New York Police Find ‘Arsenal’ In Man’s Home

Law enforcement officials in Long Island, N.Y., are lauding a “huge gun bust” after confiscating and “arsenal” of 300 handguns, shotguns and rifles from the residence of 66-year-old Jerry Steiner, who they allege was running an illegal gunsmithing business.
“We see weapons all over the place,” Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said. “More than 85 illegal handguns and 250 rifles, shotguns and what you will see is a machine gun.
“This fellow had more firepower than the detectives when they went to search the house. And those weapons, his room overlooks that high school,” Spota said.
According to authorities, Steiner had previously been licensed to buy and sell firearms, but his license had expired.
Authorities said they also found metal parts in the house that can change rifles into machine guns, according to CBS New York.
“Just possession of this piece of metal is considered to be possession of a machine gun,” Spota said.
Steiner, who is free on $25,000 bond, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
