ST. LOUIS, Aug. 17 (UPI) — The last of four men suspected of robbing $6.6 million from ATM Solutions in St. Louis has been caught more than a year after the robbery, authorities said.
Four masked, armed men overpowered guards and stole the cash Aug. 2, 2010, carrying it off in one of the company’s armored vehicles.
The FBI Fugitive Task Force arrested Aaron Hassan Johnson, 21, Tuesday about 3 miles from ATM Solutions. St. Louis police referred questions to the FBI, which confirmed the arrest but would not elaborate, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
Investigators wouldn’t say whether they found any of the more than $3 million in stolen money that remained missing, court filings indicate.
Jail officials said Johnson was being sought by the FBI and on warrants in St. Louis and St. Louis County, the newspaper reported. Johnson’s lawyer, Nick Zotos, refused comment Tuesday.
More than a dozen people face federal charges of planning, executing or helping hide or count cash in the robbery.
