Phony Numbers, Phony Recovery, Phony President

Phony Numbers, Phony Recovery, Phony President
SPECIAL

Mark Twain once wrote, “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.” The phony jobs numbers issued last week and used by the phony President to tout a phony recovery are typical of the lies, damned lies and statistics spouted out daily by the political elites.

The elites walking the halls of power — the true 1 percent — are greedy and murderous psychopaths. They care nothing for their “subjects” and seek only more power, more money and more aggrandizement. They readily lie, cheat, steal and kill to achieve their goals.

The 7.8 percent unemployment number is a manipulated and meaningless figure. The Bureau of Labor Statistics cooks the books each month by using data it terms as “seasonally adjusted.” But this adjustment changes from month to month, and the BLS will not disclose what the adjustments are or how they are arrived at. It also does not tell the public that those factors change month to month.

John Williams at Shadowstats.com explains: “[T]he BLS knowingly has been preparing the seasonally-adjusted headline unemployment numbers on an inconsistent and non-comparable basis for some time. The September number was prepared using a different set of season factors than was used in coming up with the August number. The reporting difference can be large, when proper consistent month-to-month changes are used.”

In addition to applying nebulous and ever-changing seasonal adjustments, the numbers are based in part on information compiled by census workers conducting telephone surveys and home visits. They take monthly samples of 50,000 to 60,000 households in 31 States and the District of Columbia. Their criteria are ambiguous. For instance, the range for part-time work falls between one hour and 34 hours per week. “So if an out-of-work accountant tells a census worker, ‘I got one baby-sitting job this week just to cover my kid’s bus fare, but I haven’t been able to find anything else,’ this can be considered a part-time job,” writes Jack Welch in an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal.

Because of the subjective and open-ended nature of some responses, the opportunity for data manipulation is legion. There is also a motive for data manipulation. Government workers conducting these tests and compiling the data are members of the American Federation of Government Employees, which is part of the AFL-CIO. Unions are in the tank for the Democratic Party in general and President Barack Obama in particular.

Welch came under fire last week after he tweeted that he was skeptical of the sudden three-tenths of 1 percent drop in unemployment on the heels of Obama’s dismal debate performance.

As an aside, that debate revealed what I and many others have known for some time: Obama is a phony. He’s an empty suit (or chair) without the capacity for intelligent discussion beyond standard rote Marxist talking points, unless one of his masters has a hand up the back of his shirt in the form of a teleprompter. He has demonstrated this time and again through his choice of softball and heavily scripted interviews and the way he has responded as a petulant child to what few challenges he has received from the rare tough interviewer or the occasional Republican politician.

One of Welch’s critics last week was Austan Goolsbee, former chairman of the Obama regime’s Council of Economic Advisers. Demonstrating that, for the elites, history begins today and yesterday is irrelevant, Goolsbee conveniently forgets that just nine years ago he accused the George W. Bush Administration of cooking up phony unemployment numbers. In an op-ed piece for The New York Times published Nov. 30, 2003, Goolsbee wrote:

The government reported that annual unemployment during this recession peaked at only around 6 percent, compared with more than 7 percent in 1992 and more than 9 percent in 1982. But the unemployment rate has been low only because government programs, especially Social Security disability, have effectively been buying people off the unemployment rolls and reclassifying them as “not in the labor force.”

In other words, the government has cooked the books. It has been a more subtle manipulation than the one during the Ronald Reagan Administration, when people serving in the military were reclassified from “not in the labor force” to “employed” in order to reduce the unemployment rate. Nonetheless, the impact has been the same.

Under Obama, disability roles have risen in excess of 3.6 million since 2008, meaning Obama is using the same method of concealing true unemployment as the hated Bush.

According to Shadowstats, data manipulation has its roots in the Richard Nixon Administration. Williams writes that Nixon proposed that the BLS release each month one unemployment number — the one that was most favorable to the Administration — but not reveal whether it was the seasonally adjusted or unadjusted number. While there is no evidence this tactic was ever used, it demonstrates the mindset in Washington.

Even if one takes the official 7.8 percent number and BLS statistics at face value, they’re still nothing to crow about. Besides, the 7.8 percent number will not remain static. The BLS revises the data regularly and won’t issue a final number for the month until January, long after the election and when the September number is no longer relevant. The September number could change four or five times before January.

According to the BLS, total nonfarm payroll employment increased by only 114,000 in September. That’s not enough to keep up with population growth. It’s also 32,000 fewer jobs than the monthly average for this year, and 39,000 fewer jobs than the monthly average in 2011. Manufacturing jobs declined by 16,000 and overall have been unchanged since April. Yet we are to believe unemployment dropped?

The number of people employed part-time for economic reasons (that is they took part-time work because their hours were cut back or it was the only work available to them) rose from 8 million to 8.6 million. Another 802,000 dropped from the labor force and weren’t counted in the jobless data, and they became part of the 2.5 million considered marginally attached to the labor force because they “wanted and were available for work, and had looked for a job sometime in the prior 12 months. They were not counted as unemployed because they had not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the survey.”

Despite the rah-rah chanting of Obamaphiles, the truth is the number of people employed is near where it was in 2000 and well below where it was at its 2007 pre-recession peak. Actual unemployment, according to Shadowstats, exceeds 22 percent.

The Feds are likewise manipulating the inflation data. Called the Consumer Price Index (CPI), it is a measure of inflation based on the cost of a basket of goods. But the contents of the basket changes from time to time. Politicians like this because it is used to determine, among other things, the annual cost-of-living adjustments for Social Security. By manipulating the contents of the basket of goods, rising inflation can be masked and Social Security adjustments can be kept artificially low.

Using pre-Bill Clinton CPI methodology (that is, methodology employed until 1990), CPI inflation in August (September numbers are due out tomorrow) was 5.6 percent. Using methodology employed in 1980, CPI inflation in August was 9.3 percent, according to Shadowstats.

This is all part of the ongoing war on American seniors and savers being waged by the psychopaths in Washington.

Amazing stuff, but it should come as no surprise. Congress is the world’s most exclusive country club, and once you get in you will lie, distort and fudge facts as necessary to insure that you stay in the club and the party never ends. It’s also amazing that these clowns correctly voted for term limits for the presidency, but just try to get them to impose the same limit on themselves-this is how we end up for 40+ years with the likes of Chuck Schumer, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi & Ted Kennedy. They all know that the average person, when they bother to vote at all, is neither engaged or educated on the issues and
    will lazily take the incumbent.

    • Nancy in Nebraska

Nebraska’s congressman, lee terry has this commercial where he’s cutting up the people in Washington who have gotten us so far in debt etc… Everytime it comes on, I scream at the tv and say “YOU ARE those people in Washington, you FOOL! How dumb do you think we are?!?”! Don’t you just LOVE it when they try to distance themselves from their deeds?!?

  • martin

Has everyone forgotten that it is we the people against them the government. Once they are in office the lobbiest will start lining ther pockets and there is nothing that we can do about it. It makes no difference who gets in. One liar trains another.

    • Nancy in Nebraska

      I have NOT forgotten!!!

The solution to Americas problems will come from “we the people”. Not those lying puppets in the political “entertainment” arena.

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

WE THE PEOPLE are the Government! WE THE PEOPLE are the ones who have elected these officials. If you don’t like who they are, or what they are doing, don’t vote for them. But it will still come down to the majority of WE THE PEOPLE voters, and who they choose to elect.

That is the way that our country is set up.

  • S. Johnson

You people are sick. When there was bad news then the jobs numbers were completely accurate. When it’s good news then it’s sabotage. You can’t have things both ways. Either the numbers are accurate when the news is good or bad or it’s never accurate!!! The same people do the numbers either way!!!

    • Coop

Did people here that I wonder? “It’s the same people either way! enough said

      • Coop

        *hear…I know sorry

    • DaveH

Apparently, S. Johnson, logic is not your strong suit.
If Government is cooking the books to make employment look better than it is, then when the reported figures are bad the actual figures are even worse than bad. So to use the Government’s own figures is perfectly logical given that even the brain-dead Liberal Progressive followers will have a hard time denying them.

Dare I mention the greatest liar of them all; Ronald Reagan , and our country is still paying for his avaricious administration’s policies. Every president since Reagan has had to overcome the residue of his corruption. How now, righties?

I have read some Liberal crap on the Internet, but yours is a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. You probably don’t even remember the Jimmy Carter recession – 1 step from a depression. I lived through it. It was horrible, somewhat like we’re living today. Ronald Reagan won by a landslide & completely turned this country around! Grow up & stop reading lying Liberal blogs!

      • Nancy in Nebraska

I’ve not studied this and I don’t want to. But I agree with American 1st! For those who don’t know or don’t remember, mortgage interest rates were at 18%! Credit card rates were upto 29%. Inflation was terrible! My husband got transferred. Our house was on the market for 15 months after which we finally sold it at a loss of $15,000. It was only a $50,000 house to begin with, so that was a huge loss!!! I’ve never studied Reagan’s deeds or misdeeds but I KNOW that things got BETTER after he took office!!!

    • Alex

Completely correct. Look at the figures prior to Reagan and after—the once-vibrant
American middle-class, the largest “middle-class” in human history, has seen its collective wealth evaporate to the top, thanks to the wicked Osmosis of Capitalism and the idiocy
of Reagan, the only president to trade both arms-for-hostages and arms-for-drugs.

Reagan burns in Hell, right next to Adolf Hitler, John Wayne Gacy, and Josef Stalin….

      • American 1st

        Alex –

You need your head examined. Reagan beat Carter in 1980. Carter was the worst President EVER! Our country’s economy was in the toilet.

The numbers tell the story. Over the eight years of the Reagan Administration:

*20 million new jobs were created
*Inflation dropped from 13.5% in 1980 to 4.1% by 1988
*Unemployment fell from 7.6% to 5.5%
*Net worth of families earning between $20,000 and $50,000 annually grew by 27%
*Real gross national product rose 26%
*The prime interest rate was slashed from an unprecedented 21.5% when he took office to 10% in August 1988.
*Income taxes were slashed from a high of 70% under Carter to 35% under Reagan

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Alex, you have absolutely NO idea WHAT you’re talking about!!!!!!!!! There WAS no vibrant economy under Carter!!! The economy was in the crapper!!! Do you just make up crap??? Your statement could NOT be FURTHER from the truth!!! LIES AND DAMNED LIES!!!

      • Dave67

During the 80′s, I was a young Republican…Before I got smart… Reagan was instrumental in the deregulation of the banks, he made us more dependent on foriegn oil and he TRIPLED our national debt. Under his expert leadership… we had a middle class who’s wages stagnated, we did business with terrorists so he could fund his Central American adventure and his lack of strength of character led 200 Marines to die with no retribution on those who carried out the attack and Bin Laden say this attack as proof of America’s weakness in planning 9-11

For those who think Carter was our worst president, you were not living in this country or had access to any information from 2001-2008.

Reagan was a joke… a sad joke at that.

    • Patriotism Reigns

Ronald Reagan is the Best President that this Country has ever had. He pulled America out of a tail spin due to the idiot jimmy carter and his socialist policies. He built America and restored confidence in Americans. I have to admit I come from a long line of democrats, but I realized many years ago as well as many of my other family members that the deomocratic party is not the party it once was. I changed horses and realized I did better financially under a Republican President. Like Zell Miller said, “I didn’t leave the democratic party, they left me.” Wake up America before it’s too late…another four years of obamanation and we will all be in serious trouble, perhaps so much we can never pull out of it.

      • American 1st

        Patriotism Reigns -

I agree. President Reagan was the greatest President of my life time. He was the PEOPLE’S PRESIDENT. Democrats & Republicans loved him. Kids today have no clue what a GREAT President is all about. They are so brain-washed by Liberal propaganda, it’s sad. He worked tirelessly with Congress to turn our disatrous economy around. He stood up AGAINST Marxism, Socialism & Communism. He stood up FOR America, Freedom & the American Dream. He was awesome. He was also the exact opposite of Obama.

This is the first posting I opened today knowing by the tagline that the trolls would be up to defend their leader and I was correct. I feel sorry for them and it may not be for the reasons you might think. To defend this administration you have to literally buy everything it says which leaves no room for individual thought or expansion. You have to accept their version of everything and leave common sense behind.
Do I believe the BLS data? No way! As stated in the post the simple arithmetic does not add up. I came to that conclusion by myself when the numbers came up. With the liberals they just had the line to parrot from the BLS that unemployment was down to 7.8 percent. I wish that were true. Not once did I hear a liberal pundit question the number but I did hear them accuse the republicans of raining on good news. Are liberals so gullible that they will swallow what they are told?
Any person on fixed income knows that the true inflation rate and the reported inflation rates are different and it should not be so. We need the true inflation rate to be the norm in all circumstances. Without reliable numbers budgets cannot be proposed and adopted nor good policy made on future endeavors. Using lower inflation numbers builds up politicians so they can take credit and mollify their constituents. It also does a disservice to those on fixed incomes by effectually denying them an otherwise justifiable COLA. While COLA may be written into law it is the figures used that determine the amount.
Of course liberals love to blame Bush for their problems as they do not have a plan to get us out of this mess. They are too busy protecting their billionaire friends to give a darn about the lower class of people. Obama may want your three dollars or your birthday present or even your wedding gifts but he will beat a hotfoot to Hollywood while you count pennies.

    • Nancy in Nebraska

You say: “Are liberals so gullible that they will swallow what they are told?”. YES and so are the conservatives! BOTH parties are LYING to the people and the people believe them!!! We need to wake up to the fact that BOTH parties are the SAME!!! They SAY different things but they DO the same things!!! The parties only exist to distract the people and make them THINK they have a say in how the country is run!!! The country is run by the big powerful bankers and the politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle take their orders from THEM!!! Ignorance is NOT bliss!!!

      • daniel

Nancy I appreciate what you said and I am aware of the politics involved. However as I was talking about the numbers i was hoping to see a liberal pundit question the validity of the numbers and have yet to be shown one. I also realize that both parties have ben playing games including redefining the COLA for SS. I believe that Bush II was involved with that as well as Clinton. Both did it for the same reasons. To make them look good. Obama on the other hand is the worst I have ever seen when it comes to image above all else.
If Romney is elected I expect that he will face harsh criticism as well from conservative circles as we have been too quiet for too long and look at the mess we are in.

Bob – Frist of all, I’m pretty sure that your opening quote is from Benjamin Disreali. Second of all, If the President could cook the books, why would he set the improvement in unemployment at a paltry .3%? Why not an imrpovement of 1%? or 5%?

The unemployment number, indeed most government statistics, are approximations, relatively accurate guesses that can be used comparatively over time to show improvement or decline over time. What is important is that the criteria be unchanging.

    • DaveH

Because even Obama must be somewhere near the truth to avoid waking his brain-dead followers.

    • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

      Dear Ted,

You write: “Bob – Frist (sic) of all, I’m pretty sure that your opening quote is from Benjamin Disreali.” Though Twain attributed it to Disreali, it is not found in Disreali’s writings and thought to have been penned by Twain himself. http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/375700.html

You write: “If the President could cook the books, why would he set the improvement in unemployment at a paltry .3%? Why not an imrpovement (sic) of 1%? or 5%?” I did not say the “President” cooked the books. I doubt he has the mental acumen to pull off such a feat. However, the number crunchers working on his behalf did it (perhaps at his direction, perhaps not, I do not know). It should be obvious to you why they did not “adjust” them by a full percent or more when the .3% figure is called into question. The President just needs the evidence that things are turning in the right direction, not some massive and unjustifiable drop that would be believed by no one.

      Best wishes,
      Bob

The bureaucrats, who are both Republicans and Democrats, but mostly apolitical, have used the exact same method for producing these figures whether there has been a Republican or a Democrat as president. Although the method may not be perfedct, it has been applied in a very uniform manner for decades. Let’s get over the idea that if we do not like the numbers they must be a lie.
    .

I don’t think you even read the article!!! The whole POINT is that the methods are NOT uniform!!! The methods of calculation are ever changing!!!

And this isn’t taken out of context. He also said we would be able to tell what his policies would be by the people he surrounded himself with….. Tax evasion, Marxist, Socialist, Communists, Liars, Strong Arm People, Killers, people with no scruples, and they are all deceitful. Now that’s a real mix for what? Yes, you figured it out. Transforming America so it is no longer the Greatest Country in the World. You should be happy…. your living it.

  • thomas aulisio

Seasonal adjustments are a legit adjustment. The real joke here is the participation rate which has fallen by almost fifteen percent. Basically people have gone on unemployment then after that expires welfare. The true unemployment rate is the unemployment rate plus the percentage of people on welfare roles. Check out that number to see how the economy is really doing.

    • Patriot1776

If we want a true measure of the rate of employment and the health of the jobs market, we should look at the ratio of employed people to the population. That coupled with the income mode would show the reality of the economy.

    • DaveH

Thomas says — “Seasonal adjustments are a legit adjustment”.
Perhaps, Thomas, but if so, why don’t they reveal the adjustment factors, and why don’t they report the real figures, with the caveat of “seasonal” factors, so that people can make up their own minds?

Perhaps not Mr. Livingston, ~ but clearly you are painted into a corner this election and there is no good selection to make ~ It’s hard to find a fitting thing to say. ~ If it were up to me , I would say ~ let us quit attempting to win battles at the cost of losing the war and play the long game with an eye on recapturing control over the creation of our currency. What ground work can be done to gain the upper hand with positional play? Support the disciples of Ron Paul?

What I fear is the hyjacking that will surly be attempted of any organized movement that make substantial gains to that end. ~ Rebel forces will be infiltrated by the opposition to rebel forces and it turns it into a circus of disorganization, culminating into a blood bath and the resulting bad press, ~ followed by a down verdict rendered in the court of public opinion.

Unseating entrench power is a very difficult thing to attempt to do. They don’t cotton to losing status, power, money or position very well.

I can’t wait for the next chapter with Bob showing Romney’s nose twice as long as Obama’s. How about you? Now if you want to play the innocent biased sheeple then keep on posting you foolish little man.

eddie, a might speechless are ye? To close to home for you I see. You’re rendered to your typically childish garble and meaningless parroting.

In your case though, being stupid is its own reward.

Another question, Mr Livingston—you seem to be somewhat educated, as least much more so than the bulk of your readers—how is it you refer to President Obama as a

Like him or not, Barack Hussein Obama was elected by a wide margin. What is phony?

In response to a comment by DaveH in September, you responded: “DaveH–Why can you not say what YOU want to say? Why are you always sending people down rabbit holes? Nobody cares what the discredited Ludwig von Mises Institute has to say.”

Following is my response to you, that you avoided? Will you respond now?
      Dear Alex,

You write: “Nobody cares what the discredited Ludwig von Mises Institute has to say.” Actually many people do, apparently. Just not fools like you. Here are a few of the senior scholars at Mises.
John P. Cochran is the dean of the School of Business and a professor of economics at the Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Thomas James DiLorenzo is professor of economics at Loyola University He is the author or co-author of 10 books, on subjects such as antitrust, group-interest politics, and interventionism generally.
David Gordon is a philosopher, historian, and senior fellow. He was educated at UCLA, where he earned his PhD in intellectual history. He is author of three books and editor and co-editor of two publications and regular contributor to many more.

Jeffrey M. Herbener is a professor of economics at Grove City College and a senior fellow.
Hans-Hermann Hoppe (b. 1949) is Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Distinguished Fellow.

Jörg Guido Hülsmann (born May 18, 1966) is a professor of economics at the University of Angers in France and adherent of the Austrian School. He has edited six books and is the author of two more. He has translated several renowned economics books into German and written many articles in English, French, and German. He is a contributor to scholarly journals and is the director of the Austrian Research Seminar in Paris.
Joseph T. Salerno is a professor at Pace University, an editor of the Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics, and Academic Vice President of the Mises Institute. Salerno specializes in monetary theory and policy, comparative economics, and the history of economic thought.

Thomas E. Woods, Jr. (born August 1, 1972) is an American historian and New York Times bestselling author. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in history from Columbia University. He served as a history department faculty member at Suffolk County Community College in New York until 2006, and is now resident scholar and senior faculty member of the Ludwig von Mises Institute (LvMI) in Auburn, Alabama, as well as a member of the editorial board for Libertarian Papers[2].

He was an ISI Richard M. Weaver Fellow in 1995–96. Woods was also the recipient of the 2004 O.P. Alford III Prize for Libertarian Scholarship and of an Olive W. Garvey Fellowship from the Independent Institute in 2003. He has additionally been awarded two Humane Studies Fellowships and a Claude R. Lambe Fellowship from the Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University. Woods is co-editor of Exploring American History: From Colonial Times to 1877, an eleven-volume encyclopedia.

As there are best-selling and widely published authors, college professors and paid speakers on the list, apparently many people care what they have to say.

Now, Alex, please tell us your credentials. How many books have you authored? Journals edited? Articles published? Classes taught? Please tell us about your degrees.

Also, please inform the readers how the Ludwig von Mises Institute is “discredited”?

Second, they are liars who continue to propagate false reasoning behind the War of Southern Belligerence.
        Ludwig von Mises Institute—-discredited.
Hope that helps you out, Mr Livingston.
Again, I thank you for the forum you provide for divergent views.
One question, how did you direct your question to me, when there are other posters who simply use the name “Alex”? You DID get the right guy, Mr Livingston–I am just curious how you determined the right one…

You write: “Second, they are liars who continue to propagate false reasoning behind the War of Southern Belligerence.” What “false reasoning?”

You write: “Ludwig von Mises Institute—-discredited.” I’m not sure your “arguments” win in any forum beyond your own mind. Also, you failed to mention your scholarship, your publications, your degrees… or any credentials that provide weight to your position.

You write: “Again, I thank you for the forum you provide for divergent views.” You are welcome.

You write: “One question, how did you direct your question to me, when there are other posters who simply use the name “Alex”? You DID get the right guy, Mr Livingston–I am just curious how you determined the right one…” It is a very simple proposition on the internet.

      • JeffH

Dave67, “the birth certificate again”?…then cites snopes.com. Tell us again about who can be a “natural born citizen” while you’re at it.

Yeah, Obama’s posted birth certificate is a forgery and Obama’s eligibility attorney, Alexandra Hill, acknowledged that it was fraudulent.

Armed with a number of witnesses, including an expert who was willing to testify that Obama’s birth certificate, posted online in April 2011 by the White House, was fraudulent, Apuzzo(plaintiff attorney) was instead told to holster his guns.

“We were willing to present that what’s online has been manipulated by computer, human, or both and that it’s not reliable. I told them I was ready to prove that and if they didn’t want this witness to testify then concede that,” he said. “I got Obama (Obama’s attorney Hill) to concede that there is no evidence before the court as to his place of birth, which includes what’s on the internet.”

Taking an audacious and shocking angle against the constitutional eligibility mandate, Obama’s lawyer, Alexandra Hill, admitted that the image of Obama’s birth certificate was a forgery and made the absurd claim that, therefore, it cannot be used as evidence to confirm his lack of natural born citizenship status. Therefore, she argued, it is “irrelevant to his placement on the ballot”.

Hill went on to contort reasoning by implying that Obama needs only invoke his political popularity, not legal qualifications, in order to be a candidate.

At the hearing, attorney for the plaintiffs, Mario Apuzzo, correctly argued that Obama, under the Constitution, has to be a “natural born Citizen” and that he has not met his burden of showing that he is eligible to be on the New Jersey primary ballot by showing that he is indeed a “natural born Citizen.”

Joe Arpaio’s New Birther “Evidence,” as Usual, Was Debunked Months AgoBy Matthew Hendley Wed., Jul. 18 2012 at 12:29 PM 30 CommentsCategories: Birthers (sigh)

Chief birther [expletive deleted] Mike Zullo.
If you’re among the people who are still on the fence about President Obama’s birth certificate, or think that Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his birther gang are presenting anything remotely credible, this one’s for you.

Just like Arpaio’s announcement on March 1 that he had evidence Obama’s using a phony birth certificate, his birther buddies are using recycled theories — theories that were debunked months before Arpaio and friends presented them to the world as “evidence.”

Not only are the theories false — which, unfortunately, we’ll explain — Arpaio and his buddies presented information to the public that they know is false.

The best “evidence” Arpaio and the birthers presented was that penciled-in codes on the birth certificate don’t match federal guidelines, which they claim to believe is clear evidence of a forgery (see their video here).

In one box on Obama’s birth certificate, there’s a box titled “race of father,” which is filled in as “African.” The number nine is penciled in next to it.

Arpaio and lead “investigator” Mike Zullo say that according to the federal guide in 1961 — the year of Obama’s birth — that number nine meant “unknown or not stated.”

That’s false, and it’s nearly impossible that Arpaio’s birther gang didn’t know that.

After approximately two minutes on the Internet — no, we didn’t have to blow $10,000 on a trip to Hawaii — we found this exact theory, and the documentation proving it false, from Obama Conspiracy Theories.

The coding for the number nine in the race meant “unknown or not stated” in the guide for 1968. In 1961, it meant “other nonwhite.”

On top of that, Arpaio’s birther pals conveniently cropped the area of the 1968 guide to omit the fact that they were referring to a section called “race of child,” not “race of father.” (Click here for the whole document.)

The birther gang proceeded to call the 95-year-old woman who coded and signed Obama’s birth certificate to ask her if she made this error, and she said she did not — because the accusation is false.

The other theory about the Nordyke twins and sequential numbering was also lifted by Arpaio and friends from the same authors of the race theory, and has also been debunked.

That leaves Arpaio and friends with stories about how nobody wanted to play their birther games in Hawaii, as they went around claiming to be police officers and asking for documents, as well as more “forensic computer analysis.”

All of the computer things have consistently been debunked, and a quick Google search for Garrett Papit — the guy who did the latest one — will show you that this gentleman has been involved in birther theories on the Internet for more than a year now.

For the rest of you who never bought an ounce of Arpaio’s “investigation” anyway, we apologize for wasting your time.

      • JeffH

Dave67 says “If Obama cannot be president because he is not a “naturalized” citizen as you define it than Mitt should drop out right now. Mitt’s father was born in Mexico genius.”

Your arguement is non sequiter and failed immediately when you used the word “naturalized”…bad attempt.

Obama is not a “natural born citizen”…and why do you bring Mitt’s father into play? We’re talking about the current POTUS’s constitutional in-eligibility here, not Mitts!

        Genius…NOT…Speaking of DUH!

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

        JeffH,

Seven (7) State Courts have seen Obama’s certified, state-issued BC and found that Obama IS a Natural Born Citizen.

One of them, New York’s Kings Country Superior Court states specifically it was dismissing complaint seeking declaration that Obama is not eligible for presidency because he was not born in US and was not born to two US citizen parents; finding that persons born in US are “natural born citizens” per Wong Kim Ark and Ankeny, regardless of parentage and rejecting birther argument to the contrary; reserving for later ruling motion for sanctions.

That anyone chooses to NOT believe that Obama, especially based on the evidence, is NOT a Natural Born Citizen does not make it true. The State of Hawaii, and the Couts, have the last say. And they are saying that he is.

      • JeffH

tlgeer says “Seven (7) State Courts have seen Obama’s certified, state-issued BC and found that Obama IS a Natural Born Citizen.”

That is a lie tlgeer. No state or federal court has ever seen a “certified” copy of Obama’s birth certificate. Obama could never be a “natural born citizen” under Article II of the Constitution. His father was a British subject and never a US citizen which means Obama had “duel” citizenship…I don’t expect you to understand that but I’ll provide a link for you to check out, which wxplains everything regarding “natural born citizen” in detail.

4 SUPREME COURT CASES DEFINE4 ‘NATURAL BORN CITIZEN
        http://www.fourwinds10.net/siterun_data/government/us_constitution/news.php?q=1308252582

        You cite Kim Wong Ark…United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898)

In this case, Wong Kim Ark, the son of 2 resident Chinese aliens, claimed U.S. Citizenship and was vindicated by the court on the basis of the 14th Amendment. In this case the Justice Gray gave the opinion of the court. On p. 168-9 of the record, He cites approvingly the decision in Minor vs. Happersett:

At common law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children, born in a country of parents who were its citizens, became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.

On the basis of the 14th Amendment, however, the majority opinion coined a new definition for “native citizen”, as anyone who was born in the U.S.A., under the jurisdiction of the United States. The Court gave a novel interpretation to jurisdiction, and thus extended citizenship to all born in the country (excepting those born of ambassadors and foreign armies etc.); but it did not extend the meaning of the term “natural born citizen.”

        Minor v. Happersett , 88 U.S. 162 (1875)

This case concerned Mrs. Happersett, an original suffragette, who in virtue of the 14th Amendment attempted to register to vote in the State of Missouri, and was refused because she was not a man. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in that year, wrote the majority opinion, in which he stated:

The Constitution does not in words say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents.

        CONCLUSION

Finally it should be noted, that to define a term is to indicate the category or class of things which it signifies. In this sense, the Supreme Court of the United States has never applied the term “natural born citizen” to any other category than “those born in the country of parents who are citizens thereof”.

Hence every U.S. Citizen must accept this definition or categorical designation, and fulfil his constitutional duties accordingly. No member of Congress, no judge of the Federal Judiciary, no elected or appointed official in Federal or State government has the right to use any other definition; and if he does, he is acting unlawfully, because unconstitutionally.

Blame Grover Norquist, not President Obama.

The House has refused to act on the president’s job bill which would employ 22 million people, simply because it asks the wealthiest Americans to step up and pay their fair share.
By remaining beholding to Norquist, the GOP legislators are going against the 67 per cent
of Americans who favor keeping the Bush Tax Cuts for those making under $250,000 and
allowing them to expire for those making above that.

The Bush Tax Cuts were, of course, supposed to create jobs by allowing the wealthiest in the country to “trickle (jobs) down” to struggling American families. So, then, WHERE ARE the jobs from ELEVEN YEARS of Bush Tax Cuts? Where are they?

The GOP has shown us over and over that the only thing that trickles down is urine, which
the Reich Wing bottles and calls “Tea”…

Yet, people continue to swallow the GOP Big Lie! Mr Livingston, you certainly help keep that lie alive, so I ask you—Where are the jobs from 11 years of Bush Tax Cuts?

      Dear Alex,

I note your response avoids the article’s premise.

You write: “The House has refused to act on the president’s job bill which would employ 22 million people…” The same way that passing the economic stimulus in 2009 would bring unemployment to 6 percent? Wild-eyed speculation, at best.

You write: “Yet, people continue to swallow the GOP Big Lie! Mr Livingston, you certainly help keep that lie alive…” Please point out where I have supported the broad GOP agenda.

You write: “Where are the jobs from 11 years of Bush Tax Cuts?” I have no interest in this false discussion.

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

        Alex,

I am not a Republican or a Libertarian. But even I know that there is a difference. In a lot of instances, a BIG difference.

For the most part, Republicans are for a centralized Government of just about everything, just as large as the Democrats are for, including economic engineering for the top percentage of the country. The Dems are more for economic engineering for the mid-to-lower part of the country. The Libertarians are very much for a de-centralized Government and that Government as small as possible. Defense of our country, maintaining roads and infrastructure are two of the few powers that Libertarians adhere to.

While most of the Libertarians that I am acquainted with would deny it to their dying day, ;-) Libertarians are more closely related politically with the Democrats. Neither group, for the most part, want the Government with their oars in any social area. Kind of a “you stay on your side of the fence, and I’ll stay on mine”. This applies to our private lives, also. Which is part of why the Dems fight to so hard for equal treatment under the law. Equal treatment for everyone, not just the ones you agree with.

      • Frank Kahn

When you say Democrats, are you talking about the people living today? I would enjoy debating you on how Obama is for small government. Keeping their noses out of our business, what country are you living in? The Democrats are just as bad as the Republicans in wanting to interfere with our daily lives.

Did you check out the page with the politicians’ positions? They have Obama right-wing authoritarian with the rest of them, with Rick Santorum being the most authoritarian. Extremely interesting analysis. I”m more libertarian than Ron Paul, although to his extreme left.

      • DaveH

TLGeer says — “maintaining roads and infrastructure are two of the few powers that Libertarians adhere to”.
Sorry, TL, but you are wrong about that.
Read this to learn how wrong:
        http://library.mises.org/books/Murray%20N%20Rothbard/For%20a%20New%20Liberty%20The%20Libertarian%20Manifesto.pdf

TLGeer says — “Libertarians are more closely related politically with the Democrats”.
Hardly, TL. Libertarians believe in strict Property Rights which is the Polar Opposite of Democrats. Democrats want to help themselves to other peoples’ property.

As far as your Democratic Equal Rights goes, TL — Who defines “equality”?
Democrat leaders espouse such concepts merely to grow their Power over the rest of us, and to buy votes from ignorant people. Equality doesn’t come at the point of a gun.

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

“Democrats want to help themselves to other peoples’ property.”

        Sorry, DaveH, you are wrong.

The Dems do believe in personal property rights. They, also, believe that a Government should not be able to co-opt a piece of land simply because they want to build something on it to make money, like the Republican’s do.

As a Dem, I want my Government to:

        1. Stay out of my life, my bedroom and my marriage. As long as consensual adults are involved it’s no one else business. Period. That means passing laws to negate laws that interfere with that. Laws, if necessary, should be made to treat everyone equally even if some people do not like what is done with that right.
2 Short of poisoning the ground, or interfering with someone’s air right’s, what I do on my land is my business. As long as it doesn’t interfere with anyone else. Not liking is not interfering.
        3. My religious beliefs are up to me. And they are up to me to teach to my children, grandchildren, etc. If I choose to have my children religiously schooled, it is up to me. As an adherent to the US Constitution I expect the Government schools to not teach about any religion except as a class in ALL of them.
        4. If I choose to not send my children to public school, I will either home-school or pay for a private school myself. It is not up to the Government to use my taxes for religious or non-public schools. Doing so would expand the Governments intrusion into my life.
        5. I am conflicted about the gun laws. While I am firmly behind the 2nd Amendment I, also, do think that there are citizens who should not be allowed to own them (violent felons, psychiatric patients who have been non-voluntarily committed, other than 3 day holding periods, people who have been found to be a ward of the courts because of disabilities or mental incompetence). That section or people are, also, in the minority in this country.
        6. Your religious beliefs are yours, and you do not have the right to impose them on me. No matter how strongly you feel about it.

I would rather have Capitalism than Marxism and/or Islam which ARE ideologies promoted by Barak Hussein Obama who had been living up to his middle name and the teachings of his tutor in Hawaii, Frank Marshall Davis, a member of Hawaiian Communist Party.

Both of those ideologies belong to a dungheap of history because whenever they were tried they led to poverty, misery and tyranny. Just look at what happened in Soviet Union or ANY of the 57 Muslim majority countries! Now, Europe has to feed 50 millions of Muslims who came as a result of their sharia-run dysfunctional countries, and they are using liberty to subvert Western civilization and make it into basket case economies just as Muslim and former socialist countries are.

Obama is a traitor of American values because he is a true believer of both dysfuctional ideologies of Marxism and Islam , which are incompatible with decent human life and liberty in US.

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

Your post would be fine, except that Obama is neither a Marxist or a Muslim. And there is no proof that he is.

      • Gea

There is a plenty of proof of Obama’s Marxist Islamist agenda EVERY day if you are not blinded by political correctness, which dismisses them, even if they bite you by the butt.

Obama giving $1,500 millions of US taxpayers money to misogynist, genocidal supremacist Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt is just one of the evidence. The first “law’ that those Islamists of Egypt had passed is to allow men to have sex with their dead wives up to 12 hours after her death. Women on the streets of Egypt are constantly being molested by those Muslim brothers who now rule Egypt. Obama is a traitor!

Obama bowed to Saudi king whose subjects committed crimes of 9/11 screaming Allahu Akbar, while Obama extolls Islam and Koran and disses Bible. Obama’s tutor in Hawaii (from age 10-18) was a member of the Hawaiian Communist Party and both his father and stepfather were Muslim Marxist. Obama uses Islamic taqiyya (lies mandated by Koran when Muslims live among non-Muslims) to cover up his vile acts and aspirations. He must be gone from any position of power.

My personal “net worth” has declined every year under this so called “leadership”. I’m confident that I am in the same situation as 10′s of millions of other Americans. It is clear they have no ambitions on turning this situation around, Period. The marxists want to make as many as possible “beholden” to the gubmint. OUT WITH PROGRESSIVES, NOW! Stop this War on Americans, Nov 6th.

    • eddie47d

Were you that passionate about about ousting Bush/Cheney? I love how Republicans create problems then pull out the Marxist card and develop selective amnesia. I really don’t care if you don’t like Obama and there are reasons to vote him out. There are also reasons to keep Romney out and no where near Washington. Crony Capitalism crashed our economy not Socialism or Marxism. So enough of this smoke and mirrors and and this attempt to install one of the worst abusers of that same Wall Street platform.

      • DaveH

Eddie says — “Were you that passionate about about ousting Bush/Cheney?”.
Non sequitur, Eddie. It’s what we’ve come to expect from you.

The truth hurts Dave when he can only produce a lazy comeback.

      • tony

eddie47d why would anyone listen to you when you support population control tactics ????

      • Nancy in Nebraska

eddie47d says: “Were you that passionate about bush/cheney?”.

eddie, I hadn’t woken up yet! I’ll admit that I was fooled! I now see bush/cheney for EXACTLY who they are!!! Are you going to wake up and see that obumass is the SAME?!? The names are really interchangeable! They are ALL taking orders from the SAME people!!! WHY do you DEFEND them?!? The FACTS are coming into view! Try to clear your vision just a little bit more!!! SEE the TRUTH!!!

      • tony

Anyone who supports Obama is a supporter of population Control a very harsh reality when our choices to expand the supply of our needs is a much better path towards Peace !!! You cannot have Peace without an abundant supply and what this president and his minions are advocating is a Redistribution of an existing supply while the population is still growing , Wake Up Wake Up think about the reality of what we are doing here when we elect leaders and take what they and their advocacy are saying into account . !!!

      • Gea

Obama has nothing to do with the population control, since he is a supporter of Islam, which itself is promoting making babies by old guys who can afford purchasing wives while the young poor guys rely on blowing themselves up (while murdering Jews and Americans) in order to get a fast ticket into Muslim paradise with 72 virgins and 12 per-pubescent boys “to do with them as they please”.

With over 7 billions of humans on Earth, which is unable to feed all those multitudes, one should remember that the Biblical instruction to Adam was given where there were only 2 humans on Earth.

Obama is a traitor of American values but that has nothing to do with his stand of birth control, which is probably similar to those of his religion Islam, where man is measured by the number of kids he sires. Osama bin Ladin’s father had 27 wives (4 at any one time) and 53 children including Osama, who only had 24 children from 7 wives (4 at any one time). .

      • tony

GEA REALLY , give me a Break , science CZAR Holdren is a co associate of Ehrlich who says all the time you and I need to be reduced off the face of the earth as well as Cass Susutien , all of which are ANTI Economic growth Anti Supply-siders which is in turn ANTI Population growth .

And all supporting Islam is doing is destabilizing the Middle East by enabling the radicals for the Greater goal of crashing the Free World Oil Market that will usher in a nationalization of the free markets here in the USA forming the bases for dictatorship to stabilize Hyper Inflation in the USA by Obama the goal of the extreme environmental Marxists who support this president . I bet even Hank Paulson voted for this 2 faced fraud !!!

      • Gea

Obama IS a danger not only to US but to entire Western civilization, but it has nothing to do with his stand of population control. His policies support Marxism and Islam, both supremacist ideologies incompatible with decent human rights and liberty.

Our free market mechanisms, if allowed to work, would not cause overpopulation around the world, because if people could not feed them, they would not have all those babies, who in the US often live on the dole and are left to the streets thus causing crime. Obama had made US into a food-stamp country where in my county the food stamps expenditures tripped since Obama came to power. Every sixth person in on some kind of government assistance in my mid-west county. Pprostitutes, pimps and drug dealers who do not have taxable income can get free phones and other perks paid for by the working Americans whose jobs are being constantly threatened.

As somebody said: The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money. Obama had already run our of working Americans money and is borrowing heavily from China and others to continue this insane dysfunctional madness in USA. His Islamist sympathies and working to subvert US Constitution in order to defend truth about Islam to be known to Americans, is making him a complete traitor of American values. He should resign and not be allowed to run for another term in which he could finish is job of destroying US.

      • tony

More People were eliminated under Marxist regimes than any other time in Modern History .

      • Gea

Sharia-run countries may have eliminated more people than Marxist ruled countries but in 57 Muslim majority countries, terrorism and murder of one;s opponents may be a way of population control which had been going out of hand, since Muslim men judge their manhood by the number of kids they sire with their multiple wives ;-) ! Osama bin Ladin’s rich dad had 27 wives (4 at any one time) and 54 children from them, while Osama only had 7 wives (4 at any one time) and 23 children. Those terrorist genes must propagate to take over the world ;-) ! In contrast Marxist do not multiply so fast and had given up, while Muslims send their brood to politically correct Europeans and Australians where they are trying to establish their nasty sharia too ;-) !

      • tony

I agree with you !!! Plus its the Educational values that free market theorists create that promotes sustainable growth , the fertility charts prove this truth in the way Industrialized nations have Sustainable growth , its the illegal Immigration thats skewing the Facts , and creating states insolvency .

      • TexasRide

GEA, omaumau’s population control doesn’t include the moos! Take a guess who he wants to get rid of, and it is not his moo-buddies.

      • eddie47d

Tony is so full of it. We survived as a nation with only a few million and had true greatness just a few decades ago with half the population. More people doesn’t equal greatness so keep peddling your misinformation.

      • tony

Eddie We the People don’t need a Obama dictatorship forcing Population Control on our Lives what we need is the Immigration Laws to be Upheld , but thats wrong for Obama to gain the Illegal Vote , oh thats why they don’t want voter ID oh and if you look at the fertility charts the USA is a Sustainable Population growth with a Capitalist system thats expanding supply so for Obama to impose his brand of Control through EPA regulation is because of he and his Minions Ideology for what is best for we the people , THATS NOT a GOVERNMENT OF , BY and For the People !!!!!

Romney is a principled leader that recognizes the greatness of America and what it will take to turn things around. He’s been successful at everything he’s ever done.
Obama is enslaving our nation with debt and regulations that are killing jobs and the economy. Is it any wonder a community organizer would get it wrong and coming from Chicago, why would we expect any thing but sleazy Chicago style political tactics!
Obama is a proven liar and as usual, is blaming everybody else for his failed foreign and economic policies. Evil eats it’s own! Watch out things are about to get really ugly!

    • Michael J.

      Margo,
I know your heart is in the the right place. And yes things will improve if Rommney is triumphant. But it is peoples perception of what he will do that will create a temporary boost to the economy, not his actual deeds. The unseen, unelected trillionaires own both Obama and Rommney and are playing out a “Good-Cop/Bad-Cop” scenario in which we are the unwilling participants.

      • Coop

First one I’ve seen that mentions pretty much this is all a puppet master show and it is the rich. Parties are there just to separate the people being effected by laws and policies even further. Realize we are born into slavery to pay for the very power that is kept today. Personally after looking at all the facts I wish candidates like Ron Paul would be taken seriously, his warnings of what is actually happening at capital hill later in history will be as important to what’s left of us and our children as other major tragedies in Germany WWII. It can happen here, we lost all our rights with the Patriot act. I hope it all doesn’t happen again but that’s futile thinking this has been going on for thousand and thousands of years people…don’t name call, liberals, democrats and republicans we are all stuck in this fish bowl and are lucky the powers to be don’t flush most of us!

      • TexasRide

Michael, I know your heart is in the right place but…..did you ever consider that you just might be wrong about Romney…

Lets have some proof that Romney is owned by a shadow government… What in his life or what about this man makes you think he is not his own person!

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

        Coop,

There are a LOT of things that the majority of the US voters simply do not agree with Ron Paul on which is why he has not been a serious contender for President.

One of those issues is birth right citizenship.
~ He opposes it, the majority of us do not.

He wants to do away with the majority of US Departments, and cut funding for the EPA.
~ I remember the 1970′s. Cutting the EPA budget is not an option. Period.

He has pledged never to raise taxes, which is completely unrealistic.

He believes that the notion of the separation of church and state is currently misused by the court system.
~ The majority of voters believe that it hasn’t gone far enough.

He terms himself “strongly pro-life”, “an unshakable foe of abortion”, and believes regulation or ban on medical decisions about maternal or fetal health is “best handled at the state level”. His abortion-related legislation, like the Sanctity of Life Act, is intended to negate Roe v. Wade and to get “the federal government completely out of the business of regulating state matters.”.
~ The majority of us belief that this issue has no business at either the State or Federal level, but is between the patient and the Doctor ONLY.

Paul has stated that “The government shouldn’t be in the medical business.” ~ I agree. Which is why the Government has no business coming between a Doctor and Patient. Regulation of the insurance industry is a whole different ballgame.

He believes that the Government should be in the business of deciding what is socially acceptable.
~ I do not. Either everyone is equal under the law, or they are not. And there had better be a damn good reason for denying a group of people equality. “It’s against my beliefs” is simply not a good enough reason.

Paul considers Social Security unconstitutional, and he has sought for many years for the program to be phased out. He says that the Social Security system, which he has called “a giant Ponzi scheme,” is in “bad shape … The numbers aren’t there”; funds are depleting because Congress borrows from the Social Security fund every year to fund its budget. Paul’s 2013 budget proposal would guarantee to uphold Social Security commitments to older workers while allowing Americans under 25 to opt out of participating in the program.
~Well, now I know where that idiotic Ponzi scheme phrase came from. :-( The fact is that SSA works. It has worked for almost 80 years, and there is no reason to expect that it won’t continue working. What is needed is for the income cap to either be raised or removed. What is needed is for Congress to keep their hands off of the money in the fund.

~ As for it being Constitutional or not, Congress was given the right to raise and levy taxes. These are taxes. Enough said.

Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1 [Emphasis is mine]

        The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes TO LAY AND COLLECT TAXES, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

Those are just a few major reasons that I will never vote for him. I don’t trust him, and I trust his son even less.

      • Karolyn

Texas – Romney would not have gotten to where he is politically without being connected.

    • Daveh234

Romney has had little success if proof is needed to substantiate his affairs.
The documents from his term as governor are all wiped clean, as are the Olympics paperwork, all gone. Why would anyone hide their successes, if they were successes. What we do know is the State he ran had the 47th highest level of unemployment in the country during and after his term.

      • mjr47

Romney was working with an 85% Democratic Legislature. ANYTHING he was able to accomplish should be commended…unlike ‘berry’, who had a majority of Democratics to ‘support’ him when he took office…and look what they got done…nothing good.

Also, concerning the ‘numbers’…just seasonal, part time help. Probably got a push…if that’s even true, from just WalMart hiring help through the Holidays. WE won’t see that reflected in the lay off’s until after there’s nothing more to lie about and the election has already passed.

Those who aren’t doing their homework and are just crowing about the numbers aren’t paying attention to all the Businesses who are saying they will be shutting their doors…permanently… if ‘berry’ gets ’4 more years’. Coal mines will be shutting down and cutting back…laying off around 1,500 workers down south. Another manufacturing plant , saying another 1,500 lay off’s…but were asked to hold off on the ‘pink slips’ til after the election. Attorneys for ‘berry’ said they’d pay for the ‘technicality of law’ in having to give those notices and would cover any lawsuits. That’s OUR tax dollars that will pay for those settlements!!

Another 4 years will put us ALL on Govt ‘support’…the Fed can’t print enough money for ‘berry’ to cover it…it won’t matter by then anyway. ‘berry’s supporters WILL riot when they don’t get their monthly checks and free cell phones. THEY won’t be the ONLY ones out in the streets…we’ll ALL be there. Without anyone to tax, the Govt is going to come to a grinding HALT!!

Google pictures of the ‘Great Depression’ and then substitute YOURSELF in THOSE pictures because THAT’s what is coming, only on a much larger scale. Without a growing economy through JOBS, there is nothing that will stop it.

Romney is RIGHT, just as he was right about calling the murders at our embassy in Benghazi a terrorist attack. And just as he was right about the statement of the 47% still supporting ‘berry’…the numbers don’t lie. Only a turn around in our economy will change THAT statistical fact. We must give Romney a chance, because we already KNOW that we DON’T have a chance with ‘berry’!!

      • TexasRide

Daveh, what you didn’t say is that when Romney became governor the state was 49th.
It is all about what you people OMIT so that it will serve your purposes.

And, yes, Governor Romney had a majority of democrats in his administration. He had to compromise with them to get anything done..

      • eddie47d

Romney lied the the Democrats to get the job done. Hardly an honorable trait! He’s as tricky as Dicky was!

    • Nancy in Nebraska

I’m sorry, Margo. You are being naive! romney got where he is because of WHO he is, WHO his father was, and WHO he knows! All of these “connections” got him his fortune! If you look at how he really got his start, you would know that he is “one of them”. They are a protected class! Success is based upon favors, payoffs and crooked little legal tricks!!! He’s not the wonderful guy that he’s being portrayed as. He is one of the elite. He follows orders by those who really got him to where he is today! He is NOT one of us! He doesn’t care about us! He can’t even relate to us! He’s never spent ONE day of his life, worrying about how to pay the bills! Don’t fall for his nice guy routine! He takes his orders from above, NOT from you and me!!! The elite are in the process of transferring ALL of the wealth to THEMSELVES!!! DON’T be taken in by charm!!! BOTH romney AND obumass are OWNED!!! We would do well to recognize that fact!!!

      • mjr47

Nancy, you are right about one comment in your post …”He takes his orders from above”….It’s sad that you don’t realize the TRUTH in those words. Mitt is NOT a Globalist, NWO ‘shill’. He actually PRAYS for guidance, instead of getting advice from those who want to see the demise of America. His VP running mate is also a man of PRAYER. Just because they do not belong to the ‘religion’ that you may feel is ‘entitled to direction’ by the Holy Spirit, does not mean that God necessarily agrees with YOU!!

David was not a ‘perfect’ man…he had many ‘flaws’ yet God blessed him. HE knew his heart and knew his Greatness. HIS plan for David was much greater than he deserved. HIS plan for us ALL is much greater than WE deserve!!

Mitt Romney is a man…subject to ‘flaws’, imperfections and mistakes…GET OVER IT!! Romney is wealthy…VERY wealthy! You don’t seem to understand that wealth is not a character defect. God blessed David with more wealth than Mitt Romney will probably ever see in his lifetime. I’m not saying that Romney is David…I’m just using this as an analysis…a ‘point of reference’.

Have you ever served a two year mission, trying to share something that you believe in?? Would you have continued if people were rude…slammed the door in your face?? Have you EVER given away a fortune of inheritance?? Have you ever built a SINGLE business, let alone, MULTIPLE BUSINESSES, that employee tens of thousands of people?? There are bound to be failures with all of this success. THAT is inevitable.

Suspend your doubt and disbelief for a moment… Let’s say that …perhaps…just perhaps, Mitt Romney has been blessed with unique talents for just such a moment as this…to help this Nation. Let’s also presume that Barry Soetoro (or whatever his name really is) was ALSO put in his current position…a Goliath…to be an ‘instrument’ of turning the hearts and minds of America back to the God who Blessed this Nation. Since ALL things work to the Glory of God…this ‘might be a possibility’???

As I see it, we are floundering in a vast ocean…with sharks swimming all around us. We are all crying out to God…”Save us…Oh PLEASE, just save us…We PROMISE we will NEVER let this happen again…please, Dear God…save us…this one last time” and a rowboat comes along…or, it could even be just a piece of driftwood. Maybe you were praying for a luxury ocean liner…but all you get is what’s here…are you really going to turn it down??

I propose, that if you are drowning in an ocean…the storm clouds are gathering and the sharks are circling…you’d better climb into that rowboat and start paddling for all your worth!!

      • http://alsina846.wordpress.com Linda from NYC

        To Nancy,
Right now all we have is Mitt, only time will tell what he is, obama on the other hand, we know what he is, and he is a muslim communist who is out to destroy this country. I rather take my chances with a morom then with a muslim communist as I said before time will tell if he is a good man or not.

      • TexasRide

Nancy, I am sorry to hear that you are a Romney-hater. It sounds like you hate him because he is wealthy. He was born to wealth and didn’t have anything to say about it.

And just a big FYI, he doesn’t need to apologize to anyone, including you, that he has been successful. If you were in his place, I imagine that you would enjoy it. You would not give your wealth away so you could struggle… Poor, struggling men don’t become president! And, there is a reason for that.

We supposedly have a “poor struggling black man” as a fake president and you see what we have gotten because of that!

      • eddie47d

Texas: Nancy doesn’t like Romney or Obama and is her own woman. She sees the evil within both which you should be more attuned to.

      • Nancy in Nebraska

Ok, everybody! I’m NOT a Mormon hater and I DON’T hate rich people!!! Romney IS one of the elite! His connections go WAY back. Some of his early business dealings were very questionable! Look up and read how he “rescued” Bain and took it over! Romney was chosen as OUR candidate by the elite! He’s been running for years and the people have NEVER wanted him! But that’s who we got, take it or leave it!!! I’m betting you that Romney will win! Even though he’s been consistently behind. The elites have decided to let him have it so for the first time since obumass has been in office, the main stream media (owned by the elite) have been saying negative things about obumass! It was absolutely UNHEARD of before! Not only that, I believe that obumass was ordered to lose the debate! He has NEVER given a performance such as that! In the past when forced to speak without a TelePrompTer, he’s been able to memorize his lines. He practiced for this debate for a long time and I believe he lost on purpose! Nobody would just stand there looking down like, “aw shucks”! This whole thing is a scam! BOTH candidates are puppets of the elite!!! When Romney gets elected, nothing will change! Nothing will improve! Our economy has been destroyed and our country has been destroyed INTENTIONALLY!!! This is about power and control! Dont forget, BOTH parties voted for the patriot acts I and II, the NDAA, and the banker bailouts!!! This is not about US (republicans) vs THEM (democrats)! This is about US (the people) vs THEM (those with TRUE power who are destroying OUR country)!!! The two party system is an ILLUSION!!! NO ONE represents US!!! THAT’S why things aren’t getting better for US!!! If we don’t wake up and see the TRUTH, it will be TOO LATE!!!

    • Gordon

Margo, I believe that Romney is a good person with financial sense. Since idealism results in a perot victory, Romney is our hope. If zero re-ups, this Nation will fall.

You guys are only scared that you might have to start paying your fair share again. The “free ride” that Bush gave yall needs to end if we are going to rebuild our country. • Doug

You’re correct and it was Clinton who set up the eventual explosion in the housing
market before he left by offering “easy credit” so more people could get into the market.
It went great for a while and Realtors loved it, but the reality was that a large percentage
of those who got sub-prime marketing never should have been able to qualify. That was
one of Mr. Bill’s real nice legacies, but then again they keep blaming Bush.

      • eddie47d

That was mostly sinister Banksters Doug that screwed the housing market.

IF you think people got a FREE RIDE with Bush your opinion of OBAMA must be STELLAR! Obama doesn’t expect ANYBODY to work because he wants them DEPENDING on the government so he can maintain CONTROL of everyone.
You” MAMBY PAMBY” liberals are Idiots. but then I suppose that’s the reason you are liberals.

      • Larry King

Your wrong the socialist do expect everyone to work but only for the state and where they feel they need you. This way there rationing of medical, foods, housing and labor are under there total care. So it’s not quite accurate to say other wise.

    • Dussty1

“Fair share.” What the heck is that supposed to mean? I WORK and YOU TAKE. You know what’s fair? Get a job and take care of YOURSELF. You know what’s not fair? AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. That, my friend, is discrimination. Fair is when you compete on a level playing field and the most qualified person will get the job, PERIOD. I don’t care if it’s a man or a woman, or a black, hispanic or white. The MOST QUALIFIED.

Libs loves their Affirmative Action! There is nothing more racists than that. When libs start whining about conservative racism, just remind them of the most racist plot in the country…their beloved Affirmative Action. It should be abolished!

      • TexasRide

BTW, we have an Affirmative Action product in the oval office.

      • uvuvuv

obama was a lazy and indifferent student, both at occidental and columbia. at occy he was put in the losers dorm called the annex, where they segregated the failing druggie students to keep them from messing with the serious students. my guess is that he doesn’t want his grades released because he has no grades, all his classes were pass/fail. so how did he get into harvard? he applied for affirmative action admission. how did he pay for all this schooling with his father a failed bureaucrat in nairobi and his mother a low paid anthropologist in jakarta and his grandparents solidly in the upper lower class, if that? indeed how did he pay for his schooling expenses? sure, he probably got a/a grants but they won’t keep you in socks and underwear and ramen noodles. anyone have answers?

      • TexasRide

uv, about Harvard and omaumau’s mysterious admission without any qualifications, there was a Twenty-Million Dollar donation to Harvard from Saudi Arabia. It bought him his way into Harvard and guaranteed him a degree, no matter that he didn’t attend classes and the professors had to cover for him. (Actually this buying of degrees happen frequently.) People covered for him on the Harvard Review, as well. Omaumau didn’t do anything to deserve his law degree or his term in the oval office. He was picked to be where he is, and his career way laid out for him. It appears that all he did was go along for the ride, and the drugs, all the way to the White House.

Have we all forgotten that Clinton was spending us into oblivion when America voted in a Republican Congress led by Newt Gingrich in order to curtail his spending? Newt made him balance the budget for four years. Clinton was no great president. He was as bad as all the other democratic presidents. Have we all forgotten that Bush’s last two years was a Democratic Congress? Bush tried to get congress to investigate sub-prime loans but the Democratic Congress would not do it. Let We The People get it right this time.

Obama is currently spending at a rate 800% higher than was Clinton!

    • sancheleezy

Bill ( “I did not have sex with that woman”) Clinton, who told many a lie to anyone who would listen, was nothing but an opportunist, who had to deal with a Republican majority in both Houses of Congress. He realized that he could not ram any of his progressive legislation without a fight, did have to compromise and accept the terms he was presented with by those in Congress who kept him more “honest”, if the term used loosely, is possible. He even bombed an aspirin manufacturing plant in Africa, and nearly destroyed Yugoslavian countryside, because he did not want to commit troops to do his fighting there. The guy told us all that oral manipulation is not really having sex with another human being—so children go right ahead. What could be more intimate than having oral sex with another. He was nothing but another in the long line of immoral progressive fools that we have allowed to lead this country down the path of mediocrity.

Because people run out of benefits and/or just give up looking for work, the unemployment numbers are never accurate and are probably higher than reported. I doubt that when the unemployment numbers drop that they compare them to the number of people who go back to work. I’d be willing to be that they do not match. When people are out of work and are not getting unemployment benefits or looking for work, as far as the government is concerned, they do not exist.

    • old goat

When 20% of citizens are unemployed, those not looking or financially unable to look (financially can’t get to interviews, etc) are critical issues. When full in employment (3-4%), those not looking need not get unemployment or anything else. Have we no common sense left in society? Call liars what they are – warn fellow man of the danger!

  • Jeremy Leochner

The President is not cooking the books. If he was he would not be cooking the books in order to trick Americans into believing that unemployment has dropped by .3 percent since he came into office. Personally I see it as a step in the right direction. But it is still small. If the President was as sinister as Mr. Livingston claims he would make the unemployment numbers seem much less. Also I would point out according to the BLS the unemployment rate has been dropping for about a year now. And during that time many of the same conservative pundits now decrying the phony numbers used the BLS as a source to support their argument that Obama was a terrible President because unemployment was so high. Apparently its phony if it opposes what you believe. But it is evidence if it supports what you believe. Obama is not a phony. He has a lot of work to do to keep his promises. But he is not a evil conspirator against the American people. That is not naivety its reality.

    • Buster the Anatolian

Hosw convienently you ignore the fact that the actual unemployment rate is over 22% and do not even address the fact that the actual inflation rate is between 5% – 10% is not the 1.5% the government claims.

      • Kinetic1

        Buster,
First, your numbers are meaningless if you do not provide supporting evidence. And second, if the numbers are as skewed as you suggest, do you really believe this is something new. I recall experts on the left arguing that Bush’s unemployment numbers were also skewed and did not include those who had “fallen off” unemployment insurance. At the time Rush Limbaugh was calling this idea ridiculous, but now he sells the idea as fact.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting that the sins of one washes away the sins of another, but if both are guilty of the same shenanigans, than it stands to reason that President Obama inherited a much worse employment crises than was recorded and is likely in the same relative growth position as a percentage.

      • Michael J.

        Kenetic 1 said:
“Obama inherited a much worse employment crises”

If Obama is successfully re-elected on Nov.6th,(which I doubt) his favorite line, “I inherited a mess from the previous administration”, will finally have merit.

Even if your assertion were true in that the unemployment numbers are correct, it would create a glaring contrast amongst the daily plethora of lies that have become his trademark.

BTW, No, I will not provide stats… The burden of proof to the contrary shall be upon you…

      • Gordon

FACT= If you are not actually “drawing an unemployment check” you are NOT counted as unemployed….. PERIOD…… When your benefits run out and your check stops >>>you are NO longer counted as unemployed…… PERIOD….. Been told that by 5 offices in 2 states. Prove it to yourself. Pick any state and call their offices.

      • Gordon

In the tri-county area in which I live, last years figures stated that 53% are drawing some form of check “on the 3rd”, SS, SSI, SSD, food stamps, ADC, HUD, etc. Of the remaining population desiring gainful employment, the reported rate was 27% unemployed. There are also 460 empty houses locally because nobody can afford to rent them…. HUD pays more than the average “working person” can pay. You can’t pay $1,000 month rent and utilities if you make minimum wage and work part time.

      • Kinetic1

        Michael J,
If you have to chop up a sentence and take it out of context, well it doesn’t say much for the strength of your argument.

As for your refusal to offer evidence, in life as in law an assertion without proof is little more than a lie.

      • Buster the Anatolian

Kinetic if you had bothered to READ the article you would know where the numbers came from.

No ~ no, it not a waste of time to call attention to a false charges. ~ as so many of these Fox news types, these anti-education people, anti -social, pro their brand of faith Christians take “no opposition” as some sort of a validation as they attempt to spread their dysfunctional behavior , thoughts and ideas on the premise that it’s okay to say and do just about anything~ if no one is there to tell them otherwise.

Do not allow complacency to rule the day ~ as that is what got us here in the first place. Be untiring , kicking back the darkness, lighting a single candle at a time. Along the way, we too shall learn something that can never be taken away from us.

We have yet to begin to fight ~ I’m just getting my second wind and much better and wiser then I was just yesterday.

Do not be weak of heart and conviction on this day ~ the only day that matters, the only day that we can effect change, the only day we have in our possession. Soon enough this day will be history ~ let us make our history matter, knowing we stood up and faced the challenge and can sleep well knowing we were not found lacking is spirit and conviction.

My response to such a statement would vary to how I felt at the moment within the context of the thread.

How quick witted you are! Oh, I’ve been cut to the quick for certain!
The discussion here is unemployment, not rising prices. Yes, I understand that one does affect the other, but how exactly does my assertion that the method behind the numbers is nothing new lead to your implying that I am unaware of rising prices? Clearly, many of you on this site are as unaware of the facts as you accuse me of being, and you prove it by posting personal attacks, unrelated to the discussion.

      • Bill

To Kinetic – thanks for reminding us that a statement without fact is little more than a lie – sounds like harry Reid. Oh yes, and the statement that Obama would run the “most open and thical administration…” his actions are the evidence of his lies.
But since Bush was so bad, it is ok to vote for Obama. Is that the best logic you have?

      • Buster the Anatolian

Read the article Kinetic the discussion is about the article which includes both unemployment AND inflation.

      • Jeremy Leochner

There are two easy ways to go through life. Denying everything or believing every thing. My concern is Mr. Livingston is denying everything coming from the government even if it is true. I do not believe every thing coming from our government. But I also do not deny every thing. I fail to see how what I am suggesting is in any way childish or liberal. I believe political ideology plays no part in ones maturity or intelligence. Anyone is capable of being childish and foolish. Ideology plays no favorites.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Actually I have recently filled my gas tank hipshotpercusion. Forbes says that the primary reasons for rising gas prices are 1: Demand, 2: Global Politics, 3: Speculation, 4: Seasonal, 5: Fuel-Efficient Cars.-http://www.forbes.com/sites/eco-nomics/2012/03/05/five-reasons-gas-prices-rise/

I am pretty sure that other then speculation the President can do very little to affect gas prices either positively or negatively. And even in the case of speculation it is indirect because that is assumptions made by oil companies regarding his regulations and permits. And you know what they say about assuming.

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

Don’t forget the greed of the oil companies.

    • http://Yahoo KAM

AND…… apparently it’s a REALTY if you are a OBAMA SUPPORTER. Keep drinking that KOOLAID Liberal.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Forgive me KAM. When the reality I see is so completely different then what the Republicans tell me. Even when I look at various sources and compare what Republicans say with what the data shows. I believe the unemployment rate based on whatever variables are used to determine it is in fact what the BLS says. Do I throw up my hands and shout happy days are here again, no. I am not pleased that it has taken Obama so long to make the unemployment rate go done by so little. He has a long way to go to full fill his ambitious promises. But I am trying to be reasonable. A lowered unemployment rate is a good thing however small. Yet people are treating this not as a step in the right direction but as a conspiracy by the government. I believe that is not the case. I believe that if I am going to consider voting for someone other then Obama it should be based on mistakes he has made. Not conspiracy theories about what people “feel” like he has done.

      • http://charter dave

jeremy l. you are the one being an obamabot, do you for one second believe the jobless numbers magically fell 3 weeks before election. even his 1st debate suggested he was cowing because he had no record to run on. you worry about 7.8% rate when reaklity is above 20% what a dweeb. obama is to be the death of the greatest country that ever was if re-elected.

      • Jeremy Leochner

I believe the jobless rate magically fell three weeks before the election just like it magically has been steadily going down for about a year now. Also I believe the jobless rate magically went down three weeks before the election at the same time that people start hiring seasonal workers for the thanksgiving and christmas holidays.

    • American 1st

      Dear Democrat Leochner -

I believe the 22% (if not higher) rate. Did you know that Independent Contractors cannot collect Unemployment and are not counted on the Unemployment rolls? These include people that work for themselves, are not an employee of a company.

      • Guest

        rIGHT ABOUT THAT.
I have been an independent for years and apart from paying all my own SS, not once can we get any unemployment nor help. Apparently, for government we do not exist except to pay.

      • http://yahoo Charles Arthur Williams

American 1st: You are incorrect ! As a contractor, you can draw unemployment if you’ve paid into it ! Most don’t because because as a contractor you pay a higher % for yourself than you do for your employees ! And the overall % will be higher when you get more work !

      • http://yahoo Charles Arthur Williams

Guest: Did you pay into unemployment ? Its not about SS, unemployment is its own program ! Its been a few years since I’ve drawn, But I did pay in for myself so I could !
I’ve regretted it at times because the % rate for my guys went up, and I’ve paid more in the long run, and paid much more than I’ve drawn !

      • Johnny

and the reason for that is because their employer, whoever that may be, doesnt pay unemployment taxes on their wages. Which is why they are contractors…..because the person hiring them KNOWS the job is temporary and it doesnt make sense to have your account get charged more when you already know in advance you are hiring someone to work temporary. Man, for you people thinking you know everything, you really dont know anything.

      • Gordon

        Hoping to be redundant =

Self Employed is the ONLY FREEDOM we have.

Job= just over broke….. Your JOB boss dictates your entire life…. when to wake up, when to go to sleep, where you live, when you eat, what you eat, where your kids go to school, what you drive, when you can take a vacation, etc…… THINK ABOUT IT

      • Jeremy Leochner

Actually I am not a Democrat. I am an independent. And no I did not know that. Perhaps there are inconsistencies unemployment figures. After all isn’t the unemployment rate just the people who are unemployed but seeking work. I will not deny that the actual rate is probably higher. But then it always has been. Yet some how it suddenly has become a conspiracy to hid the truth and fool the public. Inconsistencies do not equal conspiracy.

      • daves

As an independent contractor you are responsible for paying your own taxes, Social Security, unemployment taxes, workers’ compensation, health insurance, and other benefits. In addition, you and your client should understand the differences between an independent contractor and an employee, as well as your legal rights and responsibilities

I know one anti-gov. anti-taxes guy who worked “self employed= off the books” for 35 years, never paying taxes or SS. Now he’s in his late 60s disabled and bitches daily how the gov. is screwing him making him live on 600 per month SS plus food stamps, medicaid, etc. and he has to buy his own medicine. He recently spent 90 days in hosp rehab on medicaid/ free. He refuses VA help. mmmmmm

You are dreaming, this man is the worst president that this country has ever seen, he has done more to hurt this country than any other and all other presidents together. I hope this Great Nation wakes up and realizes that they have been duped. Look at his back ground, and his associates.

    • Dussty1

How can you defend Obama? Does it not bother you that can’t say ANYTHING without a teleprompter? All of the bald-faced lies coming from Alexrod, Biden, Cutter and Wasserman-Schultz make me SICK. What’s happening in this country is real. The high unemployment and cororuption in Washington is killing this country and the world knows it. We should all be pulling together to try to do what’s best for the country, and that begins with putting someone else in the White House who will try to right the ship of state before we go over the fiscal cliff. I hope it’s not too late.

Time to dust off the cob webs for it is Congress that is now derailing our economy. In 2007 it was manipulative economics on Wall Street that did so. Interest rates are down taxes have been stable or low for the last few years and the business engines of America still aren’t doing their part.

      • Jeremy Leochner

With respect Dusty he can say things without teleprompters. And I can defend him for doing things I believe are good for this country like the repeal of Don’t ask Don’t tell. He has made mistakes and like you pointed out he and his staff have lied. But for me its an issue of lesser of two evils when I compare Obama and Biden with Romney and Ryan who have not exactly set a record for truth telling.

    • Charles

You are right, Barry isn’t cooking the books; he has his henchmen do it for him.

    • Robert Smith

“The phony jobs numbers issued last week ”

Why don’t you claim that all those forclosures precipitated by the Bush administration were lies too?

Why don’t you proclaim that the bad employment numbers were a lie and we are actually doing much better?

Sheesh… Revel in the bad numbers and when they get just a little better claim they are a fraud. THAT is where the lie is.

      Rob

      • Bill

        Robert,
You are showing your ignorance to people who know the facts. Bush had nothing to do with the housing bubble. It was part of the community reinvestment act, started under Carter, finessed under Clinton and implemented through Barney Frank when he was the head of Fannie Mae, They mandated that banks reduce their lending requirements to encourage housing for the poor.

It created a feeding frenzy that made the market rise way out of proportion to peoples incomes and thus greated a bubble that was destined to crash.

So quit spouting political rhetoric that you heard on the news and learn the facts

      • Ted Crawford

Something that makes me leary of these numbers is the fact that the U-6 was UNEFFECTED by this hugh improvement in the U-3!
As many have stated, correctly, no President ever mentions the U-6, that just may be why they failed to tweek it to match the U-3, thinking no one would even bother to check!

      • TexasRide

Bush tried to warn congress Seventeen times that there was a big problem with Fannie and Freddie…Of course Barney (the one supposedly in charge of the entire debaucle) said everything was “just fine!” Why has toothless Barney escape responsibility for what ensued? Because you can bet that all of congress was in on it and profited from the housing fraud..Livingston gave a very accurate description of what we have in Washington running our government..

      • Patriot

        Because Robert,

Bush is not the President! Keep your head buried in the sand and make sure you show up to Vote the 2nd Tuesday in November.

      • TML

“Why don’t you claim that all those forclosures precipitated by the Bush administration were lies too? ”

I believe Mr. Livingston did exactly that…

        [from the article]
“…meaning Obama is using the same method of concealing true unemployment as the hated Bush.

According to Shadowstats, data manipulation has its roots in the Richard Nixon Administration.”

      • Gordon

Supreme Court Justice Barney Frank, Supreme Court Justice Nancy Pelosi…. SCJ Hillary, SCJ Rahm Emmanuel…………… (terrified yet?)

      • Kinetic1

        Bill,
Bush had nothing to do with low income minorities buying homes?

“but George W. Bush has not forgotten the great American dream of homeownership.
On Saturday, Bush used his weekly radio address to launch a campaign he will pursue this week to help low-income Americans, particularly minorities, attain that goal.”
        http://articles.latimes.com/2002/jun/16/nation/na-bush16

The push to see more low income families purchase homes was one of President Bush’s biggest PR moments. He even offered government assistance to help pay for the down payment, a major hurdle that kept many people from getting in over their heads.

Now don’t misunderstand me, I’m not suggesting that Bush is responsible for the whole mess, only that he added to it. The real culprits are the investment houses who bundled these bad loans with good loans, then sold them as AAA investments all over the world. How do they then turn a profit?
“Stuff a portfolio with risky mortgage-related investments, sell it to unsuspecting customers and bet against it.
Citigroup on Wednesday agreed to pay $285 million to settle a civil complaint by the Securities and Exchange Commission that it had defrauded investors who bought just such a deal.”
        http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/20/business/citigroup-to-pay-285-million-to-settle-sec-charges.html?_r=2&hp

Follow this up by blaming the people who you gave the loans to, pay your shills on the radio and TV to sell this idea, turn to the Government to cover any losses you may have incurred and you have a winning game!

    • Strongman

      U butthead!!!!

    • Patriot1776

Leochner says “And during that time many of the same conservative pundits now decrying the phony numbers used the BLS as a source to support their argument that Obama was a terrible President because unemployment was so high. ” The argument isn’t that obama is a terrible President because unemployment was so high, but rather unemployment is so high because obama is a terrible imitation of a President. You say he has a lot of work to do to keep his promises? He doesn’t even know what he has promised or who he promised it to. He says that he wants to protect the middle class, yet has done absolutely nothing – from job creation to taxes to help the middle class. He has prevented middle class jobs in refusing to permit the oil pipeline to be built, in over-regulating coal fired electricity, in allowing the EPA free reign to destroy business opportunities, in everything that he has done or failed to do.

Perhaps, if this country is dumb enough to allow him another 4 years to implement his agenda, he will be able to actually work on something because he won’t have to campaign again.

      • Ted Crawford

Perhaps more importantly Patriot, he dosen’t care that he has forgotten and dosen’t know what he promised. What he does know is that his constitutes don’t know!
It didn’t come up on the last episode of ‘Family Guy’ nor during the last Playoff Game, or for his female constitutes, on their latest viewing of “As the Stomach Turns” or “Edge of Nausea” !
They will ‘ remember’ as soon as he tells them, or gives them their free Phone, or free birth control medicine, or Unemployment for life! See Obama delievers !

      • S. Johnson

Like the people threatening workers to vote for Romney, this is another blustering tactic and a way over the top overexaggeration. If you notice commercials on TV, overexaggerating is how people get their point across but they aren’t always realistic. What you see in some of these commercials is as far away from reality as one can get but they do get tend to get a point across. It just seem that we have lots of people here who’d do great in putting together commercials but they’re out of touch with the real world.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Patriot. The EPA and other government regulation are done in the attempt to prevent pollution and other potential hazards. It can be over zealous but in the attempt lies Obama’s desire to help. As for the pipeline I would point out the danger of Oil Spills as well as the danger to the environment. Jobs are important. I am no hippie tree hugger. But I would rather be able to breath and drink clean water then have a job. Call me crazy but my health comes first.

      • Patriot1776

Jeremy, I fully understand the intent of the EPA and all of the alphabet government regulation enforcers. The facts are, they are way out of control. The cost of their ever-more strangling regulation is what drives manufacturing jobs overseas. You may prefer breathing clean air to having a job, but I have a family to support, a house to pay for, bills to pay, so I don’t have the luxury of deciding that I want to keep living in my parent’s basement and not get a job.

      • Jeremy Leochner

I can respect that Patriot. Maybe my issue is the linking of jobs with lessening regulations. The intention off regulations, EPA specifically, is to prevent pollution. Why is it that creating jobs would require pollution. Maybe that is the key issue. If there was a way to hire people without causing increased pollution. And at the same time for me there is the problem with manufacturers sending jobs over seas because they cannot pollute as much as they wish. I want all American workers to have and keep their jobs. But I do not want to place trust in “job creators” who appear to only be in it for the money.

      • Patriot1776

Jeremy, there is no way to have sustainable manufacturing jobs and no pollution. There is a limit to the ability to filter out the byproducts of every reaction, it is part of basic chemistry.
Manufacturers do not send jobs overseas because they cannot pollute as much as the wish. They send jobs overseas because the cost of meeting the demands of the EPA here drives their cost of production so high that they can’t compete with manufactures from other countries that do not have to meet EPA standards.

You say “But I do not want to place trust in “job creators” who appear to only be in it for the money.” I would not trust “job creators” who are not in it for the money. That is how jobs are created.

      • TexasRide

Jeremy, the EPA has evolved into something being used to destroy this country. It is under the guise of saving the planet that our freedoms are being taken away. EPA is a key to many of the progressives (retros) plans.

The EPA needs to be abolished! It has become an independent organization with nearly unlimited power! It makes it own laws ( the ideology of this administration) and then has the power to force those laws on Americans. If an American doesn’t comply the EPA has the unfettered power to do whatever necessary to bring that individual to his knees!
These people are way too powerful and a tool being used to take this country apart.
The UN and its Agenda 21 does basically the same thing. The UN uses their green ideology as a reason to promote many of their pending mandates to be applied worldwide.
We know that these mandates are all about redistributing the wealth from the European countries and the U.S.

EPA is an agency gone rogue and it is an arm of the progressives.

      • tony

Heck yes Texas Ride , that UN Agenda and Obamas support of it needs YOU and All to sign this Petition please , http://dickmorris.rallycongress.com/8064/sign-petition-against-un-imposed-tax-on-internet/

      • Jeremy Leochner

With respect Tex “EPA is an agency gone rogue and it is an arm of the progressives.” So it is apparently both powerful and independent and yet still an arm of the progressives. Apparently environmentalism is progressive. The problem with abolishing the EPA is there would then be no regulatory mechanism for monitoring pollution. Companies would simply do as they wished the way they did before the EPA was created. Regardless of the damage to the environment and the health risks it would pose both to their employees and the general public.

Omaumau is really into redistributing the wealth. How do you think he purchased his “Estate in Hawaii!” .

You can bet the American taxpayers have paid for that just like everything else omaumau and moocher enjoy,

He throws our money around to other criminals and then he probably gets Forty-Percent of it back under the table…

      • Gea

Obama is a very rich dude whose stories (lies about his life and dreams of his father) had made his a multimillionaire. He never was a poor black but a privileged kid who grew up with his white mother and with his white grandparents who sent him to private schools. His father (if the Kenyan was really his father and not his tutor, Frank Marshall Davis a member of a Hawaiian Communist Party) was a Marxist Muslim who got scholarship during Kennedy time and his mother was a sociologist in Indonesia, after she married another Muslim Marxist Satoro and moved to Indonesia. BTW, older Satoro was a spokesman for oil industry, which Obama hides as well as his riches and support for corporations, which enabled him to deceive Americans in 2008.

Biden was a Senator from Delaware, which is a headquarters for insurance industry and other corporations. Obamacare is a scam designed to enlist more Americans to support insurance and pharmaceutical companies and hospitals CEOs and CEO lavish live styles at the expense of working Americans who will HAVE to buy their ridiculously expensive “insurance”. Obama is a rich traitor of American values in addition to subverting US Constitution in order to please his Muslim Brotherhood friends, so that Americans do nto find out that Islam is unsuitable for human consumption and that Mohamed was a pedophile, polygamist, rapist and murderer, that in any decent society would be tried as a criminal he was and not adored as a role model by 1.4 BILLIONS of Muslims around the world. Since Americans are waking up, Obama will be a goner next month unless he manages to cheat in elections by an extremely high number of absentee ballots requests.

      • TexasRide

Sorry, but I don’t believe in your theory that omaumau grew up, “a rich kid!” He grew up on the streets of a third-world country, hence his hatred for European Colonialism. He went to school in the madrassa, the school where the moos teach kids to hate infidels.
What I do believe is that as a kid, he grew up with “hate” in most every aspect of his life..

      • Nadzieja Batki

TexasRide, Gea is probably closer to the truth about O. The thought that O could be of a particular type called “the spoiled rich kid” gives you pose because of O and his self proclamation that he is one of the people.

Romney has cannibalized several companies without regret. Shame on that exploitation of the American worker and the greed that Bain used in doing so.

    • http://PersonalLibertynews Herbert Davis

It is a fact that Obama and his staff is lying and covering up the truth. He has no plan of stopping the lies, because if he does it will damsge his re-election. America do not need a lier in the white house.

    • DaveH

Jeremy (aka Flashman) says — “If the President was as sinister as Mr. Livingston claims he would make the unemployment numbers seem much less”.
There does come a point where even the brain-dead Liberal Progressive followers will no longer swallow the lies, Jeremy (aka Flashman). So even Obama has to avoid lying too dramatically.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Okay Dave so he is going to lie to make America believe that he is great because he managed to drop the unemployment rate an extraordinary .3 percent in four years. How exactly does that improve his chances when even I the brain dead liberal Obama fanatic you have often claimed I am believe that it is small potatoes and that he has much more to do. There is a problem with the whole “avoid lying too dramatically” idea. This lie is putting me to sleep. So it is hard to believe Obama is putting any effort into a lie that does not impress me at all. And if he is I do not think he is much of a threat since few Americans are impressed with his lie. And for the record I do not believe it a lie. I just believe it is an unimpressive truth.

      • DaveH

You sure are spending a lot of time trying to convince people that little lies aren’t important, Jeremy (aka Flashman).

      • Jeremy Leochner

I am trying to convince people that if this is a lie it is a little lie and not a massive conspiracy. There is a difference between a lie born of stupidity and a lie born of conspiracy. I am saying that if these job numbers are a lie they are a lie born of stupidity not conspiracy. I do not believe people should be perceiving as a threat some thing that appears to present no threat.

    • EHeassler, USN-Ret.

Since the 7.8% unemployment figure was released, it has been disclosed that the figure did not include one of the nation’s most populace states. The smart money is on California as the state failing to report its unemployment numbers which would more than account for the decrease. Personally, I don’t believe much of the economic drivel released by this administration as it has shown its proclivity for lying and obscuring the truth about all aspects of its record. Oh, yes, I forgot; Bin Laden is dead. But then again, Barry didn’t do that.

    • DaveH

Jeremy (aka Flashman) says — “And during that time many of the same conservative pundits now decrying the phony numbers used the BLS as a source to support their argument that Obama was a terrible President because unemployment was so high”.
Yes, intelligent people would choose numbers which are claimed by biased Government agencies to support their claims, even though the real figures are much worse, so that even the brain-dead Liberal Progressive followers could not deny them.
Your arguments are fallacious, Jeremy (aka Flashman). What else could we expect from a non-credible administration shill who assumes multiple personalities?

      • Kate 8

DaveH – A bit off-subject, but you need to see this. Too much is coming out to be shocked, but I was disheartened to say the least.

        http://occupycorporatism.com/blueseed-floating-bilderberg-cities-where-the-elite-control-the-masses/

The Libertarian party was founded by and is controlled by the same corporate, global elite who control the main parties. The founder is a Bilderberg. Any ideas we have about Libertarians restoring freedom is illusion.

The elite have not missed a trick.

      • Jeremy Leochner

So you can use government sources to support your argument when it suits you, but denounce those same sources when it does not. And you expect me to still trust you. Forgive my being a government shill but to me it seems a little disingenuous and hypocritical.

      • DaveH

        “Kate 8″?
Yeah sure. The Libertarians are working to convince people that Big Government is bad, so they can benefit from Big Government? That’s a stretch, “Kate 8″.
By the way, your author can’t even spell Libertarian, and we’re supposed to believe that he knows all about us?

      • DaveH

Obviously Jeremy (aka Flashman) two personalities (and more) are not better than one.
If you want to repeat the same old nonsense over and over, thinking that people will eventually believe you, you need to go to one of the Liberal Progressive websites where emotions and name-calling substitute for logic.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Dave since I first spoke with you you have said many of the same things. Is that what you are trying to do, repeat things till people believe them. Did it ever occur to you that I believe what I say. If I believe the sky is blue and I hear people saying it is green. If it is in fact blue I am going to continue to say it is blue. I believe what I say and will continue to make my case so long as I believe I am making a valid case. I am fairly sure Dave that as long as you believe some thing you will stand by it, will you not.

      • Kate 8

DaveH – Actually, that’s about the response I expected.

I’d want to investigate further before I decided it’s false. These masters of deception have co-opted every movement of the people. It’s not such a stretch that they would want to control a movement such as the Libertarian one. They know people are fed up with the R/L game, and a viable third party would be the way to scoop up the strays.

It doesn’t matter what any of us believe, DaveH. All that matters is what’s true.

      • Kate 8

DaveH – I don’t care about clinging to cherished beliefs. I want truth.

I did a search on “peter thiel founder libertarian party” and came up with quite a lot. I havent read it all yet, but he’s also the founder of PayPal and a mega rich elite. I do plan to get to the bottom of this.

Democrats defend their party right or wrong. I just want to know the truth. There is no percentage in holding on to a lie.

      • eddie47d

You don’t care about the truth Kate 8 because you just lied. “Democrats …whether right or wrong”. If you cared about the truth you’d be slamming the Republicans against the wall and making sure it sticks.

      • DaveH

What state do you live in Kate?

The founder of the Libertarian Party was David Nolan. Where is your evidence that David Nolan was a Bilderberg? Obama IS a traitor of American values, which was demonstrated by his allowing the genocidal supremacist misogynist Muslim Brotherhood into the White house and giving them $1,500 millions for their war on women of Egypt and war on Israel. It is clear that he is a traitor by his attempts to subvert US Constitution under the guise of “respect for Islam”.

Obama is a great story teller whose “taqiyya” (lies demanded by Koran of Muslims when living among non-Muslims) had managed to seduce Americans who allowed him into the White house where he does not belong, both because of his incompetence (he is a clear product of “affirmative action”) and because he is a true believer of two ideologies incompatible with good society: Marxism and Islam, both supremacist ideologies which lead to poverty, misery and tyranny where ever applied.

Obama is helping his Muslim friends to subvert US Constitution in order to prevent Americans from finding out that Islam is a supremacist ideology similar to Nazi supremacist ideology that has no place in any society that respects liberty and human rights. Islam promotes pedophilia, polygamy, misogyny, dhimmitude and murder for Allahu Akbar, and creates lots of angry young abused Muslim men who are told that murdering Jews and Americans will buy them a ticket to Muslim Paradise with 72 virgins adn 12 prepubescent boys. Jerry Sundasky should have moved to Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan where he could legally have up to 4 wives at a time (Osama bin Ladin had 27 total), and an unlimited supply of young boys and girls which is allowed under sharia practiced in many Muslim -majority countries.

Islamic teachings are the ROOT cause of current day terrorism, which is financed by the Saudis and Iranians with the money that we pay for their oil. Yet, Barak Hussein Obama bowed to the Saudi King whose subjects committed crimes of 9/11. Obama does not belong to America and should go to his Muslim Brothers in Egypt and/or his Saudi king.

Obama governs like a Little Spoiled Rotten Brat with all these executive orders going around the Congress that represents the Voice of the American People !!!

That is the sign of a Dictator who wants to Silence your voice with his Ideological View of how the USA needs to be ran , so reelect the dictator in Chief and see if you keep your liberty in his second term !!!!

      • Gea

Unfortunately, Barak Hussein Obama is such a skillful story teller that many Americans still fall for his lies (taqiyya, which is requirement demanded of all Muslim when living among non-Muslims). Once Muslims get into over 10% in any community they start terrorizing this community, as they are doing in Europe and Detroit. Islam is the ROOD cause of current day terrorism and having a supporter in the White house makes it easier to destroy Western civilization as they openly proclaim in the charter of Muslim Brotherhood.

One does not expect an American President to promote a religion (and certainly not a supremacist ideology of Islam) and subvert US Constitution in order to cover up how vile Islamic teachings really are. Read Koran and Hadith and learn about the history of Islam and Mohamed to understand that US is under attack by Islam, covered up by Barak Hussein Obama who is a danger not only to US but the entire Western civilization. Mohamed who was accurately depicted in a movie that “provoked” Muslim mobs around the world, was a pedophile, polygamist, rapist and murderer who in any decent society would be tried for his crimes and not emulated as a role model by 1,400 millions of Muslims around the world. Obama is a traitor and should resign for his role in the murder and rape of the US ambassador in Libya.

Obama said himself he came in to office the economy was in the worst shape imaginable. unemployment was 7.8%. he promised us if we give 800 billion it would never go above 8% and in 4 years be 5% he lied. It rose up beyond 10% and stayed at above 8%. apparently things got worse. so even to to believe the #s means things have not gotten better, at most the are only the same. In other words the worst shape imaginable. even if I could believe the numbers all I can say is this is all we get for 6 trillion spent in 4 years? It’s time to change the change to a change we can believe in.

      • http://dinojay52.wordpress.com dinojay52

There are losers and there are sore losers. There’s nothing worst than a whining, sniffing sore loser. The numbers are what they are. I guess the only acceptable numbers would have been bad ones and that’s not the purpose of statistics. It’s not there to appease any one group of people, like it or not. They just tell it like it is without bias.

      • tony

It won’t matter Obama has Failed as President of the FREE Market , he has Only Taken away FREEDOM in Capital Formation and gave it to the Federal Reserve and the 2 big 2 fail Banking sector that is benefiting from the Zero Interest rate policy of the Shariah Federal Reserve !!!!!

      • Patriot1776

Don, the saying goes “Statistics don’t lie, but liars use statistics”. By picking and choosing which numbers to include and which to exclude you can abuse statistics and support anything. In this case, the 7.8% was generated with data missing from an entire state. Setting aside whether the seasonal adjustments or any other manipulation exists, it wasn’t complete to start with.

The facts are, you have to understand where the numbers come from for them to have any meaning.

Statistically, half of all people are below average.

    • http://yahoo. voncile

has he not had four years to do what he so promised the people he would do and he still has not cleaned up anything and as far as the percentage of unemployment it is way down don’t know where you have been these last four years the South has a very low unemployment

      • Patriot1776

If you have a 4 year term, you can’t wait until 3 years and 11 months to start working. He had 2 years with democratic control of the House and the Senate. He has had an opportunity to do the job he was given. He just is not the man to be President of the United States.

        Unemployment is low in the South? Georgia – 9.2%, Alabama – 8.5%, Mississippi – 9.1%, Texas – 7.1%, Tennessee – 8.5%, North Carolina – 9.7%, South Carolina – 9.6% ( each statistic from the individual state DoL).

      • Deerinwater

” He had 2 years with democratic control of the House and the Senate. He has had an opportunity to do the job he was given. ”

Maybe you are not familiar with Joe Lieberman? Maybe you are not aware that it’s not uncommon for democrats to vote what is best for the people they represent rather then what is best for the democratic party?

Maybe you are not aware that many give Bill Clinton’s economic success to Ronald Reagan for setting the stage that it could be possible for Bill Clinton administration to do well?

Maybe you are not aware of how national politics actually works, that the first two years of any administration requires filling potions including inner counsel while coming under constant and unrelenting GOP fire since the first day in office. Even still , much was accomplished by 44 his first 2 years.

That you refuse to know of it or recognize it ~ is only your lacking as the places that you frequent to find current events excludes any and all of Barack Obama’s success and only highlights his perceives lacking and failures as a human being an a American with great embellishment. You frequent such places only because they tell you what you want to hear. You don’t really want to hear about news ~ you want to feel good and justified with your thoughts.

So what part of your commentary do you wish to defend?

      • tony

Deerinwater Obama filling the Administration appointments and CZARS with ANTI Free Market Ideologues who think Earth Needs to be depopulated is why this President needs to be Impeached for High Crimes against Humanity .

      • Deerinwater

Tony, ~ prior to Obama , ~ they were referred too as Presidential Appointments , of which my family held such title under Reagan.

And as far a “Free Markets” goes ~ ~ there has not been a true free markets for over a hundred years.

Free markets ~ means many things to many people. ~ To some people it mean that they can, lie cheat and steal . take what is not their to take, use what is not their to use.

Obama and his cabinet has had little to do with this ~ regardless of what you have been told.

There are few things that are actually “free” Tony ~ for now ~ Air is Free ~ clear Air however~is not.

      • Frank Kahn

You are correct, we have not had a free market economy.

You are however mistaken in your assertion that, to some, free market means the freedom to lie, cheat and steal. That is simply a criminal mindset and cannot be attributed to the term free market. Those people will think it is okay to do those things even in communism.

Free market simply means WITHOUT ARTIFICIAL REGULATION, meaning that the market pressures will balance the system without outside interference.

      • deerinwater

Of course, you are correct Frank, I was reading local news this morning and an article caught my attention, about “Food Trucks” ~ Mobil food vendoring in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. ~ The slight shifting of local regulations ~ the growth of 68 trucks ~ to 189 trucks in a matter of a just a few years. ~ The impact that it has to brick and mortar business ~ The up side , the down side. ~ the bottle neck, ~ the start up cost. ~ It is a regulated market, ~ it’s “free” ? ~ only to those wiling to work hard and venture the start up cost from 80,000 to 150,000 dollars ~ that is a lot of Nachos and Grill cheese sandwiches.

It has to be regulated ~ in various ways ~ to make it fair for those that have already invested and for those that toy with the idea of investing and it must also be fair for people that open, staff and maintain a fixed store front and done so for several years.

The bottleneck today? ~ the trucks.

As for myself, I aspire to own a bucket truck and do high maintenance, a gap that I see a need for and can fill, yet that too is regulated in many ways by city and state licenses and trade affiliations. Just obstetrical to overcome and prevent the less determined and less qualified from entering the market.

If you wish to command $125.00 per hour, it comes at a price.

      • Frank Kahn

I thought at first maybe you were reasonable, then you took a nose dive.

Free market capitalism CANNOT FUNCTION WITH REGULATIONS. It is regulation that kills capitalism. You made a funny kind of statement which isnt funny at all since it reeks of elitism.

Regulations, as you put it, are there to keep us worthless, spineless, lazy poor people in line?
Regulations are needed to protect the corporations?
Regulations are there to protect people who already have a business so they dont get new competition?

What part of SELF REGULATING do you not understand? Without outside interference, by government or any other person or group, a free market will prosper as will everyone who participates in it.

Yes, starting a new business requires money and hard work but, that is not a roadblock to doing it. Your example of the business you want to start is hampered by state regulations, these make it more expensive than necessary as well as discouraging some people with truly great innovative ideas. A prime example of regulations destroying opportunities for people who would make our economy stronger.

      • Patriot1776

deerinwater – maybe I am aware of Joe Lieberman, maybe I do know how our government works, maybe I do get the news from various sources and make my own judgements formed on sorting the facts from the fiction. The fact is that if a man takes the job of President of the United States he either needs to lead this nation and be able to work with the system that is in place, or transform the system into what it needs to be. Obama has not shown any ability or willingness to work within the system of government, to lead Congress or any portion of this country in a direction that is beneficial to any American. He has failed to protect the middle class that he claims he wishes to help, he has failed to create jobs that he has claimed he wants to create, he has failed to turn the economy around or do anything other than successfully fund raise for his campaign.

He is a failure by any relevant measure of success for President.

      • deerinwater

“Obama signed the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) with Russia as part of his push to reduce the emphasis on nuclear weapons in the U.S. and Russia’s deterrence strategies. In the 2010 Nuclear Posture Review (NPR), the administration sought to limit the role of the U.S.’s nuclear deterrent by declaring the U.S. will not use or threaten the use of nuclear weapons against non-nuclear states that are party to the Non-Proliferation Treaty.”

“Outcome: Outside right-wing organizations like the Heritage Foundation opposing the treaty, the Senate consented to its ratification and Obama signed New START, completing the ratification process, on February 2, 2011. The treaty requires that both Russia and the U.S. reduce their nuclear warhead arsenals to 1,550 each, a 30 percent reduction from the 2002 Treaty of Moscow and a 74 percent reduction from the 1991 START treaty.”

“Obama’s Policy: Strengthen America’s military and intelligence relationship with Israel. In an interview in August, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said, “I can hardly remember a better period of support, American support and cooperation and similar strategic understanding of events around us than what we have right now.” According to one Israeli official, that coordination is now “even better than under President Bush.”

“Outcome: While there has been tension between the U.S. and Israel, over the settlement issue, this should not obscure the otherwise overwhelming support that President Obama has given Israel. The Wall Street Journal reported that, under Obama, “U.S. military aid to Israel has increased markedly,” an effort that stems from policy directives the White House gave the Pentagon early in Obama’s presidency to “deepen and expand the quantity and intensity of cooperation to the fullest extent.” Importantly, Obama has increased the level of strategic dialogue and the depth of intelligence coordination between the U.S. and Israel, particularly regarding Iran,”

Obama’s policy: Early in his presidency, Obama promised that U.S. troops would end combat missions by late summer 2010. Combat missions formally ended on August 31, 2010. On October 21, 2011, following Iraqi parliament’s unwillingness to support an extension of immunity for U.S. military personnel, Obama announced that all U.S. troops will be out of Iraq by the end of the year.
GOP’s response: Despite the fact President Bush signed an agreement to withdraw all U.S. troop from Iraq by 2012, Republicans called the decision an “astonishing failure” and claimed Obama “lost the war in Iraq.” Despite once hailing the agreement signed by the Bush administration outlining the process of U.S. troop withdrawal,”

Would you be more likely to vote, the survey asked, for a candidate who said we should help the middle class by stressing growth and opportunity, or by making sure the rich paid their fair share of taxes. The former won by 76 to 20 percent. Other answers indicate that respondents don’t mind the rich paying higher taxes, and even generally back the idea. It’s just not very interesting to them. They’re far more interested in growth than fairness.

Jeremy, you are blind as a bat. first mr oboma is a fake, please just look at all his records like certificate of live birth which is altered to the hilt, s/s# altered to the hilt, selective service # altered to the hilt, will not disclose college records, as it will show him coming to the United States as a foreign student, the take a look at what one trillion dollars looks like standing next to a man,,,,,,then times it by 6 and tell me he is not trying to break the system. Second, he is a community service organizer, what could he possibly solve, and he is a muslism that lies about what he is and with a middle name like hussain, what could possibly go wrong. Americans are the biggest bunch of idiots I have ever wittnessed in my life time and leochner your right up there with them. A vote for mr oboma is a vote for muslims, so make sure it’s ok for a grown man to marry your 8 year old daughter dumb buts

The reason for the 7.8 unemployment number is that California did not get its numbers turned in on time and so they went with zero when they did the formula. Just in time for the VP debate. The correct number will not show until after the election.

    • Roberta Schoen

Wake up…He is a master of deception, greed and illegal pandering…One way to tell if he is lying….Are his lips moving???….

    • daves

      What evidence do you have?

Republicans keep making this claim without facts to back it up so that people like you will believe it.

The article says the unemployment number is meaningless. Then why did they write an article about it?

      • tony

Evidence you want it well here it is , He is running everything on a Shariah Federal Reserve QE Zero Interest Policy and Obamas Plans will not sustain what he has given you because he cannot tax the rich hard enough to pay for it , and if he does he will shut down the Profitability even more than what is going on now with a book cooked GDP at 1.5 % think about that How can the GDP be at 1.5 % and the Dow back up to 2007 growth rates when GDP was 4.92 % ?? http://www.geohive.com/charts/ec_gdp1.aspx , Obama is cooking the books with the Federal Reserve QE Spending

So what good is what you got from Obama if you don’t get to keep it ???

      • tony

Under the Obama for America economic policy we have seen a Zero Interest rate Shariah Federal Reserve replace the Free Market driven by Interest baring Private sector Bond markets that feed fixed Investors that are willing to invest in the supply-side expansion of a Growing supply all thats needed to sustain solvent financial system , but instead we have Obamas Plans which will not sustain what he has given you because he cannot tax the rich hard enough to pay for it , plus keep a foreign acceptance in the trading of goods for the US Dollar , and if he does he will shut down the Profitability even more than what is going on now with a book cooked GDP at 1.5 % . Think about that How can the GDP be at 1.5 % and the Dow back up to 2007 growth rates when GDP was 4.92 % ?? http://www.geohive.com/charts/ec_gdp1.aspx , Obama is cooking the books with the Federal Reserve QE Spending

So what good is what you got from Obama if you don’t get to keep it ???

      • daves

Tony – what does that have to do with Septembers unemployment rate?

      • tony

the economic growth indicators follow unemployment increases and declines based off Private Investment funding the rise in equities versus the Government debt subsidizing the equities growth that cannot sustain solvent employment

      • daves

Could you please be a little more simple for me?

Are you saying that GDP would be higher if the unemployment rate actually was 7.8%?

      • Nadzieja Batki

Don’t play coy and cute, daves.

    • Mamamia

Right on Jeremy. I was thinking the same. Why “cook” for .3%? Ridiculous. If you are going to rob a bank, are you going in for 300.00 or 30,000?

      • Patriot1776

For the master deceiver, it is easier to slide a little through and have it accepted. He owns the bank, he just has to keep it secret until after the election. A little improvement makes the sheep happy. Too much exageration and even some liberals would question it.

    • sancheleezy

Let us all be honest with each other. Barack Hussein Obama was not vetted at all, he is a phony, he is a progressive-socialist any way you look at it, as he believes that the government should be involved in nearly every aspect of our lives. These numbers are crooked as much as possible in order to convince people to reelect him, as it affects their jobs in government directly, and for you to believe that any administration, especially this one, are not capable of manipulating figures in order to make themselves appear better, you are nothing but a fool. This administration is nothing but a much worse and nefarious version of the previous Bush Administration. Both my sons have college degrees and are struggling to find decent employment, and they cannot stomach the idea of accepting government handouts. Wake up and realize the truth of just where we are at, foundering in the midst of incompetent fools running the ship of state.

Thank again, he wants to cut the military in half, leaving us un-able to secure our nation, he has already cut from VA programs, he has tried and will try again to raise tri-care fees, mine would have been 600%, double our out of pocket medical costs, and double our out of pocket drug cost, he is the only president I know of who refused to give the military a pay raise two year running and is talking about not giving us one this year and next year.; He wants to taker our guns, he said this himself, heard him say it, our 2nt amendment rights is for voters to decide not the president. He has signed more E.O.’s then all our past presidents combined, this is leadership by dictatorship.

      • Karolyn

Under Obama the VA budget has increased by 26%.
“Increased Support for Veterans: With so many soldiers coming home from Iraq and Iran with serious physical and mental health problems, yet facing long waits for services, increased 2010 Department of Veterans Affairs budget by 16 percent and 2011 budget by 10 percent. Also signed new GI bill offering $78 billion in tuition assistance over a decade, and provided multiple tax credits to encourage businesses to hire veterans.”

The military budget needs to be cut in half and all wars ended. Enough of their reckless expenditures and this demanding false security for the USA. I blame Congress for that exploitation of our service members and resources.

    • http://gravatar.com/famousfatman gary

Personally, I have stopped listening to all the bogus numbers and blaming because Obama administration sued a pollster but the suite has been dropped after the numbers changed. The leaks out of the White House, lies that have been told by this administration where our Ambassador died from inadequate security in Libya, Fast and Furious and 4 years of blaming. If Obama had to apply for a job using his record and experience he wouldn’t qualify for a dog groomer. A leader doesn’t throw his people to the wolves, this is a lack of character and leadership. 23M Americans out of work and he writes an executive order to give 4M illegals amnesty and another 1M next year. 16T dollar debt and no budget. 2012 Romney/Ryan

      To: Jeremy Leochner

The truth is obama is down and dirty and he is capable of anything including having the books cooks, it is fools like you that give him the benefit of the doubt. Obama is a communist and if re-elected he will not create jobs, but what he will do is continued to inforce more failed polices that hurts the economy and the American people. A vote for this dictator is a vote for the death of this country. The only thing obama has done is suppress the US citizens, 23 millions people out of work, 47 million people on foodstamps and he added 5 trillion to the debt. Obama is the worst president this country ever had, worst then Bush and Carter and these were pretty bad themselves.

Wow -he is not evil? Please explain why he will not show his real birth certificate ? His passport? Why does he have more than 1 social security number? Why is he muslim? Why doesn’t he love America OUR United States of America? Why will he not show his college entrance applicants nor his transcripts? Why is he gay? Why does he smoke (cigarettes & pot)? Why does he drink to the foolishness stage? Why has he gotten our country into dire economical situations? Why are the unemployment figures reported incorrectly (the last report – oops they forgot about including California totally?) Why does he accept poltical contributions illegally from international donors who use credit card numbers (w/o security code) and in excess of maximum amounts? Oh – I could go on & on- but mainly….he lies…mainly he is a fraud! ROMNEY/RYAN 2012…..

Explain what? Why you choose to repeat lies rather than facts? That is YOUR problem.

        http://tesibria.typepad.com/whats_your_evidence/BIRTHER%2520CASE%2520LIST.pdf

It is in a quite detailed, and very easy to follow, format. If you choose to not look at it, at least be honest enough to say so.

At this point in time 7 States have issued the finding that Obama is a Natural Born Citizen.
        New York
        New Jersey
        Indiana
        Maryland
        Georgia
        Illinois
        Vermont

ALL of those courts had certified copies of Obama’s BC. The officials of the courts know how to tell if a BC is valid or not. Apparently, you do not.

      • JeffH

“ALL of those courts had certified copies of Obama’s BC.”

That’s an out n out fabrication. Up to this point in time, there never has been a certified copy of Obama’s birth certificate presented to any state or federal court official.

      • Frank Kahn

You appear to be driven by blind racial hatred. It is not a matter of the man being Black or Mulatto for that matter, it is the fact that he sucks as a president. Even a white man would be looked down on for the kinds of crap that Obama pulls. Get off the he is black kick, it has nothing to do with this. Your hatred of whites is clouding your judgement.
