What Went Wrong?

November 15, 2012 by

Hello, I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. This commentary is about what went wrong with Mitt Romney — and my prediction.

I predicted Romney would win big. What went wrong? I’ve been asked nonstop since Election Day, “Was your prediction based on hope or bias?”

My prediction was based on a combination of scientific evidence and common sense.

First, it was based on common sense that no President could possibly be re-elected with the worst economy of our lifetimes, with an economy that has produced more months above 8 percent unemployment (43 months) than produced by all the Presidents between Harry Truman and George W. Bush combined (39 months). People just don’t vote for the guy that brings you misery, malaise, foreclosures and bankruptcies, record unemployment, and inflation at the gas pump and grocery store. This election should have been, 100 out of 100 times, a repeat of Ronald Reagan’s landslide over Jimmy Carter.

Secondly, my prediction was based on common sense that turnout, enthusiasm and the makeup of the electorate would be far different than 2008. Obama’s coalition of single women, minorities and young people were the groups most hurt by his economy. They are the ones without jobs. They are the ones suffering: 14.3 percent black unemployment, 53 percent under-employment for college grads. Logic dictated these groups would not come out in record numbers again.

No one is such a glutton for punishment he’d return and ask for a second helping of misery, malaise and despair, right?

Well, I was wrong. The 2012 electorate looked almost identical to 2008. Obama’s supporters didn’t just come for a second helping of misery; they came out enthusiastically and cheered for more misery.

Lastly, my prediction was based on science. The University of Colorado’s predictive model had never failed. It worked to perfection in the Presidential elections of 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008. It predicted a Romney landslide based on scientific facts and historical precedent.

This combination of science and common sense would tell you that in this economy, no President could be re-elected — unless Obama is more an American idol and messiah than a politician and his followers ignore logic, facts and the misery they are experiencing.

Unless we have reached the tipping point that Thomas Jefferson warned about, where a majority now gets checks from government and realizes they can vote for the guy who promises to keep the checks coming.

Obama’s re-election proves that bribery as a campaign tactic is validated. Promise enough free stuff and you win votes, even if the end result is no jobs, no hope and a lifetime dependent on government. You wouldn’t believe this could be true. Not in America. That’s why my prediction went wrong.

Why else did Romney lose? Romney did plenty of his own damage.

Romney picked the wrong Vice President. The GOP has to reach out to women and Latinos. In May, I predicted a Romney landslide if he picked Marco Rubio as his running mate. If Romney picked Rubio, he would have locked down Florida and made deep inroads with Latino voters. With an electorate divided almost exactly 50/50, the Latino vote is the missing link for the GOP. Attract even 5 percent more of the Latino vote and you win. Attract 10 percent more and you win in a landslide.

Paul Ryan added nothing. He reinforced the image of the GOP as an elite club of rich white men. In a diverse country, this choice said “diversity is unimportant.”

Worst of all, Ryan’s views on abortion reinforced that the GOP wanted to take away women’s sexual freedom and rights. Ryan supports no exceptions for abortion, including rape, incest or a women’s life in danger. Men and conservatives didn’t notice. But Obama’s campaign team made sure women noticed. Millions of female voters ignored the awful economy and record unemployment and voted for Obama based on women’s rights.

How does the GOP solve that problem? Simple. The next time any GOP candidate mentions abortion and rape in the same sentence, gag him, hog-tie him and put him in the basement until the election is over.

The real answer is to run candidates who are fiscally conservative and principled, but socially moderate and modern. The GOP needs candidates who say “Roe vs. Wade is the law of the land. I will uphold it, even though my personal views are pro-life. And I will always support exceptions for rape, incest and when a mother’s life is in danger. Period.” The issue is off the table forever. What’s left? The economy and jobs, winning issues for the GOP.

Finally, politics is played just like a football game. What matters is how you start, how you finish, your ground game and your level of aggressiveness.

Romney started poorly, allowing Obama’s television blitz to define him as a greedy, mean-spirited robber baron. Romney ended poorly, spending all his money on television ads instead of a “ground game” — i.e., a massive get-out-every-last-vote effort (like Obama’s). In between, Romney was not aggressive enough on the two defining issues of the campaign.

The first was the auto bailout. Romney lost the Midwest because of this issue. Romney should have taken the offensive with this argument: “President Obama tells us that he ‘saved’ the auto industry. It was his one and only accomplishment, so he repeats it 100 times a day. The reality is that he merely stole $25 billion from taxpayers to protect the pensions of auto union members, who contributed tens of millions of dollars to his election. Now taxpayers owe that $25 billion plus interest – and you don’t even get a car! Obama also allowed private sector autoworkers to lose their pensions because they didn’t contribute to him. This is all immoral, if not criminal.”

That argument would have won the Presidency.

Then there’s Obama’s Libya embassy scandal. Romney played it safe in the final debate and never took the offensive on the issue of Benghazi. Americans never quite understood. But they would have understood one image: “Mr. President, you denied them the security they asked for, watched them die in real time, refused to send a rescue team and then covered it all up by blaming a YouTube video. You left four Americans to die on the battlefield.” Game, set, match.

If Romney had been aggressive and not played it safe, would we be talking about President Romney and celebrating my brilliant prediction? We’ll never know. But if Romney had picked Rubio as his VP, and GOP Senate candidates Todd Akins and Richard Mourdock had never tried to tackle abortion and rape, I have no doubt my prediction would have been on the money.

But it wasn’t to be. And now we’ve got Obama as President for four more years, which means we better get busy defending our country. It’s going to be a busy four years, and I’m not going away. As a matter of fact, I’m stepping up to lead the fight. I hope you’ll join me. I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. See you right back here next week. Same time, same place.

Did anyone else witness the pelosi press conference yesterday? That gaggle is suppose to represent “gubmint leadership”? Absolute “lunacy” on full display. This isn’t even a left/right issue. It’s a sane/insane issue now.

    • Lauren

The lunatics are running the asylum… and the remaining sane people will be blamed for the consequences…

    • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

Pelosi and Reid make me want to URP…but so do Cantor and Boehner

  • Steven R Linnabary

Romney’s loss can be summed up with the old axiom “When voters are given the choice of a real democrat and a fake democrat, they’ll vote for the real democrat every time.”

Romney failed to differentiate himself from his opponent. He needed more than simple racism or “I’m not Obama” to win.

And of course, Romney intentionally angering the entire activist wing of the republican party didn’t help. Can you imagine if Ron Paul supporters had been invited to participate? But Romney didn’t want to associate with the activists.

I’m more surprised at those that didn’t see this coming.

    • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

They foolishly didn’t think they needed Ron Paul supporters….but it was very obvious they were terrified to even let Ron Paul speak at the convention, much less get the vote for nomination because Romney feared an upset. Just goes to show you that cheaters never win….this wasn’t so much a victory for Obama but a bitter defeat for the GOP and their dirty tricks, rule changing, and lack of morals.

Thing is theTP doesn’t run strong state wide canidates. We had a good chance to get rid of Reed a few years ago,but ran a fool. Until the TP can find people that are smart and understand there is more to winning than the nomination they will loose.

Auto bailout- Obama just expanded on Bushes plan.
Abortion- same crap I would show pictures of partial birth, and showed the bills Obama sponsored in Illinois.

Then let them defend the point, abortion is between a woman, her god and the spirit of the unborn child. If she doesn’t believe in god, no problem I believe she is screwed already, but I should not have to pay for it.

    • Norm

      Joe Hammond
The teabaggers have a knack for running idiots. They lost 2 Senate seats, Murdock and Akins, because of it. Congressman West of Florida is also history. Bachman somehow made it, but barely.

      • Flashy

TP senate wins in the 2010-2012 elections….2. Losses…10.

I’m sending XMas cards to all TPers thanking them for being a significant reason President Obama was re-elected and the Moderates in the Senate gained seats in 2012.

      • eddie47d

West made a few disparaging remarks too and I didn’t realize he had been beaten. Apparently even poster children for the far right get beaten.

    • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

How could Romney effectively run anti abortion when he was pro choice before?

Mr. wishy-washy the flip flopper didn’t generate ANY confidence in his integrity.

Top Republicans meeting for the first time since Election Day say the party lost its bid to unseat President Barack Obama because nominee Mitt Romney did not respond to criticism strongly enough or outline a specific agenda with a broad appeal.

In conversations at the Republican Governors Association confab in Las Vegas, a half dozen party leaders predicted the GOP will lose again if it keeps running the same playbook based on platitudes in place of detailed policies. Instead, they asserted, the party needs to learn the lessons from its loss, respect voters’ savvy and put forward an agenda that appeals beyond the while, male voters who are its base.

  • Norm

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal criticized former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on Wednesday for saying that he lost the 2012 election to President Barack Obama in part because Democrats promised “gifts” to minority groups, calling Romney’s remarks “absolutely wrong.”

According to The Los Angeles Times, Romney told donors on a conference call after the election that the Obama campaign “focused on giving targeted groups a big gift” and was “very generous” to ethnic minorities and young voters. Speaking to reporters here at an annual meeting of Republican governors, Jindal said such rhetoric could divide voting groups.

“I think that’s absolutely wrong,” Jindal said. “We have got to stop dividing the American voters. We need to go after 100 percent of the votes, not 53 percent. We need to go after every single vote. … So I absolutely reject that notion, that description. I think it’s absolutely wrong. I don’t think that represents where we are as a party, where we’re going as a party. That has got to be one of the most fundamental takeaways from this election.”

Jindal, who is set to become chairman of the Republican Governors Association, has called on the party to reshape its tone when presenting ideas, especially to constituencies that traditionally vote Democratic.

While I agree that poor choices helped the Romny team defeat itself, one still has to wonder why ANY rational person would vote for as inept an incumbent as this one. I think you totally underestimate the cult of personality that runs deeply through our society. The electorate cites with their heart, not with their head. Example: the election if a comedian with no meaningful experience as Senator from Minnesota. What I fear is that the Democrats understand this much better than the GOP, and can turn this into a perpetual presidential parade. What happens if they nominate Michelle O? She has been deified by the press, looks good, speaks reasonably well and, of course, is a woman. Can’t you just see the speech by the President: “We’ve come a long way in 8 years. But we need to finish the job. My wife can do that.” Historic opportunity! CNN, et all will crow over that. The public will again vote with their hearts. Game, set and match. Again.

    • Smilee

Despite Franken’s history he has since proven himself very competent and now polls in MN confirm that, he will be hard to beat next time. His election also proved without a doubt the it was a honest election despite the lies being spread by the losers in that race.

  • Lauren

Here’s some other things left unmentioned (though things that were mentioned all contributed):

Romney’s unflinching support for NDAA and indefinite detention
Romney’s aggressive militarism and/or support of indiscriminate drone warfare

The GOP needs to work seriously to restore the Constitution if they want the support of pro liberty persons. Roll back the PATRIOT act, disband Homeland Gestapo, end warrantless wiretaps and tracking, reinstate due process protections from arbotrary governmental abuse. End the Federal Reserve and instate sound asset-backed currency! STOP torture! End the wars! Make the hard choices and PASS a BUDGET as required by law, OR SHUT DOWN the FERAL BEAST of strongman obama and his henchman harry refuse to cooperate in passing an actual budget.

Being the “lesser of two evils” just doesn’t cut it anymore. Things have grown too dire. The US either needs to change direction and get back to legitimate governance, or we need to step back and let it implode of its own corruption.

    • Ron Bedell

      Great points. I agree.

    • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

bravo Lauren….that’s the best most comprehensive comment on here !!!!

    • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

“The GOP needs to work seriously to restore the Constitution”

There is no reason for this because the Constitution has not been lost. It is still in use. You just don’t like the interpretations that the majority of the US have made regarding it. And, yes, they are interpretations. The Constitution is not written in stone. It was made to adjust to the times. That you don’t like how it has been adjusted (or the US Supreme Court’s findings of it) is actually quite immaterial.

  • joszsrepublicanpage

We have reached the tipping point of 51% of the people getting free stuff and that is the end of AMERICA ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    • renee tanner

Free Stuff?? You tell really good jokes. Where might I redeem my free stuff, my gifts. Seems like the top 2% were looking for free stuff from Romney. Get in the game and realize that the electorate has not been dumbed down at all. To the contrary. We are now paying attention to the slights of hand, nice try but .. We gotcha and believe me this is only the beginning. Diversity and all inclusiveness is now the order of the day. Get on board or get rolled over. That’s just the way it is from here on out. Pay attention, we the people are just beginning to speak!

      • http://personaliberty.com A-New-Hope

You’re either naïve or the most ignorant person on the planet. You probably can’t get free stuff becuase you have a job and are above the poverty line. Duh

      • alpha-lemming

Ahh yes…. diversity and all-inclusiveness sounds so much nicer than balkinization and indiscriminate standards. Stop flirtin’ around the edges and just tell us (the bill paying half) up front and with no double speak…. “What should the earnings cap be for all Americans so as to insure EVERYBODY owns a Lexus”???

    • eddie47d

They always fail to recognize the “free stuff” that the Elites receive and come to the ridiculous conclusion that they “earned it”. There are plenty of liars and thieves at the top too.

    • Karolyn

Care to cite your sources? Or are you just parroting what you hear from others? (as so often is the case)

  • William

What went wrong ? Lets start off with the obvious lets start with MASSIVE VOTING FRAUD followed by NO REAL CHOICE followed by the fact that the powers that be wanted OBlah blah in there right from the getgo ! I can go on and on, but the bottom line as to what went wrong is WE THE PEOPLE have let this REPUBLIC get away from us and NOW its time to take it back ! The people that are SUPPOSED to be working for US think WE are working for THEM ! The QUESTION on this topic should have been when is enough ENOUGH ???!!!

    • Daveh234

William, you aren’t really that stupid to claim “Massive Voter Fraud”? No truth to the statement. Sorry. The biggest attempt at voter fraud was put forth by the Republicans in the voter registration drives they blatantly violated federal voting laws by throwing away Democratic registrations. But another argument would void voter fraud as having an effect. Too large of margins in the votes tallied. Almost no close calls out there and that is when fraud can succeed. It’s really hard to hide otherwise.
      Nope, not voter fraud.
We the People did speak and the vote was what the people wanted.
Don’t they count? THe hard working tax paying people are part of the Democratic party. There are freeloaders on every side. But if you think otherwise, why is Alabama, Mississippi and other welfare “states” leaning Republican?

      • Ron The Marine

The reason most southern states lean republican is because most of us are GOD fearing, BIBLE believing, JESUS CHRIST loving Christians! The devil and his lost minions won this little battle, but read the book of Revelation in GOD’s Holy Word and you will find who really wins! Everyone (past, present, future) will bow (beneath the earth, on earth and in Heaven) and confess JESUS CHRIST as LORD to the glory of GOD THE FATHER! So enjoy this small victory while you can, because only a fool says or thinks there is no GOD! Obey GOD and leave the consequences to HIM!!!

        Semper Fi!

      • eddie47d

Good for you Ron in being a Believer. Yet I highly doubt if Jesus would have approved in how Romney received his wealth. The devil is in the details.

      • Right Brain Thinker

No, Jesus would definitely not have approved because Jesus is a Liberal. He even has a website with that exact name. Check it out, Ron.

And as an old Marine too, I always liked that one slogan of the USMC’s—-”Kill Them All, Let God Sort Them Out”. Always made me feel that we understood God’s will and stood ready to carry it out.

Belated birthday wishes!—-236 years of rompin’, stompin’, hell, death and destruction!.
For God and Country. OOH-Rah and Semper Fi to you!.

  • Ber

It doesn’t matter really why it happened, but it did and it may be the best thing. NOT that I support Obama’s campaign or anything he stands for but because the only way to teach children some lessons is the hard way. That cup is hot don’t touch it (Obama). Oh but it is so attractive, I think it will taste good, and they have it and I want it (Child or Immature voter). Well, we know what happens next, they child touches the cup or the immature voter follows their lust and cocoa is spilt all over them or their country goes into a deep depression with the voter loosing jobs, family, health care, etc.

Being a student of history, not just the top layer but the deep social and anthropological impact of people and events, I know this society or people will continue but they will not be the same after the next four years and it may be a good lesson learned, the hard way and long way perhaps but hopefully a lesson will be learned. Sometimes upheaval is a good thing it doesn’t feel good when you get burned but you do learn to watch out next time and not to get burned again.

    • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

“Being a student of history, not just the top layer but the deep social and anthropological impact of people and events, I know this society or people will continue but they will not be the same after the next four years and it may be a good lesson learned,”

No, you don’t. What you have stated is conjecture and only conjecture.

  • Norm

In his first national television interview since the 2012 election, Congressman Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., better known as the vice presidential nominee, says losing came as something of a surprise.
“I’ll let the pundits decide exactly how he won,” says Ryan. “The point is, he got more votes than we did. That’s how he won.”
The voter turnout for Obama went beyond urban areas, the president also won non-urban areas in New Hampshire and Iowa.
“The president deserves kudos for having a fantastic ground game,” says Ryan. “And the point I’m simply making is, he won. He won fair and square. He got more votes. And that’s– that’s the way our system works. And so he ought to be congratulated for that.”

    • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Miguel Stroe

With comments like Ryan’s the GOP will keep losing. The ‘democrats’ did NOT win fair and square, there was a lot of voter fraud and a lot of illegal contributions to hussein obama’s initial i billion dollar ‘war’ chest. Obama should have lost. He is the most incompetent president in recent history with a past he refuses to reveal, economic policies that stink and a disastrous foreign policy management that empowers dictators and islamofascists.

      • renee tanner

Guess your short term memory is in decline. Bush undoubtedly was The most inept of Presidents. Everyone mourns the 4 Americans killed in Syria. What about the thousands killed in Iraq?? Totally avoidable. If you’re not there, you can’t be killed. Not only did we NOT go after the perpetrators of 911 (The Saudis) We put countless others in harm’s way to settle a vendetta for George Bush’s personal agenda. Talk about inept. The war was a sham, people lost their lives and the Haliburtons of the world got filthy rich doing so. Inept??? Take a REAL hard look at the 8 years of destruction Bush/Cheney dealt this country. We survived them, I am most certain you will survive President Obama. Have a great day and Stay Blessed my friend.

      • Daveh234

Miguel, it’s obvious the voters didn’t drink the republican Kool-Aid. The lies and money raised by the Republicans was quadrupled over Obama’s totals. Voter fraud did not exist in this election. If it did where and how?
The people of this country came out and voted. Become a man and hold your head high, you are isolating yourself from helping this country and nothing good will become of that attitude. really sad that people believe the lies spewedd forth from the extreme right wing. Limbaugh and Beck and all the others are just there to grab your attention and feed you BS and you don’t have to fall for it.

    • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

makes it pretty obvious they threw the election doesn’t it?
Nobody likes a sore loser but I think they intended to lose….look at the campaign….it was AWFUL

      • Norm

        Rhonda Reichel
        Let’s see…
You go to a football game.
The team you “hate”, for whatever reason, wins.
It was obviously the better team and was projected to win by all sane odds makers.
Your conclusion is that your team threw the game.
        Brilliant conclusion!!

      • eddie47d

Will they even understand winning and losing in football terms Norm?

  • Ralph P

Wayne, you couldn’t be more right “give more free stuff and you win”. Right out of the Hugo Chavez playbook. One problem is they don’t teach personal responsibility in our schools and haven’t for decades, they don’t teach about liberty or how we fought for it and eventually won it. The last two elections have been a result of the systematic dumbing down of America. If all you teach is political correctness and entitlement, how could you possibly vote for liberty and personal responsibility. If you are given everything (or have been promised to be given everything) how do you then change that persons mentality to “you need to pull your own little red wagon”! Another helping of misery is what they will get, but they are so mesmerized by speeches and rhetoric they repeated the same mistake. I didn’t vote for a “rock star”, I voted for a “leader” which America decided they did not want. They prefer their “rock star” persona with zero qualifications to run the country, except fancy speeches. Well done is better than well said…

  • paul jorgensen

Obama was running against Romney over a year ago, because Romney is who he wanted to run against, Rove wondered why obama attacked Romney now he has his answer. Limbaugh wondered why the press treated Romney with kid gloves, they wanted obama to face romney. The press duped you into voting for romney in the primaries. Bachmann said the press is trying to influence this election, and Pelosi said republicans will not show up en masse for romney, they were both correct. I seen this coming!

    • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

It was so obvious….liberal pundit Donna Brashaer even stated the democrats wanted Romney as an opponnent after one of the primary debates…..DUH????

    • eddie47d

Bachmann barely won reelection herself and she wants to be a spokesperson for the Republicans. Did they want an even bigger disaster with her?

  • Corkey

If the GOP ran Ron Paul he would have easily beat Obama. The GOP and media used every dirty trick to silence the man. They deserved to lose as a result Pauls Farewell Address yesterday is another chilling warning to this country. I suggest you listen to it. Mitt Romney received fewer votes than Lamebrain McCain in 2008. The voters have had it with the GOP and their idiotic leadership.

    • Daveh234

The Republican primaries really made the RNC look stupid and goofy.
Herman Cain? Rick Perry? The two most reasonable candidates were never given a chance. Ron PAul was pushed aside. In Florida we had the opportunity to vote for Roseanne lesser knowns. Right from the beginning they showed their “asses” and hurt whatever candidate came through the process.
How any votes came to Romney proabably were from sympathy or just anti-Obama

      • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

        Yep you got it Dave
Instead of standing for principles and the constitution the GOP tried to market Romney as a conservative and the media blackout did it’s share of damage…..the only men standing on that stage I’d ever consider voting for were Ron Paul or Gary Johnson. The rest are all RINOS.
You who were “anybody but Obama” sold out your principles and got your just reward. The lesser of 2 evils crowd would vote for a ham sandwich if your party ran it instead of having any loyalty to the constitution.

    • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

No, Ron Paul wasn’t even on the ballot because the majority of the US don’t like, or want, his policies. For no other reason.

  • Lita Durr

I believe that it was fraud, voter RAMPANT VOTER FRAUD! Illinois has been doing it for years and has it down to a fine art. We the people were screwed. If something isn’t done about protecting one of the most important cornerstones of our rights to keep its integrity than we might as well hand this country over to our enemies gift wrapped. So what will Congress, our voice in the government, do about it? Well, so far I’ve heard no one talk about it at all. Not even Romney or Ryan.

    • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Miguel Stroe

The electorate has been definitely dumbed down. They keep buying the same dependency promises… PLUS the fraud issue needs to be addressed if elections are to mean much in the US.

  • Bernard England

What I believe is it’s hard to beat out someone who has based his whole life on lies and gives away everything that the hardworking class has, so that a bunch of lazy 3rd & 4th generation beggarscan have as much. Also if you would take away the rights of the dead and illegal to vote, Mitt would have won. I have seen the same thing right here in Illinois whe Blogo. got deposed and Quinn was elected, should have never happened, but the Cicago bunch w/the voter fraud got him in.

    • Daveh234

Bernard has a silly notion that the fallacy of voter fraud is what caused this outcome. Really a stupid argument and I think you are as “un” American as anyone else that believes that to be the case. Grow up, educate yourself and start from facts not right wing lies

    • eddie47d

Every election cycle they bring up the illegal vote when it is just not there. Republicans lie so much (cry wolf) its hard to believe them when they do tell the truth.

  • renee tanner

After having said all that…you Sir STILL do not get it! Keep believing your own hype and this scene will play out the same for a VERY LONG TIME. We the people have had enough!

The result was a combination of poor campaigning on the part of Romney and the GOP, not being aggressive enough with the garbage the ‘democrats’ put out, not picking Rubio and going after the Latino vote and MASSIVE fraud on the part of ‘democrats’ ranging from ‘faulty’ voting machines to multiple illegal voting and stuffing ballots. The GOP has yet to respond to the obvious fraud in the ‘swing states’,etc.

    • Daveh234

Again with the fallacy of voter fraud. Get your head out of your butt. It didn’t happen in any meaningfull manner , if at all. Romney sucked as a candidate. I am not a Republican(or a Democrat either) but how many flip flops can someone make before they look like a rubber man. Romney had no balls, he only wanted to be “president” because he somehow thinks he desrves it.

  • Kevin Winn

All true. Wasn’t the GOP campaign manager the same person who did such a poor job running the MCaine campaign in the last election? Don’t the Republicans have anyone who can do a better job?

    • Flashy

No. Steve Schmidt sat this one out. he foresaw the writing on the walls and said the entire GOP campaign, from presidency down, was run by a bunch of “strange thinking people”

  • T. Jefferson

Plain and simple, romney lost because he is nothing more than obama lite. You idiots wanted a limp wristed liberal republican for the ticket to appeal to the freaks in the crowd. You want to win? Put a hardass on the ticket who follows the founding fathers like Thomas Jefferson, One who believes the constitution was perfect the way it was written. One who believes in individualism, freedom and self responsible determination.

    • alpha-lemming

I kinda think Ryan WAS the hardass contingent on the ticket…. albeit on the bottom. His selection at least insured the conversation would be about the budget (for a short while anyway…. ’til the “war on women” and “Romney gives people cancer” campaigns) and responsibility with the peoples dollar. Rubio (near as I can tell…. a good guy) would’ve been labeled a “pandering” or “window-dressing” selection…. “They don’t like you, they’re just trying to fool you” yadda yadda… the lefts response as predictable as the sunrise… and fiscal concerns never would’ve seen the light of day. And of course the “Obama-lite” talking-points from the top of the ticket quenched most of Ryans “time to get tough” message.

  • http://www.facebook.com/missieb2000 Missie Slone Benson

Actually, the thing that no one is talking about is the overwhelming voter fraud that occurred. When you have districts (in battle states, of course) with 114% turnout, that should be a red flag. But when you have multiple districts with that and not one single Romney vote? They acorned this election, plain and simple. Voter fraud is nothing new to the dnc-they invented it.

    • http://www.robstgeorge.com Rob (StGeorge) Manwiller

Right on target, Missie! These prognosticator wannabes, including Dick (head) Morris, never want to factor, or admit the massive voter fraud from the left. It wouldn’t be PC or friendly to the “Dog And Pony Show” or might expose the ‘One Party Beltway System’ (DemonRats & Repulsivicans). Business as usual. ‘Nuff said.

    • TeaParty Patriot (TPP)

What really ticks me off is even after getting screwed by the ‘rats, The RINOs are not persuing the voter fraud. They could contest and refuse to recognize those representatives from the fraudulant voting area an void the election. If neither candidate received the required number of delegates it would void the election and we would have to have a “do-over” possibly with a fair vote/count this time.

      • Daveh234

I wouldn’t consider you a patriot at all. Maybe a Tea Party Supporter. Not a true Patriot.

      • Flashy

Dave…i don’t consider any TPer a “patriot’ for this nation. They may be patriots, but it sure as heck is for this nation.

    • http://facebook doug crawford

voter fraud won the election for 666 ,the little anti christian, he bought the election his news outlet nbc, msnbc ,cnn, abc, cbs , only show what is favorable to oblamer, basic is that he was elected by people who donot think at all they do as they are told ,what is the fade. so yes tpdal faud look to the bible and you can see that the dems. are todally 666 as a group

      • Daveh234

Cmon’ Doug, the voter fraud was more prominent coming from the right anyway and there wasn’t enough to have any effect. It’s an old lie your trying to push. It blatantly is pushed by the right because they can’t believe that they lose otherwise.
I found it hard to believe that the election didn’t get bought by the Right Wing Super PAC’s. It shows that this electorate was drawn out in strength and really beat the bejeebers out of Romney.
This is the voice of “WeTHe People”.
Because I don’t follow your opinionated direction doesn’t mean I am less of an American, less of a Patriot. I am even more so, I am part of the “We the People” majority

    • Right Brain Thinker

The junk yard dogs are out to the ends of their chains screaming about voter fraud again. Yes, other than using the issue to stir up the JYD, the Repugnants haven’t pushed the issue too far. Wonder why? Could it be that they have way more dirt on their hands than the Dems and are afraid that would come out if they pushed the issue too hard?

    • Smilee

If you found all the fraud committed in the election and multiply it by 10, Romney still loses. This is the claim of republicans every time they lose and they are never able to prove it. MN in 2010 found so little fraud ln the Franken- Coleman race , that if you gave all those who voted fraudulent to Coleman he would still have lost. (Franken won by 3i4 votes after a 6 month exhaustive recount and you still have some claiming Coleman lost due to fraud and it has been proven beyond a doubt to be false and again we are hearing all these false claims. GOP wants voter suppression laws enacted to solve a problem that simply does not exist. And use this false claim to support their lies. We in MN saw through that and voted in down in this election because we were not sucked in by all these lies.

      • eddie47d

This election was going to be close no matter who was running. The 2000-2008 elections proved that out and little has changed. Why would anyone predicted a landslide when the sides have been drawn for many years.

    • Dulceb

There are two factors that skewed this election.
One: There was fraud. So far it has not been definatively proven, but all that is done in the dark witll come to the light.
Two: This is what had steamrollered over my heart, one out of every two Americans would prefer a handout to self respect. You cannot beat Santa Claus. You cannot beat the feeling that 50% of the nation has of entitlement.
Yes, Romney could have been more agressive, but I doubt it would have helped. The fox is always going to vote for an open chicken house,
For the final cliche, if you rob from Peter to pay Paul, you can always count on Paul’s support.
Now, the responsible 50% has to hunker down and prepare for the denouement.

      • Daveh234

How dare you call anyone and all that voted for the DNC freeloaders and stupid and whatever else you seem to believe. You cannot make statements like that without me and many others thinking how little a person you are. Not a Patriot but a rabble rousing ignorant POS. You are the people that are making ridiculous statements and demands. You are not the voice of “We the People”. Those people voted Obama in

      • renee tanner

We said the SAME thing when Bush got in twice. Just accept the facts Romney Lost…Period. No one was buying the Republicans pitch of hate and fear. Get on with your life already.

      • GALT

Small problem with that line of thinking is that ole Willard seem to concede rather
easily……….this guy spent 45 million of his own money in trying to beat McCain for
the nomination the last time………if he thought there was any chance that he could
have protested and won regarding the results…..he would have taken it……..

Being both stupid and a sleazeball, I guess he just wasn’t THAT STUPID…….

      • eddie47d

This site crowed that Obama would spend one billion on this election and although he came close it was Romney who spent 1.25 billion which they failed to predict or even acknowledge. Maybe they need a new crystal ball or to get outside more with the actual voter.

      • GALT

No fifth term………!!!!!!!! ( proper planning prevents p*ss poor performance )

Hopefully there is enough lead time………

I find it infuriating to hear so many of you accuse honest Americans of being on the dole. These people lost their jobs, their homes, their healthcare and their dignity. All of this happened because the American govt knew what was happening and did not, I repeat…did not do anything to protect them. Americans need this financial help. How about losing your job and you do not get unemployment extended even tho you still have money left in your unemployment account. Where does that money go?…to the govt, so they can give it to illegals?

You mention voter fraud, how about people voting who have no right to vote in this country, how about illegals & hispanics supporting BO so they can continue to be on the dole. Stop this negative speculation against Americans. So, blame BO for his “tricks of the trade” so-to-speak…the “disaster act along w/work permits and amnesty” for “children” up to the age of 30 born to illegals in this country. I did not know that “children” could be that old. BO Circumventing actions for Arizona and other states who were working to deport illegals,..another carrot for hispanics. BO blatant lying during the campaign re: deportation numbers, benghazi. Blasting Romney for his investments and yet he was guilty of having the same investments as Romney, no media blasted that across their reporting. Stop buying into the notion that Americans want to be on the dole. That is an insidious lie.

Do you remember the illegals who were given an Itin # by the IRS/Govt so they could file tax on their earnings. They actually got as much 30,000 (much more than they earned) by claiming dependents in mexico…aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, etc. Think we can get away with this? I never read that any of them were prosecuted and/or made to pay restitution or deported! I guess I know the answer to that one…

Our govt continues to give illegals many services that Americans are not even eligible for and illegals did not put any money into these programs. Yet, our govt continues to send aid in the millions to countries south of the border. Why? When most of their people are here. So, our govt is supporting their govt with financial aid and supporting their people here with financial aid. America’s population and system is burgeoning with these 50 millon+ illegals here. I remember in the last 4 years reading 8 mill, 9mill, 11 mill, 13 mill, then it jumped to 30 mill, the way they procreate it has to be that number (50 mill)! Why would this govt want to give amnesty to 50 million people who cannot support themselves? This is not a population that is necessary to our survival. They do not have anything to offer, nothing!

You also don’t hear our govt complaining about the money they spend on illegals.Yet, Our govt keeps talking about “entitlements” that they want to take from American taxpayers. Let me remind you, those “entitlements” that they keep talking about are soc security and medicare which we paid for, so they really mean they want to take our ownership rights from us for what we paid for. It is so like the govt to change the rules in the middle of the road. How about the 793 billion (it is not 719 bill as they reported) that BO took from our ownership to fund OBcare. That should be illegal. He just took it! You want to complain about something, complain about that lying crook in the white house. Stop complaining about Americans who are in one of the worst dilemmas ever.

Something you may not have heard about re: illegals in this country and some of those legal immigrants from s-o-border: they have rodeos every summer in south jersey and the animal rights people generally follow them around the country for their inhumane treatment of animals. They have this macho culture: bull fighting, dog fights, cock fights, in other words blood sports! Well, add this to the list: running horses around a ring at full speed and then lassoing their front legs to pull their legs out from under them at a full gallop. This injures horses as well as jeopardizes their lives. I don’t understand why animal rights don’t just close them down, arrest them and deport them. But you don’t hear about this negative “cultural: impact either.

voter ID and paper ballots would solve that

      • http://yahoo bobdavidson

234 you are real clown , He bought the election 47 mil. checks meant Mitt was down 47 mil. votes. Just bring up voter fraud on your comp. and take a look at what happened in Ohio.

      • Texas Ride

Bobdavidson you are so correct about the fraud! Why isn’t anyone talking about it other than a few of us. The repubs are silent! Kind of makes me wonder which side they are on.

These “retros” can’t win without perpetrating fraud on the nation!

There isn’t anyway obumscum would have been ligitimately elected with the rising umemployment, loss of income, a crippled economy, devaluation of the dollar, loss of personal freedom and the criminal treasonous acts being committed by the regime (and both parties.) There is not enough real Americans that want more of the same. So…the retros import foreigners who are already socialists to do their voting! That is so much easier for them, just dilute our demographics with all the socialists they can entice into this country. Then, they buy votes with our money. We are made to finance the rise of socialism by the means of taxes collected and spent on unions, which are nothing but democrat slush funds, the bailouts, and soon QE111. And, don’t get me started about our tax dollars that are given away to socialist countries and the mideast.

When can working Americans start benefiting from the taxes they pay, when they get the gust to take their country back.

      • Jeff

Do you ever feel the need to have evidence before making “factual” statements? I guess Texans don’t believe in facts judging by your President W.

    • Flashy

What 114% ? Whatever you are smoking…quit. Obama won several precincts with 100% of the vote. the math and demographics are plain for anyone to read how it occurred. in the Philly precincts…the average number of voters was 300. All inner city and very very unlikely to vote Romney Ryan. Same with the couple of precincts in Cuyahunga (?0 County in Cleveland.

However…i assume since you are calling into question those precincts which voted 100% Obama, you’d have no problem with calling into question those precincts which went 100% Romney Ryan. Which, BTW…outnumber in votes and umber the ones the extremists are whining about for Obama.

As well…if one is looking in askance at any Obama vote…how does one explain the Senate elections? Oops.

      • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

Obama won with just about 25% of elligible voters….that’s no overwhelming victory or mandate from the majority. Factor out the felons & illegal aliens, voter fraud, he doesn’t represent the vast majority…..it’s just that the GOP foolishly tried to run a liberal masquerading as a conservative and more people stayed home than voted for Romney as well.
Obama doesn’t have the majority of the nations support by a long shot. The GOP threw this race rather than nominate a constitutional conservative.

      • eddie47d

Rhonda: Few illegals vote and even fewer would even take the chance of going to a polling place to do so. Think about your reckless statement about “felons” also. Most who have a felony record don’t vote either and those who do have had their record cleared (which means they are no longer a felon).

      • Flashy

Rhonda…President Obama won with a majority of the votes. not a plurality…a majority.

By any count, the voters slapped down the GOP. If he didn’t receive a mandate, care to explain about the sudden ‘evolving’ of the leadership of the GOP and how come they’re caving in on almost every area coming up for discussion?

    • Flashy

      Missie..think fer gosh sakes!

      1. The statistics for years back shows voter fraud occurs not with the individual voter, but with the election officials. Where were most of the fraudulent acts found? GOP held strong holds where ballots disappeared or ‘provisionals’ demanded and then placed aside. That and votr suppression was very apparent as part of the GOP strategy. Every right wing conservative planners state that the higher the % of vote, the less likely conservatives win…thus the goal is keeping the vote numbers low.

Second…recall, when the UN asked to send in observers to watch our election process…it was not the Progressive or Moderates screaming “no!”…. it was the right extremists and conservatives screaming no international observers. Now…why would you suppose the right screamed no to international observers and the Moderates and Progressives were saying ‘come on in!”. Ya really think the ones inviting international observers were planning on organized fraud and cheating?

      • nickkin

Yes you dummy…..it is the start of Globalization….next time you have a chance to vote, if the UN qualifies you as an American traitor, you can vote in the Euro & Mid-east countries…that is unless you have a sex change……women will be put back in the dark ages of no-vote….if you can find enough women you can march to the tune of Sharia…hear the horns blowing…6 times a day ( I think ) for you to respond. Yes, the UN.The future America’s baby-sitter.

        Let’s see:
He has not only shown his official birth certificate, he wrote to the HI Health Department ask special permission to get a copy of this original Document from the Health Department. (BTW, they are numbered not by who was born first but by which document is processed in the weekly packet sent by the hospital to the health dept.) The officials in Hawaii have verified, numerous times that Obama was born there. The State of Arizona has verified that Obama was born in Hawaii.

We don’t know his school grades because we don’t have the right to know them. This has been true since 1974. I strongly suggest that you move on.

He does not promote the Muslim Brotherhood, although he has been attempting to help the new Government in Egypt by opening talks with them.

No, I don’t wonder where his loyalty lays. He is an American and has been all of his life. So are his wife and children. Other than the fact that you don’t like him, what facts are there that show that he is anything other than he seems to be?

  • Karolyn

    Very good points.

    • Flashy

and voice. Mr. Root must be Irish, for the article is about as self serving bunch of blarney as could be written. Betwixt Mr Root and Karl Rove, it would be difficult to separate which is looking for the best BS excuse for completely misreading the American electorate.

The GOP was completely spanked and one may summarize the reasons in two words…Tea Party.

As i wrote back in May when, reading his prediction of a GOP landslide, I stated Mr. Root was a few fries short of a Big Mac Deal, the GOP would lose and the call was relatively easy. All one has to do is recite President Obama’s campaign theme…Forward !

The GOP is a party of negativity and they ran the entire election on negativity and promises to go backwards. They offered no solutions. Add to that throughout the President’s first term they said “no” on every policy to the point they have been tagged the Party of No. The GOP placed politics and selfish motives above that of nation…and they were measured, found wanting, and summarily dismissed.

The American is, for the most part and with the exception of the extremist Right, a people who look forward…who face problems, roll up the sleeves, and get to work fixing it. Obama has that message, willingness, and leads by that example. He doesn’t propose extremist policies, and in every crisis has been cool, calm, collected, and a steady captain of the ship. He is also 180 degrees the opposite of the Bush/Cheney debacle in that he rejected fear, anger, hate and divisiveness as the basis for leadership..

Mr. Root..you cited the economic numbers as ‘proof’ President Obama would go down. What you and your ilk failed to realize is the most simplest of concepts. With the exception of the TP and American Taliban, Americans are not dumb cattle to be herded at the behest of elite wealthy aristocratic controllers.

Americans measured this president’s economic performance from the point that he saved us from the abyss of a depression, saved jobs, and was able to reverse course. His economic performance was positive…especially in light of being opposed every step and inch of the way by self serving GOPers who placed politics above nation. In viewing through the GOP eyes…had they cooperated, the election would have been even a larger mandate as the economy would be further ahead. His economic performance is based upon Forward principles. Rebuild the infrastructure, new energy sources, R&D, education, assimilating the ever changing society into One America. Rebuilding the health of the Middle Class.

His negative numbers may be attributed, in a hefty part, to the negativity always cast at him and moving the nation forward. The lies, the untruths, the negative comments about hyped numbers which were taken out of context … Americans don’t take to that.

His foreign policy? Even the TPers and that gang of scam artists aka American Taliban couldn’t find much fault.

Recall the Conventions, and the campaign crowds. Obama and the Dems. A mixture of the people of America. All genders, all colors, all creeds, all ages. The GOP’s ? Angry middle age white people.

Finally, simple mathematics. Going into the campaign, the Democrats had 212 electoral votes solid in their corner. The GOP 186. Obama had only to win three of the then swing states to carry the day…the GOP had to carry all but two.

How could the GOP won the presidency? Huntsman had the best chance..and likely could have. Pawlenty would have made it neck and neck and had a better than even chance of winning a horse race. But, in the wisdom of the extremists…the ones who could have taken the ring were ousted early.

We may now sit back and watch the TP extremists whine, cry and yell loudly as they are pushed back into the corners where they belong and moderation takes back some control … the next six months will be a raucous time as the TP extremists scream and rant as the white cosated guys come and take them away to the asylum theyescaped from.

And America can enjoy the promise of America…moving forward.

      • http://gillysrooms.blogspot.com GILLY FROM AUSTRALIA

And you can add that Congressman John Boehner helped lose it too for thinking of his ego and politics before thinking of his very nervous countrymen who have $trillions invested in the stock markets which he let them sweat over before raising the debt ceiling at the 11th hour and still to lazy to ensure airport workers would be paid that week. That type of attitude lost it and people dont forget so quickly. I might add what happens in America affects us in Australia too.

      • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

Obama has the message alright…just not the execution….he talks a good game but had no specifics either on how to fix the economy…in fact if you take a long hard look he hasn’t got a clue and it will just be more of the same Keynsian b.s. that hasn’t worked the last 4 years.

When this country’s economy implodes you will be like Wayne asking “what went wrong?”

No one has or will accuse you of being very bright Wayne, and you can take that
and the 150 lbs of granite to the bank, and still won’t be able to buy a coffee at
    Starbucks.

Why were you WRONG?………despite all your excuses, it is quite simple.

That a majority of the 99% would be convinced that voting for someone who is
in the top ten percent of the top 1% would be a solution to “their” problems was
NOT a reasonable expectation……….despite that fact that a good portion of these
actually were foolish enough to believe this.

You see Wayne the only one’s left who harbor the delusion that the blessings
of “free market, unregulated, capitalism” is a good thing are those who have yet
to be victimized by it…………which is a shrinking, not a growing faction……..if
those “blessings” were REAL………voting for it would be a “no brainer”, rather
than those voting with “no brain”………..

As you slide into the ranks of the victims you can contemplate this……still there
is the possibility you can always try to get your old job back with Jim Feist, as the master
prognosticator you claim to be………after all, actually being able to do it, isn’t really
a requirement in a confidence game, is it?

“You see Wayne the only one’s left who harbor the delusion that the blessings
of “free market, unregulated, capitalism” is a good thing are those who have yet
      to be victimized by it………’

I’m no fan of Socialism, Progressivism, Hopey-Changeism, etc. But any of us who are/were working stiffs that got shafted by some 3-piece suit middle manager understand that pure capitalism sucks just as bad as it’s polar opposite.

      • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

I disagree….the system we are operating under is corporatism and it has been since Bush and his cronies took over. Don’t believe me? Then go to open secrets and see who’s giving Romney and Obama big $$$. Not the citizens, not the military, their largest contributions were from wall street.

We haven’t had free market capitalism in many years ….if we did we would be thriving. Everything now is skewed to benefit banks, corporations, and vultures like Romney. The whole congress needs to be voted out and you need to elect people who score high on the NEW AMERICAN FREEDOM INDEX. That tells you the % of times they vote WITH THE CONSTITUTION.

That’s where we went terribly wrong.

      • GALT

Rhonda……..nothing went terribly wrong…….capitalism doesn’t work because economics
doesn’t work……….the only reason you have a “middle class” is because “unregulated
free market capitalism” crashed the economy in 1929, and the myth of sound money
and the attempt to return to it, made the continuation of the war to end all wars an unavoidable outcome. ( see The Lords of Finance.. )

Why the economic subset of capitalism doesn’t work is simple enough…..

a brief excerpt from the book Econned.

“In 1776, Adam Smith published The Wealth fof Nations. In it he argued that the uncoordinated actions of large numbers of individuals, each acting out of self interest, sometimes produced , as if by “an invisible hand,”results that were beneficial to broader society. Smith also pointed out that self interested actions frequently led to injustice or even ruin. He fiercely criticized both how employers colluded with each other to keep wages low, as well as the ” savage injustice ” that European mercantilist interests had “commited with impunity” in colonies in Asia and the Americas.

Smith’s ideas were cherry picked and turned into a simplistic ideology that now dominates university economics departments. This theory proclaims that the “invisible hand” ensures that economic interest will always lead to the best outcomes imaginable. It follows that any restrictions on the profit seeking activities of individuals and corporations interfer with this invisible hand, and therefor are “inefficient” and nonsensical.

According to this line of thinking, individuals have perfect knowledge both of what they want and everything happening in the world at large, and so they pass there lives making intelligent decisions. Prices may change in ways that appear random, but this randomness follows predictable and unchanging rules and is never violently chaotic. It is therefore possible for corporations to use clever techniques to reduce and even eliminate the risks associated with their business. The result is a stable productive economy that represents the apex of civilization.

This heartwarming picture airbrushes out nearly all of the real business world.”

It took 55 years ( 1945 to 1999 ) for the blessings and tendencies of ‘capitalism’ to
undo those things that were restraining it from doing exactly what Smith said it would do
and what is was doing………he are two interesting thoughts by Smith from when he
first ventured his thoughts as the so called father of “economics”……

“A man must live by his work, and his wages must be at least enough to maintain him. They must even on most occasions be somewhat more: otherwise it would be impossible for him to bring up a family and the RACE of such workmen could not last beyond the first generation.”

“The subjects of every state ought to contribute towards the support of government, as nearly as possible, in proportion to their respective abilities; that is, in proportion to the revenue which they respectively enjoy under the protection of the state.”

Those still enthralled by the “mythology” of economics and it’s capitalism subset, have
no understanding of either of these concepts………and have no clue that these idea’s
originate from Smith……and they are resistant to both……..

The fact remains……you have “free market, unregulated, voluntary transaction,
capitalism”………crony or not…..it’s still capitalism……..and if it’s not working for you,
        that’s because………it doesn’t work……..

The real joke is why would you expect something that measures success, achievement
and benefit in terms of “money”……..when it is clear that one can and will do whatever it
takes to WIN…….based on the rules of the game…….and if you can write the rules,
        even better?

If you have not been successful in the game…….either you didn’t know what the rules
were……….or you had something inside you which prevented you from doing what
was required to win…………and I’m willing to bet that for most, this is true.

The irony is why can you not see that other’s are not so restrained……….and using
the system that you claim to support to do precisely what it was designed to do?

Hey, John, tell me. If you were in the position to make your own government, what would it look like? Would it be a constitutional republic? Would it be a monarchy? HOw would you build your idea world? Tell me about your view of what the world should look like.

GALT First the International market Scheme needs to be abandoned , its Not resulting in balanced trade or sustainable supply overall . So to stop the trend towards a UN Dependent One world Market in Order for Nations to stay Independently Self Reliant every nation should first create they own vital needs from the food they eat to the Nuts and Bolts to provide these essentials . Then whatever they have left over they offer to the World in Trade for something they don’t have and that trade be negotiated to a Solvent result for all .
The Nations that cannot provide themselves with certain needs but have other resources or creative Innovations that can expand their essential needs would be how a nation either supports itself independently or becomes a ally of another nation .

GALT First the International market Scheme needs to be abandoned , its Not resulting in balanced trade or sustainable supply overall .

TIM – Since the global economic system is growing more and more interconnected, intertwined and even co-dependent with each passing day, and since this trend toward growth, expansion and increasing economic, political, social and commercial connection is a fact of human nature and human history, then not only will the global economy continue it’s acceleration toward unity, but it will also drive all of us more closely together over time. Of course, there will always be those who do not want to go down this path, but stopping it is now impossible.

GALT So to stop the trend towards a UN Dependent One world Market in Order for Nations to stay Independently Self Reliant every nation should first create they own vital needs from the food they eat to the Nuts and Bolts to provide these essentials . Then whatever they have left over they offer to the World in Trade for something they don’t have and that trade be negotiated to a Solvent result for all .

TIM – The facts are that no nation will ever again be ‘independently sefl-reliant’. Sustainable growth over the long term, not stagnation, requires accelerating trade, commerce, innovation, education, standardized systems of money and increasing cooperation between the parties involved. All this would mean that the parties would need to develop rules for those interactions. In other words, it would not take us very long to get back to where we are now. So, why then re-invent the wheel? Why not work to make the system in place now better?

GALT The Nations that cannot provide themselves with certain needs but have other resources or creative Innovations that can expand their essential needs would be how a nation either supports itself independently or becomes a ally of another nation .

TIM – Since, generally, each nation has something the others need or want, and since alliances and treaties would create the variuos allies that you suggest, then is that not what we have now?

      • http://www.facebook.com/tony.newbill1 Tony Newbill

Tim no I don’t think we have a Unity with our trade partners since all Currencies are not par value and this certainly is causing the discount in USA wage growth now that credit is gone . And that Lack of following the free floating currency rules by Trade partners as their GDP grows is another reason why the USA and European nations have become Insolvent by Losing its self reliant manufacturing thats the bases for Wealth creation as well , and the Lack of a Fair trade Negotiation in balancing the deficits with agreements over these disparities is why we should have brought tariff Trade back into the Process of negotiations long long time ago as we have NEVER had Balance Trade since the 1994-5 trade agreement with the WTO was Formed !!!!
So now all we have since 2008 is world Government Consolidated with the Private sector Industries that Over these last 15 years have Only merged together internationally into what is Now called the multinational Corporate sector , and all this is parallel to How Kissinger described this Plan in his NSSM200 study to Bring about World Control of the View of Unfettered Population growth in the world becoming out of control and unable to supply itself and stay Peaceful

Galt –I never said UNREGULATED free market capitalism. We screwed the pooch when Clinton unwisely derailed the Glass Stegall act and when Brooksley Born blew the whistle on the derivatives and she was marginalized, or rather neutralized, by Clintons lackeys.

Of course there needs to be regulations and it can work….we just haven’t been allowed to see that. We don’t have the right regulations in place now to prevent another TARP.

Without the federal government playing favorites rather allowing these companies and banks to fail when they take risks— free market capitalism is a win win for the common man.

The great depression was not a result of free market capitalism….and the resulting formation of the federal reserve has further hindered it by enabling unfair competition.

      • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

Galt- the myth of sound money? Gold and silver backed currency is no myth.

Fiat money systems always collapse if not backed by gold and silver….show me one that hasn’t. I’d say we’ve about run out of time on ours wouldn’t you?

Gold bars tungsten filled showing up stamped with our treasury should tell you that is where the myth lies.

      • filpped54

I agree with you that pure Capitalism or pure Socialism do not work. A happy medium is most likely to succeed in any scenario. Any social system needs to have oversight and regulation to protect the citizens from corruption and those who are tempted to take advantage of citizens in vulnerable situations. We should not have to on our guard constantly to protect ourselves in this so called “civilized” society.

      • GALT

For Rachel:yes, you are correct about the de-regulation which began with Reagan, and
the early signs with the S&L Crisis and the crash of 87……..but that didn’t prevent or
stop the “spirit of capitalism” from continuing…..where the failure of Long Term Capital
Mgmt almost took down the economy……by the “faux” Bank of of Sweden Prize for Economics in memory of Alfred Nobel, a company formed by these “frauds” and the
Blackford Scholes Model which claims to have developed a “model” that eliminated
risk…….which was your “derivatives” market…….and this idiocy didn’t stop the repeal of Glass Stegal or the passage of Gram, Leach Bliley…….which gave you the perfect
“capitalist” model………( not your’s….because you have admitted the need for regulation. )

The problem now is……..the system is way out of whack, and neither nations nor their
central banks have any control over the “problem” which still exists……because the
imaginary wealth that was created…….still exists…..because the losses have not been
realized……..and there are in addition to the “debt” resulting from the mortgage meltdown
there are another 87 trillion dollars of unsettled derivatives still floating around.

If this were all restricted to the “sub prime” mortgages …….the entire value
of this market was 1.2 trillion dollars……..

So we have an extremely precarious situation that can be triggered by any number of
factors and individual players…….since centralized control and stability is no longer
        possible…………

While gold and silver ( or other hard money constructions ) seem to offer stability……..they don’t appear “economically” until 800 / 600 BC…….prior to that
credit alone was sufficient……..and still failed……..and the only thing that it took
to make these credit markets unstable was the introduction of usury…….and that
is the underlying weakness of “economics” at its core…….the only solution for this
problem was the general forgiveness of debt on a regular basis………

When coin money appears in Greece, Persia, India, and China it has a singular
purpose……the funding of armies for the purpose of conquest………to learn about
this Debt The First Five Thousand Years…..is the most direct and efficient method.

As for gold/silver or whatever providing “stability” in 1929 the United States was on the
gold standard and also had control of 80% of the world’s gold supply…….the Federal Reserve was not centralized as it is today………the 13 individual banks set their own
policies…….which put the N.Y. Fed in the middle of the maelstrom under it’s head
Benjamin Strong…..and so the leverage factor’s were only two…….fractional reserve
requirements as set by the various Fed Banks, and the margins offered by Wall Street Brokers………unfortunately in europe, the economic situation was bleak…..and
the major players, Britain, France and Germany……acting at cross purposes to each
other……..which forced all available capital to seek a positive return, and the only
place this was possible was…….Wall Street…….which was completely unregulated.

Keynes doesn’t publish his “theory” until 1936, so most of the “supposed knowledge”
being spewed regarding the why’s and wherefores of what really happened is
        simply “common ignorance”……….repeated ad nauseum…….

Now actual understanding of this and the history involved is not particularly difficult
to come by……..so if you have such an interest the following volumes with help
you with the “factual” nature of the history….and you can then draw your own
        conclusions………

        Debt the First 5000 Years
        The Lords of Finance
        Power, Inc
        Extreme Money
        Economics Unmasked
        Econned
        The Great Divergence

You can google them for the their relevance as to your own interests, assuming
that any of this is of interest………..

Finally all economic systems/ regardless of form of government have collapsed,
that is “history”………we now have a global system which is on the verge of doing
so………..that is because ‘economics” itself……has no foundational connection
to anything REAL……..regardless of what you try……until such a connection
to REALITY is reached……..ultimate failure is the only possible result.

for timothy……was your john question directed at me? if so, it is far too general
to produce a response…….so you will have to wait for the book……..and for this
to matter you would need a more expansive back round…….the reading list here will
        start you off…….

Also I do not know why my name appears in one of your posts, numerous times, as
if I am participating in a debate with someone else………

    • GALT

Sorry Rhonda……I blurred your names together, and ended up with Rachel……

I find it hard to believe that in Cuyahoga County Ohio out of 100 precincts, O-bozo got 99% of the vote. Something stinks rather badly!

Also it was reported, the day after the election one retailer in St. Louis, MO sold a half a million dollars worth of ammunition in one day. Are you listening Mr. Obama , or whatever your name?

To Gilly from Down under: Right on with your assessment sir. I’ve stated this last week and in the past upteen times, yet, i’ll do it again. Romney lost because he alienated along with excluded in many ways, the majority of the populace. Saying 47-49% of the pop. are freeloaders, then stating he’s not too concerned about the poor or working class for they have the social safety net. Afterwards, he said Hispanic people should consider self-deportation. Finally saying that Obama promised “gifts” to blacks, other people of color , and young people, is not a winning strategy by any stretch of the imagination. The Repubs. better start making concerted efforts not half hearted ones to reach out to the 100%. Bobby Jindal, gov. of L.A. with Marco Rubio were right on with their analysis of pointing out these flaws. If the GOP plus conservatives as a whole don’t follow this advice, we may never see a GOP president in my lifetime. BTW, i’m going to be 50 in about two months. This is something everyone here better take into consideration. Thanks!!

Also didn’t put all my eggs in one basket and invested in some real estate…want to know where that went and why. Got an hour or two? Yes..I do draw SS and I’m on Medicare which I pay for as well as a the supplement and rx supp and I pay about as much as when I was Cobra with Aetna….

And…I voted for Obama. Romney was an evil joke.

      • Texas Ride

No Mike, it was NOT hard working Americans that put omaumau back in office. It was the envious, greeding, lazy freeloaders that want more and more goodies, and the illegal foreign votes! As usual, the libs turn everything upside-down and backwards.

And, lets not forget all the fraud committed, republican votes disappears and democrat votes mysteriously multiplied. For an example, in a precinct where 100,000 more votes were cast than there were eligible voters!

Why don’t the repubs call this election out, as fraud! We need to do it over with paper ballots and not allows people to vote over and over again during weeks of “early voting.”

      • eddie47d

Few if any illegals vote Texas Ride so you are another one trying to sell fear and disinformation to win an election. Republicans can be so damn arrogant and spiteful in everything they say and do. Since the majority of voting machines come from Conservative companies it would seem like they control your quest for power.

      • Texas Ride

      • Texas Ride

eddie, I can’t let your statment go unchallenged about conservatives owning the voting machines! Really! Why don’t you give me the names of these companies.

And, don’t forget the ones owned by Soros and his company in Spain. You know that Socialist Country where moochie spent a few Million Tax Payer Dollars, supposedly on a “vacation.” Give me a break! You “retros” are so full of it that everything you post stinks! None of you, and there seems to be an influx of mentally retarded retros out this morning, would know the truth if it sat on your face!

      • eddie47d

I brought those companies up over a year ago and listed their names, CEOs and their voter registration. That is on the web for you to see. Soros does not own any voting machines but does have stock in a company who makes the parts. Romney outright owns a few voting machines. (14,000). Michelle going to Spain is a separate issue and that trip had no connection to voting but nice try. No I haven’t received any checks lately! LOL!! Apparently you are having a certain time of the month though! Now check your diaper because it seems to be full!

      • Kinetic1

        Texas,
Lord, where do I start. First, before you start asking for proof from others, provide it yourself. What precinct is it “where 100,000 more votes were cast than there were eligible voters!”?
Second, a list you request, a list you’ll receive.
        1) Republicans control Unisyn, owned by a Malaysian gambling company, Scytl, ES&S, Dominion, Sequoia and Hart InterCivic, for a control of 81% to 90% of electronic voting machines. http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2012/11/03/18725030.php?show_comments=1

        2) Hart InterCivic provides voting systems that are used in Ohio, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, and Hawaii. Private equity firm H.I.G. Capital, LLC bought out a “significant” portion of Hart in July of 2011, and now the majority of Hart’s board directors are employees of H.I.G. H.I.G. was founded by Tony Tamer, a former Bain employee and bundler for Mitt Romney’s campaign. Of H.I.G.’s 22 American directors, 21 donated to Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.

        3) “Tagg Romney, the son of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, has purchased electronic voting machines that will be used in the 2012 elections in Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington and Colorado.”
        http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message2023783/pg1

        4) “the ones owned by Soros and his company in Spain.” I believe the company you are referring to is Scytl. There are rumors that it’s CEO Pere Valles gave heavily to the Obama campaign, but no records have been found that confirm this. Likewise, there is nothing to suggest that Soros owns any part of this company. It’s of little difference though, since only a few states contracted with the firm to count overseas votes in 2010, and the results were so bad that most dropped the company. They do not control ANY campaign voting machines in the U.S.

Now, if you want to look into methods for voter fraud, consider that, with their secretaries of state, Republican Governors control the electronic vote count in nine key swing states: Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Arizona, and New Mexico. Remember how this worked out in Florida 2000?

Research, my friend requires more than looking to see who’s “sitting on your face.” (And just why would you have voting machine CEOs sitting on your face?)

      • Lisa

Neither seemed concerned about bringing back our jobs so people could be earning their own living without having to need food stamps to live on. Romney had no concept of how it is for anybody other than the wealthy. He is part of the job exporting problem! Also he made healthcare insurance mandatory in Massachusetts before Obama got elected and foisted it on the rest of the country. Romney lost Massachusetts and Michigan so I’m not surprised he lost the election. Governors are usually expected to win the state they were Governor in.

      • http://google rose

This reply is for Janet. What the heck! You work full time nurse and you draw ss also? Nurses make good wages what the heck you need ss too, if you are working fulltime? Oh yeah, you are one of the brainwashed sheeple that voted for Obama and you deserve to do this

    • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

I agree and I’d like to add that GOP offered us no choice in Romney. 85% in agreement with Obama’s policies. We wanted a CONSTITUTIONAL conservative….not a moderate.

The hen house stunts Romney’s team pulled in the primaries (CHEATING) and changing the rules at the convention assured that no self respecting Ron Paul supporter would vote for Romney…and including anyone with integrity or a sense of fair play even if you weren’t a Paul supporter.

Romney has the same problem Obama did regarding adherence to the constitution…he supported NDAA, TARP, PATRIOT ACT, preemptive wars (even without a declaration from congress), big govt, deficits (2 trillion more spending than Obama on the military)., in other words….the same things. NO CHOICE. It was a repeat of the 2008 election with even worse results.

We would have had a republican president if Ron Paul had run against Obama….there would have been no agreeing on policies during the presidential debates that’s for sure. He was really the ONLY candidate that could have brought in disenfranchised democrats, libertarians, true conservatives and youth votes. His theme of leaving most things to the states and reducing the federal government powers was a clear winner with most people…only neocons wanted Romney.

      • Motov

        Go Rhonda Go!!
Ron Paul definitely got shafted with the Maine delegates, and they also got silenced at the GOP Convention, and yet “Romney-bots” expected them to get behind a “status quo” and flip-flopping candidate like Romney?
Get real! both candidates shred the Constitution, Romney is just as liberal as Obama, either way we vote, we lose, one consolation is A democrat will be in office when everything starts to crumble, and guess what? Blaming George Bush WILL NOT work.

Ron Paul had the solution, but powerful rich bastards behind the scenes knew this fact.
They feared Ron Paul, and made him out to look like some nut job talking about America’s Government Owners Manuel, known as the Constitution. Welfare cheats, (corporate neocons & liberal minded parasites) love the wealth generated by this document, but hate the rules they would have to play by, so they love BIG government so they can dictate our road to slavery.
True Conservatives want a constitutionally restricted Government, with the LIBERTY to pursue happiness.
Young people are energized with Ron Paul’s message, something that does not happen with anyone else.

    • CJ

KG, if you’re going to quote JFK, maybe you should abide with: “ask not what your country can do for, ask what you can do for your country.” Obama has presented plans, but his actions dictate he has no intention of honoring them. A wise man judges by actions, not by words, and Obama’s actions have shown nothing but contempt for everything the US stands for. To claim otherwise indicates you’re not paying serious attention.

      • eddie47d

Just what is it that Democrats aren’t honoring or not doing to service this country? What have the Republicans done to bolster our standing in the world or to help our economy?

      • janet

        And…what exactly are those ‘actions’??

  • Harold Olsen

I never pay any attention to the political experts who predict how an election is going to come out. They seldom, if ever, actually give an expert opinion. What they usually do is state what they hope will happen. I’ve noticed that their “expert” opinion always favors the party they associate themselves with. They’re like the expert witnesses at a criminal trial. There expertise always favor the side that is paying them. If the other side were paying them, with the same evidence, their expertise would favor that side. If I were on a jury, I don’t think I’d pay any more attention to evidence given by expert witnesses than I would to political experts. So-called experts are a waste of time and money.

    • eddie47d

Well said Harold and keep questioning the motives of those on the left and the right and who is behind the predictions. Self serving forecasts are like the weather and ever changing. .

        it wasn’t to be

The game was rigged, the winner was picked by those that run the world. M. Rommney was a loss from the beginning — the only sane choice was Ron Paul and they made sure he never won.

As I said when Mr Root made his prediction of a Rommy landslide:

Yes it will be, but evil team Obama will cheat to win — Team Obama cheated magnificently.

If the RINOs had any cajones they would insist on challenging the vote count in every state in which there were Samalis voting, Voting machine errors, court approved observers refused entry, Voter ID denied. Voters discovering they had already voted absentee, military ballots denied, and a miriad of other irregularities any one of which is sufficient to challenge the outcome of the election. If the 0′bomb supporters wish to riot, BRING ‘EM ON. If the RINOs refused to recognize the delegates to the electoral college we could get a redo on this fraudulent election. That is one of the purposes of having an electoral college. ie to insure that the delegates to the college represent the voters of the district from which they came. In states that have a winner take all rulle for the delegates, it works two ways, One delegate disqualified then all delegates disqualified.

HI Mr Wayne Allyn R, My prediction was natural, I dont know if you believe me.I was born with this gift, anytime i predict something it came true.4 people knows about this-My grandfather father, uncle, and wife.I told people that OBAMA will win.

      • Sailor

Stalin once said, Let them vote for the winning elections are not based on how many will vote, but by those who will be counting those votes.

Enough said. This [expletive deleted] got back in the exact same way!

I live in the conservative midwest and the most conservative part of our state and i knew just from how the people talked that for one there was NO enthusiasm for Romney or Ryan. They all did not want Obama re-elected but were not looking forward to a Romney presidency.Even the latinos did not like Obama but distrusted Romney and the Republican party even more. The republican party does not communicate with the go to work regular guy and talks over his head with what appears to be directed to the business man and ceo.The only reason the state i live in always votes republican is because our local politicians are ones who talk to the regular guy and of course the old logic we would vote for the devil if he ran as a republican.Keep a eye on our new congressman Tim Hueslskamp as he came from a hard working farm family and walks the talk…..

      • eddie47d

Libertarians for the most part embrace choice AND personal responsibility. Republicans on the other hand doesn’t embrace personal choices but want to tell people what to do within their personal lives. Such as abortion or if you aren’t a Christian you are un American. There is a problem with being TOO Conservative and it bites Republicans at every election. The Conservatives say they are against any reason for abortion so they are willing to sacrifice a woman’s life for those beliefs. The case in Ireland proves that out and the extrtemists in America hold those same views. The doctors in Ireland by law could have saved this woman’s life but they were so fearful in what the Conservatives would do to them (take away their right to practice) so she was allowed to die. Republicans go to these extremes such as the case in Gilbert Arizona where a Republican woman was so mad at her husband for not voting for Romney (he didn’t vote at all) that she tracked him down in a parking lot and ran him over. Republicans are mean, vicious and out of control when they lose and have their own band of bullies and sore losers.

      • Robert Smith

Eddie says: “Republicans are mean, vicious and out of control when they lose and have their own band of bullies and sore losers.”

They will fight to the last drop of someone else’s blood for their beliefs.

When is the last time you EVER heard of a Republican sacrificing themselves?

When communists get the power they don’t release it. Their slogan: THE END JUSTIFIES THE WAYS! Fraude, lies, manipulation, etc, etc. Nothing is transparent in this POTUS. Next, the Constitution will be changed and no more elections, FINISH!
ROMNEY DID NOT LOST! AMERICA LOST! FREEDOM LOST!

      • Rose

Unchallenged and real voter fraud is the main reason Obama was re-elected. If we do not fix this problem with voter ID, do not expect to ever see another Reagan in the White House. I recommend you see the following article (http://frontporchpolitics.com/2012/11/22-signs-that-voter-fraud-is-wildly-out-of-control-and-the-election-was-a-sham/#disqus_thread) and educate yourself on what happened. Obama’s illegal voter fraud will be hard to beat regardless of any candidate for our side.

      • Kinetic1

        Rose,
Yours is a popular theory and this is quite an interesting article. Let’s take a closer look.
        1) There’s little reason to question this assertion. Those electronic voting machines are anything but dependable.
        2) “In a city with 1,687 of the ward subsets known as divisions, each with hundreds of voters, 59 is about 3.5 percent of the total.” “Although voter registration lists, which often contain outdated information, show 12 Republicans live in the ward’s third division, The Inquirer was unable to find any of them by calling or visiting their homes.”
You know, there were rural precincts in Utah where Romney got all the votes. Should we look into that as well?
        3) “You know I was told that 90 percent of the precincts in Philadelphia County turned out over 90 percent of voters,” said Smith, of Jefferson County.” And since overall turnout in Phily was about 60%, Republican House Speaker Sam Smith’s math just doesn’t work.
        4) WND, World Net Daily, really?
        5) Romney won most of the counties in PA but still lost. Well, the right 13 states will take you over the 270 mark, so… Romney won the small counties, Obama took the cities.
6,7,8,9,10 all rehashing the same claims.
        11) The figures here come from the “Plain Dealer analysis of Ohio Secretary of State and U.S. Census Bureau data.” The census data is from 2011, and we have no way of knowing how the “plain dealer” came up with their numbers. What we do know is that only 58% of registered voters went to the polls in Wood County. And …. what was the point?

And it goes on and on and on. I’m bored with finding the facts that rebuff the rumors. How about next time you do the work before you post.

      • TeaParty Patriot (TPP)

Wayne neglected the major component of winning this election VOTER FRAUD. as Stalin once said and I paraphrase “it is not who votes, It is WHO COUNTS THE VOTES”.

Walter, I wanted Romeny to win, because he would have better than Obama, who has done nothing in the last 4 rears. He has enjoyed a lot of traveling with his wife/friends. He is not a leader and has no business experience nor foreign affairs exp. But he is very good are creating government programs, which many poor uneducated people think they are ebtitled to. Obama is also good at hiding the truth (lying) which bring us to Benghazi. Romney stayed away from the problem, instead of insisting the situatio be investigated. I don’t believe that choosing Rubio would have made a difference. The GOP needs to stay away from women’s issues (i.e. birth control amn the like). This is not my parents generation. Today, the lifestyle of the young is quite different than when I grew up. People don’t want to make commitments, this is why there are so many broken families. GOP needs to find strategics that would attract all voters…not just the white males. e schmitt

Obama’s re-election was assured when Root wrote that idiotic, self-serving article about Obama not being at Columbia. Keep writing Wayne. We need to keep Democrats in power for a few more years. The Democrats would now hold the House as well but for gerrymandering in the states that went Republican in 2010. Republicans now hold 13 of 18 House seats in Pennsylvania where Obama won by 5 points and the Dems won the Senate seat by 8 points. Republicans win elections on fear, disenfranchisement, and gerrymandering.

      • Texas Ride

Jeff, progressive radicals win because of things like getting 100% of the votes in 59 precincts in PA!

Anyone believe that there was massave voter fraud?

      • James Andrews

Obama won because he got the sheep to believe his lies. He doesn’t have a clue about economic policy, is dangerous for our national security, and is EXTREMELY dangerous four our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. No other president in history has beaten uo the Constitution as badly as this president has, not even Bush. God help us all, because there may not even be a U.S. four years from now!

      • Kinetic1

        Texas,
Funny that you, of all people should bring this up. Assuming your name reflects your local, are you aware that in King County, Texas Romney won 97% of the vote? !35 to 5. Why is that? Is it a case of voter fraud? Maybe it’s a simple case of a county dominated by white conservatives.

Now look at those precincts in PA. Black and Black/Hispanic. And what have Republicans done to court the black vote? How much damage has been done by right wing talking heads who have spent the last 4 years accusing Obama of fraud, dishonesty, sexual deviancy, laziness and stupidity? Now, is it so hard to imagine that no one in a predominantly black community would come out and vote for the Republican?

      • Jordan48

The answer to your question Mr. Root is; Criminal Complicity in wide spread VOTER FRAUD by advocates for Obamanation! The DemonCrats fought against instituting a reuirement for Voter ID at the polls in many states. This enabled the fraudulent vote of many voters who voted multiple times. (Several news releases recounted videoed reports of DemonCrats showing voters how to vote multiple times in different precincts. The integrity of the electoral process is grievously lacking and can be manipulated, as it was in this recent election!

It matters not who or how many votes are submitted, but the machinery that counts those votes! The dumbed down left wing Obamabots fail to understand ONE IMPORTANT FACT…American patriots are not Islamic, nor are they communists…for our forefathers took up arms to rid this country of evil men once and they will most assuredly will do it again! I do not advocate the death of any man, no matter how immoral or despotic he or she may be, but there are those who love this nation and their freedoms so much that it is highly probable that we will see a second civil war in this nation! Try taking our rights from us and you will seal your own fate! That is a gurantee!

    • Robert Smith

Americans simply believe that Obama is the right man for the job at this time.

      It’s simple.

      Rob

      • CJ

No Rob, the majority made a childish decision for themselves at the expense of others, under government force. The mature decision (what grown-ups make) would have been to face reality (not kick the can farther down the road) and correct the problem before it gets worse. Instead, the chose to make it worse.

      • James Andrews

To Texas Rider: I’m sure there was a lot of voter fraud, but I bet Owebummer still would havbe won. This is truly sad. This nation is doomed to fail.

      • eddie47d

When is CJ going to make a “grown up” decision and face the real reasons our economy tanked. Neither Democrats or Republicans were very mature about those failures and Romney was as phony as a three dollar bill. Republicans are also guilty of kicking the can down the road.

      • JDL

Fine. Now explain 109% of the vote in Ohio. Go ahead, show me.

      • Texas Ride

NO, Robert, working Americans do not believe that omaumau does a good job!

Anyone that isn’t mentally retarded knows what is happening. Companies are closing and laying off employees, there is increasing unemployment, increasing and unsustainable benefits to an ever-increasing, useless segment of population (notice I didn’t say, segment of Americans.) Lets add devaluation of the dollar, the financial support of terrorists and throwing the Constitution in the trash bin. There has been an absolutely obvious attempt to bring about the demise of this country and the implementation of Agenda 21. Go to the UN website and read it, it is all there proudly posted for anyone to read.

Of course, you brought up racism, but does the black population, which you seem so concerned about, considered what will happen to them when the trough dries up! Those in the public housing will be among the first to expire, along with the sick, elderly and the handicapped! And for your information, Our EUROPEAN ancestors were the ones that made this country prosperous, free, and successful. Name me one country that is governed by blacks where the people are prosperous and free!

Omaumau has taken racism back decades and he fans the flames of racism at every opportunity. He divides the country and people like you embrace it. People have never been guaranteed anything for free…except liberty and freedom. And, we have found out that isn’t free, it has to be fought for everyday. Our country wasn’t built on the socialism of retros.

The amazing thing is that retros only want socialism for everyone else, they don’t want their lifestyles lowered! Retros want obamacare “for everyone else” but they exempt themselves! Funny but the envious people mistakenly believe that their lives will be improved if the State owns everything and the radicals win. They think that all their goodies will increase! They couldn’t be more mistaken! Everyone will be much worse off and those that won’t work will have the greatest surprise. There won’t be anyone there to pay for feeding them….and the State sure won’t do it..

      • Robert Bell

Rob, contrary to what some folks wrote, you are correct. Between the TeaBaggers and racial slurs, the overtly “Christian front” and the fact that GW did release a plague upon the land, as he left office, would sort of show why. Plus what about Romney himself? Flip flop around the clock. He never came out with a solid, provable and worthwhile agenda. It was just knock Obama blah bla blah. Then should we talk about the Koch Bros? Or Citizens United? People aren’t stupid and many, once they realize these Big Money folks were only out for “Them” and not the country the election took a whole new direction. But the party has to clear it head and say (and do) what the people want than to say what they alone think the people want in order to get future candidates elected. Many of our “leaders” are out of touch and totally distended from the real world and working class people.

      • bob666

Very well said, could it be that Romney lost because he was not the right guy for the time? It could also be that people are far smarter than the GOP gives them credit for. Regardless, Romney lost and you can spin the half truths as to why or you can learn something valuble from this loss-Your choice.

    • Christopher Bowen

And here I was thinking the reason Romney lost was because of all the ballot box stuffing that occurred in Pennsylvania and Ohio where Obama received 98-99% of the vote TOTALS in literally 100′s of precincts. Ya never know what you can learn from naive bloggers, afterall.

“Worst economy of our lifetimes.” Much of the electorate blames Bush et al for their economic misery. They are still miserable so they still blame Bush not Obama. Since they don’t understand what it takes to stimulate job growth they made the (false) assumption that Obama is doing a good job.

Two examples of the many ways people misunderstand job creation:

One is the belief that “shovel ready” infrastructure projects are great job creators. Next time you see a highway being built, notice that much of the money is going to materials and heavy equipment (equipment that is already built). Not a lot of people getting paid, on the jobsite or off.

Next example. The areas of the country that are doing so well because of oil and gas owe their prosperity largely to Bush. Just before he left office, he exempted much of that industry from review by environmental bureaucrats. This allowed the industry to get moving and hiring.

With regards to the “worst economy of our lifetimes. The economic disaster really got a boost during Clinton. An attempt to regulate derivatives was killed off by the Clinton administration, Larry Summers et al, (same clowns advised Obama). That decision was the beginning of the financial catastrophe we are still living through. After that came Bush the Spender, making matters worse. Then came Obama, that man who had never run anything in his life (except his mouth).

People get the government they deserve. If idiots vote, idiots get elected.

I’m in agreement with Tea Party patriot. Mr. Root’s comments about GOP candidates who mention rape and abortion in the same sentence ought to be tied up and put in the basement is UNFORGIVEABLE! It demonstrates a proclivity to do the convenient, anything to win, rather than stand by one’s principles, win or lose. That is not to say that I agreed with Akin and the other GOP guy that made stupid statements about rape and abortion, but the way GOP leaders pulled the rug out from under them, handed the victory to their radical left opponents in both cases. Why do Boehner and Cantor RUN from Tea Party candidates in favor of radical leftists????? Interesting to note the story about Cantor covering for the dems on Benghazi. It certainly says a lot about the WAR going on in our own party for the soul of our country! The two cowards at the top of the GOP house, have done as much destruction to our electoral process as Obama, by refusing to challenge the results of the obviously rigged elections and forcing Mitt and Paul (for vindictive reasons??? “I told you you shouldn’t have two conservatives running together”) TO CONCEDE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY! MITT AND PAUL MUST TAKE THEIR RIGHTFUL PLACES IN THE WHITE HOUSE AND SEND OBAMA AND THE OTHER CORRUPTOCRATS PACKING!

Its not what went wrong, its what went Right. Reasonable americans don’t blame President Obama for the economic collapse of capitalism, they blame the real “Takers ” in this country, corporate bankers and wallstreet crimminals, who really did cause the mess. If you would put even half the effort into fixing the real problem and hold those responsible to the same standard you hold the guy left to clean up the mess, and stop gambling away other peoples savings…

      • Joe America

We all need to remember that the Fed, their foreign bank owners, Wall Street and the Insurance industry screwed the financial pooch for all of us. They all screwed us. Until they are gotten under control, it doesn’t matter who’s the President, or Congressperson, or Senator. There was a quiet financial banking coupe in 1913 that resulted in the creation of the Federal Reserve Banks and the IRS. We’ve been going down the toilet, financially, every since. These entities control our elected officials. They decide who our elected officials are going to be, not us. I’m actually looking forward to an earth wide disaster of Biblical proportions, because that is the only thing that will take these folks down. It’s gone on so long, that it’s out of the hands of the people. We’re beyond hope. The fact that Ron Paul has been ineffective in reaching people is not his fault, it’s ours, because we’ve refused to listen to our modern day prophet and have rejected him, just as surely as the ancient Isrealies and House of Judah rejected the prophets of God. Just as they suffered, so shall we, but worse. I’ve often wondered if we are in the “end times” as many of the things that are happening now, were prophesied in the Books of Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaah and Revelations. We are moving ever closer to a one world government and this is what the NWO has been planning all along. They are the beast. Soon, you won’t have any cash, and you’ll have to get a “mark” in order to buy or sell, as everything, all commerce, will be cashless and moving through the Internet(s). The international bankers will own everyone in the system. If you piss them off, they’ll simply turn your connection to the system off. You won’t be able to buy, or sell anything. George Orwell’s 1984 will have become reality.
