Wyoming Lawmakers Seek To Protect State From Gun Grab

Lawmakers in Wyoming are gearing up to take action against any Federal, State or local threats to the 2nd Amendment rights of the State’s residents.

The State’s proposed bill, the Firearms Protection Act (HBO104), would nullify any Federal restrictions on guns. It threatens to jail Federal agents attempting to confiscate guns, magazines or ammunition, thereby allowing rightful State gun regulation.  The rule would apply to those firearm products manufactured and kept in the State.

The bill, sponsored by eight Wyoming State Representatives and two State Senators, would declare any Federal gun regulation created on or after Jan. 1, 2013 to be unenforceable within the State if it passes. It would also give State authorities the ability to arrest Federal officials attempting to enforce Federal firearm laws and would make said Federal officials making them “subject to imprisonment for not less than one (1) year and one (1) day or more than five (5) years, a fine of not less than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), or both.”

It would also grant Wyoming’s Attorney General the power to defend State residents brought up on Federal firearm charges.

Wyoming State Senator Larry Hicks said the legislation should send a message to Federal gun grabbers.

“It says that your one size fits all solution doesn’t comport to what a vast majority of the State believes,” Hicks explained in an interview.

Vice President Biden signaled yesterday that President Barack Obama was willing to issue an executive order to tackle the gun issue — something Hicks says his constituents are livid about.

“They are very, very upset that we’re going to see some level of federal takeover of our weapons and abuse of our rights given to us by the Second Amendment,” Hicks stated. “Also that the Federal government will bypass our legislative officials and confiscate our weapons through executive order. This gives citizens of the Western United States a great deal of concern.”

The Wyoming bill is based on a law passed in Montana in 2009 that exempts firearm products made in the State from draconian Federal laws.

    Pathetic… Once again the “guns to anyone at anytime” crowd is at it again.

    Israel:

    They have a 60 day waiting period, a psych evaluation before guns are sold, a national database to track weapons, training on the use and storage of weapons and limits on the amount of ammo that is sold.

    This is common sense gun control to help prevent gun deaths. The Gun nuts do not care about the deaths from guns, as they don’t care about what a “well regulated militia” means in the 2nd Amendment.

      Not that I even care about your opinion, but did you forget about the second part of that amendment? You know where it says “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”? Note the last four words, shall not be infringed. In case you are English impaired I shall repeat those words, shall not be infringed.

      Hmmm…I don’t see anything else after those words. Nothing in there that states except for automatic weapons or you can only have so many or you must limit the amount of ammo you have or high capacity magazines can be limited. Nope. I just can’t find the part that limits gun ownership. I really can’t. Let me look again, well, it seems to read “shall not be infringed.” Yep…it sure does.

      They aren’t just giving guns to anyone these acts are not changing who can and cannot own guns. It will still be illegal for felons to possess firearms. These acts just protect the citizens right to own certain firearms. If the federal government would wise up and realize its not the guns that are the problem the states wouldn’t need to pass acts like these. The government needs to address violent criminals getting reduced sentences. The government needs to address gun free zones our children need to be protected arm teachers or place armed guards in schools.

    these dictatorial decree`s from d.c. are in contempt of the law, invented by criminals to better and only serve criminals. the 1st 10 amendment`s are immutable, in, (not un) alienable, granted by God and not subject to legislation, executive order, or government, period. in 1902, the 2nd amendment received emphatic and protective congressional endorsement, under what was called the dick act. as tony newbill shared earlier, mr. scott expressed himself both eloquently and factually. very few of these congressmen have ears to hear that sort of truth, that slaps w/the ring of a silver dollar on a hard-wood bar, but it was put before them, by a courageous and honest american.

    Well I see James Yeager lost his CCW permit in the state of Tenn.after claiming he was going to start killing people in a video that went viral if there were gun law changes.That is one dude that should have his guns taken away and be sent to an asylum along with a whole host of others from this site.Too many crazies in the world today and to know they even have guns is scary.

I don’t know if you’re for or against guns, but those of us who support the 2nd Amendment need to be the ones most careful about how and where we use firearms

    COLUMBINE STUDENT’S FATHER 12 YEARS LATER

    Guess our national leaders didn’t expect this On Thursday, Darrell Scott,

    the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings

    in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary

    Committee’s subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this

    special session of Congress was painfully truthful.

    They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well.

    It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every

    sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These

    courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and

    deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying

    in the wilderness.. The following is a portion of the transcript:

    “Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of

    men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of

    violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the

    deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must

    not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.

    “The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out

    in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA,

    the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for

    the murder could only be found in Cain’s heart.

    “In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how

    quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a

    member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here

    to represent or defend the NRA – because I don’t believe that they are

    responsible for my daughter’s death. Therefore I do not believe that they

    need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel’s

    murder I would be their strongest opponent

    I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy — it was a

    spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame

    lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies

    behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just

    four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

    ” Your laws ignore our deepest needs,

    Your words are empty air.

    You’ve stripped away our heritage,

    You’ve outlawed simple prayer.

    Now gunshots fill our classrooms,

    And precious children die.

    You seek for answers everywhere,

    And ask the question “Why?”

    You regulate restrictive laws,

    Through legislative creed.

    And yet you fail to understand,

    That God is what we need!”

    “Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and

    spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create

    a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc.

    Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of

    our nation’s history. Many of our major colleges began as theological

    seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation?

    We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred

    and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine’s tragedy occurs

    — politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They

    immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away

    our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws.

    Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of

    gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre.

    The real villain lies within our own hearts.

    “As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two

    friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in

    school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge

    every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on

    April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our

    schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain.

    Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation

    that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you

    who would point your finger at the NRA — I give to you a sincere

    challenge.. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone!

    My daughter’s death will not be in vain! The young people of this country

    will not allow that to happen!”

      tony, thanks for sharing this email and this story. I’m always skeptical about email’s circulating around the net so I searched and confirmed that Darrell Scott did infact make those comments in front of Congress. Of course the media gave Mr. Scott’s speech much coverage…as usual.

    The 2nd Amendment to the U. S. Constution does not GRANT the right to keep and bear arms. It PRESERVES a right that was already in existence. Also, nowhere in the Constitution can the words “hunt” or “hunting” be found.

        Don’t sweat the typos. A well educated friend of mine once said that if a typo does not change the meaning of what is being said, ignore it! What’s more, English spelling was once much more variable than it is now. Some holdovers of this still exist, such as: neighbour (Canadian), neighbor (American), harbour/harbor, labour/labor, etc.. Just consider your typos as your contribution to the evolution of the American language and just for fun look at what the youngsters are doing with texting.

      Every state needs to simply “nullify” the law. Our forefathers gave us the right to do away with any laws of the state finds “unconstitutional” can simply nullify that law within their state….which tells the government to *&ss off.

Wyoming has a law that does the same thing, but Wyoming’s law allows for jail time for anyone trying to enforce gun laws on in-state guns. Wyoming is also a constitutional carry state. You can carry concealed or open without a permit everywhere except schools and state or federal buildings. You can only open carry in a bar.

      However futile it may be, I did send a request to my two state representative in Sacramento, Ca to introduce and sponsor similar legislation in California.

      Note: California is fully controlled by the Democrats who are supported by the SEIU/Teachers unins and the environmental extremist wackos…the Democrats run the show and they shun anyone in goverment that doesn’t tow their party line which is exactly the reason why California is near bankrupt and losing businesses and tax paying citizens on a daily basis. Industry is but a pittance of what it once was and these progressive legislators will destroy what is left through onerous taxation and extreme epa requirements. These are just facts that cannot be disputed.

        You have to have thick skin to live in SoCal…anywhere close to LA and their ultra-progressive mayor Villaraigosa. He’s been investigated several times and even accused of ethics violations as well as nepotism as well as being a member of Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns.
