Man, 79, Chases After Suspect

NEW YORK, (UPI) – A 79-year-old New York man helped police capture a shoplifting suspect by chasing after the man until he dropped a piece of paper bearing his name and address.
James Marr, who said he runs “obsessively” in Central Park six days a week, said he spotted a Duane Reade worker chasing after a man “with a full laundry bag” Oct. 4 while yelling “stop thief,” the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.
Marr said he noticed the worker was losing ground, so he joined the chase until the suspect dropped a piece of paper.
“This was the dumbest thief ever invented,” Marr said. “Out falls this piece of paper and it’s a court document with his name and address on it.”
Trevor Frasca, 27, was soon arrested and charged with obstruction of governmental administration, possession of stolen property, petit larceny and resisting arrest.
