FORT WORTH, Texas, (UPI) — Police said they arrested a man dressed in a Lady Liberty costume who was trying to get customers for a Texas tax services office.
Fort Worth police said Channing Gould, 19, was arrested Monday afternoon for violating a city ordinance against distributing, selling or soliciting on medians and traffic islands, WFAA-TV, Dallas/Fort Worth, reported Wednesday.
Police said he was also charged with resisting arrested when he refused to comply with the officer’s orders and had to be subdued with a Taser.
Gould said he tried to explain to the officer that he was just doing his job on half of Liberty Tax Services.
“I told him, ‘Get away from me! What are you doing? Go talk to my boss!’” Gould said. “[The officer] doesn’t cooperate with me. And then he takes out his Taser.”
Gould said he plans to fight the charges.
