Proof That Obama Is Stark Raving Mad

March 21, 2013 by

Our government-run public education system is very bad — so bad that generations of Americans educated in public schools don’t recognize idiots, economic illiterates, Ponzi schemes, frauds or Marxists when they see them. So I’m going to educate the masses with very simple examples that even a sixth-grader can understand.

Let’s compare America to your household. That makes it very simple and easy to understand.

Let’s say you make $50,000 per year, and you owe $250,000 in debt. You’re in deep trouble, right? One way or another, you are headed for bankruptcy court in the future.

Then you receive a credit line in the mail for $250,000. Are you rich? Of course not. That new credit line or credit card is not “income.” It’s a loan — to be paid back at high interest rates. You didn’t just gain $250,000. You just added $250,000 to your debt. You still make $50,000, but instead of owing $250,000 in debt, you now owe $500,000. You think you’re “saved.” Actually, you’re twice as broke as before. Insanity.

That’s exactly what Barack Obama is doing to the U.S. economy. He added $6 trillion in debt in only four years to “save” us from a terrible economy. Well, he didn’t save anyone. He just put all of us into much deeper debt. This debt will destroy the lives of our children and grandchildren. And the economy isn’t even better. It’s in shambles. If interest rates go up in the future, the entire U.S. economy will be destroyed by the debt.

But there is one part of the economy thriving: the stock market. That keeps going up because Obama has guaranteed the richest fat cats on Wall Street profits by the billions — from you! Yes, you’re paying for the richest people on Wall Street to get rich. Obama is stealing $85 billion per month from the taxpayers — mostly the middle class — to buy bonds that no one else wants and to buy mortgages that no one else wants, which automatically makes the stock market go up. That $85 billion per month that the Fed is printing goes straight to the bottom line of the biggest companies publicly traded on Wall Street. They get rich. Their CEOs get rich. Their shareholders get rich. The banks and hedge funds get rich. And you’re stuck with the bill.

Once again, those trillions of dollars printed by the Fed to make the stock market go up so Obama can act like the economy is getting better are not riches; they are debt. They are loans that need to be paid back by you, your children and grandchildren. Insanity.

Even worse, can you imagine if the $250,000 credit line that came in the mail to “save” you, was issued by you? That’s exactly what’s happening under Obama. We are so broke, so indebted, so insolvent that no one wants to buy our bonds anymore. That’s why the United States, Europe and Japan buy 60 percent to 90 percent of their own bonds. Do you understand what this means? That’s like your being so broke, so in debt, that you lend yourself the money to pay the bills you can’t afford.

Can you imagine if you owned a bank and gave yourself a $250,000 loan that no one else would give you because you are unqualified to handle more debt? You’d be destroying your own future, plus your own bank. You didn’t “save” yourself or your bank. You killed two birds with one loan. Insanity.

How about Obama’s claim that he “saved” the auto industry. Once again, it’s a combination of pure fraud and pure delusion. He didn’t actually “save” anyone. He just grabbed about $100 billion from the taxpayers — that’s you — to redistribute to auto unions so their members could continue to get their obscene unsustainable pensions and then kick back $100 million or so to Obama’s Presidential campaign. It’s called “pay for play.” It’s fraud, and someone should go to prison.

And, of course, we now know that the loss to taxpayers is at least $25 billion and maybe much more. So whom did Obama “save?” I could save any industry in the country by stealing $25 billion from taxpayers and handing it to that industry. But the reality is: You’re out $25 billion, folks. That’s more debt for your kids. They’ll be paying the interest on that debt decades from now, and they didn’t even get a lousy car out of the deal. Insanity.

What if your creditors agreed to a deal to restructure your debt, and they offered you the following deal: You owe us $250,000 and you can’t pay it back, so we’ll raise it to $500,000 and we’ll all agree things look better. Well that’s the “fiscal cliff” deal folks. To solve a debt crisis, we added $4 trillion to the spending and debt, and the President and Congress declared it a victory. Insanity.

What if things got so bad that you finally agreed to cut spending to save your personal economy? So you cut $10 per week to try to repay your $250,000 debt. Well, that’s the sequester, folks. We cut a measly $80 billion out of a $3.5 trillion budget, with more than $16 trillion in debt. We accomplished nothing. Insanity.

What if you were out of work for two years, and you got so discouraged that you decided to stop looking for a job and spend the rest of your life living off food stamps and disability; but because you’re not looking for a job anymore, you no longer consider yourself unemployed? That’s exactly how Obama can claim the unemployment rate is “improving.” Insanity.

Finally, here’s the most bizarre example of all. You are broke. Out of money. You can’t pay your bills. You still owe $250,000. Collection agencies are calling day and night. But you love the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt so much that you still write them a check for $25,000. That’s what Obama just did with your taxpayer money. Insanity.

I hope it’s all clear now. The U.S. economy is now best described as a combination of debt, fraud and delusion. And the CEO who runs it, President Barack Obama, is absolutely stark raving mad.

It took 200 hundred years, 1787 to 1987, for our national debt to reach one trillion dollars. It’s taken 26 years for our national debt to reach just shy of seventeen trillion dollars. But there’s a glich. What is considered a debt to the Federal Reserve isn’t really a debt. Forinstance, If you came to me to borrow $10,000 bogus dollars to buy a car, and I gave you the car free and clear of debt to use as collateral for the loan you are giving me and then defaulted on the loan, would I owe you anything? I already owned the car that is used as collateral for the loan. The Federal Reserve has nothing to loan so it uses things we, not them, already own to use as collateral for the printing of their paper. We already own the collateral that’s pledged against the loan to ourselves, not the Federal Reserve. What has the Federal Reserve contributed to the transaction? The Federal Reserve is using our property to use as collateral for the FRN’s it’s printing and loaning to anybody. Remember: The Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE institution, It is NOT affiliated with the government in anyway. The private bank Federal Reserve has a debt for all the counterfeit paper it’s printing, not us.

The Federal Reserve, aside from controlling the FRN”s used in America , controls the dollar internationally in that the dollar is the world’s soverign currency. For doing nothing but printing paper the Federal Reserve is buying the world. Bernie Madoff, move over; your a piker compared with this con game.

the first trillion dollar debt was in 1982. reagan. who raised taxes and the debt ceiling more times than any other administration. it is his, and the gop, borrow and spend policy you now complain about.

      • http://wildeyguns.com The Christian American

I know it was Reagan but the charts I’ve looked at say 1987. Reagan never vetoed a spending bill. That caused Ron Paul to bolt from the Republican Party and join the Libertarians for a while.

        Amen Richard,

I think these conservatives maybe were in hibernation from 1980-1988 and 2000-2008. It is their policies we are living with today and they act as if Obama came in and ruined everything with his dictatorial powers even though the GOP had either the Senate or the abuse of the filibuster from 2010 on in the senate to prevent much of what Obama wanted to accomplish. Not to mention the House has been in the GOP’s hands since 2010 and they have just been so eager to compromise to get something done haven’t they?

These conservatives are a comical bunch. Too bad the country suffers as they try and keep themselves relevent in the face of a changing racial and age dynamic that is going to spell the end of their extremist views in DC before too long.

Actually, he’s the mouth for his handlers. He’s very charasmatic and can sell their goals to most people.

He is Satan’s number one salesperson.

      • Texas Ride

Sorry, I don’t get the charasmatic part??

Obammie (pronounced like mammie) is doper-skinny, lop-eared, big nosed, arrogant, big-headed, self-admitted drug dealer, an illegitimate office holder, a homo (and we all know it) obviously a fraud, a self-annointed dictator that spends more of our money on himself than the Royal Family of England spends… but he has been taught to read the teleprompter! How about I start listing the really bad things about him..

      • Jeff

We get the picture, Texas Moron. Charisma is in the eye of the beholder. Obviously, your animal attractions run more toward Rick Perry and Jeff Sessions. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

      • Texas Ride

Jeff, so glad that you “get the picture.” I see that you couldn’t deny any of my description of obammie because what I said was true.

Wayne has been right about so much hasn’t he?

Obama is personally responsible for 6T in new debt. Can one of the conservative accountants here explain what Obama has personally put on the books to get that number? Give me specific programs Obama authored and their dollar amount.

    Thanks!

I love how NOW that Obama is in the White House, the conservatives worry about debt. Where were you in 1980 when Don Regan, Ronald Reagan and Alan Greenspan presided over the dismantling of our manufacturing base in the goal to break up the unions, made credit easier to obtain and deregulated the banks and wall street?

Oh, thats right… you were singing Reagan’s praises as he TRIPLED our debt in 8 years with his tax cut and spend policies and helped keep the middle class and poor’s wages stagnate while the wealthy’s wages skyrocketed. But of course the conserveatives say they earned it. If you call having the money to buy the lobbyists and the ability to get next to the politicians to buy the policies to put more money in your pocket regardless of what it does to the country, “earning it” then ok. I call it a redistribution of wealth and class warfare… You know those terms don’t you? Its what your conservative masters tell you to scream when a program that gets forwarded that actually helps the engine of our economy, the middle class and poor people of this country.

When people like Mr Root put forth an article that calls for big money out of politics, lobbying reform, actually paying for all our responsibilities and reforming our trade regs that have helped undermine this country, I will give Mr Root some credence… Until then, Mr Root and all his followers and believers are just STARK RAVING MAD.

    • Texas Ride

Uknowhow states: “Mr Root and his followers are STARK RAVING MAD.”

      PROVE IT!

Prove that Mr. W.A.R and his follwers are MAD. Come-on, lets have it. Substantiate your claim!. You can’t. The only one that is acting insane is obammie and there is plenty of evidence to that fact… for people that have the power to “reason.”

(The mindless fanatics on the left are the only tribal-worshippers of obammie. Yep, obammie has a “tribe” of the mindless.)

      • Dave

        Fine TX Ride…

Mr Root is not stark raving mad… He is just a master fibber and partisan if he says Obama added 6T to the debt and none of you can tell me what policies are responsible for the 6T that Obama put in place himself over a filibuster happy GOP in the Senate and a HOuse GOP that will not compromise because they hate Obama more than they love this country.

Sorry, Mr Root is full of it and so are you.

  • Brian G. Wright

OK… he’s destroying the country. OK.. he cares naught for the Constitution. OK.., Ok…Ok… but WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? Bitching and moaning here won’t help – it’s like to preaching to the choir. Get out your pens, call your representatives, support those who are AMERICANS and let’s do something about HIM!

    • Tommy cunningham

Not as easy at it sounds, the biggest problem is the uneducated voter, thatvotes these people into office who will violate the Constitution to give special incintives to those voters (poor, corporations, unions, minority groups, special interest groups ect…..) the voter gains something by voting for them and the elected official gain what he/she ,covets power, which the constitution is suppose to protect us from, “human nature” just a matter of time and it will collapse when they run out of other people’s money, getting close to the ledge now. As George Washington said, goverment is not reason it is force, like fire it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. We the people out about to get burned! It is not greed for a man to work hard and make himself rich and want to work harder to make more, true greed is when a man covers the fruits of another’s labour and devise a way to strip this property from the man who earned it cause its just not fair he worked for it, while the lazy have nothing, therefore they feel entitled to it.

    • http://wildeyguns.com The Christian American

Your right. We’re just the audience watching Nero and his legions burn our nation. They work at it 24/7 and we talk about it.

  • Pat

No, Obama is not stark raving mad, he knows exactly what he is doing. Greed is his illness.

He has powerful teachers and supporters. Read the “cookbooks” of dictators from the beginning.
Then you will know exactly why he makes every
    move that he does

Just study Chavez, whom Obama learned this anarchy along side of in Chicago. Study Sol Alinsky, Cloward and Piven, Bill Ayres, all acitvists from Chicago. Also study George Soros, Karl Marx, Hiler, Stalin, etc, etc.

Then you will under stand. and hopefully act to protect this great country.

    • Texas Ride

Pat, all you say is true, obammie is a mouth-piece for the globalists that really own this country. Obammie has been groomed all his life to play his part. Congress knows what he is and they closed ranks and both parties supported him, and agreed not to “vet” him as a candidate. The pubs ran their weakest candidate and McCain refused to campaign against obammie. McCain and his monkey are still supporting obammie (what have they been promised.)

In 2003, the dems tried eight times in twenty-two months to get the “natural born citizen” qualification abolished or make it a “moot point” where obammie was concerned. The traitors failed, but they put him in the presidency anyway and just ignored the constitutional requirements. It was planned as far back as 2003 that obammie would be president, most likely it was planned long before that.
The puke was selected, not elected by the powers that be and I don’t mean the government of the U.S.

What other Washington president would dare… “flip-off” the American people, show obvious disgust for the country and our way of life, be willing to destroy the country as his legacy, be able to claim all criticism was racist, incite a fanatical appeal to the unwashed gimmies, be a willing puppet for the wealthiest globalist in the world. Any White American doing obammie’s job would have been destroyed years ago.

      • Texas Ride

Jeff, why are you making yourself look like a “moron.” All is in the Congressional Record for you to read. The dems were frantically trying to get the constitutional qualifications changed for obammie. They knew exactly what he was in 2003, and they knew what they put in office in 2008.

      • Jeff

        TDM:

Obama was an unknown in 2003. Plus, there is no specific definition of “natural born citizen” that would preclude Obama from the presidency. I’ve read all the nonsense about both parents having to be from the Mayflower, etc. It’s all bull. None of the old cases you think held such nonsense actually say anything of the kind.

      • Karolyn

Texas – You make a good parrot.

      • mark

“Any White American doing obammie’s job would have been destroyed years ago?” What? Obama’s successor, George W. Bush started 2 massive unConstitutional wars that got 6,000 Americans killed and pushed through a massive Medicare Prescription Bill of $600 billion vs. Obamacare’s $800 billion. He got reelected and praised by millions of Republicans and Conservatives. No one destroyed him. Many Americans proclaim their nostalgia for his massive deficits, illegal wars, and huge health care package for seniors. No Tea Party rose up against George W. Bush event though he did the exact same thing and worse than what the same Tea Party accused Obama of. But of course as you say. George W. Bush is white. Could that be it? Gee, I wonder.

    • Jeff

Are you sure you can’t come up with any more tyrants for your list? And some never held any power so are they tyrants too? This the kind of moronic post that gives you wingnuts the bad name you so richly deserve. What % of the American people do you think would agree with any of what you have posted? Obama is Hitler? Stalin? It’s like comparing you to Einstein. If Obama were anything like Hitler, do you think you’d be posting this nonsense? Do you think Mitch McConnell and Rush Fatbaugh would still be drawing breath? You are a deluded fool if you think you can just throw around such comparisons. It is not an insult to Obama but to history.

Mr. Root: Is Obama “stark-raving-mad”? Yes, and so are his followers…

Liberal vitriol is a form of rhetoric that left-wingers commonly put on display in an attempt to malign the opposition. Like other forms of speech such as race baiting, liberal vitriol takes hate to extremes, primarily in political discourse. The main-stream media is guilty of such conduct and they focus exclusively on an anti-conservative message while hiding known instances from Democrats and pretending to be objective. After the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords, Democrats introduced legislation targeting the inciting of violence against political officials.

Pollster Frank Luntz specifically pointed to liberal online outlets – the Huffington Post, MoveOn.org and the Daily Kos, “Read the comments from people and maybe one out of five would qualify for violence.”

Could the President’s own statements influence a deranged Jared Loughner to commit murder? The media stays silent on the matter.

Notice the “trigger-words” from the “community-organizer” to incite his “useful-idiot” to violence…

Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose a** to kick.“
Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”
Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”

In Wisconsin, 18 different Republicans receive death threats in the week Gov. Scott Walker passed labor union reforms.

In an editorial January 2011, Frances Fox Piven called for a violent revolution, asking the jobless to rise up in a violent show of solidarity and force.

Jared Loughner may have been influenced by a January 6th, 2011 DailyKos post title “My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me!”?

The DailyKos had a picture of a target on Giffords because she was a centrist.

A Halloween display made news for a life-size doll resembling Sarah Palin hanging in West Hollywood.

Keith Olbermann reporting on a liberal student “This student doesn’t care about the U.S. and doesn’t consider it his own country. He wants to shoot George W. Bush because in his opinion he is the worst president ever. And he wants to be known as a national hero. Can’t see anything wrong with that idea.”

Liberal talk show host and Huffington Post writer Charles “Karel” Bouley was fired in 2008 for calling for the death of Joe the Plumber in a profane rant.

Bush Assassination Movie Wins Award at Toronto Film Festival.

Former Democrat Congressman from Pennsylvania Paul Kanjorski said, “That Scott down there that’s running for governor of Florida. Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him.”

What we are dealing with, folks, is a seriously disturbed individual, (Obama), who’s followers are prepared to commit the most “heinous” of acts, if necessary, against anyone who opposes their agenda, or criticizes their “monstrous-leader”!

Is that why Obama did the second bank bailout? because he hates the private sector?

Is that why he bailed out GM and let the new GM Chairman work autonomously to right the ship? because he hates the private sector?

Is that why Obama champions small business tax cuts because he hates the private sector?

Obamacare mandadtes that if you can afford health insurance, that you get PRIVATE HC insurance because he hates the private sector.

        Ok Jay… sure.

When faced with actual deeds, facts, quotes, mandates, executive order, stated wants and desires of obammie, liberals cannot handle it nor can they defend any of it!

It is funny to see their failed attempts to attack people that see and state “the truth.” Lliberals have no facts to support obammie’s innocence.

uknowho: Is that why Obama did the second bank bailout? because he hates the private sector?

When the Bush administration proposed TARP to prevent the collapse of the American banking system, one of the reasons there was opposition was that foreign banks might get bailed out. At the time, Fed Chairman Ben Barnanke denied they would receive funds. He lied! Not only did Ben lie, he hid this from the public.

U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke’s two-year fight to shield crisis-squeezed banks from the stigma of revealing their public loans protected a lender to local governments in Belgium, a Japanese fishing-cooperative financier and a company part-owned by the Central Bank of Libya.

Dexia SA (DEXB), based in Brussels and Paris, borrowed as much as $33.5 billion through its New York branch from the Fed’s “discount window” lending program, according to Fed documents released in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. Dublin-based Depfa Bank Plc, taken over in 2007 by a German real-estate lender later seized by the German government, drew $24.5 billion.

“The caricature of the Fed is that it was shoveling money to big New York banks and a bunch of foreigners, and that is not conducive to its long-run reputation,” said Vincent Reinhart, the Fed’s director of monetary affairs from 2001 to 2007.

Separate data disclosed on temporary emergency- lending programs set up by the Fed also showed big foreign banks as borrowers. Six European banks were among the top 11 companies that sold the most debt overall — a combined $274.1 billion — to the Commercial Paper Funding Facility.

uknowho: Is that why he bailed out GM and let the new GM Chairman work autonomously to right the ship? because he hates the private sector?

The US Treasury owns 60% of GM, the Canadian and Ontario governments together have 12% in exchange for $9.5 billion in financing. The United Auto Workers’ health care trust fund owns 17.5% and the remaining 10% is owned by unsecured creditors in the form of bondholders, they’re also being given warranties for a further 15%. That only adds up to 99.5%, i’m assuming some rounding knocked off that last half percent.

So the question is; was a bailout or a takeover?

uknowho: Is that why Obama champions small business tax cuts because he hates the private sector?

Many are renewals of tax breaks that already existed. Others are expansions of previous breaks, and every time a measure gets renewed, the Obama administration is counting it as yet another tax cut.

uknowho: Obamacare mandadtes that if you can afford health insurance, that you get PRIVATE HC insurance because he hates the private sector.

Not all, but some will be excused from Obamacare;people who are conscientiously opposed to paying for health insurance don’t have to do it where the conscientious objection arises from religion. This exemption will apply similarly to believers in Islam, which considers health insurance – and, for that matter, any form of risk insurance – to be haraam (forbidden).

      • Dave

        Jay,

Nice explainations but it doesn’t support your contention. Maybe next time you shouldn’t make such sweeping generalization when it is some easily shown that you are wrong here.

BTW according the the GM Chairman, Obama NEVER stuck his nose in the business of GM after the “takeover” and allowed GM to do it business after the Unions and Management agreed to compromise in order to get the Gov “takeover”. Which worked BTW.

      • Jeff

You should know by now that Repugs never let facts get in the way of a good story (or bumper sticker). They know Obama is a Kenyan Muslim Marxist and no stupid facts can convince them otherwise. Fortunately, the majority has finally grown up enough to reject out of hand this right wing idiocy that has imprisoned leaders for far too long. Eventually, this generation of Repugs will be regarded as we now regard Joe McCarthy and George Wallace – anachronisms.

      • Nick Czudy

Hear hear Jeff. I second your opinion. There isn’t a day that goes by without some Right Wing Opinion becoming touted as fact under the right wing bubble.

Just as an example. Obama is in Israel getting the highest award from the Israelis yesterday, that can be given to a non Israeli. they are falling over themselves, kissing his butt honoring his friendship and support for Israel. All of the media sources are showing this ceremony. All except Fox. They are showing a story on how Obama has thrown Israel under the bus and has been the worst President to Israel in history. They really embellished this show and of coarse the masses under the Right Wing Bubble will eat it up as fact.
This type of reporting has been rampant ever since Obama’s first election. There is a lack of ability to see what is happening and to make a rational conclusion of the facts.
If it is white, then the Right Wing will say it is black.
Do you know how us independents, see this type of behavior? It tells us that the GOP and Right Wing cannot tell the truth to us, when trying to get back into power. It tells me that I cannot trust them if they ever got into power. It tells me that being open and truthful is not a trait that I can expect from the GOP. Scams like the weapons of Mass Destruction and Watergate and more scams and crimes perpetrated against the people is what will happen is we reward this type of behavior by voting them back into power.
The funny thing is that they accuse Obama of lying and being non transparent. haha. Compared to the Right Wing, he is a saint.
I know that this behavior is like masturbation to the Right Wing. They do it for their base and followers, to satisfy their need for stimulation and self gratification.
But what you do not realize, is when you pander to your base with this self gratification, the rest of the country is able to listen in. It is not like you are whispering in a dark closet and no one else can hear. We all hear this crap. More and more Americans hear this pandering and lies and we are turned off by it.

There are some smart people on this site, that listen to this crap and can make an intelligent and rational decision on which philosophy to follow. Then there are those that will listen to this crap and eat it up like jello. Which one are you?

      • Jeff

The Israel issue has been the scene of some of the greatest hypocrisy by the right wing. Obama has been every bit as strong in support of Israel as any president since the country was formed. He has a prickly relationship with Netanyahu, but then so so roughly half the Israeli people. A lot of the tension comes from Netanyahu’s decision to embarrass V.P. Biden by restarting settlements while he was visiting. The Repugs’ idea of being pro-Israel is to write a blank check to the Israeli right wing and blindly support every dumb decision it makes. Obama is actually looking out for Israel’s best interests by pointing out when they are being short-sighted. He is absolutely correct that given demographic realities, the only way for Israel to avoid turning into South Africa is to negotiate a Palestinian State. The Likud Settlement Policy is the worst thing Israel can do for its long-term survival.

The ironic thing is the fundamentalist Christians, who not much more than a generation ago tolerated Jews only a little better than they tolerated Blacks, are now the self-proclaimed defenders of Israel. Jews still vote overwhelmingly for Democrats regardless how many lies the Repugs tell about how they’re going to “sell out” Israel. In Israel and in the American Jewish community, there is enormous debate over Israeli policies, but to the right wingers, any criticism of Likud or Netanyahu is treated as tantamount to anti-semitism.

Boston University economics professor Laurence J. Kotlikoff, who served as a senior economist on President Ronald Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers, says the U.S. debt totals $211 trillion, which is more than 15 times the official figure.

“We have all these unofficial debts that are massive compared to the official debt,” Kotlikoff tells National Public Radio. “We’re focused just on the official debt, so we’re trying to balance the wrong books.”

Kotlikoff explains that when America’s “unofficial” payment obligations such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits are included, the debt becomes almost exponentially greater.

“If you add up all the promises that have been made for spending obligations, including defense expenditures, and you subtract all the taxes that we expect to collect, the difference is $211 trillion,” says Kotlikoff, adding that politicians have chosen their language carefully to keep most of the problem off the books.

    “That’s our true indebtedness.”

Kotlikoff notes that about 78 million baby boomers are poised to collect about $40,000 each in the next 15-20 years. “Multiply 78 million by $40,000 — you’re talking about more than $3 trillion a year just to give to a portion of the population,” he says.

“That’s an enormous bill that’s overhanging our heads, and Congress isn’t focused on it. “Why are these guys thinking about balancing the budget?” he asks. “They should try and think about our long-term fiscal problems.”

If you check all of the wars and military actions of the 20th Century — World War I, World War II, Korea, Cuba (Bay of Pigs), Vietnam, Grenada, Iraq and Kosova — I believe you will find a Democrat in the White House when most of them were fought. Members of both political parties supported most of these wars, although there were almost always dissenters.

The troops we have in foreign countries at this time were sent with the approval of (both) political parties. Members of both political parties have approved treaties in which we are committed to defend other countries.

It is true that President George W. Bush, with the approval of Congress, sent our troops into wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq, but do you think that only Republicans get us into foreign entanglements?

        Jay,

As much as you wish to avoid reality, Iraq was ALL Bush/Cheney’s idea. They started that ball rolling, they wanted that war for their defense and oil industry friends and they all made out like bandits.

After 9-11, it wasn’t Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Hillary Clinton knocking on Bush’s door demanding we invade Iraq. It was Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Pearle, Wolfowitz and Rice spinning that web of lies and deciet. I know how many times Cheney went to the CIA in langley to get someone, ANYONE to lie for him.

What do we have to show for 3T in total cost, over a 100K Iraqis dead and over 4K Americans dead and tens of thousands injured?

China has easier access to Iraqi oil and Iran has a free hand in Persia.

Well done conservatives… You have just screwed this country as bad as Johnson and the Democrats did in Vietnam.

You should be proud… (not really, Bush Inc should be in jail)

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing WTS/JAYS

The Democrats who voted to support the war and rationalized that vote by making false claims about Iraq’s WMD programs – a minority of Democrats, but much over-represented in Democratic leadership councils – were responsible for allowing the Bush administration to get away with lying about Iraq’s alleged threat.

Here on the tenth anniversary of the Iraq War, it is important to remember that it was not just those in the Bush White House who were responsible for the tragedy, but leading members of Congress as well, (some of whom are now in senior positions in the Obama
        administration).

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing WTS/JAYS

unowho: As much as you wish to avoid reality, Iraq was ALL Bush/Cheney’s idea.

Well, they were certainly the “front-men”, no argument there…

unowho: They started that ball rolling, they wanted that war for their defense and oil industry friends and they all made out like bandits.

True! They made out like bandits, big-time…but there are also others who made out like bandits…

151 members of Congress invested close to a quarter-billion in companies that received defense contracts of at least $5 million in 2006. These companies got more than $275.6 billion from the government in 2006, or $755 million per day, according to FedSpending.org, a website of the watchdog group OMBWatch.

Congressmen gave themselves a loophole so they only have to report their assets in broad ranges. Thus, they can be off as much as 160 percent.

In 2004, the first full year after the present Iraq war began, Republican and Democratic lawmakers—both hawks and doves—invested between $74.9 million and $161.3 million in companies under contract with the DoD.

In 2006 Democrats had at least $3.7 million invested in the defense sector alone, compared to the Republicans’ “only” $577,500. As the war raged on, so did the billions of profits—and personal investments by Congress members in war contractors, which increased 5 percent from 2004 to 2006.

Investments in these contractors yielded Congress members between $15.8 million and $62 million in personal income from 2004 through 2006, through dividends, capital gains, royalties and interest.

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), who are two of Congress’s wealthiest members, were among the lawmakers who garnered the most income from war contractors between 2004 and 2006: Sensenbrenner got at least $3.2 million and Kerry reaped at least $2.6 million.

Members of the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services committees which oversee the Iraq war had between $32 million and $44 million invested in companies with DoD contracts.

War hawk Sen. Joe Lieberman (IConn.), chairman of the defense-related
Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, had at least $51,000 invested in these companies in 2006.

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), who voted for Bush’s war, had stock in defense companies, such as Honeywell, Boeing and Raytheon, but sold the stock in May 2007.

So you see, uknowwho, Bush and Cheney “got high with a little help from their friends”.

uknowho: After 9-11, it wasn’t Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Hillary Clinton knocking on Bush’s door demanding we invade Iraq.

Not true! Many Democrats supported the Iraq war before turning against it. But the prominent of Democratic flip-floppers were, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and John Kerry, who made a tidy sum investing in the war. The very same people who spent years beating up George Bush were the very ones beating the drum for Iraq’s regime change and Saddam’s ouster.

uknowho: It was Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Pearle, Wolfowitz and Rice spinning that web of lies and deciet. I know how many times Cheney went to the CIA in langley to get someone, ANYONE to lie for him.

Not exactly a revelation…but they weren’t the only principal participants. Sorry to burst your bubble.

unknowho: What do we have to show for 3T in total cost, over a 100K Iraqis dead and over 4K Americans dead and tens of thousands injured?

We have nothing to show for it. Perhaps you should have invested.

uknowho: China has easier access to Iraqi oil and Iran has a free hand in Persia.

        Again, not exactly a revelation.

uknowho: Well done conservatives… You have just screwed this country as bad as Johnson and the Democrats did in Vietnam.

It takes two to “Tango”, uknowho. Both parties work together for the obvious benefits…so both parties have done extremely well in screwing this country.

uknowwho: You should be proud… (not really, Bush Inc should be in jail)

Incarcerating Bush and Chaney would be a good start…but don’t stop there.

      • Dave

        Jay,

As I said, the war was Bush Inc’s idea…It started with that group of criminals. Hillary, Pelosi, Reid did not get that ball rolling. In the end, 21 Democrats and 1 Republican have any moral fiber here to deny Bush the war, the rest will not get my vote for anything… Not even dog catcher.

We should be going back to only going to war Congres declares it and there is a draft so their sons and daughters have skin in the fight.

Many Democrats were complicit. Thanksfully Obama’s record on his opposition to this BS has been consistant. That allowed me to vote for Obama in good conscience.

And you are right, Bush/Cheney should be in jail. Bush was the worst president we have had since the civil war and I find it comical when the conservatives even try and put Obama in the same universe. Obama can’t even sneeze without the GOP filibustering it in the Senate and the GOP in the House calling for Obama’s head for spreading viruses that are obviously the product of kenyan based-marxist experiments in order to destroy Ameica.

The reality is that Obama is just another corporatist. I had hope that Obama would govern with some real liberal values but alas, he is as much about corporate welfare and keeping the fat cats in power as any GOP president. I had hope for a while that Obama would be the Teddy Rooselvelt we needed but he is just another avg President caught in a hyper-partisan Congress.

Where to begin? 6 trillion in debt by this administration? Oh…as is the reglar fare, the wacked contingent will say “the Dems controlled COngress the last two years!”…ignoring that the Congress turned party’s in January 2007, and the economy started falling in the summer of 2007, frefalling in 2008. Own it folks…you gave us this economy..own it. Quit behaving like sniveling cowards.

That and by all economists accounting, the Fed actions have salvaged this ecnomy to be the one major economy on solid footing around the world showing at least growth. Joe, you think if interest rates stay near zero, the game will go on forever? You think inflation is near zero as well. Have you been to a grocery store? The purchasing power of your money is not the same today as it was in 2008.

You have to be delusional. How many historical examples do you need? Argentina, Zimbabwe, Russia, Weimar Germany, France, England, the Roman Empire, etc, etc!

The purchasing power of a Fiat currency does not last forever. The stage is being set globally for the next depression. Japan, Europe, and even our country to a large degree are in shambles. Papering over problems does not SOLVE them!

    • joe berger

first question what gov’t programs would you cut.?
      I’d certainly cut the military.
The USA has almost nothing in common with most of the examples you cite.
It is however… VERY MUCH a civilization in decline.
Every civilization in history grows out of a rigid class structure. Every civilization in history is RACIST…. All believed in some form of slavery and were willing to dominate and subjugate their neighbors. All were able to reproduce themselves and were willing to fight for its survival.
WW2 spelled the beginning of the end of Western Civilization. The West fought and died for “uncle” Joe Stalin. so he could occupy most of Europe. He then went on to ” communize” China, Korea, Vietnamm, Cambodia, etc. The Social Democrats ( the democratic wing of Marxism) took over all Western countries. The Marxists won and we lost. England … the greatest power the world had ever known. is today a pitiful decaying, degenerate society with a birth rate that will guarantee the extinction of its original white inhabitants If you think importing people from the most non productive countries in the world to replace the British is going to work .. you are sadly mistaken. The concept that all peoples are equal in ability is a totally Marxist idea that make no more sense than supposing that all breeds of dogs are equal When the police canine units are composed of Greyhounds and cocker spanials i will believe the Marxists.
Civilizations are constructed out of spiritual and genetic CAPITAL. The Japs and the Germans were bombed back into the stone age. but still they recovered economically. although Germany has now lost its soul ( And been Americanized) and will certainly follow the West into oblivion and extinction. But the Moslems totally reject Marxism and that is why they will win in the end. As Boumedienne said already in 1975 We Moslems will conquer you with the wombs of our women. Look around you … as the West decays the Moslems will certainly take over. our present birth rate gives us and all white countries a half life of about 50 years. What will happen when whitey becomes a minority, bordering on extinction. Look at Africa or Asia or the middle east for a glimpse of our future. And the Republicans are infected with social Marxism just as much as the Democrats. The white mans last hope was the non Communist Europeans of 75 years ago, but we destroyed them completely in favor of Joe Stalin. WE ARE FINISHED as a civilization. Such is the legacy of Marx.

If nothing is done, what is the natural outcome of this situation and what’s the timeline?
I don’t think calling the President mad is a great starting point, even if it appears to be
true. I do find it a bit hypocritical of the leader of a failing nation, to be always in the
media spotlight, ‘ partying, playing, golfing, vacationing, either going or returning, showing off his dance/singing skills, etc etc etc…. when does he get serious?, or is it
already too late to get serious about anything but the nations wake?

There is no outside enemy, no invasion force threatening the United States, no current sign of open rebellion in the streets just Americans going about daily business as usual.

The cabal is already trying to remove term limits for Obama. The house has not defunded Obama Care, the TSA, DHS, yet have defunded our military, firefighters, police and released thousands of Latino gang members not just drunks (was a chaos deal struck to help bring about Martial Law with drug lords?)

What about the drone program for US Soil?

In an essay published by the United States Army Combined Arms Center, Pryer laments how the use of unmanned drones – which kill 50 innocent civilian for every suspected terrorist – are perpetuating wars and endangering America’s global reputation. He then makes a stark warning that the drone strike program is merely a pre-cursor to the kind of nightmare technocracy depicted in the Terminator movies.

“It seems heart-breakingly obvious that future generations will someday look back upon the last decade as the start of the rise of the machines,” writes Pryer, adding that the US government is developing, “robots so advanced that they make today’s Predators and Reapers look positively impotent and antique. These killer robots, though, will share one thing in common with their primitive progenitors: with remorseless purpose, they will stalk and kill any human deemed “a legitimate target” by their controllers and programmers.”

A fine article, but I doubt that we will paying down these debts decades from now. The more likely outcome by far is that the government will collapse, the top leaders will flee the country, the debts will be repudiated, and the people expecting to be repaid will end up holding the bag.

Interesting point phideaux BUT, who are his handlers? This I’ve wondered about for some time. It’s obvious they put him in the Whitehouse even thoough he’s not legal but, what is their ultimate goal? They see themselves as our gods but, is destroying the Constitution and replacing it with Communist setting with them in the ivory towers their ultimate goal? Just what is it?

    • ? Chocopot

His handlers are George Soros and some other, generally unknown, uber-wealthy leftists who want a one world government – with them in charge, of course. Rather than call it Communism, I think feudalism would be more accurate. They will serve as the lords of the manor and everyone else will be a peasant, toiling to an early grave to serve and benefit them while they throw you a few scraps and expect you to be grateful for even that. That is where we are headed.

They are the one’s that need to be taken out. They told Bush and the American Govt. to go to war in Iraq so as to split up that country into thirds and it would be a threat no longer for their agenda. TIME to make that popping sound people and make a stand. But we will still have the likes of flashless, jopa and the rest that say it is the repubs. fault and they will be the first taken out

    Oh dear…..How utterly misconceived.
Whatever leads anyone to suppose that the National Debt will ever be paid by anyone.
who will foreclose ? what is the reposessible collateral.? there is NONE.
Japan has one of the most efficient economies in the world. Their debt is gigantic, but their interest rate hovers around ZERO. The size of the debt is totally irrelevant since it will NEVER have to be repaid…. except by the creation of new money. Since the principal and interest are now being paid with money created out of nothing.
    WHO CARES ??
    GET REAL..!!!!
The real wealth of a country lies in the goods and services produced by its citizens.
Money is just the paper that makes an economy function.
How on earth is the National Debt relevant to anyone’s REAL LIFE ??
All that matters is that most people have a job, and that people have a house and can eat and THAT INFLATION REMAIN LOW.
    What more do you want.?
    GET REAL !!!!

    • Warrior

And when the “citizens” stop producing we get more GDP (Gubmint Domestic Products). Hooray, we’re saved! How bout we go to Chili’s tonight and spend our new found “wealth”?

    • Mike

Joe, the problem is that Inflation is not nearly as low as they broadcast. Just like the “massaged” unemployment numbers, the Inflation Rate Calculation no longer takes Food & Energy into consideration. Those two areas of our cost of living have gone up in price faster and higher than any other area of our lives. The real inflation rate is somewhere between 4.5% and 5%. By simply printing our fiat currency into oblivion we are diluting its value and countries around the world are moving away from the USD as the trade currency. One of the biggest reasons that oil is at its current price is because most of the OPEC members no longer accept USD. Luckily, the Saudis still do, although I say “luckily” rather tongue-in-cheek.

China has enough cash reserves right now to buy all the world’s gold twice over! And they are! By 2015 China will announce to the world that their currency is fully backed by Gold (and silver too), which will prompt the IMF to drop the fiat USD like a bad habit and make the Chinese currency the new global trading standard. You may be right about not having to payoff the debt, but if our solution is to just keep printing paper money than we’re putting our own necks in the hangman’s noose. A brief study of history teaches us this.
I don’t care what is happening in Japan, nothing lasts forever. And I certainly don’t want to pay $125+ for a 2.5 lb lobster like they do in Japan. You want that?

    • TIME

      Dear Joe,

WOW, I bet you figured all that out by the “Majic” of the rapacious mass media,

If that was true, we could all quit our jobs and wait for the government to print more money for us to live on. We could import all our food and cloths etc.. I still believe someone has to get stuck with the bill. You can’t get something for nothing.

      Joe Brain-burger -
Go somewhere like an old book depository of some sort and find an history book that discusses the progression of economic events in Post-WWI (That stands for After World War One) Germany and the Weimar Republic. Do not rely on the recently issued re-engineered and misrepresented conceptions of history put out to beguile and defile the minds of the Polly Anna people like yourself who’ve recently been regurgitated out on our streets by teacher’s unions.
      Then ask yourself two questions:
      1.) Presidents John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan took dismal economies and turned them around in short order to booming freedom and economic prosperity, by what similar policy actions;
2.) Presidents Lyndon Johnson and Carter, later Geo. Bush (one), Clinton and Bush (two) instituted policies that ratcheted prosperity down to our present misery (which has been made infinitely worse into perpetuity) by Joe Cool and his herd of mid-east camel jockeys, by what similar policies?.
Now, ask how (?) and why (?) and what kind of differing philosophies are evident?

Don’t kid yourself that there isn’t anything that represents collateral to someone who expects his payback. Remember, loan sharks exercise their options according to their whims.
Unless you have been bought out of the system by someone who paid for your ransom – like Jesus Christ did for me and others of us who come here – your body, mind, estate, kids and the rest of your time on earth are owned and valuable.

Don’t think slaves make decisions about their future, either.

    • Frank Kahn

I am surprised that GALT has not yet entered into this discussion. Maybe he is busy with real life and not gotten around to it yet.

I am not an economist, I don’t support the policies of Obama, I believe that austerity (balanced budget) is a good thing. I believe the way the stimulus was handled by Obama was bad. The fear mongering about the sequester is wrong.

However, timing is everything, austerity is good, but not now. To cut spending by the government, during an economic crisis, will exacerbate the problem. The trickle down effect of public spending will damage the economy. Public expenditures support jobs by purchasing goods and services. The people who provide these goods and services contribute to the economy. Their contributions, through spending money for other goods and services support other jobs. Properly handled, stimulus is able to transfer private debt to public debt. This reduces the amount of money citizens have to pay for their debt. That frees up more of their money for discretionary spending which boosts the economy. This is a form of debt forgiveness.

      You said:

“The real wealth of a country lies in the goods and services produced by its citizens.
Money is just the paper that makes an economy function.
How on earth is the National Debt relevant to anyone’s REAL LIFE ??
All that matters is that most people have a job, and that people have a house and can eat and THAT INFLATION REMAIN LOW.
      What more do you want.?”

I have already tried to give a very rudimentary explanation of how National (public) debt is relevant to real life (private debt). Now, to the assertion that a low inflation rate is absolutely good.

If you just look at inflation in the area of how much you pay for goods and services, compared to your income, then it is a problem. If, however, you look at inflation’s effect on your assets values, it is entirely different. If you consider the possibility that inflation is, say 10% per year across the board. If you own a $100K house (asset), in less than 10 years your house (asset) has increased to $200K. If you originally had a $90K loan on it, you had a 10% asset above debt net worth. In 10 years you would have a 55% asset above debt net worth. Also, if your income level had kept pace with inflation, you would have a smaller percentage of your income going towards paying your debt, which would give you more discretionary spending money.

Now, the reality of inflation and austerity are much more complex than what I am putting forth, but I wanted to give a small example of why it is not always good to think short term when it comes to economic conditions and policies.

I am sure that GALT could explain the full impacts and considerations on this subject better than me. I am also almost as certain that RBT will come in and accuse me of pretending to be an expert on the economy. As I said before, I am not an economist, I just see certain aspects of how some things work.

      • Right Brain Thinker

No, Frank, I will not accuse you of pretending to be an expert on the economy and economics. We all know that you “pretend” to be an expert on nearly every topic you address—-no sense repeating that—-it’s self evident.

I WILL say that you made some sense for extended periods in this little essay, although in other places you got quite confused and wandered off into La-La land. Some of it may have been “typos”, like the “trickle down” sentence in the first paragraph—you may have got it backwards by accident.

I am pretty well -educated on economics but claim no special expertise—-I will leave it to others who know more to help you “organize your thoughts” here. Giving it a quick glance, you have made a half decent start, much better than you do on things “scientific”.

If the American people ever allow a central bank to issue their currency the banks and corporations that will grow around them, will first through inflation, then with deflation will rob the people of their wealth, and your children will end up homeless on the continent your fathers conquered. Thomas Jefferson

    Sound familiar?

    • Vigilant

“The first part of the quotation (“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered”) has not been found anywhere in Thomas Jefferson’s writings, to Albert Gallatin or otherwise. It is identified in Respectfully Quoted as spurious, and the editor further points out that the words “inflation” and “deflation” are not documented until after Jefferson’s lifetime.”

      http://www.monticello.org/site/jefferson/private-banks-quotation

      • wayne andrews

Does it really matter if he said it or not? No. You’re merely diverting from the topic at hand. The founding fathers warned us of the dangers of privitized banks. Its in the Constitution. Please…brush up if you even read it at all. Privitized banking systems were one of the reasons that the colonists fought for Independence.

      • STEVE E.

Whoever said it, it’s is still coming true.

      • Vigilant

You are correct in that the sentiment expressed, apocryphal or not, is a valid one.

However, the Constitution does not expressly prohibit privatized banks. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Marshall

“McCulloch v. Maryland (1819) was one of several decisions during the 1810s and 1820s involving the balance of power between the federal government and the states where Marshall affirmed federal supremacy. He established in McCulloch that states could not tax federal institutions, and upheld congressional authority to create the Second Bank of the United States, even though the authority to do this was not expressly stated in the Constitution.”

Your gratuitous statement, “Please…brush up if you even read it at all” is a swipe I don’t appreciate. I suspect I know more about the Constitution than most participants on this forum.

      • Right Brain Thinker

wayne andrews says, “Does it really matter if he said it or not?”
I sure does matter, wayne. Especially since we see so much quoting of old dead white guys by folks who are trying to puff up their arguments and make themselves look “important”. A “real” quote is just a BIT better than saying “Abe Lincoln might/should have/could have said this if he knew that I wanted him to say it”. Lord love a duck!

And you say, “The founding fathers warned us of the dangers of privatized banks. Its in the Constitution.” That’s news to me—I want to “brush up” so point me to what article/section says that—–I don’t read my Constitution every day but it sits within easy reach. I wouldn’t mind hearing more also about “Privatized banking systems were one of the reasons that the colonists fought for Independence”—-where can I find that info?:

Let’s start by stripping away the attacks, on the President and each other and look at the key issues:
      1) Mental Sanity isn’t the issue; it’s political and economic philosophy

      2) The basic laws of economics, like physics, are un changeable. Regardless of how much you want something to happen that is in violation of either physics or economic laws the outcome won’t vary. I wish I could fly but no matter how many times I jump off the roof flapping my arms I’m still going to fall to the ground.

3)When a nation, any nation, goes into debt and doesn’t change it’s basic financial policies the outcome will always be the same. (Just look at Spain,Ireland, Greece, Italy for examples)

3)If a Nation continues to spend more than its income their are only two probable outcomes, beyond going further in debt: a- Hyper Inflation or b-Devaluation of the currency

      4) Over the past 4 years the value of the US Dollar has dropped by approx 30%. This makes imported goods more expensive and, theoretically, exports more competitive. This is theoretical as other factors impact exports

      5) The key to government spending rarely is based on economics; almost always it’s political philosophy. As long as those in power believe it is the Governments job to provide everything for everyone, as long as they believe all decisions and power is best done and held by the government they will spend without consideration of the revenue or income side, other than to confiscate more and more of the producers, the owners and workers money

Looking at the issue from this perspective it’s clear the problem isn’t sanity per se but a political desire to change the very fabric of our nation. A desire to consolidate all power and authority within a central government. A desire to make the people dependent on the government. A desire to change the fundamental belief that the people empower the Government and the Government being restricted by the Constitution to a government of unrestricted, unlimited power and authority.

Many other countries have gone down that path and the result was the same for each; thousands, even millions of citizens murdered, unmotivated and unhappy workers, and a totally failed economies that have impoverish the majority of their people.

This is the path Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the other Progressives want to take thinking they can make it work when no one else has because they are “smarter”.

Is this insane? Perhaps but those who elect them certainly are!

Try doing some research before you show the world just how ignorant you are. The entire financial disaster we have suffered and which is still upon us was set up and orchestrated by the Democrats, with the Community Reinvestment Act being the main vehicle. Every time Bush tried to bring some sanity to the situation and end the madness, the Democrats (Chris Dodd and Barney Frank chief among them) put a stop to it and announced that there really was no problem. Bush had nothing to do with the financial disaster we are now enduring. Go home, troll, and hide under your rock.
