Gail… There is nothing in The Constitution about health care so I wont tell you there is. A main function of the Supreme Court is to judge the constitutionality of a “thing” and it could be anything. Are the actions in it Constitutionally legal? Chief Justice Thomas did not say he liked ObamaCare, he said it is ok as far as he sees. There are things in ObamaCare I do not like, many of those are Republican insertions, a sort of “we, the GOP, will not allow passage of this if you do not include some of our stuff”. The GOP tried and failed in the early 90s to get something passed and Reagan wanted national Health Care. Obama said he didn’t want those things included but he wanted national health for the country so he had to compromise to get it passed. I hope in his second term he and others remove the bad stuff.

Allow the corporations to bring the several trillions of dollars in off-shore banks back into this country at “0%”……yes that’s “ZERO” and a lot of it will be used for investments and creating jobs. Let’s see if we don’t lower the taxes on that money, they’ll keep it in off-shore banks……….it does no one any good!! DUHHHHH 3. Start drilling in this country for oil and gas. That’s exactly what North Dakota is doing and they have a 3% unemployment rate, and business is booming!! 4. Start holding Obama’s actions to the fire. The alleged Obama war crimes, are you referring to Libya? His participation in the invasion of Libya will be found to be not war crimes… he was not being unconstitutional. I say this for two reasons… One) The United Nations was behind this invasion and America was approached by the UN, and like Obama said, “The United Nations out ranks any Congress in any single nation.” And Two) probably most of all, there is the The War Powers Resolution of 1973, passed in the aftermath of the Vietnam War. Under the act, the President can only send combat troops into battle or into areas where ”imminent” hostilities are likely for 60 days without either a declaration of war by Congress or a specific Congressional mandate.

The President can extend the time the troops are in the combat area for 30 extra days, without Congressional approval, for a total of 90 days.

Obama notified Congress with a letter outlining what was going to happen within the correct time frame and he has the United Nations backing. He is not a war criminal.

As to Ron’s comments, (i) I’m not sure which Navy he served in but my loyalty both in the Corps and today was and is to the Constitution, not the current God-king, but (ii) perhaps large corporations (especially those now run by unions and bailed out by government are doing “fine”, likewise other large corporations looking to have the taxpayers assume the costs of medical coverage for employees. However, most of the productivity and new jobs in the country come from small businesses which are Obozo’s whipping boy. Contrary to Obozos warped definition of the “middle class” it includes small business owners and entrepreneurs (rather than those who don’t pay taxes) and they’re hurting. Just drive through any community and look at the closed storefronts.

My daughter also works for a large medical device maker who is making investment decisions now to offset the obozocare 2013 & 2014 imposition of 15% excise tax (to start) on medical devices. So what does a medical device maker due when faced with ultimate bankruptcy at the hands of the government who sets the prices, well they do the only thing that they have control of: move the production lines to another country with a lower cost of living and more favorable labor market. Out-sourcing becomes the only way to remain in business.

Now a thinker, not possessed of intellect, would see this medical device tax as rightfully taking from those nasty multinational corporations and giving to some other more deserving souls. What I see is the cost of medical care going up and since that is not allowed then the rationed care as currently found in Britain will be the result for those same said “more deserving souls”. Now that the doctors must spend another 15+% on a patient that is under the arbitrary cost controlled national healthcare will in essence be ‘rationed’ out into the future when their “share” of the producer’s money becomes available. Nice unnamed “Death Panel” administered by an appointed crony Czar who has an incredible gold plated health plan exempt from the same ‘gold plated’ health care plans tax.

I read a report just yesterday on the BBC that the wait time is 18 weeks. Of course there was a mistake made and they’re “sorry this happened”, but some of these people waiting included cancer patients.

While working as a travel RN, nurses from Canada told me about the universal healthcare scheme there. They said no matter how dire your need, you have to wait for treatment. Need by-pass surgery right now or else? Too bad, sux to be you. Get in line and wait. Period end of story.

There was a TV commercial that ran here in the US about a Canadian woman with a brain tumor. She was told it would be 6-9 months before she could receive treatment. She told them “I’ll be dead by then.” This woman had to come to the US to get the brain tumor removed to save her life.

And from what the locals said, this has happened just since Obama was elected. Haywood Jablomie — you are so right, it is the private sector who creates, or not, jobs for the private sector and not the government. But we see even, for example, with the GW tax breaks, which were intended as intensives to help create jobs – DIDN’T. You just can not have a workable Trickle Down if those at the top who receive do not let any trickle. The intended “intensives” were instead used as ‘savings’ by the corporations.

The fact is big corporations want to keep as much money at the top. Why? Well, if execs want to continue to receive their huge salaries, benefits and perks with those huge bonuses, they must keep the big investers and their boards smiling. If execs want to get their contracts renewed they have to keep the bosses happy. So they “DO MORE WITH LESS”. They allow so much less to trickle down. They do however try to keep expenses down as much as they can.

By the way, payroll is by far the easiest expense to control. Create less jobs and you have lower expenses that way. Keep minimum wages down, or try to eliminate minimum wages all together, you keep expenses down. Keep pay raises for the hourly people down you save on expenses. Get the politician you purchased to help you keep expenses down and you get smiles from those who control your exec contract.

The private sector can create more jobs if they want to but they have other agendas. For the corporations it is all about growing their bottoms lines and keeping expenses down and the GOP is in business exclusively to to help them do that. Romney is one of the corporate types who will help his own kind do that.

If you remember after Romney killed so many jobs as a Bain man and as Governor he said it was all done in the name of “Good Business”. He will be that kind of businessman he says we need for the corporations if he is elected. And Trickle Down will continue to not trickle.

Gail… Wow. My opinion on the morality of those in office. That is a tough job since I would have to do an analysis on each and all of them and I am not qualified. In general I believe if someone goes into politics to begin with, with the ideal of representing the people who voted for them, and in time they feel forced to vote according to how the party tells them to, regardless of how it may benefit or hurt their constituents, they are without ethics to say the least, maybe without morals too, they would have sold out. If, on the other hand, one goes into politics because it is a rather easy and self benefiting job with some power on top of it, We The People do pay and benefit them well, then that “representative” most likely had no ethics and maybe no morals to begin with.

One thing to consider is if you want to be in politics you depend on your party for support. If you refuse to comply after a while your party stops supporting you and you most likely will lose a elections. Is that worth ones ethics and maybe what we think of as our soul? It is up to the individual. I like to speak out and write about politics and I know I couldn’t be a politician. Gail… Money taken from the Social Security fund, whether to fund a war or whatever, has been left with IOUs. As far as I am concerned if those IOUs are not payed off within a reasonable time those who signed them should be arrested for theft. Social Security would not be in so much deep water if it wasn’t opened up to the general fund. I believe President Johnson did that. Oh, there is loads of talk about the taking of SS funds but not much has been done about it. We need to soon.

Banks are nasty people and I will leave some of my favorite quotes about them from some old guy I bet you know but it isn’t just banks. Stimulus will never stimulate any economic growth by way of helping us to spend our extra money unless those being stimulated, those at the top who receive the Stimulus, do not use it for anything more than just savings for themselves. That has been the case so often with Corporations in general. My definition of big Corporate Executives, banks and others, it doesn’t matter if they are greedy. This is why Trickle Down will not work if savings is how the trickle is used.

Contracted Execs have three main objectives. 1. To increase the bottom line. 2. Keep as much money at the top as they can. 3. To keep expenses down as much as possible. My number 3 is in support of the other two but it has a life of its won as well. How they accomplish their main goals is not always ethical and that includes how they “speak” to our representatives.

By the way, payroll is by far the easiest expense to control. I mention that for several reasons but here is a good one. We should know, in general, big corporate executives have very lucrative contracts, $millions of bucks and bennies and perks, and they report to their Board of Directers. If the execs want to go on being execs there, and maybe improve their contract at renewal time, the execs must keep their top share holders happy and in turn, their board. Jobs are created only when it is in ‘their’ best interest, not ours, so where are the incentives for execs to crate jobs? Government can create only Government jobs but then there are the so-called incentives for the corporations. I believe small corporations are better job creators, as they can, if they get incentives for Uncle Sam.

You asked me for my “opinion of Harry Reid and Nancy P”. To answer you on that let’s just say they are politicians and they are doing their party thing. So is John A. Boehner and Cantor. It all depends on how they are “stimulated”. Remember that Corporate execs do a lot of Government stimulating and that result is why we need to listen to the founders. When you hear people say, especially politicians, they align themselves with the founders, think about what they say in general and what they do. See the below quotes. See the below quotes.
