Military Jet Rattles Atlanta Windows
ATLANTA, (UPI) — The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the cause of reported window shakings in Atlanta was a flyover by a military jet.
Several Atlanta residents posted online Tuesday about their office windows shaking and Twitter user Kelley Conway was able to snap a picture that appeared to be a fast-moving Marine F-18 jet, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed there was a flyover at 11 a.m. Tuesday to honor Marine Col. William LeRoy Bates Jr., whose funeral was held Tuesday at All Saints Episcopal Church.
Bates died Feb. 22 from complications from an aneurysm at the age of 91. He was a decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean War before retiring from the Marines in 1965.
