A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To 5.7 Percent

June 11, 2012 by

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To 5.7 Percent
The “official” May unemployment number was 8.2 percent.

In February 2009, Congressional Democrats (with three quasi-Republican enablers in tow) solved America’s unemployment problem and financial woes by passing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

This act ordered the Federal Reserve to print hundreds of billions of new dollars for President Barack Obama to throw into the air to, we were told, create jobs for Americans, provide temporary relief for those most affected by the recession and invest in infrastructure, education, health and so-called “green” energy projects. The total cost of this Keynesian boondoggle was to be $787 billion.

Obama’s transition team promised in an impact statement that if the ARRA were passed, unemployment — which stood at 7.8 percent at Obama’s inauguration — would be down to 5.7 percent by May 2012. A funny thing happened on the way 5.7 percent: nothing. The “official” May unemployment number was 8.2 percent. This was predictable and predicted.

Forty months have passed since the official unemployment rate was below 8 percent. This has not happened in America since the Great Depression. According to a report by the Congressional Budget Office, ARRA will cost a total of $831 billion by 2019. What was gained by the expenditure of this money? Between 200,000 and 1.5 million jobs, according to the report.

In other words, ARRA created jobs at a cost of between $554,000 and $4.1 million each.

The notion that the Federal government spent $800 billion to create jobs is classic doublethink. If the money had to be spent — a false notion — there were certainly better ways to use it.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the median household income is $51,914. If the goal was to employ people, more than 16 million could have been employed to do nothing — or many things — if they each were paid the median household income. This is more than the total number of Americans unemployed (12.7 million), according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Although couched in altruistic terms in order to deceive the American people into buying the lie, the money was used to reward corporatocracy — Wall Street, the banksters, large corporations that own American government and Obama campaign donors — not to stimulate recovery.

This is fascism in the name of democracy.

Understand this: The so-called stimulus package was a myth, as was the 2008 bailout package. The stated reasons for these packages were myths. Any statements by politicians that they have concern for the American people are falsehoods.

What we have is grand theft, grand fraud and grand deception. That is not a myth.

The real issue of the empire of intrigue is sucking the savings out of the American people by seductively watering their U.S. dollar accounts. This is not a myth. There is no historical equal.

The greatest tragedy of all is that the American people — the victims of this financial massacre — somehow, someway believe that this rape and the transfer of their savings and retirement to the system is good business. A more sober people would see this masquerade as a slaughter of their blood-bought assets and as no less than total war.

But the political elites continue to pile on. They are using weapons of mass deception.

CNBC reports that banks are being pressured to buy up government debt. It has been going on for years. What does this mean?

It means there is a time bomb fast ticking toward zero. Its explosion will be horrific.

There now seems no way to stop it. It is creating a new debt bubble that will rival the derivatives fiasco.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke delivered what the mainstream media described as a stern warning to Washington to act more aggressively on debt reduction and fiscal responsibility. There is no appetite for that in Washington — or anywhere else.

The European Union is in crisis. Greece is on the verge of collapse. Spain is stalling for time. French citizens just elected a socialist who promises to double down on the policies that got the French economy in trouble to begin with. Germany will soon financially rule Europe.

It is not polite to speak of the EU as Eurosocialism or, God forbid, a neo-Nazism with Germany running the show. Nazi propaganda said, “Next time the world.”

Can we not see how National Socialism (Nazism) evolved through chaos to the New Order? If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it must be a duck.

The elite rulers of the world have a weakness. They use the same plans over and over. They change only names and propaganda. The people can’t seem to follow the underlying threads because, like children, they get outfoxed by different names and camouflages.

So now even the whole world has been hoodwinked into supporting National Socialism under the name European Union. Do you think that Herr Hitler would love it?

EU leaders call for austerity. No meat and trifling little fat are cut from the bone. Yet those who have for so long received something for nothing riot and strike and destroy. Then progressives point to the chaos in Europe and say, “See what austerity brings?”

What passes for “austerity” in Europe is similar to what passes as “austerity” in America: No one is serious about — or even seriously proposing — cutting government spending. Even suggestions to slow the growth of government spending are met with derision.

The only difference in America and Europe is the sacred cow military-industrial complex, which must continue exponential growth in order to feed Pax Americana.

More than 46 million Americans are on food stamps. Half of all Americans get some form of government assistance. These are all that are staving off “austerity riots” in America.

The next great transfer will be the confiscation of individual retirement accounts, 401(k)s and pension plans to pay down government debt. This will be the last big rape!

When that is gone, chaos and destruction will follow. Out of the ashes will rise a new system, hopefully a sound one on a gold standard. We must first go through the fire.

Our government is no longer the peoples, we have been taken over by foreign banksters. The complete takeover of America continues, 1000s of TSA pillbox checkpoints all over the 50 states, 750million rounds of ammo purchased, foreign troops training to disarm the American people. Panetta and Obama telling congress they are not needed, and that they take orders from the UN.
Agenda 21 takeover locally continues, small farms under total attack thru regulation, 30,000 droned being used to monitor and shut down Farmer markets shut down children’s lemonade stands, organic farms raided by police, Amish legally selling milk and peaches raided by gun slinging swat teams.
You will be starved into submission, your land taken, your guns confiscated, and your children sent to government brainwashing centers and turned against you. You will be tagged with RFID chips in your hand or forehead and made to worship the beast.
    Welcome to the NWO

Freedom Fighter, yours is “a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury. signifying nothing”
Shakespeare and many others have heard these cries of doom from the paranoid mind for centuries! You fear what you don’t undrstand and can’t control!
This is the NUMBER ONE COUNTRY in the world! Not perfect now and never has been because it it made up of people with all of OUR warts and weaknesses!!!! BUT WE ARE way the h*ll in front of what ever is in second place!

      • http://http// sophillyjimmy

Are we really nc? I find it amazing that I have been in China for a year and a half and at the end of each month since being here I actually have extra money from my social security check so take heed from Freedom Fighter, we are not as far ahead as you thinl when our deficit is to the point where our great grand kids will be paying it off and Obama’s answer is to just print more currency which will soon put our dollar into hyperinflation. Our dollar already was downgrade to less then AAA, something that never happened before in the history of our country, even during the Great Depression, try to rethink our number 1 status in the world and unless this socialist president is kicked to the curb in November we may be worse off then Kenya.

      • internet1

nc, you’ll wake up when it all hits you, wait until January 1, 2013 and we’ll see you cry and wine because you were so stupid to think what hit you before hand. You think nothing can happen to America, it already has, wake up! Only answer is get Obama OUT OF HIS WHITEHOUSE. That kills me to hear him call it HIS White House, he just ignores whose WH it is, sure as hell it’s not HIS.

      • Congress Works For Us

Here’s the problem I have with your response.

If he’s wrong, he looks like a fool.

If you are wrong, we are all toast…

      • Diane

You may be right but the idiot here seems to be you. Shut and stand up. Do something useful instead of blowing off your big mouth

      • NOBAMA

You apparently are either completely naive to what is going on in America or completely ignorant of the facts. Everything he said is, has or is attempted to happen here in America.

Such as the RFID chips – Read pgs. 1001 – 1008 of the Obamacare Bill (H.R 3200). Though it has been shot down and reworded in a subsequent Bill, the mere fact that the Government would suggest such an invasion of privacy is ludicrous.

The Amish have been under attack about selling milk straight from the cow

FEMA camps have shot up everywhere and have purchased millions of food packs.

Just a few months ago, a few little girls was forced to shut down their lemonade stand unless they purchase a business permit costing somewhere around $120 – $180 as memory serves.

The Government a few months ago have purchased millions of rounds of hollow point munitions, for what they say is for the purpose of training.

Hillary Clinton which is one of the biggest supporters of the small arms treaty along with Obama have been working relentlessly with the UN to allow them to control who and what kind of arms a person has or can have.

Hillary Clinton and Obama along with the rest of their Administration is all for Agenda 21.

Obama administration has suggested giving control of our ports and all waterways and even our Navy to the control of the U.N.

Farms have been seized by the Government and many farmers that retain their property are told what they can and cannot grow.

Any of these can be googled and researched articles on any of these issues which you likely do not know about because the Liberal MSM refuses or avoids reporting on any issues that would make the Obama regime look guilty of socialistic or Communistic intentions to push their NWO agenda’s. They want to keep citizens such as yourself ignorant to their agenda’s through censorship of the media.

nc, are you naturally ignorant, or did you over medicate yourself in your youth? go buy gas for your car and then go over and buy some groceries. Then come back here and spew that crap!

      • Dilligaf

You are yet another naive sheople. You are one of the problems in this country and why we have morons in congress and the WH. Pull your head out of your butt and wake up!!

      • Karolyn

Hey, Hipshot – Gas here is $3.05 and under per gallon. I ain’t complainin’. If you want to live in a state with high taxes, that’s your perogative. The two states I have lived in – NJ & SC – have the lowest gas taxes. Of course, you also have to suffer with bad roads in SC (among other things!) As far as groceries goes, even though food iws generally higher here, I eat very well pretty reasonably. You just have to be a savvy shopper.

      • Old Henry

It’s time to turn off PMSMBC, CNN and FAUX News – especially that dullard Hannity and the nit wit O’Reiley.

Make that popping sound nc, but beware of the sudden bright light.

You speak of Shadespear and paranoid peoples of centuries ago. Well, this has been going on for centuries.

      • Thinking About

NOBAMA, you have been misinformed on your so called chip,I had a very good friend tell me about past week and was told this information by a minister, for those who portray themselves as christians and should be speaking the truth, this is very disturbing. When something sounds as your post, best to check it out.

Having this story going on and on does not make it true.

      • Sonny B

nc it is quite apparent that you’re one of the sheeple that has their head in the sand. I suggest you pull it out of the sand and stick it up your arse and kiss it good by.

      • JeffH

Karolyn says “Hey, Hipshot – Gas here is $3.05 and under per gallon. I ain’t complainin’.”

I bet you said that when gas prices escalted to $2.99 and then dropped to $1.99 or when gas was $0.39 and went up to $0.77 then dropped to $0.59 or when gas was up to $1.99 and then dropped back to $1.49…if you can’t see what’s been happening before your eyes you’ll never see it.

Consumers respond to psychological price points — offer your product at $3.99, and shoppers are far more likely to buy it than at just a penny more, or $4.00.

You’re being “conditioned” to accept the always escalting prices as “better” than the previous higher price…a phony “feel good” moment. You’re content to pay more at the pump because it isn’t as high as it was last month although prices are up $0.80 from last year, and $1.60 over two years ago.

In other words, you’ve been duped into accepting higher gas prices because, “whew” at least it not $4.25 anymore, even though gas is “only” $3.05. I’m sure you can figure it out from there. It’s not rocket science.

        • Jeff

$1.60 per gallon was at the height of the Bush Depression. No demand in the system. Not too hard to lower prices when you do it by destroying the economy.

      • JeffH

Jeff…and your point being? I’m not talking about the point on the top your head.

Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.

You’r e the FREAKIN’ idiot nc! You are right about TWO thing, yes we are still a whole lot better off than most and we are still #1, but it sure in the hell don’t have nothing to do with you or any of the other libtards who post on this site!!! I was always questioned why I didn’t want no part of any 401K package, my answer was always the same, why in the hell would I put MY money in an account that would penalize me for withdrawing MY funds in the case of an emergency?!! DUH!!!
So Bob, how long before a call to arms?!! GET READY! ‘CAUSE IT’S COMIN’!!!

      • Tom W.

        Pray for ABC’s Robin Roberts!

      • Renée

NC, the key words in this is “USED TO BE”. If you look around you, open your eyes and then also listen to the words of the people you will see and hear it all around you. It isn’t something that is made up, it’s fact. It isn’t out of fear that Freedom Fighter writes, it is out of knowledge of what is actually happening in the “real” world. I hope that you will never have to experience what the rest of the U.S. is going through but you will be very sad one day when you finally open your eyes and see what is happening to this once great nation and you did nothing to be prepared for it. Don’t be deceived by the lies of the media, they are little robots of press for the president. You will hear what they want you to hear and read what they want you to read. My best to you and your family. I hope that you will see the truth before they come knocking down your door.

      • Tom W.

RFID chips a myth?!! Ya think Thinking About?!!!

Arron Russo was the ex-governor of Nevada, and a Hollywood film producer who produced “Trading Places” with Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy, and “The Rose” with Bette Midler. He died in 2007 after a six-year battle with bladder cancer.

Tom W. you can be snowed by anyone. I went thru 13 months of chemo and radiation and no one at the office suspected. Robin Roberts did not work for a couple of months but told the world of her plight in advance. No one can have only a couple of months of treatment (maybe a paid vacation) – she lied then and who is to say she is not lying now or maybe her deceit has truly caught up with her.

“You will be starved into submission, your land taken, your guns confiscated, and your children sent to government brainwashing centers and turned against you. You will be tagged with RFID chips in your hand or forehead and made to worship the beast.”

And guess how this will be accomplished? Thats right, by joe blow you and me who happen to have a uniform. The elites can’t be bothered from their nightly cocktail parties to partake personally in the oppression. Phyical opression takes effort and work. So, I blame the police and military forces of the world, who can’t seem to form anti tyranny unions. Our world is run by a bunch of old, weak, absolutely pathetic humans who haven’t known a day of sacrifice in their lives. The true source of all evil in the world is the mindless robots following the orders.

Think about that and stew on that next time you “praise the troops”. You should be swearing at them and telling them to go straight to hell.

      • Jim

Slow down big fella…. the police, solders, and even some of the government tyrannical armed forces (CIA, FBI, HS, TSA, IRS…etc) are fathers, mothers, sons and daughters of us! They are following orders of tyranny, and all manners of liberty extraction, under false pretenses, for now, but I have confidence that they will eventually figure out that the harm they are doing is upon themselves as much as it is us. Have some confidence my friend, though I know it’s hard to do so!

      • Diane

EXCUSE ME, who are you addressing this to?
Surely not me or my family or the millions you have just insulted. You 8.00 an hour person. I’m surprised you can even read.

      • BigBadJohn

You sound like a protester from the 60′s.

“What if they gave a war and nobody came?”

      • Power To The People

Dude….does someone need to cut back on the java? Do you even know any troops who have done so much to see to it that we don’t have another 9/11?

I do….and I can tell you a lot of stories of being put in harms way so wimps like you can insult them and others.

      • Old Henry

If they want another false flag like 9/11 there will be one.

The shadow government has proven its proficiency at it.

      • JerryWheelerWroteThis..

… And I should also include that it isn’t one person or entity that’s trying to wreck havoc upon this Country but each and every politician who are low down enough to freeze honest politicians (an oxymoron?) in their tracks and with the hawks, bulls and yes, the vultures they presume to place the citizenry in a headlock and twist and turn the country into their image.. You think ridding yourself of Obama is going to clear all this out? That Romney (or anyone else who seeks political power save one possibly) will not continue this plan as projected by their (hidden) master(s)? You know, those yellow bellied bitchy girly-men who manipulates others into killing for them.. We are all screwed regardless who finally receives the dunce cap because the plan is too far in to back out now and none of us are safe as the military is these creatures arms and legs and until they see the light, any one who rebels will see only the darkness of their personal dungeon. Right now the slime(s) in charge of the puppets who obey have wide reaching tentacles and since Dubya (or possible before as test objects) we have no say of which Nazi takes control.. You think it’s one party’s fault while you goad yours along to commit the same evils and the party you accuse is being continued by it’s followers as they stir the fire.. It’s ALL of the above! When are you going to wake up to that fact? THAT’S why nobody likes the other party’s agenda because they see the reflection of evil only within the mirror.. Can we wake up? Can we do anything about this ‘movement’..? So long as we have a faceless chooser who hand picks who we must vote for (right or wrong, yes or no.. lesser of two evils) then the answer is a resounding “NO!!”.. Think about this, not as you may possibly ‘feel’ but as you’ve heard.. As you’ve read and all the propaganda from old south bigot to uninformed idiot.. Why have you chosen not to even think of voting for Ron Paul? Is it because the media say’s he’s a loser? Is it because his own party has turned their backs on him? Is it because the hidden one didn’t choose him thus the clowns, butt sniffers and yes men are following in the same slime as they did when one of the big toad’s flunky said, “I want every Pub sign this contract.. There will be no compromise, we shall not pass any bills this president presents until he’s out of office”.. We’re being used and only 50% of the nation believes it’s the opponent’s party that’s doing the manipulation.. WRONG!! It’s THEM against US and so long as we keep our eyes shut, we’ll continue to vote these monsters back into office irregardless of what face they wear. You’re Raygun is dead and buried as is my Kennedy and as such there are no more hero’s in office who’s got the fortitude to release us from these chains.. Woe is us… Woe is us.

    • Warrior

The Scotus ruling on “obamacare” will tell us exactly where we stand on “conservatism vs. progressivism”. If not overturned, every American will become “wards” of the state. Gear up for November kids and get rid of every “progressive” in sight.

      • Sirian

I, as so many of us, pray that the SCOTUS decision will come through and destroy ObummerCare. If it doesn’t I too agree with you fully – “wards of the state” will become our new titles. What’s very troubling is that so many will not realize it until it’s to late.

      • Mike in MI

        Warrior and sirian -
I predict that, no matter what SCOTUS does re: ObamaCare, they will continue with their obscene plans to carry their plans forward. This administration has no intent to back away from their present course.
If they will contradict, deny, make laws and regulations in contradiction to it and basically make fun of the Constitution of the United States of America what difference will what a silly bunch of old lawyers and fat, cancerous women make to them?
The Constitution is the only thing that gives SCOTUS ANY standing in the world.
Obama wipes his Obum with an Article of or Amendment to the Constitution every day. To him the only thing the Constitution was good for was getting him in to position to “fundamentally change America” so he has no need to fret about that document of negative government abilities. Do you realy think what the Supreme Court thinks is an issue to anyone who supports Obama? Including the trolls on this site? They’re un-American as he is.

PAY ATTENTION to the election in Greece coming up Fri.!!! If they vote the Euro down, GET READY! The dominos will begin to fall RAPIDLY!!!

    • eddie47d

One thing that Europe has in common with the USA and even some other parts of the world. They look to Wall Street or other houses of gambling as their guiding star. They got glossy eyed over all the money they will make to save the day. Europe invested heavily in the US market and when our economy hit the skids theirs went with it. The gods of greed worked their financial magic, made out like bandits and ruined several nations. The motto of those who want riches and status in life is “follow the money” and whole nations became addicted. They believed the siren song and crashed upon the rocks. The Elites have done it before and they will do it again and again!

      • Tom W.

That old crone is your mom, isn’t she eddie?!

    • Sirian

Well said, facts are facts, truth is truth. Isn’t nc’s response rather comical in a way. His usual, typical response of idiocy. nc, as so many others refuse to look at the whole picture that is laid out in front of them day by day. HA, their wonderful utopian ideology will save them – my a$$!!! Well said FF, well said!!

      • Tom W.

        Karlolyn’s kids Sirian! LOL!!!

    • Nancy in Nebraska

FF, unfortunately you are right! If I’d heard any of this just a couple of years ago I’d have thought you were nuts but unbelievably so, you are right! Can you even believe that this is happening in America? It amazes me that once you realize that main stream media isn’t telling us what is really going on, you start to look and see what is going on. It’s funny because I have ALWAYS believed that there was an “elite” who allowed us to have “just enough” to keep us happy or at least contented. I never thought that they would turn on us and destroy our country. Actually, that isn’t true. I read the bible and have always believed that these were the days the prophets spoke of. So I guess it IS cognitive dissonance. I just didn’t want to know. So know I’m faced with trying to “wake up” everyone I know. The evil is here, now. I’m not sure how it will play out but I know how it will end. Try to get your loved ones to see what is going on. Everyone needs to turn to GOD because there is nothing that we can do alone.

      • Mike in MI

        Nancy in Nebraska -
As long as there are Christians on this earth until Jesus Christ comes to gather his church to himself…the promises of God contained in Paul’s letters will get results when believed and our ability defined in John 14:12 can be expected to get results. You just need to know what were the things he did – and become very familiar with God’s ABILITY TO PARALYSE THE EVIL POWER OF THE ENEMY.
Let the God-haters howl and screech, curse us and threaten all they want. If they can’t do anything then they’re just caged lions to you. Maybe not to others who get snuffed, but as long as you hang on to God’s coat-tails tight and control your mind he’s the strength of our times.
Think about this one – I Timothy 2:1-4 This is counter-intuitive but when you pray for kings and those in authoritative positions, and you believe “…That we may live quiet and peaceable lives in all Godliness and honesty,” then it’s up to God to see to it that your house hold and neighborhood is quiet and peaceable. You just follow through with finding out what it means to live in Godliness and honesty…and DO IT (if you expect to see that promise happen, ’cause it won’t if you don’t or have no such intent).
Look for other stuff like that – promises which are usefull to you.

      • Tom W.

        Well said MiM!!! Remember the Israelites in Goshen when all the plaques were destroying Egypt! For you NiN;

    • Sirian

      FF & Warrior,
Have you two seen this report? Maybe so but if not, take a look.

      • Old Henry

Thanks Sirian. Naturally I had not heard this anywhere else. It will be interesting to see who they choose to put in the People’s House.

      • JerryWheelerWroteThis..

Well I believe it and to be perfectly fair, I also believe Obama attended in 2008, Dubya in his time and possibly more leaders before they were ‘voted’ in. Like I said, it’s always been up to a council and the head toad decides the one for all of us to vote for. The rotten apples have infiltrated and there’s no more farmers to separate them from the fruit.

    • TIME

      Dear FF,

As per the norm your post is well within the target’s center area.
      Saddly the only thing is this the RFD is coming —— but we have the mark of the beast in place and have had for years now, its called a {“social security number.”}
You can’t buy, nor sell nor get a job without one.

      Dear Bob,

We do have a 5.9 % UE number but saddly we also have a few other digets that are on the back side that the “”MASS MEDIA”” seems to have missed, On the low side that number is around 22% — on the high side its around 25% PLUS that 5.9%. in both cases.

Saddly the nano with in the mass of sheep still think its ( all GOOD.) out on the turd filled field.

So why is it that out of all the grads this year 2012 only 1 out of 1000 will find a job that pays them anything worth talking about. — 3 out of 1000 will find a job that UNDER pays them by 50% or more.

So lets review, that means that out of the hundred of thousands of grad’s 4 will find work for every 1000…….
Now that’s just super PROGRESS —– as in moving forward.

A law firm in Boston is starting off 5 new lawyers at a massive $10,000.00 per year!
Now again lets review, cost of education, $125K to get a JD at a state school.
So what do you think a Harvard or GT JD will cost? What, $250K – $300K so at $10K per year that’s some kind of super deal hey…..

      Peace and Love

      • Tom W.

Unless you’re an illegal alien TIME, LOL!!!

    • Jeff

Yes. I suggest you DO NOT LEAVE THE HOUSE, especially on election day. That’s when the black helicopters and drones are most likely to sneak up on you!

      • Tom W.

    • Manny Robles

Freedon Fighter, where are you from and where do you live? Your comments make no sense what so ever.

I am in Georgia and this rediculous state, not congress, not the president, this state passed an immigration bill, why in Georgia, makes no sense. Now we have Georgia Farmers that have no employees to pick or process crops. Republicans in Georgia claim that this bill would give legal citizens the opportunity and jobs that might be currently held by someone that might not be a legal citizen.

We as of yet, there have been FEW legal citizens even applied to do this kind of work, NONE, absolutely NONE, a proven fact, printed statement, NONE maintain the job for more than a week. So now our farmers are loosing their farms, the crops that grew are dying because they are not being pick at the best time and now we see the cost of groceries going up in Georgia because of the decision this stupid state did.

The other issues/concern written in the initial article:
“This act ordered the Federal Reserve to print hundreds of billions of new dollars for President Barack Obama to throw into the air to, we were told, create jobs for Americans, provide temporary relief for those most affected by the recession and invest in infrastructure, education, health and so-called “green” energy projects”

The ACT ordered the FEDERAL RESERVE to print the money. Why would someone think Obama “threw it into the air”? That has to be the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. He should have ensured regulations around the distribution of those funds, held people accountable for receiving those funds, etc.. But that would have taken congress, the federal reserve and months if not years to get agreement on what kind of regulations would be “fair”. THAT’s BS. if anything, THE ACT, Federal Reserve and Congress have created this issue, placed it in the lap of the president who has limited ability to do anything if he could choose to do anything himself anyway. His word is NOT the end all. That’s no secret or debatable. He’s screwed regardless of his choice.

Talk to the Government officials in Georgia, that can’t even tell you where that money went. Aside for over a $700,000 bonus to the superintendent of the Atlanta School Systems for instances, which is now in total upheaval with internal cheating; teachers who alter students’ scores to improve the school system ratings, thus getting bonuses for it and now they are all being fired. The Superintendent resigned and cannot be held accountable for those actions even though countless teachers claim they were told that they had to do this in order to maintain their teaching jobs and would be rewarded in the end. Now she’s on a beach, and teachers are losing their jobs.

How can a President himself create jobs? I worked for a company that when our business started to slow down, we cut jobs, we ordered fewer products, expecting fewer sales, and hoping to better our product turnover rate. (The rate in which we replenish goods) Our sales remained flat and even picked up a few percentage points.

Give those factors; our profitability went up, and quickly. Our corporate office, which I was a part of, realized that with fewer employees in addition about some of the changes in our business model, we increased profitability quickly! Due to the uncertainty of the market, we felt it was better to maintain this position as opposed to hire. We are now much more profitable and with fewer employees. There is nothing the President can do to change our current hiring philosophy. Who’s fault is that? It’s sad that my company chooses to protect themselves from loose, however, if it were my company, I would beat I would do the same thing. It’s become a take care of me first attitude.

We are in trouble as a country, without a doubt, rather than blaming everyone, the President vs Congress, we should be holding them accountable for correcting and hopefully improving our situation as a country. And those who have contributed to this mess, should be help accountable legally for the mess that they participated in if not caused.

The idiotic liberal never ceases to amaze me, and you sir are the epitome of the ignorant, easily deceived liberal!

With millions of unemployed citizens of your state, sitting around collecting my hard earned money, you would think your liberal Governor would put these people to work picking cotton and stop the destruction of America’s entire summer crop!

With millions of your fellow Georgian citizens sucking off America’s welfare system, you would think your liberal Governor would get these good people out in the fields to earn my money!

Oh, you say you have a Republican as Governor and how can I call him a liberal?

Governor Deal is a Rino (republican in name only) that just converted over from the democrats in the past decade, to deceive the ignorant white trash the live in your state, and to give morons like yourself the fuel needed to justify another vote for the obamanation as you blame all your woes on the bad (republican) white man running your state!

Governor Deal is just another sick and demented liberal much like the one you see every morning in the mirror!

If you honestly believe for a moment that the billions of dollars that were stolen from us were used as promised, I have a bridge here in Brooklyn that I’m selling very cheap!

As Bob stated above, the numbers don’t lie but your president does every time he speaks!

As far as you’re Superintendent and current schools scandals going on, what do you expect?

Go anywhere on this planet, but especially here in America, and find a school, town, city, state or nation that is run by a black person, and 90% of the times you will find corruption on an unprecedented scale!

Because of the poisonous entitlement system we have had since the 60s, many millions of entitlement creatures have been created that honestly believe they are (entitled) to lie, cheat and take anything they want because they are justifiably entitled to it because they are black!

With that mentality and the lack of family, morality, character and honesty, our government has created an entire army of liberal zombies that will corrupt everything they touch!

You seem to hold a position of self and national accountability when you speak of your work background and the corruption in our government, but talk is cheap, and your trust in the most corrupt president America has ever witnessed is proof of your blind ignorance!

God bless America and those who fight for her!!!!

      • THG

Manny , I live in Georgia also and Void hit the nail dead on the head . All these people drawing unemployment or any kind of Govn. “entitlement ” should be working these fields you speak of , although not getting enough help is news to me . But if these people were made to get off their duffs and work for what they get , you’d see the unemployment rate go down . The problem stems from our leaders have made it too profitable to be lazy . I have a family and believe me if it came down to putting bread on the table , I’d work the fields .

      • THG

I am also looking forward to the day they start drug testing anyone that gets any kind of check and I hope they included food stamps in that law also , but you probably think that’s unconstitutional .

      • Tom W.

What are you saying Manny the moron, that our beloved POTUS is not in control of his OWN house?! YOU MAKE ME WANT TO PUKE!!!

      • Manny Robles

WOW I love that I stirred up some serious mess.
VOID, I understand you thinking I’m ignorant and a deceived liberal probably makes you feel better about yourself. Well I hope you feel worthy.

I’m sure you’re one of those that might not be in as good of a position in total as you were in past years. I get that. Sorry to disappoint, however I am a Republican, and proud of it.

I agree that some of the people sitting around the state of Georgia, it’s not my state by the way, and the people sitting around your state that are collecting your “hard” earned money, should take some of those jobs on the farms. I don’t care what you call the Governor of GA, I think he’s worthless. He may have deceived ignorant white trash in this state to justify another vote for obamanation, however I have no woes to blame anyone for.

I’m happy, successful and doing very well for myself. Judging by your message, I can tell you’re an angry racist pig, but again, that’s not my problem. I could care less what color man was running this state, as it is only my primary residence. I live and work in California. I never said anything about billions of dollars were stolen from “us” was used as promised, I said I knew they weren’t. Georgia CAN NOT tell the citizens here where the bail out money went.

I agree that the President WE have hasn’t upheld any of the promises he made, not that any politician does, however, he’s not MY president. I was explaining the school systems issues in Georgia as an example. I don’t expect anything from Georgia. I wouldn’t educate my dog here. Since the system has been as poisonous as you say since the 60′s, you’ve seen more about the public school systems than I have. I didn’t go to a public school.

I agree about the lack of family, honestly I think you should be able to reproduce no more than 2 children if you can’t afford them, and the lack of morality and honest has only made this country worse.

And another thing you got wrong dick is my trust in the most corrupt president America has ever witness, I think there have been others equally corrupt if not worse, but I NEVER said I thought the current President was the most honest president ever.

And TGH, regarding Georgians working in the fields, I’m sure if there were a way to force that, it would probably be done in the south. I agree the government hands out money as if it was an ATM, and eventually someone is going to have to pay for it. AND I DO AGREE ON MANDATORY DRUG TESTING IF YOU TRY TO GAIN ANY SORT OF SUPPORT FROM THE GOVERMENT. You sound like a proud person and I would applaud you if you took whatever work was available so that you could provide for your family.

And Tom, There is NO ONE sitting in the White House that is my beloved anything. Sorry that he doesn’t have the control everybody thinks he does. So if you still feel the need to PUKE, lean over and PUKE in VOID’s lap, sounds like he would put that vomit to good use.

      • Void1972

LOL, I love the replies from you idiotic liberals!

It never ceases to amaze me how the common ignorant liberal will try to hide behind the Republican Party on this site!

You call yourself a Republican and I believe you are the epitome of the new Republican, but I know you are a liberal because of how you speak.

The first sign of a liberal is to call an honest person with pure facts a “racist’.

Please dispute me where you think I’m a racist!

I am also very happy that you’re doing well, but don’t appreciate you knocking me if I’m not doing as well right now!

My anger is aimed at a government that has allowed tens of millions of immigrants to come to this land and take all we have to offer and give little back in return, pay no taxes and send most money back home!

A government that has changed the American language from English to make life easier for the illegal’s to destroy America.

A government that is willing to give better and more healthcare benefits to these useless members of society at the cost of us who have fought and died for this country!

A government that is willing to destroy all that was good for America just to get the liberal vote!

I’m sure you voted for obama and will continue to do so in the coming election, but please try and think back on your choice of why you came to America.

Think of the poverty you were born into, the horror of sickness and disease in your little grass hut village.

Think of the toxic food, water and abuse you had to endure as a child.

        Think manny!

I’m sure you’re angry at governor Deal because he put many of your family members out of work, but it’s OK manny, because picking produce is no job for your good illegal relatives.

I’m sure you have more than enough room in your mansion to support all of those cotton pickin relatives of yours anyway!

The reason I am no longer a republican is because of the infestation of liberals like yourself.

For many years now the Republican Party has been corrupted by thousands of liberals joining ranks and corrupting all that was good about the party.

Just as the Catholic Church has been corrupted by pedophiles and homosexuals, the Republican Party has been corrupted by freaks like you!

It’s Ok though manny, because we the people know what has happened and we are ready to put an end to the insanity you and yours have caused this great nation!

So please manny, sit back and enjoy the coming show, and remember when things start to get a little hot, don’t try and defend the country that has given you so much, instead run back to the mudhole you were raised in because that is where you came from!

        And honestly manny, you belong!

God bless America and those who fight for her!!!!

      • Manny

Now I get it. I called you a racist because you mentioned if schools were run by black people 90% would fail or cheat. Something like that. After reading some of your posts I understand your anger regarding immigration. Thats why you were so adult when you made mention of the poverty I grew up in and making the comments about my family.

You’re really not that bright. I am not a “Mexican” which I’m sure is what you meant.

I didn’t grow up poor, my family isn’t poor and we aren’t Mexican. You make poor assumptions.

My family is from Hawaii and own Pineapple plantations. That’s where most of my family’s wealth comes from. I work because I want to, not to mention I’ve successful. I’m probably contributing to your retirement. I own my home in Georgia outright, and have a condo in LA, you can look on a map if your not sure where it is.

Its one thing to discriminate but to choose so based on my name, and first name is a nickname. That’s sad. I feel bad that you have so much hatred for some reason. I wish you luck, and however you pray to, if you pray, you get some forgiveness for you racism, hatred and for your family.

That’s really all one can do. You obviously have your mind made up. I thought this was an opportunity to share a thought or feelings about an article that was printed. I didn’t expect to be judged by someone I don’t know and obviously doesn’t know me or my family. Or by someone who’s so angry and rude.

      • Manny

And regarding your current situation and that you don’t appreciate my comments if you aren’t currently doing well.

Karma is a bitch and the fact that you might not be doing so well, you are the last one I want to give “my hard earned” money to. Not that I’ve ever had to work hard to be in the position I’m in. It’s called skills.

Should your family have issues during this crazy economy, just know that me and my family will be doing just fine, and you’ll get what you deserve, possible poverty, maybe loosing your home, unable to feed your family. You brought that onto yourself.

      • Void1972

Again I’m not angry at you or your people or your finanacial situation.

I am angry at my government that has put million of middle class Americans into poverty!

I have earned every dime I have on my own, and received nothing from my mommy and daddy as you have, so as far as your “Success” is concerned, please save it for someone who cares!

As far as people losing everything they have because of themselvs, your very wrong, because our own government has caused much of the horror for our people and now are trying to spend us out of the hole they dug!

Yes manny I agree Karma can be a bitch, and trust me, my Karma is treating me very well right now, But beware that fact that you reap what you sow!

God bless America and those who fight for her!!!!

      • Manny Robles

Thank you for your response. That’s the kind of dialog I was hoping for when I made my initial comments. Granted I am angry and should have thought about some of the things I wrote. I am really angry about the situation we are in and how we got here as a country.

I did not expect for be discriminated against because of my name or family or told that I grew up in poverty with my family. You still referred to me and my family as “your people”, we are Americans born and raised in America.

I understand the frustration. I don’t know why you felt like name calling and taking it out on me would make anything better.

That aside, I am concerned and angry about what OUR country has done to and for the middle class. Making it harder to keep jobs, find jobs, support your family, charging Middle America for whatever they feel is the thing to do, and giving handouts as if this country can afford it.

Like you, I have earned every penny that I have. I did not want my family to “support” me during my education, college or post grad. I wanted to learn to take care of myself. So I did, working 4 jobs during school to pay for my education, not once asking for a hand out from my family or the government.

My parents divorced when I was 4, so there was no mommy and daddy for me to fall back on. I was raised by my grandparents who taught me the value of work. I didn’t see my father until I was an adult.

My father’s side of the family is what this government would consider middle class. I see what they’re going through and how it’s become so hard for them to make it day to day. My father served this country in the military, as did my grandfather.

After 38 years with the same company, my father was laid off just short of his retirement, and given package that won’t support him or his family during his retired years. He’s had to go back to work, part time making $9.00 to support his family. His wife had to go back to work.

I do believe in Karma, I volunteer with a youth organization in Georgia when I in Georgia and in California while I’m working there. I work with charities coordinating food drives and clothing drives for their children.

Karma has been good to me as well. Knowing that I will reap what I sow helps me to sleep at night. I am proud to offer whatever I can for people that might not be as fortunate as I am, and for people who are finding themselves lost in the middle class shuffle. I hope to reap what I sow.

You can call me liberal, democrat, republican if it makes you feel better. I am whatever it is that is best for this country.
You’re probably correct. Maybe it’s not being the Republic that I have been all my life. Look at how horribly they performed while choosing a candidate. Makes me wonder if that’s what I want for my future or the future for middle class and their families in this country. Regardless, I want what’s best for this country. We currently do not have a leader in place that has made changes necessary to support the betterment of this country or its legal citizens.

I looked up the definition of liberal. I do have some of those traits, however, I hope that it’s in keeping within the laws of this country, not necessarily benefitting people that might be in this country illegally. Here’s what Webster’s Dictionary defines as a liberal. I don’t know if Mr. Webster was a liberal or a Republican.

Favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.
        • We are in need of reform from the way our country is doing business today.

Favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, especially as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
        • I agree that this is for those Americans that are legally American

Favoring or permitting freedom of action, especially with respect to matters of personal belief
        • As an American, you can believe in whatever faith you choose, or political party you support, maintaining your constitutional rights

Free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant: a liberal attitude toward foreigners.
        • I should be able to reply to a message and not be called a Mexican or illegal based on my name. Again tolerant of those that are American, legally. I love summers in Paris, I am tolerant of the Parisians, however if a person from Paris wanted to come to this country, I would expect them to follow the legal route just as any other person would.

Open-minded or tolerant, especially free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc.
        • If we keep doing what we are doing, we are going to end up in the same place. That’s the definition of insanity.

Characterized by generosity and willingness to give in large amounts
        • I am generous to those that are in need, giving my time and financially. Again, to support American’s in need.

VOID, I do understand what conerns you about this country, and like it or not, I have similiar concerns. I’m sorry that my name would lead you to think I would be one of those illegal concerns, or that my family is living off of your government (your hard earned money). I asure you that is NOT the case.

God Bless You and Your Family

      • Void1972

Please accept my apology for some of the language I used out of pure and simple frustration!

I do get a little heated sitting on my fat azz reading some of the post on this site, and I am now an arm chair warrior, but in my youth I was the real deal!

It is hard getting old because we don’t put the fear in the hearts of our enemy’s as we did in our youth!

I have written in the past for friends that are going through extremely tough times, but we have a band of Brothers ( White, Black, Spanish, Asian,) that have fought for America and continue to do so!

We take care of our own and take care of many others with what we have left. My brothers volunteer every Christmas and we give to those who have little.

We are Americans first and everything else second!

I love America with all of my heart and honestly believe that God has shown his light and love on this nation!

America has been leaving God for many decades now and we are currently reaping what we as a nation have sown!

After your last post I realize we have much in common and know many on this site are in the same frustrating boat!

I know we have the same battle ahead of us and I would be proud to fight side by side with you, you seem like an honest and good man!

God bless America and those who fight for her!!!!

    • GERRYH

You are right. My area is Maryland, the newspapers, tv media, radio are all taken over by Obummer and his crownies. All you need is a drivers license to vote in Maryland, you don’t even have to show proof who you are. A white resident went to vote under a Black politicians name in his own district without any type of verification and they were going to allow him to vote. There are mobs (100-200 between the ages of 18 to 24) of Blacks attacking unsuspecting Whites in Baltimore and other large cities. Yet, you do not hear about the attacks because they are caused by Blacks. Everything is hushed up. The voting booths were taken over by foreigners and illegal blacks voting under dead peoples names and the elderly’s names who are in nursing homes. There are many homes being purchased thru HUD in what use to be great areas to live in, now the HUD residents are destroying, looting and throwing draino bombs are homes and people. You don’t want to go out at night for fear of retaliation from black mobs. Marylanders are moving out of the state in large numbers also because of the high taxes, new regulations for businesses, the job market is at a all time low…we are over 11% without jobs. And what jobs are available are low paying. Government wants to take total control, they want to take the guns from the citizens…yet the criminals have access to all kinds of weapons.

      • 4everliberal

What drugs have you been taking. You are hallucinating. In presidential elections Bush vs Gore. Newspapers investigated these right wing propaganda and what they found were
26 cases of so called fraud and they were all felons with convictions that were not supposed to vote. when you state all those rhetorical statements it just proved that you got suckered again by the right wing media.

      • Tom W.

4everstupid, I pray you’re wearing your flak jacket! Naaaa, not really! LOL!!!

    • Tom W.

GOOD LOOKIN’ OUT FF!!! I salute you my Brother!

  • James Andrews

A crook is a crook…….Obama and his henchmen are no different. Time to get rid of him, and the rest of these dangerous people!

    • Diane

OK, we all know Obama is a tyrant, a theif an a liar
Now get out there and do something about it

      • Old Henry

Let’s see, a Muslim or a Mormon. What a choice. Neither believe in Jesus Christ. And….. We shall pay the price for it.

I will most likely vote for Gary Johnson…

      • Karolyn

Actually,, Old Henry, Muslims and Mormons both believe in Jesus Christ, not that that has to do with anything, especially since Obama is not a Muslim.

      • Tom W.

No YOU’RE wrong you old crone! The Jesus the Quran speaks of returns with the Mahdi to tell Christians that he really didn’t die on the cross for thier sins and that Allah is the TRUE god! BLASPHEMY!!!

The Jesus of the Mormons is Satan’s spirit brother!!!

Mormonism is an off-shoot of Freemasonry!!!

I’ve been praying for you a long time now Karlolyn, it’s almost time to dust my feet!!! You’d probably ENJOY a LONG HOT BATH wouldn’t ya old girl?! You’d BETTER wake up, JESUS DON’T PLAY!!!

      • Mike in MI

        Karolyn -
I hope you get back to this. Maybe you’ll learn something about believing.
When the Magi came to King Herod, talking about seeing “His Star” (the “Star” of the King of the Hebrews) and asking directions to his birthplace, Herod believed them. His believing action was to send
soldiers to the area and kill every male under 2 years of age.
That’s similar to the believing of the Muslims and the Morons. How about yourself? If you don’t believe ME then read the Koran and the Book of Morons. Then compare the significant parts to the Bible.
If you discover congruity then become one of them (but, don’t continue to think of yourself as a believer just because you visit some building with a bunch of other similar jerks every week.).
Your problem, like so many “priests”, is that you have never learned to READ. Your eyes pass over words; but, without comprehension.

      • Tom W.

The old crone is a wiccan MiM! She needs our prayers BAD!!! She’s as lost as Amelia Earhart!

    • BigBadJohn

and what – replace him with Romney?
      LOL too funny.

      Ron Paul 2012

      • Ernest T.

Yes for God and Country Romney is the Man!

      • Al

Yeah Ron Paul would have been good. but its Romney for november or we will be stuck with the new world order One Big Ass Mistake America = OBAMA

      • Power To The People

As much as I agree we need a 3rd candidate that is real and not a party plant, Paul can’t win and a vote for him is a vote for Obummer. Either way, we are screwed!

      • Manny Robles

Let’s see, “a Muslim or a Mormon. What a choice. Neither believe in Jesus Christ. And….. We shall pay the price for.”

Obama isn’t a Muslim, Yes Romney is Mormon, you do have that correct. Romney has had an amazing successful life, no doubt.

When it comes to brass tacks, whose money and wellbeing do you think he’s going to fight for? His or yours?

He got rich in part by purchasing companies that were in financial trouble. Great, however, instead of working to better those situations, he found it easier and more cost effective to close and consolidate, thus laying hundreds if not thousands of people off. Does he consider that creating jobs?

Does that make him a smart business man or a selfish one?
Is it easier to take the cash, build his wealth and move on or build a future for people employeed with those companies so that they can move on?
Is it better to teach someone to fish or give them fish and then walk away?

How can that make Romney a better choice? It’s just another selfish, successful business man at the cost of others. What are “the other” American’s, in this case, going to do when he has the potential the leader of this country? I’d pray as a muslim, a mormon, a christian, an idiot, I’d pray to the devil if I thought it would help this country to make the right decision. We can’t afford to him to use this country as his potential profit center of business. We are not a business, and can’t afford for him to treat us as one.

His own state has nothing good to say about him, not even the republican officals from his state. It’s sad.

        • Jeff

Spread the word. Romney is in it for Romney and those like him. He has led a very fortunate life and has never shown any courage, physically or politically. He demonstrated for the war in the 60s while arranging deferments to keep his rich butt out of harm’s way. Now, he wants to rewrite history and say he really wanted to go to war.

He never stood up to the Mormon Church when it treated Blacks as second-class citizens. That didn’t change until 1978 after other schools in the NCAA treated BYU like a pariah for several years.

He can’t even stand up to the most extreme elements in his party who denigrate women, undocumented workers, and anyone who doesn’t look like the guy on the Monopoly box.

The best you can hope for with Romney is that he’s been lying (pretty good bet) and doesn’t really believe the crazy stuff he’s been saying. Problem is, the Republicans in Congress do believe that nonsense and will hold him to those positions. Can you imagine President Romney standing up to the tea party idiots in Congress? Not on a ($10,000) bet!

      • Tom W.
      • Sanders

        Hey Jeff,
Its a good thing that Romney “wont stand up to the tea party” because right now they seem to be the only people in the halls of congress that have any sense of fiscal responsibility. And if Romney turns out to be like another “leader” like Boehner the spender, the tea party will be the only thing in his way to hold him to his promises of fiscal responsibility.

    • Nancy in Nebraska

I’m not sure it will make any difference at all. In fact, I’m SURE that nothing will change regardless of who holds the office of the president. The entire government is corrupted. It has become a machine that runs itself. Big money buys and controls everything. If only we could wake up the masses and make them see the truth. If only we could elect everyday “Joes” and not the ones with millions to spend. Even then, I believe that the election process is tainted. “He who counts the votes, has the power”. I can not see a solution but I KNOW that romney isn’t it!

      • Norman F.

Nancy, I like your style! And you are right as far as you go, but the rot goes farther than you say. The entire government, the White House, the Senate, and the House work together to beat us down. They are not separate entities. Every law is written to benefit them. The battle between the Democrats and Republicans is just for show. They go into office “well off” financially and leave as multi-millionaires. Every vote they take benefits them and damages the country and us. Getting rid of the President alone will solve nothing. The TEA Party has it right – we must have a clean sweep, replacing every member of Congress who has served more than six years as well as the President. The old saying: Congress is evil but MY member is good must be stopped.

    • Dave67

Romney and is big bank fianciers will be so much better for America. 3rd party is what we need and true liberals, not the BS definition of liberals that conservatives try and market.
The GOP and Democrats allowed this to happen. Do you really think this corptocracy have YOUR interests in mind?

    • Tom W.

8.2% in May ? Hell some places in Illinois that would be Great . What ever comes out of the Whitehouse is a lie . Remember which state Obum came from , they teach their politicians to lie real good in Illinois

    • Uncle Pat

Obama knew how to tell a lie way before he ever stepped foot into Illinois. He became polished in evading truism as an illegal resident of Illinois.

      • Diane

        You got that right

    • franlowcountry

8.2 — We wish! It is actually closer to 15% but who is telling the truth these days! If only people would learn to do a little research and stop listening to the mainstream media!

      • don

too bad personal liberty liberty digest and bob livingston can’t bee put in every computer. send it as an email to everyone. there would be an awakening in this country if everyone who got it. give them something in it that would make everyone look at it. we might have more voters in elections.

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Most people believe whatever they’re told. And if you repeat a lie over and over it becomes the truth, right?

      • Old Henry

I have been doing just that for quite some time don.

However, remember that there are none so blind as those who will not see.

Ah yes swan, “The Land of Stincoln” where we have the best government money can buy.

  • Louis Lemieux

Mitt Romney says he will bring down unemployment to at least 4% if elected president. I will never call him a liar if he’s not able to do it because I’m smart enough to understand he will be doing everything possible to accomplish his goal.

    • LTCB

No one should make promises they have no power to keep. As to Romney, I’ve serious concerns that he is not THAT impressed with the Constitution. No, it’s not the Bible. But, among governments of the world, it’s about as close as those guys get short of the Bible itself. Personally, I think Jesus ruling the earth would have some of today’s crowd complaining.

      • franlowcountry

I think Romney is a good, decent morally principaled person and that is 100 times better than what we have in the White House! Give him a chance. We already know what the other one will do. Our AA+ rating will be down lower than that if we have another 4 years of this hipocracy!

      • http://http// sophillyjimmy

Tell that to our current president LTCB, he promised he will not run for re election if our unemployment wasn’t around 5% and the same promise if he didn’t cut the deficit and so far when he took office unemployment was 7.2% and the deficit was less then half of what it is now. But he is still running and lying and some of the suckers are still following him like he is the Messiah.
And as far as people complaining if Jesus was ruling the earth right now, that is true only because His name is not allowed to be mentioned or shown in public buildings, next our currency(notice I do not say money since money is backed by something of value) won’t have In God We Trust if this guy gets re elected, it may say In Allah We Trust or In Trayvon We Trust or even In Gays We Trust but God is a false deity to Obama and many of the liberals.

      • demsagainst obama

“Tell that to our current president LTCB, he promised he will not run for re election if our unemployment wasn’t around 5% and the same promise if he didn’t cut the deficit and so far when he took office unemployment was 7.2% and the deficit was less then half of what it is now.”

Someone needs to dig up recordings of those “promises” and play them several times each day on primetime TV.

“Mitt Romney says he will bring down unemployment to at least 4% if elected president.”

If you believe that I have a nice bridge for sale……

Romney is already talking tax cuts – he will run the debt up so high the bankruptcy of the USA will be the only option.

      • Power To The People

So BBJohn do you favor tax increases by the POTUS who have given us the most massive debt in modern times? Raise out taxes 100% and it will not make a dent in the debt. That argument is not logical…when has any tax increase actually been used to pay debt? The answer is none. The thieves on Capital Hill just spend more while telling us its what we need and want.

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Sorry, I read that wrong. I thought you were saying that he would.

      • BigBadJohn

        Power To The People
I believe in a balanced budget. Spending has to be cut but taxes need to be raised – at the very least Bush’s tax cut needs to expire.

EVERY TIME there has been major tax cuts, the national debt has gone up. Reagan TRIPLED the national debt, GWB doubled it again. The GOP will not let Bush’s tax cut die – so the debt keeps going up.

    • Ernest T.

He has my vote. if anyone can do it a free enterprise business man can.

I am a white 75 year old and when I was 5 I was picking cotton just like the hired hands were and I followed the wagon breaking corn from their stalks and throwing the ears into the wagon. so lets not throw all whites into a bunch or make all blacks as slaves . It didn’t happen on that farm.

At least the socialist programs of the WPA and CCC era accomplished something. They built a beautiful National Park System and they built roads and bridges all over the nation. Pretty bad that this new generation of socialists cannot even come up with a good Soviet era “Five year Plan”.

    • Jim

Have you seen or talked to anyone in the last two generations? They wouldn’t know what a tool was if you hit’em upside the head with it. Now I’m not saying every single one of them, but 1 out of 1000 probably has never done a day’s labor in their lives. We speak of them as the technology kids, when they are nothing of the sort, they are incompetent no nothings. Because they have grown up with gadgets, gizmos and doddle-wagers doesn’t make the technology savvy, it make them users and consumers nothing more. Real tech is knowing how water gets to the faucet, electricity gets to you house, what is the age old Radio Frequency (RF) that make most of their worthless crap work as it does. Foolish are we to think they are prepared to take on the future, and shame on us for pampering them instead of preparing them to do real battle in this screwed up world we created for them. My apologies for the rant, but I’ve seen too much, and it is disparaging!

      • http://http// sophillyjimmy

I have two daughters that are now women, I instilled education in their heads from a very young age and to reinforce that, I would take them to the prison I worked in on payday just to show them who my bosses where and without exaggeration from the top of the administration which was the superintendent down to the wardens and deputy wardens, they were so corrupt and sleezy I would say they were an armband away from being inmates themselves and when they would come over to say hello to my daughters I would pull my girls away from them and tell them not to get close to them because they are perverts. My showing them what a mere high school education got you in life had allot to do with them both graduating from prestigious Universities and when they were engaged to their now husbands I would still do all of their car repairs and home improvements including plumbing, electrical and HVAC work but I insisted that their husbands worked along side with me to learn how things work, and now both men still want to learn more whenever I repair something for them.
But you are right about todays generation, they know nothing about using tools, they are whizzes when it comes to computers when I am still in the Manual typrwriter era but I am slowly learning how to use a computer but don’t think I could ever learn how to repair them since technology passed me by, but I have well over $150,000 worth of tools for everything you could think of and I want my son in laws to learn how to use every one of them and when I die, I will divide the tools equally to each of them depending on their strong suits and together they will never have to call someone to make a repair either on their cars or their homes and right now I am teaching them to get their HVAC certification so they could always hustle a buck together if they have to and also to be able to survive if our country collapses since it is anybody’s guess if Obama will get re elected and God help us all if he does get 4 more years.

      • independent thinker

“Have you seen or talked to anyone in the last two generations?”

Depends on what you mean by the last two generations. i am 65 and everyone I grew up with, while most of us didn’t have to pick cotton, were expected to work and help out. We helped weed the garden, we helped repair the family car, we helped in the family business whether a dry cleaners, a retail store, a small manufacturing plant, etc.. We also had to help with household maintaince such as re-roofing the house and painting the house.

On a related subject how many of you could build a passable dwelling without power tools? How many of you can SAFELY fell, limb, and cut
up a tree with only an axe and crosscut or buck saw?

      • Bill Foltz

This is not particularlyinresponse to your posting, Jim:

A lot of these “funny things” have happened in America over the last three and one half years.

A funny thing about these funny things: They are actually not funny at all. They are sad and scary.

I think that it is high time for an administration which is not so “funny.”

    • eddie47d

Two problems LTCB the Republicans refuse to allow or vote for any infrastructure projects (government jobs). Those private companies who control the markets (who the Republicans say are the job creators) refuse to fire up their businesses. Now there are some government jobs out there and some private companies are hiring but overall the Republican message is hold off until elections so the unemployment numbers remain high. If Obama can’t get anything done in job creation he sinks at the polls. To say this isn’t deliberate by the Republicans in Congress would be awful naive.

      • Tom W.

        You’re the naive one moron!

    • Diane

      So are you promoting Socialism?

      • Ernest T.

No , it sounded like hard work and self reliance to me. get the Federal Government out of our lives and out of our pockets so we can afford to care for our families and freely give to the charities we want.

      • Tom W.

        Well said Ernest T.!

good god to suggest that people on welfare should work would give most of them a stroke.

  • Jim

Gold standard removed, printing money out of thin are for over half a century, what did/could we expect… prosperity, life/world improvements, thriving industrials, manufacturing, energy technologies beyond our wildest dreams! Nope, got none of that, but we have money to burn, just in case of an emergency. Hey that’s what we should start printing on our monopoly currency, in case of emergency, burn this note!

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” – Psalm 9:17 (KJV)

This country is not better than a lot of other countries. We have been brain washed to believe this but it is not true. I read an article the other day and they posted a list of the ten best countries to live in and I don’t believe the USA was even on that list. There are countries out there that don’t steal your money with huge taxes, outrageous inflation and so forth. There are other countries where you are free to worship as you please and travel as you please. It’s true there are worse countries, but there are better countries out there also.

  • Jaesun

If you think government has or even can solve America’s problems, you are delusional. All of the so called “problems” are actually symptoms of government’s initiation of force to ensure their commands are obeyed. Expecting government to cure our symptoms is like allowing an armed robber to safeguard a bank. Wake up and smell what you’re shovelling.

    • BigBadJohn

Agree, but PEOPLE- You – Me – everyone, has to be willing to give up your so-call benefits.

No government prescription drug plan, no Social Security, No medicare, no welfare, cut military spending, etc etc.

      • Power To The People

Now we are getting somewhere…. maybe a little harsh but in the right direction. There are hundreds of government programs that could be killed tomorrow that would save billions.

      • Al

No you need to keep social security for the slaves who are working to day to help pay taxes so the junkies and worthless that don’t want to work can be fed some one needs to take care of these tired working class slaves .

      • kkflash

Maybe you, but not me and not everyone, need to give up their government benefits. HALF the nation is collecting from the government. The other half that I belong to is paying for it. The paying half has no government provided benefits to give up. I’ve been out of a job for eighteen months now and haven’t collected one thin dime from the government during that time, or any other time in my life. We’ve lived off our savings and my wife’s modest income from her daycare business, as people should when tough times hit them. I busted my butt working one paying job or another since I was 12 years old (that’s not a misprint), and learned to live within our means. If half the country wasn’t expecting the other half to support them, and voting for lying, cheating crooks to continue those benefits, we really would be the greatest nation on earth. Until that changes, we are just a nation in decline, doomed to social and economic failure. So, are you part of the problem, or part of the solution?

      • Nancy in Nebraska

People who live off the government can not or will not understand that this is other people’s money. They insist that “the government” should take care of the people. They are in absolute denial that the government has NO money but what they take from other people. They refuse to see that it is forcing you and I to pay for them. I believe that if we weren’t forced to pay for others we would gladly help those who needed help. But the level of assistance would not include houses, cars, cell phones etc… If you are not employed and are relying on others for charity you should only expect a roof over your head and food in your belly. To be able to spend other people’s money however you wish is wrong.

      • http://yahoo catsueme

lets wait just a sec.I have paid into this farce SS sinceI started to work at 16 its not your money that I am now getting its mine. Blame the politico for robbing these monies to satisfy their spend lusts. same as medicare/ medicade money was taken from working people for thei benifit when they are older and cannot no longer work as I am.

      • independent thinker

Exactly catsueme, the money for SS and Medicare was taken from us mostly without our permission and we are entitled to get it back with interest compounded over our working lives.

      • Nancy in Nebraska

catsueme, I hope you didn’t think that my post was referring to people who paid into and earned their SS benefits. That wasn’t my intent. I was speaking of welfare, food stamps, unemployment etc… But since you caused me to think about SS, I will say that many people are collecting benefits who shouldn’t be! But those who paid into the system for years deserve their payout. It isn’t a handout! You paid for it!

      • nc

Big bad john. I live in a small southern town of about 6000 people with quite a few Mom and POP businesses> Ask them how long they could survive if Social Security payments were to end in our county!!! Do you know how much is paid out each month in SS payments? I saw a statement some time ago that over 90% of those payments were going back into LOCAL ECONOMIES within 30 days of the time they are received as the poor and middle class pay their rent, buy their food, buy their clothes and!
pay their medical and drug bills(they are mostly old you know)
SS payments have been the single biggest and longest running federal stimuli of local economies in this country for years! Shut them off and small businesses, our largest employers are headed for ruin!! and the streets of this country fill with the dead and dying for the first time in our history!!

      • eddie47d

You hit the nail on the head NC and Social Security is one of the best programs out there to keep Businesses humming and lives intact. Neither my great grandma or grandma received SS and were dependent on the family. My mother only receives my fathers portion of SS plus his union pension. It may be nice to have a little side cash invested but the majority of Americans aren’t that lucky. The fact that SS was abused back in the late 60′s by politicians doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good plan.

      • BigBadJohn

Thank you everyone for making my point for me. Social Security is one of those untouchable third rails in politics – it affects so many people who have paid into if for so long. Yet future obligations for SS are on the order or 75 TRILLION! HOW CAN WE EVER PAY THAT????

Another of those third rails is military spending which right now is 900 billion – almost one trillion of the deficit is spent on the military. Romney has said he will cut taxes and increase military spending. Just how long do you think we will remain solvent???

      • Void1972

        Give up what?

We the workers already give up way too much in taxes for……

Government employees average $70,000 yearly while we the people average $40,000 and are paying for all of the government workers!

Private sector unemployment is at 8.2% and government unemployment is at 4%!
Do you think something has to give before the bubble burst?

When we have a country that allows 30 million illegal immigrants to suck off the workers taxes, get free housing, free food, free health care, free education, a $800 check every month for each child they produce (a future democrat), we have a country on the verge of disaster.

When we have a government that supports an entitlement system that has created millions of government zombies that are paid for by us workers from birth to death (70% black, 50% Spanish and 35% white children currently being born out of wedlock and all potential future democrats), we have a country on the verge of disaster!

The entire system is broken and I afraid to say the only hope for true change will be civil war.

God bless America and those who fight for her!!!!

  • George E

One can only imagine what the unemployment rate would be now if that money ($800B ARRA) had been left in the private sector for entrepreneurs and small businesses to spend and invest in their businesses. Government did what government usually does with our money. They waste it on non-productive projects for their benefit, not for the benefit of the American public.

  • Glenn

What is the incentive of the President and Congress? Power and greed. They are paid well by accomplishing this goal. If we overhaul the government and change their incentive to accomplishments such as balancing the budget, and restricting their own powers, we will be great again. The system was overhauled over 200 years ago, but unfortunately, overhauled again over the last 70 years. We have the roadmap in place, we just don’t have anybody with the incentive to follow it.

  • ROGER, Irish-Canadian LIBERTARIAN

THIS is the main reason ( directly andindirectly), the U.S. and by extnsion the whole world is in trouble. I pass this article on from Adrian Salbuchi

    America’s Total War
    Published: 4 June, 2012, 17:17
    Edited: 4 June, 2012, 17:17

President Obama promised change, but there’s little of it in his war
policies, which are harsher than those of George W. Bush. US drone bombings
often target not just “terrorists” but all “military-age males in a strike
    zone as combatants.”
“Unless there is explicit posthumous intelligence proving otherwise”, that
As an extensive recent report in The New York Times explains, for all
practical purposes Obama is applying what can best be described as a Total
War Doctrine, bringing government, military and media propaganda PsyWar
    under one strategy.
The concept of “Total War” – war involving not just the military but all
civilians irrespective of age or sex, together with the entire
infrastructure of a country – became a horrible reality during the 20th
century, driven for the most part by steering scientific discoveries and
technological progress towards unlimited use in warfare. Total War is very
much alive today and is being spearheaded by the United States and its
This is being abetted on all fronts by US, European and global mainstream
media that willingly oblige. In the case of Obama’s Total War Doctrine, the
media go along with US official policy, and describe the murder of innocent
people who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when
American democracy-building drone bombs fall, as “militant combatants”.
You see, Total War requires intense and constant psychological warfare to
convince public opinion – both at home and abroad – that “our boys” fighting
“to spread peace and democracy”, always do the “the right thing” by killing
“the right people” who threaten America, Europe, Israel and the rest of the
West; in other words, by only killing “militant terrorist combatants”.
That’s the way Orwellian Newspeak has described US-led wars since 1945 -
whether fought by the US alone, or together with allies like Britain, EU
countries and Israel, or by puppet proxies. The list is very long: Korea,
Vietnam, Panama, Dominican Republic, Palestine, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan,
Libya, Iran, Africa, South America, Cambodia, Laos, Cuba, El Salvador,
Falklands, Nicaragua, Grenada, Serbia…The death-toll runs into the tens of
millions and has kept rising and rising.
Who’s next? Syria, Iran? Sudan? North Korea? Venezuela? After 9/11, things
    went from bad to worse.
The world today is confronted with a Super-Power hegemon increasingly
out-of-control that harbors a small, compact and extremely powerful group of
Global Power Masters embedded deep inside US/UK/EU public and private power
structures, controlling unbeatable navies and air forces, super high-tech
troop armies, unmanned drones, military satellites, napalm, cluster and
bunker-buster bombs, electronic surveillance, and secret weaponry like the
    unexplained HAARP installations.
Add to this, the tens of thousands of ballistic missiles and nuclear bombs
pointed at target countries by the small Western nuclear club – the US, UK,
France and Israel – and things start looking bleak indeed.
All of it is backed by unlimited funding – both official and clandestine -
in the US and Allies. And when money falls short, well… there are always
“other means and sources”…Which is when spook agencies launder and recycle
trillions of drug, arms and organized crime monies to finance covert and
illegal operations; or when top officials engineer Iran-Contra type deals…
It all adds up to “America’s Total War” policy. Not total war against any
one specific country, but against ALL countries the US, UK, France and
Israel believe support “terrorists”, or that have sovereign national
governments they don’t like, or – more pragmatically – countries blessed
with huge oil, gas, mining, water and food reserves that the Exxons, BPs,
Monsantos, Chevrons and Barrick Golds want to lay their grubby hands on,
only to then recycle trillion-dollar profits through JPMorganChase, Goldman
    Sachs, CitiCorp, HSBC, Deutsche Bank…
America’s Total War Machine costs trillions of US, UK and European taxpayer
dollars and euro, to which we must add further trillions created out of thin
air by the Federal Reserve and European Central Banks’ printing presses,
which further erode the dollar and the euro so that, in the end, the whole
world ends up paying the bill for America’s Total War through currency
America’s Total War on Terror is fought everywhere, against everyone, and
    has no end in sight.
Those tens of millions of naïve Americans and Europeans who thought Obama
could change things ushering in a “kinder, gentler world”, should look
again: when it comes to US foreign policy, there never was and there never
will be any real difference between Republicans and Democrats.
So, if you happen to be just walking down the streets of some town in
Pakistan or Afghanistan, and by chance stroll by a US “terrorist target” and
    you’re killed by a drone bomb, you are no longer a “civilian casualty”;
you’re not even “collateral damage” anymore! Because – Presto! – the Obama
Total War Doctrine has just turned you into a “militant terrorist
Naturally, when drone attacks kill 30, 40 or 100 civilians the US officially
brand as “militant terrorists”, they know full well that they haven’t got a
clue whom they’re murdering: it could be a local pizza delivery boy, or a
milkman, or a high school student, or a newspaper vendor or… what the
heck!!Simply brand him/her a “militant terrorist combatant” and close the US
Military’s briefing report. The Western media will anyway obediently report
that more “militant terrorists” were just killed in America’s Total War on
Terror (or Britain’s, or the EU’s, or Israel’s…).
And don’t you dare say that the Obama Doctrine carries no US
Stars-and-Stripes style Justice: because should it later be “posthumously
proven” that you we not a militant terrorist but just some guy walking his
dog, then America might re-label you as a “civilian casualty”, or even
“collateral damage”. Gosh, I’m feeling better already!!
When the US went into Global Total War on Terrorism mode, these inhuman,
hypocritical, criminal, deadly and lying tactics became an integral part of
Western-style “democracy” unleashed on our troubled world.
Today, billions of people are wondering where all this is taking us; when
    will it stop?
The key question is: how can we stop a group of immensely powerful countries
that are way out-of-control? If we are ever to achieve some partial peace,
we must first put an end to today’s Total War.

Just who are you talking to or about with all the Nazi war criminals in your country, now that was a war machine, and it must take a very special country to like them, you must be proud.

    • ohoh

Based on the article, it’s doubtful he endorses the dark side of Argentina’s politics. Perhaps it makes it easier for him to recognize the same problems here. Sometimes its good to look at the issues, rather than reflexively attack with ad hominem arguments.

  • brett

funny how the arra that the transition team was proposing is barely recognizable in the bill that was passed. what happen to the public option? individual mandate was tacked on to appease the insurance companies ( originally proposed by the heritage foundation in the 80′s, picked up by newt and offered to the clintons in ’96 long before romney and obama ). i don’t see how altruism could ever be seen as fascist. and your view of europe is as skewed as your view on, well everything ( sorry have to go ). over all tone: negative and hateful with just the right peppering of fear.

    • kkflash

The ARRA is a gigantic lie, and you are a fool. The “public option” should never have been an option, as government in this country has no business providing universal healthcare. The individual mandate is likewise unconstitutional. You need to remove you head from your posterior so you can see that US government is out of control, out of bounds and out of our money!

      • Dave67

The Preamble to the Constituion says what? We spend meore in our private HC system than anyone else in the industrialized world and we have the 31st system in the world. This system turns a profit by keeping people sick. Most people in this country works for a corporation, they are the end users of HC, not you or I. You do not have a right to be a burden on society as the system before the new HC law was ok with. You do not complain about the maniditory Auto Insurance do you? This BS HC law mandates you go out and get PRIVATE HC INSURANCE.
        We need a Public option…

      • ohoh

The preamble says nothing that would support the concept of national healthcare. The “promote the general welfare” language was a limiting clause to assure that when the federal government exercised its limited enumerated powers, it did so in an even-handed way without preferences or privileges. It is the progressives who have tried to pervert this clause into an enabling clause to expand federal power and change the nature of our government to something never intended by the Founders.

  • BJ.Holmes

Obama has given us so many problems that we need God’s help to restore our once
glorious nation. Read your Bible. He allows evil takeovers when His people are no longer obedient. The very idea of allowing the worship of Allah in our Godly nation is worse than stupid. Our founding fathers knew nothing about Allah except to keep it away, when the Freedom of religion was granted in the Constitutuion.

    • ohoh

Actually, some of the Founders knew more about Islam than most people today. Thomas Jefferson did the first English translation of the Koran in an effort to understand the troublesome Muslims. Smart guy, that Jefferson. That’s why, when he warned us about the Muslims, he knew what he was talking about. Jefferson had an advantage, though. Unlike today where PC thought police and multiculturalism advocacy prevail, Jefferson lived in a more objective time…much more rational, enlightened and capable of dealing with such sensitive issues than the ideologically driven PC bullies allow us to be today.

  • Tim W.

You say “Out of the ashes will rise a new system, hopefully a sound one on a gold standard.” Is that the answer, total collapse? You say “hopefully.” There are no guarantees that the next “system” will be better that the one we have. In fact, the possibilities are that we end up in a “system” more oppressive and totalitarian. I too was of the belief that, “just let it collapse and rebuild from scratch.” I have thought that through many sleepless nights and now I’m not so sure that is the way to go. Would it not be better to incrementally claw our way back to the founding principles and intensions? To return to the nation from which we have come. Maybe I’m just naive and idealistic but, at least we know what we will end up with. Let’s not be affraid to endure the pain of hardship. The “Great Depression” served this nation well. Out of it was born the “Greatest Generation.” “Necessity is the mother of invention.”

    • Nancy in Nebraska

How would you propose that we claw our way back? Where would we even begin? What would even be a first step considering that those in power are not willing?

      • Evil Genius

Nancy, we do have at our disposal the option of a Constitutional Convention. If the people can get a 2/3 of the states to convene one, that would put Congress and the POTUS on notice that “we ain’t taking any more shit” from the pompous a-holes that fill Congress nor the POTUS and his clearly illegal and unconstitutional laws he has signed since 2009. I have already written my governor and Secretary of State alluding to this fact.

  • Alex

The economy is in much better shape than it was when President Obama took office, despite an announced pledge by Republikkkan leaders to focus on one thing and one thing only: limiting Obama to a single term in the White Guy’s House.

How simple you sheeple are not to see that rather than working to create jobs, stop terrorists, transition to a more sensible and sustainable energy future, or help America’s struggling families, the GOP has worked trielessly, for four years, to hurt Americans in the hope that they will lay the blame on the president. It’s not working as well as the Koch Brothers would like, and will hopefully not be working at all come November.

    • BigBadJohn

“the GOP has worked trielessly, for four years, to hurt Americans in the hope that they will lay the blame on the president.”

True enough but Obama did nothing! When he was elected he was handed a clear mandate with majority in both house and senate. Instead of driving an agenda, he tried to play nice with the GOP. Even his health care reform he did not drive, but told congress to come up with something. He fiddled while Rome burned!

He even let the GOP drive the war on terror. The GOP started riding him about being soft on terror – so he started using everything at his disposal to fight terror – and has killed off 90% of Al Qaeda leadership. He even signed the republican sponsored NDAA – instead of vetoing it. Obama has done nothing! Now instead of minimizing the MIC he is in their back pocket.

Vote for the constitution – write in Ron Paul

      • Dave67

Please check the number of filibusters the GOP did in the Senate…The GOP swept into the House… their biggest achievement?

To reaffirm “In God We Trust” as the national motto.

The GOP are more interested in power than righting the economic ship because they know, if the economy gets better… Obama wins the WH again… The GOP are bent on power.

      • Buster the Anatolian

Dave67 why don’t you check them then post the details of just when they occured.

Alex, you are in denial of where we really are and what awaits us. Obummer has made everything worse…..there is no way to repay the debt he and Congress have given us. The stimulus was a crony cover for special interests. The work force is smaller than it was 4 years ago….how is that better?

We are about to collapse from our debt… is that better?

We are hated by more people in the world…how is that better?

Government is growing faster than ever…how is that better?

We have a AG who is a liar and racist…how is that better?

      • Dave67

“Alex, you are in denial of where we really are and what awaits us. Obummer has made everything worse…..there is no way to repay the debt he and Congress have given us. The stimulus was a crony cover for special interests. The work force is smaller than it was 4 years ago….how is that better?

Spending growth compared to every president since Reagan is at a low. Reagan tripled our debt, Bush 2 doubled it and the economic collapse that occurred under Bush 2′s watch cause the Gov to take in less revenue while having to keep the responsibilties we had since befor Obama. We got out of the great depression through spending, not tax cuts and spending cuts… Nice try though…
We are about to collapse from our debt… is that better?

Most of our debt occurred under GOP POTUS and due to their policies of tax cut and spend. How has sending good paying jobs overseas affected tax receipts? Who on earth gives out tax cuts while we are engaged in two ground wars? Bush 2 was a complete moron
We are hated by more people in the world…how is that better?

Obama is responsible for this? Prove that one….

Government is growing faster than ever…how is that better?

That is a falsehood. From the NYT

“When Barack Obama ran for president four years ago, he appalled some Democrats by saying Ronald Reagan had been a transformational president.

Three years into his presidency, he has exceeded Reagan in one area: reductions in government jobs. Over all — including a decline of 12,000 public sector jobs in the Labor Department report for December — government employment is down 2.6 percent over the last three years, compared to a decline of 2.2 percent in the early Reagan years. That is a record”

You’d think the GOP would be giddy as schoolgirls… But nope…

We have a AG who is a liar and racist…how is that better?

Prove the racist bit…. AG Gonzales, Meese. Ashcroft, how were they? Holder is just another in a long line of BS artists in the AG role.

    • kkflash

Alex, the economy is NOT in better shape since Obama took office, unless you measure economic success by the number of people on food stamps. The deficit is much larger, as is the national debt. Unemployment is higher. GDP growth in real inflation-adjusted terms is negative and worsening. Only a blind fool would suggest that Obama has done any economic good at all.

Trying to blame the fiasco of Obama’s presidency on the GOP, as you’ve tried to do, is even more stupid than saying the economy is better. Obama had both houses of Congress in his political control when he took office, yet they accomplished nothing, except unconstitutional, unaffordable healthcare legislation that most of the people don’t want.

One thing has become more effective since Obama took office: official government-sponsored lies have been improved to the point where idiots like you are easily be convinced they are true. Another thing they’ve improved is government’s ability to monitor, control and coerce the citizens into doing what they’re told to do by the political class. Individual freedom and liberty has been crushed to the point it’s only an illusion, yet fools like you still believe in the facade rather than the reality behind it. The reality is Obama is a liar, a cheat, and a thief who deserves impeachment. His socialist supporters in Congress are likewise self-serving crooks and thugs, who deserve the same.

      • Dave67

What policies of Obama specifically that made the economy worse?

Just because the DEMS had more members in the House and Senate does not means they have control. The GOP have put forth a record number of filibusters in 2009 to prevent ANYTHING from getting done. There is a conservative wing of the DEM party, there are NO liberals in the GOP. Thats why it is easier to harness the GOP’s power.

in 2010, the GOP crowed about winning all these seats in the House… their biggest achievement thus far? Reaffirming “In God We Trust” as the national motto. S&P cited GOP obstruction to anything Obama wants to do as the major factor in the credit downgrade… (read the report)

The GOP care more about winning the WH than helping the country… And don’t you just want more of 2001-2006?

Sadly, so many here parrot the GOP/Faux news talking points memos.

Just keep magnifying what’s “wrong” and keep it going! People don’t realize how much they contribute to the woes of the world just by their negative thoughts. It ‘s just that the negative are louder.

    • Nancy in Nebraska

Oh Alex, how could you be so naive? Nothing is better. Everything is being propped up. We are hanging by a thread. The numbers you hear from the government are all false. Take the unemployment rate; they just stopped counting the millions of people who no longer qualify for benefits. They don’t count the true unemployed. Take inflation; they’ve changed the way they calculate inflation so that the numbers sound better than the reality. You go to the grocery store! You KNOW that prices are up beyond 4%! You know it! But you still believe that things are improving? The government is doing everything they can to put off the crash but it is coming! The government is making banks buy our bonds so they can continue to spend. They are keeping interest rates at 0% to get others to buy our bonds. Keeping interest rates below the rate of inflation steals money from those who have saved. The true value of their savings drops everyday. The major banks are “swapping” interest rates (derivatives) to prop up the dollar. In 2008, the banks brought down the country with $176 trillion dollars in derivatives. They are now holding $244 trillion dollars in derivatives. What do you think is going to happen? The crash is coming! There is nothing that can stop it. It is already happening, you just haven’t heard about it yet. Picture a train as it derails. After the wheels leave the tracks, momentum carries the train further until it eventually crashes. Our economy is that train. We have jumped the track. We are in the momentum stage right before the crash. It is coming. It can’t be stopped. I suggest you open your eyes and prepare for the crash. You can’t say you didn’t know it was coming!

to Alex,, Thank God you are out there . I’m so happy to see a smart person who has been paying attention all this time. The more I read on here , the more I wonder what planet all these people have come from. Thank you, you have made my day.

      • Alex

Thank you for your kind words, Sheryn. Bob Livingston’s PLD websight gives me a wonderful reading of the current Reich Wing mindset. While most often I feel that I am screaming into a hurricane of ignorance, fear, and just plain hatred, there are a number of informed PDL readers to set light upon the predictable Faux Noose squawking points.

I will most freely confess right here that some of the angriest and, yes, hateful postings on the PLD have come from me but I do try to keep things in check. Sometimes, though, the absolutely incredulous and ill-informed postings pull the cranky old man out of me.

The Personal Liberty Digest is testament to the perceived openness and fairness of host Bob Livingston. Though his political and economic ideals are ladled from the same non-Progressive cesspool of fear, greed, and environmental ruin that so many Amerikkkan xenophobes, gun-toters, and would-be Robber Barons lap from, Mr Livingston is always kind, if misguided, and will not tolerate much vitriol. I know this for a fact, and try to make a point to acknowledge the meaner things I write.

So please, Sheryn, contribute your thoughts to the PLD so that these very often kind and hopeful Fright Wingers might see the Light of Human Progress!

        • Jeff

Keep up the good work. These postings may be the only information some of these people get that isn’t filtered by Fox or AM radio,

        • Bob Livingston

          Dear Alex,

You write: “The Personal Liberty Digest is testament to the perceived openness and fairness of host Bob Livingston.” Thank you.

You write: “Though his political and economic ideals are ladled from the same non-Progressive cesspool of fear, greed, and environmental ruin that so many Amerikkkan xenophobes, gun-toters, and would-be Robber Barons lap from, Mr Livingston is always kind, if misguided, and will not tolerate much vitriol.” Ha. Funny guy.

          Best wishes,

      • Jay

Alex’s only reason for being here, on PLD, is to stir-up strife and hatred, nothing more! Most here, if not all, understand the twisted humanity that is Alex, and under such consideration, we extend to him, our sincerest pity!

Is America better off today then 4yrs ago?

Turn on your new obama issued (if you’re a minority) high def plasma TV and turn on to any station.

You can change to any of your 1000 free obama issued cable TV stations, and maybe 4 channels out of the thousand will be of interest to a human being.

The rest only a liberal could enjoy!

50% of the so called shows are pure and simple demented evil crap!

Some of your favorites like Jersey Shore, House Wives of every freak county in America, Pregnant at 14, Two guys and another guy, gay this, gay that, sluts, whores, and every channel in-between demoralizing white America is a black channel promoting how blacks made America, how blacks invented everything from peanut butter to the computer, how they won the civil war for us, how they built this country, how they fought and died and defeated the Germans in WWI and shot the Nazis out of the skies in WWII all of the blessings they have put forth into our grace.

I have friends that come to this country and after watching ten minutes of TV, swear that blacks are 90% of our population!

Make a call on your new obama phone to any of your demented friends and ask them about the amount of free minutes you get for being black in America!

Surely because of your skin tone you are entitled to a free phone, TV, car, house, food, health care, gold teeth, $300 sneakers, and everything else the “white devil” possesses because you’re entitled to it!

Because the great communist told you so!

30 million illegal’s living off our hard earned tax dollars with the same “obama given entitlements” that the current slaves enjoy because the great communist told them so!

Yep, for many of you life in America is a beautiful thing!

For us working American’s, life is extremely difficult and getting harder every day!
Prices for everything have doubled in the last 4yrs.

Food, Energy, Oil, Gas, Insurances have all doubled, but if you live off my hard work, you haven’t noticed.

You haven’t noticed my overtime being taxed at a higher percentage while I need to work another job to feed my family.
You are too busy watching Oprah on my TV.

You haven’t noticed me riding my bike 12 miles to my first job because I can’t afford the gas.
You are too busy playing ball with your new $300 sneakers that I bought you.

You haven’t noticed that my refrigerator is empty.
You are certified obese because of the food you choose to get with your obama card I have provided you with.

You haven’t noticed how sick and demented television has become because you’re just happy to be watching it for free!

You haven’t noticed that my 401K has gone up 20% but the dollar has declined 50%.

You haven’t noticed anything because you’re a liberal.

You can all squeal with joy over how your getting over on us hard working American’s.

You can spew all the tales and lies to justify your horribly shallow and useless unproductive lives.

You can continue to dream of an America where all you need to be is black to extort everything the white man works for.

You can continue to hope for the communist change the obamanation has in store for America.

      Hope and Change!

      Forward Comrades!

You can only hope this never comes to light!

God bless America and those who fight for her!!!!

  • Jaesun

Is it moral for anyone to force you to follow their opinion at the point of a gun? That is how government has gained an iron fisted control over the American population. Is government moral? Does morality carry a double standard clause?

  • Cecil Brooks

You know it’s amazing how people in this country cut down it’s elected officials. So many people say how dishonest they are and how they don’t keep their promises. What I would like to ask is how many people now days are honest, really honest? How many people keep their promises, the promises they make to others? Look at our society today. Look how people lie to one another with out even batting an eye. The dishonesty in the work place, how people call in sick when their not even sick. Dishonest about their hours, they take home things that don’t belong to them.

When someone asks you to go out and get drunk, do you say no. I think everyone knows that getting drunk is morally wrong but a lot of people do it anyways. How about cheating on your spouse, lying to a police officer when you get pulled over. If everyone was to take a good look at their own lives and was perfectly honest with them selves, they would see how corrupt their own lives are. But yet we demand a president that’s honest with us. We demand a president that will walk the straight and narrow, but yet you don’t.

The presidents of this country reflect the people. If you will violate your conscience, they will. If society as a whole lies at times, than the president will. They come from this society. If society as a whole is dishonest then we get a president that is dishonest. If society as a whole will sell out their own families to an evil life, than our presidents will sell us out to other evil governments. When “YOU” change, than you will get a president that is changed. Our presidents come from you folks. THEY ARE YOU.

    • Power To The People

Kind of a broad brush you paint with don’t you think? All people in the USA are like Obummer?

      • Cecil Brooks

Most people will lie, at least to get out of a hard place. Most people will sell out what they consider dear to them. What would you call flirting with someone other than your spouse if its not a sell out. Doing and acting in ways that could cause a divorce, that’s selling out your spouse and your children. People break the law all the time when they drive and in many other ways but yet they demand the president to keep all the laws. This country is hypocritical. I guarantee, the government will not change until the people do.

    • Dilligaf

This country, it’s govt, it’s military, it’s media and entertainment is owned and run by Zionist-Ashkenazi Jews—not real jews, not God’s chosen but self-appointed fake jews. Research all the power players aka Billionaires and you’ll find most are Zionists. These are the ones bringing in their luciferian new world order. They want control of everything and everyone. A real blood lust for power and greed. These are these “beast” scum we need to be at war with. Eliminating them and their whole families.

  • Dave67

Amazing, you spend the past 30 years doing tax cuts, increasing spending, going into nonsense wars, selling out our manufacturing base, reducing regs on what banks can do and credit and now allowing unlimited money in the political process and bad things happen that do not immediately turn around… Simply amazing….

But that is conservative politics for you….

But don’t worry Romney will save you morons… He will create many new $10 an hour service jobs like he did with Bain Capital.

    • Power To The People

Davey boy…..both parties participated in the items you note. They together have given us all the presents that can’t be returned.

      • Dave67

Did I mention “party” anywhere? No…

For the past 30 years, conservative policy has dominated economic policy… Infer what you will.

The GOP and Dems are paid off by many of the same people. Especially after the activist conservative supreme court made it a free speech issue for unlimited money to be involved in the political process, our “vote” means even less… To replace a Dem with a GOP and vice versa is the epitome of stupidity.

We need to end corp control of our gov and end conservatism as its been practiced in this country since Ronnie Reagan.

Your statement that Romney will create lots of $10/hr jobs is true, and that’s a hell of a lot better than Obama’a system of paying half of Americans to do absolutely nothing. Supporters of high taxes and liberal spending are the morons, and you appear qualified to be their leader.

@internet1 – people like nc will never believe until the oven door closes behind them. Man’s tendency towards cruelty towards his neighbor still exists, even in this ‘enlightened’ age. Others here mentioned that those who would impose such things on the american people are the ‘joe blow’ or ‘joe sixpack’s of the country. If you want to read in detail of how such things work, I would recommend reading the book “Auschwitz, A Doctor’s Eyewitness Account’ by Miklos Nyiszli. He was a jewish doctor assigned to assist Mengele in Auschwitz. I read this book as a teenager and was so impressed in it’s account that I required my eldest daughter to read it when she reached an age I thought her capable, and will require the same of my youngest, unless it occurs here first. In the book, he tells of the Kapos, jewish prisoners who served the Nazis in maintaining order and control of the work parties. For their cruelty, they received extra clothing and food, allowing them to survive longer than the average prisoner. Read it, learn, lest we repeat it.

I remember seeing work done last year under the ARRA where the sidewalks of commercial areas in our city were being redone whether thy needed it or not. The workers looked very uncannily and suspiciously like those illegal aliens that wait in mall parking lots for day work. One could also hear them babbling in spanish. I saw no blacks, no whites, in short, no Americans. Meanwhile our streets are rutted and haven’t been paved in 20 years. This fkn country is doomed.

I think-as we the people, here in united-state,should not vote-for anybody in goverment-office’s,because they only care about there self’s,and not the amercain-people,look at all the lie’s we hear each, and every day,and the promise’s they say to the amercain-people.and job’s are hard to find, because of are governmonet-and job’s are going to other country’s,instead of keeping job’s here in amercain-for are own people, they need to start thinking about us,and are own country, and start putting the amercain-people back-on track, and start having thing’s builded here in amercain,in stead of other country’s,but built-by amercain-people,so stop sending job’s,to other country’s,and let’s start thinking of are own-people,and do what is right Mr,President Obama because if you don’t start-now,The world will end this year, for god is coiming, and so is the end and it will be judgement-day,for every-body here on earth, every man,and woman, and child, for i have seen his coming-is sooner then people not realize, and in order to stop this Mr.President Obama is you need to talk to me,I do have ideal’s that would help are amercain-people,and to sure them a new-way of life, and to help get the amercain-people back on track, and in sure more job’s for the amercain-people,so if you would like to talk to me Mr.President Obama one on one,and to listen what I have to say,Then you can call me here at this number 217-508-6982 about the promble’s that the amercain-people are facing in are world today, because we need to change-now sir.

    • Nancy in Nebraska

      Wow! What can I say?

  • KG

I think everyone is insane! I just came from a web site that chided someone for saying we were in the “last great depression.” And then I come here and this article talks about numbers “we haven’t seen since the great depression.” So, which one is it? Are we really in the stages of a great depression, or is this still some “recession?”

I personally benefited from ARRA. I had major brain surgery and was about to loose my healthcare due to my Health hours getting short. I couldn’t work, so the next step would have been being kicked out to the curb. However, ARRA paid my COBRA, so I could recover from brain surgery. Am I happy about ARRA? You bet your azz I am!

Our President did the right thing. Government DOES create jobs. Contractors only like two kinds of contracts – Government contracts, and BIG Government contracts. Look around you. How much work is being done fixing streets? A big portion of that money comes from the Federal government. You may not like the fact that the gentlemen in orange vests are whats saving our economy. But, that’s a fact.

    • Nancy in Nebraska

KG, I am really happy for you. I’m glad you got your surgery. But keep in mind that ARRA didn’t pay for your cobra. We did!

      • Sheryn

Nancy, That is what taxes are for, do you expect the government to get side jobs to pay for this stuff. Where have you been. “We” will also pay for your brain surgery !

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Wow, Sheryn, I thought taxes were for defense and infrastructure. I really NEED a new car. Do you think your government will buy me one? Oh, and the government doesn’t pay for my surgery. We purchase health insurance where the risk of expense is shared with others who want to mininize their risk as we do. We’ve always had insurance even when it was voluntary! We take responsibility for ourselves. We pay our own bills. We taught our kids to pay theirs. I don’t ask you to pay for me and I don’t want to pay for you. You should move to a communist country. They will take care of everything for you, instead of trying to turn this into a communist country!

      • eddie47d

Getting the Republicans to authorize or pay for infrastructure is like pulling teeth from a live shark. Even if the bolts are falling out of the bridge they refuse to put their signature on anything that might get them accused of spending a dollar. They wait until the bridge is teetering and then get the Democrats to pass it out of necessity. Then come election time they will say those Democrats are big spenders and must be voted out. What a circus. .

    • kkflash

You’re wrong about where that government contract money comes from. It does NOT come from the Federal government, but from the people. Government has NOTHING that it does not first take from taxpayers. It does so under threat of imprisonment, and it skims about 40% for itself before issuing all those government contracts. Government produces NOTHING but business-choking regulation. Government is a necessary evil that needs to be as small as we can possibly make it.

      • Dave67

Gov is evil, the sky is falling… blah blah blah…

Gov is only as good or as bad as we allow it to be… Without the Gov, the internet that you type on is non-existant. The technology that we benefit from the space program, does not exist and neither does the interstate system, the air grid etc…

The Go can lay the framework for jobs and has and will continue to do so.

How about pressuring your Gov to end big money in the process? That would go a long way to cleaning up the system and holding politicians accountable for making promises they know they will never be able to keep?

Romney says he will reduce the unemployment rate to 6% by the end of his first term, as a coincidence… The major economists and the CBO also see a return to 6% in the next 4 years for doing NOTHING but keeping the course we are on.

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Dave67, what the heck are you reading? Do you think the government is responsible for technology? Way back in our past, men created things without government intervention. It was ruled by the law of supply and demand. If there was a demand for something it was supplied. The government takes our money and gives it to their cronies under the guise of demand. They force you to finance what they want whether you want it or not, ie Solydra, genetically modified foods, electric cars, chem spraying, drugs that do more harm than good etc… If people want to invest their money in these ventures, they should certainly be allowed to do so, but no one should be forced to invest in a product or service that will not bring them a return on their investment. If there is a need or demand for something, there will always be someone to provide it. But financing research and/or products with taxpayer money is nothing short of stealing!

      • Dave67

Since the industrial revolution and global trade, tell me which country operated with zero Gov inetrference in their respective economies at any time….

I never said the Gov was responsible for technology. that is you reading into what I wrote…A conservative hallmark.

Private industry did not invent the internet. FACT
Private industry did not venture into space travel FACT
Private industry did not come up and fund the interstate highway system. FACT

        The Gov did…

How many billions have is the internet generated FOR private firms?
How many billions have PRIVATE firms made off of technology gained from space travel?
Does businesses sprout up along intertstates? Do constructions firms make money off the gov funding of road sysytems YES/YES

So to get it through the conservative bubble… The Gov does have a role.

But go on and believe the GOV is EEEEEEVILLLL as you vote for the politicians that make up this EEEVILLL Gov.

        Silly Conservatives…

      • eddie47d

The government built NASA and NASA trained the Astronauts. The government sent rockets into space and launched satellites which the private companies didn’t have the finances to do. Decades later satellite launches were turned over to private companies for communication services. It was the US military that developed the computer and helped launch the Internet. Now all that research and development is done by private firms. Those government projects were a boon to our economy and made alot of private companies wealthy and provided millions of jobs. Many energy projects were government launched and or financially backed. Almost all highway projects are courtesy of government and the taxpayer. When business and government work together we thrive and we all have the means to get around this country and live well.

      • Jay

Government is a wealth-consuming-insatiable-beast, and it generates ZERO income! It has become an economic, liability. The size of government must be minimal, and the power granted to it, must be doled out in very small, and careful measures!

      • Nancy in Nebraska

I repeat myself. If there is demand for something it will be built. The government funding of private enterprise is what has gotten us into the mess were in!

      • Dave67

Nancy, you and the other “Gov is EVIL” loons are done…. I have proven your nonsense wrong… you can either accept how Gov has provided the lynchpin for creating a market that was not there previously in multiple cases or you don’t…

        Does not change the facts…

Google, Yahoo, Facebook are all BILLION dollar firms thanks to the Gov
HP, Cisco, EMC and other technology firms have made further billions thanks to the Gov

        Thems are the facts.

You on their other hand, have no facts, just passionate opinion backed up by nothing.

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Dave67, the FACT is that the government has stolen trillions of dollars from you and I, and given it to people who made a fortune off of it!!! Then you and I have the privilege to BUY the products that WE PAID for!!! WAKE UP!!! SEE THE TRUTH!!!

  • ronyvo

Actually, I am surprised that the obam’s administration did not say (falsely like usually) that the unemployment is already 5.7%!! But, we still have time for more deception from this Muslim “enemy” president.

    • Thinking About

If Obama had used the numbers like Scott Walker used unemployment would have been lower, go figure.

  • http://None Mike C

Sorry but I have to laugh at a $787 billion price tag when we already have a yearly federal budget, full of entitlement spending, IN THE THREE AND HALF TRILLION RANGE. The do gooder liberals have saddled us with nonsense that only serves to enable to weak and lazy.

Take a look at how the Fed spends YOUR money (source: wikipedia 2010 Federal budget)

    2010 Federal Budget
    Medicare/Medicaid – $743 Billion (20.9%)
    Social Security – $695 Billion (19.5%)
    DoD and Wars – $663 Billion (18.6%)
    Agencies – $610 Billion (17.8%)
    Unemployment/Welfare – $571 Billion (16%)
    Interest on Debt – $4.6 Billion (2.9%)

People are upset about a $787 billion recovery investment when we spend that much ANNUALLY on medicaid and medicare and close to that much on Unemployment and Welfare?

    • Dave67

Faux News and the GOP tell them they should be outraged… So they are.

      So,,, 743B + 695B + 663B

2.10 Trillion from Entitlements and the bloated defense budget and out BS wars before Obama took office

$571B which much comes from the economic collapse that came under Bush 2
      for much of that.

So according to conservatives… Obama is a free spending liberal. I fail to see where the free spending is or where the liberal is.

So looks like once again, Conservatives are full of it as usual.

      Here is the breakdown…

      • http://None Mike C

Dave67 sorry to insult you but me thinks you are not so intelligent.

        1) Bloated defense budget and BS wars. You really said that? We spend almost as much for people to sit at home and browse the interent all day. Obama could have brought home all the troops and stopped all fighting in January 2009. He did not. In fact the chosen one who campaigned on peace and the diplomacy in the middle east dropped bombs on Libya, and apparently has a fetish for drone strikes. So clearly the left backs these wars as much as the right, clearly Obama has not closed Gitmo as he said he would, and clearly he prefers execution over due process as was the case for a certain bearded one living in Pakistan.

        2) Economic Collapse under Bush. You really said that? Wow. Check eceonomic growth stats under Bush- you should be erecting statue for the man who invented the word strategery. The collapse was due to bad loans. How did the big banks get stuck with bad loans? The Lewinski administration wanted affordable housing for everyone back in the 90s. Are you taking notes yet Dave67?

        3) Your link. My comments used FY 2010 as an example. You decided to paste in a link for FY’12 for some reason. The data here only validates my point that the left IS in support of the wars (for some reason they wanted to apologize for them then keep funding them) and the entitlement spending is out of control. You might want to click on the tab that says SURPLUS/DEFICITS and shows how the deficit has skyrocketed under Obama. That doesn’t exactly support any of your positions.

        4) Lastly… Obama reminds me of a rich man’s trophy wife. Only capable of spending money and talking all day long.

        Best regards,
        -Mike C

      • Dave67

Mike, if you thinbbk Obama could just up and bring troops home… your intelligence level is lacking. As is your assertion that Obama could close Gitmo without congressional order and if you remember, your side seemed to think these people at GITMO has some kind of superhuman power because your side was afraid to try these people in NYC court.

The economy collapsed under Bush, he did not cause the collapse, we have Reagan, Clinton and the various Congress’s for that honor of responsibility.

The left never wanted to go into Iraq period…. That was your side using 9/11 to excuse going into Iraq.

Obama put the wars on the books, we are taking in less money due to lower tax reciepts that came from this downturn. Obama is guilty for a second bank bailout and a stimulus that was no big enough. Most of the debt we are experiencing now has little to do with Obama or any policy he came up with.

But your side continues to BS the people…

      • Dave67

Libya… 1B… No US Caualties…. We supplied the rebels from their areas of control and gave logistic support to NATO led airstrikes…We let them fight their war on the ground. It wasn’t ours to do. The dictator is dead.

Iraq…. 3T dollars when all is said and done, over 5000 Americans dead, China has most of the oil contracts over there…We are just now getting out over a 9 year invasion and occupation. The dictator is dead.

Obama was smart, Bush 2 well…. as advertized… dumb as a box of rocks

I will take the way Obama handled Libya anyday for the dolts on the conservative side in the way they handled Iraq.

      • http://None Mike C

Dave67… I do not understand you (or anyone on the left for that matter). You are still griping about the cost of war. Yet I propose that Obama could have ended this on day 1 of his term and you still argue. Your own link showed the war spending as DESCRETIONARY. That means he could have “up and” brought the troops home. What part of “HE KEPT FUNDING THE WARS” don’t you understand?

I am conservative and never thought we should go into Iraq. I agree that they used 911 to justify this. However, I cannot ignore the fact that the left will not let us drill here. You people on the left can’t have it both ways. You can’t strap the hands of the oil companies then complian about the cost of war needed to stabilize the middle east. Drilling must happen somewhere.

Obama could greatly impact the economy. He could lower corporate taxes and income taxes. He could reward companies that run operations in the US and penalize those that outsource jobs. He could spend more time meeting with business leaders. He could grant more drilling permits. He could push nuclear power. He could cut federal spending. He could curb illegal immigration. He could commandeer that Iraq money. He does none of these things. He works on his NCAA bracket and he pushes for healthcare legislation when no one wanted it or felt healthcare was a priority. If you study the federalism theme of the constitution you will see that healthcare is a state responsibility.

      • http://None Mike C

Dave67 why are you pounding you chest about the way Obama handled Libya? Aren’t you the same guy who said we shouldn’t be in Iraq?

Tryue or False? Obama campaigned on a platform of Peace and Dilpomacy in the Middle East.

Does the Libya situation represent diplomacy? Peace? Why is Iraq not okay but Libya is? Why did Obama promise peace and not deliver? Why did he talk so strongly about closing Gitmo? Why was the bearded one executed and not given the due process so cherished by the left? Please answer Dave.

      • Dave67

        Ok Mike here goes.

Currently the US is bring up more oil than it has in decades… but see here is the thing… The oil industry is private, the contracts to drill are private… The oil firms choose who they sell their oil… So they seel to where the make the most profit and so that means they sell to others besides to USA. So even if the shortsighted like you go their way and we drilled in your backyard, it would have a minimum impact on the world market of the price of oil. Oil is traded in Euros as much as US dollars now. We cannot dictate which currency a country uses to trade theirt oil.

So your oil arguement is done…

        Now far Iraq vs Libya.

We invaded Iraq, we occupied Iraq. For what again?

Now in the case of Libya, we did not start the uprising… we supported where we could to get ride of the dictator that bombed the Lockerby flight. No boots on the ground.

Obama was smart, Bush Inc was dumb.

So fas far as Obama running on peace and diplomacy…Every president says all the same things about peace but the world calls for situational action.Surely you are not that naive…Obama has managed to succeed where conservatives have failed in get Bin Laden and you sound like sour grapes. I wanted Bin Laden dead, not living off my tax dollars thank you very much.

As far as Gitmo goes… Obama is the first president in the history of the planet to overreach in his promises. Bush told us he was a compassionate conservative…. Reagan told us he would NEVER negotiate with terrorists and well… we know how that worked out didn’t we?

Do you even know what you are talking about when it comes to taxes on companies? Do you know how many pay little or no taxes due to loopholes and other incentives? The are still the #2 or #3 place in the world to invest because we are so business friendly. It was the deregulation, not over regulation of banks that caused the meltdown yet your side seems to think more of the same nonsense will fix the economy. That is stupidity beyond words.

Obama has tried to put forth legistation that does reward companies that keep jobs here but the GOP does not want to see Obama have any victories so they obstruct. They obstructed his small business incentives, the GOP even threatened to end unemployment insurance for those looking for work so that the ill-thought out Bush tax cuts during two wars could continue. More conservative fuzzy math.

        The bottom line is:

The economy does better, Obama wins (rightly or wrongly)
The economy does worse, Obama loses (rightly or wrongly)

The GOP know this, as does corp America.

      • Nancy in Nebraska

I am outraged! All of it is just a way to steal our money!

      • http://None Mike C

Dave67 I am just not with you when you imply that it is okay for the president, or prospective president, to lie in a campaign and not be held accountable. To simply look the other way (cough – lying under oath). Other presidents were always held accountable for making false promises. If the majority of the voters re-elected them it was because for the most part the econoy was doing just fine. Obama does NOT have that luxury.

End of the oil argument? Sounds like you have a slant against oil companies making a profit? Is that the case? Do you understand capitalism? Dave67, why are we fighting wars in the middle east if not for oil? Why are oil execs still asking for more permits? Why do they want to set up shop in Alaska? Why Dave?

You still haven’t told me why Obama didn’t end the wars on Day 1 of his term? Who set the DoD budget in 2010 Dave67?

      • 45caliber

After reading your comments above, it is obvious that you have no ablitly to think of anything except your “facts”. So this is not an answer for you. It is simply pointing out a few faults in your thinking to others who might benefit from it.

NO company pays tax. Period. It doesn’t matter what the government says. Each company who the government says owes a tax simply adds it to the price of their goods and collects from we good old consumers – just like all other tax is collected from. So don’t get too excited about any company that pays little or no tax. None do.

It doesn’t matter if we had a person on the ground in Lybia or not. Our men were there in harms way. We shouldn’t have bothered and left it to others to take care of. We certainly shouldn’t have paid for any of it. Just as we shouldn’t necessarily have been in Iraq. Actually we didn’t need to be on the ground there or in Afghanistan but the innocent (if there is such as thing as innocent in a war) casualties would have been higher and you would have been far more upset.

You certainly have no idea how a market works. If there is more of a product, be it oil or something else, then the price will come down. Its called the Law of Supply and Demand. Yes, the oil companies could sell the oil somewhere else, but it is hard to insist that the oil they pump from your backyard should go to China while they bring the Mid-East oil here. The crossing of the ocean is the biggest reason for high oil prices. In fact, thanks mainly to Gulf Oil, the price per barrel of oil pumped from the ground in the US in capped at $6.25 a barrel as set about 1930. They could foresee that the price of oil would go up and they didn’t want the land owner to get the profits. Unfortunately for them, Congress set their profits levels at 10% of what they paid for oil – and they get a LOT more profit from $100 a barrel oil than they do from $6.25 a barrel oil.

        Oblama got Ben Laden?? LOL!!!

      • http://None Mike C

Yes, the Bin Ladin thing is really ridiculous. Here is the extent of work done by Obama to help catch Bin Ladin:

Advisor: “Sir we have located the bearded one in Pakistan. The seals are ready… shall we proceed.”

        Obama: “Yes.”

Killed without due process. Killed by the same president that wanted to close Gitmo and stop torture.

      • BigBadJohn

        Mike / 45,
Please do some real research on oil production in the USA.

Add to that, the Energy Information Administration said today that the U.S. pumped an average of 6 million barrels per day in the first quarter, hitting that lofty mark for the first time in 14 years. (repeat that again ” first time in 14 years.”) – In 2011, the U.S. was not a net importer of oil for the first time in decades and the boom in shale plays such as the Bakken and Eagle Ford is helping reduce U.S. dependence on foreign oil sources. EIA confirmed that U.S. production growth was primarily attributable to North Dakota and Texas.

      • 45caliber

Yes, we are pumping a lot of oil now. But it isnt’ a patch on what we could pump if allowed. We still import most of what we use. So … why not drill and pump the rest? Because it’s been sold to China! (Well, actually given to China if they won’t call our loans.)

      • 45caliber

        Mike C:

Actually the Bin Laden thing went more like:

Advisor: “Can we take out Bin Laden?”

Oblama: “No, my czar tells me to wait.”

Advisor: “Can we at least get the seal team ready so we can go in if the opportunity arises?”

Oblama: “Well, okay you can do that.”

Later: Advisor: “According to your instructions, we were ready when an opportunity arose to take him. Please have a seat as we watch them take him out.”

        • Jeff

You have an amazing ear for dialog. Too bad the conversation took place in a psych ward. How do you type with a straight jacket on?

      • Dave67

45, you have no idea about the oil industry do you? I worked for Mobile Oil at their HQ before the merger so I know a little something about colusion in that industry. We are pulling more oil out of the ground than we have in decades so why isn’t the price at the pump down to below 2 dollars?

        1) Consolidation of the refining market that was allowed to go nearly unchecked by Clinton and Bush 2 so many have shuttered their doors.
        2) The Oil Cartels with Big Oil support fix the price
        3) More oil is being traded in Euros, not dollars

Your “theory” is just that in the oil industry… Theory

As far as Libya, Gaddafi… We did not like him… Just like Saddam fell out of favor with us after the fall of the USSR and we needed a new boogeyman… To get him out of power we could have:

Invaded with 250K soldiers, thousands of tanks, hundreds of planes, missles… We did not, we supported those who wished to overthrow Gaddafi with arms, logiostical support. There was minimal exposure for our people, nothing to give the enemies of the United States further cause to launch attacks against us. It was the smarter way to go. Unother difference between Libya and Iraq… Iraq NEVER attacked us…. Libya blew up a passenger jet.

So when you look at the way Bush used 9/11 to invade Iraq, costing this country TRILLIONS of dollars and over 5000 of our soldiers dead and for what again against 1 billion dollars and no loss if life for US forces… I will take Obama’s approach anyday.

As far as your mention about Bill Clinton, so you have no proof that Clinton or any of his surrigates were involved with any of the deaths you claim. That is what I thought. You would lose in a court of law just like you lost here.

      • Dave67

        Mike C, and 45..

What Bin Laden killed under Bush’s watch or Obama’s? Funny… Conservative loons like to rewrite history saying Reagan defeated the USSR but you except that nonsense so let me make sure I understand…

Conservatives are responsible for everything good in your minds…. Liberals are responsible for everything bad and if something goes right under a Democrat’s watch, that person gets zero credit while if something goes right under a GOPer…. They get full credit…

I see how the conservative game works…

    • Jeff

Social Security is separately paid for and does not contribute to the national debt. Unemployment is an insurance program, not a welfare program. I think if you really examine the numbers and add in everything related to war, you’ll find that Defense eats up a larger chunk.

      • http://None Mike C

What is your point Jeff? Are you complaining about the DoD spending because Obama determines that number when he submits his annual budget.

      • Nancy in Nebraska

SS may be a separate line on your paycheck but the money goes right into the pot with the rest to be spent by the idiots! They don’t include the amount that is due to SS recipients in the national debt figures but it is national debt nonetheless. They are robbing us blind and leaving us with the bill to pay.

      • Sheryn

Good try Jeff but nancy doesn’t get any of it. She thinks she pays for everything. Good explanation though.

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Sheryn, I “get it” just fine. You’re the one who doesn’t have a clue! The government collects the social security payments through a separate tax. It shows up on your paycheck as a separate tax. There USED to be a social security trust fund that that money went into, kept separate from the tax payments that our government spent. Many years ago (I don’t remember what year, but if you care look it up) the government did away with the trust fund and dumped all of the money into the general fund. Then they SPENT it. The money that was supposed to be used to pay out benefits is GONE! They did the same with people’s payments into Medicare and with the government employees pension funds. There ALL GONE! STOLEN!!! Now, when they calculate the national debt, they don’t count in how much they owe for social security payments, Medicare payments and pension payments. Those are called “unfunded liabilities”. Now they’re looking for ways to cut social security and Medicare. They know they can’t pay their bills so guess who ends up with the short straw?!? Even though social security was intended to be kept separate, the government STOLE the money and SPENT it! Now, Do YOU get it?

      • Sheryn

NANCY You still don’t get it. There is still a trust Fund called (OASDI) old age, survivors, and disability. This fund is operated by the Social Security Administration. The money is not gone. When revenues are more than the payments the government borrows this money but they have to pay it back by law. But The fund expects to run until 2033. After that they expect to only handle 75% of payouts. So the money is not GONE. It is not in the general fund. So keep running your mouth this is fun!!!

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Sheryn, the social security trust fund is a sham! It’s nothing but a big a$$ pile of IOUs from the government! They STOLE THE MONEY and spent it!!! Don’t believe me? READ THIS!!! Then GROW UP and LEARN something!!! Stop spewing the CRAP you hear from others and find out for yourself!!!

      • Sheryn

I did find out for myself. I never just believe anything I hear. You need to grow up. You are a very angry and negative person.

    • Sheryn

That just shows how many people are in need. So it has done some good. Where would those people be , with their children , out in the street. They are not living high on the hog I assure you, and it is not what they choose. Someday you might need a little help and you better hope it is there.

      • http://None Mike C

The government cannot provide a single thing without first taking it from someone else. Do you condone theft Sheryn?

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Those people need to work, get a job, two jobs! I know the great jobs are gone but I guarantee you I would do whatever it takes to take care of my children! It is not my responsibility to support other people! If I CHOOSE to help someone it should be MY decision. I should get to decide who I want to give my money to! I don’t want to give my money to drug addicts. I don’t want to give my money to lazy people who milk the system. I dont want to give my money to illegal aliens. The government doesn’t care who they give my money to but I DO! I should get to decide who I want to help!!!

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Sheryn, I’ll tell you a TRUE story. My daughter’s birth mother had three children. She gave up or lost the first two. So when she had the third she milked it for all it was worth. She was living in the Salvation Army’s shelter (which was primarily supported with taxpayer dollars). She and her baby had a private room. She got three meals a day. She got the baby’s formula, diapers, wipes, food and clothes FREE, through the shelter. She got FREE drug counseling and FREE transportation to wherever she needed to go. Now, she also got a payment from ADC (Aid to dependent children) in the amount of $290 a month. In addition she got food stamps (I know, she got all her meals and the baby’s at the shelter) in the amount of &200 a month! A guard at the shelter would purchase these from her at half their value. So she had nearly $400 a month to spend on drugs and whatever else she wanted. I assure you that NONE of it went to the baby! Eventually the city housing department gave her, her own apartment. Life was great til she let her boyfriend move in with her and he killed the baby! I don’t want one Penney of MY money to go to people like this! But the government has NO problem giving it to any sleazeball that wants it! I could definitely choose someone more deserving!!! I want that right back!!!

    • 45caliber

Keep in mind that the SS costs come out of a seperate account and isn’t officially tied to the regular budget. So don’t include it with the general budget. The additional costs from the general budget are strained through the SS account to hide their real costs. By that, I mean that they spend every SS penny they get every year even though much of it does NOT go to SS recipients. They don’t even bother to “borrow” it as they used to do. That money is not considered part of the budget even though it is spent for the budget. So the figures are obscure here.

  • Arizona_Don

Isn’t this interesting? If we were to read history we would soon find out obama is doing many of the same things Roosevelt did in the thirties. Why wouldn’t the result be the same? Of course the result will be the same! However, there were examples of successfully getting this country back on track and avoiding a deep recession or depression. Two exceptional ones come to mind immediately. Coolidge in the 20′s and Reagan in the 80′s. But you see that goes against the big government theory of the liberal progressives. Consequently, they will never give in to the correct principle. According to obama government is the answer to all our ills. Curing ills sounds good but with government it is not true. The only thing that ever created wealth is effort, sometimes referred to as WORK. Furthermore, effort coupled with desire and ability is only present when the result is personal and individual. If it has to be shared with many others the desire disappears, and so does motivation.

Roosevelt failed and he had four terms to get it right and he never did. The obama outcome will be the same!

What is there about progressive liberalism that keeps these folks from believing things even when they see the results. A good example is taxation. Every time taxes have been raised revenue decreased. And Every time taxes were reduced revenue increased. What is so hard about that. Now my question; Why is there such a liberal progressive movement now to tax anyone more? I have an answer; because liberal progressives wish to get rid of a free market capitalistic system and go to a commune system (communism) which has never worked in the history of the world and never will. Humane societies work best when they are free to imagine, create and keep the fruits of their creativeness or hard work.

    • 4everliberal

It is always the ill informed that fall prey to lies and deceptions by the wright wing conservatives. Our Tax revenue fell after Reagan passed his 350 billion tax cut, because the return of investment on a tax cut is 85 cents to a dollar vs a R.O.I on a tax expenditure on welfare or infrastructure is 1.15. Reagan and Bush(W) escalated our deficits. Don’t forget that the 1.8 trillion deficit that Reagan created was on top of the 1.2 trillion increase in taxes in all forms.

      • 45caliber

Your comment just made my headache worse since I had to laugh so hard. A ROI on a welfare payout is 1.15? LOL< LOL!!! There is NO return on investment for welfare payouts except for keeping some welfare dept. employee happy.

According to this report, between 200,000 and 1.5 million jobs were created in the last 40 months.

According to the info I used to receive about five years ago, there is a natural job growth of about 1.5 million per year. So even at 1.5 million jobs in the last 40 months we are less than ONE THIRD as fast as is normal.

I’m not certain is if it due to Oblama’s ideas or not – but he certainly can’t be commended for achieving 1/3 the normal growth!

    • Wildey

There are more people employed by government than there are in all industry combined. Probably over 90% of them should be considered OVERHEAD, doing jobs the private sector can do. Do away with Dep’t of Agriculture, HEW, DHS, DEA etc. All that we need is government supplying and maintaining an infrastructure, and the work could done in the private sector, police, the FBI could be strictly on call by the states, a skeleton military with people to coordinate volunteers in time of need and————? You tell me. The Federal Reserve people should be tarred and feathered at best in jail without the possibiltiy of parole better.

      • 45caliber

If you include ALL people employed by all levels of government – federal, state, local, and schools – between 53% and 57% of all workers are employed by the government. So between 43% and 47% of us support the rest too. That doesn’t count groups like those on Welfare or SS which are paid by the government although they don’t work. The entire goal of government is to increase in size. It is designed that way. There are more salary people (management) than hourly workers too. I’ve heard up to five times as many. And many of them make well over $100,000 each. In fact, even secretaries who work for the government generally get almost double the same pay as those who work for businesses.

I fully agree about the various agencies, etc. In fact, I’d like us to go back to the original federal government as set up. That included the Dept. of State (to deal with foreign governments in peace), the Department of War (not Defense) (to deal with foreign governments when they aren’t at peace), and the Department of Treasury (to pay for the other two). The rest should go away as the original federal government was set up solely to deal with foreign governments – not try to control the citizens and states here.

After 200 years of existence, we achieved a national debt of one trillion dollars. Now, twenty five years later we’ve achieved the dubious honor of raising the debt to fifteen trillion, six hundred billion dollars, $15,600,000,000,000.. Politicians keep telling us they need to raise the debt to cut the debt. Are they alchemist? turning mud into gold? or is it the added bondage they put the people into. Funny thing, the debt goes up and liberty goes further from the people. “I’m from the government and I’m hear to help you”. Give me your money and you’ll be all better.

Of course employments going down. Look what’s happening to employers. Employers are painted as the bad guys by government. Get government off their backs. The market, once it’s had a chance to vote on their products will tell them who lives and who dies. With government regulations and taxes being what they are, government has priced employees and employers off the world market. That employment is only as bad as it is, is only because people are either in denial of our chapter 7 situation or the governments threats at home and around the world.

Want hope? Have the guts to be honest and step aside government. We’ll show you what a people with liberty can do.

    • 45caliber

We have invented more stuff in the last hundred years than has been invented since man began. But it has slowed down a lot in the last ten years. The reason? The inventors are no longer allowed to build and market their inventions. Now the government requires so many regulations to be followed prior to starting up a business that few individuals can meet those. And when the inventors try to sell their inventions, the companies willing to purchase them will seldom offer more than $100,000 and demand sole ownership of the invention. Generally the inventor has lived in poverty whey working on the invention and $100,000 won’t even bring him a nice house, much less a good income.

For instance, a man in England has invented an insulation that can resist (and almost ignore) a nuclear fire. The space program wants sole custody but plan to use it only for shuttles. Boeing wants sole custody but only for some airplanes. And so on. The owner can see multiple uses including insulating the steel structure of high rise buildings – which would eliminate steel failure due to fires as happened on the World Trade Center. Fire but no more collapse. But none of the offers will allow the inventor to use it that way. Each prospective purchaser wants to insure that none of their competitors gain use of it too.

Texas benefited from ABBA, Rick Perry used the $25m to balance his budget and got up and bragged he had balanced his budget but did not brag and tell where the funds came from.

Selective Amnesia? Like when the left turned the other way during the Lewinski administration? Mr. Clinton lied under oath.

        Mike C,

Her lied under oath about sex… Sexual affairs should never be asked by the IC. That does not rise to high crimes and misdemeanors in the Constitution. But since your side was on a witch hunt to get Clinton on SOMETHING since Whitewater yielded nothing but a 100M tax payer bill…

You had to do something to gain power.

      • 45caliber

The reason that Clinton was tried on sexual matters was because all the witnesses against him due to drug companies were killed and their evidence destroyed in a plane crash. Star had only the evidence of sexual matters. Everyone in politics knew what Clinton was guilty of and didn’t want a criminal in office but couldn’t come up with a better way to get rid of him when the witnesses kept being killed.

I will need proof of that assertion… You sould like G Gordon Liddy when he accused Clinton of killing Vince Foster ands offering no proof of that assertion.

      • 45caliber

First, I didn’t say Clinton himself killed them. I said they died in a plane crash. It happened in TN when they were on their way to Washington to testify. Incidently there were over 50 people who happened to die at an opportune time for the Clintons – both of them. Foster wasn’t the only one to die over White Water. At least three more died the same way in AR. One woman went to jail for two years for contempt of court for refusing to testify – it saved her life. 27 Secret Servicemen died the first year Clinton was in office – the highest death rate EVER! Most were ruled accidents just as Foster was declared a suicide – even though he was shot through the head with a pistol while in his car – with no blood in the car, no powder burns on his hand from shooting a gun, and no bullet at all despite having no broken windows.

Read a book called “Slick Willie”. It has a lot of what I mentioned in one place, along with copies of the dozens of documents to prove what he was saying. Clinton’s politicial affiliation was immaterial; he was simply a crook making money off the drug trade and the drug dealers … who were happy to look out for him. Most of the people he mentions in the book were on that plane that crashed. John Towers was appointed his Secretary of the Treasury and quit after a year. When he returned to Texas, he was interviewed by a reporter and asked why he quit since he had the third most important job in Washington. Towers’ reply was, “We have a fellon in the White House and I dont’ intend to go to prison with him.”

In some ways I wish that Obama had allowed the house of cards left to him by his predecessor to all fall down. Wall Street and Detroit belly up, all these red & blue states in budget short falls facing lay-off of state and city workers by the thousands, in turn affecting the private sector that was already strained to the edge of default, with even more housing foreclosures followed by yet more bank defaults and yet more unemployed.

All the little mom & pop supporting industries, cafes, dinners, dry cleaners, quick stop convenient stores that have to turn 12,000.00 a week to make 800.00 to $1000.00 profit would dry up.

That is what should have happened really, it would have went viral and then global according to some predictions. If it had been allowed to happen maybe we’d shown more backbone as we work to fix these problems if more people suffered today.

Of course, if he had , Obama would get his share of the blame for not stopping it from happening, of doing nothing. People would be very angry at him today.

Oh dear! let’s not make anyone upset. They might not like us anymore. ~ but wait a minute ! They didn’t like us anyway. Hmmm?

    • Jeff

R U kidding? If Obama had done that, these same morons would be writing the same posts saying it’s all his fault for NOT stimulating the economy, saving Detroit, etc. They’d be talking about what a man of action W was and how much they miss him. This venom is not about policies; it’s about a Democrat in the White House – a BLACK Democrat at that. Pretty scary stuff for a wingnut.

Don’t you get it yet, both were hired to essentially perform the same job; destroy America! And each, according to his own unique, skill-sets! But you two retards are fooled by labels, aren’t you? Yes yes, i know; “look mommy, that one has a great big C after his name, that means, he’s the bad guy, and him, he’s got a great big D after his name, that means, he’s the good guy”!

Bob Livingston, just does not like going into details because it will expose his lies and deceptions. The 800 billion stimulus/bailout consisted of 2 parts. 1st part was the bailout by Bush(W) of 320 billion and President Obama’s 380 Billion ARRA act. The bailout did stop us from heading towards a depression. 75% of President Obama’s bailout of the financial institutions have been repaid and remaining Equity we have with Citibank, AIG and GM will result in a possible 50 billion profit. Unlike Bush(W) bailout wherein he just handed them a check for $320 billion without any conditions of payment or equity holdings. President Obama’s stimulus/bailout turns out to be be a very small price to pay considering it stop us from a depression and possible a 25% unemployment.

    • 45caliber

Yes, 3/4 of those loans have been repaid – with government grant money. So don’t get too excited about it.

      • 4everliberal

Who else do you think would have bailed us out. The sad part about the bailout being so unpopular that the teabaggers in congress has tied the hands of President Obama not wanting to do another stimulus package. As you can see our economy is anemic since the corporations, hoarding 2 trillion in cash, is not investing or hiring to level that is needed for robust economy. Since our artificial economic growth was based on consumer debt, with 2 million in foreclosure and 20 million with credit destroyed, it is long way before we get out of this rut unless with have another stimulus package or more BOLDLY
a law that limits pay of Corporate executives to a ratio of 1:20. thereby increasing the pay of the working class. By all account, the average income during 1968 should be 92,000
instead it is only 50,000 dollars today.

      • 45caliber

No government grant should have been used at all! Basically the companies were paying for the “loans” with the taxpayer’s money, not their own. You might consider it a good thing, but I certainly don’t! And I don’t belive that “stimulus” did anything except repay some of Oblama’s biggest contributors to his campaign contributions. Why should tax money be used for that? It certainly didn’t help the economy!

    • Bob Livingston

      Dear 4everliberal,

You write: “Bob Livingston, just does not like going into details because it will expose his lies and deceptions.” I provided links with the details.

You write: “The 800 billion stimulus/bailout consisted of 2 parts. 1st part was the bailout by Bush(W) of 320 billion and President Obama’s 380 Billion ARRA act.” Wrong. ARRA was separate and apart from the Bush bank bailout (which Obama voted for). I objected to that as well. Here is from the WH own website: re: the cost of ARRA. The Bush bailout was the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (also called TARP) was for $700 billion.

You write: “The bailout did stop us from heading towards a depression.” We are currently in a depression and the actions of Congress and Obama have prolonged it, hastened inflation and set us on a course toward disaster.

You write: “President Obama’s stimulus/bailout turns out to be be a very small price to pay considering it stop us from a depression and possible a 25% unemployment.” This statement, like the figures you provided, is pure fantasy.

      Best wishes,

The Democratic Party has made it its mandate to politicize and collectivize the personal.

It has done this to militarize every area of life, to transform all human activities into a battlefield, and to bring every area of life under the aegis of its power relationships.

These power relationships form its infrastructure, fusing together governmental and non-governmental organizations, to form the true ruling class.

Write your Senators and request they do not ratify any treaties with the United Nations. Write the President and call for the end of foreign entanglements. Our foreign policy has been bad for a long time. It was the cause of 9-11, bin laden shouldn’t have even known who the U.S.A. is if we had a small gov’t as defined in the Constitution. Bring our troops home. Reopen our military bases. Close the bases abroad. Stop all foreign aid. Write your Representatives to pass a balanced budget.

Write the President and Congress and request the debt ceiling not be raised. FORCE a balanced budget!

We voted and expected things to be handled but it grew out of control, so we need to write! Be polite. One topic per letter. Your name and address at the top. Calm resolve.

Funding warfare and welfare by printing money out of thin air is not sustainable!

If our outgo exceeds our income, our upkeep will be our downfall.

It’s not too late. The Federal Gov’t can eliminate big agencies whose functions are already handled (and should be) by the States. Trim itself. Spend less than it takes in. Wealth will then build in the U.S. Treasury!

It is a pain in the ass knowing that I might not be able to make my situation any better by taking the advantage of some of these investment ideas from Independent Living; and putting them to use. 4evercommunist, wake up and smell the coffee, no democrat or republican isn’t going to do anything about this debt that the country is in. Unless Ron Paul gets in to office. He may not be able to do much in the four years of time he’s there, but he will get things done the right way.

  • Jay

The burn units in Washington, D.C. hospitals must be the busiest places in town lately, treating the blistered butts of the Democrat liars whose pants have been raging like California brush fires.

Leading the way, as usual, is the Unprecedented One, Barack “Barry” Hussein Obama-Soetoro, or whatever his name is. The man truly is beyond belief in his capacity to lie.

To paraphrase Admiral Farragut at the battle of Mobile Bay, “Damn the facts! Bull speed ahead!”

Campaigning seems to really get him all wee-weed up. One of his jaw-droppers:

“Since I’ve been President, federal spending has risen at its lowest pace in nearly 60 years. Think about it. Think about it. I just point out that it always goes up least under Democratic presidents. This other side, I don’t know how they’ve been bamboozling folks into thinking they are the responsible, fiscally disciplined party? They run up these wild debts, and then when we take over, we’ve gotta clean it up.”

    Here’s another:

“…and right now, we’ve got the lowest tax rates we’ve had since the 1950s. And, some of the Republican proposals would take it back as a percentage of GDP back to where we were back in the 1920s. You can’t have a modern industrial economy like that.”

A sane person would know that even wacko liberal Democrats are aware that this is utter, outrageous nonsense, not even close to reality. However, it’s becoming more and more likely that we are not dealing with a sane person.

Obama-Soetoro has a well-documented history of saying one thing to one group, and then, in front of a different group on another day, saying the opposite.

This, clearly, is conscious lying, done with the knowledge that the complicit Ministry of Propaganda, aka the “mainstream” media, will not point out or even discuss the contradictions if they are brought up by his critics.

This sort of lying is part and parcel of B. Hussein’s Saul Alinsky tactical maneuvering.

He exaggerates and twists facts, and makes unkeepable promises. He knows what he is saying is not true, but they are the sort of lies that are not based on hard fact, and can be denied as “misstatements,” “misquotes,” “misunderstandings,” or – a periennial Democrat Ministry of Propaganda favorite – “taken out of context.” The recent campaign lies are different.

These are statements that fly in the face of known, and therefore, easily checkable facts. There’s no deniability here. These are facts that anyone can look up, in a library or on the web. So it seems pretty clear that Barry has come to believe his own lies.

Many people have presented pretty good arguments that The Chosen One is a psychopathic liar and a narcissist.

A good case, too, has been made that his huge supporter, George Soros, is a sociopath. And it has been suggested that many of the Fat Cat corporate and Wall Street biggies who make up the bulk of his financial supporters are sociopaths, too.

Add to this Michael Savage’s contention – with which I am in general agreement – that liberals are mentally ill, and you have a potentially very dangerous situation developing.

The mentally ill, especially sociopaths and narcissists, get very aggressive when they don’t get what they want. We have already seen Obama-Soetoro ramp up the use of executive orders and EPA regulators to by-pass Congress when they wouldn’t do as he demanded they do.

And with a Democrat-dominated Senate, full of anti-Constitutionalists and running dog RINOs, it’s likely to get worse.

Now that the Senate has given its imprimatur to warrantless searches and armed FDA agents joining the multitude of unconstitutional armed federal agency police forces, the massive ammunition and weapons purchases by the likes of the Forest Service and the IRS become even more disturbing.

The Senate, too, gave him the NDAA with its arrest without charges or Constitutional rights and indefinite detention of American citizens. A disaster, manufactured or otherwise, is now legally a trigger for the imposition of martial law, and a lot of folks are rightfully concerned and nervous about this.

Given Obama-Soetoro’s well-known association with radical, unrepentant far left terrorists like Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, anti-American racists like Jeremiah Wright, his training in the philosophy of Marx and the tactics of Saul Alinsky, and his clear dislike of America, especially white, Christian America, there is no guarantee that the November elections will ever happen.

Americans truly need to understand that the lies and the liars of today are not simply politics as usual. These are dangerous people, out to turn America into a totalitarian socialist state, by whatever means necessary. And only We, the People, can stop them.

Ron Paul, as well as his demented offspring named after the founder of the modern conservative world, a crazy Russian lady by the name of Ayn Rand, are actualy closer to the Nazi party than any other party. These “nuts’ would let business do whatever they wanted to do – irreguardless of what it would do to Americans. “The free market solves everything!”
In the 1950′s America was the most prosperous nation on earth, and yet we still had a 95% tax bracket. We have less taxes now than ever, and have the WORST economy than ever before!!!
Well, remember, in the 1950′s, America was about 60% unionized. Of course, THAT had nothing to do with the economy.
And whose the last remaing voice out there who opposes the conservative “nazi” right, the LABOR MOVEMENT. That’s why Wisconson was so important. Now, thanks to you right wingers, you will kill the last remaining chance of any common person to get ahead in America.

Like all other human beings, the modern liberal reveals his true character, including his madness, in what he values and devalues, in what he articulates with passion.

Of special interest, however, are the many values about which the modern liberal mind is not passionate:

      His agenda does not insist that the individual is the ultimate economic, social and political unit;

      It does not idealize individual liberty and the structure of law and order essential to it;

      It does not defend the basic rights of property and contract;

      It does not aspire to ideals of authentic autonomy and mutuality;

      It does not preach an ethic of self-reliance and self-determination;

      It does not praise courage, forbearance or resilience;

it does not celebrate the ethics of consent or the blessings of voluntary cooperation.

It does not advocate moral rectitude or understand the critical role of morality in human relating.

The liberal agenda does not comprehend an identity of competence, appreciate its importance, or analyze the developmental conditions and social institutions that promote its achievement.

The liberal agenda does not understand or recognize personal sovereignty or impose strict limits on coercion by the state.

It does not celebrate the genuine altruism of private charity.

It does not learn history’s lessons on the evils of collectivism.

What the liberal mind is passionate about is a world filled with pity, sorrow, neediness, misfortune, poverty, suspicion, mistrust, anger, exploitation, discrimination, victimization, alienation and injustice.

Those who occupy this world are “workers,” “minorities,” “the little guy,” “women,” and the “unemployed.”

They are poor, weak, sick, wronged, cheated, oppressed, disenfranchised, exploited and victimized. They bear no responsibility for their problems.

None of their agonies are attributable to faults or failings of their own: not to poor choices, bad habits, faulty judgment, wishful thinking, lack of ambition, low frustration tolerance, mental illness or defects in character.

None of the victims’ plight is caused by failure to plan for the future or learn from experience.

Instead, the “root causes” of all this pain lie in faulty social conditions: poverty, disease, war, ignorance, unemployment, racial prejudice, ethnic and gender discrimination, modern technology, capitalism, globalization and imperialism.

In the radical liberal mind, this suffering is inflicted on the innocent by various predators and persecutors: “Big Business,” “Big Corporations,” “greedy capitalists,” U.S. Imperialists,” “the oppressors,” “the rich,” “the wealthy,” “the powerful” and “the selfish.”

The liberal cure for this endless malaise is a very large authoritarian government that regulates and manages society through a cradle to grave agenda of redistributive caretaking.

It is a government everywhere doing everything for everyone.

The liberal motto is “In Government We Trust.”

To rescue the people from their troubled lives, the agenda recommends denial of personal responsibility, encourages self-pity and other- pity, fosters government dependency, promotes sexual indulgence, rationalizes violence, excuses financial obligation, justifies theft, ignores rudeness, prescribes complaining and blaming, denigrates marriage and the family, legalizes all abortion, defies religious and social tradition, declares inequality unjust, and rebels against the duties of citizenship.

Through multiple entitlements to unearned goods, services and social status, the liberal politician promises to ensure everyone’s material welfare, provide for everyone’s healthcare, protect everyone’s self- esteem, correct everyone’s social and political disadvantage, educate every citizen, and eliminate all class distinctions.

With liberal intellectuals sharing the glory, the liberal politician is the hero in this melodrama. He takes credit for providing his constituents with whatever they want or need even though he has not produced by his own effort any of the goods, services or status transferred to them but has instead taken them from others by force.

It should be apparent by now that these social policies and the passions that drive them contradict all that is rational in human relating, and they are therefore irrational in themselves. But the faulty conceptions that lie behind these passions cannot be viewed as mere cognitive slippage.

The degree of modern liberalism’s irrationality far exceeds any misunderstanding that can be attributed to faulty fact gathering or logical error. Indeed, under careful scrutiny, liberalism’s distortions of the normal ability to reason can only be understood as the product of psychopathology.

So extravagant are the patterns of thinking, emoting, behaving and relating that characterize the liberal mind that its relentless protests and demands become understandable only as disorders of the psyche.

The modern liberal mind, its distorted perceptions and its destructive agenda are the product of disturbed personalities.

As is the case in all personality disturbance, defects of this type represent serious failures in development processes.

The nature of these failures is detailed below.

Among their consequences are the liberal mind’s relentless efforts to misrepresent human nature and to deny certain indispensable requirements for human relating.

In his efforts to construct a grand collectivist utopia—to live what Jacques Barzun has called “the unconditioned life” in which “everybody should be safe and at ease in a hundred ways”—the radical liberal attempts to actualize in the real world an idealized fiction that will mitigate all hardship and heal all wounds. (Barzun 2000).

He acts out this fiction, essentially a Marxist morality play, in various theaters of human relatedness, most often on the world’s economic, social and political stages. But the play repeatedly folds.

Over the course of the Twentieth Century, the radical liberal’s attempts to create a brave new socialist world have invariably failed.

At the dawn of the Twenty-first Century his attempts continue to fail in the stagnant economies, moral decay and social turmoil now widespread in Europe. An increasingly bankrupt welfare society is putting the U.S. on track for the same fate if liberalism is not cured there. Because the liberal agenda’s principles violate the rules of ordered liberty,
his most determined efforts to realize its visionary fantasies must inevitably fall short.

Yet, despite all the evidence against it, the modern liberal mind believes his agenda is good social science. It is, in fact, bad science fiction. He persists in this agenda despite
      its madness.

      Psalm 37
      King James Version (KJV)

1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
18 The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

The problem in Washington is the same as it has been during my life and that is the complete lack of knowledge of what the true value of the billions of dollars they insist on spending.

Since 1958 every politician who has favored relief for the “Middle Class” railed about the
excessive spending on NASA. President Obama’s partisan Recovery Act was for 787
billion dollars. According the Recovery Act website it created 162,000 jobs. The President put 200 billion dollars into entitlement programs, public record.

NASA began in 1958 and to the present year as reported by the Office and Budget has spent 474 billion dollars or around half of the Stimulus Program. This so called over priced space program over 54 years has directly employed over 1 million people and has produced 100,000 major viable products and improvements which employ millions more.

The entire space shuttle program has not reached 200 billion dollars. Is it beginning to sink in just how much actual value was wasted in the Recovery Act programs.,Why is not one national politician pointing out how much helping the middle class has cost the country in actual value and not effected the economy or improved the lives of anyone.

If this money had been spent on space programs to colonize the moon and explore mars
there would be millions more new workers and products that would be made in America and would keep the USA the leader in research. If you have to waste money at least have something to show for it.

    • 45caliber

I agree full heartedly! The space program had paid for itself even if we never got a rocket off the ground simply in the thousands of items it created for us such as the EKG. It is too bad more people don’t realize it. I think the real problem is that most such people tend to look at it as, “but I didnt’ get any of that money!”

There Is no way out of this mess who ever we put in office.we have gone passed the breaking point of no return.Any one interested ,should read” After Shock”.The authors of this book said that unemployment could reach as high as 50%. and inflation could be in the high double digits!!! If we elected a president who knew what the hell he was doing(the present one sure doesn’t!!)and a good congress to work with,it might soften things, but it will in no way prevent the coming “Crash!!!”and will take about 15 years to normalize the economy .

So, you think God dosen’t want Government to help us?

    Romans 13

    King James Version (KJV)

13 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
