IDs For Convention, But Not To Vote

A double standard for Democrats. While the President Barack Obama Administration wants to outlaw voter ID laws in State and national elections, they were perfectly OK with requiring them to vote at their own convention. In fact, they required two forms of identification before a delegate could even enter the hall in Charlotte. Anyone detect a little bit of hypocrisy here?

Another debt downgrade in Illinois. Despite recent tax increases on businesses and individuals, the red ink continues to flow in Illinois. The State’s budget deficit just hit a staggering $43 billion. Even worse is $83 billion in unfunded pension liabilities. As a result, Standard and Poor’s just downgraded its rating on Illinois’ bonds, giving them the worst credit rating of any State besides California. Looks like the boys back home have been inspired to copy the example their most illustrious politician has been setting in Washington.

How about a holiday honoring job creators? The most meaningless holiday in America has now ended. Do we really need a national holiday honoring “labor” anymore? Lawrence Reed, the president of the Foundation for Economic Education, points out that “Labor without capital looks like Haiti or North Korea: plenty of people working but doing it with sticks instead of bulldozers.” Maybe it’s time we started honoring the people who create jobs by starting or expanding a business.

Dems do an about face. Well, that didn’t last long. When controversy raged over the Democrats leaving God out of this year’s platform, they voted to put Him back in. Or did they? After taking three voice votes, it sure didn’t seem to most observers that the measure — allegedly ordered by the President himself — got the necessary two-thirds vote. No matter; it was declared approved.

They can’t vote the dead if they have to have ID’s and the illegals would have to show their welfare ID cards, now they don’t think that is fair? Need a ID to get welfare, have a bank account, to drive a car but, it’s to hard to get one to vote. LOL, they only lie when their lips are moving and they never shut up.

    Have you ever talked to a liberal who didn’t start lying as soon as they could open thier mouth. They wanted ID so they could keep republicans out, it’s that simple. You can bet the democrat cheat sheet started circulating months ago so they can get a jump on dead people and other ways to get illegal votes. Every state needs to hit them with voter ID laws. Also birth certificates and school records!!!!!!!!

      There are hundreds of people who would gladly enter the Democrat or Republican Conventions for the sole purpose of disrupting the process. No one need arguments about who is in the wrong seat and who shouldn’t be there. It’s like buying a ticket to a broadway play or football game and someone is sitting in your seat . Who needs the problems that would involve. Is that how you would run an event Vigilant where anyone can do anything they want. Apparently so! Let those who don’t have a legitimate ticket stay outside and protest and express their views. When it comes to voting all voters have their names on a list and usually a utility bill with name on it is all that is required. Voter fraud is rare but the the 15 seconds of fame someone of dubious character going into a convention would get would create great havoc. Neither the Republicans or Democrats would need the screamers,disruptors or even a potential assassinator making a folly of our system Besides politicians can make fools of themselves without outside help.

        Not at all, eddie, you’ve missed my point completely. Did you hear me complain about the ID requirements? I didn’t think so.

        Let me counter with, “would you run an election, eddie, where anyone can do anything they want?” Certainly, you must grant that the requirements to vote are a damned sight more important than the requirement to enter a convention or Broadway show.

        How in God’s name can you so smugly say that voter fraud is rare when you couldn’t even quantify the voter fraud in the absence of ID?

        Have you never had your name miss-spelled on one or more of those lists? Most people could vote noticeably more than once using that ID system.
