It applies to interviews only, and given the historical cut and paste, out of context practices of interview “journalists,” it’s no wonder the interviewee wants some control over the message. Think about it; the final edit gives a more concise and accurate presentation of what the interviewee wants to get across without the biased “fine tuning” of the (primarily leftist) press.

Moreover, this practice can not be applied to live press conferences, campaign speeches and live “ambush” interviews by the TV networks.

The Bass brothers of Texas (R’s) were involved in real estate back in the 70′s here in Colorado. They took the money and ran even though they filed bankruptcy.
