Shield Your Liver From Damage With This Drink

July 31, 2012 by

A recent study of more than 12,000 people shows that up to one glass of red wine a day doesn’t just help your heart and blood pressure, it cuts your risk of liver disease in half. This liver protection is mainly attributed to the resveratrol, a polyphenol and antifungal chemical that’s found just below the skin of red wine grapes.

But do other kinds of alcohol such as beer provide similar protection? Absolutely not! According to the same study, other alcoholic drinks can even do harm to your liver.

So let your liver know it’s loved. Turn up a glass of red wine each day.

PEOPLE OFTEN TALK ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF WINE-DRINKING, BUT, IT IS UNREALISTIC TO ASSUME MOST OF THESE DRINKERS ONLY DRINK WINE – MOST ALSO DRINK BEER AND/OR LIQUOR.

THEREFORE, THIS STUDY IS FLAWED BECAUSE WINE-ONLY DRINKERS ARE RARE. THE 12,000-PARTICIPANT NUMBER IS QUITE TELLING. THIS COUNTRY HAS A POPULATION OF MORE THAN THREE-HUNDRED MILLION.

Another way to support your liver is to drink a glass of filtered lemon water every morning when you get up. The lemon water helps to cleanse the liver.

Wouldn’t eating grapes do the same thing?

I would prefer Grape juice over wine since studies show 2 or more drinks a week increases chances of breast cancer….Also consideration must be given to spiritual and emotional roots of disease. Medical science says up to 95% of disease is from our thoughts.
Yes taking care of our temple is very important but we must address the other since we are a tri-part being. Blessings Pastor Gail

What about a Resveratrol supplement beverage…to avoid the alcoholic content of wine?

    • duane

I have done some research on this too. Since I am a recovering alcoholic. Grapeseed extract is a good substitute for the wine and you get more nutrients from it, along with the resveratrol. Hope this helps. A good site to go to is mercola.com for more information.
