Or maybe, in religious context, God himself has brought the Islamic nations upon Israel. As you pointed out, Israel was scattered over 2000 years ago for not keeping God’s covenant and his law. Today, as you also pointed out, they still do not accept the New Testament as God’s Word/Law. Their “homeland” was given back to them not by God for their faith, but by man (Great Britain and the United States). And if you know anything about the West Bank and Gaza Strip, they certainly aren’t sharing it. They treat the Palestinians as infidels, like dogs, not even allowing them to their Holy sites, and cutting off supplies, as they encroach more and more land… much of the land they take was never even part of the biblical state of Israel, nor the Kingdom of Judah. It would seem that Palestine is targeted by Israel for genocide, and Israel has a common hate for Islamic nations.

Anyone who accepts the New Testament and claims Jesus Christ as their savior, is a ‘Christian’, regardless of their views on certain political subjects. You can be against abortion and gay marriage, while also realizing it is not right to impose those moral beliefs on others through legislation or force. That’s the importance in separation of church and state… that’s the primary difference in a Constitutional Republic and a theocracy such as those in the Muslim word that so many fear.
