Propagandizing The Masses

Propaganda is the use of words and messages to mold the public mind to accept falsehoods as truths and divert the attention of the masses away from important subjects and toward those with little or no significance. The basis of mind control, propaganda leads to the acceptance of subtle or overt force and collectivism and directs the public to act against its self-interest.

The whole political realm is propaganda. The “truth” is what the handlers and spinmeisters and message crafters and their presstitute media mouthpieces say it is. The recent dustup involving the secret Mitt Romney video is case in point.

The media and President Barack Obama’s campaign message handlers made hay with Romney’s words about “not working for” 47 percent of the electorate. Never mind that Romney was speaking a truth. Almost half of Americans are on some kind of government program. Half of Americans don’t pay income taxes. Romney’s message — whether true or not — of smaller, limited government will not resonate with most of them. If he expends resources on attempts to woo them, he is wasting his time and money.

As usual, rather than focusing on the important takeaway of the story, the mainstream media blew the ancillary issues out of proportion in another feat of linguistic legerdemain. Lost in the hue and cry and Obama’s appearance on “The David Letterman Show,” as well as the subsequent faux outrage of the right’s media mouthpieces when it was revealed that a couple of minutes of tape was missing, was the information Romney revealed about the spinmeisters and message crafters behind the campaign.

They are professional propagandists. They travel the world working for campaigns. Their core value, if they have any, is only to get the candidate elected who bid the highest for their services. As Romney said in a rare moment of political candor that you only get if you’re part of the 1 percent:

I have a very good team of extraordinarily experienced, highly successful consultants, a couple of people in particular who have done races around the world. I didn’t realize it. These guys in the U.S.—the Karl Rove equivalents—they do races all over the world: in Armenia, in Africa, in Israel. I mean, they work for Bibi Netanyahu in his race. So they do these races and they see which ads work, and which processes work best, and we have ideas about what we do over the course of the campaign. I’d tell them to you, but I’d have to shoot you.

How do they determine which processes work best? Romney told the audience:

We speak with voters across the country about their perceptions. Those people I told you—the 5 to 6 or 7 percent that we have to bring onto our side—they all voted for Barack Obama four years ago. So, and by the way, when you say to them, “Do you think Barack Obama is a failure?” they overwhelmingly say no. They like him. But when you say, “Are you disappointed that his policies haven’t worked?” they say yes. And because they voted for him, they don’t want to be told that they were wrong, that he’s a bad guy, that he did bad things, that he’s corrupt. Those people that we have to get, they want to believe they did the right thing, but he just wasn’t up to the task. They love the phrase that he’s “over his head.”

Hence, Romney’s message is that Obama is “over his head.” Giving the 5 percent to 7 percent of the Nation’s undecided and disengaged simpletons the truth — that Obama is a collectivist who believes in redistribution and is intentionally trying to crash the Nation’s economy in order to “fundamentally transform” the country — is unacceptable because they don’t want to hear it. They probably wouldn’t understand it anyway.

It is impossible to know what the candidates will do based on their campaign speeches and slogans and advertisements (see George W. Bush 2000 and Obama 2008). The words they use and messages they convey are selected based on focus groups made up of those who claim to be independents or moderates who are malleable, indecisive and disconnected from important issues. Every political utterance is closely scripted and, as even the media now admits, censored by the campaigns, thanks to a complicit presstitute media.

Both Democrats and Republicans use propaganda for their benefit. Their aim is to draft a message based not on what they believe or what is Constitutional or what is good for the country, but to make the targeted audience take the desired action. One dare not speak the truth.

But the propaganda that gets the parties’ rank and file agitated continues unabated. The spinmeisters and propaganda mouthpieces seize on “hot button” issues in order to create division among the populace and to keep the public’s focus away from the Federal Reserve’s money printing and assault on the wealth of Americans, American imperialism and the resulting slaughter of innocents abroad, the exploding Federal regulatory bureaucracy, and the crony capitalism that benefits large multinational corporations that, in turn, benefits the political elites.

The propaganda hides the similarities in the candidates and the parties’ elite: that both are slaves to the military-industrial complex and will continue to wage perpetual war around the globe at the behest of their globalist masters, both are owned by the banksters and will do their bidding, both believe in the imperial Presidency and the ability to govern by fiat executive order, both believe it’s the proper role of the President to incarcerate Americans without due process and hold them indefinitely without trial, both approve of the fear-based burgeoning homeland-security apparatus that violates Americans’ rights with unlawful searches and seizures and is stockpiling weaponry and ammunition as if building up for war, and both are approved by the world’s elites — Obama in 2007 and Romney in 2012 (which may indicate that elites have kicked Obama to the curb).

The propaganda works well.

Party rank and file (that is, the workers in the trenches and party-specific voters) buy the lie that their candidates are going to abide by the party platform — which the elites ignore — and keep the promises their messagers told them to make to whatever audience they happen to be standing before at the time.

When it comes time to govern, those promises are shoved down the memory hole, and the political elites do the will of their corporate and globalist masters. Government grows, liberty is lost and tyranny prevails — regardless of which political party holds power.

Obama has had nearly four years to show me what he’s about. I don’t like anything I’ve seen yet, so it’s no sale.Obama can can dump his commie slogan “forward”.
I’ll give Romney a go at it and hope that he can do better at bringing this country out of the mess it’s in now. A mess that would seem worse than what Obama “inherited”. Oh, and remember that the last two years of the Bush years were dominated by a Dem controlled congress that helped to hasten our slide into financial ruin, which never gets a lot of mention anywhere. As Pelosi said of Obamacare “you have to pass it before you can know what’s in it.” Maybe four years of a Romney administration will show me what he’s all about. Hopefully for the better. All the propaganda aside, and it’s everywhere,it’s the results of one’s action and how it impacts me,my family and my country. So,to me,talk is cheap. Show me something.

    • Norm

      Bill L
Bill get off the kool-aid. With Romney things can and would get much worse.
      Fortunately he’ll never get elected.

  • Louis Lemieux

“Propaganda is the use of words and messages to mold the public mind to accept falsehoods as truths and divert the attention of the masses away from important subjects and toward those with little or no significance.“

Well, Mr. Livingston, if this is what you think propaganda is, your propaganda isn’t working on me! Propaganda is the systematic dissemination of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating a doctrine or cause.

    • DaveH

We don’t expect you to be able to comprehend the truths that Bob reveals, Louis. Fortunately there are others out there who don’t put their fingers in their ears and chant nah,nah,nah,nah,nah…..

      • Flashy

What? no Mises cite to support your ranting Dave?

      • DaveH

What, no references of any kind to support your nonsense, Flashman (aka Jeremy)?
It’s difficult to find authors who would so blatantly lie, so as to back up your nonsense, isn’t it Flashman?

  • dan

An excellent piece , Bob…but let us not forget the greatest tax: INFLATION , the destroyer of savings and sustenance.
Sometimes it’s good to be a sheep and graze beside the still waters under the watchful eye of the Good Shepherd .

    • Flashy

“but let us not forget the greatest tax: INFLATION , the destroyer of savings and sustenance.” <—dan

Dan…a consumer based capitalist system requires inflation for it to operate. Every credible economist, and every credible book written of economies written, all recognize that.

The Fed and most economists favor an inflation rate between 2-3%. 5% will snap their heads up and anything above that begins talk of slowing down the economy to reset the monetary supply and credit markets.

The reasoning is simple and two fold. It acts as the mental incentive for consumer purchasing (how many times have you bought something today saying "it will cost more later so might as well save money buying it now") and it supplies the needed monetary expansion allowing for economic growth and productivity.

      • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

        Dear Flashy,

You write: “Dan…a consumer based capitalist system requires inflation for it to operate. Every credible economist, and every credible book written of economies written, all recognize that. The Fed and most economists favor an inflation rate between 2-3%.” It is this type of economic illiteracy that that has us in the shape we’re in.

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing Jay

Wow Flashy, i’m absolutely stunned! Would you care to rephrase your statement? I think everyone here would understand if you did, and probably most are anticipating a re-write from you. No?

      • Flashy

Dear Mr. Livingston…Every credible economist and theorist recognizes that in a consumer based capitalist system, inflation is required for such system to exist. If you state such is economic illiteracy, I would hope you could cite a credible economist who would support such statement.

        Deflation bad
        Stagnation not good
        mild inflation (2-3%) Good
        High inflation not good
        hyperflation bad

if you would point to a period which any of the four listed above existed for any significant period during economic prosperity, i would be interested in such information.

        Thank you

        Dear Flashy,

Gladly. Read Man, Economy, and State with Power and Market, by Murray Rothbard. Available for free here: http://mises.org/document/1082/Man-Economy-and-State-with-Power-and-Market

Here is an article that explains it if you are too lazy to read the book: http://mises.org/daily/4602

Only humanity can experience heaven or hell because only humanity has the ability to reason. As Americans we experience: ” To whom much is given, much is required”. As required that means everything, mainly our diligence to see to it those we employ to run our country under the guidelines our forefathers layed out, with liberty and morality as first and foremost. We are not doing that. Propaganda only works if the people let it. You might say Satan used propaganda on Eve. He is ever present and the only power he has is persuasion. When see or hear things, regardless of who they come from, that don’t quite look right to us we tend to justify instead of question. Sure they’re waving dainties like alcohol to an addict but we shouldn’t justify anything or anyone that does not live up to the standards we know are right. We recieved 10 Commandments from God, commandments on which we can put our every thought and action on. If things don’t pass the Ten Commandments, you can count on their being wrong.

With the dumbing down of America through a unionized public school system that gets worse year after year, the percentage of the electorate easily propagandized continues to grow. There is a critical shortage of critical thinking in this country!

As usual, Flashman, bereft of anything logical or factual to state, must personally attack.

Mr. Livingston has offered a most concise treatment of the propaganda issue. Apparently however, it has fallen on many deaf ears (eyes in this case) as exposed by the many continued inane left-right antagonists postings here, whose authors’ mindsets remains unaltered. So too sad that our nation’s future will keep the course set by this false paradigm. Under shadowed in the article however is the depth of the media’s complicity and its own corruption. Petty gossip is often given front page while important issues are obscured or completely overlooked. Distract, confuse, and sell what sells to make the most of profit. And, as Mr. Livingston so clearly points out, tow the line.

    • eddie47d

Traditional right wing/Conservative news articles or traditional left wing articles are always biased and have a limited readership. Are they truthful and honest? Some are anything but that. Most blog sites are full of disinformation and only appease those who wanted to hear that version of the news anyways. Is that truthful? Only hearing what you want to hear.

      • Michael J.

        Listen and appease thyself.

      • eddie47d

Seems like you have bought into what this site has to offer and few of you really challange them. You accept them as fact and slander those who don’t.

“Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes
suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle. The real extent of this
state of misinformation is known only to those who are in situations to
confront facts within their knowledge with the lies of the day. I really look
with commiseration over the great body of my fellow citizens, who, reading
newspapers, live & die in the belief, that they have known something of what
has been passing in the world in their time; whereas the accounts they have
read in newspapers are just as true a history of any other period of the world
as of the present, except that the real names of the day are affixed to their
    fables.”

      • JC

We’ll have to see what they manufacture for the history books this time. ;-)

      • vazirmukhtar

Marx, IMO, gets it right sometimes. History repeats itself: first as tragedy, then as farce.

Then too, we know that the victor gets to write the history. Recall what goes on in Orwell’s “1984.”

  • wily

WAG the dog! The global Lucy’s are having a belly laugh for not seeing the Whole picture! As a nation (we’ve been sold out for decades) our plate is full, as the world, ww3 is about to happen and the globals are dug in so they can wait out the storm, this time it won’t work for them!
It’s been 4 years now, we have some illegal alien in the Oval. In no way could the global SS freaks pull this off if America did not lose Her bearings (Her fixed point) and now She’s clueless of the ways of God, who She once knew! The armless hand, is writing on the wall, I chose Him, one person and God is a super majority and the globals are about to learn this, for their god is absolutely powerless compared to my (& all of mankind who accept His Gift) God (Lord Jesus Christ) who Created all, man is not like lemmings or any other in the animal world – we have a free will, just as all the mighty Cherubs and angels, Satan (Lucifer) was a mighty gifted cherub, satan was able to convience 1/3 of the angels to follow him. Again, man has a free will, the choice is left up to the individual, the age of this cosmic chess match is rapidly closing, eschatology is the play.

    • eddie47d

I doubt if God would look at Obama as an illegal alien for everyone is a child of HIS world. If we have free will then why has the world accepted NWO control since its inception. (5,000 years) Every kingdom, region or country has had powerful people dominating their lives. Even in America where we are free there has always been someone controlling our lives. ( even our Founding Fathers) No one can exist in a constant state of individual rebellion and do trust that fact. Most people if given the opportunity would dominate another in some way or another. There are small farming communities with only a few people yet someone is in charge of what gets allowed and what doesn’t. Individual thought or “rebellion” is not allowed and punishment can be severe. I’m just not sure were Wily’s perfect world is or how he can claim such a place exists. Humans are a work in progress and it never seems to be to our liking.

      • http://wildeyguns.com The Christian American

Free will has it’s limits. Free simply means “status”, like serfdom. To be truly free it’s limit is morality. Beyond that, bondage starts to creep in. As we cross the line between morality and immorality we’re experiencing bondage. Isn’t that what the elections all about? Neither one of them is offering true freedom. All we have to pick from is the one who we think offers the least amount of bondage. Laws create bondage in place of morality.

      • eddie47d

Try living in a lawless country and see who is in bondage. The Taliban is certainly an example in how that turns out.

I follow all the sources of information I can find. By either print, broadcast or on-line media, this is the FIRST time I’ve encountered the TRUTH ! To paraphrase another, our citizens wouldn’t know the truth if it literally ate the noses off their faces. The only remedy I can think of parallels the Truman doctrine of 1950 (yes, 52 years ago!) That is to tell the truth – the unvarnished truth. Given the grip on us held by both of our political parties as they act on behalf of their elitist managers (understanding that a great number of our pols are actual members of those clubs) is through a citizen coalition as a third party. But, again, how many might join if they are ignorantly committed to the propaganda fed them – otherwise normalcy biased (in denial) – or simply apathetic. Who will lead at the possible risk of person and/or family? Who will provide the funding? It would be a virtual start-from-scratch endeavor. Consider the common enemy. To the colonists it was the Kings’ “government”. To us it would be the “new world order” espoused by GHW Bush in his final state-of-the-union address.

  • http://Gmail Tony Dempster

Anyone that thinks their vote determines the outcome of the election are dillusional. The election was pre-determined long ago when the media made THEIR choice. Propaganda by the professional campaign operators is designed to keep the truth swept under the rug. You all can argue points all you want, but you’re simply wasting your time and breath. The election is allready decided… you just don’t know who won.

    • http://wildeyguns.com The Christian American

In the book of James in the bible, we learn that those who seek wisdom will recieve it abundantly. All we have to do is ask. Most of us look around for answers instead of up. When Cicero was the proconsul of Rome, he and his thinker friends searched the past for as much to do as what not to do. Plutarch wrote the book: Plutarchs Nine Lives. In it he spells out how nine leaders chose to run their countries. Cicero and his friends were searching for the best form of government of Rome, keeping the welfare of the people in mind. America has become one of those big waves disappearing as it hits the sands of time. Does it have to ? No. We can repent to God and take lessons from Him or—-

  • Joy Thompson

The democrats are silly if they think we don’t know what is going on here. They know that 47% of the voting public are not going to vote for Romney, no matter what. They know that Romney will need to direct his resources to the remaining 53%. I haven’t been contacted by the democrats. They know that they would be wasting their resources on me when they already know that I am a Christian…I am pro-life…I believe in low taxes…I believe in border control…I believe in a strong national defense…I believe that if you are on welfare and you are able-bodied that you should have to go to work…etc. They know that I will never vote for Obama so they direct their efforts elsewhere. I am not upset about that. It’s politics, as usual…practiced by both sides.

    • Chester

Linda, by your logic, I should have heard something from your friends in the Republican party, but nary a word, other than a few cards from some of the local candidates. However, I am inundated with requests from the Democrats.

    • Nadzieja Batki

Romney is correct that the statistical 47% will not vote for him so he knows that he needs to strenghten even more the ones that will vote for him. You don’t weaken the strong to strenghten the weak.

      • LC

Although it is true, Romney should have tried to include or sway as many of that percantage as possible instead of isolating them. It would have been much more advantageous for Romney to have politicized getting them, (who can) back to work, and giving a few examples of how we could achieve that goal.
The continued attacking of Obama and those who are unemployed will not only decrease his chances of winning any of the 47% but could also have a negative affect on those who do agree but see the situations created from other means.
Insulting and placing blame is not a good recipe for winning over the American people. Great leaders offer solutions instead of attacking and blaming. That is what we really need, not four more years of crying and whining about how America got this way, but HOW HE CAN CHANGE IT ! Once either candidate starts presenting some sound ideas or solutions, without blame, thats when we will see a huge change in the polls. And not before.

      • Norm

Actually many of his 47% are retirees, service men and women, college students, the unemployed, and disabled. Many from these groups are or at least were very neo-cons. Once again Romney shoots himself in the foot.

  • DaveH

Bob says — “When it comes time to govern, those promises are shoved down the memory hole, and the political elites do the will of their corporate and globalist masters”.
Yep. If Romney gets elected the Republican sheeple will make excuses for his broken campaign promises just as the Democrat sheeple now make excuses for Obama’s broken campaign promises.

When YOU turn against Israel YOU turn against the GOD of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob (Israel). GOD informs us that prior to the end all Nations will turn against his chosen People, the apple of his eye, and he will curse them for it and bring them down to the pit of Hell.

      • Norm

        Robert
Put down your Bible and actually try thinking. You may be surprised.

      • eddie47d

That depends in how you interpret the Bible. Israel itself is Jewish and doesn’t always follow or recognize the Bible. They follow the Torah and aren’t always in sync with what our Bible says. God allowed Israel to be destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD and Jews were slaughtered in the thousands or forced to flee. The USA must be obligated to the truth in going to the defense of Israel not fear of the Arab world. God did not favor the Jews and will allow them to die as easily as any Christian or Muslim. A true God would dispise the hatred on all sides and will not go to the ad of any charlatan no matter which religion it represents.

      • Nadzieja Batki

Norm, Robert is thinking but you are not.

And who wrote that? His “chosen people”, of course. How self-serving.

Robert, Ishmael is half jewish. Same father, Abraham, remember? So if you curse Ishmael, are you not in essence cursing Abraham?

      • cawmun cents

Ishmael could not have been Jewish,he was not circumcised.
Therefore your statement is not factual.
Abraham was not circumsized, until after Issac’s birth.
Ishmael is therefore not Jewish,or half Jewish either.
He is fully a part of Abrahams family, yet not Jewish.
Read Genesis for further instruction on the matter.
You cannot in old testament scripture,be considered Jewish, unless you have undergone circumsision. Not my rules…but God’s rules.
        -CC.

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing Jay

You believe that God’s covenant with Abraham excludes his son Ishmael?

Ishmael is the ancestor of the Arabs, and the Prophet Muhammad. Christians are under the assumption that the covenant was made only with his son Isaac and his descendants, the Jews. They often argue that Ishmael was an illegitimate son, thus excluding him from the covenant. The biblical available evidence refutes this assertion:

Was Ishmael an illegitimate son to Abraham? Well, in order for a child to be illegitimate, his parents must not have been husband and wife at the time he was conceived. So, were Abraham and Hagar married at the time they conceived Ishmael? Let us see what the Bible says:

Genesis 16:3 “And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. ”

So, according to the Bible, Sarah gave Hagar to Abraham as a wife. The next verse proves that they were married before they conceived Ishmael:

Genesis 16:4 “And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. ”

So according to the Bible, Ishmael is a legitimate son of Abraham. Now with this in mind, i continue. In the next chapter of Genesis, we find promise from God to Abraham:

Genesis 17:7 “And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

The above verse tells us that God’s covenant is with the seed of Abraham. Is Ishmael the seed of Abraham? Let’s go back to the book of Genesis to find out:

Genesis 21:13 “And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed. ”

God’s covenant is to be given through circumcision, as we come to understand in Genesis 17:10-13:

Genesis 17:10 “This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. ”

Immediately after, Abraham quickly circumcises himself and his son Ishmael. This establishes God’s covenant with Ishmael, father to the Arabs. The Interpreter’s Bible (p. 16) states the following:

“This was His own sign and seal that Israel was a chosen people. Through it a man’s life was linked with great fellowship whose dignity was its high consciousness that it must fulfill the purpose of God.”

Circumcision is practiced by Muslims throughout the world to this day.

We know from above that Ishmael was Abraham’s seed. Some may claim that being his “seed” is not equal to being his “son”. Well, ok, let us see what the Bible says:

Genesis 17:23 “And Abraham took Ishmael his son”

Genesis 25:8 “Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people. And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;”

The Above verse shows that Ishmael was his son till the day Abraham died. Also, the status of Hagar has no affect on the inheritance of Ishmael according to the law.

Deuteronomy 21:15 “If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated: Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn: But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

Before Isaac was born, God repeats his promise to Abraham to bless the entire earth through his progeny.

Genesis 17:4 “As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.”

Genesis 21:13 “And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.”

It is important to note that verses such as those in Genesis 17:21 and Genesis 21:21 do not exclude Ishmael, they just merely concentrate on Isaac since he’d already done the same to Ishmael before the birth of Isaac . If one says “I love my children”, then says “I love my younger son,” that does not mean that he doesn’t love is elder son.

To summarize, the Bible tells us that Ishmael was indeed a legitimate child to Abraham and Hagar. Also, we find out that the covenant was between God, and Abraham and his seed. Genesis 23:13 clearly shows that Ishmael is considered Abrahams seed.

Finally, the book of Genesis tells us that the covenant is given through circumcision, and Abraham quickly circumcised himself and his son Ishmael, thus establishing the covenant with Ishmael.

It really comes down to who has their mental matter scrubbed, and by whom.
Those who question the authroritarian figureheads in their politics, and those who blindly follow because it seems to be the thing to do to stay on party lines.
To realize that the man in charge right now is merely a marionette, dancing to his handlers whims,is fairly obvious. But to defend the tendencies of those who work this way,is propagandizement to its highest degree. And those who do so with the idea that they are intelligent, are laughingly tragic. We have many clear examples of what is working to that effect, here at PLD.Those who post and incessantly avoid any modicum of plausible deniability to defend that which is indefensibe, are seen here on a daily basis shouting from their rearended soapboxes to attempt to ensure that someone else gets caught in the same snare they are deep in.
It reminds me of a bad joke.
But it is educational for me to come here and see the arguments which they defecate, because I get these same arguments wherever I go.And though I grow weary of these same tired old tactics to the the point of boredom,it is nice to be able to publicly refute them in front of fence sitters, who might be swayed to attempt to visualize reality at some point.
When your reality is that which borders absurdum, yet you choose to try to encite others to follow along, you get to hang with folks as dull as you are,
Not a very great source of a learning curve, which is why you dont get that those of us who will not see what you see(mainly because it isnt there)have the unique function known as deduction to rely upon.

Here’s a factual message that won’t be stated by either side of the Republikrat party:

9/11 official story doubts becoming more mainstream

One key distinction between the 9/11 truth movement and conspiracy theorists, however, is that the 9/11 truth movement and many of the victim’s families have simply been calling for a new investigation, not making allegations as to whom are really behind the attacks. Some, however, do go further than that.

Dr. Kevin Barrett, a Ph.D. expert on Arabic and Islam cultures, is one of America’s best-known critics of the war on terror. Barrett, writing for Press TV, quotes Alan Sabrosky, former Director of Strategic Studies at the U.S. Army War College:

I have had long conversations over the past two weeks with contacts at the Army War College, at the Headquarters Marine Corps, and I have made it absolutely clear in both cases that it is 100 percent certain that 9/11 was a Mossad operation. Period.

Dr. Barrett has appeared many times on Fox, CNN, PBS and other broadcast outlets. He has inspired feature stories and op-eds in the New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, theChicago Tribune, and other leading publications. In addition to teaching at colleges and universities in San Francisco and Paris, Dr. Barrett also taught at U.W. – Madison and ran for Congress in 2008.

Anyone who knows anything about the Muslim Arabs should know that the attack on the United States by those 19 Muslims mostly from Saudi Arabia were not in any way connected to Israel. The Arabs have been in a state of war with Israel for years and each hate the others guts. So do not accept any connection to the 9/11 attack to Israel. Nothing but lies, lies, lies and will continue to be nothing but lies.

    • LC

Fact of the matter is; No matter which extremist group carried out the attack, they couldn’t have pulled it off without help. There is plenty of info coming out and those who do not believe it are the same ones who will think that reeducation camps are for their own good. Please don’t wait this long to realize because at that point it will be too late. It is a hard pill to swallow but considering all that has been done by both parties, especially in the past 50 years, to weaken the American economy and continually jeopardize our civil liberties, one can only concede that the unbelievable is indeed true.

I guess everyone has forgotten all the flip-flopping Romney has done over the last few years. Forget all the media hype & look at his past record! He said in a few debates that he would vote for the NDAA. The National Defense Authoriziation Act. That enables the government to arrest & imprison a U.S. Citizen without a trial for an undisclosed length of time. He also was for the Patriot Act, & he personally stated in another meeting that he believes it is fine to wire-tap mosques or churches in order to keep us “safe.” I’d rather carry my own gun, & keep myself safe, thank you very much. Since he is for the illegal wars we’ve been fighting, forever, I can only believe that he has no problem sending our young, brave soldiers into places we are not welcome. Where over 14,000 of our troops that have survived Iraq & Afganistan & have come home only to live out the rest of their lives as an amputee or with some other serious disability. Tens of thousands of veterans are homeless. Obama’s goal is to send as many American soldiers overseas as possible, so they will be equally resigned by the time they come back, if at all. Obama will make full use of U.N. Forces here in the U.S. Our troops will not follow orders to shoot at U.S. Citizens, but the U.N. soldiers will gladly follow orders. While people are devistated over our crumbling nation & dishearted by Ron Paul cheated out of the nomination & convention, there is a much more evil shadow lurking over us. It’s the U.N. Gun Ban Treaty. Either one of these current candidates are “for” progression. We cannot progress until they get our guns….Ron Paul, anyone….?

    • Paul Wells

I voted for Ron Paul…in the primaries. But you see how that turned out. A vote for Ron Paul at this point, sadly, will be an implicit vote for Barack Hussein Obama, and I can’t stand the thought, personally.

      • DaveH

Not true. Ron Paul draws as many votes from disaffected voters in the Democrat party as he does from those disaffected voters in the Republican party.
In two out of three states where polling was done, the potential votes that would be cast for Gary Johnson (the next best thing to Ron Paul) took more from Obama than from Romney.
So there is no good reason to continue to swallow the Lesser of Two Evils scam, and very good reasons to vote for Gary Johnson — Principles:

let me see….if I remember correctly just a few short months ago, when Obama had the chance to send our troops to war, in Libya, he didnt, he had us provide some ground support and keep their citizens safe and the Libyan people got rid of their dictator on their own at a cost of a few billion dollars…..rather than hundreds of billions of dollars bush cost us only to have Obama finally get bin laden….what do you people eat, geez….where do you get all of this conspiracy stuff that Obama is making concentration camps and stuff…..

      • DaveH

It had nothing to do with their citizens safety.
In 2011 Libya announced that they were going to price their oil in gold-backed dinars, and Gadhafi was trying to persuade other African and Muslim nations to join him in that effort. That put a big target on his back by the International Bankers. Read this to discover the truth:

      • Flashy

Every time i see any reference to a gold standard, it is difficult not to laugh out loud. All it would accomplish is a massive depreciation of the currency and an almost complete cessation of trade…not to mention unchecked inflation in the beginning and a rigid, inflexible monetary standard unable to adjust for the realities of a 21st century marketplace.

I know..DaveH is about to paste a Mises article…but think about it. How much gold is produced each year in the world? About 50 million if the mining numbers are accurate. multiply that by a price of …$1500/oz ? The comes to $750 Billion. For the entire world economy to trade on.

      • DaveH

Every time I see one of your nonsensical comments, Flashman (aka Jeremy), it is difficult not to laugh out loud.
Please explain to us, Flashman, how gold money would accomplish a “massive depreciation” and “unchecked inflation”? Are you really that ignorant or are you just insulting the intelligence of the readers?
Also explain why an “inflexible monetary standard” would be unable to adjust for the “realities of a 21st century marketplace”?
The total money supply at the beginning of the revolution was about $12 million.
The total money supply in 1818 was about $100 million.
The total money supply in 1897 was about $6 billion.
Oh, the horrors. How did they get along on so few dollars? Duh, the prices were lower.
With Gold money, the Bankers and Government can’t tax people the hidden way — by inflating the currency and causing a devaluation of our dollar purchasing Power. That’s why Government and their shills (like Flashman) don’t want to be constrained by Gold money.
Unlike fiat money with no inherent value, Gold money could not be easily devalued at Government whim, and it would have its own intrinsic value. The most desirable form of money would be to designate a NewDollar (or some other name) as being X grams of gold. This would be necessary only for accounting purposes. Otherwise, our money for ordinary market transactions would be Gold or Silver or other precious metal coins. Silver (or other precious metal) coins would float in NewDollar value (in relation to gold) on the Free Markets. Rather than a NewDollar designation on the coins, they would be designated in terms of purity and maybe a nominal weight which would only be valid for obviously unworn coins. Those that were obviously abraded would simply be weighed by those who might accept our Precious Metal coins in trade.

Being a 79 year old ultra-Conservative ,i see whereby the core of both “parties” representing our Republic are being swayed by “The One World Government Elitist” .
I do not see it possible that “Elitists from all other countries across the world could possibly be compatible with those of this country.. Rich people live different lives from us peasants and there is no uniform set of rules by which they could possibly maintain self discipline or control of their institution.
YET< they setting the stage up for this mystical Body of Elitists" to control their new form of government across the world; see Bilderber Group ???
In order for this Mystical- Elitist Body" to gain it's solidarity and control of the world , would require having at their disposal a huge multi-million populant force not necessarily fighting for their cause but an almost unbeatable force that may already be in motion to take over the world for another cause and not that of the "Elityist" .
The "Elitist" would simply attach themselves as a leach would and ride the multi-million
populant force around to "3 rd. base."! At that time all funding and support for survival of the huge force would be terminated and the "Elitist" would release their forces to finally conquer the world; I N T E R P O L .
I would dare say that the Islamist,Jihadist, Muslim , etc.,terrorist would make a perfect "mystical force" large enough in number by the tens of millions to successfully achieve that goal for the "Elitist" !

In 1964 the CIA developed a hands-off torture technique that they have since used to train all of the military empires in the world.

The technique is simple. Put on a charade, an act, present untrue articles, present untrue news broadcasts, and give the prisoner so much conflicting disinformation, presented as fact, that the prisoner does not know what to believe. Now this torture technique is being used daily on American Citizens.

This is by design. This is not a left right paradigm. This is not a republican-democrat, 2 party paradigm. This is a simple and true, tried and proven, torture technique being used on the American Public.

actually, the republicans are working overtime trying to cheat on this election by disenfranchising people eligible to vote and not allowing them to …..it is called voter ID laws…..a solution LOOKING for a problem……I saw a video of some right wing zealot who wanted to show how easy it was to do in person voter fraud, in rhode island I think…he went in with his hidden video camera, said he was someone else and when they played the video, the BROTHER of the supposed dead guy, calls his brother up and says hey.,….I didnt know you died, …needless to say, the bonehead was charged with voter fraud, which is funny under the circumstances…..just like their talking points of making the election pure and making sure each vote counts….yeah, they just want THEIR votes to count

      • Robert

In 2008 there was an article in the Washington Post (removed from the internet) that broke down Obama’s genology as follows: 50% white, 43.7% Arab; 6.3% African-American. The percentage to be deemed African-American is somewhat higher. Therefore we can surmise that he is really an Arab. When he said “my Muslim faith” in an interview may be connected to his Arab roots.

      • Chester

Robert, depends on whose rules you follow, as several states used to figure that if your grandmother’s grandmother was black, so were you. No matter that all the fathers were white, that one thirty-second part black was enough to bar you from white life, and condemn you to perpetual slavery.

      • eddie47d

What was really your point Robert? Obama’s father was as black as coal …so what! Millions of Arabs are Muslims and black…so what! Arab is not a pigment color for the human species so your % is based on what? There are also millions of black Christians in America and in Africa so what were you really trying to get at?

Johnny says — “actually, the republicans are working overtime trying to cheat on this election by disenfranchising people eligible to vote and not allowing them to …..it is called voter ID laws”.
As usual the Liberal Progressive has it backward. Requiring peoples’ IDs keeps Dead People, Criminals, and Non-Citizens from voting in our elections and “disenfranchising” the legitimate voters by cancelling their votes with illegitimate votes.

Why Believe Romney Now, After His Lies on Medicare, Bain & Taxes?

The candidate this week added Medicare to his litany of falsehoods—on Bain Capital, his taxes, welfare, and debt, among many others. It’s now clear Romney will say anything. So why trust anything he says?
The list could go on and on. One Republican operative, a genuine conservative who thinks Romney isn’t genuine at all, renders his verdict: “He doesn’t believe in anything but his own ambition.” Maybe that’s why Romney will say anything.

    • Paul Wells

Norm, norm, norm….I think it’s hilarious that you call out Romney for lying, when you won’t even consider your own prince of lies, Obama. I was born in Kenya, Hawaii, Indonesia, take your pick. I’m a Christian, yet I think the Muslim call to prayer (because of my Muslim roots) are the prettiest sounds on earth. I think it’s totally unfair that the rich pay nothing (untruth), I want to tax those with income above 250,000 (will raise at best 2.7 trillion, far, far FAR short of the 16T shortfall), Norm, I could go on and on. Paul paul paul, how quickly we forget that the deficit was ALREADY 10.5 TRIL when he took office, Also, add in the cost of two wars, the tax cuts and Medicare Part D, that BUSH didnt pay for that Obama INHERITED that is now added to the budget and THEN figure out what Obama’s total is….it is probably a lot closer to 2 or 3 trillion and I am sure about the same amount is due to BUSH policies, two wars, medicare part D and two tax cuts that are not paid for…of course, that right wing propaganda doesnt sound as good telling the truth and their right wing minions dont want to hear it either…..we always have to cast democrats as tax and spend and republicans as the adults who handle the foreign policy issues better, of course, with MITTENS, we cant really say that can we….since al qaeda is decimated and osama bin laden is dead….AND dont forget that Obama has agreed to spending cuts, if they give some revenue increases, but republicans have taken a pledge to grover which means more to them than their pledge of allegiance to our flag….so they cant do it or they may get kicked out….what a bunch of spineless men the republicans are who cant stand up to someone who isnt even a politician, just a guy with a clipboard (grover)

If by inheriting 10.5 TRILLION you mean he tacked on 6 TRILLION of his own then YES , he inherited that. If by inherited you mean that first he campaigned AGAINST the unConstitutional Patriot Act and THEN signed extensions on it and signed multiple BI-PARTISAN unConstitutional laws and Executive Orders specifically targetting civil rights, then YES he inherited those too. If by inherited you mean hes bailed out multiple corporations to the tune of BILLIONS of TAXPAYER dollars only for these companies to go bankrupt anyway but ONLY after making significant contributions to Obumma’s campaign , then YES, he inherited those. If by inherited you mean he intentionally gave high powered guns to the Sinoloa mexican drug cartel to demonize drug owners in THIS country for gun violence, then YES, he inherited that. at what point is ANYTHING, his fault???? If he were inconceivably able to steal ANOTHER election, and failed AGAIN, would it STILL be Bush Jr’s fault???????

Paul, can instantly tell you have never been outside this country, quite possibly never outside whatever state you live in. If you had ever actually HEARD what Obama is talking about when he speaks of the Muslim call to prayer, you would, perhaps, understand what he is talking about. I am a Christian and proud of it, but that call to prayer is a beautiful, awe-inspiring sound.

okay Butch, calm down or you are gonna bust a blood vessel, but he didnt have anything to do with Fast and Furious, that program was already in effect before he took office and even eric holder has been cleared of it, so you people need to get away from your conspiracy theories and pay attention to what is going on. And, when a new President comes into office, you dont just say HEY….I know we have been here in your country for 7 years now, but I am in charge now so we are packing up our stuff and heading home. THAT is why we were/are still in Afghanistan…..he already got us out of Iraq.

        2. Obama is a Christian but why should it matter, after all Romney is a Mormon.
        3. Romney paid federal taxes at a lower rate than many people making a mere 50K/year. That is dead wrong.
        4. 2.7 million isn’t chump change. From your own numbers that’s nearly 17% of the deficit.
        5. Romney’s plan for increasing military spending, cutting taxes on the 1%, and passing government programs to the states and cities has never worked and will never work.
        6. What is needed is consumer demand to move the economy. The Fed’s cutting interest rates to 0 is a disaster for people living on savings and hurts responsible people and retirees while rewarding overextended deadbeats

      • DaveH

Johnny says — “Paul paul paul, how quickly we forget that the deficit was ALREADY 10.5 TRIL when he took office”.
The Deficit? Johnny, how do you expect people to take you seriously when you don’t know the difference between the National Debt and the Deficit?
It took Bush 8 years to add about $5 Trillion to the National Debt (bad), but it has only taken Obama 4 years to add $5 Trillion to the National Debt (even worse).

      • DaveH

Johnny says — “he [Obama] didnt have anything to do with Fast and Furious, that program was already in effect before he took office”.
Do you Liberal Progressives ever tell the truth, Johnny?
Operation Fast and Furious started in October of 2009:

Romney has not been untruthful on any subjects you refer to;; you want to hear a lie so that is what you believe ;; he is 100% more open and trustworthy than your current potus;; NOW THERE IS A PROFESSIONAL LIAR [OBAMA].

      • Darren

You really think that Romney isn’t a liar. All of go ahead vote for him it does’t matter. You’ll see. Remember 2008 how everyone thought that Obama was goin to great. A change from Bush who took our liberties out from under our nose. Now Obama has continued that and then some. And Romney has done the some when he was governor, and will do the same. Do your own research people don’t believe me or this article just because its here and you read or because your mommy and daddy were repulicans or democrates. I’m not either. Me personally, I think the two parties should be abolished

    • Kay Cleveland

Romney is a liar? Where have you been? Obama is a lying, deceiving, narcissist Ass. He lied through the DNC, he has lied since 2007, and will continue to lie…because he is the “Great Deceiver.” His Hope & Change {which was Hitler’s motto when taking power in Germany} has been a total lie…and idiots fell for it. The Hope and Change is was talking about was changing America…into HIS America (socialist/communist), and hope that you idiots would continue to let him do it. Just like his NEW motto…FORWARD. Yes, he wants to continue to move forward with the unmaking and remaking of America.
Read “Obama’s America: The Remaking of the American Dream.” The dream of Obama is to live the lavish, rich life..with lavish vacations…even put it on the news…while the rest of America pays for it…or stands in soup lines. Idiot!

      • DaveH

They’re both liars. It goes with the territory. The Power of the Political Offices is like a magnet to Sociopaths who aspire to dictate other peoples’ choices and feather their own nests:

What is “hilarious” Mr Wells is you saying Obama was born in Kenya or Indonesia. Obama never said that as you implied and that has been told and retold by the Republican Party not Obama. You did get Hawaii right and that is what Obama has stated all along. Who cares if Obama thinks the “call to prayer” is the prettiest sound. You might think Lawrence Welk music is the prettiest sound ever heard and wake up to it every morning. So what! Obama may not be a strong Christian but he has been one for over 30 years now. Not everyone’s Faith can equal the next persons no matter what religion. Religion is not a contest to see who can outdo the other in getting into Heaven. There are also wealthy persons who don’t pay taxes so does your Christian Faith encourage you to lie or to jerry rig the facts to fit your bitterness?

  • John

This is funny because this article is propaganda.

    • Paul Wells

It’s propaganda to say that both sides manipulate the truth, only the left does it better, because they’ve been at the lying game for longer? HA!

      • Flashy

“Propaganda is the use of words and messages to mold the public mind to accept falsehoods as truths and divert the attention of the masses away from important subjects and toward those with little or no significance. The basis of mind control, propaganda leads to the acceptance of subtle or overt force and collectivism and directs the public to act against its self-interest.” <—Bob Livingston

Bob, I would proffer you gave but half a definition. I understand your reasoning in light of the article. And I appreciate the concentration of how Romney has been the point of a taint as well as bragging about his team is so talented in painting issues a different color to taint the thought processes,.

Propaganda isn't necessarily the use of word and messages to accept falsehoods and divert attention. It has the other half as well..to accept truths and to draw attention.

      • nc

Paul, republicans have been preaching for years that Democrats are socialist/communist who ,if elected or re-elected, would RUIN our free market economy! For the LIE (proraganda) that is see “Bulls, Bears, Donkeys and Elephants” site. That would appear to say the Democrats have done at least as good a nob as the Repugnuts! Or say a 6 times better job than the Hoover, Nixons, and the bushes! Also see “Presidents and Prosperity”@Forbes.com! Those figures seem to indicate that the Democrats have done a prety good job with the economy during their administrations. Since the depths of the bush recession the Dow has grown by 7000 points! And the job losses of 500,000+(Nov. 2008) under bush have stopped.CHANGE!!

      • DaveH

There goes NC again with his “Bulls, Bears” Propaganda.
Here is an intelligent rebuttal to his phony claims:
        http://gnuhaus.com/iblog/archives/000388.html

      • DaveH

NC says — “Since the depths of the bush recession the Dow has grown by 7000 points! And the job losses of 500,000+(Nov. 2008) under bush have stopped.CHANGE!!”.
The Dow Jones Industrials started plummeting after it was obvious that Obama would probably be elected, and of course the intelligent investors knew that he would be bad news for our economy, so they bailed.
On September 8, 2008, the DJI was at 11,421.
By October 6, 2008, the DJI was at 8451.
It hovered at about that level until another plummet started on February 2, 2009, at a DJI of 8280
and ended on March 2, 2009, at a DJI of 6626. Note that the low occurred after Obama was President.
The Dow is currently at 13535, but considering the real inflation rate, which is about double what the Government tells us, it is barely even with the level it was at on September 8, 2008. And much of that “even” came as the result of $2 Trillion worth of bailouts which the taxpayers are now on the hook for.
For those who want to know what the inflation rate really is:

Michael, i’m beginning to suspect all three, are from Cuba.

    • Ted

John – I agree. All propaganda claims to be the truth. The best propaganda is mostly true.

It’s interesting to see were the term came from. The Catholic Church formed the College of Propaganda in 1622 to supervise foreign missions and to train priest to go on those missions. propaganda is the Latin for propagation (of the faith). Liberals, conservatives, communists, fascists, libertarians, even Bob Livingstone are trying to propagate their particular faith.

      • DaveH

Propaganda is generally understood to be false information spread widely and repeatedly until people begin to believe the false information to be true.
In that case the burden, Ted, would be on you or others to demonstrate that Bob’s or others’ claims are false in order to classify them properly as Propaganda.

    • Nadzieja Batki

If you consider this article a propaganda piece you are correct but this does not end here. You already admitted where your worldview comes from and it is not Republican, Conservative or Libertarian or varient shades of these. You are either a Democrat, Leftist, Fascist or Marxist, etc,, or varient shades of these.

The scariest thing to contemplate is that regardless of the Nov. 6th outcome, the best way to glean a glimpse of America’s future is by studying Stalin’s Russia of the past.

    • Gator

That is only one of the things to be scared about – how about all the Hollow Point bullets being bought by Federal agencies that have no use for them – such as Social Security – what about the Beligerent Centers Mr. Obama has had built all over this country – what about outfitting railroad cars with Schackles being done in Washington State – what about all the Belligerent Centers being built next to Rails – what about the fact Americans can be detained indefinitely without being charged with anything or even being brought before a Judge – What do you think these things are for? Don’t be surprized if Mr. Obama declares Martial Law for what ever reason and post pones the election. Why weren’t our ambassadors protected especially since we were given a 48 hour advance notice – Why are the individuals teaching foreign troops not allowed to carry ammunition? We have lost 50 Soldiers due to this issue before it was changed. Why won’t Mr. Obama prove he is a citizen and end the controversy? Why won’t the Mainstream Media Vet Mr. Obama with direct questions pertaining important issues such as Why he waisted so much american taxepaer dollars on systems that didn’t even have a good plan – Why did he shore up the GM’s and Banks – why didn’t he let the system weed out the weak companies? GM filed bankrupsy anyways 60 days after getting Billions of dollars that went ot eh Union Big wigs. (I’m Union so don’t play that card) Why has he not created a Budget since he’s been in office ? It’s the Law and he ignores it. Just a few things to think about.

Gator, “weak companies” are not just headquarters buildings, They are employees! People! People with children to be housed, fed and educated! So a government is supposed to take a hands off attitude toward these companies and let the Churches handled the fallout of the employee’s dilemma? Answer: The churches haven’t, can’t and wouldn’t!!

Helping those companies is not just an Obama matter> bush is the granddaddy of the Tarp program to help the companies at GOVERNMENT EXPENSE! BOTH PARTIES have helped oil companies and big farmers for years! EVEN THE STRONG ONES WHO NEEDED NO HELP like the oil companies subsidized to better provide us with NEEDED fuel who produce it and then SELL IT OVERSEAS!

Speaking of budgets! I have often wonderd why bush and the Republicans would bother with budgets and NOT include the costs of the wars it started. Is that not a government expence that will last for years as we provide for the seriously injured?
Wars and weak economies are not “free”? The costs survive the creator! Thanks for nothing “W”?. Signed: The 70% who did not approve!

UPDATE about Obama’s “natural born citizen” status from the Liberty Legal Foundation.

Supreme Court Reviews Eligibility Petition Monday

The Supreme Court is scheduled to review our petition of the Georgia Court’s Obama eligibility ruling sometime Monday. During this conference, they will be deciding whether or not to accept our petition to review the decision of the lower court. Remember that the Judge Malihi ruled that Obama is a natural born citizen in defiance of standing Supreme Court precedent. The higher courts in Georgia then refused to overrule the unconstitutional ruling of Judge Malihi.

After exhausting required procedure in Georgia, we filed a petition directly with the Supreme Court of the United States. Our petition asks two questions:

        Question #1:
Does the right to associate force states to
accept any candidate from political parties for
presentation on state primary ballots when such a
candidate does not meet the minimum legal
qualifications for the office sought, thereby negating
state election laws and state control of elections?

        Question #2:
Are all individuals born on U.S. soil Article II
“natural born citizens,” regardless of the citizenship
        of their parents?

These are fundamental questions that must be addressed for our election process to have any validity.

      • Feargy852

The centers you are referring to are properly known as’Fusion Centers’ and yes you are correct that they are indeed build adjacent to railway lines and also near airports of some description. These centers for all the world resemble concentration camps and located at 71 different points across America. They are the brainchild of Homeland Security and it is F.E.M.A who will govern these installations. I think it a fair point to surmise that all of this is been put in place in advance of all out martial law in America. I do not wish to scare you American citizens, but I sincerely believe that you are well on your way to becoming slaves within your own country. There are other scary agendas also been put in place, namely mandatory inoculations for all citizens !! You will be told that these are necessary as a precaution to some pandemic or new virus outbreak, however the this could not be further from the truth. All American citizens need to wake up and observe your national institutions i.e political offices, banking organizations, The Pentagon, and also the Multimedia outlets ( visual and print forms ) !! ask yourself who owns or controls all these so called pillars of society ?? Please take the time to look at the attached link, hopefully it will go some way to opening your eyes. I like to have solid evidence put in front of me before forming opinion and I must admit that this video has really impressed me on that point.

You are the part of the Republican Party that needs to be exposed Gator. Your reckless fear mongering comments doesn’t serve anybody but too many Republicans have been following your spiel for years now. You keep saying it is happening (Martial Law,etc) but it isn’t and I doubt if it will anytime soon. You are paranoid and extra delusional and if I had the money I would personally pay for ads denouncing you and your ilk. Someone whether the Democrats or some neutral operation should have put out a 2016 movie of their own. Was Obama knocking on your door Millie? Romney also approves of NDAA if that is what you are implying. What a dilemma for you to be in! That in itself (NDAA) is not martial law although it could be a precursor. The Republican Governor of Ohio did use martial law in 1970 and that would be a better example for you.

    • Jeremy Leochner

With respect Michael I believe that Stalins Russia and America are nothing alike. When the communists came into power in Russia Russia had had a long history of absolute monarchy. The Romanovs had been in power for over 300 years. And long before them Russia was ruled by the Czars. Russia was used to an absolute ruler. So when Stalin stepped in he was full filling a role the people were used too. The difference was he was able to trick them into believing that he was a kind ruler who cared about them. When bad things happened people said “If only Stalin knew”. Our country on the other hand has a tradition of liberty and equality. Ours is a nation where dissent is a virtue and where government power is feared and questioned at every turn. If Obama ever attempted to implement anything resembling what Stalin did it would be found out immediately and universally condemned. Russia at the time the Bolsheiviks took power was technically a constitutional monarchy. Ours is a Republic. Republics do not succumb to internal tyrants until they have collapsed into anarchy. Ours is no where near such a time.

  • Jeremy Leochner

One thing I love about Romney’s 47 percent comment is he seems to completely ignore the fact that a majority of that 47 percent are the elderly, the working poor and military veterans. Also that while that 47 percent indeed pays no federal income tax they are not on a free ride. The Congressional Budget Office has data that suggests that when you take out those who pay state, payroll and other taxes other then the federal income tax the number of people who pay no taxes drops down to 10%, no where near 47%.-http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/04/13/who-doesnt-pay-taxes/

“Obama is a collectivist who believes in redistribution and is intentionally trying to crash the Nation’s economy in order to “fundamentally transform” the country” is not a truth people are unwilling yo accept. It is not the truth. Obama does believe in redistribution. Or at least he said he did 14 years ago. I take that to mean he believes in the government taking tax dollars from across the nation and putting it into a pool and then redistributing it to various programs such as medicare or the armed forces. That is not collectivism. Its called being part of a functional society. As for “fundamentally transform” the country. I have heard that a thousand times from a thousand politicians in my short 22 years of life. If any real significance is attached to that its that Obama knows rhetoric 101.

What allows such corruption and elitism as Mr. Livingston describes is the perpetual conflict portrayed by politicians and the media. The one where Americans are divided between Conservative and Liberal. Where people are either one way or the other. And where your political label some how determines everything about you and is some how what controls your moral compass. When Americans turn on each other that is when politicians win. The only way we can counter such corruption is to try and make agreements with each other in spite of our differences. Me and Mr. Livingston disagree strongly with each other on numerous things. But Mr. Livingston can attest that there are some things we can agree on. That should be our focus. Where we can agree., From there we can discuss specifics.

Ben C, if you are indeed retired and drawing social security and/or medicare, you are again among that 47 per cent. Yes, Romney is right when he says that 47% of Americans don’t pay INCOME taxes – that’s because they don’t make ENOUGH to pay INCOME taxes. However, anybody who works for a living pays FICA and Social Security taxes. As long as there are people working, there will ALWAYS be Social Security unless people like Romney stop paying INCOME taxes.

You see, the way it was set up was SUPPOSED to ensure that Social Security is ALWAYS there. But people like Romney and his supporters don’t want to pay for ANYTHING. They are really close to having a “Dicksonian” distopia. Where the poorest pay all the taxes and the rich PAY NOTHING! Don’t you see? The propaganda has been from the REPUBLICANS. The Democrats have been saying “…if you want it, you have to pay for it.” But “conservatives” believe in some “magical” market force that pays for everything so THEY DON’T.

It’s time to break through the BS and realize that the “rich” in America have had a “free ride” for too long. It is time for all working Americans to DEMAND their MONEY BACK. Why did Willy Sutton rob banks? “….cause thats where the money is!”

But along the late 1960′s and 1970′s, the democratic party got hijacked by a bunch of left wing idiots, who now say income redistribution is the way to go. Their naive precepts are, there is enough wealth in this country, that we can simply “slouch” our way through, and there will always be enough money. It’s idiots like YOU that would be the reason we are $16T in debt and counting. Don’t you want your grandkids to have any decent world to inherit, without completely bankrupting the economy, and insuring slavery (economic) for the rest of our existence? So what you are saying is that Obama’s remark about “unmaking” America so he can “remake” it the way he wants {Socialist/Communist} America is Okay with you? You without a doubt live in a bubble, if you cannot see the detriment of Obama’s new laws and executive orders of the past 4 years, and the sinking of America “the land of the free” faster than the Titanic, then you should move to a country that already has this kind of Government …maybe Cuba. There have always been rich and poor..since the foundation of the world…and trying to make every person equal causes everyone to be slaves to the government. Kinda like the “bowl of stew..for a days wages” mentality. You should see the movie 2016, and read Obama’s America: The Remaking of the American Dream.” And by the way, why do you care what other people have worked and earned, instead of the people who now live totally on the government….and why do you think you should have what others work for? It is the same as going to someone’s house and stealing what belongs to them…..What a chaotic society.

      • Johnny

the problem is everyone wants to benefit from what the government does and provides but no one wants to pay for it….national defense, schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, everyone wants to drive on them, everyone wants the police or fire dept to show up when there is an emergency but no one wants to pay for them. The rich have more to lose when their house burns down, only difference is, they have enough money or wealth to buy or have another. The problem is that our expenses as a country were X, and since they cut taxes and didnt cut spending, of course we are gonna have a shortfall, it is just simple math, the price of things go up, but our wages dont go up and Bush put two wars, two sets of tax cuts and a medicare part D prescritpion drug program on the US Credit card which is why we are so far in the damn hole right now….why dont you republicans acknowledge this fact…..Obama took these off supplemtal funding and put them in the budget which is why we have such a deficit.

      • Paul Wells

        Johnny,
I take it you might be a younger person. I’ve lived a lot of years, and i can tell you we’ve had all those roads, bridges, and infrastructure items you mention, for many years, and up until the last 20 years, we’ve maintained all that infrastructure at a reasonable cost to all. But then Lyndon Baines Jackass came along and had this wonderful idea called “The Great Society” whereby government would become more than a purveyor of public works projects designed to build/maintain the previously mentioned infrastructure. This “Great Society” would give people money for food and housing if they were down on their luck, a truly laudable idea, but monstrously expensive to maintain. And lo, and behold: What always happens when the government gets in the business of redistributing wealth happened again. Joe food stamp, and Sally government rent got used to getting something for nothing. Now, you have multiple generations of people just scamming off the government (obama phones, WIC, etc.). Understand there does need to be a safety net for those unable to work. But now, you have hordes UNWILLING to work, and there is a huge difference! You need to look beyond your nose, and see the truth (if you even can)!

      • eddie47d

Well Kay Cleveland Romney already has a good chunk of his American made money in foreign countries. Apparently he has already set up his nest egg in his “Cuba” of choice. Romney has always been good at feathering the nest of other wealthy folks but too often looks down on those who either don’t have that kind of opportunity or refuses to manipulate the markets for personal gain like he does.

      • DaveH

KG the Red says — “Yes, Romney is right when he says that 47% of Americans don’t pay INCOME taxes – that’s because they don’t make ENOUGH to pay INCOME taxes”.
Everybody in this country should pay for the Government they get to elect. And they should pay the same amount. If the poor don’t like that, then they should get a job or start their own business. What keeps them from easily doing that? Big Government of course with its spending of 40% of our economy, and its myriad rules set up to protect the Politically Connected from competition. So, like Bob essentially said, the duped masses elect the very same Big Government which keeps them from being successful. And propagandists like KG keep doing their best to appeal to peoples’ baser instincts (greed, jealousy, etc.) in an effort to keep them on track to voting for those candidates who will promise them Arpege but give them Toilet Water.
Here’s some reality of what the “rich” really pay:
        http://www.ntu.org/tax-basics/who-pays-income-taxes.html

      • DaveH

KG says — “As long as there are people working, there will ALWAYS be Social Security unless people like Romney stop paying INCOME taxes”.
Social Security was never meant to be funded by Income Taxes. So whether the rich pay their Income Taxes or not, Social Security should still be funded. That is if Big Government could be expected to keep their word. Of course they can’t.

      • DaveH

KG says — “The Democrats have been saying “…if you want it, you have to pay for it.””.
What a load. What the Democrats have been saying is — “If you want it, we will make somebody else pay for it”. They are simply buying votes from the Ignorant Masses with other peoples’ money.

      • DaveH

KG says — “It’s time to break through the BS and realize that the “rich” in America have had a “free ride” for too long. It is time for all working Americans to DEMAND their MONEY BACK.”.
Another load of Marxist bull excrement. The truth is that some of the “rich” indeed take advantage of us by using their Crony Politicians to protect them in various ways — taxpayer-paid subsidies, quotas, tariffs, price supports, and other such unfair protections from competition and failure resulting from not pleasing the consumers.
Rather than pursue the nearly impossible task of determining which of the rich are getting special protections and which became rich by pleasing the consumers, we need simply to get Big Government out of the Marketplace so they survive only when they please the consumers.
KG and his kind are either purposely or ignorantly deluding those people who don’t have enough knowledge to know that Big Government is their Enslaver NOT their Emancipator.
Break KG’s and his cohorts’ chains. Gain the knowledge of what’s really going on by reading this excellent book provided Free in PDF form by the wonderful Mises Institute:

“Rather than pursue the nearly impossible task of determining which of the rich are getting special protections and which became rich by pleasing the consumers, we need simply to get Big Government out of the Marketplace so they survive only when they please the consumers.”

Umm, if the “consumers” do not have any MONEY, then how can “they” please anyone?
That’s why we need to have UNIONS so working people CAN have a little bit of money.

Why don’t we eliminate the top rate for Payroll taxes? Right now, if you make more than 200k a year, it’s only the first $160,000 that’s taxed for PAYROLL. Why don’t we tax payroll on the FULL INCOME? That would pay for it, and it would be “fair.”

      • LeBrit

Obviously, you have not studied Economics and History. Look outside the USA and see how ‘successful’ the “Politics of Envy” and Socialism has been. Take a look on the Internet at the President’s background. He has been nurtured on Socialism/Communism. Trevor Louder may be able to help you, if you cannot find the sites

      • eddie47d

One side has been nurtured by envy (as you say) and the other has been nurtured by greed. So how do we fix the problem of human envy and greed?

        To KG:
you got it all wrong in regards to the rich paying litte taxes, no matter what the rich still paids more than you or I will ever pay in taxes, a vote for obama will mean he is going to chain yal to welfare

      • Caroline

Johnny, you say “everyone wants to benefit from what the government does and provides but no one wants to pay for it….national defense, schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, everyone wants to drive on them, everyone wants the police or fire dept to show up when there is an emergency but no one wants to pay for them.” However almost everything you list is paid for out of either state or local taxes. Hospitals are paid by insurance and fees. The only thing here that should be Federal is national defense. And I don’t mean the kind of national defense that involves invading other countries and starting wars that Congress has not approved! If the Federal Government focused on what they need to focus on and leave the rest to the state and local governments we wouldn’t be in this mess. If the government didn’t tax everyone to death then people would have enough money to donate to the charities of their choice — like what used to be done. If people needed help, there were the churches, salvation army, friends and family. Now, no one can afford to give or help out those in need.

      • Johnny

caroline, I agree with you…..and my point is…..pell grants, medicaid, reseearch & development…..infrasttructure, all of these things also need to be paid for,……republicans have made it so going back to what the tax rates were prior to obama is a tax hike…..no it isnt….those were set to expire in 2010

      • Gordon

Interesting isn’t it? When this type of discussion comes up it conclusively proves that the national economy is a plate of worms and that nobody knows the whole jist of the subject. One thing for sure is that what they are doing doesn’t work, can’t work, and is a disaster. Something different must happen soon and very soon. 4 more years of rampant national debt and we can kiss our way of life goodbye.

      • RickO

KG I followed this thread for a long time until I finally recognized where your complete mis-understanding was fueled! ( Listen to your local Public Radio station – oh, that’s right the REPUBLICANS wanted to “end” that by unfunding it. Hmmm. I think Josef Gobbles would be proud of that!!!!)

You have detailed much of the ways “our government” assists in the stability of our system and economy. Several problems are immediately clear; the things you believe the government should do, absolutely should not be done by the government according to our constitution. You say “the things the government “provides” cost money and with that I have no argument. However; these are areas where the government has no business intruding.

I worked for forty-six years and paid more than $190,000.00 into Social Security. My employers also paid $190,000.00 into MY account. At a 1% return on those funds, I should have more than $1.9 million dollars to spend taking care of myself and my family. How much do I have left after our congress has purchased “votes-with-goodies”? Unless I live far longer than I expect; I’ll get a return on my investment of about $20,000.00 per year for maby 15 years! Had my account not already been spent; I would be donating approximately $100,000.00 to KG’s favorite radio station.

KG get a life and quit expecting others to pay you way!

It’s broke because L B J and the democrats in the 1964 put the SS funds into the general fund and paid for his Great Society and War on Poverty programs.
Thus was the vault opened up to Congressional raids and Social Security doomed the fund money .
This is the legacy of LBJ’s Great Society..compassion as defined by Liberalism and the following years have seen more programs added to the welfare system.
Now we have millions of illegal immigrants’ on welfare, not to mention the housing bust of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd’s. President Obama has added to the welfare rolls since 2009, Yes Romney got the 47 percent right and it’s

Barb Winters, I have heard as many lies or half truths from the Romney/Ryan campaign as from all the last three Democratic campaigns together. First, Romney says he is for all the people, then he says it isn’t his job to worry about the bottom half of the economic world. Ryan says he is for all the women, then backs Atkins, who believes a woman can NOT get pregnant from a “legitimate” rape. Neither of them believe a woman has any right to the services and medications she already pays for when she buys insurance.

Let’s clear this point up please. The bust that was loaned to GWB after taking office was returned by Obama after he took office. There is another bust of Churchill in the WH given to LBJ in 1965 that is still in the WH, though not in the Oval Office..

That is why this thread is all about Propaganda. Obama threw out all his “Hope & Change”, “Hitler’s motto I might add”, and people like you sucked it up faster than the “Jim Jones” kool-aid drinkers. We were in a recession…and the deeds of the Democrats to push for everyone to own a home {even when they couldn’t afford one}, the crash of the housing market following…and greedy CEO’s taking big money causing the failure of GM..and then the bailout and eventually the outsourcing…..to vote for a man they didn’t even know, who had evil intentions for America, and who was a Communist Propagandist himself. Obama’s “sidekick” Valerie Jarrett is a known Communist Propagandist, and is actually the one running this country. Obama himself said, “I do NOTHING without getting the approval of Valerie.” You voted for a man…because he said he would bring “Hope & Change?” No past accomplishments, no anything? Not knowing who he is? You really need to read “Obama’s America: The Remaking of the American Dream.” He is diminishing our military so we will be vulnerable…or as he says “So we can all be on a level playing field”. He even gave the weapons to all the Muslim Brotherhood, who just used them to kill our Ambassador, two former SEALS, and a US citizen. Obama is unmaking America…to make it a Socialist/Communist America.

Neil eagerly believes the Lie. That cutting taxes caused this fiscal cliff. Its out of control spending that did this. BOTH of the last two presidents have spent like crazy. Obumma is just as gulty as Bush jr. I don’t care how much you raise taxes, you will NEVER catch up to politicians and the way they recklessly spend money. Obumma the hypocrite hired GE’s CEO even tho GE paid ZERO taxes and sent jobs in the health industry TO CHINA. He also invested in Brazilian oil while ignoring the oil industry in the US by rejecting the Keystone pipeline. Why? Because one of his bosses, George Soros, bought heavly into Brazilian oil. FACT.

      • http://www.facebook.com/melody.carmichael.33 Melody Carmichael

No, you are in error here. Not one penny has EVER in our history ever gone toward the deficit. When the government gets more money, it gets spent lavishly, and irresponsibly. We are in trouble because of Keynesian economics. Look up that big word if it is the first time you heard it.

      • eddie47d

That’s another tired old horse you keep whipping Butch. It was the Import-Export Bank that approved that Brazilian loan and Obama was never in the loop. At the time no one on that Import-Export Bank committee had any relationship with Obama and all approved by G Bush. In fairness to Bush even he didn’t control the approval of that loan. Number two the BP oil spill stopped the drilling for new oil so that falls on the oil companies who didn’t follow the proper safety regulations. That problem has been mostly solved and drilling is resuming. There are now more permits and drilling under Obama than under Bush yet sadly there are still spills taking place. The Keystone Pipeline was correctly rejected because of the potential damage to the Ogallala Aquifer. That has now been rerouted and could still be built although all the hype about job creation and oil independence because of it is mostly oil company hype not base on real facts. Number three GE is a multinational company with operations all over the world. Naturally they would also build in China which has the money and the growth. They are also still an American Company.

      • DaveH

The Ex-Im bank is an “independent” agency of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. Its Board members are appointed by the President whenever their 7-year terms are up. So to say the President has no influence over their decisions is a pipe dream to say the least, unless we would suspend all logic and assume that they don’t like their jobs anyway.

      • Nadzieja Batki

      • JeffH

eddie says “That’s another tired old horse you keep whipping Butch. It was the Import-Export Bank that approved that Brazilian loan and Obama was never in the loop.”

That’s balderdash! The administration has tremendous influence over Ex-IM Bank loans. I’ll concede that the primary proposal started under Bush, but the loans made to Brazil/Petrobras were consumated under the Obama watch.

Does Obama and his administration’s agenda have any influence over the EX-IM loans? You bet!

Earlier in 2009, Ex-Im was asked to loan the development of a plant in India, which would use the products of Wisconsin jobs. $600 million and 1000 jobs were on the line, according to the Wall Street Journal. The reasoning behind the loan denial was that the coal mine used to build the plant was “environmentally unfriendly”.

Yet the Petrobras loan subsidized an oil company. Additionally, the Petrobras deal was worth $2 billion (with a “B”; read below for actual figure at $10 billion). Furthermore, the Petrobras loan was in exchange for jobs and products that had not yet been agreed to. This means that no American jobs or economic help was really guaranteed at the time of the loan approval, as opposed to the $600-million/1000-job Wisconsin/India deal. Yet despite both deals being similarly environmentally unfriendly, only one is turned down by the bank for environmental concerns.

Obama could have called the whole thing off. No matter how politically isolated the Ex-Im Bank might be painted, revisit the Wisconsin/India case for a quick foray into Obama’s influence over the bank’s decision to approve the loan:

“The reversal came just in time for a visit by President Barack Obama Wednesday to Wisconsin, the home base of Bucyrus International Inc. [Wisconsin company], which hopes to sell the mining equipment to Reliance [Indian company] with the help of loan guarantees.”

But instead of preventing the Petrobras deal from going through, the Ex-Im bank raised the value of the preliminary loan from $2 billion to $10 billion (that is still with a “B”). According to the Latin American Herald Tribune:

The U.S. government is preparing to provide up to $10 billion in loans to finance the development of massive hydrocarbon reserves off Brazil’s coast thought to contain 80 billion barrels of high-quality crude, an amount that could lead to a six-fold increase in Brazil’s current proven reserves and transform that nation into one of the world’s 10 largest oil producers. [my emphasis]

So this loan is meant to help Petrobras become an oil powerhouse. And…

President Barack Obama’s national security adviser, Gen. James Jones, discussed the matter with officials this week [August 2009] during a visit to the South American country, Brazilian Planning Minister Paulo Bernardo da Silva told reporters.

…In case you were still wondering how much control or oversight the Obama administration had over any of this.

Enter crony-capitalist GE! Re: GE signs $1 bn contract with Brazil’s Petrobras.

So let’s see if I get this straight: Obama supporter, GE’s Jeffrey Immelt now has a deal with the peeps Obama gave millions to..

      • RickO

The only reason we have a deficit is that our congress, our polititions and our departments spend too much money! This truth is irrefutable! The socialist/redistributionist government can take every dime of income from every rich person and it will last our government approximately three days! Once the money has all been taken, the rich people have no more to spend, so huge segments of our economy will fail because there is noone to purchase the high-value goods formerly purchased by the rich.

I would love to be much richer than I am, but I understand that rich people haven’t and don’t take anything from me! Government takes from me and gives to others to purchase their votes! A tiny bit of research will prove that the upper 20% of our population pay 80% of taxes. If the government takes everything they earn each year that total may jump to 83%.

If we want to balance our national budget; simply cut the government and regulatory departments staff and budgets by 50%. We-the-people would only feel less pressure and more freedom!

      • eddie47d

That’s some fancy footwork there Jeff. If that coal mine doesn’t want to abide by environmental standards then it shouldn’t be approved. Only an saboteur of this earth would have done that or one of those who put personal profits ahead of the local surroundings. Jeff encourages the bad old days of companies raping and then the taxpayer has to do the clean up. Apparently Petrobras hasn’t made any serious environmental errors and had their cards in order before the loan so it was approved. Don’t expect Jeff to tell the whole story because he seldom does.

eddie’s lying again! I suppose you can’t refute one word so you resort to the best weapon you have lying!
Two things come to mind while reading your comment…you are a clueless liar and Ron White had you pegged from the git-go! Your’e is forever!

Wrong, Neil! The reason we have a deficit is because the idiots in Washington borrow/spend more than they collect in taxes. In addition to that, we have bullsh*t war(s) to pay for, pork-barrel-projects, supporting dead-beats, and paying for an over-bloated-government. If i missed anything, feel free to add it to the list.

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing Jay

Correction, Neil. We have a deficit because we barely have any industry left, thanks to the environmental kooks, and the Bolsheviks in the white-house. We import more than we export, hence the deficit. The deficit has nothing to do with the rich not paying enough taxes. Neither does the gargantuan debt have anything to do with the rich not paying enough taxes. We have a enormous debt because we have had a succession of irresponsible and moronic administrations, who have absolutely no scruples or character to speak of, and have have absolutely no clue about economics, or understand fiscal responsibility, or the meaning of hard-honestly-earned monies. Why should they? They are thugs, after all, extortionists, bone-breakers, employees of the mafia-bankers!

So in other words, Jeremy (aka Flashman) is a card-carrying member of the Society of Criminals who believe that theft is okay as long as they hire Government as their Proxy Thief.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Government can and often is a thief. However our society is based on helping and working with each other. Sometimes money for certain things in certain areas must come from others. Taxes and government are not the enemy. Bad government who misuse tax dollars are. If as an employee I do a horrible job and then demand that I be paid I am stealing from my employer. However if I do a good job and then demand money I am not stealing. If government uses tax dollars as they are meant to be used it is not stealing. It is being part of a society from which we all benefit and must all contribute. If the society is put ahead of the individual then tyranny follows. But if the individual is put ahead of the society anarchy then follows. Extremes are bad either way.

Jeremy is not Flashman and he made several relevant points so Dave H becomes the smart alick . Problem solver Dave H…. NOT!

      • DaveH

Jeremy is Flashman, or whatever other alter-ego he might use these days. The fact that you’re naive and ignorant, Eddie, does not change that fact. For those new people who don’t yet know about the many personalities of Flashman, go here, and then page down to Bob’s comment:

Jeremy says — “Our society is based on helping and working with each other. Sometimes money for certain things in certain areas must come from others”.
There are relatively few Government functions that couldn’t be accomplished cheaper, more politely, and more efficiently than Monopoly Government can do them. But those of you who prefer the inefficiency of Big Government can always voluntarily purchase them from Government. Keep your thieving hands out of the rest of our pockets.
“helping each other”, Jeremy (aka Flashman) is not the case when you use other peoples’ hard-earned money. Charity comes from your own pockets. When you take it from others you are plainly a thief no matter who you hire to do your dirty work.

Jeremy says — “if I do a good job and then demand money I am not stealing”.
You are if the Employer didn’t freely contract with you to pay you that money.

Jeremy says — “But if the individual is put ahead of the society anarchy then follows”.
No, if the individual is put ahead of the collective, peace ensues, because nobody is allowed to Force that individual to do things he doesn’t agree with, and therefore there is no resentment on that individual’s part.

Jeremy (aka Flashman) is obviously part of the Society of Criminals:

      • Jeremy Leochner

1: How can what the government does be done better without government. I would like to know if there is a better way.

2: Dave when you use roads or bridges, if you call for a fireman or policeman, if you go into a public building or use a public facility, if you use anything that was paid for with taxes you are using other peoples money. Government service is not charity. It is a service. Medicare and Social Security are not charities. They are services to people who deserve and have earned help. Charity is willing contribution. Contributions to society may not be what you wish but remember freedom is not free.

3: You did freely contract. You did when you decided to be a citizen of this country. When yo decided to live here. When you cast a vote in an election. When you exercise your basic rights you are contracting with this nation. This is not something you choose to enter. It is your legacy and you can choose to be a part of it or not. If you choose not to okay. However if you wish to be part of a society you have to contribute. Unless you can find some way to live without any interaction with anyone else. If you live in a community or society you have to contribute. Its not tyranny, its just a fact.

4: And I would point out its a nation, not a collective. Referencing the common good or the nation is not collectivism. Referencing the community is not collectivism. Saying I am not the center of the universe is not the same as giving up on who I am and what I want. Its not all about you is not the same as you do not matter. But when what individuals want is declared more important then the community anarchy follows. The police can at times be tyrannical and hurt people. However if we just got rid of them there would be no system of laws to prevent crime. Government can at times be bad. But if we had no government it would be every man for themselves. Government is not the enemy. Bad government is the enemy.

    • DaveH

Jeremy (aka Flashman) says — “The only way we can counter such corruption is to try and make agreements with each other in spite of our differences”.
That’s a laugh riot. A Liberal Progressive talking about making “agreements” at the same time he advocates for Big Government to Force his way on the rest of us.

      • Jeremy Leochner

I do not want to force anything on anyone Dave. We need to have government to help provide for our society, I want to have help in stopping bad government and corruption. I believe that you are going as far against government as you appear to think I am going in favor of it. That is why I come on here and attempt to have conversations. So we can all lay our cards on the table and discuss. I think you and I both agree on our hatred of corrupt or bad government. Maybe in that you and I can find something we can work with. I think we both want something o be done about the state of our country. Well I think this is a way to do that.

      • DaveH

For those who would like a comprehensive treatment of the kind of Society we could have if not for Forcers and Takers like Jeremy (aka Flashman) and his ilk:

Take the elderly out of that. They have earned their way.

    • rick

I need further clarification. You say “government taking tax dollars from across the nation and putting it into a pool and then redistributing it to various programs is called being a part of a functioning society.” How is forcing someone to give against their will, whether by individuals, gangs, or government, anything less than theft?

      • momo

When the government does it, it’s legalized theft!

      • Jeremy Leochner

Rick I will use a reference to an employee. If as an employer I have workers I am required to pay them whether I wish to or not. Could that not be called a form of stealing. I believe not. I believe it is part of the requirements of society. When I need help I ask others to help me. By the same token if someone needs help I try my best to help them. I scratch your back you scratch mine sort of thing. In order for society to function sometimes resources from one area have to be used to help others. Its a burden and a hassle but it is a part of being in a society. We are all part of a community or family or whatever you wish to call it. We live with each other. It is important for us to carry our own weight. However along with that it is just as important for us to help each other. If everyone just did what they wish and did not worry about others our society would fall apart. Like the old saying goes “There is no I in team”. Does that mean the individual does not matter. Of course not. Its a balance that needs to be maintained. To try and not put the society above the individual but at the same time not put the individual above the society. In the end this is what I believe. Our armed forces, our infrastructure our police, our fire departments, our roads, our bridges, our medicare or our social security or our public education system. One way or the other we all benefit from some thing related to government and taxes. If the taxes are distributed well then I believe we all can benefit. If not we can all suffer. I see bad government as the enemy not government. And as such I believe that it is taxes being misused that are the enemy not taxes. Money given to someone who does nothing for you in return is stealing. Money given to someone who does something for you in return is payment for a service rendered.

      • DaveH

Thanks Jeremy (aka Flashman) for showing readers the extreme lack of logic of Liberal Progressives.
Jeremy says — ” If as an employer I have workers I am required to pay them whether I wish to or not. Could that not be called a form of stealing. I believe not. I believe it is part of the requirements of society”.
No, it could not be called a form of stealing, Jeremy (aka Flashman) because you Freely contract with your workers to exchange things of value — your money for their labor. It is a voluntary exchange unless Government with their Coercive Power gets involved and favors one party over the other.

Jeremy (aka Flashman) says — “When I need help I ask others to help me. By the same token if someone needs help I try my best to help them. I scratch your back you scratch mine sort of thing. In order for society to function sometimes resources from one area have to be used to help others. Its a burden and a hassle but it is a part of being in a society”.
Voluntary contracts are not part of the discussion. We are talking about Involuntary Contracts and they have nothing to do with being part of Society unless you belong to the “Society of Criminals” as does Jeremy (aka Flashman).

Jeremy (aka Flashman) says — “Money given to someone who does something for you in return is payment for a service rendered”.
Apparently you are very confused, Jeremy (aka Flashman). Money is not “given” to the Government — it is coercively taken.

Being on SS doesn’t mean you don’t pay income tax. After Medicare takes it’s 18% each month I have less than $10,000 a year to live on and yet I ended up paying $47 to the IRS. Don’t tell me we don’t pay.

    • Dave

Jeremy, what about the things that YOU think that YOU can agree with anybody about? What compromises (that might certainly NOT be in your own self-interests) can YOU offer to the solutions foray? Don’t just sit back complaining that others have to offer some resolution acceptable to you! Walk the talk!

      • Jeremy Leochner

Okay Dave. I will try to offer what I can. I support the idea of cutting spending. I would like to hear offers from those with better understanding then myself and I will decide what I think. In regards to spending I am willing to compromise on what to cut. As for taxes I believe the Bush tax Cuts on the marginal tax rate for the top 2 percent should be allowed to expire thereby returning the rate to what it was during the time of clinton. I believe that a combination of spending cuts and tax increases is a good way to get us out of this recession and prevent another. I believe some government regulations should be gotten rid of. However we need to be judicial in deciding which ones to get rid of. More then I believe Romney is. And we need to add more regulations to the banking and mortgage industries to prevent the kind of sub prime mortgage deals and other underhanded dealings that took place just before and caused the economic meltdown.

In relation to Propagandizing the masses, your government and your media has applied this to its full effect in relation to the 9/11 events !! They have perpetrated a colossal lie against the American people and the most saddening aspect of it is that most Americans do not even question the accounts given by their Government regardless of how ridiculous their story is !! All true Americans who love their country and who cherish the ideals of the founding fathers should take a good look at the attached link. I was very impressed with this video and I think you will be also.

Mr. Loechner- You’re full of hot air, propaganda, and BS yourself. Like Twain said- lies, damn lies, and statistics. You’re a statistical liar in addition to being “full of it.” There are WAY more than 10 percent of people, even if you deduct the groups that you have, who don’t pay taxes. For instance, illegal immigrants. They make up a sizable percentage of the population now, get paid in cash frequently, and don’t pay taxes. Then there is another sizable percentage who actually DO pay takes for employed work but get it all back to them PLUS a credit (hand-out) using Earned Income Credit. Then there are many assorted other “not counted” groups (prisoners, homeless, hanger out “homeboys”, etc., etc., etc.). You’re either stupidly naive or a purposeful liar- neither is a compliment.
