outcomes in education. The Act requires states to develop assessments in basic skills to be given to all students in certain grades, if those states are to receive federal funding for schools. The Act does not assert a national achievement standard; standards are set by each individual state.

Since enactment, Congress increased federal funding of education from $42.2 billion in 2001 to $54.4 billion in 2007. Funding tied to NCLB received a 40.4% increase from $17.4 billion in 2001 to $24.4 billion. The funding for reading quadrupled from $286 million in 2001 to $1.2 billion. Are you completely ignorant nc, or just a shameless liar?

nc: So if you withdraw the kids that the government is ruining THEN those folks who have to work can send their children to the state schools where the class sizes are smaller and a better education is available to those folks who have to work and can’t afford private or home schooled education!

Jay; As i stated above nc, home-schooling is not a insurmountable obstacle. Millions have done it, and millions are presently doing it, including myself. As i stated above, since i removed my Son from the education system, improvements have been remarkable. And to think that i am not a certified educator. Will wonders never cease?

nc: WHAT A WONDERFUL JESTURE THAT WOULD BE BY THE MOSS BACK REPUBLICANS! You can repeat their education on the 18th century level and every one will be happier! Thanks again!!
Don’t be surprised if the conservative’s kids turn out as miserable and warped as the parents who are always smarter than the experts!

Jay; Parents are, smarter then the experts, nc. After all, who better understands the child; the so-called experts, or the parent(s) of that child? Will home-schooled kids turn out miserable? I’ve yet to meet one, as i belong to one of the largest home-schooling associations. The only one that appears to me miserable about this whole issue, is you, nc! Ta ta for now…

The schools are getting more money per capita than at any time in history!! They do nothing to manage it! Cleveland schools in Cleveland Ohio, spend more per student than any other school in N.E. Ohio and their dropout rate is double that of any other school!! Get rid of all these “feel good ” Johnny has two dads classes and get back to Math, Science and READING!! hell, you got kids graduating right now that can’t figure ten% of any number without a calculator, for cripes sake!!! they are graduating reading at a fifth grade level!! Get real, throwing more good money after bad, is NOT the answer! Getting teachers that CAN TEACH IS!!! Gee, I forgot, their contract says you can’t fire them. they have to be able to sit in a room all day reading the newspaper, not seeing a student all day till their contract is up!!! What a bunch of BULL$HIT!!

What if the mother had sent a vegetarian lunch with the child and forced to eat meat?
I eat lots of meat myself, but I respect the right of people to be vegetarian.
They are teaching the children that the government can control what you eat.
The next step would be to come into homes and inspect what’s in your fridge.
The people doing the inspections probably rationalize what they are doing as what’s best for the children.
What’s best for the children is to raise them to be free!
That means not teaching them what to think, but how to think for themselves.
If they were really doing what’s best for the children, they would stop putting fluoride in the water (soon to be lithium and statin drugs as well), stop using genetically modified foods that can turn their digestive system into an insecticide factory, stop using high fructose corn syrup which doesn’t trigger the full response like real sugar does, stop using mono-sodium glutamate, and other excito-toxins in the food, stop using aluminum cook ware that is right next to lead in toxicity, stop forcing them to be vaccinated with sterilizing and neuro-toxins in them, and sexually over-educating them.

Sorry for the run-on sentence, but there isn’t a good place to stop!

That is all it would take. We need to get rid of all those corrupt people in D.C. And “We can do it!”

Someone mentioned “back in the 50′s” when kids were not overweight…
Back then there were no “free” lunches at school (I do remember that – I was there!!) Mama made the best lunch we could afford. After lunch was outside for all of us. Playground, ball, running – activity. There were at least 2 or 3 times a DAY were went outside for burning off steam or indoors for dance, music, more activity. Once home – we had to do our homework and chores. BUT – ya know – it was SAFE to be outside in our neighborhoods. All parents looked out for other kids as well as their own – in a good way. The key was CARING and RESPECT for each other. Now – all that is gone. Lack of respect both in and out of school – home – parks – anywhere – everywhere. We no longer look out for each other’s families – but sure do dote on causing heartache. Instead of lending a hand – we give “lip-service”. Instead of giving from our hearts, it’s from the government – out of our hands – which we sat back and “allowed” to happen because we got too dang lazy.
Now we have Ms. Obama preaching to already fit troops to eat healthy – and our own decisions on how we should feed our young – well she will decide that as well – until we stand up and put a stop to the government taking control of every aspect of our lives. First we must first re-gain control of our self-respect and lives…

2/18/12, Here’s lookin’ @ 2cnts, Disappointment w/BO&Co is an understatement & one of naivete. The Bum campaigned on screwing us like we’ve never been screwed before. So now it’s time to repair the damage.

Lemmings lined up in droves to pay homage to the new Hitler. Blacks,in particular, though seemingly fewer than in ’08, are still mentally crippled by the Obama machine. They take it personal when I attack & derail them & BO.

I’m confident BO will lose & his h/c mandate will be stricken by the Supreme Court.

Of course, not mentioned in the article are the primary mechanisms whereby the state gains access to your child.

First of all … you obtained a marriage license. A license is a permission to do something that you couldn’t otherwise do by right. Originally, it was an intermarriage license, because way back when churches would not marry people of different races. Since that time, most churches have been sucked into 501c(3) not for profit corporate status, and pastors go along to get along with the entire agenda, including conducting marriage ceremonies as agents of the state … as in “by the power vested in me by God and the State of Yourstate, I now pronounce you …”. Now even if you go along with driver’s licenses and socialist slavestate numbers, you STILL DO NOT NEED A MARRIAGE LICENSE. Why? A church can issue its own certificate of marriage that will suffice with DMV for name change on a driver’s license, and once done, socialistic insecurity will accept before and after driver’s licences for name change for a socialist slavestate number, and with that change, no problem filing as a couple with the Infernal Revenue Swindlers, and no problem with various employee benefits. A marriage license brings the state in as a third party to your contract, and gives the state rights over the fruits of that contract, i.e., your children.

Secondly … you registered your child’s birth. THAT IS TOTALLY VOLUNTARY, NO LAW REQUIRES THAT. The birth registration process creates a trust entity. The parents are grantors or trustors, the state becomes trustee, and the child is beneficiary. The name of the trust is YOUR CHILDS NAME in all uppercase. Whenever you see a name in this form on a driver’s license, birth certificate, court filing, etc. know that it is this trust entity that is being addressed and not a flesh and blood man, woman, or child.

Thirdly … you then enumerated the trust entity, i.e., you got your child a socialist slavestate number. That number becomes irrevocable as far as the system goes once a benefit is exercised, and that includes using that number for a tax writeoff. OBTAINING AN SSN FOR A CHILD IS TOTALLY VOLUNTARY, NO LAW REQUIRES THAT.

No marriage license for you, no birth registration, no socialist slavestate number, no problems with the state. Also, I reccommmend no vaccines and no circumutilation, let your son keep his pecker intact and let him keep mercury out of his system.

If any of the above keeps your kid out of the public fool system, so be it, its an improvement. Don’t abandon your children to the state.

I couldn`t have said it better. People have been to ignorant of what the gov`t schemes have been doing. Add to that fact that the so called “income income” tax is an indirect tax which is always on activities and never on people or property and people might start learning to be critical thinkers.

I agree with the idea of parents being able to control their children’s lunches. However, my wife, as a youngster, drank raw milk. She contracted a disease from it (I’ve forgotten the name) and took 9 months to be fully recovered. She seemed to have recovered completely until, when we tried to have children, found she couldn’t carry a child to term due directly to this disease. So we never had children. Most children will not get sick, but my wife did.

I don’t know what the answers are. On the one hand we have the parents making decisions that may harm their children due to their lack of knowledge. On the other hand, we have the government requiring their dictates be followed, even if they are wrong. (Like California requiring the teaching of Duck, Cover and Hold On for earthquake drill, even though it was a method of execution in the Tower of London from 1530 to the late 18th century. A display of this is on the Tower tour in the dungeon. This state ignores the evidence!)

    • Earl

Dean, a thorough reading of the REALMILK website will give you the whole story on raw milk. There are no valid statistics that show raw milk is the causative factor in most of the cases involved. Furthermore, most of the cases were contracted from regular pasteurized milk, which has has it’s antibiotic (yes, really) properties destroyed by heating it. I personally drink it myself and happily pay 7 bucks a gallon for it. I’m 68, am on NO prescription drugs and in good health. Can’t remember the last time I had a cold…….

The primary war against Raw milk is being waged by the COMMERCIAL DAIRIES, since raw is becoming popular, and they can’t compete, due to the disease causing conditions of concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFO). In addition to that, one must consider that the animals are fed FEED instead of grazing on GRASS like they were designed for by their creator. Add to that massive doses of antibiotics and Bovine Growth hormones and such, and one wonders why they would even WANT to drink fake milk. Taint natcheral!!
