Richard Nixon kept a list of enemies.

Representative Darrel Issa (R-Calif.) likened President Barack Obama to former notoriously paranoid President Richard Nixon last week because Obama reportedly keeps an “enemies list.”

“Not since Richard Nixon have we seen a president who puts together an enemies list and has a whole team pursuing it,” Issa told the cast of “Fox and Friends.” “That’s what’s happened in this administration. It’s sad. It’s not the America I want to see going forward. I sincerely hope that after the election, regardless, the American people will have made a statement that they won’t tolerate this.”

Issa was referencing collusion between the left-wing political advocacy group Media Matters and the Obama Administration’s Department of Justice. The Daily Caller brought the relationship to light earlier this month reporting that Attorney General Eric Holder’s communications staff has collaborated with Media Matters for America “in an attempt to quell news stories about scandals plaguing Holder and America’s top law enforcement agency.”

The publication provided dozens of emails between Justice and Media Matters to support its revelation.

As of deadline of this article, Media Matters and Justice were both mum on the issue. There is a possibility, however, that the House Committee on Oversight and Government reform, which Issa chairs, will probe the relationship.

“I think the important point is, these people represent the culture that President Obama brought into Washington, a culture of division, a culture that embraces the concept of, the 1 percent is evil and somehow the rest of America just needs to…punish the 1 percent,” Issa said. “I guess I’m part of the 1 percent for purposes of their attack. So are you.”

Comrade obamas list must be really long because I don’t know a single person who likes him. Oh excuse me, one customer whom I asked why she liked obama and she said because of obamacare because now she could get help with her insurance from the gov’t!! Imagine that!! President Nixon had to resort to using Cuban exiles in the USA to investigate his enemies, as such was illegal. Since passage of the Patriot Act and other “anti-terrorism” legislation, Presidents Of The United States can assign the job — totally legally — to the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc., as well as having enemies dragged off to indefinate detention in Guantanimo, sans any legal charges or public notice. If Obama had an enemies list, ala President Nixon, it would double as a roll call list at Camp Delta.

Whether there is a compilation of names labeled “Enemies” does not obviate the appearance of illegal political activity by the Justice Department. The Department’s use of a partisan group to shape public perception of the Justice Department on politically significant issues, and by extension Mr. Obama, is very likely a violation of the Hatch Act.

After he lost the 1952 election many people who voted against him wrote Stevenson letters expressing admiration for him. Again the Democratic Party’s nominee for President in 1956, he received the largest popular vote of any losing candidate in American history.
As I recall, Stevenson lost the election because he saw a psychiatrist.

But back on topic, I can’t imagine any candidate can match Rock Star Obama.

He never promised hope and change would occur in an instant, these things he promised take time and when he first took that slogan few if any knew that the economy was going in the crapper and like 9/11 that changed everything and with so many more interested in making him a one term president than contributing to hope and change it was like putting the brakes on that concept. Romney’s comment was correct in that the 47% is most likely to vote for Obama.

What compelling evidence this article provides! “Obama reportedly keeps an enemies list.” All that means is that someone, somewhere out there in the giant, largely mindless, blogosphere has said: “he keeps an enemies list.” Zero proof, zero evidence, zeo citation that can be fact-checked – but typical. Should or shouldn’t a Presidential candidate show all his tax returns as Obama did? College records may be important but would it make any difference if neither candidate went to college. What if a steel worker or a bricklayer ran for this high office would you find fault with that too and disqualify that person? We keep harping that the Elites control the world yet all we do is install other Elites.

There’s a t-shirt out there that says, “I’m supposed to be more concerned about what Romney does with his money than what Obama does with mine?”

Screw Romney’s tax return. Last time I checked, it wasn’t illegal to be rich in this country; although Obama and his minions are desperately trying to change that. Romney contributed something like 30% of his income to charity and didn’t even claim all of it as a deduction, which he was entitled to do and which means he paid more federal taxes than he had to. That alone tells me a lot about this man’s character.

But yeah, I’d love to see Obama’s college records, because I’m sure those will tell us tons about his character, or lack thereof. The very fact that he has spent millions in attorney fees to keep those records under wraps means they must contain something worth hiding.

And don’t forget, Obama is rich, too. At least with Romney, we know where his money came from, but where did Obama’s money come from? Especially since the only REAL jobs the man ever held were that of a community organizer and a “professor.”

While the concept of ‘divide and conquer’ valid on the battle field, one would have hoped that something a little more civilized would have been attempted by those we have put into power. The parallels between Obama and other, less-than-well remembered “leaders” is too close. We often condemn Nixon but forget that he was cheated of the presidency in 1960 by thousands of dead people voting for Kennedy. Even then, the election was the closest we’ve had. Nixon could have appealed the results through legal actions but declined to do so since he believed the Soviet Union was a very serious threat and lack of a decided national leader would be worse than letting Kennedy win, even through Democratic cheating. As for the comments by Kinetic-1, he can offer no more than a personal attack on a politician he dislikes. His (Kinetic’s) perspective is all too clear.

This is not true and is another urban myth. JFK only polled 109,000 more popular votes than Nixon out of 68 million cast. This is true. But JFK beat Nixon 303 to 219 in the electoral college. The only place where charges of voting irregularities emerged was in Chicago which purportedly helped JFK win Illinois. But with his large electoral lead even if JFK lost Illinois, Nixon still would have lost the presidency. He did not have enough electoral votes even with Illinois and the negation of the Daley political machine. And don’t think that Republican precinct chiefs in rural and suburban districts that Nixon won did not pump up the vote a little for their boy either. It isn’t like any party had or has a monopoly on these election day shenanigans.

Issa has been openly out to make a name for himself by being the man to “get” President Obama since day ONE. Half the time he doesn’t even bother to line up evidence before making his accusations. He’s guilty of numerous ethics violations himself, but just like those adulterous, self righteous Congressmen who went after Clinton (yep, we’re talking about you, Newt) he hopes we won’t notice his hypocrisy. Does Obama really have an “enemies list” like Nixon’s? I don’t know if this issue with Holder really compares, but you can be certain that Issa is the last man I would trust for the truth on this or any other issue.

When the man in charge of executing and enforcing the laws of the United States lies under oath, that’s called perjury, and the impeachment articles clearly describe it as high crimes and misdemeanors under the Constitution.

Like so many of your tribe, you confuse lying with perjury. No law exists to make lying a crime. Were it so, the government would collapse tomorrow and many posters to this site would be imprisoned.

Perjury, on the other hand, is a crime, and in Clinton’s case was a federal crime. Didn’t matter if the alleged offense was murder, jaywalking or spitting on the sidewalk. Even 31 House Democrats had the good sense to vote for impeachment.

Scooter Libby was sentenced to 30 months in prison and fined $250,000 on two counts of perjury, two counts of making false statements to federal investigators, and one count of obstruction of justice. And guess what? He had no part in the outing of Valerie Plame, and was therefore LESS culpable than Clinton prior to his perjury.

The attempt of the left to perpetuate this wholly fabricated account that Clinton was impeached for sexual peccadilloes is a clear example of the WORST sort of propaganda, attempts to revise the truth of history, and is all too common amongst those who would denigrate our respect for the Constitution as the Law of the Land.

I didn’t say they Impeached him for his sexual discretions, I said they went after him, using his personal life as a weapon even though they themselves were guilty of the same. The Republicans were looking for ANYTHING they could find to bring him down. When they failed to bring him down with the WhiteWater investigation, they went after his sex life. Yes, he lied about his affair with Monica Lewinski. Surprised? How many of the Congressmen would (or did) lie to avoid such a personal scandal? Vig…c’mon. Clinton was impeached on two articles. One was the Grand jury investigation where he denied having an affair with Lewinsky. Legally, Clinton didn’t have an affair…but the GOP led House went partisan and charged he did and thus lied to the GJ. The other was Obstruction of Justice..again, concerning his denial of getting a BJ from Monica. During the impeachment proceedings, if you recall…there were so many outtings of GOP Congressmen having affairs it was like musical chairs .

The Senate barely held its mirth as it rejected both claims and refused to convict.

Compare that to Scooter Libby who, for political purposes and revenge, outted a CIA Covert Op in charge of monitoring nuclear weapons development throughout the Third World. Compare that as well with Cap Weinberger during iran/Contra in refusing to testify before a GJ or any other investigatory board if it required his testimony under oath. Same with Bush I.

In what part of that statement do you find any mention of sex?

Kinetic and you, Flashy, have no idea of the meaning of the word “perjury.” When Kinetic says, “Yes, he lied about his affair with Monica Lewinski,” he fails to understand that lying and perjury are two very distinct things..

You and I may think there’s some excuse for lying, but to try and minimize the gravity of a president committing perjury is worse than shameful. It’s further confirmation that the left doesn’t give a rat’s a$$ about the Constitution. Perjury is perjury, for whatever reason, and it’s punishable under law.

As one PL post pointed out, Bush and Cheaney only avoided perjuring themselves by refusing to testify under oath. It was all such a game, and in the end the issues under which Clinton perjured himself were personal in nature and essentially unrelated to anything involving government. They put him in a spot where he could either tell the truth and admit to adultery, or lie about the encounter and risk perjury. He choose wrong in my opinion, but the whole situation was nothing more than political gamesmanship.

Now, if you want to talk about Presidents and perjury, how about Reagan? Was Clinton’s BJ as serious as Reagan’s sale of arms to the Iranians? Was a denial of “sexual relations” anything near the level of Reagan’s now infamous plan to divert blame and place it on Oliver North? I get the gravity of perjury, but it’s hard to get too excited about Clinton in the face of what went on in his predecessor’s administration.

In the end, the bigger story here is that Clinton was able to not only continue on as President, but to be effective while the Republicans wasted tens of millions of dollars on a witch hunt. That and he’s been a more effective ex-President than either Reagan or Bush 1 & 2.

The real underlying reason was sex as they knew there was no perjury or obstruction of justice and sex between consenting adults is legal and hoping there would be enough disgust and support from the public because of this sex they hoped they could make it work under these false pretenses but the american public were not buying into their totally BS lies and congress was then motivated to acquit. No that is not why. Nixon KNEW he would be convicted in his upcoming impeachment proceeding. THAT is the reason why he resigned. Clinton’s political enemies failed to convict him in his impeachment process. Clinton was impeached but he was NOT CONVICTED by two/thirds of the Senate – and this included several Republican Senators voting in his favor. THAT is the reason Clinton did not resign. He WON in his impeachment trial in the Senate. Nixon KNEW he would LOSE.

What Nixon and his henchmen did involved our political system and who will have control over the nation and the other party. What Clinton did involved an individual and had little if any bearing on whether our system would rise or fall. What Nixon did was truly criminal and what Clinton did was just bad taste.Very big difference in the witch hunts.

First, President Obama is not my God, and I resent you folks who claim to be Christians and then spout such absurdities. Did I vote for him? Yes. Am I happy with all of his decisions and actions? No.
Second, Obama did not give 6.4 Billion to the Muslim Brotherhood. This number is simply the total amount of aid sent to egypt, which despite claims from the right wing talking heads is NOT run by the Brotherhood. And before you start running off at the mouth, this amount is in line with the almost 2 Billion dollars we have given Egypt each year since 1979!

Third, the President did not apologize to the killers. The embassy, before the crowds had breeched security, did express their concern and regret for the heinous piece of trash that claims to be a film, but at no time has the U.S. excused the actions of the killers.
