Ron Paul Talks Secession, Rand Talks Presidency

Ron Paul Talks Secession, Rand Talks Presidency
UPI FILE
Representative Ron Paul (R-Texas) addressed secession in a letter to his constituents.

Representative Ron Paul (R- Texas) said in a letter to his constituents this week that “secession is a deeply American principle.”

Following an onslaught of petitions to the White House asking for a peaceable option for States to secede from the United States, Paul addressed constituents in his home State, which had the most signatures on its secession petition.

Paul writes on his Congressional website:

Is it treasonous to want to secede from the United States? Many think the question of secession was settled by our Civil War. On the contrary; the principles of self-governance and voluntary association are at the core of our founding…

Secession is a deeply American principle. This country was born through secession. Some felt it was treasonous to secede from England, but those “traitors” became our country’s greatest patriots.

There is nothing treasonous or unpatriotic about wanting a federal government that is more responsive to the people it represents. That is what our Revolutionary War was all about and today our own federal government is vastly overstepping its constitutional bounds with no signs of reform…

Meanwhile, the soon-retiring-Congressman’s son, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.), said in an interview with ABC News that he may have a real interest in running for President in 2016.

“I’m not going to deny that I’m interested,” the Republican said. “I am different than some in that I’m not going to deny that I’m interested. I’m not going to deny that I think we have to go a different direction because we’re not winning.”

The younger Paul believes that by focusing on giving local and State governments the room to tackle tough issues, the GOP could regain Federal power while promising truly smaller government.

“I think we have to go a different direction because we’re just not winning and we have to think about some different ideas,” Paul said. “States should be allowed to make a lot of these decisions. I want things to be decided more at a local basis, with more compassion. I think it would make us as Republicans different.”

The North had the Money, The People, And the Factories, They controlled most of the Slave trade, What they wanted to control was the Land and its Resources of the south. It also helped to continue Manifest Destiny. Had nothing to do with slavery, Just another excuse to go to war.

    • Motov

You mean the few fat cats had a disagreement,?? costing nearly 700,000 lives plus the damage,???… maybe we should do like wrestling,.. put the fat cats in a cage and let them duke it out? Let them take the bumps, instead of our sons and daughters

      • Jim C.

Motov: You’ve got the Marxist/leftist propaganda down pat. You should check out the employment opportunities with a leftist organization. They’d love your ideas.

      • http://yahoo Rocco

I think Motov ideas are very libertarian. I am tired of a bunch of rich, power hungry, old white men sending our poeple off to kill others just to fill their pocketbooks and egos.

  • ranger09

Great Idea for Texas, Become a Church, Form your on Country.

    • Charlie

They tried that at Waco,,,Dave and his church were burned to the ground ,,,the state god provided the death and cremation all in one spot……………..

  • ranger09

Man oh Man, I just Love Politicians, WHERE in the World do these People come from, OH thats right they belong to the CLUB, Just runs in the Family, But it sure beats working for a living, Wonder where this old poor boy can join the Club. Garbage in Garbage out. Religion is Fine, To bad People dont practice it. And yes The Churches and the Leaders have become Greedy and they lean to what Politician caters to them, Life is not the house you live in But how big and Fancy you make it. Churches and the leaders today only care about how rich they can become, Heck even one church has its on country. Sorry two Religions have their on Countries. And they do have Plenty to say about how the World is Run.

  • Norm

Somewhere around 700,000 died in the civil war. Much of the South was destroyed. All this to prove the point that state governments do not secede from the federal union. People come and go but secession is not an option to be pursued by the latest fad political in-crowd. With today’s modern military, the concept is totally not possible.

    • Motov

You forget the military’s vote did not count, due to a plane crash that destroyed their ballots

      • Norm

        Nonsense!

      • SHERRY

WITH THE PLANE CRASH WITH MILITARY VOTES LOST AN SANDY WE NEED TO REQUEST AN GET A NEW ELECTION NOW BEFORE THE 1ST OF THE YEAR ALOT OF PEOPLE DIDNT GET TO VOTE BEING HOMELESS HUNGREY HURT THESE PEOPLE WERE IN NO SHAPE TO THINK OF VOTING THEIR LIVES HAD BEEN DESTROYED SO AS A COUNTRY WE ALL NEED TO RAISE OUR VOICES FOR A NEW ELECTION

      • Daniel from TN

That plane crash WAS on the news. The lost of military absentee ballots was also a part of the story. However, I disagree with those who say taht was a aprt of the suppression of military votes. It was just an accident. A lucky accident for Liberals, but still an accident, until proven otherwise.

    • kyle

It is possible. It would depend on weither the US military stood with the people or with the socialist government. Civil wars happen all the time, even with modern military’s
      .
You wouldn’t even have to fight. Just shutdown the country. Mass civil disabedience would bring the government to its knees quickly. However, it will also make the government declare marshal law. Once this happens, the leaders we have in office would not give up their position of power.

Expect to see marshal law happen. Expect to see UN troops enforcing the corrupt government agenda. Expect to see some Americans side with them…maybe even some of your loved ones. I dont know if the American people have the courage to stand up for what is right anymore.

The government is counting on the American public to be more interested in who wins American Idol than standing up for their freedoms. It is time to man-up or shut up. Are you a lemming, sunshine patiot or a freedom fighter? If you are the latter then start organizing. Talk to your loved ones about it..talk to your friends and likeminded neighbors. There is strength in numbers.

. Don’t give up your guns and 2nd Amendment rights. Guns and guts are the only thing standing between you and slavery. Let the politicians know that you will not give up the tools of freedom, i.e. your weapons. Train on how to use them so you can be able to protect your loved ones and community. If you are a godly person, renew your commitment to God. Ask for his help, strength, and wisdom in this coming crisis. Pray for revival in this country and revival in your own walk. I don’t know all the answers but i know doing these things can only help.

  • Motov

Ever since the Democratic Party has formed they have stopped at nothing to get it their way, They created the KKK, and other hate groups to control their victims who oppose their agendas,..and tried many other schemes all throughout their history. They discovered how to get groups to fight amongst themselves, while passing bad legislation.
They have grown extremely deceitful, infiltrated their opposition, contaminated it with corruption, and taken control of what gets told, and what doesn’t. The beast feasts and spews forth unbelievable lies, and does what it pleases.
We need to kill this beast, it is the ultimate parasite,

  • Motov

    Why wait until 2016?
We have a non representative government that manipulated the polls to maintain power.
What makes you think they won’t do that again? We should all march to Washington DC and throw ‘em out now!!
They are in there illegally They continually break the laws, They have rigged the system so they cannot be held responsible, IT IS HIGH TIME to deflate these EGO maniacs!!
Get the entire military on our side will be an easy task, just tell them they are upholding their pledge by restoring the Constitution to Washington DC.Time to totally replace the whole thing! Get rid of most of the Government agencies, and the bureaucrats that occupy them.

Then we will recover, but until that happens our ship is sunk.
Time for action is NOW,..NOT 2016!!!!!!

  • Bob Landry

This President is followring the same footsteps as Adolf Hitler.

    • kyle

I hope that Americans have the courage to fight and not silently walk to the gas chambers.

    • http://yahoo Rocco

Wow, a hitler reference, how original. You are right, I see him rounding up all the jewish people, the blacks and the homosexuals. the streets are washed in blood. What can we ever do to stop this??? What, that isn’t happening? We can just vote for someone else in 4 years? what a load off my mind. Take care of yourself Bob. I bet you spell that backwards don’t you? And Kyle, please get back on you medication. It will help.

      • KRVANCE

        Rocco
You are too ignorant to see the writing on the wall or to reason with. You just keep watching your American Idol and eating your government cheese and i will prepare for the day that you are begging for food on the street and the government is bankrupt. If you are lucky i may give you some medication and a meal or two then. Isnt ignorance bliss. Love Kyle

      • http://yahoo Rocco

Sorry but I do not watch American Idol (but I do like Survivor), I have been working since I was 12 and have never received any government handout. And I do not beg. If the government goes bankrupt, I will be just fine. You seem to be the one that worried. And if you need help, I will be happy to do so, as those that are better off should help people that need a hand, that is the way the world should be, you know Christian chairity? Peace.

  • Daniel from TN

My November 22, 11:41 AM post should read “To whom are you refering…” Sorry about the TYPO.

  • Daniel from TN

Question for Rand Paul. To whom are you fefering when you say “WE are not winning?” Are you talking about the GOP or the people?

    • JeffH

I’ll take a shot here…The people and the Constitutional Republic formerly known as the USA.

The downfall of this country was first put in motion back when Rosevelt switched us from being a republic to a democracy and created the federal reserve. He was a traitor, a one world slimeball. We need to go back to what made this country great. God, guts and guns. Freedom is not free, and a secular government will not hand out freedom along with all the other freebies. Right now this generatiion will go down in history as being the esau generation, i.e, they will sell their birth-right of freedom for a free loaf of bread.

    • Jack

From the words of a great president “Either you will control your government, or government WILL control you” Ronald Reagan

    • http://aaron Aaron

I agree your comment; the best for you is to be separate; we say in french “sécession”.
I don’t agree with Marque when he says “the patriots 1861 were rebels; I think they were right because they didn’t want a federal governement.
More than one hundred years, you can see the results…..Elections dominated by minorities…..Even I’m not an american citizen, I’ve been desappointed….Jst a few words before closing my comment: ARE YOU SURE THAT THE ” president” is an american citizen??

      • Motov

I’m positive he is from Kenya.

  • Rosalie

SECEDE FROM THE UNITED STATES AS IT IS ..BACK TO THE REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED STATES….simple

  • mzha1942

Keithnewman: No you can’t at this point, with the corruption, fraud, evil around this administration, that’s why many states want to leave this government and try forming their own.

  • keithnewman

America: Love it or Leave it. Your party lost, get over it or leave. Can you find a better place to live even after 4 years of Obama? Didn’t think so.

    • Mikey

If Obama succeeds in his agenda, there will be many better places to live. I hope Texas does secede from the union, I’ll move there.

      • Jack

I too will be right behind you if and when they do secede from the Union!

    • Motov

“Our party? if you refer to the GOP, you are mistaken. The GOP is on the other side of the same coin the Democrats. Otherwise “Boner” would had started impeachment proceedings in January 2011. Instead his spineless actions tells me he is a RINO, and not a true conservative, but a liberal like Romney.
Ron Paul was the candidate that should have made the run. But the press, the establishment, and their minions did everything possible to make sure that didn’t happen.
They knew Ron Pauls constitutional message would destroy Obama’s communist agenda. So they used the most liberal candidate they had,

    • Leroy

Have you always been this blind and stupid or is this a recent affliction?

      • kyle

This wasnt an election bewteen partys, it was an election between socialism or freedom. Good and Evil. People didnt vote for Romney, they voted against obama and the direction he is taking this country. If you studied history you would see that socialism doesnt work. GREECE, GREECE, GREECE. Look at Greece and see the future of a socalist country. The powers that be are manipulating Americans like lemmings. Keeping us fighting amonst each other using the front of Democrat and Republican when there is no difference between the two right now. Romney was a scumbag also, Just less of a scumbag than obama. Its the good cop bad cop con…they are still both cops, so-to-speak. I am not sure on how to solve the problem. It may be that the only solution left is civil disobediance or civil war, or the best solution of all, Americans stop fighting each other and form a new Republic were individual rights are top priority and government plays a small role when it comes to running our lifes.

  • mzha1942

Renee: I agree with you, God has turned his back on us because he feels we have abanoned him. We have to rid ourselves of the falsehoods of evil. Being abortion, and not threaten the sanctity of family life and we have to open our minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom.

    • SHERRY

oh please dont think God has abanoned us He is with us always we just need to take the time to call upon Him an listen to what we need to do we need to quit fighting among ourselves an pull together an let our goverment know they work for us an we want our constitution back we want our rights under it back
if enough people stand together an fight for what is ours an the vote to renounce obama as president if thats whats best than stand together an do so
but fighting between ourselves isnt getting any thing done
get petitions get them signed turn in to senators goveners congress house of rep. push these issues with all your might make appt an take as many as you can an show up at the offices of your state rep.an demand to be heard an for them to carry your demands to a higher court BE HEARD!! WE WANT AMERICA BACK WE WANT TO STAND PROUD AGAIN!! Dont let those brave men an women who died an those living in all the wars become a waste they gave their all for us to be free now we must do our part an be heard
God bless America long may She stand tall free an proud
God bless all the people of the greaest nation ever the good ole USA
stand an fight for Her for She becomes what we stand by an let Her become!
Blessing to all who do are dont agree i pray our nation becomes great once again!

      • Frank Kahn

God is not a woman!! and you used both the male and female third person pronouns when mentioning God. And it is said that God will turn his back on a nation that allows itself to be deceived. Yes, he is always with us, he walks beside all who hold him in their hearts, but we have to take back out country and restore its moral underpinnings.

  • Mikey

Rand Paul will have my vote. Even though some think he has joined the Bilderburg elitists, his record speaks differently. He has been foremost in fighting the NDDA, he has been foremost in fighting sending taxpayer dollars to countries that hate and kill Americans. He has looked out for the average American better than any other candidate I’ve seen.

    • KYLE-VANCE@COMCAST.NET

Mikey i agreed with you and hope that we still have a country to vote in by 2016. If Rand runs i will vote for him.

    • JeffH

Mikey, I agree. Rand Paul is anything but a Bilderberg. I tried hard to understand why Rand Paul endorsed Romney and I have enough trust in him to believe his explanation given to Hannity.

As far as “endorsing” Romney, Paul explained it this way.
“Governor Romney and I actually have quite a few similarities.”
I met with him recently. I had about a 30 minute meeting with him…and we talked about a lot of issues.
      […]
We talked issues, frankly, that are very important to me, that are important to my dad, and to many of his followers. And many of these Gov. Romney has already taken a position on. One of the big issues for our supporters, for myself, and my dad is auditing the Fed. We think there needs to be more transparency to the Fed and more oversight by Congress. This is something Gov. Romney was supportive of throughout his campaign and also was supportive of in private to me.”

  • Alan Caldwell

Conservatives state that they want govt. to play a smaller role in “we the people” everyday lives. Then why do they want or even concern themselves with an individual right to an abortion. They want limited govt. then stay out Quit sending mixed messages

    • Howard C

Unborn people are still people and therefore should have the right to not be murdered.

    • duaner

      i totally agree.

    • George E

      Alan,

The answer to your question about abortion rights is pretty simple to me. If you accept that unborn children are actually people, and we don’t allow one person to kill another person, then abortion is just another form of killing which we shouldn’t allow. I’m personally OK with this interpretation especially when the child is at least 20 weeks from conception because many premature babies survive on their own after that time. Prior to that time, I accept that it is debatable, but I still would rather it was not allowed except under certain extreme situations.

      • Motov

Kinda like presumed innocent until proven guilty, and like all rights they also carry responsibility. Freedom of speech doesn’t give people a license to slander others
just like our other rights are not for abuse.

  • Bryan

BLAME BLAME BLAME…..that is all everyone ever writes on these blogs.

You are so right. I’ve told people many time—the day I stop listening and learning (and I’m 77), will be the day I’m no longer on this earth.

  • cbond01

America has a choice, Government by the PEOPLE or Government by the Socialist Liberal Democrats.

  • Dr Gemini

All you folks still don’t get it, this is still a two party system like it or not and so no third party can ever be as strong as the Dems so throw your vote away for some jerk water idealist who has no chance of winning and we get stuck with the Dems forever. That really is a great solution to get back to constitutional principles

    • Howard C

A third party candidate doesn’t have a chance because of all the MORONS that think that you have to vote for a demacrook or republiar… such as yourself.

      • http://wilkes71.wordpress.com paul0247

Also Democrats and Republicans don’t believe it when you tell them that George Soros ownes both parties.

    • NativeBlood

In a nutshell, the corporate owned media will obey their owners and demonize any third party offering and your attitudes reflect this. It is not your fault that you do not think a third party will win or not, it is the favorable exposure that they are denied and you can’t compete with that.

  • G Smith

We will again be presented two candidates both of which will carry the stamp of approval from Goldman Sachs, along with a cast of supporting characters who are there to make the debates a source of entertainment for the networks to air. I’m a cynic and lucky that I am self employed and don’t have to work for any corporation, I live within my means, and any extra I manage to earn I put into savings .. and I don’t mean some bank. I buy silver bullion and will until the economy collapses and believe me it will.

I wonder if Upstate New York feels the same way about NYC?

  • Harold Olsen

I voted for the Constitution party ticket this time around. I can’t say who I will vote for in 2016. I won’t vote for Rand Paul if he is the candidate for the GOP. I think he’s a two-bit phoney. Whether or not I vote for the Republican candidate or not depends on if he fits my criteria as a true conservative. He has to believe in small government; believe in family values; have Judeo-Christian values, which mean opposing same sex marriage and abortion and is willing to do something about the illegals in this country. And, his record must show a history of these things. However, it’ highly unlikely that a true conservative would get the support of the GOP. They’ll do like they done the last twenty-five years and anoint some left leaning moderate whom no one really likes and who will end up getting clobbered by whomever the Democrats run. Under no circumstances will I vote for the Democrat candidate, no matter who it is.

    • eddie47d

The problem with your thinking Harold is that Conservatives think they are the only ones with Family Values. Which is not true! Generally they are more disciplined yet they can also be tyrannical in telling others in how to live their lives. That is something that Conservatives like to accuse Liberals of doing when it is quite often the opposite. You are a case in point where you want to live your life by placing yourself on a pedestal. Then anyone who doesn’t abide by your puritanical standards is of a lesser God.

    • GRusling

What makes you think “marriage” (same-sex or otherwise) is within the province of “government” to start with? As I read my State and the federal constitution, I see no authority ANYWHERE granted to government at any level, to decide who may marry who or what other kind of living arrangements two people or a group of people may decide on. Unless “The People” have granted such authority to government, it has been retained by those same people, so any “law” to the contrary is an illegal (unconstitutional) law, and that’s the problem with America today. Our elected officials have decided (for themselves) that they can make any and every kind of “law” that comes to mind, and when they can’t get a bunch of politicians to do what they want, they simply find some “JUDGE” who agrees with them, then call that court decision a “law!” Sorry, but my copy of the constitution says “Only Congress” can make a law, so what some “JUDGE” says is of no importance to me, unless I happen to be a party to the specific case he’s ruling on.

The sort of thinking you follow is the CAUSE of today’s problems, and can never produce a solution to them. We need to take control of the Republican party (the democrats are a lost cause) and put all the “Progressives” in both parties out to pasture. Only then can we start to move our country back toward reason and prosperity. Individual Liberty is the touchstone we have to return to, or conditions will simply keep in getting worse. We need to REPEAL laws, not write more, in order to overcome the “top-down” control our government is now exerting by force and coercion. Once the “Welfare State” (including SS, Medicare and Medicaid) is eliminated we can start to move back toward prosperity, and not before…

      • Drifter

You’re entirely right. Any powers and responsibilities not enumerated in the Constitution for the federal government belong to the states and to the people.

    • Motov

If you believe in our fundamental right to pursue happiness through liberty, then walk the talk and allow same gender unions, As long as they are not harming anyone else. Who appointed you as God? It is a very dangerous thing to split hairs when one thing is not allowed, but other things are, One example is in Northern Ireland where you see 2 “Christian” religions killing each other because of church doctrines. This land was intended for religious freedom, and the liberty to practice it, let God sort them out.
      And please walk the talk.

  • CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON

IN 2016, I WILL VOTE FOR THE LIBERTARIAN CANDIDATE.

IN 2016, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY WILL STILL BELIEVE RELIGION HAS A ROLE IN GOVERNMENT. TWENTY-FIRST-CENTURY AMERICANS UNDER FORTY, DISAGREE.

CHURCHES ARE NOT FULL ON SUNDAY MORNINGS. CHURCHES ARE NOT FULL AT TUESDAY-/WEDNESDAY-NIGHT Bible Class. IN FACT, CHURCHES HAVE BECOME A FASHION SHOWPLACE FOR FEMALE CONGREGATES TO DISPLAY THEIR NEW HATS AND OTHER FANCY CLOTHING. IT HAS BECOME SO EASY FOR CLERGY TO HAVE SEXUAL LIAISONS WITH FEMALE MEMBERS OF THEIR FLOCKS BECAUSE FATHERS AND HUSBANDS NO LONGER WANT TO DEAL WITH THE OVERWHELMING HYPOCRISY WHICH GOES ON IN THE CHURCH. I GUARANTEE, IF A NATIONWIDE SURVEY OF CHURCHES WOULD BE TAKEN, IT WOULD INDICATE THE AVERAGE CHURCH HAS MORE THAN A SEVENTY-PERCENT FEMALE POPULATION. The Bible HAS STRICT GUIDELINES IN REFERENCE TO THE ROLE OF FEMALES. TELEVISION EVANGELISTS LIKE, Pat Robertson, DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT LARGE-FEMALE MEMBERSHIP HAS ON THE “PURITY” OF CHURCH DOCTRINE.

SO, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY WILL HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME TRYING TO TRANSMIT A RELIGIOUSLY-CONSERVATIVE MESSAGE. THESE DAYS, MANY PEOPLE VIEW THE CHURCH AS A HATE GROUP.

THIRD PARTIES ARE NOT FOR “WACKOS;” THEY ARE FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR OWN MINDS. VOTE YOUR VALUES IN 2016. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A “WASTED VOTE.”

    • Seeker1212

You have obviously missed that article on the dangers of wasted and sick brain, because the garbage of your post is an indication you are suffering from that illness.

      • Rene Stover

You have obviously not been to church lately, or your church is very different from most, but either way, the churches have cowed to the Federal Government in order to remain a tax exempt organization, instead of doing what the churches once did, and that is become politically active, and fight for right. The churches have allowed themselves to be neutered morally and politically. America would probably never have gained their independence from England had it not been for the Church Pastors who organized the Black Regiment. The Church has largely become a Social Gathering, with the thought that build it and they will come, meaning build a big fancy building and the money will come in. It has now become a sad fact, that because the church has not fought for the US Constitution, and have not taught their congregations anything about what the Constitution is, the congregation are loosing their jobs and homes, and many churches no longer have the income to pay for these big building they have built. Romans Chapter 13 is their excuse, but Romans Chapter 13 has been misconstrued, it does not say to give Caesar presidence over God, which is what the churches are doing by not fighting these unconstitutional laws the government has manufactured over the last 236 years. Christians claim that everything belongs to God, and that we are to be caretakers of God’s Property, and then turn around and give God’s Property over to Caesar without a fight. If everything is God’s Property, and we are to give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and unto God what is God’s, where does that leave Caesar? There is supposed to be no Caesar if one calls government Caesar, because the people and the states who represent the people, created Caesar (government), then there is no such thing as a Sovereign Government, because the people have the right to do away with the government, and this means that the government is supposed to answer to the people, not the other way around. The Bible has proclaimed that God is a jealous God, and yet the church who says they understand this is worshiping the government by allowing the government to control the church, which supposedly belongs to God. I continually hear from the pastors and others in and out of the congregation that God is allowing America to fall because it has turned it’s back on God. Is there any wonder when the Bible says to “pick up the sword, if you have no sword, sell your cloak and buy one”, and the church does not seem to understand this, that God see us as turning our backs on him?

      • CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON

        “Rene Stover,”

        THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

TODAY AND 25 DECEMBER ARE THE O-N-L-Y TWO DAYS OF THE YEAR IN WHICH MANY CHURCHES HAVE COMMUNITY OUTREACH – FOOD BASKETS, CLOTHING FOR THE “NEEDY,” ETC.

“Rene,” YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT. TODAY’S CHURCHES ARE OBSESSED WITH CONSTRUCTING NEW BUILDINGS CONTAINING FELLOWSHIP HALLS (WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART KITCHENS), A LUXURIOUS “PASTOR’S STUDY” AND MULTIPLE [BUT, UNNEEDED] CLASSROOMS FOR SO-CALLED, Bible Study.

THE CHURCH IS SUPPOSED TO BE A S-A-N-C-T-U-A-R-Y!

WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY, WHEN YOU NEED SHELTER, WHEN YOU NEED CLOTHING, WHEN YOU NEED R-E-F-U-G-E – THE CHURCH’S DOORS SHOULD
A-L-W-A-Y-S BE OPEN AS A “HAVEN” OF PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING.

BUT, NO – THE PASTOR NEEDS A NEW Lexus. THE PASTOR HAS TO BE AWARDED $5,000 [AND, UP] FOR “Pastor’s and Wife’s Anniversary” – A “GIFT” ON TOP OF THE $1,000 [AND, UP] HE ALREADY RECEIVES EVERY SUNDAY. [Of course, Internal Revenue Service knows nothing of this money]. “BIG-TIME” MUSICIANS [GUITARISTS, ORGANISTS, PERCUSSIONISTS AND PIANISTS] HAVE TO PAID $300 [AND, UP; PER MUSICIAN] EVERY SUNDAY [Yet, none of these musicians have a Bachelor/Master of Music in Sacred Music]. OH, AND LET US NOT FORGET ABOUT ALL OF THOSE “AUXILLARY DAYS” IN WHICH CONGREGATES ARE ASKED TO PAY $100 PER PERSON ["Men's Day," "Women's Day," "Youth Day," ETC.].

YET, WHEN YOU CALL THE CHURCH, “CORRUPT,” THE “HOLY” CALL YOU A, “Hell-Cat!”

Many of the Churches that you personally know perhaps Criss. But that says more about you Sir, then it does churches and church work.

I understand the nature of the point that you are attempting to make Criss.. But you are bringing forward the great divide between black men and black women and not the general population.

YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. I SEE I STILL CAN NOT MAKE A COMMENT WITHOUT YOU FOLLOWING ME. I WILL SAY WHAT I WANT TO SAY. IF WE HAVE TO ARGUE EVERYTIME SO BE IT. I CAN PLAY THE “Satan” CARD, TOO.

You must go to a very unusual church, at least, unusual for most of the country. I don’t think I know one, single female who wears a “hat” to church, anymore.

What you’ve apparently missed in your (probably short) lifespan is that the current reaction of conservatives in America is to a boat-load of liberal legislation AGAINST religious organizations, and that’s exactly what it is. REACTION! It’s been a long time coming, but now it has arrived so the LEFT (like so much of their dishonest, misdirected rhetoric) are acting all stunned and hurt because the people they’ve tried to run over for 60 years are now standing up and fighting back! It took a lot, but we’ve had enough, and that’s precisely where all the talk of secession and nullification is coming from.

People under forty? Are you talking about CHILDREN who haven’t lived long enough or had to face life in the raw, so they really don’t know what they’re talking about? There really aren’t any atheists in a foxhole, you know, and I’ve been there so I know what I’m talking about. There’s nothing like a few ricochets past your ears and the guy beside you suddenly having his head explode in a pink cloud to make people get right with GOD!

Think about what your saying. Do you REALLY think the young and inexperienced CHILDREN in America can do a better job of running our country? That mindset is what got us in the mess we’re in right now. Our younger generation demanding instant gratification, demanding million-dollar homes and a new sports car every year, with foolish politicians making LAWS to grant them their desires, in return for their vote!

It appears to me that approach hasn’t worked very well, so far, so I suggest you rethink your position and start using the brain God gave you, for something more than a counter-balance to your shuffling feet…

        “GRusling,”

IN THE NEGRO CHURCH, FEMALES WEAR HATS. ["The Lord" told them to not come in "his house" with their heads uncovered].

“GRusling,” ACCORDING TO POST-ELECTION MEDIA, VOTERS BETWEEN 18-30 REPRESENTED ABOUT 25% OF THE VOTING PUBLIC. THE MAJORITY OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE NO INTEREST IN THE CHURCH.

      • Drifter

Obviously you havent been to to any Catholic or Orthodox services recently…

      • Marathon Man

Christopher…. Apparently the 25% of the electorate that has no interest in church also have a limited interest in politics and history.

      • Charlie

        GRusling,,,
Does your Church teach Acts 2:38 as salvation???

    • KYLE-VANCE@COMCAST.NET

You are speaking for yourself. I know a lot of people under 40 that love God and realize that he is the only reason this country was so blessed all these years. And by the way, half of the Americans that voted did not vote for obama. It is because we love this country that we greve for obama being elected again. Because we understand that he is destoying this country and you will to when you have to wait 6 months to see a doctor and when you do some politician will decide what treatment you can have. And as far as this being the best place in the world to live….what is the difference between this country and other socialist countries? It seems you liberals wanted to be just like the rest of the world and know you are going to get your wish. Look at Greese…it is your future. It is too bad you are too ignorant or blind to see the truth.

    • Drifter

There may be some viable third parties in 2016 but I doubt that the switches will be caused in a major way by religious convictions or lack thereof. Freedom to practice your religion in your own way is part of the Constitution as is the tenth amendment…

Its pretty evident you haven’t been in church in awhile, you know so little about Christians and to say Pat Robertsons obinion represents us is way beyond beleive. Come to FT Lauderdale and see the males attending services Sun. and Wed you will surely change your mind. Even you will be welcome and loved..God Bless. Grandma 82 yrs .

        “Ellen Thompson Bosworth,”

        MA’AM, I UNDERSTAND YOUR COMMENTS.

I WAS RAISED IN A MISSIONARY-BAPTIST CHURCH IN RURAL MISSISSIPPI. IN MY ENVIRONMENT, MALE MEMBERSHIP IN CHURCHES IS EXTREMELY LOW.

    • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

We do need a strong third party. But I don’t believe that will happen in my life time. The problem in this country is, people vote for a party not the values of a person.

      • Dennis Phelps

The problem is how the electoral college is set up in each state with the Jerry pandering that goes on. (pandering miss used intentionally)
A whole state should not swing one way or the other because more districts went one way or the other.
If a state has 10 votes and 6 go one way, and 4 the other, they should not ALL go the way of the 6
THEY SHOULD GO 6 ONE WAY AND 4 THE OTHER THEN TRUE REPRESENTATION IS ACCOMPLISHED!

      • oh oh

And with the electoral college gone, another step in the intrepid march to democratize our republic out of existence will have been accomplished by those who, for the most part, are no more aware of what they’re sacrificing as those who supported previous mistakes like the 17th Amendment. The Founders tried to warn us about the seductive and unsustainable trappings of democracy, that romantic demon. Notwithstanding the even greater assaults against the Republic in 1871, anyone who argues for states rights today without understanding our current stage in the incremental democratization of the Republic and the destruction of checks and balances in the process, will never understand how to reverse the trend, let alone reclaim the integrity of the Republic.

      @CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON
I don’t know what your rant is about churches. Most churches are made up of people who have a common goal: to worship God. If the church ministry diverts from that goal its the congregants duty to exercise church discipline according to Matt 18 or the church becomes nothing more than a tyrannical institution.

Similarly, the founding of this country was based on the Judeo-Christian principles (not the religion, which requires its followers to believe IN the doctrine) but all people can derive benefit from the virtues of the Judeo-Christian principles.

The U.S. is in trouble because most of the people are expecting to receive gifts from the government, which it has to confiscate from others. The last election has put that mentality on the law-books, which is a horrifying thought for people who refuse to receive something for nothing and rather work for what they desire in life.,

I am first and foremost for repairing the Union but if that fails, secession is far more appealing than civil war because the right minded people in this country are still by far the majority and they will not let those liberties slide away through ignorance. I often wonder how much blood and misery it will cost to repair the existing government’s policies.

So, CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON, if your church is bent out of shape as you describe, it’s your fault, too, for not fixing it, which is your and your fellow worshippers’ duty. You reflect exactly the apathy and “blame the authority” for the direction the country is going in. It is our duty to fix this, not the government, nor congress. It’s your duty to fix your church, not the pastor(s), elders, priests, et al.

      • oh oh

The Founders based their beliefs on more traditional Christian principles and doctrines. Judeo-Christianity and the principles it fosters are relatively recent developments, many of which would be entirely foreign to the beliefs of the Founders and the Black Robe Regiment. Most Judeo-Christians don’t even realize that many of their core doctrines are modern concepts hatched from the imaginations of Charles Nelson Darby, Cyrus Scofield, E. W. Bullinger and others and their progeny, the Moody Bible Institute and the Dallas Theological Seminary, whose progressive ideas, blended with the politics and influences of benefactors such as Theodore Herzl and Samuel Untemyer, adulterated Christianity forever. Judeo-Christianity works only for those who don’t understand the history of Israel, Judea, Judah, Jews, Esau, Edom and other distinctions rendered functionally irrelevant to most Judeo-Christians due to the indoctrination of these very sources, all of whom twisted the words of Christ, the Apostles and the Prophets to support their universalist, dispensationalist, anti-nomian and other heretical doctrines. For those who do understand, the term “Judeo-Christian” is an obvious oxymoron that will remain a mystery to all but a remnant of the Saints until their eventual awakening as foretold in prophesy.

      • http://americanuniverse.wordpress.com americanuniverse

Yes, the founders based their beliefs on traditional Christian Principles. Variations on more contemporary doctrine is irrelevant. This is not the forum to debate Christianity, but I believe that most Christians would be without doubt that Judeo-Christian principles are clearly bound in Christ’s revelation of who He is: “…everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

There can be no separation between the New and Old Testament if we were to be honest Christians. The pilgrims on their way to Plymouth Rock thought of themselves as under the same guidance as the Israelites trekking to the promised land.

So, if you want to debate Christianity, be my guest, because there are many issues that you cite that are nothing more than speculation and innuendo, for which you have no credible evidence, but this forum is about secession and the urge for the states to leave the Union. It is not surprising and understandable that they want to return to those principles that were the cause of the unheard of liberty and prosperity of the U.S. Of late, the country has veered way off course from those principles.

Those principles were the Judeo-Christian principles as we find them in the Bible. They are the same principles which the Founding Fathers sought to follow. It is not a requirement that you believe in them, just that you acknowledge that they are written in the Bible and that they form the formula for the success and virtue of this nation.

        “americanuniverse,”

THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY TO YOU IS, IF YOU ARE A FAN OF Beale Street AND/OR Graceland AND PLAN TO TAKE A TRIP TO MEMPHIS, YOU WILL SEE A CHURCH ON ALMOST EVERY CORNER. IF YOU LOOK AT THOSE CHURCH BUILDINGS, THEY ARE AMONG THE FANCIEST BUILDINGS IN THE CITY.

I KNOW – PERSONALLY – SEVERAL PREACHERS IN MEMPHIS AND NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI WHO ARE ENGAGED IN EXTRAMARITAL RELATIONSHIPS. THESE RELATIONSHIPS HAVE DESTROYED MARRIAGES AND CAUSED HUSBANDS TO BECOME VERY CRITICAL OF THE CHURCH.

MOST NEGRO PREACHERS HAVE A FORTY-HOUR-PER-WEEK JOB ON WEEKDAYS. BUT, THEY MAKE MORE MONEY BY PRESENTING A THIRTY-MINUTE SERMON [OR, LESS] ON SUNDAY MORNINGS. SINCE MANY NEGRO PREACHERS ARE PAID A $1,000 [OR, MORE] PER-SUNDAY SALARY, THAT MEANS THEY ARE PAID $52,000 ANNUALLY [PLUS, AN AVERAGE $5,000 ANNUAL-ANNIVERSARY GIFT] WHICH IS NOT TAXED. AS FAR AS Internal Revenue Service IS CONCERNED, THESE PREACHERS “MONDAY-THRU-FRIDAY” JOBS ARE THEIR ONLY SOURCE OF INCOME. FURTHERMORE, IN REFERENCE TO THE $50,000 “Black Farmer Checks” ISSUED BY United States Department of Agriculture, NEGRO PREACHERS ARE PAID A “LOVE OFFERING” FOR HOSTING “Black Farmer Meetings” IN THE SOUTH. HOW DO YOU THINK THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WOULD REACT IF IT KNEW INDIVIDUALS WERE “POCKETING TAX-FREE MONEY” AS A “SIDESHOW” OF THIS FEDERAL INITIATIVE?

SO, WE HAVE PREACHERS WHO ARE SLEEPING WITH OTHER MEN’S WIVES AND “MAKING A KILLING” WITH TAX-FREE MONEY. THEREFORE, IT IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND WHY MOST MALES CONSIDER THE CHURCH TO BE CORRUPT.

    • http://wildblue.net Bungal

We have American History classes and one can still find, although rare, that tells the facts of our past. But one thing is fact, a third party candidate may be the best at times, but few vote for them. The reason? The Unions; the AARP; the corporation leaders; and Liberal radical groups will not vote for them. We live in a radical society, and believe it or not, many churches, even overseas, are bowing to radical Socialism and to supporting things the Word of God tells us is abomination.

The United States once had the best of the best in our black community in supporting honor and the Word. If we do not see how that has changed by some radical racists black preachers, then blindness has set in. Some of our best Bishops and Preachers are still black, but when they speak the Word, adult kids do not want to hear it! I am 67 and I remember a lesson given to all kids. The lesson of, “Mr. Nobody!” It reminded all that what we do, we did, and we are the one responsible for it. This is not being taught because it is suggested this is religion? Of course not, it is simple fact.

  • Buster the Anatolian

Ron Paul is absolutely correct and I hope Rand does run in 2016.

    • KYLE-VANCE@COMCAST.NET

This country is heading for a civil war. It is about the only option we have left to protect our rights. The next step the demon-crates and el-presidentia are going to do is try to outlaw any class of guns that we could possible use to keep what little freedom we have left. I myself would rather be dead than live like a slave under an evil government. The states that are wanting to secceed from the union will need to stand together. This is the only way we would have any chance to break away from the obama-nation.

      • Disgusted

There really is another way. If the states petitioning to secede would refuse to send electors to the Electoral College, December 17… the College would not have a quoram ( only 17 would guarantee that.) Without a quoram, the Electoral College could not elect a President. Then, Congress would have that responsibility… the House chooses the President and the Senate, the Vice President. That means, we could have Mitt Romney ( or some other Republican ) as President and Joe Biden as VP. By the way, isn’t it ironic that both BHO and his idol ( Abraham Lincoln ) have both had states wanting to secede ?

    • http://Personalliberty Rey Gower

As both Ron and Rand Paul has espoused the absolute end result has to be less government as it was in the days of our Founders. If secession has to come to accomplish LESS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT the WE MUST GO to do that venue. Too many of the federal laws and programs should be THE STATES, including BORDER SECURITY.

    • Ed Mack

Do you think we could get ALL 50 states(or is it 57?) This was a very strong indication of our SO-CALLED Presidents knowledge of our country; to secede from the union and leave Washington to it’s corrupt self. We can start another country of the 50 states with the same Constitution. Washington doesn’t use it anyway.Yet far too many people still voted for him indicating how little the voters knew about him. Now you’ve seen the Detroit woman(council person) say we want the bacon now that we’ve voted for you. Isn’t that what Romney was trying to tell all you people that thought he was wrong for saying it… the 47%. NO WONDER YOU WERE STUPID ENOUGH TO VOTE FOR OBAMA. yOU GOT WHAT YOU WANTED.
