Happiness Is Contagious

July 17, 2012 by

Can you really “catch” happiness from another person? Absolutely! A study reported in the British Medical Journal showed that happiness is contagious — more contagious than sadness — and the more happy people you are acquainted with, the happier you will be.

University of California, San Diego political scientist and study co-author James H. Fowler concluded the following from the study:

  • Happiness from a direct social contact increases your chance of being happy by 15 percent.
  • Happiness from a second-degree social contact (friend of a friend or friend of a sibling) increases your chance of being happy by 10 percent.
  • Happiness from a third-degree social contact (friend of a friend of a friend) increases your chance of being happy by 6 percent.

Since happiness has been shown to improve heart health, reduce pain and lessen your chances of a fatal health disaster, smile and infect others with good cheer.

Happiness is a “Choice”: “Choose To Be Happy” and you will…
    especially; because Jesus Loves You!

Laughter is the best medicine. Now some are starting to believe happiness can be passed on to each other. We all need to keep on laughing and maybe the world will start wondering what we are so happy about. It surely is not the things that are going on all over the world. If we didn’t laugh and try to be happy we would all be crying. I had rather wipe away tears of laughter instead of tears of sorrow and pain any time. How about you??

More happy days? Sounds socialistic they can get their own happy days. I’m not paying for anyone’s happy day.

RichE, Just as long as you don’t expect “us” to pay for “your” happy days.
Try not to pay for our misery either.
      Keep smiling.

I know a guy who likes to go to the movie theatre to watch comedy’s.
He says he laughs harder when others around him are laughing too.
    Must be something to it.
Smile, it makes your enemies wonder what you’re up to.
Also, being happy is the best revenge.
