BREMERTON, Wash., (UPI) – Police in Washington state said a woman seeking a stay in jail got her wish after she smacked an officer in the nose with a soda bottle.
Bremerton police said a 33-year-old woman holding a 22-ounce plastic bottle of soda approached an officer who had been called to a Kitsap Way convenience store around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, The Kitsap (Wash.) Sun reported Tuesday.
The woman, whose name was not released, asked the officer to take her to jail, but he said an alternative would need to be found because she had not committed any crime.
“What if I assault you?” the woman then allegedly asked, before swinging her drink and hitting the officer in the nose.
The officer, whose nose was reddened by the hit, said the woman then turned her back and presented her hands to be cuffed.
The woman was charged with felony assault of a police officer and jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
