Alabama Lawmaker Wants To Ban U.N. Observers

Alabama Lawmaker Wants To Ban U.N. Observers

Want proof that America has sunk to the level of a Third World banana republic? Four words: United Nations election observers.

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), a U.N.-affiliated agency, will be observing the Nov. 6 U.S. election for election fraud and voter suppression. It will be on hand at the request of the NAACP, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and other liberal organizations. The observers come from such bastions of free and fair elections as Serbia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. OSCE has assessed elections in the United States since 2002. It somehow missed those Black Panthers guarding the doors in Pennsylvania in 2008.

The States of Missouri, South Dakota, North Dakota and New Mexico explicitly allow for international observers. Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard wants to make sure Alabama does not. Hubbard says he will push for future legislation to ban non-U.S. citizens from acting as poll watchers.

U.S. election laws already allow multiple parties — some affiliated with candidates and others who are part of interested groups — to observe the election process. One of those is True the Vote, a conservative, Tea Party-affiliated group. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, ACLU and Leadership Conference could monitor them as well. Of course, when you have a racist and highly partisan U.S. Attorney General like Eric Holder, it doesn’t matter how much fraud is uncovered. It’ll just get ignored when it doesn’t fit his agenda.

Foreign observers are redundant and unnecessary. The George W. Bush/Al Gore election of 2000 showed that the United States is perfectly capable of botching the election process on its own. It doesn’t need U.N. observers bringing their “botching” expertise into the mix.

WARSAW, 24 October – Ambassador Janez Lenarčič, the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), expressed his grave concern today over the threat of criminal prosecution of OSCE/ODIHR election observers.

This threat, contained in an open letter from the Attorney General of Texas, is at odds with the established good co-operation between OSCE/ODIHR observers and state authorities across the United States, including in Texas, Lenarčič said, adding that it is also contrary to the country’s obligations as an OSCE participating State.

The ODIHR Director shared his concerns in a letter to United States Secretary of State Hilary Clinton.

“The threat of criminal sanctions against OSCE/ODIHR observers is unacceptable,” Lenarčič said. “The United States, like all countries in the OSCE, has an obligation to invite ODIHR observers to observe its elections.”

We’re such hypocrits. We demand that others are held accountable and that the rule of law as provided for in our treaties with the UN apply to everyone else but not ourselves. Ridiculous! Ignorant! Foolish!

    • Karolyn

Son’t you know the US is above anything that other countries participate in because it is so special and should be exempt from dong what other cooperative countries do.

      • Karolyn

        “Don’t”

Why do you keep saying the same thing over and over again, Timothy? Are you trying to train the readers like parrots? Look into Timothy’s eyes, Folks. You are getting sleepy. Nah, you’re just bored with his repetitive inane comments.

    • DaveH

Timothy says — “We’re such hypocrits”. And then “Ridiculous! Ignorant! Foolish!”.
You must be quite the threat on the playground, Timothy.

The question is what authority the OSCE has to do anything other than whine to the NYT-Wapo cartel and to whom are they responsible? The answers are that they have no power and they answer to no one.

  • Alex

The United States has sent election observers to various world locations to monitor for
unfair or illegal voting practices. There is clearly need for foreign observers here, after the 2000 and 2004 elections, the ACORN problems, and now, the spreading large-scale
multi-state voter fraud scandal by Nathan Sproul andthe GOP financed Strategic Allied Consultants.

Add on top of that the fact that the son of Mitt Romney owns voting machines in several states, perhaps most importantly in Ohio.

You Fright Wingers are such hypocrites—-if a relative of President Obama purchased voting machines for THIS election, you would be beside yourselves with judgement—why
are so few of you unwilling to call out the very obviously inappropriateness of Romney’s
    action?

President Obama will still be reelected, that seems pretty clear—-and thank God, THIS time, for the Electoral College, which should prevent Mitt from usurping the White House.
If President Obama does not win then you can bet that Nathan Sproul and SAC, along with the Tagg Romney voting machines will become a much bigger issue than they are at the
    moment.

This election may well take longer to sort out than the Bush Regime election theft of 2000.

    • Viet Nam Vet 67-68

ALEX, your Party second election Bush Jr., your Democrat head election official was caught with voting machines in his car just after he and his second in charge was asked if they knew whwere these machines were !!!! This was in Florida where you DemoRATS claimed Bush was cheating. You DemoRATS also got caught in Severasl Counties in the Chicago area where more dead people voted than the county had voters and you now have Acorn still being supported by Abomination and funded by Abomination so take your New Communist Party and your Piece of Crap Marxist Muslim President who wipes his ass with his left hand and move to a Communist or Muslim Country of your choice and take the United Corrupt Nations with you.

I am a doctor and you have a very twisted view of the world you live in. President that sends 4 Americans into death and lies about it; bows down to the worst of dictators during his first tour through middle east; the biggest spender the world has ever known (of none less than your money – that is if you work, which could as well be utopia), but wants to cut down on military; drives us into the ground economically; had black panthers in PA in 2008; does not allow you to look into his school records; wants to take from the ” rich” aka hard working people to give to illegals, since he has done nothing about the immigration issues other than given amnesty to illegals – an illegal act in itself, right before the elections… so he can get Hispanic vote . Country drowning in debt, but he has played over 100 rounds of golf so far in 4 years. Has a solution to make women equal.. give them contraceptive pill.
Something, somehow made you believe, that for the first time in his life, he won’t cheat.. and that is… none less than… ELECTIONS.
Please tell me the area where you live. I know some doctors that could maybe help you.

      • Karolyn

What does your being a doctor have to do with anything?

Don’t worry, Doc. The progressive may not have fully explained how ObamaCare will make everything wonderful.

To Alex, you are a idiot and a communist who hates America, supporting and standing up for obama, who has done so much damage to our country with his failed policies. obama is bowing down to the UN and wants to hand over our sovereign to the UN, that is not acceptable. Moron!!!

  • James Maxwell

This is almost as bad as Jimmy “Peanut” Carter observing elections in other coutnries. Just
more of the dysfunctional socialist mentality in operation. To allow such countries as
the UN reprsents into observe our eleciton process is foolish at best. The majority of
the nations represented by this organization are corrupt and thier citizens do not have
access to fair elections or freedom to pursue thier dreams in life. The are subjucated
to the whims of the tin pot dictators that rule their countries. This is nothing more than
one more socialist scam trying to sway and influence our election to “help” their socialist
brother in the White House win the election. If they show up in my area they might get
a unplesant suprise by the residents. I have a strong suspission that the same might
apply in most states although if they show up in Chicago the new black muslim thugs
might welcome them with open night sticks.

  • Lorene

They are coming to suppress those who are working to suppress voter fraud

    It’s a sick world!

    • NVRAT

They are coming to make sure Conservatives are not harassing voters. At least that is what I read on another site. Nothing was said about Black Panthers, ACORN or other Liberal movements to intimidate and restrict the voting process.

      • MD

“Nothing was said about Black Panthers, ACORN or other Liberal movements to intimidate and restrict the voting process”. Which site is this? Communist News Network? Have you ever seen pictures of black panthers armed and not allowing whites to vote? Have you ever read that ACORN had dead people voting? Left and communists are cheaters throughout the world! That is their second nature. My friend caught them in 2008 listing her mother as a democrat voter, and the woman died in 1998.
When the picture of your surrounding gets this twisted, you are leaning toward schizophrenia.

    • Nadzieja Batki

Who are “they” claiming are suppressing votes.
It only means that the Dems/Progs/Leftists are doing the suppressing and then crying foul.

      • carrobin

It’s the Republicans who have been trying to change the voting rules to make voting harder (if not impossible) for Democratic voters. It’s a right-wing company that made the Ohio voting machines that produced far more Republican votes in 2004 than expected, but had no paper trail. And now Romney’s son has gotten into the game. Why is it that voting machines, becoming more and more common now, are not required to be checked for accuracy and to have paper trails for follow-up inquiry? While howling about “voter fraud” that never happened, the Republicans are actively trying to prevent anyone from voting anything but Republican. It’s a sinister situation that could well destroy the democratic system in this country, as ultra-wealthy Republicans take over the government for their own ends.

  • jimkroeger

I say…buy the U.N. a one way ticket back to their third world country!!! Get the HELL out of America!!!

      • Barbara

Start by not paying the yearly dues for the countries who do not pay their dues. Any country that does not pay their yearly dues has their voting rights taken away. That is in the UN charter.

      • Karolyn

Sasquatch – So glad you are just a myth.

    • NVRAT

I agree! kick the corrupt bastards out. then get out of the UN permanently.

    • Isabella

i ask the same think. Move the UN. where they belong. Bunch of communists and thiefs.

  • JohnC

We do not need the UN observing ANY elections in the US but we do need our own election observers being allowed in to observe votes…In Philadelpia there was av video, evidence where a poll watcher was denied access to a polling place by a democrat poll worker …he never did gain access even though he had the right to do so …the police did not enforce the law he had to leave what happend in that polling place…was voter fraud …another video showed New Black panter memebers standing ouside a Pfhiladelpha polling place with a night stick …he was preventing republicans from voting…It was never investigated by Eric Holder …another incident of voter fraud…what we need is a national guard presence patrol at every voting place to prevent this from happening again. and the removal of anyone trying to prevent people from entering to cast their vote

    • eddie47d

I knew it wouldn’t be long before someone brought up the NBPs. No voter intimadation occurred,no “republicans” where denied the right to vote(nice but false try on your part) The situation WAS investigated but you can’t punish anyone when a crime wasn’t committed. You have to have actual fraud in order for there to be “voter fraud”.

      • JohnC

I have copies of the video

      • JohnC

I made copies of both videos just in case they were to dissappear from the internet ..the incidents happend in Pennsylvania and were aired on the News in that state …As I lived there
saw them both live and online

      • kaokie

What does a picture of two NBP’s holding a wood version of a bat, standing in front of a sign that says ‘vote here’, tell you? They wanted a cup of tea? The faux atty. general Eric “My People” Holder said he wasn’t going to prosecute – BHO backed him up – end of story.

    • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

We observe elections via the UN worldwide. We demand, basically, access to states where there is or was the potential for election fraud. Is it not wrong, arrogant and just plain stupid of us to demand that others follow the rule of law and the treaites to which we are signatories, but that those same rules don’t apply to the USA? That’s just crazy. It makes us look foolish.

      • JohnC

Tim we do not need the UN in our country to observe our elections they have no legitimate purpose doing anything within our borders and are not Authorized to do so under our constituion … they were never elected by our people and do not represent us as far as I am Concerned the UN should be disbanded ..they are the cause of many conflicts in the world …witness Libya and the illegal air war in support of the Muslim brothehood there…causeing the murder of Gadhaffi ( executed without a trial ) and you spout to me there legitimacy…we helped terrorist take over Libya…for what…so that France would not loose its Libyan Oil supply

      • CJM2

The United States NEVER gave the UN any sort of permission–they don’t need to be here, period. We have OUR laws and are not bound by whatever the UN says or does and American citizens intend to keep it that way. The majority of Americans want us out of the UN and banned from conducting business in this country. If you wish to reside in a country that “cooperates to the fullest” with the UN, then by all means, the world doesn’t stop at our borders–go join them.

  • Tim Williamson

We send election observers from the US, US citizens, via the UN, all around the world. Do you think that it’s hypocritical of us to deny requests by minorities who feel as if their concerns about the election process cannot be addressed in certain states? Yes! It is not only hypocritcal, it’s ignorant. We, as in us in the USA, do work to ensure that elections are fair, open and honest around the world through the UN now and serve as election observers worldwide. Are you telling me that is alright for us to observe elections in other states, but how dare they come and watch our elections in areas where there is potential for abuse? Such a thing is non-sense and arrogant and hypocritcal.

The UN is not leaving. We created it. We made it, and we have been signatories to UN treaties since 1947. So the UN is not going away.

Since we are NOT getting out of the UN, then maybe we should push the US to allow elections of our representatives to the General Assembly of the UN. And since the Security Council makes decisions for the entire world, have any of you called and talked with any of those UN Missions from England, France, the US, Russia or China? They do make decisions that affect the entire planet. Should they not hear from us.

We’re NOT getting out. Our ties are only growing stronger. Since we’re staying in the UN, what suggestions do you have to fix it?

Hubbard is wrong on this issue. It tells the world that we want them to abide by the rules, the rule of law and the treaties to which we are signatories, but we don’t want those rules applied to us. That is the height of ignorance, arrogance and follishness.

    • JohnC

Just like the UN sanctioned an Illegal air war aginst the state of Libya which resulted in the death of Gadaffi ( executed without a trial ) tell me about the rightgeous UN again….. they are hypocrits …the war against Libya was for the OIl France needed….and had a major stake in…..Now its controlled by the mMuslim brotherhood …who thru their affiliation with Al-Queda and Hesballah killed our Ambassador

      • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

The war in Libya was not illegal. It was sanctioned by unanimous approval of the UN Security Council of which the USA is part.

      • JohnC

The air war was never approved of by Congress ( that is illegal ) against the war powers act and our constituion

      • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

John we gave the UN the authority to require our action for these events in 1947 when we signed the UN treaty.
We’re not going to get out of the UN. The entire world is becoming smaller and smaller day by day. The rules we expect others to follow should also apply to us.
The accelerating inter-dependence of one state upon another will not reverse. Stickling our heads in the sand will only get our butts burnt.
So now we must work to make the UN more reflective of our values. One way would be to push our government to allow direct elections of our representatives to the UN.

      • Chester

Mr. Khadaffi’s death was NOT a direct result of any action by the US, or any other foreign power, but at the hands of his OWN people. All we did was make it possible for them to speak to him without fear of being executed where they stood.

    • Viet Nam Vet 67-68

Tim like Unions the United Corrupt Nations has seen its day and we Americans no longer want or Need IT. Let’s start fixing this Country and SCREW the REST of the Worthless Radical Anti American Nations. Thanks for your service. I served in the US military in the Navy and in the Marines and my son is on his second tour of duty in a predator squadron, a son-n-law going to Afghanistan in January, So! Thanks!
Since getting rid of the UN is NOT going to happen, then would it not be wise to pursue actions that move the UN more toward our values. Global connections are not going to reverse, but are rather going to accelerate as we need more interaction with the UN and the rest of the world.
Let’s work instead to get our government to allow for direct elections of our representatives to the UN.

  • http://personalliberty.com ken

maybe the people of the USA needs to tell the UN to get the hell out of our country we take care of our self’s and after that we go to NY city to the UN building and tell every one there leave now or else and you know what that mean and then to every other UN place in the USA and do the same thing and stop give tax payers money to all country’s it should all stay here in the USA for the people of the USA the hell with the other country’s

    • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

Not going to happen. We made it. We created it. We promoted it to the world. Today, our world is getting smaller day by day. Our interconnections and co-dependence with all the other states of the world is accelerating daily and what happens in one has a direct impact on others.
      So we’re not getting out.
Let’s work instead to make it better. Let’s work to get all states to allow direct elections of our UN representatives to the General Assembly and to the Security Council.

      • S.C.Murf

In 47 our evil, corrupt leaders created the UN for the sole purpose of a one world order that satan will eventually rule. Is this what you want TW ? As for me and mine, we serve the Lord Jesus and we want no part of the evil UN. TIME to stop the funding and get out.

      • http://www.gov-truth.com Ed

Ok Tomothy, we can see that you have been sold on the one world government idea, and believe that the UN is here to stay. But you really should accept that there are many out there who disagree with you. The UN was created as a replacement for the failing League of Nations as a stage on which nations could air their problems with other nations. It was NOT created to issue orders, nor tax, and certainly NOT to supercede our Congress as you suggest so please stop saying that we created it to tell the world what to do, and then don’t follow its dictates. Our entry into Libya was entirely illegal, as no Congressional discussion or authority was obtained. The UN has absolutely NO authority in this country – to accept such an authority is to relinquish our sovereignty and I for one hope that never happens.

      • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

Treaties are the law of the land according to the constitution. Therefore, to say that the UN, a treaty created organization, to which nearly every nation on earth is a signatory, can not require us to act is simply wrong. The part of the UN treaty that gives the Security Council the authority to act globally is one of the main parts and when there is unanimous action from all the members of the security conuncil, we are required to act by that treaty to which congress agreed in 1947. That treaty, and its acceptance by congress and the president in 1947 says that when there is a unanimous decision for specifc action, then all the members are required to act accordingly.

        Legal. Constitutional. And morally correct.

Besides, who are we to ask the rest of the world to abide by the treaties to which all are signatories, but not apply that accountability to ourselves. It’s hypocritcal. It’s arrogant. It’s not logical.

So let’s work to get our own government to allow direct public elections for representatives to the UN so that we the people may have a more direct voice in the UN.

      • CJM2

Don’t bet on it, Timothy Wilson…we do NOT need the UN at our voting booths and we do NOT need the UN to dictate to America, period. They need to leave our country and let them bleed some other nation dry…we have given more than our fair share and all those bloated goats want is more. The only reason they are here in the first place is because the hate monering racist groups have demanded it–just to make themselves look good, I suppose. NAACP and the ilk didn’t like it when the MAJORITY of Americans demanded criminal charges be processed against the black panthers when they threatened elderly white citizens with baseball bats at the voting places. Really? this is your idea of expanding justice? Thanks for your time in the service, but my family served as well and they didn’t die so some funky, anti-American slop could come over here and interrupt our voting process—it’s enough that the so-called incumbent is bent on keeping honest service personnel from having their right to vote completely eradicated.

      • Janice

Tim…Thank you for your thorough, rational & accurate comments. Amid a flood of hysterical, misinformed posts…a breath if fresh air. Pls continue.

      • Karolyn

We may not “need” the UN observers, but what difference does it make if they’re there? Who really cares? Making mountains ot of molehills is what too many people do.

  • MV Jim

On its face, Bob’s story doesn’t explain what we are supposed to worry about! If this group has been here for so long, surely there is evidence of their “wrongdoing.” On the other hand, what if they in fact caught people voting for dead people, or voting twice, or trying to keep registered voters from voting?

    • DaveH

Just US Sovereignty. Now you want, instead of a bunch of US losers meddling with our lives, a bunch of International losers meddling with our lives?

    • JC

Don’t buy into the lie Jim. The UN has NO business in the United States of America…NONE. We are supposed to be a people of noble integrity.
We are in fact, a Constitutional Republic and a sovereign entity. They have no business here, and according the the Constitution, we have no business involving ourselves in foreign entanglements. We need to get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.

      • DaveH

And keep in mind that the UN was created By Leaders For Leaders. The average citizens have no vote in the matter of UN elections. Imagine that — an Un-elected body of UN Leaders overseeing the American peoples’ elections.

    • Nadzieja Batki

It is still not any of the UN’s business. We are a sovereign nation. Once this baloney starts we will never get them out of their meddling. First rule: Do not let them start!

      • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

Tell me something, since we, as in the USA, do send election observers around the world via the UN, ans since we push those states to abide by the rule of law and the treaties to which we are signatories, is it not childish, foolish, arrogant, and just plain stupid to not allow those same rules to be applied here?

      • DaveH

You have a point, Timothy, but it is fatally flawed and unfortunately is a common event among average humans — that of “sinking to the lowest common denominator”.
Rather than allowing the Leaders to apply the same poisonous cure to us because They do it elsewhere, we need to insist that the US (through the UN) NOT meddle with the rest of the World.

      • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

The flaw in your analysis Dave is that we are a nation of law and the rule of law. The constitution gives the President the authority to make and sign treaties with the appropval of congress. In 1947, the US agreed to the UN treaty. We created it and promoted it globally. We are in it to stay.

Since we work within the UN to move the world toward more freedom and openness, for us to suggest that we want to be left alone and to not be involved on the world stage is not only childish, but crazy. We need to do business with the world in order to prosper and grow here at home. So our connections will only grow.

So, we should be pushing our government to allow for direct elections of our representatives to the UN General Assembly and to the UN Security Council. This would give us, as in the people of the USA, some direct influence within the UN bodies.

As for election observers in the USA, I have no problem with that because we can not morally demand access to other nations election processes then try to hide our own from the world. It’s morally indefensible.

We teach and promote accountability for our actions at home and abroad, should these principles not also apply to our leaders and to our country just as we expect it to do overseas?

These actions are legal and constitutional.

      • DaveH

The flaw in your analysis, Timothy, is thinking that one group of contractors can bind an uninvolved group to that contract forever.

      • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

The flaw is that many want to believe that the US is an island isolated from the world. And that we can push the application of the rule of law to all the world via the UN and its agencies, but yet not have those rules and laws apply to us here at home. That is the epitomy of hypocracy and arrogance.

We must interact with the world daily. We do that via the UN and volumes of treaties. And those treaties have the force of law as defined in our constitution.

      • DaveH

Here are more flaws in Timothy’s “logic”:
Timothy says — “Since we work within the UN to move the world toward more freedom and openness”.
Killing people so that they do things the US way is Freedom? Dream on, Timothy.

Timothy says — “for us to suggest that we want to be left alone and to not be involved on the world stage is not only childish, but crazy”.
Ah yes, the typical Progressive fallback — name-calling and ridicule in lieu of logic and facts.

Timothy says — “We need to do business with the world in order to prosper”.
No doubt that Free Trade is a good thing, but what Timothy fails to understand is that Free Trade does not involve the coercive Force of Government.

      • DaveH

Timothy says — “Sorry! But it appears you have been living in a cave of delusion. Sorry about that. Wish I could help though. The VA does have some really good programs that may help with delusional paranoia. The reast of America aren’t fooled by such non-sense”.
What makes you think, Timothy, that the “reast” of American are fooled by your nonsense?
If you had something valuable to contribute you wouldn’t need to lace your comments with Adolescent Manipulative techniques.

      • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

DaveH, do you not think it would be better to work to improve the UN? Do you not think that that is the logical thing to do since the UN is not going away?

I say let’s get our government to allow direct public elections for our representatives to the UN.

      • DaveH

Timothy says — “The flaw is that many want to believe that the US is an island isolated from the world. And that we can push the application of the rule of law to all the world via the UN and its agencies, but yet not have those rules and laws apply to us here at home. That is the epitomy of hypocracy and arrogance”.
More Adolescent Manipulative techniques. Seems, Timothy, that you can’t make a coherent argument without them.
What does World Isolation have to do with not being part of the UN?
The UN is an organization that was created BY LEADERS FOR LEADERS. It is a body of people, unelected by the citizens who it supposedly represents, that in no way represents Free Trade. The UN represents the wishes of its Leaders and their Crony Capitalists. That is all.

      • DaveH

Timothy says — “DaveH, do you not think it would be better to work to improve the UN? Do you not think that that is the logical thing to do since the UN is not going away?”.
No. The logical thing to do would be to abolish the UN, so that Leaders can’t so easily Force their way on the rest of us in their efforts to feather their own nests at the rest of our expense.

Timothy says — “I say let’s get our government to allow direct public elections for our representatives to the UN”.
Great. Let’s create a Government even further removed from the people they claim to represent than the Federal Government we already have which has trampled the Constitution, the States, and the people.
Our wise Founders knew that Local Government was the best Government because the people could much more easily control Local Government than they could Central Government. We are currently seeing the results of that which our Founders tried in vain to protect us from.

Oct 22, 2012 Ft Collins, CO. Democrats out side a polling place, breaking election laws, too close, etc. Poll judge ALLOWING it to happen. Colorado GOP goes to county DA. The Denver Post–supports Obama- has a small story on page 18(?). WTF?? We need more poll watchers with cameras, and possible involvement with National Guard. Of course at the same time, we are seeing the possibility that gov’t is interfering with our own military, being cheated out of their right to vote! All right, democrats–bring them on! After watching the silly games for over 60 years, the only fraud i have seen comes from the democrats and the crooked political machines in NYC, Chicago, Boston, etc. Kind of strange, isn’t it? All these years and never seeing or hearing of a problem from the GOP? I grant you, it could have happened and i just never heard about it, but we have HUGE numbers of verified problems with the Democrats. Seems downright strange that the ones causing the problems are the ones making the most noise, and blaming the other party. Hmm-you don’t suppose they are are paying them off? (see Chicago politics)

  • pete0097

These “observers” will probably want to go to real problem areas like Kissimmee FL (Disney World); Myrtle Beach, SC; Atlantic City, NJ; Branson Missouri; or Las Vegas. That way they can not only “do their jobs” but have a nice vacation as well all on the taxpayers dime. They wouldn’t want to go somewhere where they might actually observe a problem caused by some liberal racist or where they might.get hurt.

    • Chester

These “observers” will most likely go where ever they are assigned, which will normally be in places that seem to exhibit the greatest likelihood of voter problems. A question for all on here. Are we not expected to hold to the selfsame rules of law we want the rest of the world to abide by? Or are we allowed to do as we please simply because we are the biggest, baddest SOB on the block?

      • Nadzieja Batki

Is that what you believe about yourself that you cannot be trusted?
We have had good leaders and bad leaders in this country and the decisions they made have had unintended consequences and we are paying dearly to this day for bad decisions. Compound the decisions of the leadership throughout America’s existance and the load is getting heavier by the day.
I have yet to hear or read that the Dems or Republicans leaders admit that they have no idea how to run a country. They have gotten us from point A but what is waiting for us at point B.

  • Rockin

The U.N. wants to make sure that it gets its moneys worth. Afterall what would they do if Hillary and the UN puppet president they ahave in office actually lost the election. I wonder if vomiting I mean voting in a corrupt election just enboldens the liars and proves that you are asleep to a corrupt election to begin with.

  • Chocopot

It’s truly audacious – the word to use is “chutzpah” – that the Democrats are so ‘worried’ about voting fraud and are asking for outside help to prevent it. The Democrats, the party created in the 1840′s to perpetuate slavery, have been engaging in documented, widespread voter registration and election fraud since the 1850′s. They have honed it to a science and will be engaging in huge amounts of it come November. For those who doubt this, I suggest you begin reading some history books (as long as they are not written by the lifelong, card-carrying Communist, Howard Zinn) and checking on the Internet. Facts are a powerful tool.

    • DaveH

Actually, Chocopot, the Democrats were the party of Freedom until the late 1800s when the Progressives (who had already infiltrated the Republican Party) took them over:

Also read the books “The Real Lincoln” and “Hamilton’s Curse” by Thomas DiLorenzo.

As a side note, most of the History Books have been written by Court Historians to favor an UnConstitutionally large Central Government.

    • JC

I hear ya! But if the Dems are so worried about Americans voting…why are they doing everything they can to bar the overseas military vote? Oh yeah! Because the military has ZERO respect for the Imposter in Chief.

  • TIME

    Dear People,

Voter fraud ~ saddly that’s nothing new, ~ its been going on for over 150 years here in America ~ under the Corporation known as the “United States.”

    The UN is yet one more ARM of the Octopus many of you know as the “New World Order” ~ its really the upper level of this criminal crime syndicate as it’s near the head of this beast. ~ Non the less still it is what it is; A ~ {100% Criminal Element in all respects.}

All UN members ~ both past and present should face {“War Crimes”} trials.
Of what they are all 100% Guilty of “War Crimes against Humanity” ~ TIME after TIME ~ Need proof ~ well its quite easy to find as its all in black and white,
The United Nations has given their Consent to allow: the depravity within the Human condition to be posted in bold print.
We here in America have allowed other’s to commit crimes that are unspeakable, all in our name as well all nations who are also member’s of the United Nations thus there crimes are responsible for the “murder” of ~ Countless hundreds of Millions ~ of Children, Mothers and Fathers just like YOU.

I have no reguard for the United Nations nor should any Human who has a belief in The Christ, or in Goodness toward our fellow humans, as this criminal unit has no positive value, ~ nor probative value toward the Human condition in any way shape or form.

Perhaps to make this point clear so anyone can figure this issue out with out any form of reservations: Ask yourself this question:
Would you let the Maffia / Black Hand ~ observe such an event? Would you wish to follow the Laws / Rules of the Maffia / Black Hand?

Its your call, Complain your ass’s off. (( If you stay silent )) ~ you give “YOUR CONSENT”.

Can I make it any more simple for you all. Stop supporting a “Criminal Cabal.”

Peace and Love be with you

    • Penny R. Freeman

I’ve been complaining to Congress for quite a while about the U.N. That organization is a useless band of thieves just like the League of Nations was in their time. But our dear president and Hillary along with Billy Bob her hubby are among the many in this country who are globalists. They want one government for the entire world. Think that will work? Since most countries can’t even get two groups of their own citizens to agree on anything what are the chances that an entire world of countries with different languages, cultures, and concerns will bow to a government meant to rule this world? But that’s the push that’s on. The U.N. , with the consent of the above mentioned “leaders” of this country, are pushing for three U.N. agreements that most Americans will not like. One: An international tax, another way to achieve Obama’s redistibution of wealth. Two: U.N. control of the internet. Three: International registry of all small arms, another push by the anti-gun nuts to disarm all Americans. You know what they say, if the populace is disarmed the only people left with weapons are the government and criminals (in my opinion one and the same group). You’d better start screaming as loudly as you can if you don’t want those treaties to get signed by Obama and Hillary. Don’t believe me? Wait and see, but if you do it will be too late. Obama and Hillary have made more than one attempt at the gun registry, but the screaming public at least delayed that. Another sneak attempt by the U.N. is under way right now. Since China and Russia usually have the deciding votes in issues before the U.N., if we don’t push back NOW expect to lose that battle.

      • DaveH

        Right on, Penny.
And why do they want One World Government? It’s not for our sake, it’s for their sake. If people think it’s hard to get rid of corrupt Federal Leaders, imagine how hard it’s going to be to get rid of the Gang when they are headquartered in some remote location?
Leaders are well aware that the the further they remove Government from local, the harder it is to Fire them from their jobs.

Just saw on Foxnews that some voting machines are changing votes from Romney to Obama..voter fraud, anyone?

    • Harry Quinn

You saw this on Fox News? That proves that what you heard is a lie. Romney family controls the voting machines in Ohio. That is not a lie.

      • Fredo

Harry, I hope this article from the “The Grio” of NBC News, helps clarify this subject. What you said Harry is quite wrong and misleading. Typical liberal:

“Now, the integrity of electronic voting machines is back in the spotlight. Reports are circulating there are “dubious links” between the voting machines in some counties [Hamilton and William] in Ohio and Governor Romney.

The machines are supplied by Hart Intercivic, a national e-voting company. The Austin-based firm is partially owned by H.I.G Capital, an investment company that has business ties to Solamere Capital, Tagg Romney’s [Mitt’s oldest son] equity firm.

The suggestion is that the Romney link is at best a conflict of interest, with even the potential for bias, fraud or irregularity.

Though, Amy Searcy, director of the Hamilton County’s Board of Election, flat out disagrees. “These allegations are completely false and baseless,” she told theGrio.

“We purchased our voting equipment — developed by Hart [Intercivic] – in 2005 but it’s owned by Hamilton County,” she added. “It’s a paper-based ballet which is scanned into an optical reader. Hart doesn’t have any involvement with the ballot processing or tabulation, that’s all done by our staff.”

      • JohnC

The votes will be counted in SPAIN by a company that George Soros (a major Obama Supporter) controls you may have the machines collect the votes but the election will be won by who counts them…voter fraud anyone …or a replay of the Stalin voter process

      • Penny R. Freeman

Grow a brain. When you see it, that is the machine as it does make the change automatically, somehow I just don’t consider that a lie! Want to explain how a family from Massachusetts controls Ohio? And voter fraud that the Dems claim doesn’t exist-explain all the arrests and convictions during the 2008 election. I personally saw people pulled out of the line on election day and questioned. My suspicion, since we live just over the state line folks were attempting to vote in two states instead of one. No there’s no significant voter fraud AG Holder, that is when it all adds up in favor of the libtards.

      • Nadzieja Batki

It appears the Dems/Progs/Leftists all of a sudden have gotten sensitive and conscience struck about how big liars they have been (if any believe that they have a conscience dream on). It was fine to be treacherous and deceptive to get their own way but now the Conservatives abd Libertarians and Republicans have called them out that they are nothing more than two legged predatory wolves, all of a sudden they are all playing victims.

      • teaparty13

I’d trust Fox new over the lame-stream media anyday..why haven’t the others reported the emails Obama received about the trouble in Benghazi on Sept 11 and why didn’t he send help when our troops were only an hour flight away?

      • daniel

Hey Quinn, get your head outta the hole. The same thing has happened here in Vegas as well. The machine changed her vote from Romney to Obama multiple times. Fox had nothing to do with this report as it was in the local paper.

Folks, wake up, if we give the obummer and company another four years we will spiral downward to no remedy and will become just like all the other socialist thinking countries in the world. It’s time we rise up and let our voice be heard. No one, not acorn not the un nor any other entity has any right to oversee anything in this country. We are not governed by the world community. We have a Constitution. It’s time that we let our voice be heard and vote the bums out that want us to bow to the socialist agenda.

    • Nan

There may be truth in what TIME says: Take a look at Endtimes ministries and the studies of Irvin Baxter. The New World Order and One World Religion have been forming for the last 100 years. Ronald Reagan was aware of the National ID as the mark of the Beast (The Satan) in Revelations and prevented it from being implemented. George Bush said Islam and Christianity worshipped the same God. Not true. Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God. Muslims do not. Therefore, not the same God. Anyway, by letting the UN and other “world” organizations run our country, we are surrendering our sovereignty to the One World Order and we will be pulled down into the abyss. But if we ask for help from God, as is stated in the Bible, we will be saved from this. It’s just worth a look.

    • DaveH

Patriotism wake up. It’s not just Obama. The two major parties are really one and the same party with agendas just different enough to keep the people divided and rooting for their favorite “team”.
They are just different sides of the same Progressive Coin with Crony Capitalists teaming up with their Crony Politicians to take advantage of the rest of us. And by the “rest of us”, I am including the Poor who just aren’t informed enough to know that those “freebies” they are getting are coming at a very high price to them.
For a real change — back to the kind of Freedom that great Founders like Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington, wanted for us, there is only one real choice:

The UN needs to be defunded by the US and kicked out of our country. Period, no discussion.

    • Robert Smith

And then the odds of putting a group of countries like GB Sr. did to stop Sadam the first time will be impossible.

Then all we will have is cowboy invasions like GWB did that gets all sorts of folks upset with America.

And we can all see where that has gotten us.

      Rob

      • DaveH

So you’re okay with meddling in other countries’ business and killing their people as long as other countries are involved, Robert?

      • Robert Smith

It sets the world up to be a democracy among countries. So, YES, under some selected circumstances I do see a considered response to a evils from a country being investigated and stopped with force if necessary and there is agreement, as GB Sr. did with Saddam.

That’s as opposed to the JR. Bush’s cowboy approach.

BTW, is your approach to NEVER meddle no matter how bad something is?

It’s ABSOLUTES that gets us in trouble.

        Rob

      • DaveH

Evil in whose opinion, Robert? I think you’re evil, so can we get the UN to do something about you?

      • Robert Smith

There you go! In the eyes of a GROUP of nations, not one cowboy like GWB.

Now, care to answer the questions?

        Rob

So Robert thinks that it’s okay to kill people as long as his gang votes in majority to do it. What else could I expect from an immoral Liberal Progressive?

I would like to know if one should continue paying taxes in the US with voter fraud? People in Greece have stopped paying them because of the way their government has collapes their system. About a month ago I read that there are 32,000 dead people in N Carolina still on the voting list? Anyone could walk in and vote for them without a voter ID card. Are the good people of the US really being represented? Good article, Thanks.

Right on, in this day and age with at least 24-million illegals in the US, we need voter picture ID. Not having it is total nonsense. This year the liberal judges are saying that demanding voter ID so close to the election is wrong…FINE. After this election we the people need to demand that every voter will have ID for the nextelections….just silly!

  • Harry Quinn

Considering the troubling precedent set by Jeb Bush when he gave the 2000 election to his brother, this is not surprising.

    • Robert Smith

Let’s not forget how it’s the RIGHT wing that is demanding voter fraud prevention with IDs and other garbage.

I would think that with all the fraud potential they claim they would welcome more ways to prevent it.

But then it isn’t abour froad that the right is concerned. They are working to margenalize and make it difficult for the poor and elderly to vote.

It is so easy to get photo ID that I think that even the poor, disabled, and old can get sufficient photo ID to vote. They can get it for welfare, food stamps, and social security, why not to vote? The whole story about how hard to got photo ID is ludicrist and should be laughed at as a totally bigoted idea.

      • DaveH

        Robert,
Why is it that you think our own people can’t be counted on being honest enough to oversee the elections, but you think that some disinterested foreigners would be?

      • Chester

PETE0097, Sir, kindly do a bit of research about what hoopssomeone who does not currently HAVE a photo ID has to jump through to get a “state approved” photo ID. First, you have to have a NEW birth certificate that can still have the seal on it felt, not an original certificate of live birth. Just to get the birth certificate, you have to go to the nearest health department and prove to them that you are who you claim to be. It does help if you know when and where you were born, and not only your mother’s maiden name, but your grandparents names as well. Once you prove you have a right to obtain your birth certificate, you are out of pocket immediately, fifteen to fifty dollars, depending on which state you are in. Sometimes you will be lucky enough to hit a point where you can actually walk away with your brand new birth certificate in your hand. And this is if you are making application in the state you were born in. If you happen not to live in the state you were born in, the process takes a good bit longer, assuming your birth happened to have been recorded properly when you were born, which for a lot of the elderly, even now, it wasn’t . I was born at home, like a lot of the rest of our older citizens, but Mom did have a doctor in attendance when I popped out, and he did file all the proper papers with the state. Even after you have the birth certificate unless you can drive, or have access to transportation to get you to the county seat, you still have a problem, as there is usually only one place in a county where you can get that blessed ID card, and that more often than not is in the county seat.

      • Robert Smith

Gary, here is the entire press release……read the whole thing….

“WARSAW, 24 October 2012 – Ambassador Janez Lenarčič, the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), expressed his grave concern today over the threat of criminal prosecution of OSCE/ODIHR election observers.

This threat, contained in an open letter from the Attorney General of Texas, is at odds with the established good co-operation between OSCE/ODIHR observers and state authorities across the United States, including in Texas, Lenarčič said, adding that it is also contrary to the country’s obligations as an OSCE participating State.

The ODIHR Director shared his concerns in a letter to United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“The threat of criminal sanctions against OSCE/ODIHR observers is unacceptable,” Lenarčič said. “The United States, like all countries in the OSCE, has an obligation to invite ODIHR observers to observe its elections.”

The ODIHR Director also stressed that any concerns or reports that the election observers intended to influence or interfere with the election process were groundless. He underlined that OSCE/ODIHR election observers adhere to all national laws and regulations, as well as a strict code of conduct.

“Our observers are required to remain strictly impartial and not to intervene in the voting process in any way,” Lenarčič said. “They are in the United States to observe these elections, not to interfere in them.”

The ODIHR limited election observation mission for the 2012 general elections in the United States consists of a core team of 13 experts, from 10 OSCE participating States, based in Washington D.C., and 44 long-term observers deployed throughout the country. These are the sixth United States elections the Office has observed, without incident, since 2002.”

Rob smith what you got against Voter ID it works for everyone it works for pres. Obama #44 and other high profile people so why not for everyone. I’ve been using it for as long as I’ve been voting , so scrap the bull a person wants to vote they have lots of chances to get ID before hand it comes up every few years they to lazy to get ID. or just want to keep making trouble about not being able to and not wanting to be forced to etc.etc.

    • http://Yahoo.com Bill

Just throw out the comments like Obama did, say it enough and then hope people believe. Just how did Jeb Bush give the election to his brother. I’m sure a lot of people would like to know how it happened.

You have not done your homework….liberal teachings, Florida came down to around 4-thousand vote difference, after many recounts Bush won by…wait for it, 537 votes. Get over it dummer!!!!!!!!!

We should not only keep the U.N. out of our elections, but we should also count the votes here in the United States and not in Spain by a company owned by George Sorros.

      • Robert Smith

Actually it’s Romney’s Bain Capital that supplies the votor machiens for Ohio and several other states.

BTW, that’s a FACT, not a claim like you have made.

        Rob

      • Flashy

what would be any issue showing the world how it’s done? Do the State lawmakers in Alabama and Texas have something to hide? Are they afraid of observers that they cannot intimidate and suppress? Something they don’t want the world to discover?

BTW Joe..if you would take time and think it through instead of being all herky jerky at the knees…there can’t be any one overall vote tabulation center….each state is responsible for counting it’s own votes, then reporting the results and releasing same to the media/public. Anyone telling you that tall tale about Soros is playing you for a fool. The real question is…did they peg you right?

      • Harry Quinn

The connection between the Romney family and voting machines in Ohio should be illegal. It seems that the fix is already in, and money has bought another election. This is what the UN should be investigating.

      • Fredo

This is to Robert Smith, who keeps blowing off about Romney “owning” and controlling the voting machines in Ohio. STFU you fool. You are NOT stating a fact, and I proved that in an earlier post I left you, which corrected you in your erroneous, false claim. Here it is again you liberal fool:

Fredo ! how do you say “conflict of interest?

Could a voting machine company with deep financial ties to the Romney family help Republicans steal the presidential election in Ohio?
It could happen. If this year’s presidential election comes down to the electoral votes in Ohio, the deciding votes could be cast on electronic voting machines manufactured by Hart Intercivic.
Tell the Department of Justice: Don’t let Republicans steal the election in Ohio with Romney-owned voting machines. Click here to automatically sign the petition.
A 2007 study conducted by Ohio’s Secretary of State showed that Hart Intercivic’s touch screen voting machines could be easily corrupted. The New York Times reported:
At polling stations, teams working on the study were able to pick locks to access memory cards and use hand-held devices to plug false vote counts into machines. At boards of election, they were able to introduce malignant software into servers.1
Hart Intercivic is majority owned by H.I.G. Capital which controls two of the five seats on the Hart Intercivic board. An investment fund with deep ties to the Romney family and the Mitt Romney for president campaign, H.I.G. Capital was founded by Tony Tamer, a major bundler for the Romney campaign, and it is one of the largest partners of Solamere Capital, an investment fund founded by Tagg Romney and Spencer Zwick, Mitt Romney’s chief fundraiser from the 2008 presidential campaign.2 This makes the Romney family part owner of the voting machine company, through it’s interest in H.I.G. Capital.

Listen, ~ with all the money the Romney family claims ~ why voting machines? why now? Why not islands or maybe the slave trade?

The constitution gives the President the authority to make and sign treaties with the appropval of congress. In 1947, the US agreed to the UN treaty. We created it and promoted it globally. We are in it to stay. These treaties are the law of the land, constitutionally supported and approved.

      • DaveH

Flashman, the administration shill, says — “what would be any issue showing the world how it’s done?”.
Nice equivocation, Flashman (even if poor grammar).
One very big problem is that it wouldn’t show the World how it’s done. It would only show the Leaders and their hired representatives how it’s done. And they’re the problem. Like allowing the Fox to watch the Hen House.

      • Flashy

Yeah…it was bad grammar wasn’t it…. is there a Mises link on that DaveH?

must be tough spouting anti US lines day after day. Now to state that we shouldn’t allow the world to observe our election process because…gasp…they’re foreigners? I realize that the voter ID laws have been designed to make voting more difficult and targeting the Democratic strongholds (with no evidence of voter fraud at the voter levels), and I realize that the past few months have turned up act after act of GOP aligned folks destroying registrations and attempting to fix the election, and I realize the elected GOPers of Texas, Alabama, etc are those with the extreme gerrymandering configured to rig the vote and politics in their respective states …

Could that be the big hub bub? that we really don’t have elections that would pass foreign scrutiny and that “our folks” will tell us how it all turned out? Hmmmm…sounds a lot like a despotic country eh? Yugo Chavez will be proud of how the GOP has come around to his line of thinking….

      • TML

Flashy says, “Do the State lawmakers in Alabama and Texas have something to hide? Are they afraid of observers that they cannot intimidate and suppress? Something they don’t want the world to discover?”

Highly doubtful… as you further pointed out, “each state is responsible for counting it’s own votes, then reporting the results and releasing same to the media/public” – thus these states are equally capable, and responsible for, observing and preventing voter fraud. There is no need for an international body of un-elected officials, to do that for them. It’s ultimately a matter of principle in sovereignty.

      • Robert Smith

“The Austin-based firm is partially owned by H.I.G Capital, an investment company that has business ties to Solamere Capital, Tagg Romney’s [Mitt’s oldest son] equity firm.”

You’ve confirmed the connection. The rest is simply argument.

I find it amazing that the right would question an individual about their right to vote but go along with such links to voting machiens without question.

        Rob

      • DaveH

So much equivocation (from Flashman), so little time.
Flashman says — “must be tough spouting anti US lines day after day”.
Then why do you do it, Flashman? Because you’re an Administration Shill who cares more about the Leaders than about the people? That was a rhetorical question.

Flashman says — “Now to state that we shouldn’t allow the world to observe our election process because…gasp…they’re foreigners?”.
I already answered that. It would be like hiring the Fox to watch the Hen House. Or to put it another way — it would be like hiring Flashman to look out for our best interests.

Flashman says — “I realize that the voter ID laws have been designed to make voting more difficult and targeting the Democratic strongholds”.
So one minute Flashman feigns concern for the legitimacy of our election process, and then the next he spurns efforts to create that legitimacy.

Flashman says — “Yugo Chavez will be proud of how the GOP has come around to his line of thinking….”.
More attempted manipulation by the Flashman. Where did you come up with your name, Flashman? Is it because the Truth in your comments is gone in a Flash?

      • DaveH

And Flashman, I’ve told you many times why I refer to Mises so much. Unlike you, I can trust their articles to be logical, factual, and unbiased. And, unlike you, I don’t expect people to just take my word for anything, so I provide articles that give in-depth explanations of things that I can only offer soundbites about.
But with or without Mises, Flashman, I could beat you in any kind of mental contest except those which involve lying. You would win those hands down, Flashman. I am not too proud to admit that.

      • Flashy

“thus these states are equally capable, and responsible for, observing and preventing voter fraud. There is no need for an international body of un-elected officials, to do that for them. It’s ultimately a matter of principle in sovereignty.” <—TML

TML … no one is saying the ultimate enforcement and process is taken over from any state. Consider this. The Parliamentary election results announced this week from Belarus.
= International observers on Monday condemned a weekend vote in Belarus in which not a single opposition politician won a parliament seat.
= Critics also said the 74.3 percent turnout reported Monday by the country's Central Elections Commission chairman was way too high and indicated widespread fraud. Local independent observers estimated the overall turnout as being almost 19 percent lower than the official 74.3 percent figure.
= At least 20 independent election observers were detained

        =======
Or let's take our good friend Hugo Chavez down in Venezuela. In the beginning of October ,,,, "Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias was reelected for another 6-year presidential term in Venezuela, after beating challenger Henrique Capriles 54% to 44%."
= Those elections are not in dispute. Why? because of the hordes of observers from the international monitors.

OK…let's begin with Belarus … observers detained. Is that not what the Texas AG is threatening and many on this forum calling for?

Moving onto Hugo. Would you feel it true had those results been gathered, counted, and announced by Venezuela without the process under international observation?

On one hand, a right wing autocrat supported by a small aristocracy of oligarchical banks and industry. The other is a left wing democratic regime. One detained observers and insisted its results were correct. the other invited all the observers who wanted to come.

Who ya believin' had the honest elections????

Here we have a right wing contingent from conservative ruled states insisting international observers are not welcomed…because 'we" can handle it. including at least one state AG and another state's legislator (both right wing). We have the progressive and moderate states (controlled by the Democrats) saying "hey, come on in, grab a coffee..sit a spell!" .

Think about all the above before dismissing the concept that international observers on a "come one, come all!" is a bad unwanted unwarranted idea

      • DaveH

Currently 2/3 of the UN membership is compose of Tyrannical Countries. And Flashman thinks they are going to moderate the Venezuelan elections fairly?
Pardon me while I roll over and laugh hysterically:
        http://www.thechortle.com/Chortle23/TheChortle2207_ROFLMAO.png

      • DaveH

Flashman says — “Those elections are not in dispute. Why? because of the hordes of observers from the international monitors”.
How do you tell if Flashman is lying? His lips are moving:
        http://video.foxnews.com/v/1885574534001/allegations-of-voter-fraud-in-chavez-re-election-victory/

      • TML

If no one is saying the ultimate enforcement and process is (or ought to be) taken over from any state, then how do the findings of any international observer matter?

Flashy says, “Belarus … observers detained. Is that not what the Texas AG is threatening and many on this forum calling for?”

I highly doubt anyone is advocating detention of election observers, as much as they are objecting to foreign oversight of their elections.

Flashy says, “Would you feel it true had those results been gathered, counted, and announced by Venezuela without the process under international observation?”

        Sure, why not?

Flashy says, “Who ya believin’ had the honest elections????”

Who I ‘believe’ had honest elections in another country doesn’t really matter to me.

Flashy says, “Here we have a right wing contingent from conservative ruled states insisting international observers are not welcomed…because ‘we” can handle it. including at least one state AG and another state’s legislator (both right wing). We have the progressive and moderate states (controlled by the Democrats) saying “hey, come on in, grab a coffee..sit a spell!” .”

The problem with your line of thinking here is that it begins with (and entirely dependent upon) the false presupposition, given as rhetoric, that “if you’re not doing anything wrong, what do you have to hide?”

It also presumes that any organization, or people, within Texas (for example), are capable or trustworthy of such civic duties as election observation, simply because they reside in Texas.

“Think about all the above before dismissing the concept that international observers on a “come one, come all!” is a bad unwanted unwarranted idea”

This further uses the false presupposition to assume that international observers are more virtuous than those they have come to observe.

To think that way, then gives any ‘recommendation’ or other findings from these observers the ability to dictate enforcement and process over the State which is responsible for the elections. Are you saying that Texas or Alabama have a corrupt government equal to the likes of Hugo Chavez or even Belarus that warrants such foreign observers?Because it seems to me you are putting the cart before the horse by implying that international observers are warranted simply because the resident of those states object to them.

Most American people simply are not comfortable with any foreign body conducting oversight of internal elections, and has nothing to do with being guilty of fraud or hiding anything.

    Ambassador Daan Everts
Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights
Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe
    UI. Miodowa 10
    00-251
    Warsaw, Poland

    Dear Ambassador Everts:

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) will reportedly dispatch election observers to the State of Texas to monitor the November 2012 general election. While it remains unclear exactly what your monitoring is intended to achieve, or precisely what tactics you will use to achieve the proposed monitoring, OSCE has stated publicly that it will visit polling stations on Election Day as part of its monitoring plan.

In April, you reportedly met with a group of organizations that have filed lawsuits challenging election integrity laws enacted by the Texas Legislature. One of those organizations, Project Vote, is closely affiliated with ACORN, which collapsed in disgrace after its role in a widespread voter-registration fraud scheme was uncovered. In September, a federal appeals court rejected Project Vote’s challenge to the State’s voter-registration regulations and allowed Texas to continue enforcing laws that were enacted to protect the integrity of the voter-registration process.

According to a letter that Project Vote and other organizations sent to you, OSCE has identified Voter ID laws as a barrier to the right to vote. That letter urged OSCE to monitor states that have taken steps to protect ballot integrity by enacting Voter ID laws. The OSCE may be entitled to its opinions about Voter ID laws, but your opinion is legally irrelevant in the United States, where the Supreme Court has already determined that Voter ID laws are constitutional.

If OSCE members want to learn more about our election processes so they can improve their own democratic systems, we welcome the opportunity to discuss the measures Texas has implemented to protect the integrity of elections. However, groups and individuals from outside the United States are not allowed to influence or interfere with the election process in Texas. This State has robust election laws that were carefully crafted to protect the integrity of our election system. All persons—including persons connected with OSCE—are required to comply with these laws.

Elections and election observation are regulated by state law. The Texas Election Code governs anyone who participates in Texas elections—including representatives of the OSCE. The OSCE’s representatives are not authorized by Texas law to enter a polling place. It may be a criminal offense for OSCE’s representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a polling place’s entrance. Failure to comply with these requirements could subject the OSCE’s representatives to criminal prosecution for violating state law.

    Sincerely,
    Greg Abbott
    Attorney General of Texas

ACORN didn’t collapse in disgrace. It was pecked to death by ducks from the extreme right.

@Smith & Quinn, both of you are completely removed from reality. Acorn was a corrupt-to-the-bone disorganization. They needed to be exposed, just like your hero van jones, and Glenn Beck did just that. Why are you people living in the United States?? You do not belong here. Have you heard yet, that France is now officially socialist?? Yes..they are, so get yourselves over there as quickly as you can and never, ever step foot in America again. You two, and all U.N. officials, need to be kicked…and kicked Hard, out of the United States of America. Neither of you ‘fit’ here, so take your ridiculous way of thinking to France and be miserable over there. We are sick of the misery you bring to America. F.O.A.D.

      • Ted Crawford

Neither Acorn nor the unabashed racist Bertha Lewis has collapsed! Instead, as is often the case with viral diseases it has mutated! According to Lewis they are now 18 Organizations, infesting the environment of 25 different States, they have simply changed their names while employing the same destructive methods, to implement their Leftist Utopia!

      • JohnC

ACORN may not exist with the same name but they have not gone away or crawled back under their rock ….the ones who were fired for the misdeeds …do you think that every organization does not have a supply of individual people they can throw under the bus…claiming they were the problem …even Obama threw his own pastor under the bus this is just Chicago thug politics as usual…ACORN still exists but under differnet names

Really? Except for the employees the caught, fired, and reported, what other incidents are you talking out of your hat about?

Are you going to claim that there are absolutely NO individuals in right wing organizations who have done evil? Oops, there have been. Unfortunately it wasn’t the right wing organization that did the self reporting but a local official who discovered the evil.

Please do tell us what needed “exposing” beyond what they reported themselves.

      Greg Abbott,

The constitution gives the President the authority to make and sign treaties with the appropval of congress on behalf of the USA. In 1947, the US agreed to the UN treaty. We created it and promoted it globally. We are in it to stay. These treaties are legal and binding and constitutional.

Since we work within the UN to move the world toward more freedom and openness, for us to suggest that we want to be left alone and to not be involved on the world stage is not only childish, but crazy. RE: UN Treaties
You make some good points on the presidents ability to initiate treaties with the Senate’s approval. The rosy idealistic picture which you paint may not hold true given that the Obama Administration has four treaties under negotiation with the UN that are very questionable. The ATT, LOST and two additional treaties will yield US sovereignty to the UN. Hillary Clinton has already signed the ATT and it awaits Obamas signature (which will happen after the election). Obama’s signature partially commits the US even if not ratified by the Senate. In addition, the way the treaties are worded, the UN will have full discretion on the interpretation of words within the treaties and that subjugates US citizens to the will of the UN and by implication, countries that are anti-US.

Look into these” Obama” treaties and you will find some very disconcerting details. As an example: How will you respond if the UN gets its way to tax the Internet (which is a subject now under discussion)? Dig into these treaties and you may find that the UN is now poised to syphon off US revenue (especially with the LOST Treaty) on a massive scale, all under the agenda of “wealth redistribution”. Sound familiar?

President Obama has worked behind the scenes too many times to, as he said: “Fundamentally Change America”. So far he is succeeding beyond all common knowledge and must be stopped. The above alone is more than enough reason to elect a pro-America president and Obama is not “pro-America” as we know it.

When I was a election judge in Colorado, had to call the police to remove demo-rats who were telling people how to vote, they are immoral, God hating idiots, the reason they booed God at their meeting of nazi’s this year.

  • GALT

Why not………the extra botch in 2000 would have achieved the “correct” outcome….

    • eddie47d

PLD has been proclaiming voter fraud for over 3 years now so at least in their minds its a huge concern. So why be shocked or surprised by this UN action. You cry wolf long enough someone is bound to take action.

      • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

        Dear eddie47d,

You write: “PLD has been proclaiming voter fraud for over 3 years now…” Talking out of your hat again?

        Best wishes,
        Bob

The UN has no authority in any election in the US, and any organization that asks them in, to interfere in our American lives , should be shown the door to wherever they come from and the outfit that asked them to observe , should go the same way.

This is The United States, the freedom center of the world, and will always be as long as we get rid of people like obama ,reid, and pelosi–and any Rinos and a few others that prefer the progressive (communist/muslim)way of life—The first step should be defunding the US ‘s payment to the UN and them closing the UN building in NY and sending the diplomats back to their home countries or wherever they want to go –as long as it is not the US–

The US is not perfect, but is better than any other country in this world —-

      • eddie47d

Not one bit Bob. Even you have brought up ACORN on several occassions,Chicago “thugs”,dead voters, threats at polling places and so forth. My hat is the same size Bob so please have a nice day.

      • eddie47d

By the way Bob I’m also against having UN observers at any polling place in the USA and only made an observation on the issue.

      • DaveH

        Eddie,
Please produce some evidence to back up your conjecture. The regulars know that you regularly make up “facts” out of whole cloth.

      • Robert Smith

Awwww shucks, are you REALLY surprised that after all the screeching from the extreme right about voter fraud that it didn’t get heard?

It’s the EXTREME RIGHT that has been screaming about voter fraud. Well, now there are some independent observers to look for it.

Or, are you now going to claim that voter fraud isn’t thaaaaaaaaat much of a problem?

ROFL… The hypocritical nature of the right shows up again.

        Rob

      • DaveH

        Yada, Yada, Yada.
After all these years on this board, the zealot Robert is still clinging to the Left/Right paradigm, while the Leaders take us to the cleaners.

      • Robert Smith

        Awwww Dave…

Do you still deny the hypocritical nature of the right shows up again as they complain that voter fraud isn’t fought theeeeeeeir way?

        Rob

      • eddie47d

I problem with Dave H is that he has been on this site for a few years so he knows exactly what gets said. Until he goes into complete denial and he has been doing that alot lately.

      • DaveH

Sober up, Eddie, so we can understand you. Then at least you will issue understandable nonsense.

      • http://www.facebook.com/benjamin.fox.98892 Benjamin Fox

eddie, teddy 47 ways to be a commie, the U.S. out of the UN and the UN out of the U.S. is what needs to happen so you lying commies can find another org. to carry your banner. You would have voted for Hitler eddie, teddy.

This reply is not to Galt, or any one person. It is to every American citizen. You All better damn well forget about Repub, Dem, This is a very wrong and dangerouse presidant.Every American should write your representative immediatly, and tell them to DEMAND this total garbage,of the UN, or any other non American entitiy be allowed anywhere near our voting headquarters. I don’t give a damn who, what excuse, or half ass reason they have. YOU all stop and think, come on, this is OUR country. She is not being taken, were Giving her away bit by bit. Gradually over 60 or more years, and exelerating in a very short time. WE the People should never be arguing among each other on something very serious as this, and other Unconstitutional travesties of late. Please Lord, Bless and save America for us, Or in some cases from us all.

      • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

        JD, I understand your concerns.

As a fellow patriotic American I disagree however with your assessment of the situation concerning election observers coming to the US via the OSCE, a UN recognized agency of the EU, as being a threat to our state. Here’s why.

The US is an active member of the OSCE and the UN. We, by those treaty obligations, by the rule of law that that establishs for us and others, go into other states around the world to monitor and observe elections. We expect others to abide by the rule of law, whether those laws and rules are national or international. As a matter of fact, when they try to say that they do not want international observers in their states, we point out to them their treaty obligations and the fact that the rule of law must apply equally to all.

So this then raises a moral and legal concern. Morally, our stand in opposition to having the OSCE observers monitor US elections is wrong. It’s not morally defensible for us to demand that other states abide by the rule of law and be held accountable by it then not expect the same of ourselves.

Legally, we are a nation that promotes the rule of law as being the defining characteristic of a successfull constitutional republic. What are we telling the world when they see us refuse to abide by the rule of law to which we so forcefully subscribe to and demand that others follow our lead, then turn around and say that it doesn’t apply to us? Are we telling everyone in every state on earth in all our dealings with them, whether in election matters, trade, commerce, cooperation, military engagements, etc, “to do say I say, not as I do?”

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

timothywilliamson, the states are sovereign entities and the UN or any of their agencies have no business in the internal affairs of the states and issues surrounding voter fraud must be dealt by the state or the courts. Keep the UN out of our country and out of our business. You are not a patriot but a one world dupe.

      • http://williamsoncontracting.wordpress.com timothywilliamson

Tell met this, is it right of the USA to demand that other nations follow the rule of law and abide by treaties? Are we the world beacon of truth and the rule of law? Why then should any state (nation) ever trust us again if we do not also abide by those very same rules and laws? What moral and legal authority could we stand on to justifiy a lack of accountability and responsibilty on our own part? What nation in their right mind would ever trust us in any thing to do with the rule of law, or treaties involving trade and commerce or in military alliances if we do not have the strength of character to do follow the very laws and rules we ask others to follow? How hypocritical, how arrogant is that?
