A Good Cop Steps Up

A Good Cop Steps Up
SCREENSHOT

Albany County Sheriff’s Deputy Stan Lenic understands the Constitution, and his stand on its behalf has made him an overnight Internet sensation.

Lenic was called in to the Albany (N.Y.) International Airport last week to resolve a growing confrontation between the airport’s PR hack Doug Myers and a couple of activists handing out flyers informing airline passengers of their right to opt out of the airport’s naked body scanners. Myers tried to get them to stop handing out flyers and videotaping their activities.

Myers made the two move to a new location then accused them of blocking traffic while standing where he told them to stand. In an obvious intimidation tactic, Myers demanded their identification — even though videographer Jason Bermas gave Myers his name several times — and told Lenic to get their IDs and, with a wink, said to give their information to him. Lenic told Myers the two did not have to produce IDs.

“Obviously this is your Constitutional right, okay?” Lenic told Ashley Jessica and Jason Bermas. “As far as you’re concerned, you’re not breaking any laws. That’s what I want to get across to you guys.”

After Bermas posted the video to YouTube, it went viral. The Albany County Sheriff’s Department began getting calls and emails from across the Nation commending Lenic’s actions in defense of the 1st Amendment. A Facebook page for Lenic was up within hours.

Lenic got it right and deserves all the accolades he receives for his actions.

Fortunately there are a few officers like officer Lenic to help offset those like the officers who murdered the suicidal young man mentioned the other day.

    • Vicki

To Albany County Sheriff’s Deputy Stan Lenic and the Albany County Sheriff for having such a deputy all that can be said is “Well Done gentlemen. Well Done.”

      • RAB

        Amen, Vicki…God Bless America…

      • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

He needs to be promoted to a position where he can influence the officers under him.

This man is the best P.R. relations for the police department !

At least he knows the law

      • JeffH

        Yes, kudos for Officer Lenic.

I’d like to give a shout out of approval to NYPD officer Lawrence DePrimo for his compassion and charity. Officer DePrimo gave a pair of heavy socks and boots to a barefoot homeless man.

      • Kate8

I saw this video this morning on YouTube, via the Vatic Project (which had an excellent article, as well).

Yes, bravo to the sheriff for honoring his oath to protect and defend OUR rights…

But let’s not neglect to praise the young man and woman who stood up to tyranny with such courage. I’m no Alex Jones fan, but he’s got some really dedicated people exercising their rights in the face of strong attempts at intimidation. I wonder how many of US would act with such poise and bravery as these two beautiful young folks. They didn’t even flinch.

That’s what comes with KNOWING you are in the right, and knowing the law. Too many of us don’t ever take the time to educate ourselves and, thus, cave at the first show of “authority”.

        Well done.

      • http://smoovious.wordpress.com Smoovious Laxness

        @Rhonda Reichel

A better place to promote him would be the board who decides who gets to join the academies and who gets turned away, and what kind of training they get.

We’ll end up with a lot more intelligent police officers that way.

        – Smoov

      • JC

An officer worthy of everyone’s respect. Hats off to Stan Lenic.

      • TIME

I thank God for Good people, who see the light of positive vibrations toward our fellow humans. This Fine Fellow seems like a good Lad, May GOD Bless and keep him safe

Merry Christmas ~ Peace and Love

      • Nadzieja Batki

Please God, keep Lenic safe to do his job.

      • Old Henry

Bravo to Deputy Lenic! As mentioned above, Well Done!

Let’s hope that Little Barry the Communist interloper does not put Deputy Lenic on his “hit litst” for standing behind our Constitution.

      • Louise

        “God Bless” this deputy…

      • Michael

Amen to that. This officer seems to fit the mold of what we once called “peace officers” and not the uniformed thugs that seem to populate many (most?) current police departments.

    • Bob

      A cop with ethics……wow!

  • Harold Olsen

Well, I guess Lenic will be the next sheriff (deputy sheriff, anyway) that Holder’s Justice Department will be starting an investigation on. Any cop, it seems, that enforces the Constitution gets put on Holder’s (and Obama’s) enemies list.

    • Right Brain Thinker

What is wrong with you, Harold? Why do people like you have to politicize everything, good news or bad? Christmas is coming soon—-are you people going to somehow politicize that? Since Jesus likely had dark skin and curly hair, I can just see someone on this site ranting about “the (racist term) that came into the world so that he could preach about how righteous it was to STEAL from the rich and REDISTRIBUTE to the poor”. Joy to the Plutocrats, Harold.

I worked closely with a lot of policemen back in the day and the vast majority were like Deputy Lenic. It’s nice to see that the “good cops” got some publicity for a change.

      • Paul Wells

Nothing is wrong with Harold RBT. It’s called the Constitution, and it’s been trampled enough by the Community Organizer in Chief, and his little buddy, Fast and Furious Eric. Why don’t you pull your head out?

      • just ramblin

        WHAT!!!!!
        The right must be dead.
        just rambling

      • Sol of Texas

        Talk about making assumptions? Booooo!

      • JeffH

RBT says, “Christmas is coming soon—-are you people going to somehow politicize that? Since Jesus likely had dark skin and curly hair, I can just see someone on this site ranting about “the (racist term) that came into the world so that he could preach about how righteous it was to STEAL from the rich and REDISTRIBUTE to the poor”.”

The progressive sociopath and hypocrit chastises Harold for politicizing the good deed by Lenic and then goes off on a fairly typical ignorant hardcore progressive rant of his own.

RBT, the intellectual moron…they’re coming to take you to the looney bin…sooner than later. Seek help!

      • Alex Frazier

Actually Right Brain … since the wise men brought Jesus some gold, I just want to make sure that Jesus paid his capital gains tax after the gold went through the money changers so Joseph and Mary would have proper Jewish coins that didn’t contain any graven images. And I do wonder also about the gift tax for the frankincense and myrrh, which I understand were quite valuable back then (valuable enough to be on a level with gold as a gift from one king to another).

      • don

right brain where you been chrismas has been politized for years. an law abiding cops are not liked by present goverment. for the smiple reason their not law abiiding

      • Right Brain Thinker

We hear from another Stooge. J effH says: “…..goes off on a fairly typical ignorant hardcore progressive rant”. Need I point out who the intellectual moron is here? i should be obvious that it’s the one who would put FAIRLY TYPICAL in front of the words “ignorant hardcore progressive rant”. FAIRLY TYPICALLY moronic is what it is.

        And Alex Frazier says:

        “Actually Right Brain … since the wise men brought Jesus some gold, I just want to make sure that Jesus paid his capital gains tax after the gold went through the money changers so Joseph and Mary would have proper Jewish coins that didn’t contain any graven images. And I do wonder also about the gift tax for the frankincense and myrrh, which I understand were quite valuable back then (valuable enough to be on a level with gold as a gift from one king to another)”{

To which I say, very good, Alex. LOL Quite clever.
You are apparently not as dumb as you sometimes appear in your comments

      • Vicki

        Right Brain Thinker says:
        “We hear from another Stooge.”

Ad hominem attack. Is this typical of right brain thinking?

      • JeffH

Not unexpected that RBT would follow up his previous rant with more of his progressive drivel. You’re a hypocrit!
Get it through your head RBT, you’re recognized as a shill and you know you haven’t any credibility around here…the same lack of credibility as the other shills, GALT, Falsy, Rob Smith (et al) have…none.

Keep ‘em coming, that’s what you “intellecual morons” are good for…showing other’s just how an ignorant half brained progressive thinks…or doesn’t think.

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing Wake The Sleepers(Jay)

Brain-dead, the Noecon-fascist-Crony-Capitalist swine and a Warren Buffon-Wanna be says: Need I point out who the intellectual moron is here?

I think you just did, as you always do, based on your moronic posts. You have also made the claim that you are/were a professor. If that is true, why is it that we never receive an intelligent comment from you? Are you a professor? I think not! Closer to the truth; you are a bluffer, a poser and a hypocrite; and the same goes for the rest of your entourage. Now, why don’t make like a good “Nazi” and go starch your sheets!

As a matter of fact, you will note, folks, that it is always the letf-wing or sociopathic-progressives, or whatever you want to call them, that make such self-aggrandizing claims; i’m a professor, i’m a scientist, or, i ran a successful conglomerate-comapny and on and on…Of course, such claims cannot be confirmed, and that is precisely the reason they make them; that, and the fact that they have no credibility, since no one here will afford them any, and so they will try and establish credibility, any way they can, by hook or by crook, whatever it takes! Just ignore the village-idiot aka Brain-dead, folks! He’s not worth the trouble…

      • Average Joe

        RBT says:
“Need I point out who the intellectual moron is here?”

Nope. After reading your usual diatribe(delusional rants) for weeks now, I have concluded that you take those honors…hands down…although I must admit, Flashy and a few others were in the serious running…. yes, you are a legend (in your own mind) Congrats on achieving notoriety!

        AJ

      • Right Brain Thinker

Vicki says: “Ad hominem attack Is this typical of right brain thinking?”
No, Vicky, it’s actually typical of whatever goes on on the cranial cavities of the Stooges, which I certainly wouldn’t characterize as “thinking”. Here’s some ad hominem for you from the Stooges and a wannabee stooge. It’s quite impressive to run it together like this. I don’t mind if the Stooges copy it and just paste it in as an answer to anything I may say. They can’t seem to address anything I say with any real thinking, so why not?

JeffH says, “The progressive sociopath and hypocrit chastises Harold and then goes off on a fairly typical ignorant hardcore progressive rant of his own. RBT, the intellectual moron…they’re coming to take you to the looney bin…sooner than later. Seek help!” “Not unexpected that RBT would follow up his previous rant with more of his progressive drivel. And the King of the Stooges chips in with another froth-at-the-mouth, desperate attack.

Wake The Sleepers(Jay) says: “Brain-dead, the Noecon-fascist-Crony-Capitalist swine and a Warren Buffon-Wanna be says: Need I point out who the intellectual moron is here? ……you are a bluffer, a poser and a hypocrite; and the same goes for the rest of your entourage. OINK, OINK, JAY!

And Average Joe chips in with a below-average piece of drivel. You need to up your game, AJ, if you want the big boys to let you DOWN into their mental cesspool and accord you full stooge status.

(and I only have to be a legend in my SPARE TIME to deal with you cretins)

        Unusually honest of you.

Have you said anything that required any real thinking to address?

Vicki says: “Have you said anything that required any real thinking to address?”

Of course I have Vicki, and it apparently goes right over your head too—-would you like to start a female auxiliary to the Stooges? Don’t think we didn’t notice that lovey little exchange (blush) you had with Jay.

BTW, was it you that posted a link somewhere on PLD to an article about the $30 million house Obama was buying in Hawaii ? If so, could you post it again?

Average Joe thinks he is upping his game by giving us TWO QUOTES, as in:
“I’m like Jay my hero—-I’m too dumb to have anything intelligent to contribute but ad hominem attacks, so I’ll find something that LOOKS smart to me and just copy it”:
And Psssst, no less? Lord love a duck!

    • http://www.facebook.com/david.a.deal David A Deal

We liberals want more cops like this! So many cops abuse their power and try to suppress freedom. A good example is the many situations where citizens are being arrested and threatened for photographing and video taping police actitvity in public. I myslef work for a newspaper and had my camera taken from me when photographing the aftermath of a murder scene near the main stoplight in a small town when I was standing where an officer had directed me to. It was the new town Marshal who went all police State on me. The Sheriff was more reasonable when he showed up but I did not get my camera back untgil 2 days later when the Publisher of the newspaper went to the Jail just down the street to demand it. He then asked for a meeting with the Town marshal and a town board memeber and the Marshal still refused to admit wrong doing or apologize. I will sue and win if it ever occurs again!

      • Alex Frazier

You should sue and win now so there won’t be an again.

      • Vicki

        David A Deal says:
“We liberals want more cops like this! ”

Something that liberals (at least the one named David A Deal) and conservatives can actually agree on.

Now what do we do with cops like Eric Holder?

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing Wake The Sleepers(Jay)

I have a few suggestions, Vicki, but i seriously doubt our moderator would allow them to be posted!

    • TIME

      Dear RBT,

As far as the evidence {The Christ was of Middle Eastern backround,} thus he was not Black.

Non the less “I am Black ” ~ even if I am very pale in color as in near white looking due to the massive mixing of family members from my past. ~ as in I am a Heinz 57 MIX.

So I may have had some what curly hair when it had color of what ~ BTW ~ it I was Naturaly Blonde.

So just for the record, My great Grandmother was darker than I am, and her hair was Red and was straight and very long ~ oddly she even had BLUE EYES, and her mother had Green Eyes and Long Straight Light Brown hair and she was much darker as she came from Africa on a special boat made for people that were sold to others.

But Hey thanks for telling me what I am supost to look like. Oh ~ How special for me.

Merry Christmas ~ Peace and Love

      • Kate8

We can’t know the coloring of Yeshua by going by current day middle easterners. And, BTW, some of them are very light skinned.

The Jews came in all colorings back then. Don’t forget that the original 12 Tribes were driven out of Jerusalem and scattered throughout Europe, comprising modern day Europeans/Americans. There are Jewish relics and artifacts found in America that date back prior to the Native Americans, showing that they also came here.

Assuming that these Jews were the same as modern day Arabs is misleading. The caucasians who came from Africa were comprised largely of Jews.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Time says: “But Hey thanks for telling me what I am supost (sic) to look like. Oh ~ How special for me”. I assume he is somehow referring back to what I said here?

“Since Jesus likely had dark skin and curly hair, I can just see someone on this site ranting about “the (racist term) that came into the world so that he could preach about how righteous it was to STEAL from the rich and REDISTRIBUTE to the poor”.

All I can say to Time is that he has badly missed my point. Perhaps his oversensitivity to anything with the term “racist” in it has something to do with it, but I was not “telling him what he is supposed to look like”. Maybe if he reads it again, with emphasis on the last half of the last sentence, my point will become clearer to him.

Kate8 says: “The caucasians who came from Africa were comprised largely of Jews”. You have completely lost me, Kate. EVERYONE came from Africa and there weren’t any “caucasians” until much later and Jews are not a racial group—-there are black, yellow, brown, white, and even green Jews (I met some of them in the USMC). Whatever the heck are you talking about?

  • Chip

    Well done sir, well done

  • dhip

Maybe this will dispell some people’s thoughts that law enforcement is not on their side. These officers put their life at issue every day they go to work, to protect and serve. If only politicians had the same ethics and code of conduct, and have read and understood the basic tenets of the United States Constitution. Thanks for all you do.

    • phideaux

No, what it does is show that the majority of the posters here are correct. There are some good officers to at least partialy offset the harm done by the bad officers in the various police forces.

    • Alex Frazier

This officer is a diamond in the ruff. One need only watch COPS, Campus PD, or any of the other police reality shows out there. Cops are corrupt, they don’t care one bit about the Constitution, they stack charges, falsify evidence, file false reports, are abusive, and mostly just take upon themselves more authority than they have.

One great instance here locally that I still remember … There was a fight at the bar. One guy attacked the other. The attacked man did nothing to defend himself. He wasn’t even drunk. The cops took them both to jail.

Someone tried to tell the cops what really happened, and that they were arresting someone who hadn’t done anything. The response was, “one more word and you’re going to jail.”

Here in South Carolina, it is a felony for a police officer to arrest you for something other than what they are arresting you for. In other words, you can’t arrest someone for speaking “one more word” and put in the report that the charge is public drunkeness or some similar trumped charge. To arrest someone for speaking is also a direct infringement on their first amendment right to free speech, and to redress our government, which the police are part of.

      But it didn’t stop them.

I think cops are just social janitors. They don’t do anything useful. They rarely stop crime, and half the time they themselves are the criminals. They never get there until after the crime has been committed (isn’t the saying, “where’s a cop when you need one”). And they deal with the mess. Thus, they are social janitors.

I tip my hat this cop. He’s the spec of rice in that big pile of crap. But one cop isn’t going to change my view that the police are just a modern day gestapo-like organization that can get away with whatever it wants.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Not to pry, Alex, but it does sound like you have had many bad experiences with the Law. Do you engage in activities that would lead them to be “negative” toward you?
Do you hang out in bars and witness much cop “misbehavior” when dealing with drunks? The cops I worked with had a saying—-”Never argue with a drunk”. Just saying.

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing Wake The Sleepers(Jay)

Dead-Brain slurs: The cops I worked with had a saying…

Being a inmate doesn’t qualify as having worked with cops, dead-head. Perhaps you have spilled more beans then you had intended, no-brains?

      • Average Joe

        RBT says:
“The cops I worked with had a saying—-”Never argue with a drunk”. Just saying.”

RBT, if you stop comming here drunk..the problem will be solved ( trust me, none of us like arguing with you, when you’re drunk).

        OINK-OINK, JAY!

    Great footage. Important footage, Jason.

It is so very refreshing to hear something positive in light of our world state. If only we had more Stan Lenic’s guarding the People’s rights.

God Bless all the Stan Lenic’s out there.

  • Dad

Want to be a good cop for all Americans? Ditch the union…

  • Jonathan

It is very good to see a police officer with a spine, someone who can stand up for what is right!!!!! If more people would join the police force with that capability, this country would be better off!!!!!

  • dan

…the prerequisite for free speech is respect for the audience. Hurrah for Deputy Lenic…
just doing his job and keeping the peace. Hurrah for Jason and Ashley….holding the line against presumptuous bureaurats dictating ‘regulations’ that impinge on freedom under the color of law.

  • Patsy

My spouse and I just traveled over the Thanksgiving holiday. Orlando has yet to install scanners, but when we left Dallas to come back to Orlando, the scanners were in use as well as metal detectors. I refused to be scanned because nobody has yet to determine to my satisfaction that they will not trigger cancer cells to start growing. Having had cancer one time already, I will not take the chance. My punishment for refusing the scan was to remove my sandals that Orlando airport did not make me remove and submit to a full body pat-down. Why could I not have just gone through the metal detector as I saw dozens of others do? While waiting for the person who was to search me, I heard the comment, “Well if they just knew what that machine was they would not object.” I know what the machine is and I know what my doctor says about being radiated.

My point is that the young people passing out the fliers as well as the policeman did a very welcome service for a lot of people that are not aware that they don’t have to go through the scanners. Thank God for Officer Lenic and for the activists.

  • http://www.facebook.com/DQuinn888 Duane Quinn

I heard this tape on Alex Jones radio show the other day…
This officer is a hero because of his contrast to the majority of moronic vicious psychotic sociopaths who seem to wear the uniform of “Police Officer” today.
At least half of the the other cops showing up on this scene would have started beating the person handing out literature with their nightsticks and arrested them…Why? because they could “get away with it….” Deputy Stan Lenic is a hero….

  • Paul Wells

The real irony here is Albany airport was likely financed by revenue bonds paid for by the taxpayers. So, in a manner of speaking, the taxpayers themselves “own” the airport. But notice once an agency, like the airport authority gets involved, Constitutional Rights go out the window! Bravo to deputy Stan Lenic, for standing up for our rights, rights that others are only too quick to trample upon!

  • Sol of Texas

    Finally!

  • Cliffystones

The guy complaining about the flyers seems to be one grumpy old repressed hippie burn-out. He should just go home and listen to his Canned Heat 8-tracks.

  • Tom Williams

I’m wearing my RED, WHITE & BLUE today in honor of these folks today.
I’m also spreading this to family and friends so they can see it and take pride in it as well.
They can also share this information with everybody.

Man can you imagine what that guys family must have to go through?

Somebody should do a Bitter Beer Face YouTube commercial and put the power tripping old codger in there. Ha! Ha!

Seriously though, we should pray for the power hungry minion and his family.
    It really is so sad.

PS. I love the Alex Jones Show so Yes I Am an Independent Constitution and Freedom Loving Patriot.

The airport PR man is such a “coglione”.

  • john mitchell

it’s time the american people stand up for the constituion, our government is trashing the constituion, and none of those idiot’s in congress have the back bone to say enough is enough. we all know he is a liar in chief, they are the problem. our elected oficials think they are above the law. and are getting rich off the tax payer’s. wake up people.god bless this officer.

Great job to the officer and those brave young activists. Keep America free!

What a tool that airport official was….how can he keep his job? The city authorities ought to see he gets fired.

    • http://aol Florence

That airport official will probably get a raise, after all “they” want to keep us under their thumbs. Govt and big business want to dismantle the Constitution and have more control of the people.

    • Nadzieja Batki

My concern is if Lenic will keep his job for long, hell had no fury as a petty official that gets crossed.

Good Cop, Great Cop, Intelligent Cop…Many thanks for supporting the Constitution. All the best to you.

  • THOMAS KANE

THERE ARE TWO LEVELS OF THINKING ON THIS;AS USUAL YOU HAVE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF PEOPLE THAT WILL ALMOST FOR CERTAIN DISLIKE COPS.SOME CASES GRANTED, SOME COPS LIKE ALL OCCUPATIONS, HAVE ROTTEN APPLES.BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THE JOB THEY STICK OUT.THEN YOU HAVE MAJORITY OF COPS WHO GO ABOUT DAY IN DAY OUT DOING THEIR JOBS,DEALING WITH ALL KINDS OF EVIL AND UGLY UNTIL 20-30 YRS DOWN THE ROAD IFTHEY MAKE IT,TOO RETIREMENT.THIS IS THE NO.1 DIVORCE OCCUPATION.NO.1 ALCOHOL ABUSE OCCUPATION.NO.2 SUICIDE OCCUPATION,NO. 2 DISABILITY/INJURY OCCUPATION .IVE SEEN BOTH TYPES FOR NEARLY20 YEARS I WORKED AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT/PEACE OFFICER.BUT ,FOR ALL THE PUBLIC SHOULD KNOW THAT THE MAJORITY OF COPS ARE GOOD,HONEST,SOLID, LAW ABIDING PROTECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY AND THE CONSTITUTION.I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT .IT NEARLY COST MY LIFE.BUT I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN IF ABLE.THERE IS FEELING IN THE WORLD LIKE DOING THE RIGHT THINGAND HELPING SOMEONE FROM EVIL AND UGLY.

Why would the guy get upset at them passing out flyers stating a passenger’s rights? I have a feeling he did not serve in our Military.

  • SomewhereInTexas

Time for massive civil disobedience every time the anti-freedom thugs try to bully Americans. Use the marxist muslim fraud’s own tactics against them: overwhelm their system, just like Ayatollah Obama is trying to collapse our economy.

  • MontieR

The fascist activities of our government are tolerated and accepted by the general public,
simply because the lib/socialists have done away with teaching Americans about their God given rights and done away with any REAL information about the constitution and the rights it grants EVERY American.

    • Vicki

Since all rights come from God and since the Constitution is an enumerated set of powers that we (the people) delegate to government, and a set of LIMITS on what powers we can delegate to government, how can it possibly GRANT us ANY rights?

Our rights come from God. The Constitution PROTECTS our rights from government power but only if we remind our employees (government agents) of their responsibilities.

        Exquisite articulation, Vicki! Brava!!!

      • Vicki

        *blush* thank you.

    • Paul Wells

True enough. Unfortunately, our children have not been educated, they’ve been indoctrinated! At state universities are the worst examples of tenured liberal professors spewing left wing garbage, onto impressionable young minds. And then we wonder why things are in the state that they are in? Pretty sad, but there is always an opportunity to turn this bus around. Dismantle teachers unions/professors unions, make all in the teaching profession accountable for their results (year-end reviews), and fire University professors when their own obsession with liberalism exceeds their zest for educating!

Thank you for sharing the “Good-News”, Mr. Livingston!

Hmm, that’s odd…where could all the left-wing ding-bats have gone to. Oh i forgot, they don’t respond well to good news, particularly when it involves an authority-figure up-holding the Constitution; ANATHEMA, they would cry, if present. Sadly, there is only one here, and he seems totally lost. Here all alone, and without his back-up to make him feel brave. He roams around like a scared little-boy, and i do fear he’s about to cry…oh my!

  • grumpy3625

OMG! A police officer who can think for himself and handle the situation appropriately. Thank you sheriff Lenic for being standup. This, by the way, is exactly what sheriffs are supposed to do. They are to protect the people in every case where a crime is being committed. The crime here is when Doug Myers attempted to deny the first amendment rights of the people handing out the literature. He should have been arrested. All in all, good work, sheriff.

  • Richard Nick

I applaud deputy sherrif Lenic for his knowledge of the law and the constitution. I would like to take this opportunity to advise him of his constituional right to arrest Mr. Myer for his attempt to deny those citizens’ first ammendment rights.

  • Kevin Wickham

This “PR person” for the airport authority was clearly just harassing and trying to intimidate these two people, for what reason God only knows. It became clear to me that this outstanding deputy was in protection mode to keep this over zealous goon away from a young lady trying to do good in this world and the man filming her. Bravo! And further more it appeared to me that the deputy was near to arresting this goon when he finally told him at one point ” please just don’t talk.” Does my heart good to hear of such peace officers in the midst of the normal news of officers harming people. I realize bad news sells papers but this story gives me hope.

  • Old Henry

Great information Bob. Thank you for letting us know. I had not seen, or heard, of this.

  • Tricia MT

Well done protector of the People. These are your God given rights and mine we must resist and not comply. Thank you officer Lenic. Respectfully, TMT

    • Benny Hill

Sheriff Lenic, job well done! You didn’t do anything, but obey the Constitution of United States Of America. We need all your colleagues to do the same, just obay the Constitutioin and we will be O.K..

  • Motov

It almost restores one’s faith of the system Now if we could arrest the crook who sits in the oval office, and about 90% of congress we would be making some real progress.

    • Louise

      “DITTO”…Motov.I agree with you totaly..

I love it when a good cop rises to the top. I can honestly say, this brings me happiness. I hope this is the start of something. Cops supposed to be hero’s but such a few bad taint so many neutral and good ones. Please let this be the start of something good.

  • jopa

This is a welcome breath of fresh air to see some positive reporting such as this on an occasional basis. There was also the video that went viral this past week of an NYPD officer providing shoes and socks to some homeless guy.America is still number #1.These type of actions are what I am more familiar with seeing with my own eyes such as an officer of the Pa, State Police helping an elderly couple change a flat.Media outlets it’s usually a cop clubbing someone and never the good stuff.

  • s c

Now THAT’S a rare combination, folks. Law enforcement has its share of wackos who should be greeting others at the front door of a WalMart (and some of their ilk belong behind bars). Times being what they are, that cop will probably be singled out and told to find a job somewhere else.
I’d gladly trade him straight across for ANY retard in Kongress who thinks he/she is a budding social justice Messiah.

  • 45caliber

He should have arrested the airport’s man, Myers (who was probably TSA, not the airport’s man) for attempting to deny them their Constitutional rights.
