Obama Teams Up With Big Business To Destroy Middle Class

January 10, 2013 by

Hello, I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. Let’s get to the story of Obama, the ultimate crony socialist teaming up with big business to wipe out small business and the middle class.

I’ve said it before; I’ll prove it again. President Barack Obama is a unique breed of socialist. He is a hybrid socialist/fascist. He understands that he needs “cover” to destroy America. He needs the support of famous billionaires like Warren Buffett and credible fat cat corporate CEOs like Jeffrey Immelt of GE to convince the masses that he is not out to destroy capitalism. He needs to show that rich people are on his side, that these rich guys agree with him that tax increases on the rich are “fair.”

And the rich fat cats of big business will be glad to help him, as long as they share in the spoils. They’ll be glad to pay an extra $100,000 a year in taxes as long as long as Obama spreads the wealth around – to them. As long as he hands them billion-dollar tax credits, stimulus, bailouts, government contracts, corporate welfare and loopholes big enough to drive an 18-wheeler through.

That’s exactly what’s happening in America today. The super rich and the big corporations have teamed up with Obama and his socialist cabal to wipe out the middle class, upper middle class and small business. They’re doing it with taxes, rules, regulations and mandates. Obama claims they’re aimed at the rich, but in reality they are aimed squarely at the middle class, upper middle class and small business.

Big business loves taxes, rules and regulations because they have the lobbyists and armies of lawyers and accountants to either avoid it, shelter it or deal with it all. But small business doesn’t. So the competition of big business gets put out of business.

Obama, on the other hand, has many reasons for targeting small business. First, he knows that’s where the money is. That’s where he will get the bulk of his massive tax increases. There aren’t enough billionaires or $100 million men to pay for all of Obama’s plans. He needs trillions of dollars to create his cradle-to-grave welfare state.

That’s where small business comes in. There are several million taxpayers in America who make $250,000 to $500,000 per year. Almost every one of them owns a business. I’m one of them. We are the target. These are the independent thinkers. These are the self-made capitalist evangelists. These are the stubborn, principled fiscal conservatives who despise Obama and his plans for equality, social justice and income redistribution. Small business makes up the heart of the resistance.

Secondly, small-business owners fund Obama’s political opposition. We make most of the contributions that fund conservative candidates and causes. Small business will never sell out conservative fiscal principles. Never. So Obama is at war with small business. He can’t win without confiscating our money and getting us under his thumb.

Besides, what does Obama care about a $250,000-per-year small-restaurant owner? That person is insignificant to him. But the CEO of a billion-dollar conglomerate is very significant to Obama. That company can write $100,000 or $1 million checks to Obama’s campaign or his inauguration or the Democratic National Committee or an Obama-supporting PAC. And that Fortune 500 company has teams of lawyers and lobbyists, all willing to write big fat checks.

The ground has shifted in America. There used to be a team fighting for conservative fiscal principles. Wal-Mart, Wall Street, big banks and most of corporate America partnered with small business to support capitalism, conservative candidates and causes. Today, there’s been a sea change. A divorce. A “War of the Roses.” Big business and corporate America have sold out to Obama. They couldn’t care less about small business, or capitalism or conservative fiscal values. They aren’t capitalists anymore; they are crony capitalists.

And they are in bed with Obama, the world’s biggest crony socialist.

It started with the bailouts and stimulus. Big business begged, lobbied and received billions of dollars. Small business got the shaft. All we got only the bill. It’s our kids and grandkids who will still be paying the interest on bailouts and wasted stimulus generations from now. Wall Street cheered as the stock market soared. But for small business down on Main Street, it’s been a Great Depression for four years under Obama. Small business is dying.

The irony is that small business creates most of the jobs. Since the first day of the Ronald Reagan Presidency, about 40 million jobs have been created in America. The entire net of 40 million jobs was created by small business.

But small business owners don’t have lobbyists or connected Washington, D.C. law firms. We can’t afford to each give millions of dollars to politicians, so we get shafted. Look around the room. If you can’t tell who the sucker is, it’s you. Small business is the odd man out. We are the sucker. We are the target of Obama and his socialist cabal and now his newest partners in crime: big business.

Then came Fed policies. Obama orders the Fed to print trillions of fake dollars to keep the economy afloat. Where does it all go? To big business. To banks. To Wall Street. To publicly traded multinational companies. None of it has ever reached Main Street.

Then came Obamacare. I never in a million years imagined big business would support Obama’s big government, nanny state healthcare scheme. Back in the 1980s, big business teamed with small business to stop Bill and Hillary Clinton’s attempt to socialize medicine and put government in charge of the entire healthcare system. Not this time.

This time, big business took Obama’s side. Health insurance and Big Pharma were bribed with billions of dollars in new revenues sent their way. The rest of big business went along with Obama because he promised them lower corporate taxes.

Then came the coup de grace: the so-called “fiscal cliff” crisis. Small-business owners pay their taxes as individuals. They own Subchapter S and LLC corporations that pass all income down to the individual small-business owner. The lawyers and lobbyists of big business saw an opening. The goal was simple: Ask small-business owners who file individual taxes (mom-and-pop stores that create all the new jobs) to pay dramatically higher taxes and lose valuable deductions (like charitable and mortgage deductions), so that big corporations (many of which move jobs offshore and keep billions of dollars of profits parked offshore too) could dramatically reduce their taxes.

The Wall Street Journal reported on groups like the Business Roundtable (made up of 150 corporate titans) and the RATE Coalition (AT&T, Ford, Lockheed Martin, Home Depot) publicly endorsing and blessing big tax hikes on mom-and-pop America.

The $625 billion tax increase passed. Big business didn’t get their corporate tax cut… yet. But boy did they get goodies: $40 billion in crony capitalism payoffs. The new tax bill gives away $78 million in tax breaks to benefit NASCAR, $62 million in tax credits for companies operating in American Samoa, $222 million of tax rebates to rum companies, $430 million in tax rebates for Hollywood film producers, $12 billion (with a “B”) in tax credits for wind power phonies like GE, $2.2 billion to renewable diesel companies, $650 million to manufacturers of energy-efficient appliances and $222 million in accelerated tax depreciation for businesses located on Indian reservations. Many of these companies will pay no taxes at all because of these rebates and credits.

Mom-and-pop small businesses just had their income redistributed to Big Business. Billion-dollar companies ripped off small businesses on Main Street under the guise of a “fiscal cliff.” If we were on a cliff, how could we afford to give $430 million to Hollywood film producers? This was the greatest swindle since Bernie Madoff.

I predict this was only the start of Obama’s payoff to corporate America. I guarantee you that Obama told the corporate lobbyists that he’ll give them $40 billion in tax credit gifts now. So be patient and wait for 2013, when we will implement serious “tax reform.” That’s code words for fleecing small business and middle America again. This means even higher taxes and more loss of deductions for individuals, in return for “tax reform” that dramatically cuts corporate tax rates. Anyone want to bet?

It’s all part of the Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven plan. Build an alliance with big business to fund your plan to overwhelm the system and socialize America.

Obama’s big government, socialist agenda isn’t aimed at the super rich. That’s just a head fake to cover the truth. That’s just the propaganda he uses to sell his con game to the masses. Obama’s destructive agenda is aimed squarely at you: entrepreneurs, small-business owners and the middle class.

Obama’s goal is to create two classes of Americans: the super rich (who support and contribute to Obama, who then rewards them with bribes, stimulus, bailouts and government contracts) and the poor (who loyally vote for Obama to receive the handouts they need to survive). In Obama’s view of America, the middle class and small business must be destroyed, and the poor must be kept in their place (that place is hopeless, helpless and dependent on him).

The cat is out of the bag. The crony capitalists are in bed with the greatest fraud of all time: Obama, the crony socialist.

It’s now every man for himself.

That’s my commentary for today. Bad things are happening in America under Obama. If you are middle class, upper middle class or a business owner, your livelihood and quality of life are in danger. Your children’s future is in danger. The American Dream is on life support.

I’ll see you next week. Same time, same place. Right here at PersonalLiberty.com. God Bless.

If I thought I could penetrate the skull of a socialist like Doc, I would make a comment but that would be to no avail.

    • Right Brain Thinker

Hey, LGC—-just cruising down the thread while the first coat of paint in the kitchen dries and spotted this. You must be taking logic lessons from Frank Kahn if you think it makes sense to make a comment that tells us you’re not going to make a comment. Anyway, thanks for the heads up! I won’t have to waste any time watching for the comment you’re not going to make!

Flashy. I loved your “thumb nail” of Hamlet! It brought to mind that most famous speech by Hamlet of “TO BE OR NOT TO BE ?” Making him almost as confused as Romney on where he stood on the problems he faced.

    • Flashy

NC…i wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of the posters here are scratching their heads wondering who bill Shakespeare was. And I’d lay money that the vast majority of these TPers never read any of his writings… but as they tell it, we’re the idiots. Hmmmmm …

One of my favorite speeches of Shakespeare. King Henry V, Act 3, Scene I.

      “Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our English dead.
In peace there’s nothing so becomes a man
      As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
      Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
      Disguise fair nature with hard-favour’d rage;
      Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let pry through the portage of the head
Like the brass cannon; let the brow o’erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth a galled rock
O’erhang and jutty his confounded base,
Swill’d with the wild and wasteful ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on, you noblest English.
Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
Fathers that, like so many Alexanders,
Have in these parts from morn till even fought
And sheathed their swords for lack of argument:
Dishonour not your mothers; now attest
That those whom you call’d fathers did beget you.
Be copy now to men of grosser blood,
And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman,
Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
      That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game’s afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry ‘God for Harry, England, and Saint George!’ “

      • nc

Flashy. I remember the first time I ever heard these words! I was sitting in a sound booth In undergraduate school listening to a recording by Laurence Olivier of this speech! I also remember my thoughts! Man, how I wish Americans could speak English like this!

      • nc

Flashy. come to think of it, the Prologue to Henry the Fifth, “Oh, for a muse of fire.” is some purdy good writin’ too!

      • deerinwater

There will be few like him, ~ damn hard act to follow.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Yeah, I remember the first time I heard those wonderful words too. It was in boot camp—-they made us try to memorize it and anyone who couldn’t remember at least half a dozen lines was sent to OCS. They did change it a bit though—-the USMC version ended “Cry ‘God for Chesty Puller, the Corps, and Smedley D Butler!’ ”

And we had to go a bit beyond and also memorize some lines from Act 4, Scene 3 as well, again with a small USMC twist. I like these maybe even more.

        But we in it shall be remember’d;
        We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day
        OOH-Rah and Semper Fidelis!

I do think there’s some relevance to those who post on PLD in all of these quotes of bill.
Certainly that’s the case with the one from Macbeth that includes “….a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”. That one always makes me think of “certain folk” when I hear it, although that wasn’t bill’s meaning when he wrote it.

P.S. Got to thinking about St Crispin’s Day and googled it—-very interesting that the battles of Agincourt, Balaklava, and the Leyte Gulf were all fought on St. Crispin’s Day—-25 October. Lots of “band of brothers” stuff in all of those battles.

  • slapshotpuck

Flashy in the leftist raincoat. You are right on . It was not Obama’s fault for all of those historic failures. It was Bushes fault all along . keep on the leftist agenda rant please. When you fall off your Dems talking points of disinformation, you confuse your fellow travelers no end. Daniel has a great point.TARRP funds never trickled down to the working poor and the mantra of jobs that Obama promised never evolved at that level. Consider the super con and the huge cash eminating from the TAARP that could never reach the lower middle class rung grasp, It is clear that it was never meant to. Consider in a vacuum, that if every poor person recieved his fair share of those borrowed TAARp funds, then we would be in a booming economy driven by the bottom up tax creations that do not now exist. Dick Nixon asked the GAO how much it cost to issue a welfare check to the poor for $10,000 per year. The GAO answered $40,000 was the bureaucratic filter required to issue that check to the poor. Nixon asked, then why dont we issue $40,000 directly to the poor and they will no longer be poor? Go figure the falsehood being sold today on helping the very poor get be rich. Obama’s books and 2016 documentary using his own words dictates his personal agenda funded by George Soros and his chicago gang. Mitt romney, the moderate, was chosen by the same folks that choose most politicians from both party’s. It was his GOP turn in the proverbial political Barrel like moderate McCain.Consider that each campaign cost upwards of a billion dollars taken out of the productive economy to get exactly nowhere, is astounding. Poor people with no marketable skills do not hire workers. Most are not illiterate or dummies either. 42 million on food stamps and other support systems do not indicate an entrprenurial desire to gain wealth. Mitt did not sell “rich is better, let me show you how as a winning pitch”. Obama sells “you are a victim of those that produce. Let me show you why. It worked”. Wealthy is better for those wealthy?. Poor is OK for those that seek it? The Government will care for each choice? Case dismissed for lack of truthful evidence.

    • Flashy

let’s start with your comments on TARP. TARP I was Bush II/Cheney trying to save the ship when it hit the rocks in the maelstrom caused by their mismanagement of our economy and massive redistribution of wealth to the wealthy and screwing the real job creators…the Middle Class. TARP II was President Obama who placed conditions on that money…and which was never tapped to any great extent since it carried conditions. When he took office, President Obama faced an economy in a free fall and losing almost a million jobs a month. Within a year, the private sector was back adding jobs and the recalcitrant GOP and extremists were busy blocking any program designed to add more jobs and strengthen the economy

it’s all factual history Slappy. Your comments are out of fantasy land if you believe them. If you don’t, you’re lyin’ and we can only guess what cause you are a patriot to…because it sure as heck ain’t America…

        Obstructionist, Party of NO!

“Starve the Beast” ideologue of “no new taxes ever” pledge to lobbyist, Grover Norquist, even though tax rates (revenue) has been at historic lows (see marginal rates pre-1980) for 30 years now.

Hold the nation hostage during the debt ceiling debate.

Record 360 filibusters from the Republican Senate minority.

Mitch McConnell’s statement, “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

        Obama’s “stimulus” packages in 2009:
        http://padminiarhant.com/?p=2024

      • DaveH

What did we get for that $2 Trillion in additional National Debt that we and/or our progeny will be expected to pay in the future?
Total Non-Farm Employment when Obama took office — 133,561,000.
Total Non-Farm Employment in October 2012 (latest actual figures) — 133,705,000.
So we’ve gained 144,000 jobs in Obama’s 4 years, which have come at a cost of $2 Trillion in “stimulus”. That works out to $13.9 Million per job. What a bargain.

      • ranger09

I am still waiting to SEE these created jobs i here about, Most must have been at Mcdos or the Govt, Amazing i only here about laying off people or Companys cutting hours so they do not have to pay any benafits to the Employees they have. 42 million people on food stamps, dang i wonder why.

      • Flashy

Davey bioy…you’re use opf those numbers is getting old. Especially since time after time you’ve been shown how they are so skewed, and you know them to be, that you have to now be trying to dupe everyone with knowing lies.

When Pres. Obama took office, we were bleeding almost 1 million jobs A MONTH. Now, I know somehow you think (or want everyone to be fooled by your use of skewed numbers) that an ocean liner moving full speed in one direction can be reversed on a dime…but most people realize that inertia means it will take awhile to slow, stop, then turn the ship.

        Here’s your sign ….

      • Deerinwater

David is consistently completely unreasonable and out of touch with the physical world. ~ If he might have ever created a job in his life it was because his mother told him, he had better have the yard mowed when she returned or he’s grounded ! No books! No TV!

So he tells the little boy down the street that he won’t tell on him for peeking though Sally Riddle window early this summer if he mows his yard.

But really, ~ don’t expect David to be reasonable to reason or understand matters of time when he can burn through “War and Peace” in just three days and still have time to eat and sleep.

      • matforce

Dave, I’m as much of a tightwad as the next guy. But in view of what had culminated in the biggest economic collapse since the Great Depression, for which there’s plenty of blame to go around- from the “liberating” bank deregulation (Gramm, Leach, Bliley Act 1999) and all that went with that, to an ill-advised (however well-intended) extension of credit to the disenfranchised poor to encourage home-ownership and thus inspire engagement of the poor in the American Dream, that lead to an economic free-fall. I’m sure even the hardest liners would agree; something needed to be done to stave of total economic collapse. The $4.7 TRILLION bailout of the financial industry in response to fiduciary mal-feasance was preferrable to the alternative of doing nothing.

There are some bean counters out there that estimate tha totalt losses could have exceeded $20 Trillion when the ripple effect of forclosed homes, homes underwater, lost jobs and the revenue thereof, lost retail sales and all that goes with that (production, packaging, transportation, warehousing, etc.) a 35% property (real estate) devaluation, unemployment compensation, food stamps and other “entitlements” to help those who had the rug pulled out from under them (that you Republican pricks would deny them and or lump in with the welfare queens we all know exist that are taking advantage of the system), etc.

I realize our President and Congress will get no credit for stopping the economic free-fall from you or many posters on this site. Let’s face it, the smartest men in the room behaved very badly and their cheering section, the GOP has egg on their faces, and so do the Dems.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Just spotted this one—Imbecile at Birth asks, “Wow ho stupid can you people be?” I know he has said that he is not reading my comments anymore, so this can’t be one of “them there ad hominem thingies” that I’m saying to him. You know, like “If an insult is hurled at a fool but the fool is refusing to listen, can the fool be insulted?”

Since I am probably among the folks IAB is referring to (he is rather imprecise in both his logic and hurling of insults), I will answer his question and tell him “ho” stupid we CAN’T be—-if they were to take ALL of our brains and ALL of our hemorrhoids, we’d still NOT be as stupid as IAB. I base that on the rather large inventory of comments that he has built up for us to peruse—-any arguments with that?

You should take a look at recent history, Since the late 1960′S early 70′s, the republicans have been pro big business and anti middle class. Granted the democrats have gotten on the bandwagon of turning the middle class into serfs. Nixon started it by lowering business tax rates, and raiseing working people’s income tax rates. Reagan and Greenspan went on to start with the bailouts, lowering big business tax rates even more, raising the working mans income tax rates even more. Clinton and his NAFTA to send even more jobs overseas. Not to mention letting comercial banks act like investment banks. G.W.Bush lowering big business rates even more, and starting TWO wars, and for the first time in this nations history not raising taxes to pay for them, and of course Bush’s totally insane bailouts of the banking and mortgage industry. Talk about one sided WELFARE and socialism, when the banks win they keep the money, when they lose, they get bailed out by the government. They basically have the key to the treasury. Obama is no better, but this stupid crap has been going on for over FORTY years, and it is getting worse every year.

In this follow up interview with Piers Morgan vs. Larry Pratt, Piers is much more subdued. Obviously Piers was reprimanded by viewers or his handlers for his previous adolescent behavior:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuKClhpkQLo

      • DaveH

Piers in the above video challenges Larry Pratt to specify the number of “gun murders” in England and Wales. Yes, in a heavily gun-controlled environment, gun murders will be fewer. Killers will use weapons that they have available, whether they be knives, clubs, electrical ties, or whatever. That is the Liberal Progressives’ time honored trick of equivocation to talk about “gun murders” as opposed to just plain “murders”. For those viewers who are ignorant, that trick probably works well. I doubt seriously that most people have a weapon preference to be used in their murders — They just want to live.
        This is what really counts:
        http://www.kc3.com/news/britt_aussie_crime.htm

      • DaveH

Piers Morgan vs Alex Jones. Unfortunately Alex, although armed with much better information, loses his temper and makes Piers look better than he is:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWQPZ-taYBs

Notice how Piers keeps trying his typical irrelevant smoke-screen of asking about “gun murders” instead of all “murders”.

      • DaveH

For those who are interested in knowing the truth (something you won’t get from fanatics like Piers Morgan). Here is a table of murders and the weapons used from the FBI. Notice that relatively few of the murders were committed with rifles of any kind, let alone “assault rifles”:
        http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/table-20

Notice also that the number of murders committed by rifles (of any kind) is dwarfed by the number of murders committed with knives.

S.C. Like you post anything different? Leave it to a conservative to start the smart aleck remarks!

Karolyn, why are so unfailingly polite in your comments? In some cases it is appropriate to call a “spade a spade”, and it would be appropriate to call Smurfy what he displays with this latest post—-he’s not a “smart aleck”, he’s dumb and self-deluded to the point of being SICK. And he’s getting SICKER every day. Perhaps some folks noticed when I took him to task on another thread yesterday for being SICK? He is getting worse today.

up the hill airborne indeed! Where’s the “screaming eagle” crap today, Smurfy? Did my mention of a real Screaming Eagle (my uncle), and my chastising you for your lack of respect for those who served and died in Nam make you think a bit and decide to leave that off today? You’ll do a lot of screaming when you end up behind the locked doors.

      • Steve E

Karolyn, “Leave it to a conservative to start the smart aleck remarks!” It looks like an idiot making fun of a person because he is smart. You should be smart and make fun of idiots, not be an idiot and make fun of the smart people.

      • DaveH

It’s funny, Karolyn, that you quite often try to convince us that you’re open-minded, yet I’ve never seen you chastise a Liberal Progressive no matter how infantile their comments get. Why is that?

Dave -I just found it interesting how so early in the day, when the discourse was polite and informative, S.C. had to jump in with crude remarks. I guess he didn’t like the idea that it was mostly liberal-type people posting. Personally, I think many of you guys (and one woman I won’t mention) are like little kids in the schoolyard, and some are just over the top.

CAB – You are just too literate for words! :-)

Right Brain -I will not lower myself to that level. I do not believe in tit for tat, which occurs here constantly. The power of people to get to you is something that you give them. it’s not worth it.

Steve – If calling people names and being crude is smart, then I guess I am not and glad of it.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Karolyn says, “Right Brain -I will not lower myself to that level. I do not believe in tit for tat, which occurs here constantly”. But you’re a lady, Karolyn, and a pretty smart one, so that’s the way we would expect you to think. What you see taking place here is more of a “guy thing”—-you need some testosterone to get into it. Of course, that’s all some of the “guys” have, and not much brain power, so that’s what makes Crap at Birth and Smurfy such “loosers” in the game of “tit for tat”. Of course, they asked for it and try to dish it out, so I for one don’t feel too bad about giving it to them.

You are 100% correct when you say, “The power of people to get to you is something that you give them. it’s not worth it”. That’s why I never let any of them get to me, but instead I get to them. And one look at Crap’s “Go *$#@^ yourself” and can’t-find-the hill-to-go-up Smurf’s nonsense shows just that. They are starting to thrash around the way DaveH does when one of us “smart alecs” splashes the holy water of truth on them.

And Smurfy reveals something about himself when he says, “Now I’ve got to get back out on the floor and get my hands dirty, something you’ve never known”. Glad to hear you’re not a “moocher” and work for a living, Smurf. I worked my way through college by working in a machine shop—-took me five years—-got my hands so dirty that I often couldn’t get them very clean—-but it paid off. (And I got them pretty dirty as a school administrator too, especially when I had to deal with blood and puke—-just so you know).

If this be true then the fat cats, banks and corporations haven’t paying any attention to Hussein’s usual motives. After the country is destroyed, Obama will then simply put those who are greedy and have sided with the radical Kenyan Muslim. They in turn will have no one to protect them from Sharia law and complete takeover the head Mullah living in the White House.

Agreed – these are the same cast of characters that have been fully snowed in 2008 and 2012. Fortunately, 5 million less voters were snowed in 2012, whereas Romney actually scored about a million more votes than Mccain did in 2008. So the novelty is starting to wear off. Notice the change in attitude toward corporate financing of the inaugurations. Hopefully, we only have 4 more years of this joker-there is some speculation he will try to get rid of two term limitation. That would be an unmitigated disaster for America.

You flatter Obama by calling him a fascist; he is not a fascist, he is a Marxist. His education was a Marxist education, all his close associations and mentoring was by radical Marxists; his determination to bring business, manufacturing, and finance under the thumb of the government is straight out of the Marxist handbook. Marxists have always cozied up to big business until it is ready to drop the hammer on big business and either nationalize their company, or to impose some form of total government control over that company–by then it is too late for that corporation to defend itself, it is done, cooked, and one segment of the free market has been killed. Marxism cannot tolerate freedom of any kind, freedom kills Marxism, so a free market is not going to be tolerated, it will be neutralized bit by bit (Obama is doing it by large bit by bits). Obamacare was never about healthcare, it was always about socialism, a huge tax increase, and the removal of large amount of individual freedom from every American.

  • jrd3123

Doc, It’s not DNC or GOP. It’s the combining of Corporate America and Government. It has been getting worse the last 30-40 years…every year. I believe Mr. Root’s point is hidden in his enthusiasm for slamming Obama. His point is pertinent, Crony Capitalism is a path to Socialism. I am a Tea Party member. I want small business to be on a level playing field with large corporations where regulations are concerned. As Larry Arnn said: We require laws in order to be productive and to live safely. Laws are different than regulations in important ways. Laws are passed by elected (and thus accountable) representatives, they cover everybody equally, and we can all participate in their enforcement because they are easy to understand. Not one of those three things is true of the regulations imposed by independant boards such as those established under Obamacare or Dodd Frank. We need the Excecutive, Legislative and Judiciary branches of the government to focus on laws and not regulations.
Large Corporations donates to their represetative, the representative promotes a regulation written by a board that represents the corporation, the other legislators understand the prid pro quo concerning the representative and the corporation, they vote to pass each others regulations, which in turn benefits the corporation, the corporation gets a kickback, or a contract or a grant…for their donations. These kickbacks are our money. If we don’t pay attention, the government is going to regulate us right into Socialism. Why did the AARP back Obamacare? Coincidence? Why did the Super Banks back Dodd Frank? Coincidence again? I don’t believe it for a minute. I’m Taxed Enough Already!

    • Right Brain Thinker

jrd3123 makes some good points. Unfortunately he didn’t lift the TP blinders far enough to realize that what we are headed for is not socialism but corporate fascism-feudalism and an aristocracy of the plutocrats.. Wayne made some good points also but went way off-base when he too tried to tie what’s going on in the country with socialism. Open your eyes, jrd and Wayne—you ALMOST get it.

Guys, you really need to pay attention and read things before you get cranked up and respond.

Steve E, If you’re implying that I said the tea party is “fascist”, you are the one who is on the wrong planet.

freeisrael, If you are implying that anything much of what I have said here has to do with the job “Hussein” (O’Bama?) is doing, you are the one who is in a brain dead state.

You both need to take reading lessons, with emphasis on improving your comprehension.
Spelling lessons might be in order too—-if you’re going to try to insult the duly elected President of the U.S., with his election already confirmed by the electoral college, and who is about to be inaugurated (I got my invitation, did you?), you should at least spell “mulatto” correctly.

      • Steve E

RBT, you need to wake up on whatever plane you are on. You previous stated. “Unfortunately he didn’t lift the TP blinders far enough to realize that what we are headed for is not socialism but corporate fascism-feudalism and an aristocracy of the plutocrats”. You need to improve how you express yourself if you want people to understand what you write. Also, who made you the spelling police? Was it one of Obama’s executive orders?

      • jrd3123

Right Brain Thinker, I fight for the rights of the people, I don’t care which ism it is. Our consitution restricts government. The fair market place takes care of Corporations…(unless the government artificially props them up). We don’t need the government picking winners and losers. Italian Fascism or German National Socialism, either ism restricts the right of the people. When the people fear the government we have despotism, when the government fears the people we have liberty.

      • Right Brain Thinker

We don’t disagree all that much, jrd3123. I also found some truth in Wayne’s “sphagetti” before he “cooked it and tied it in knots”. My point was that there are all kinds of “isms” and they morph and blend over time and we need to keep our definitions and history straight. Yes, IF we had a FAIR market place, it MIGHT “take care” of the corporations.

Unfortunately, the greedy rich of the plutocracy have bought the government to the extent that it does in fact “prop them up”, and that, in the long run, is what will restrict the rights of the people by turning us into serfs. What we need is a government that is feared by the greedy rich and the corporations to the point that the free markets are restored and work in a way .that benefits all.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Steve E says, “You need to improve how you express yourself if you want people to understand what you write”, apparently referring to my comment that said,.

“Unfortunately he didn’t lift the TP blinders far enough to realize that what we are headed for is not socialism but corporate fascism-feudalism and an aristocracy of the plutocrats”.

Uh, Steve—-that statement is really quite clear (although I could have inserted a comma in one spot). Just what part of it don’t you understand? Perhaps you should read it again and again until you comprehend it? Or get someone to explain it to you? If you’re just not smart enough, I’m sorry to say that there’s not much to be done about that. Since my statement is written at about the 9th. or 10th. grade level, you should be able to “get it”—-you made it that far in school, didn’t you?

Also, as far as your question “who made you the spelling police?”. I am not by any means the spelling police, although I do sometimes play word games with some of the more egregious misspellings and grammar-syntax errors on PLD. In this case what I was really saying was:

“Anyone who insults the TWICE-elected President of the United States, Barry H. O’Bama, should at least spell his insult correctly”.

Makes the insulters look foolish if they don’t do that, don’t you agree? I try to help folks “look good” in what they say—-it’s the old “once a teacher, always a teacher” thing (and you need not thank me for trying to help you here).

      • Frank Kahn

When you made the following statement

“Anyone who insults the TWICE-elected President of the United States, Barry H. O’Bama, should at least spell his insult correctly”.

I am wondering why all the information I have seen on his name is spelled different?

The name is Barack H. Obama, since that is the official name given in his campaign, why do you intentionally misspell it in two places BARRY not BARACK and O’BAMA instead of OBAMA.

If you are going to chastise people for not spelling it correctly, should you not spell it right?

      • Right Brain Thinker

Frank, I’ve explained this several times on several threads—-please pay attention.

I have explained to the others that have asked this same question that new information came to light back when that pompous fool Donald Trump last brought up the tired old birth certificate thing. O’Bama is actually descended from one of a boatload of Kenyan sailors that were shipwrecked on the Irish coast in 1437. He is one of those “Black Irish” that folks are always talking about. In light of that fact, some have “Irishized” the spelling of his name to Barry H. O’Bama.

It seems to have taken hold, particularly among those who can’t seem to accept the fact that we have a black man as president, and that he has a “funny” and foreign sounding name like Barack Hussein Obama. They seem to be able to fantasize that he is more “one of them” when they look at the “Irishized” spelling. I think that’s a good thing for all, so I help to spread this new knowledge around.

      • Frank Kahn

I was not able to verify your assertions about the information regarding Obama’s ancestors. That, however does not address the purpose for my post on the misspelling of his last name. I don’t care if you think that making it sound Irish makes him more palatable.

  • ToughGuy1

Obama will find a way to give a executive order on this too. Obama is crazy he’s like a big pimp, and a bully, and a freaking punk. The school bully that wants to take your lunch money away from you!

    • Right Brain Thinker

      Hey, TG1

If O’Bama issues another executive order on this, will it be number 140? (the real number), or number 924? (the number the wing-nuts say he signed). Only a difference of 784 between the truth and the lies.

And you got it wrong in other ways also—-saying “freaking pimp, big bully, and a punk” (just plain punk) makes better sense. And why would he worry about stealing anyone’s nickle and dime lunch money when he has all those “job creators” he can steal really big bucks from by raising their taxes?

  • Flashy

I began taking the “key phrases” from Root’s rant, and gave up after the first few paragraphs. Whatever script he’s writing from, it’s straight from Alice in Wonderland. “It’s not our fault!” seems to be the underlying theme… he has gone off the deep end trying to link the effects of the War on the Middle Class initiated by Reagan and carried on to conclusion by Bush/Cheney and the extremists to this administration.

Seriously … Mr. Root, you definitely have that knack common to bookies to hype and tout someone into a bad wager…and if you really h0nestly believed one line of your BS you are in need of deep intense therapy.

You have an opportunity to sway, to inform, to put forth cogent, well thought out policies and opinion…instead you write trash unsuitable even for the bottom of a kitty litter box.

Oh yes, folks posting here will gush all over your inane rantings. because hate, fear, and ignorance is their stock. Take out your rantings of hate, anger, mistruths, ignoring history, twisted logic, and avoidance of responsibility….and your article has at most three sentences, including your first one.

Let me guess, it’s Obama’s fault that the Romans got their butts kicked at Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, and that we didn’t vote for free silver in the 1890s, and the tornado placing Dorothy in Oz was the super secret weather machine Obama had constructed. those are far more believable Mr. Root, than your rantings of the day. .

    • Right Brain Thinker

Dang, Flash! I didn’t know O’Bama was responsible for all that! But since it’s right there on the page in front of us, it MUST be true. (Of course, I didn’t really read or understand what you said, but it LOOKED like you said “bad things happened and it was O’Bama’s fault”, so that’s good enough for me).

      • Flashy

LOL RBT. In essence, I wrote that anyone who believes a word of Root’s article (including Root himself) is a few fries short of a Big Mac Deal.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Thanks for explaining that, Flash. I think I get you—maybe if you didn’t use fancy and confusing words like “essence”, it would be easier for some of us PLD-ers to understand. Isn’t “essence” some kind of “perfumey” thing? Are you saying something smells good here? Or something smells bad and we need air freshener? I get so confused sometimes.

PS While you’re explaining “essence”, could you help me with “Something’s rotten in Denmark”? I never did get how people could smell Denmark when it’s way over there.

PPS A thought just occurred to me. Were you really thinking “essenes” and made a typo? I didn’t know they were at the Teutoburg forest. Or is the Teutoburg forest in Denmark and is that the key? I get really REALLY confused sometimes.

      • Flashy

RBT….i understand your confusion. Which is different than being like Aunt Maggie ..who is well known in the family circle as being a tad bit ‘confused’ at times. In philosophy, essence is the attribute or set of attributes that make an entity or substance what it fundamentally is, and which it has by necessity, and without which it loses its identity.

        Clear?

As to “Something is rotten in Denmark”…I shared your confusion for many years. I lived in Copenhagen for three years (if there ever was a heaven for a bachelor, Copenhagen has to be it :) . the phrase often was perplexing given my experiences there.

The phrase comes from butchering Bill Shakespeare’s Hamlet (don’t ask me the Act and scene…i read his writings, but not that detailed of scrutiny). The quote is “Something is rotten in [the state of] Denmark.” and was uttered by …..Marcelus (?) about the death of the King, Hamlet’s father. I can only refer you to reading Hamlet to discern what the reference truly means.

The Battle of the Teutoburg Forest is where the Romans were completely wiped out by Germanic tribes and halted the expansion of the Roman empire into N. Europe. Again, memory fails when it occurred, but it was after Caesar by a few hundred years and when the Empire was at its height. no..it occured along the Rhine somewhere…and has nothing to do with Dorothy and the land of Oz (though i wonder…if OZ was a TPer, do you think he would have had “his way” with Dorothy as the price to return? Seeing as most of the American Taliban are TPers as well..and women must subjugate themselves before men. Hmmmmmm. )

BTW…I do not recollect if Oz, Shakespeare, or Hamlet have ever been called a socialist or commie by PLD posters … I do know Reagan has been called such. He was a “liberal” in disguise…didn’t you know?

        Everything clear now?

      • DaveH

Flashshill says — “and are a great supporter of an economic theory that has never been practiced or attempted and relies heavily on unproven and great leaps of faith assumptions”.
        Actually it has been practiced.
For the first 100 years of our country’s existence, the total Government expenditures were less than 3% of our GDP per annum. During that same time period the Dollar actually increased in buying power, and after 100 years it could buy twice as many goods and services as it did when the country began. And that was even with the burden imposed of an economy-stifling and deadly (more than 600,000 lives lost) War of Aggression against the South.
We grew from a group of colonies under Great Britain’s thumb to a country with the number 1 economy in the world.
In our last 100 years, total Government expenditures per annum have grown to 41% of GDP (13 times bigger than in 1880). Our dollar has lost over 95% of its buying power since 1913. We have had one 14-year Depression, numerous smaller recessions, and now this current economic mess.

Flashshill claims that Free Markets (Capitalism) has never been practiced, but we know for certain that Socialism has been practiced, and it has been an utter failure. Those who want to further investigate can go here and see how the Countries with the Least Socialism (top of the ranking) compare with the countries with the Most Socialism (bottom of the list). There’s not even a semblance of a contest:

Did I say anything about Austrian Economics, Flashman?
Austrian Economics didn’t manifest itself (although preceded by similar disciplines) until the late 19th Century and they fell on the deaf ears of Big Government Progressives who were too busy feathering their own nests to worry about the rest of the people.

What I am claiming is that Small Government is conducive to Good Economy, Flashshill.

Those people, who would like to understand what’s really going on, would do well to learn some Austrian Economics though. Flashshill and his handlers would rather you didn’t, because it will be a lot harder for them to fleece you if you are more educated in matters of economic reality.

DaveH says, “Thank you for posting, Flashman and RBT”

I’m sure Flash and the other “brained” folk on PLD will say “You’re very welcome, Dave” and join me in thanking YOU for “posting” also. It is such great fun knowing you and helping you shill for the libs-progs as you endeavor to make Libertarians-conservatives look like complete fools.

cawmun cents says, “But what do I know?” and answers his own question, “Apparently very little”. It’s good to see such a level of self-awareness beginning to bloom in one small corner of PLD. Maybe it will grow to the point that you will some day feel ashamed of some of the things you have posted? Cheers, indeed!

  • Kb

All true, but Obama is just the talking head. The folks behind the scenes have planned this for years!

  • daniel

You ever figure that both parties are guilty of the same thing on this one? When money is spread around to more people it makes them more independent and harder to control. Small business breed independence and are therefore more unruly when it comes to following any kind of grand design. It is much easier to control people when there is less obstacles in the way. Corporations can and do focus in on areas and policies that will make the most of the buck. Politicians focus on raising the most money from the fewest sources in order to save energy. The more corporations control by eliminating small business the easier it is for them and politicians to control the populace and establish their agendas. Look at what Mousellini did for Italy. Eliminate the competition and you control the agenda.
While republicans are castigated as the party of the rich I never once seen Obama racing to a fundraiser hosted by poor people.

    • ranger09

WE only have 1 party and thats the politicians Club, But stupid Americans cannot see beyond their TV.

      • Nadzieja Batki

That is the truest statement that is said. Consider that the bunch in DC live in the same areas, eat at the same restaurants, use the same hairdressers, shop at the same stores, go to the same gatherings, send thier kids and grandkids to the same schools, etc..They live in their own created world and the rest of America is not compatible with them

  • Right Brain Thinker

I was right about needing the Alka-Seltzer to deal with Wayne’s “cooking”. In just the short time it took me to write my previous comment, we have somehow brought guns into the conversation, somebody has called O’Bama a “bastard” (in spite of his having produced a 100% legit birth certificate that said he had two parents and they were married), and Doc Sarvis has brought up Jesus!

Lord love a duck, Doc, what’s wrong with you? Don’t you realize that you have opened the floodgates. Since Jesus was a flaming LIBERAL and was a champion of the poor and persecutor of the “capitalists”, you shouldn’t bring him up here.

Now we will REALLY need the “plop-plop, fizz-fizz” to settle the inflamed tummies of the mindless.

(and for any of you who are wondering about some of my allusions to commercials, ask your father or grandfather)

    • Flashy

Actually RBT, I was thinking along the lines of the mad scientist in the movie Metropolis.

      • Right Brain Thinker

        Yeah, that works too.

    • DaveH

Do you guys ever have anything more real to say than a bunch of banter that sounds like it comes from a gathering of 8th graders at the soda fountain?

      • Capiralist at Birth

Why do you give them any credit by reading their rants. It is a complete waste of time an energy to read and respond. Save your time and energy for more worthwhile causes.

      • deerinwater

Yea ! save your ammo and don’t fire until you see the white in their eyes.

      • Karolyn

Uh, Dave, pot calling the kettle black?

      • Right Brain Thinker

Actually, Dave, a “gathering of 8th graders at the soda fountain” would be far more likely to understand our “banter” than you. I’ve known some pretty smart 7th. and 8th. graders, and your comment here proves that they could run rings around you (in between sips on their sodas).

      • Frank Kahn

Ah, the arrogant arguing with the ignorant, you two decide who is what.

      • Right Brain Thinker

DAVE! Frank has just called you ignorant! Are you going to let him get away with that?

      • Frank Kahn

Thank you for admitting you are arrogant, but are you sure I was calling him ignorant?

      • Right Brain Thinker

Frank once again proves that he is running to keep up when he says, “Thank you for admitting you are arrogant, but are you sure I was calling him ignorant?”

Yeah Frank, quite sure—-YOU are the one that set up a rather narrow dichotomy for us and gave us a “choice”. Since DaveH is so slow at running down his list of canned responses and picking the dumbest, I beat him to the punch and made the choice.

I know that thing called “logic” is an alien concept for you, but in an “either-or” situation, once the “either” is decided, then the other must be “or”. And YOU are the one that made “ignorant” the “or” and therefore did IN FACT call DaveH ignorant once I took the “either” off the table.. Got that? No? Not surprised.. Ask GALT to explain it to you.

And I won’t deny that what you see in me could be interpreted as “arrogance” by folks like you. That doesn’t mean that I ever admitted that I am. Some might turn that back on you and say you’re just showing that you’re envious or jealous of my abilities when you call me that, but it’s not worth arguing over, so I’ll let it ride and wait for your next “gem”..

      • Frank Kahn

I did not miss the LOGIC of the either or part. I was merely pointing out that you chose one and not the other. If HE picks the same one then you are the or, LOGICAL?

Here is some inescapable logic for you. Since you said I called him the OR, that means that you are accepting the EITHER.

Dave makes remarks that can be classified as arrogant just as often as you do, so why would you assume that I was calling you arrogant?

And, once again I have the opportunity to display your childish name calling as opposed to reason and logic(?).

“I know that thing called “logic” is an alien concept for you, but in an “either-or” situation, once the “either” is decided, then the other must be “or”. And YOU are the one that made “ignorant” the “or” and therefore did IN FACT call DaveH ignorant once I took the “either” off the table.. Got that? No? Not surprised.. Ask GALT to explain it to you.”

Proof by bald assertion: I have not given any indication that logic is alien to me.
False logic proof by assumption: I actually showed my understanding of an either or situation when I said you were choosing ARROGANT when you said I called Dave IGNORANT.
Post hoc, ergo propter hoc: Since you chose ARROGANT I was calling Dave IGNORANT. Not true, you assumed I was calling you arrogant, so YOU called Dave IGNORANT.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc, Latin for “after this, therefore because of this”, is a logical fallacy (of the questionable cause variety) that states “Since that event followed this one, that event must have been caused by this one.”

In reality, I might have been calling both of you Arrogant and Ignorant.

And, please, ask the KING OF ARROGANCE AND IGNORANCE to explain something as simple as “either, or”?

        Next item

“And I won’t deny that what you see in me could be interpreted as “arrogance” by folks like you. That doesn’t mean that I ever admitted that I am. Some might turn that back on you and say you’re just showing that you’re envious or jealous of my abilities”

Ad hominem attack: implying that people like me are, in some way, wrong in how we perceive you.

        “Definition of ARROGANT
        1
: exaggerating or disposed to exaggerate one’s own worth or importance often by an overbearing manner
        2
: showing an offensive attitude of superiority : proceeding from or characterized by arrogance ”

You fit definition 1. as shown by the second quote in this post.
You fit definition 2. as shown in both quotes.

So, yes, we MIGHT, CORRECTLY, consider you to be ARROGANT.

      • Right Brain Thinker

I most certainly AM impressed by Frank’s logic lesson. He has done an excellent job of copying excerpts from the “Logic for Dummies” book, even though he didn’t pick all the best ones.

I AM wondering why he thinks it’s “logical” for him to waste all this time on this. It’s not, and I’m going to prove that I understand that by not wasting the time to “play” with him.

Would anyone care to predict what Frank’s response to that will be? Or DaveH’s?

  • rendarsmith

“Small business creates most of the jobs” – this is becoming more and more true with all the outsourcing that the big business are doing.

  • mark

Big Business doesn’t need Obama’s help. They are always out to screw America and working-class, lower middle class Americans.

    • DaveH

      Sure they do, mark.
Without the Force of Big Government involvement, how would they make us buy their products?
Without the Force of Big Government involvement, how would they stifle their smaller competitors?
Without the Force of Big Government involvement, how would they stay in business when the consumers look elsewhere to buy products and services? Like GM, for instance.

    • momo

Big business owns Obama, just like they owned Bush.

      • ranger09

Big Business has always controlled the Politicians. Politicians have one big concern, And thats how to make more money for themselves. And this they are very good at, Considering they are so lousy at doing anything else.

      • Deerinwater

Not always and never completely. This is something that the American people have permitted and allowed to happen and have only themselves to blame.

It’s okay, to say that you do not approve but to be sincere, this needs to be followed up with active engagement in the political process and your generous contributions.

All the money that was spent to elect Mitt Romney failed so there are somethings that money just can’t buy. The question before you is, how much value do you place on that?

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing WTS/JAY

deer: This is something that the American people have permitted and allowed to happen and have only themselves to blame.

Pray tell, deer, how did the American people allowed that to happen? The government never has and still does not, govern with the consent of the people. Are you trying to absolve the criminal-activity of the politicians by blaming the people? That is absurd!

  • Right Brain Thinker

Wayne never ceases to amaze me. Let’s employ a “cooking analogy” today to describe his latest words (that only a fool would bet on—sorry, Wayne—but I know you’d miss the obligatory reminder of the Romney prediction fail).

Wayne takes a fair amount of truth (in the form of uncooked spaghetti). He then cooks it to a VERY soft state and ties it into some rather convoluted but interesting knots. If he had tried to “rearrange” the truth this way using his UNcooked spaghetti, he would have ended up with a pile of fragments the size of BB’s, because “uncooked” truth just won’t bend like that..

Wayne then slathers the knotted up pile of cooked spaghetti (which DOES have some truth in there, remember) and slathers it with that patented PLD horsepucky sauce (filled with the “meat” of bias and self-delusion). Then he serves it up to us and says “Bet on this!”

Mmmm-Mmmm-Good! Mikey likes it! Say many. Others ask, Where’s the beef?
One sure thing—-go get Speedy Alka -Seltzer because he will be very busy today.

PS I love the crony-socialist vs. crony capitalist thing. It would take a HAMMER to get the “uncooked” truth broken down to a size where that “mix” could occur.

    • Tim L.

      BRAVO! Well said.

    • Right Brain Thinker

      mark and rendar get it!

And it is probably safe to say also that small business is paying more and more of the taxes since big business is “out HIDING” so much of its revenue overseas and avoiding paying taxes on it.

    • DaveH

RBT reveals that his brain is full of spaghetti. No wonder he needs to stick to Liberal Progressive manipulative methods.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Ha-Ha-HA-ha and HA!, Dave. Your wit is overwhelming! “brain is full of spaghetti” is just SO clever! And YOU have called ME “juvenile”? Lord love a duck!

But you’ve succeeded in one of yo9ur goals, Dave—-RBT has noticed you out of the corner of his eye—-make a mark on your tally sheet.

(But have you ever thought that every time you make a foolish remark and I respond, I make you look even more foolish, and that may not be too smart? But “smart” is something you obviously don’t understand very well, so maybe I shouldn’t have asked)
        LOL

  • http://www.facebook.com/thomas.robinson.948011 Thomas Robinson

This article is a self protective claim that just isn’t true. I am an attorney and self made entrepreneur. And if there were so many of us in America that opposed President Obama’s tax increases on small businesses then he wouldn’t have won a second term. However, everyone knows (common sense) that the more wealth distribution there is, the more balanced the economy and products and services sold. Therefore, don’t get the message twisted if President Obama were the scallywag you claim then Elizabeth Warren and other intellectuals would have never supported the Democratic ticket and would have run on the Independent ballot. Please don’t insult our intelligence we discern that President Obama is on the side of those who make this country great and strong through democratic and moderate means.

    • Doc Sarvis

      Well said.

    • Warrior

Well of course you agree with re-distribution, that’s the only way for lawyers to make moola!

      • Doc Sarvis

Redistribution of wealth to the top 1% has been going on for quite some time and has been accellerated since Bush took office. Seems like the working masses could use some of that money since they do the bulk of the work in this country.

    • Steve E

You agree with redistribution? And I though lawyers were smarter than that.

      • deerinwater

So are you and advocate of stagnation or stagflation? ~ nothing moving, nothing changing? If we could take the ability to transfer out of wealth, tell me what purpose then might wealth have? As I see it, wealths value would greatly suffer.

      • Steve E

No deer, I don;t believe in stealing for one person to give to another no matter what the results are. Wrong is wrong.

      • Deerinwater

Steve. no one has said anything above unlawful taking possession of property.

To distribute or redistributed does not imply thief or stealing.

As a small business man, I am constantly distributing and redistributing Gross profits in an unending effort to keep my Choo Choo on the train trail and everyone cooperating with me and my wishes.

If I spent 15 days failing to redistribute wealth my Choo choo would roll to a stop and then everyone would have to walk.

I will confess, to take the money and run might be tempting , ~ but that is what would constitute thief as I would be refusing to accept the fact that I owe someone and just because wealth is in my possessing and control does not make it truly mine.

    • DaveH

An attorney, a direct benefactor of Big Government, expects Freedom-Loving people to take his word for Obama’s benevolence? Please.
Thomas says — “However, everyone knows (common sense) that the more wealth distribution there is, the more balanced the economy and products and services sold”.
No Thomas, everyone doesn’t know that. That’s what you’d like everyone to believe. But if it were true, then there would be no North Korean or Cuban or Zimbabwean poverty.

Good morning Mr. Root, This is the best article that you have ever written. I especially like your characterizing Obama as a hybrid socialist/fascist, which is exactly what he is, and he has a savage determination to destroy this once great nation. John R. Howell

    • hedy

      John R ,
you are so rigth on , i come from a socialistic country , Obama as o i have a name for him , but i`m a lady to day , i`m so tired to hear his lies , sounds like hitler , hi starded out whit smoot talk , also the speache were never his one like ob hi has som one earls compose them , cant talk on his one whiout a monitor, o what a mess america is in , and then i read some of the opinions , by god the dont know what is comming to them , so many rats that follow him , so sad the cant think for them selfs

      • bfree

hedy, I think you have one of the most intelligent points on here. I have read and heard of numerous people from communist or socialist countries that reinforce your exact sentiments. I cant imagine why these boneheads cant see what obama is doing and where it will take us. Normally, if I am looking for directions, I like to ask someone who has been there. But I suppose if you are progressive you probablyalready know it all. How does that saying go,something like,” there is noone so blind as he who will not see”.. Any way, I think even they can get the point.(maybe)

  • Warrior

And in the gubmints insatiable quest for more loot, the latest gimmick by the “progressives” is the “private/public” partnership deal. Corporatists for sure. Everything is up for “lease”. and guess who will pay more for parking, driving, flying, living, dying, YOU.

    • nc

Warrior, when has anything decreased in cost since the Hoover Depression came to an end? Where in the world is ” parking, driving, flying , living” a better bargain than in this country. Every one has to die. Do you really expect to get it at 1813 or 1913 prices with a 3013 military to pay for and the wars we “must have” to justify it?? Did bush say something to the effect that to be a “great President” you had to be “a war time President?” Why else he would he have attacked Iraq? He admitted that they were not a threat? Did he want to wear that pilot’s suit his daddy gave him for Christmas. I have never seen a President look so silly!

      • DaveH

So now it’s the “Hoover” Depression, NC, even though it lasted for 10 more years under FDR?
Hoover, by the way, was a major marketplace interventionist who grew Government dramatically in his four years as President, only to be outshone by FDR’s even greater Government intervention.
But NC is stuck in the Democrat paradigm and can’t get his blinders off to see that both parties and their Progressive Leadership are responsible for our economic stagnation.
Those who would like to know more than NC (I know, that isn’t very hard) can read this:
        http://library.mises.org/books/Murray%20N%20Rothbard/Americas%20Great%20Depression.pdf

      • Capiralist at Birth

Dave H. Actually, Hoover was a Democrat before he became a Republican. Just like John McCain. Yes he was an interventionist, in the mold of Lincoln and Roosevelt before him. Not true Republicans in my mind. Only two true Republicans come to mind. Thomas Jefferson and Calvin Coolidge. Reagan is only close for consideration. Nixon, Ford, G.H.W., G. W. and maybe Eisenhower were also interventionist Democrat lite Republicans.

      • Flashy

CB…got any sources for Hoover ever being a Democrat? just curious..not being combative. He was a Cabinet Secretary under Coolidge, and to my knowledge never held an elected office until the presidency. Which he was unfortunate enough to be in place when Coolidge’s policies went south. Unlike President Obama, hoover had neither the knowledge nor the backbone to right the ship and we dove headlong into the Depression.

      • DaveH

It doesn’t matter if he was a Republican or a Democrat. What matters is his failed failed Big Government intervention in the economy. Government can not help but be a failure because the people have let it assume the Power of Force, therefore it has little to lose for its mistakes and little to gain for making the tough choices. And everything to gain by supporting the non-competitive actions of its Crony Capitalists (campaign funds, outright bribes). So the outcome of Big Government is always going to be mediocre at best for the vast majority of people.

  • Faye Shamblin

Any Business or Person that teams with Obama needs to be investigated and moved out of America Obama is destroying America and I want to see him suffer for his actions NOW He needs to be sent to prison and sentence to death he has killed 4 Americans and now I find this was his plot to make him look big he is the lowest down piece of trash and needs action NOW to remove this bastard from office

    • nc

Faye, if you think Obama should be put to death for the death of 4 Americans overseas, will you sign my petition to dig Reagan up and burn him for the death of 250+ Americans overseas while he was President? Fair in this case is more than fair!!

      • Right Brain Thinker

Uh, check your figures on that petition, nc, because they’re more than a bit LOW. There were 241 Marines killed in the Beirut barracks bombing in 1983 alone. That was the largest single day loss for the USMC ever, except for some days during the battle for Iwo Jima in 1945. They also killed 58 french paratroopers the same day and killed another 19 Americans and 50+ others in the Beirut embassy bombings.

And Reagan turned tail and RAN. His failure to properly respond to those attacks in Lebanon led Osama bin Laden to declare that the U.S. was a “paper tiger” and that the terrorists should not fear us. Saint Ronald was “sent down” and is already burning in hell for all of that, since it has led to the deaths of many tens of thousands of civilians and our military—Reagan started it and it adds up to WAY more than 250.. As I said, no need to dig him up and burn him again, he has been burning since the day he died.

And be gentle with Faye—-she obviously has no sense of perspective, as do many others who frequent PLD, but she is probably kind and loving to her pets.

      • DaveH

So you’re against military action overseas, RBT?

      • Capiralist at Birth

To nc and Right Brain, You are both ideologues. Why are you visiting this site? To use your inane logic on those who know you are plants. Waste of you time I no longer will waste my time reading your posts, and I ask the rest of you to ignore them as well.

      • Right Brain Thinker

DaveH, in his haste to nip at my heels like some deranged puppy, again proves that he does NOT even read comments (or certainly doesn’t understand them if he does).

He asks, “So you’re against military action overseas, RBT?”

Actually Dave, if you had read and/or comprehended what I said, you would realize that I am STILL quite angry over what Reagan failed to do in 1983, nearly 30 years ago, as are many other Marines and good Americans who remember his failure. I am angry because his only response to all the terror bombings was to have a few planes drop bombs and have the battleship New Jersey send a few 16 inch rounds into the mountains behind Beirut before he abruptly pulled us out, with the long range consequences I have outlined. I think we should have STAYED there and let the USMC take the kind of “military action overseas” that is our trademark, and in spades. The world might be a different place and 9/11 might not have happened if Reagan hadn’t shown the world through his inaction that we were a paper tiger.

Capiralist (sp?) at Birth says something imbecilic as well, just to make DaveH feel like he has a friend in the stupid people club. Fine, CAB, don’t read our stuff. You are not smart enough to understand what nc and I are saying most of the time anyway, and I’m sure nc will agree with me when I say we wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself by making you think too hard. As in maybe you would finally understand some of the truth we speak, and smack yourself too hard in the forehead when you did that, as you said to yourself,
        “I finally understand”?

YOU are an ideologue, CAB, because you just spout narrow ideological nonsense like a parrot. nc and I espouse certain ideological principles, and are flexible in applying them, unlike you. There’s a difference. Get someone to explain that to you (not DaveH).

I would ask YOU why are YOU visiting this site?—you don’t have anything important to say and have spent more energy insulting people than on anything else. You ask the rest of PLD to ignore us? Lord love a duck, CAB? You really are an imbecile.

Why is it okay for the USA to start a war of agression, but no other nation can? This country had Nothing to fear from Iraq, neither did Isreal for that matter. Iraq had nothing to do with September 11th. Saddam was no angel but he was our friend until Iraq invaded Kuwait, We said he commited war crimes, so why not Bush too?

  • Doc Sarvis

For a very long time, U.S. Administrations have given favors/loopholes to big business and the wealthy. I would say that is never more true than during the Bush 2 years when we were thrown into two wars (one a complete waste of American lives and money) Without raising taxes to pay for them. In fact, he lowered the tax rates accellerating the redistribution of most of our country’s wealth to 1-2% of our population. Ever since President Obama started his first term he has tried to reverse that trend to stop the squeeze on the middle class. Further more, I can think of VERY FEW modern Presidents of the U.S. who were not cozy with big corporations. That does NOT necessarily mean that they dislike or want to destroy small business. What a leap you are taking Mr. Root.
Is it not the new tax rule that ONLY income OVER $400,000 is taxed at a higher rate? For most middle class stiffs that is more than reasonalbe and that is largely why President Obama was elected to another term leading our country.

Didn’t the bailouts begin under the Bush administration? Goldman-Sacks had Bush in their back pocket since H. Paulson was Bush’s Fed. Chairman, they directed the reaction to the crisis in 2008. If big business was sooo in love with President Obama I am sure that AIG, who was saved by TARP, would NOT contemplate sueing the government for not giving them enough money at the same time they have a TV add campaign promoting “they’re back”
    .
The Fiscal Cliff scenario was all set up by Congress NOT the President. Mr. Root seems to want to blame Obama for my glass of milk spilling over this morning. He does illustrate well how big corporations do under our political system, something that has been in place for most of our history. This is far from news and not at all originating with President Obama. The rates, loopholes, contributions, and money movements shift around in every administration but it has always worked out very well for big business.
That, in this time of economic hardship for many, President Obama recognizes the need to give aid to the poor is obvious leadership. Helping out the poor is NOT socialism, it is humanitarianism; just ask Jesus.

Since you are calling me out… Ah, the old Hitler reference again. Hitler wanted to remove guns from the populations in territories he conquered, not in Germany.

“And the truth is that no gun law was passed in Germany in 1935. There was no need for one, since a gun registration program was already in effect in Germany; it was enacted in 1928, five years before Hitler’s ascendancy. But that law did not “outlaw” guns, it just restricted their possession to individuals who were considered law-abiding citizens, and who had a reason to own one. And there’s no reason to consider that law particularly significant, either; the NAZIs didn’t seize control of their own country with gunpowder. They used a much more potent weapon: propaganda.” Much like the NRA does.

      • Karolyn

And what is a “well regulated militia’?

      • Right Brain Thinker

Karolyn asks, “And what is a “well regulated militia’?”

Good question, Karolyn, and many PLD visitors would say “The 2nd. amendment must be looked at in its totality and the whole thing means anyone can own any number and any type of guns he chooses, and nobody has a right to question that under any circumstances, period”.

And they will get up on a high horse and carry on if someone like you asks about just those three little words, since they really seem to be the basis for the whole amendment and key to its meaning. My opinion is that the drafters were thinking of “Minutemen and Muskets”, and the need to protect against threats to the nation without a massive standing army. We fought the war of 1812 and the Indian Wars and the Mexican War and the Civil War (at first) with a high proportion of “militia” under arms, and I believe the “well regulated” meant that they would be organized and controlled at the state level and would not be expected to be walking around waving guns unless “called up”. I don’t think the intent was to provide for the “armies of one” that we see popping up with no control or organization, i.e., “regulation”. My two cents.

(and do remember that discussion on another thread about how the interpretation and application of the 2nd. changed after the Civil war)

      • sam1966

The well regulated militia in each state refers to men between the ages of 18 – 60, in good physical and mental condition, able to fight, and own a firearm. This means that if the U.S. is attacked from someone, the Americans that live in that state are to take their firearms, leave home, and help the army fight them. They are to be the augmentation force for the army. This is just so easy to understand. If you have any ,more questions Karolyn, just ask. I don’t mind answering them. Here is something dealing with this subject:

I say; It’s language Henry ~ it bends and shapes.

There are no absolutes. ~ There is ammo issues, production, shipping. importing, sales . At any point language can intervene. ~ We can legislate a 45 APC to have the knockdown power of a squirt gun and still honor the 2nd amendment

We could say with 99% certainty that the 2nd amendment will stand as written but it comes under attack daily from somewhere as do many other laws. it’s not hard to find someone attempting to introduce a bill. ~ To get a bill tabled and passed is completely different ball game.

So the best thing to do is be mindful of language and it’s intent.

It’s the public out cry for action will be the driving force that will frame the language. It’s elected official job to react to public outcry as well as defend our lawful rights.

Small businesses are our biggest employers> I wonder what was going through their minds during 2007 and 2008 as millions and millions were having to be laid off and Obama was not even the leading candidate at the time??

Over the years Democrats and businesses, big and small, have enjoyed a great relationship as evidenced by the numbers in the study at “Bulls, Bears, Donkeys and Elephants”. WALL STREET LOVES THE DEMOCRATS was a saying long before Obama became President! The numbers were always there to support that relationship it was just the “paid for’ Republican pundits who tried to paint a different picture! So what about small businesses you write about?

      • Deerinwater

nc, Mr Roots just throwing stuff out there hoping maybe something will stick. Obama is guilty of something beside just winning an election. His is attempting to lay blame for everything that in wrong on the Hill in Obam’s lap.

The entrenched power on the Hill uses people like Mr. Root to stay in business. What ever Administration that is in power has to contend with the same political climate which is artificially created by some 1200 lobby groups and all the free money they dispense on the Hill.

Compared to big business lobby groups, America’s middle class is poorly represented as both public and trade unions have been under constant attack since Ronnie Reagan scored a victory and defeated organized labor back in the mid 80′s. ~ With less clout and smaller voice the American Middle working class has suffered ever since. Any attempt to lay the economic tail spin of the American Middle class at the current administrations door is laughable as it fights these very forces that are determined to make America a two class nation, a nation comprised of have and the have not’s.

There is much good news to tell from all of this however, the American middle class is fighting back. They know today, from where the attack are coming from. It’s taken us years to understand all the forces being brought to bear against us, forces determined to silence our voice and sequester our spirit . We can not afford to set on our thumbs allows “others” to determine what is “fair” without the privileged of our voice. Middle Class American has awaken, they no longer sleep.

In the run up to 1998 general elections many campaign promised were made on both sides in an effort to appeal to votes. Both the McCain/ Palin and Obama /Biden made many. In regards to Lobbing interest, both presidential candidates voice a desire and strong interest on curbing special interest money and influence that floods the hill. The Maverick and Ms. Sassy were planning to clean house! She had taken on Big Oil before and they had allowed her the illusion of victory. It was hard not to admire her spunk while the truth only half told.

Obama’s stumping was a little more demure while promising serious address to lobbist activities and access to the white house.

” During the campaign, Obama said many times that lobbyists would not run his White House, and the campaign delighted in tweaking rival John McCain for the former lobbyists who worked on McCain’s campaign.”

“Obama’s ethics proposals specifically spelled out that former lobbyists would not be allowed to “work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years.” On his first full day in office, Obama signed an executive order to that effect. ”

“After examining the administration’s actions for the past two months, we have concluded that Obama has broken this promise. See Promise No. 240 for the full details.”

Okay, so now the Lobbyist no long enjoy designated parking and their own coffee pot in the white house kitchen.

Now if there is anyone out there that believes, McCain and Palin has more determination and more power to throw the money changers out of the Temple , I got a land investment I’d like to discuss with you and I wish you’d look me up.

The word “Entrenched” is an excellent word. ~ As to remove the cancer will greatly damage the host. ~ That is how entrenched special interest has became today.

So for now, ~ we are left to fight fire with fire and any “fix” with be long in the making.

If it’s a dollar for dollar investment ~ I think maybe I should have went into politics, ~ my plumber’s experience in removing backed up fowl waste might be helpful.

required for maximum performance of the “sole asset” would be an expense to the

Doc, you are correct. Mr Obama is Mr. Bush 2.0.

For example, Obama stopped the Keystone pipeline. Later, Warren Buffet suggests higher taxes are not a bad thing. Hmmn. Berkshire has majority ownership of BNSF. BNSF has recently been making lots of money shipping oil from the Bakken oil fields because there is no pipeline in that area to handle the volume of oil. That happens to be very close to where the Keystone pipeline would have run. The way I connect the dots, it looks like Chicago politics or crony capitalism.

You could possibly paint similar pictures with Solyndra, Tonopah Solar, Hollywood Inc, and other ventures.

What seems to have happened is that the term “Liberal Education” has taken on a whole new and sinister meaning. No matter, the Russians, the Chinese, the Vietnamese, Cambodians, North Koreans, Cubans, the old Eastern Bloc nations and every other committed socialistic set of national leaders all tried different versions of the same thing: try to change the way most humans, at least normal humanity must be in order to prosper and live happy and healthy : free. Self-determinative, personally responsible, family/community oriented, exist in a stable/tradition honoring system with its own honorable, compassionate (savage when accosted) authority system.
You can threaten ‘em, shoot ‘em, bomb ‘em, hang ‘em, starve ‘em, burn ‘em, imprison, torture, “re-educate”(chemical, godless religion or psychiatrist), subjugate and decerebrate ‘em. Doesn’t seem to change what works to produce a prosperous and happy community. There appears to be a template or a mold into which successful communities nestle themselves. Unless there is a heavy handed, top loaded bunch of control freaks running it people will return to, or fairly close to, the template. It allows necessary changes in the system when nature, environment, plagues, warfare and etc require changes to accommodate conditions.
Heavy handed, top down, control systems like Obama is aiming for (or will be progressively forced to adopt) never really work. Never have. Never will. They topple like the tower in Pisa.

If Obama wants to help the poor so bad why is he giving the money from the backs of the hardworking taxpayers that themselves are struggling to feed themselves and not giving his personal money to help others? His vacations alone could feed many and yet he didn’t contribute anything to feed and clothe the poor. Food stamp money is legally spent on cigarettes in many places. Others that work are struggling to buy food for their families. Where’s Obama’s justice?

        DaveH –
Remind Doc for me that the first chapter of Proverbs in the Bible – I think he knows where his ideas about helping the poor with what they NEED (NOT THEIR ENTIRE LIFE-STYLE) came from – indicates that one should avoid becoming part of a system that defrauds people, takes the spoils, puts it in a bag, draws from it to redistribute the funds for what the leader wants to give it for. It indicates that is very unwise. Doing what God deems unwise He will not participate with protecting us and if we do call He won’t pay any attention to our pleas.
It also tells us not to collaborate with or condone those who despise Him if we want His help in things of life. Not because He doesn’t want o help. But the people who want to run everything on earth always make it difficult to operate the principles to which He can respond.

Ahhh Doc…. you write so well. Exactly what I was thinking. I find it humorous that Obama seems to be the first President with any flaws. Everything you mentioned has been going on for some time. It seems to some that there was no corruption in washington until Obama came into office. As if he is the first politician to do any of the above mentioned things by Mr. Root.

since when has destroying the economy, destroying our defense and in general destroying our( by that I mean the few of us that still support it) country been defined as a flaw? If you and the rest of you progressives dont pull your heads out soon there wont be an America left worth saving.
you guys furnish the rope thats going hang us all, Everything this man does is political for government or for the democratic party, not for the working man.If guys like you dont wake up this country will consist of only the poor and government. Thats when everyone will really find out who the elite rich really are.

No one is perfect except God and Jesus mamamia. When Hitler formed the NAZI Party, he had a group called the Brown Shirts, a prelude to the SS. They would take orders from Hitler, or one of his cronies, and fullful their orders with very brutal results. Look at this article. Here and ATF agent holds a gun against the head of a little girl and Obama bin Laden supports his actions. Can we say that his SS or Gestopo are already on the scene in America? Neeeeed to be making that popping sound.

FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! 하나님하고 나라를 위해서!

You need both love of country and faith in God to be a patriot. This leaves you out.

“The duties of men are summarily comprised in the Ten Commandments, consisting of two tables; one comprehending the duties which we own to God, the other, the duties we owe to our fellow men.”

You obviously are ignorant of the facts. Obama’s minions went to Harry Reid with the sequestration idea. Has your head been in the sand all of your life. In regards to Bush’s tax cuts which really didn’t start until 2004. Are you aware of the increase in revenues? Are you aware of what the deficits were until the Democrats took control of Congress and the Senate in 2007. Are you aware that Bush inherited a recession caused by Clinton that started in May of 2000 and was exaccerbated by the World Trade Center attack on September 11th in 2001. How do you think the Revolutionary. Civil, World I and II,
Vietnam Wars were financed? What were the deficits created as a percentage of GDP during those wars compared to the first decade of this century? I guess you do not think we are at war with the Islamists. You can debate whether or not the military action taken was a wise idea, but I don’t believe the article was about that subject.

Helping out the poor with money stolen, under threat of unjust force, from someone else is NOT humanitarianism. No, the crony system did not start with Obama. It did however ramp up enourmously.

    • Ranchman

Oh, that’s’ right; it’s Bush’s fault that Obama’s a Marxist. How could I have been so blind? Thanks, “Doc” for squaring me away. What are you a doctor of, anyway? Social diseases like Marxism? If you’re unable to see the truth of this article, they need to take your license away.

Dr, Dr. how is that cool aid? When all the jobs and the rich move oversea’s and everyone is in soup lines maybe you’ll remember those on the finance committee made laws under the left wing congress that made bank make loans to those who couldn’t pay them back while Bush was fighting that, opps, makes your blame Bush nothing more then BS friend. Yes go after Big Business and the rich who pay the most tax even with their brakes and when they are gone, who you going to rob next. Don’t get ahead in life just depend on government to steal more and more until there is no one to rob anymore and maybe the marxist left will wake up when they are hungry. I don’t think so, I think they will take up guns and go after anyone who has anything left, that is the left way.

        Ben Fox,
It’s not the rich leaving this country, it’s the rich sending the jobs overseas, is what the problem is.

    • Bill

Blah, Blah, Blah, it is all Bush’s fault. How provacative
