The Socialization Of America Is Economically Impossible

The Socialization Of America Is Economically Impossible
UPI
Supporters cheer after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a majority of Obamacare.

I understand the dream of the common socialist. I was, after all, once a Democrat. I understand the disparity created in our society by corporatism (not capitalism, though some foolish socialists see them as exactly the same). I understand the drive and the desire to help other human beings, especially those in dire need, and the tendency to see government as the ultimate solution to all our problems.

Let’s be honest: Government is just a tool used by one group or another to implement a particular methodology or set of principles. Unfortunately, what most socialists today don’t seem to understand is that no matter what strategies they devise, they will never have control. And those they wish to help will be led to suffer, because the establishment does not care about them — or you. The establishment does not think of what it can give; it thinks about what it can take. Socialism, in the minds of the elites, is just a con game that allows them to curry the favor of the serfs.

Other powers are at work in this world, powers that have the ability to play both sides of the political spectrum. The monied elite have been wielding the false left/right paradigm for centuries, and to great effect. Whether socialism or corporatism prevails, the elite are the final victors, and the game continues onward.

Knowing this fact, I find that my reactions to the entire Obamacare debate are rather muddled. Really, I see the whole event as a kind of circus, a mirage, a distraction. Perhaps it is because I am first and foremost an economic analyst. When looking at Obamacare and socialization in general, I see no tangibility. I see no threat beyond what we as Americans already face. Let me explain.

Socialism Is Failure

A country that feels the need to socialize has, in my view, already failed culturally. It is an open admission by the public that it is unwilling or unable to take responsibility for its own prosperity. If a county cannot function in a healthy economic manner without its government creating an artificial and precarious balance using fiat stimulus and overt taxation, then the people of that country are not remotely independent and self-sufficient. That is to say, only a Nation filled with pathetic, overgrown children would actually need government to enforce mandatory charity: welfare, healthcare, etc. A truly healthy society supported by strong and self-sustainable individuals would not beg to be parented by government. If a country is so unbalanced as to stoop to socialism, then its ailments already extend far beyond anything government (even good government) could ever hope to cure.

Obamacare, its tentative application and those who blindly support its introduction in the United States, are an example of a weak people groveling for handouts they do not work for nor deserve. Socialism is defeat. It is a waving of the white flag by a society and the trading of that culture’s liberty for the illusion of fiscal security. It is the act of an adolescent and naïve populace groveling for an allowance from their “motherland.”

If one wants to consider what a socialized America would actually be like, why not examine the track record of the EU, a group of nations that have dabbled extensively in the principles of collective centralization and various levels of socialism, including the extremes of communism and fascism (and yes, folks, both are derived from a socialist/collectivist foundation, despite what pseudo-intellectuals and propagandized academics will try to tell you).

What success have they accomplished in the course of their utopian endeavors?

Well, more than half of the states of the European Union have already reached debt-to-GDP (gross domestic product) ratios well beyond the limit required to retain membership.

Several countries — including the U.K., France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece — are in the midst of severe debt crises. The euro is on the verge of disintegration. And it’s likely the EU charter will be re-examined and changed. The central bankers will blame European countries and their “insistence” on maintaining sovereign control over their finances for the failure of the EU. But, ultimately, sovereignty is not what strangles the EU. Instead, the ridiculous supranational status that is entirely misapplied has created a state of interdependency that has weakened every member nation to the point of disaster.

It should be painfully clear to anyone considering socialism as a viable option for America that this kind of system requires fiscal discipline and a vast amount of savings. Notice I say “savings” and not “money.” Money is a carnival ride — an illusion of wealth that can be printed from thin air. Savings is an actual concrete storage of real capital, an ongoing surplus of manufacturing and production capability resulting in the stockpiling of working credit and ample employment. Most of the countries of the EU do not have such savings and never did. In fact, most European countries have operated for decades on a loss. They have never been able to live with the direct and indirect investments of outside players. Because of this, EU countries are utterly unable to keep up with the grand concepts of socialism, and have buried themselves under the crushing debts generated by entitlement programs.

The United States is no different.

Forget Universal Healthcare, The U.S. Is Bust

There has been a pervasive delusion among pro-socialism movements in the United States that we are the “richest country in the world.” They claim it is “absurd” that the establishment system does not pay for our healthcare with such riches at its disposal. They consistently rant about Canadian healthcare and its record of universal treatment. The problem is they ignore the details.

Canada, a country of about 34 million people, has a national debt of about $1.1 trillion. The United States, a country of about 313 million people, has a national debt of about $15 trillion. The two countries are entirely different. To clamor for a Canadian-style healthcare program for a country with completely opposite economic parameters is idiocy, lunacy or both.

Officially, our economy has already broken the 100 percent debt-to-GDP threshold. Unofficially, but more accurately, the U.S. national debt exceeds $120 trillion.

This number accounts not only for public debt, but “intragovernmental” debt and “implicit” debt, meaning the debt obligations the government has committed to for the near future.

I would also like to quickly note that mainstream economists were predicting in 2011 that the United States would reach 101 percent of GDP by 2021. Just one year later, we have already crossed the 101 percent marker.

Add to this the projected costs of Obamacare ($17 trillion in estimated long-term unfunded obligations), and what you get is a broke country.

The only factor which has stayed the tide of a full-blown macro-implosion of the United States is the world reserve status of our currency. The dollar is all we have left. Period. But don’t count on that for much longer either. With multiple nations, including China and Japan (our largest foreign debt holders), quietly forming bilateral trade agreements that cut out the use of the greenback, it will not be long before its world reserve status disappears as well. When that happens, we are on our own. The private Federal Reserve can print all it wants; but if other countries no longer need dollars to facilitate cross border trade, then what we will get is hyperinflation, or stagflation. Obamacare only expedites this process by generating even more liabilities we cannot cover, thereby giving the central bank even more excuse to churn out dollars with wild abandon.

To put it plainly, all those people who believe America is the “richest country in the world” are living in la-la land. We are broke. Bust. In the red. In the hole. Insolvent. And we can’t all move back in with our parents like so many Obamacare proponents I have met.

Go Ahead, Try To Enforce Obamacare

We have no money. Therefore, the debate over universal socialized medicine is ultimately pointless. It is mathematically and economically impossible to implement. What the Supreme Court says on the subject of socialization certainly matters in terms of principle, and they have failed Americans spectacularly in every respect. But, in terms of finance, the Supreme Court’s shocking decision means nothing.

One of Ron Paul’s primary arguments against the ongoing wars in the Mideast is that whether one agrees with these conflicts is irrelevant. The United States does not have the means to fund them. Eventually, we will break the bank and the dollar to maintain our presence in the region, and thus, the wars will end one way or another. The same philosophy goes for Obamacare and every other socializing program presented in America.

They will say that taxation will cover the costs, but how do you raise taxes on a populace that is growing more destitute every year? How do you take money from people if they do not have it? This tactic doesn’t seem to be working very well for Europe. Also, keep in mind that as population and inflation grow exponentially, so will costs. The taxation will have to expand as fast or faster than the expenditures. This is why so many opponents of Obamacare voice concerns over population reduction programs and rejected care; they are an inevitable end result. When you institutionalize health and life under the auspices of bureaucracy, you must also invariably institutionalize death. Population and life suddenly become a numbers issue to the state, rather than a moral issue.

They will say that the penalties to those who refuse to participate will cover the costs of the rest. Again, how to you take money from people who do not have it? What if millions of people simply refuse to participate and refuse to pay penalties?

They will say “tax the corporations,” and we could. But, as the derivatives crisis has proven, most major corporations in the United States are on the government take just to survive. We cannot have corporate bailouts and increased corporate taxation at the same time. The bailouts would have to end, the companies would collapse and we would be right back where we started. Just like our government, most corporations also operate on false wealth. They will not be paying for Obamacare anytime soon.

They will say that it is all for the greater good, but since when has the establishment been qualified to define what the “greater good” is? Is Obamacare really a matter of conscience? Or is it a farce flaunted about as if it is a matter of conscience?

They will say that people must be forced to do what is right for the group. I say such hubris has always led to catastrophe. Usually, the select beneficiaries of tyrannical cultures call for the might of the central government to be wrought upon the rest of the citizenry — not to do right by conscience, but to satiate their desire for control. Men love government as long as it is imposing their particular worldview, and as long as the tables never turn.

They will say that current medical practices and costs are terrible and something must be done. I agree. However, Obamacare is not the answer.

Principles and existentialist debates aside, the primary question remains: Where is a realistic plan to pay for this monstrosity of a program? I have yet to see a single grounded solution to the quandary. How does one pay for something he will never be able to afford? If there are no means, there will be no Obamacare.

Human nature screws up socialism every time. back in the fiftys California decided to be kind to its poor citizens and raised the amount of welfare payment to a very high level. the response was predictable. people from all over the country flocked to California to enjoy the great benifits without working for them. the California legislature said we tried to be kind and they took advantage of us. they even went as far as to pay for a stuby to find out what happened DUH.

  • Howard Roark

Fredrick Bastiat described socialism to a tee. He said “Socialism is the great fiction under which each citizen tries to live at the expense of all the others”

  • Jon

Socialism never works. Anyone with enough brains and education to read more than the TV Guide knows this. But that doesn’t keep tyrants from pushing it in country after country. That cycle has been repeated for over 3000 years. And our descendants, if any, will be able to read about America’s failure.

  • http://www.manvscapitalism.com Wayne

Sadly, our society did not agree or even come close to agreeing on Socialism. Our government decided that for us. Now it’s time for society to take back control and let the freedom ring.

    • Nadzieja Batki

The American “society” did agree to Socialism. You have not overtly seen the paths it took but all the “do good” and “feeling sorry for the whomevers” organizations that ever existed or exist one step at a time got us to this day. Charities attempted to get rid of poverty and vice but could not make headway. The bright boys and ladies and the super duper Liberal religionists then used the government entities to abolish poverty and sin. They failed and are failing now.
It does not matter to Liberals if all Liberties are abolished as long as they feel that they made society equal.

      • Sanders

Yep, Communism at it’s best. The very thing that thousands of our Military personnel have died fighting to prevent the spread of this disease.

Obamcare was set up to provide free healthcare for the 38,000,000 illegal aliens and their families. …Who is going to pay for it? the strinking Middle Class? The young people?…Already half of the country is some kind of welfare and the other half overburdened paying for the unemployed or underemployed half….The illegal aliens are stealing nearly 100% of all new low-end jobs, preventing our people from landing jobs (most recent college graduates can’t even find work). ..The big question- who is going to pay for the illegal aliens’ free health care?

    • cawmun cents

Dont worry too much, those illegals will be one of the two wolves voting for who is for dinner.
If you feel like you are being seen as a mutton chop, you are probably correct.
      Cheers!

Illegals cannot be a part of the ACA. Period.

Try actually reading the ACA, instead of repeating the drivel that you are told.

      • Jim

You just made the point and don’t even understand how, so let me explain…

Oblunder also wants amnesty for people who have illegally entered this country and stayed. Once they are granted citizenship, they will get free healthcare. In this way, he will “buy” their votes.

        Don’t you see that coming???

      • needfulthings

And WHY NOT JIM, Your Myth maker “ronnie start wars ray-gun” gave AMNESTY to over THREE MILLION which lead to ELEVEN MILLION MORE showing up!
Just a little HONESTY would be in-line here.

  • http://www.chandostransportsolutions.com GraemeB

It’s interesting that the US has the highest healthcare costs in the industrialised world yet have over 50 million with no coverage. The US costs roughly $7,850 per person compared to the terrible socialists to the North who cost $3,837 per person. And that’s with all people covered. Ask a Canadian how much a doctor’s visit costs or have an MRI or bloodwork done, and they will look at you askance, because these costs are all covered under the same systems. Ask them what their premiums cost, they do not have any. They are covered by a general sales tax, from coast to coast. If you are told otherwise, you are being lied to.
When Brandon Smith says Canada has a debt of 1.1 trillion, that includes all public debt, federal and provincial. He is correct to state that the US total is close to 120 trillion for all public debt with cities and states verging on bankruptcy.
Socialism hasn’t brought EU to it’s knees. It has been unbridaled and unregulated banking system which has brought the US close to bankruptcy. The problem hasn’t been addressed and we are still seeing the JP Morgans and Barclays of this system continuing to jeopardize the whole world economy.

    • http://peresonallibertydigest.. gottaplenty

Graemeb Its obvious you never lived in Canada and never tried to maintain a buisness in same.. It takes a mouth with an idiot running it to spout off crap you know nothing about.

      • http://www.chandostransportsolutions.com GraemeB

Gottaplenty: The figures I gave are from published data. Healthcare costs in Germany are even lower, in the $2,825 per person region. The facts that I’ve given regarding charges and premiums are totally correct. The old bugaboo about wait times are false. If you need a knee replacement you will have to wait 6 to 18 months. If you have a heart attack, you’re in the hospital without any delay. And there are no preconditions either.

You need to get the real facts, not the lies that the politicians are telling you. The system in the US is the most expensive in the Western world. The system in Canada will not bankrupt you because some lackey in an insurance office thinks you don’t deserve coverage. And to think that 52 million Americans cannot get insurance in the richest country in the world, is a disgrace. Look at Mitch Connell on Fox and Boehmer on ABC and they could not give an answer to what they would do instead of Obamacare. Look at Backman refusing to give a straight answer on CNN. They have no plan and no intention of fixing the system.

      • Jim

All three that you have mentioned have proposed some simple, cost effective alternatives:
        1. Make Health Insurance competitive across state lines
        2. Reduce/eliminate frivolous malpractice litigation (tort reform)

…and more in s short document called H.R. 1286, the Healthcare Fiscal Accountability Act of 2011. Not a 2,700 page document by Oblunder that “we have to pass so we can find out what’s inside.” (quote from an idiot)

If you go to any of their websites you will find you will find their proposed solutions and alternatives to Oblundercare, and ones that do not impose mandates, penalties, or increase taxes. All while NOT defunding $500M from Medicare, which Oblundercare does.

      • http://www.chandostransportsolutions.com GraemeB

Gottaplenty: I forgot to mention that I curently own two businesses in Canada, have run healthcare facilities there, so I do happen to know something whereof I speak. Methinks that you don’t know what you are talking about and have never lived in Canada

      • http://none Claire

        GraemeB–I appreciate your comments.

      • Sanders

        GraemeB,

If what you are saying is true about your intimate knowledge of Canadas health system, then perhaps you can enlighten us all as to the facts surrounding all the myths(or not myths) of how long of a waiting list one is put on waiting for much needed medical attention including surgery, MRI’s and other diagnostic procedures.

    • Brandon Smith

Sorry, but business in the EU is HIGHLY regulated. The problem is, certain businesses get a free pass, like particular global banks. Why? Because socialist European governments gave them that pass. Also, where do you think a large portion of the EU’s debts come from? Government’s have to SPEND in order to create that debt, and they have to spend outrageous sums in order to reach credit default territory. The banks are nefarious indeed, but vast entitlement programs and welfare are the primary culprit behind the national debt downgrades in the EU. Where do you think most of their expenses come from? Socialism is very much to blame.

  • sesame

It may be an economic impossibility, but it is always a potential political possibility if enough people want to go that way. Strangely enough, even Von Mises thought that government provided heath care was desirable. Maybe he had too many lunches with Maynard Keynes in their mutual admiration society.. One advantage of putting everyone under Medicare as opposed to Obamacare, is that it would take much of the cost off the shoulders of business and allow it to compete better against foreign corporations that don’t have a direct medical insurance cost burden,

    • cawmun cents

Yeah, but what happens when you run out of OP’s money?

  • Glenn

This is a superb article. The best written, plain english, brass knuckles description in brief, of where we are headed if we don’t slow this monstrosity down. Most of this explains why the liberals like public education. Liberal agendas, the ignorance of the constitution, allows the liberals to breed a new type of useful idiot that can pull a lever for a guy who will give then free things. They were never educated as to where their freebies are coming from. The country is split down the center which means this new liberal policy is gaining strength, at least up until 2008. The silver lining is the creation of the tea party, the pocket constitutions that are being purchased, and the re-education of America’s law that prohibits the government, not the people. This is going to be one wild ride and a hell of a battle to save our country.

    • http://peresonallibertydigest.. gottaplenty

Well stated Glenn . I superbly believe the Tea party will have the most impact with a lost art of something called the TRUTH.

      • Sanders

And FISCAL SANITY! Something most of our elected officials, Demorat and Republicrap(Rinos), know little or nothing about or at least refuse to practice it.

  • http://www.cindynel.co.za peter

Those who think that they are in for a free ride are in for a huge shock. Sarah Palin is right here. One gets very little for a dime these days and nothing for free. The government has proved beyond doubt that it is hopelessly inefficient at managing it’s debt so how it plans to handle a national medical scheme is beyond the imagination of even the most ardent supporter, surely! When are folks going to underswtand that somewhere, somehow services need to be paid for and when more money is going out than is coming in, there just might be a problem, unless of course one’s name is Bernanke.

  • nc

Mr. Smith.you ask where is the realistic plan to pay for Affordable Health Care> Two questions! What plan has the other side provided to pay for the status quo of rising insurance and health care costs presently being absorbed by the government? Surely, you don’t deny that those costs are not a major concern to HUGE NUMBERS of American citizens. Is your answer to let private business answer to that concern? They are ones who got us to this place!! China didn’t raise the rates on insurance or hospital costs!! It was done right here in the good old USA by good old US companies!
Second question: If AHC is socialism how many people does the plan provide for to become government workers on the government payroll?? Does you favorite party have a plan for this country that does not have “government workers” providing “government “socialist” services”?

    • Brandon Smith

      @NC

What you are doing is using an Alinsky diversionary tactic. You can’t defend Obamacare, especially in terms of its economic detriments, so instead, you attempt to place the entirety of the healthcare problem into the hands of Obamacare critics to distract from the bottom line.

The scope of this article is to point out why Obamacare will not work, not solve all the world’s problems in a few pages. I think I have done that efficiently. If you want economic solutions, you are welcome to visit my website, Alt-Market.com. I write about working fiscal solutions all the time. However, the fact remains, Obamacare is doomed to failure. It is a mathematical certainty. Just because the current system has problems does not mean Obamacare is the answer. Why trade a bad system for a worse system? What’s the rush? And once again, how do we pay for Obamacare? No socialist I’ve met has been able to give a plausible answer to that question.

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

“The scope of this article is to point out why Obamacare will not work, not solve all the world’s problems in a few pages.”

I believe that the ACA will work. Nobody said that it would be free, or that it would be easy. But the problems with the medical industry in this country have out of control for many decades. None of this is new.

And if the medical industry had wanted to become more comprehensive they would have done it years ago. Voluntarily. The haven’t.

Medicare premiums are mandatory, once you are on Social Security. We pay premiums every single month. Those who are below the poverty level can have their premiums paid by their State.

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

“No socialist I’ve met has been able to give a plausible answer to that question.”

This sentence proves, for one thing, that you have no idea of what a socialist is, and have never met one.

For another it proves that you have not bothered to read the ACA.

        http://www.healthcare.gov/law/full/

Give it a read. You might learn something.

    Real Facts About Mitt Romney=em

Just Some Real Facts About Mitt Romney That We Will Not Hear About From The Lame Stream Media About The Real Mitt Romney! All you will hear from the Lame Stream Media about Romney will be negative or repulsive (from Mitt’s high school days approx. 50 years ago!) that in no way proves anything about what this man is made of today. The facts below are much more informative than what CNN or MSNBC can dig up about Romney.

    Mitt Romney:

After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar, but never worked as an attorney.

As a venture-capitalist, Romney’s first major business deal involved investing in a start-up office supply company with one store in Massachusetts that sold office supplies. That company, called Staples, now has over 2,000 stores and employs over 90,000 people.

Romney or his company Bain Capital (using what became known as the “Bain Way”) would go on to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino’s, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply, and many others.

Got your calculators handy? Let’s recap.

Volunteer campaign worker for his dad’s gubernatorial campaign 1 year.

Unpaid intern in Governor’s office 8 years.

Mormon missionary in Paris 2 years.

Unpaid bishop and state president for his church 10 years.

No salary as president of the Olympics 3 years.

No salary as MA governor 4 years.

That’s a grand total of 28 years of unpaid service to his country, his community and his church.

And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income….Obama gave 1%

Joe Biden gave $300 or .0013%

This is real character vs….well you know what!

Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected. At least I know what religion he is, and that he won’t desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or squander my money on vacations. I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the “Spending President” has gotten us into. We didn’t know that when Obama said he’d give us change, he meant nickels and dimes, and he would get the big bucks. We won’t like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney’s background can do it.

But, on the minus side, He never was a “Community Organizer”, never took drugs or smoked pot. Never got drunk. Did not associate with communists or terrorists. Nor did he attend a church whose pastor called for God to damn the U.S.

    • Sanders

Excellent post James. Unfortunately, most, if not all of the Liberals on this site and throughout the US will refuse to look at these facts much less consider them to be indicative of a person with good morals and great leadership abilities. No, they will just continue to listen to the MSM spin machine and blindly vote for the Imposter-in-Chief.

I find it worthy to note too that Obummer is not the only jerk to spend this country into oblivian as several of his predecessor were almost as bad. BUT, Obummer is definitely the worst of the bunch, the man belongs in prison.

      • Jim

I completely agree. Oblunder should be in prison, not The White House.

  • MidnightDStroyer

Socialism NEVER works. This has been proven time & again, worldwide, all through the history of humanity that socialist-style governments will ALWAYS collapse under their own weight.

I think it was Einstein who is attributed to describe fanaticism is a particular kind of mental disorder in which someone will do the same thing, the same way, over & over again but somehow expect to achieve different results. The problem with the vast majority of people in this world who aren’t so afflicted, is that we must learn to recognize socialist fanatics & keep them from repeating the same mistakes & failures that history has shown us to be true.

    • MAP

Well said, Midnight. I would only add that those in government are only interested in seizing more and more dictatorial power. Those that believe their fantastic lies are merely useful idiots.

      • MAP

And here is a useful idot, NC, preaching for his secular god, the state. How many fools do you plan to ensnare here today NC? Don’t you believe you would have better success elsewhere, like, for instance, the state mental hospital? Why, according to NC, we should be kissing the feet of those that enslave us. Unbelievable!

    • nc

Midnight, doing the same thing over and over, like elections, is what made us the number one nation in the world!I What ever we were doing took us to number one and continuing to do it HAS KEPT US THERE! The Constitution , unfortunately, does not cure paranoia in a certain % of our population who constantly cry “the sky is falling”!
IS THE USA YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO LIVE? DO WE NOT DO THE SAME THING EVERY TWO TO FOUR YEARS? ELECT OUR LEADERS? DO WE NOT DO THE SAME THING EVERYDAY BY ADHEREING TO OUR CONSTITUTION EVEN WHEN WE DON’T LIKE SOME OF THE RESULTS! THE STRENGTH OF THE CONSTITUTION IS THAT WE FOLOW IT EVERYDAY! OVER AND OVER!!

      • Sanders

That’s the source of our problems, NC, whether you refuse to admit it or have your Liberal/Socialist blinders on. Our constitution is being trampled on every day by our beloved “elected” officials. Which is why the US is in a major decline and will continue it’s descent so long as govt stays on it’s current path of Socialism.

      • Don_in_DC

You staunch party supporters crack me up. I can imagine someone pissing all over the Constitution and you are wondering what deodorant they were wearing.

    • Deerinwater

      “Socialism NEVER works.”

I don’t believe anything does forever, if that is what you mean.

      • http://www.sweetsalesgirl.com/Kuurus/ Charles Johnson

You are wrong. The present Chinese culture dates back to the 1960s not the times of Chin. The communist dictator known as Mao killed millions of people to CHANGE the culture.

Apparently corporatism is here to stay and working quite well. I won’t attack their bankster cronies(alter egos) because that might affect the crumbs I get from the stocks my 401 invested in. And, sure I’ll bitch about the freeloaders who can’t find here the jobs that have been outsourced to ensure even higher profits (and a few more crumbs).
I know am right in all of my opinions and that the rest of you useful idiot morons have it all inside out, because I get multiple affirmations daily from main stream media, owned and controlled by the purveyors of truth .

France does rather well with its single payer system (medicare for all) and has the best health in the world, according to World Health Orgamzation study. They pay 2-3 times LESS/per person) than we do in USA, and our health is 34th, behind Cuba, which pays 100 times less/per person. Our systam of insurance companies/hospitals/pharma industrial complex is syhoning money from care into their parasitic pockets. The insurance systme had become so complicated that you need 2 lawyers to figure out what is covered and what is not.

We should run insurance/hospital/pharma compex out of business and go to ole fashioned medicine where you pay doctor directly rather then making him fill all those forms for insurance companies. I have no insurance and plan to stay that way, since I take good care of my health by healthy life style and nutrition, while for dental care I go to India, where a married couple of denists are the best I ever experienced. The man has a M.Sc in Orthodentistry from Ohio State University and his wife is an oral surgeon who teaches in Dental School in Delhi. The crown costs $60-80, so if you have just one crown, it pays for you trip to India.

America is a great country for strong and healthy and those who are independently rich but we need to address the obfuscation of facts by our politicians who are bought by various money interests to continue their obscene profits at the expense of taxpayers. Additionally our social safety net is abused by able bodied men and women to come from dysfunctional families and perpeturate the dysfunctional family by having children to get more dole. Working Americans are sqeezed between unworking rich and non-working poor who are all gaming the system.

Here is an article showing that it was the government itself that created the healthcare problem to begin with. We are now to believe that the source of the problem is the solution.

Yea GEA, and look at where all their Socialistic trash has gotten their country. They are in just as bad a shape as Greece. When are all you Socialist/Liberals/Rinos going to wake up and smell the coffee? This country is too socialized as it is and look at where it is getting us, right down the tubes with the rest of the Socialized nations.

    • David

France is highly indebted and on the verge of economic collapse just like the rest of the EU. Where are you getting your information?

  • Mutantone

just look at who they gave exemptions to. That alone should show how the program will never function as they say it will. Now that it is a tax as the reports states, how do you tax people that are not working? how do you tax far fewer people with the exemptions in place, and still have a functioning system, simple you do not either way it is doomed to fail or destroy the Nation even more which I say was the set goal in the first place. Just look at where they are spending our money to assist the Arab Spring and thus the Muslim Brotherhood. We all know their stated goal for Us infidels and with Obamas’ administration’s assisting them in both here and abroad the loss attributed to National Health care is only one more step into their plans

    • Steve E

I have already exempted myself from Obamacare. I have declared my Independence.

    • Flashy

Bought into the hype and BS about ‘tax” eh? The SCOTUS DID NOT state it was a “tax”, it stated that the power to impose a penalty for freeloaders came under the taxing authority of Congress. Now…if you have health insurance, you bear no additional burden. if you freeload, then you pay a penalty for freeloading off the rest of us.

You have a problem with having freeloaders pay up?

      • Mutantone

just who are the free-loaders? that is the question how do you make someone that is unemployed, disabled pay for something that they can not afford? who pays for all the people that are unemployed? disabled? there are not enough working people to pay for it and the exemptions cut that number even more.

      • Deanna

Let me clear something up. Not everyone who does not have health insurance is a freeloader. I’m self-employed and don’t have health insurance because I choose not to throw my money away on a broken system. If I need medical care, I pay for it out of my own pocket. (I think that’s called being “self-insured.”) Even if I get in an accident and have large hospital bills, hospitals are always willing to work with patients and set up a payment plan. I’m a responsible adult who meets my obligations – not a freeloader. Others who don’t have insurance are simply too poor to afford it. Does that make them freeloaders? And how will Obamacare help them? They’ll be required to buy insurance that they currently can’t afford. I don’t think a tax credit is going to make that much difference in their ability to do that. It’s going to put an unfair burden on poor people – the ones too “rich” to qualify for Medicaid, that is.

      • http://teamlaw.net/TrusteeMessage.htm Jazzabelle

I don’t have insurance. I pay for all of my medical care in cash. Does that make me a freeloader?

      • Sanders

        Flashy,

There are a lot of poor people in this country that cannot afford health insurance, or health care for that matter, that still will not be able to afford it with the “tax credit” who will simply roll that tax credit right back into the system to help pay their fine(tax). This new FU law will only add to their problem of making ends meet at the end of the year when they must pay for their inability to insure themselves. It doesn’t make them freeloaders, you POS. Granted there are those who can afford it but opt not to and that is their decision, not yours or mine. If you don’t like living in the “Free World”, why don’t you move to Russia, they would be glad to have your Communistic mind in their midst.

      • Flashy

Sanders (and the rest)…if unemployed or below the income levels, there is a phase out of the penalty. Otherwise, you are gambling you do not have a debilitating disease or accident…and gambling with our money in doing so.

Think back to the debates when Ron Paul said ‘let the guy die”. Uh huh …ain’t gonna happen in this day and age. we’d pick up that tab. Myself? I would have preferred the mandate had gone down and the SCOTUS killed it. THAT would have brought the Public OPTION back to the forefront..where we should have been in the first place.

      • Buster the Anatolian

“it stated that the power to impose a penalty for freeloaders came under the taxing authority of Congress.”

If it falls under the taxing authority of congress then it is a TAX. Therefore SCOTUS said it was a tax maybe not directly but even so they did say it.

      • phideaux

“There are a lot of poor people in this country that cannot afford health insurance, or health care for that matter,”

Flashy could care less about the poor except as a talking point when advocating for his fascist utopia.

      • GregS

        Flashy says:

“The SCOTUS DID NOT state it was a ‘tax’…”

For your information, Flashy, Justice Roberts went on to say that it CANNOT be implemented unless it’s considered a tax.

Therefore, if it’s not a tax, it’s UNCONSTITUTIONAL! The Supreme Court has ruled!

Furthermore, by the time it is fully implemented, virtually EVERYONE’S taxes will rise dramatically, because of all the other imbeded taxes (at least 20 of them), and also because of the tens of thousands of pages of mandates and new programs (outsourced to UNELECTED HHS bureaucrats to “create”)that will come out of it.

So Flashy, it’s ObamaTAXCare, no matter how you look at it.

    • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

  • mike

Mr smith from the tone of your post I feel you suffer from the dreaded my way or the highway syndrome I don’t buy 98.5% of your opinion the remaining 1.5% is very weak

    • Steve E

Perhaps Mike, you should learn some history. Start with the Roman Empire.

      • Flashy

Steve..the Roman Empire is a very bad example. I trust you realize such displays ignorance if that is your example to use. I would suggest following the history of France during the reigns of Louis Xlll and XlV.

i doubt you would for two reasons. One is you most likely have little to no knowledge of your European Economic and Social history (probably watch World at War reruns on the Military Channel for your “historical” knowledge.) The second is studying the economic and social issues of France during those reigns would show the policies of the Right lead to inner rot of society while policies of more equality of social order and caste led to periods of strength and stability,. We know who won that war of classes…and the result 70 years after the death of Louis XlV…

      • Vicki

He probably meant the Roman Republic. This video describes what happened to it and how it fell into tyranny. The part covering the Roman Republic starts at about 8:30
The section describing the cause of the fall starts at 9:00

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4r0VUybeXY

The whole clip is about 10 min long and well worth watching.

      • Flashy

Vicki…same thing. I watched the video. Now…go read your history. I would suggest you begin with the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire by Gibbon, then follow up by the several writings of HG Wells on the subject (his two volume treatise on World History is enlightening). Then treat yourself to an education with Voltaire (Candide) \and continue with a study especially on several writings concerning France during and after the reign of the Sun King.

Comparing the Roman Empire or Republic with the current situation is as far fetched as green men on Mars.

      • Steve E

Flashy is a liberal who has no credibility or brain. Don’t even respond to me.

      • Vicki

        Flashy. writes:
        Vicki…same thing. ”

Words have meanings. Empire != Republic.

The roman EMPIRE is what Gibbon discussed. The video discusses the Roman REPUBLIC which predates the Empire and the work of Gibbon.

“The work covers the history of the Roman Empire, Europe and the Catholic Church from 98 to 1590″
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_History_of_the_Decline_and_Fall_of_the_Roman_Empire

As noted in the video the Roman REPUBLIC collapsed into a succession of Caesars around 50 to 40 BC under Julius Caesar. Roughly 150 years BEFORE Gibbon writes about.

Perhaps you should consider going back farther in time with your history lessons. HG Wells for instance. You did mention his writings.

      • Vicki

Flashy. To help you with your studies I dug up this from H.G.Wells.

“We may very conveniently divide the expansion of Rome into four stages. The first stage began after the sack of Rome by the Goths in 390 B.C. and went on until the end of the First Punic War (240 B.C.). We may call this stage the stage of the Assimilative Republic. It was perhaps the finest, most characteristic stage in Roman history. The age-long dissensions of patrician and plebeian were drawing to a close, the Etruscan threat had come to an end, no one was very rich yet nor very poor, and most men were public-spirited. It was a republic like the republic of the South African Boers before 1900 or like the northern states of the American Union between 1800 and 1850; a free-farmers republic. ”

        http://www.bartleby.com/86/33.html

Note the key words at the end of the quote. Pretty much exactly as described in the video. It is understandable that you missed the difference between Empire and Republic if you didn’t actually read thru the writings of Mr Wells. He did label the entire history of Rome as an empire.

      • Vicki

And for a more clear look at that part of history you might try

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Republic

Focusing on just Roman History 509 BC – 27 BC rather than the entire “short history” of the world as described by H.G. Wells.

We have a micro example of what this smells like right here in RI. Three years ago and $100M or so down the drain the state had to eat the loss of investment from the reformed landfill by which the state’s refuse largely gets dumped. It was a former toxic waste site in the 70s and I was a stringer on that news story with a famous RI news reporter back then. The news from that place never stops. The reformed landfill was reconstituted into a new corporate entity that managed to spend every last cent and do so well ahead of its schedule, and the state was left with telling the taxpayers ‘oops…they made a boo boo’. The landfill never closed, it’s still the only one of its kind in RI, and it makes money…but there is a stench so annoying it can be detected in nearby Massachusetts and CT on some days. A stench that reminds every Rhode Islander of the legacy of something which had been fouled up, gets fouled up in the pocketbook, and remains foul right to this very day. RIRRIP is our Obamacare in trash form. Wait ’til you find out how badly your healthcare will stink. And yes, folks…it will survive any financial disaster; go back to the USSR days to find out how long they suffered under their socialist mandates.

Beard, I find it distressing when I consider just how many laws have been repealed in the history of our country. Virtually all have remained once put in place. I also think that the Supreme Court’s ruling has created a precedent. Even if the evil system is repealed, it can come back in a different form at another time. The Obamanation has created the cancer cell that will eventually kill us.

      • David

The country will continue to be in trouble as long as politicians promise everything to get reelected. I’m afraid that it is already too late. you should begin your “chinese as a 2nd language” now. They already own half the country.

      • Robert Rashbrooke

The reason laws do not get rescinded is because they have to go through the SAME procedures that they went through to get passed in the first place, and Congresses do not feel it a worthwhile requirement.

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert.

Congress said, “Someone may steal from it at night.” So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.

Then Congress said, “How does the watchman do his job without instruction?” So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Congress said, “How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?” So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One was to do the studies and one was to write the reports.

Then Congress said, “How are these people going to get paid?” So they created two positions: a time keeper and a payroll officer then hired two people

Then Congress said, “Who will be accountable for all of these people?” So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.

Then Congress said, “We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $918,000 over budget, we must cut back.” So they laid-off the night watchman.

NOW slowly, let it sink in.

Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter. Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Carter administration?

    Anybody?

    Anything?

    No?

    Didn’t think so!

Bottom line is, we’ve spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency, the reason for which very few people who read this can remember!

    Ready?

It was very simple… and at the time, everybody thought it very appropriate. The Department of Energy was instituted on 8/04/1977, TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL. Hey, pretty efficient, huh???

AND NOW IT’S 2012 — 35 YEARS LATER — AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS “NECESSARY” DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE!

(THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, “WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?”)

34 years ago 30% of our oil consumption was foreign imports. Today 70% of our oil consumption is foreign imports.

Ah, yes — good old Federal bureaucracy.

NOW, WE HAVE TURNED OVER THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE, AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT?

    Hello!! Anybody Home?

    Signed….The Night Watchman

The reason all those institutions have been turned over to the government is because left alone they always rip off the american public. the banking industry and wall street proved that. LESS REGULATION AND GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THE BIGGEST TRANSFER OF WEALTH IN HISTORY ?

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Steve L., the problem is that most people view the government and corporations as being two separate entities. Well, in a sense they are but in a real sense the government is owned and operated by the banks who make it possible for modern businesses to function and many of which are owned by the same families that own the banks.

      • vicki

        Steve L. says:

    • Jim

Awesome, but sadly the truth. Thanks to Jimmy Carter, who until now was considered the worst president in US History…

      • Flashy

Carter the worst? Not even close. Not even the same lap as Reagan…who was the worst curse this nation has had. Pre Reagan, we had deficit spending of $68 bil (post Vietnam recession), under Reagan that skyrocketed and we had a national debt that shamed the industrial world at that time. Pre Reagan, two income families were an option, after Reagan? A necessity, Reagan began the War with vengence upon the Middle Class and gave the wealthy and Corporate America the keys to the vault, and cemented the welfare system for Corporate America and the wealthy elite.

I had thought that we would be blessed never to experience another disaster and traitor as Reagan…then came the Bush II/Cheney regime. So Reagan is now second worst…Bush II by a mile leading the pack of presidencies in incompetence and anti-Americanism.

Where our troubles today begin? One need look no further than 1981.

When the $h!t finally hits the fan and they realize their precious nanny state is incapable of supporting them anymore I suspect they will be the first to lament, wring their collective hands, and hopefully take their own pathetic “collective” lives. If any of them decide they do have the balls to finally stand up and take control of theirselves by resorting to violence, well then Sir I have an answer for that too. The difference between whinny, liberal, wanna be tough guys and conservatives is that we can do violence with conviction.

It’s you guys who would have done a first strike on the USSR. Wich would beg the question – Who is more evil, the commies or the first strikers who just destroyed the planet?

    • Jim

Why do liberals always revert to name calling and insults?

      • RichE

        Jim,
Maybe Rush or Don Imus can answer your question.

      • Jim

For what it’s worth, I don’t like either Ruch L. or Don Imus. But I suppose that they get their lessons and queues from the likes of Bill Mahr, Sean Penn, and Chris Matthews…

      • RichE

Wow! Rush and Don are puppets of Bill Mahr, Sean Penn, and Chris Matthews. I didn’t know that.
        Jim,
You suffer from, “Righteous” syndrome. Name calling isn’t limited to the Right or Left. Blame it on WWII, there was a lot of name-calling going on.

      • Jim

I forgot to add Michael Moore. The Idiot King.

If you compare the number of libs using vile language to the number of conservatives, then having only two – Rush and Imus, tips the scales toward libs being the most crude. But I guess that makes them puppets as you point out.

Now I am preparing for the name calling. I don’t like Obama, so I am a racist. I don’t like Obamacare, so I am not compassionate. I support the 2nd Amendment and own a gun, so I am a gun carrying extremist. I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, so I am a religious zealot.

You know what else I don’t like? People who can get off their a$$ and get a job or find a way to earn a living, then tell everyone else that we have to pay. Or the woman who goes out drinking and sleeping around (on her own volition), has 5 kids, and then asks “who’s going to feed my babies and get them medicine?” So I am insensitive too I guess.

I believe that we are in control of our own destiny and that people should take responsibility for themselves and their families. I don’t like the government that breeds a society completely dependent on entitlements and handouts. Maybe you do. I don’t.

      • RichE

        Jim,

I don’t like it either, but what’re you going to do, let the babies die, put her in jail, what about him? Blaming it on the Government is wrong. We didn’t want to get our hand dirty so we passed it along to the Government. Governments don’t just start doing something. Laws have to be passed, money has to be allocated and then the government does something.

Why does homosexual marriage bother you? It’s just two people in a committed relationship. How does it take away from?

      • Sally Jo

America needs jobs to go back to work. People do not have enough to do and start squabbling. This job market MUST open back up for business. Bring them back and watch America start working again. Can’t work with no jobs, so yes, if government gives so much money to other countries and leaves us behind, well, yes then people will need to be taken care of. It’s not the un=employed fault. We need a leader to trun this country back around to the United States. Plus, corporations want the world in regards to the hiring practices too. They also need to lower their HIGH expectations too.

Those people in that picture waving their signs supporting obamacare are in for a rude awakening. Lastweek on FoxNews, Sarah Palin said these people think they are going to get a free ride with obamacare, but they are going to find out it is not going to work like that.

Useless eaters play their part, sure, but being mad at them is akin to being mad at the stupid teenage girl who gets brutally anal raped. Its maybe 5% her fault for walking down the dark alley showing lots of skin, but where is the outrage at the vile rapist? Some people are duped into believing the mainstream media. Its easy to operate off of an assumption that people are telling you the truth rather than lying. Think about it, society wouldn’t function at all if you assummed everyone was lying to you. How the heck would you get anything done? The sad truth is though that the mainstream media is pretty much nothing but lies….

For that matter, if you are mad at the useless eaters you should also be mad at the cowardly patriots. Such patriots know what is going on but choose to fight tyranny by going sign waving every 6 months instead of engaging in hard core civil disobedience and risking imprisonment or death. Such patriots will beg for someone else to grab the wheel when in rough seas. Where is your rage at the ball-less patriots out there?

The 5% at fault that former walmart person speaks of doesn’t count in this matter, as they are completely at fault for voting the guy in in the first place. They are the Ominions, as I like to refer to them as. And even though many have fallen away from their father, the ones standing by him now after all he has done to this country are dangerously loyal.

    • Flashy

Interesting you cite FOX McNews and Palin. First, study after study show the folks relying on McNews are the most uninformed and less knowledgable. Second, Palin is an overhyped bimbo who is a quitter and has so much make up caked on she couldn’t get a date if she was the only female at a stag convention. That and her IQ is remarkable…for not having one.

Be that as it may, the author does have it correct…capitalism is not the problem nor the danger facing this nation today. That would be corporatism. Socialism we aren’t even close to, and likely never will attain. It also has the same dangers and problems which we now suffer from with the corporatism system pushed upon us by the Far Right and their robotic mindless supporters.

We are busted…busted by the policies and war on the Middle Class initiated by Reagan and carried forth since his evil hand descended upon us. Those “successful’ policies he began, and which have been carried out since, were subsidized and benefited one class, and one system. The wealthy elite and Big Corporations. we began to fight back and take back this nation under Clinton…then Bush II/Cheney and the robotic minions of the Far right, TP and American Taliban knifed us in the back.

Think otherwise? State the counter…if there is any. national debt skyrocketed, government serviced the corporate and the elite, two earner families became a must not an option. Our education system became federalized and control taken from the community, police became not ones who protect but instead ones who control. Budget cuts, when they were announced affected only the poor and Middle Class (in reality it was a shuffle to create more subsidies and increase the welfare to the rich).

Nowm the war is being carried back at those entrenched interests that busted this nation, placed its security ion a grave position, and impoverished the Middle Class. And they don’t like the rebellion. So they send out the messages, have 27 billionaires finance the opposition in the elections, and program the mindless that what is good for them, is bad. They label it evil, call it names which the mindless don’t understand, and demonize any and all who dare rise up and fight for America.

Hate? look to the Far Right, the TPers, the American Taliban. They require the TP Trilogy of hate, fear and ignorance to justify their existence.

Workable rational solutions to problems, reality based analysis? those come from the Moderates and Progressives on this site. Far fetched, wild wacky and unrealistic rantings of nothingness..which, if carried out, would lead to placing this nation in danger if not risk it’s very existence? just turn to a TPer, a Far Right winger, or a member of the American Taliban .. oft times all can be found in one person on this site.

      • Jim

Comparing the Tea Party Patriots with the Taliban??? Di you learn that vitriol in your “How to sound like a complete idiot 101?” class in junior high school? Come on. REALLY??? People who want to limit the size of government, keep a lid on taxation, protect and abide by the constitution, and maintain freedom are akin to terrorists???

You MUST be either kidding or completely ignorant of the mess this president is making of our country. He ought to change his name to Oblunder.

      • Thomas Gunn

        You are deeply mistaken

The United States has been SOCIALIST, since our monetary system was perverted by the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 (that satisfying one of the 10 planks of Marx’s Communist Manifesto). The US in fact satisfies all of the rest of the 10 planks in various forms. The US IS ALREADY, and has been Socialist for some time. The ills that this country is experiencing; are NOT a consequence of free market dynamics (since we don’t operate in a free market); but are a direct consequence of the distortions caused by a CONTROLLED economy; and a fiat monetary system that uses artificially engineered inflation (in order to pervert the natural forces of supply and demand); and unfair taxation on individual assets and labor (in order to impoverish the productive working class and eradicate real property rights). Individual property rights in this country have essentially been wiped out. The false notion that US is capitalist, or has been capitalist at any time during the past 100 years; is simply nonsense. America has been systematically and incrementally Socialized; starting with Wilson, “amped up” by FDR, and right on through to the present charlatan occupying the White House and imposing the agenda of his Collectivist Handlers on us AGAINST OUR WILL. They have clandestinely forced Socialism upon us even before the current generations were born, and then spent our entire lives indoctrinating us into believing that it is Free Market Capitalism that is practiced here. It is NOT. For the past century; we have been subject to “false-flag” capitalism; by the left; as a means to discredit and forever destroy what free-market economics is truly about. The America that our founders created ended in a coup, in 1913; when Woodrow Wilson signed our National Sovereignty away to a small group of obscenely rich international bankers; whose descendents today control the Fed, and all of the major banks that occupy its board of governors. Our government, is nothing but a puppet government, there to keep the citizenry subdued and entertained; while continuing to do the bidding of their handlers at the European Bank of International Settlements. Everything we see today as “an issue” is just noise. Even Obamacare is little more than a distraction; from the reality that we are living under a Tyranny, and have been for decades.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Thomas Gunn, I know I couldn’t have written it any better than you did. I’d like to add this: most people don’t see 1913 as being an important date but several things happened then that people don’t understand that laid the groundwork to dump the constitution as our leading body of law. The first was the reincorporation of Washington DC by the same bankers who bought out the assets of our government, who was broke and pushed into the corner. The bankers now had a more direct control of the government through this action. The second was the income tax amendment and the third and most deadly blow to our system was the passing of the seventeenth amendment which removed the appointment of senators from the states and put those appointments directly into the hands of the an ignorant population. The States lost any say in Washington politics because of this. Now it was a matter of just “buying” the people”. I believe that the bankers believed it would be easier to control an ignorant mass of people who were receiving all kind of benefits from their friendly government than it would be to control men of power from the states. Just human nature that you don’t bite the hand that feeds you. At least most people won’t.

      • chester

Thomas Gunn, you SAY we live in a controlled economy. If so, what in the world makes you think it is the GOVERNMENT? From what I can see, a lot of corporations are making a lot more money off all our problems than the government is. Actually, who do you think is setting on all these profits that all these companies have been pulling in? It sure isn’t uncle, let them scream what they will. Why spend money to make money when money comes crawling to you begging to be taken?

      • Buster the Anatolian

“Thomas Gunn, you SAY we live in a controlled economy. If so, what in the world makes you think it is the GOVERNMENT? From what I can see, a lot of corporations are making a lot more money off all our problems than the government is.”

it is the government and the mega-corporations working together. Neither can do it on its own but when they conspire together almost anything is possible. Mega-corp works with government to stifle competition from innovative more efficient smaller companies.

      • Jim

Here we go… the “EVIL” Corporations that make profits for… shareholders (= those of use with money in a 401k plan and similar). The difference is that when the evil corporations earn a profit, then I get money in my 401k; when the government takes money, I lose money (taxes).

Jim..I stated the American Taliban…i.e. the fundamentalist christian fanatics who insist we have to live as they dictate according to their religious sects callings. And yes, oft times a TPer is a member of the American Taliban, and oft times is a far Right Wing fanatic. Just look what some of the state laws recently passed and rammed through over popular protest and you will see the evidence.

As for corporate control…absolutely it is growing and a danger to our freedoms. Without doubt. And anyone who thinks Big Corporate America and the elite wealthy are friendly to the Middle Class…is a complete and utter fool…

And Reagan? At least he was born in this country, and his mother wasn’t a pornstar wannabe.
Is it true that Frank Mashall Davis’s son has a lifetime membership in Chicago’s “Man Country”?

What’s there to be proud of? Leaders are suppose to be role models, but his wife and children are just props to maintain the illusion of normalcy. Clinton made a mockery of the office of the Presidency with pizza deliveries, cigars used for penetration, stained blue dresses and the joke heard round the world about the oral office. Reagan was known as “The Great Communicator” and faced down the Russians.

Ronald Reagan knew Obama, and he knew you too Flashy. He spoke about you and warned us about you often. While I draw breath no one will undermine his legacy of contributions to the cause of freedom and free will.

Well stated Flashy. Eileen, maybe if you made decisions with your brain rather than your nose you might learn some truth. I continue to hear those on the right give their two cents (and it’s worth two cents) about Obama care and how we are going to become a socialistic society, but I never hear anything about the effects both wars have had on our economy. I never hear about the surplus of money given to tax payers at $300.00 a pop, by the last president. I never hear about the unfair amount of contracted jobs given to Haliburton (Dick Chaney has ties to this corporation) and few other contractors, by the last administration. I hate to say it, but there are a lot of baby boomers coming into retirement who are entitled to their benefits. We have paid into Social Security ( mandated by our government) all of our working lives and if you want to call that socialistic, so be it Who is to blame for dipping into the cookie jar and using the surplus earmarked for retiring seniors and those who are disabled? The right wing need to pull their collective heads out of their butts and see to it that it is time for everyone to pay their fair share of tax’s, not just the middle class

      • phideaux

” I continue to hear those on the right give their two cents (and it’s worth two cents) about Obama care and how we are going to become a socialistic society, but I never hear anything about the effects both wars have had on our economy. Since you “have never heard anything about the effects both wars have had on our economy” It is logical to conclude either you are deaf and blind or this is your first visit to this site. Many posters (and most are not the liberal loonies like Flashy and yourself) have commented on the negative effects of the wars.

        Where is my $300.00?

Phideaux: You are correct about one thing, this is the first time I have visited this site. However, you are wrong about the rest. I don’t consider myself a liberal loonie nor do the people who actually know me believe this to be factual. I am a man who was wounded in Vietnam and lost a kidney and spleen serving this country. I lost my brother outside of Quang tri Providence while serving in the same war. I think I’m entitled to my opinion without someone (who would only call me names without facing me) or do you think only you should have the right of free speech? I no longer can work because my injuries have taken their toll. Should I sit hear and read how I am a beggar who is a parasite on our government without taking offence? I worked all of my life paying in to Social Security and I was fully vested in my pension until the Corporation i worked 28 years for filed bankruptcy and now I will receive less than 25% of what is owed to me. So lets see, I have had my pension taken away and I hear that I’m a worthless piece of s–t because I need the money I’m entitled to from our government..You do what i’ve done and you have my blessing to call me any name you wish

Phideaux: I’m sorry I didn’t answer your question, :where’s my $300.00? I don’t know what you did with your Stimulus refund that G.W. Flashy actually sums it up very well. All the folks howling and whining about “people who do nothing but want everything handed to them” somehow are missing the fact that the corporate overlords are the ones who are helping themselves–to our government. (The idea of Obamacare being socialist is ludicrous–and besides, what we need is Medicare for everyone, if we want to ever solve the nation-threatening problem of skyrocketing medical costs.)

you blame reagan and bush and praise clinton but clinton was the one who signed nafta which let our jobs go overseas and clinton refused to drill in alaska which we would not see 3.40 cent gas now and as far as health care they should take the insurance companys out of the picture and let people pay their family doctor a monthly fee to be put in a fund for health care then when you go to the hospitol just pay a 20.00 office call and the fund could take care of all other issues a hospitol should be a hospitol and not gift shops and ect. that has nothing to do with your health care

      • Ted Zusman

Say what you will about Regan, he created 1 million jobs in one month with his policies. Obama has spent more in 3 years than any president in our history. He’s creating 70 to 80 thousand jobs a month. Keep blaming Republicans for that. Doesn’t work. Obama has lied and lied and lied again. Transparent? Cutting defecit in half in first term? Obamacare allowing people to keep the insurance they are happy with and reducing costs and defecit? Not!!!! Lies over and over again. EPA putting businesses out of business, coal industry. Green Energy, spending huge sums of tax payer dollars on speculation. Solyndra, with several others that are about to go chapter 11. Keystone pipeline, he refused. National Labor relations board not allowing Boeing to build plant in right to work state. You’re worried about corporations, what about unions? Breaking the bank everywhere. Obama said he’d put the health care negotiations on Cspan. What a joke, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid did it behind closed doors, then Nancy had the nerve to announce, “we have to pass the bill to know what is in it”. That makes sense. What if the contents are bad? They are, I have a medical background. As illustrated above, Obama has done nothing to create jobs, he’s doing a great job of creating dependency on government, a broke government. These are the people you defend, you don’t have a leg to stand on. If Obama gets another 4 years, you’ll have nobody to blame but yourself. He has no idea how to create jobs.

      • needfulthings

Well Ted … do ya know what year and how ronnie star wars ray gun created 1 million jobs (if he really did) in a year ? Bye the bye Carter left office unemployment was around 7.5% . That first year ray gun cut taxes for the wealthy the economy took a dive we ended up with 10% unemployeed and Yes it took ray gun raising taxes ( he holds the record for piece time tax increases) to kick start the economy again, ray gun also holds the record for the largest increase in the US deficit spending nearly 300% from 800 million to aprox 3.2 TRILLION! What could Obama do if he took dubya’s 6 / Trillion added that to all thee other republican presidents defict spending , thats around 11 / 12 trillion deficit and TRIPPLED IT? Let me see 33 Trillion bucks Obama should be able to hire everyone twice over !

Back to ray guns job creation He gave over 3 Million illegal Immigrants amnesty, most were working so they got included in ray guns job creation of 14/15 million in 8 years Plus we ALL were coming out of a Global recession created by a CON-trived oil shortage … ALL countries economies doubled / trippled after that ALL (not just ray-gun)

I liked ray gun but the myth is hard to take, I like reality !

      • Jim

Well stated. I agree. He has to go. He is ruining our country!

If Oblundercare is so good, then why is nearly 60% of the country opposed to it? Is most of the country incapable of figuring out what they don’t like and need a liberal/socialist president to tell us what we need because we are too stupid to figure it out?

If it was so popular, then why was it shoved down our throats before it was even read by the crooks who passed it? If it is so good, then why id we have to pass it “so we can see what’s in it?”

It’s horrible, just like the present occupier of the White House, who disregards the constitution and disrespects his office and the people he is supposed to represent. He has to be fired in November. Didn’t he say when he was elected that if he didn’t turn the economy around, that he would not seek re-election and would be a one term president? He apparently lied about that too, so it is up to us to kick him out.

    • Steve L.

THE REAL PROBLEM IS A 1%WHO ARE TOTALLY SELF-CENTERED AND GREEDY. CORPORATE AMERICA IS SITTING ON A COUPLE TRILLION IN CASH AND WON’T USE IT TO STIMULATE THE ECONOMY, CAPITALISM COLLAPSED IN COMPLETE FAILURE ,UNLESS YOUR WEALTHY, PEOPLE GO HUNGRY WHILE OIL COMPANIES AND G.E GET THEIR CORPORATE WELFARE, AND A MINORITY POLITICAL PARTY PUTTING AMERICANS THROUGH PROLONGED GRIEF TO MAKE OBAMA A ONE TERM PRES.

Industrialists have always run this country. Presidents come and go. You want the rich to pay? Why aren’t you rich? Something holding you back? You sound scared and angry. Learn to help yourself. If you want to put the blame on someone blame yourself. Don’t look to the media for answers. They tell you what the industrialists want you hear. They own the media. If they want to put clowns in office to further their agenda they will. Just look at the clown they control now. The secular Humanists are trying to take over this country. I invite you to read the Secular Humanist manifesto II on the internet. You will come to realize that ONE World government is their aim. They have already made great strides in our public schools and colleges. There is a great amount of evil working to end our soveriegnty. If you like what is going on Keep still. Dug, Why Americans beat up on fellow Americans? The real people that should be beat CONGRESSIONAL MEMBERS IN BOTH THE HOUSE AND SENATE. Why you ask ? My rep does a good job. I like him or her. YOU FOOL.HERE ARE THE FACTS.
THE US GIVES BILLIONS IN FOREIGN AID TO THE WORLDS RICHEST COUNTRIES-THEN ASK TO BORROW IT BACK. Can you believe this.
The Congressional Research Service released a report to CONGRESS last month which shows that in 2010 the US handed out a total of $1.4 BILLION ,THAT’S BILLION WITH A B, to 16 foreign countries that held at least $10 BILLION in TREASURY SECURITIES. Did you see this report i didn’t. Did you hear it on local or world news? i didn’t. Could $1.4 BILLION HELP PAY FOR THE HEALTH CARE BILL? POSSIBLY. It’s not that the US don’t have the money, it’s that the US is GIVING MONEY AWAY. YOUR MONEY. Money that could pay for many things that our people need. Congress, both sides, is giving your money away to the very countries that wish our demise.

Russia $71 million- Vetoes every bill the US brings before the United Nations.
China $27.2 Million- A COMMUNIST POLICE STATE that has forced ABORTION.
Mexico $316.7 Million- Soon to be the next DRUG STATE filled with POLITICAL
      CORRUPTION.
Egypt $255.7 Million- Just elected the Muslim Brotherhood. SWORN ENEMY OF ISRAEL
      THE US.
Colombia $461.2 Million- Largest exporter of NARCOTICS IN THE WESTERN
      HEMISPHERE.
Your Congressional SENATE AND HOUSE Representative doesn’t care about the American People only in what preserves there power. Keep the American people fighting among them selves and we on the hill will rob them blind. Many other countries receive MILLIONS in your money.

The Philippines $126 Million- Do you know what they do with our money/ I don’t.
Brazil $25 Million – This must be a COVER CHARGE, like when you enter a NIGHT CLUB,
mabe the US must pay this to enter the country.
      Thailand $16.75 Million
      Turkey $8.2 Million

This is just a few countries that the US pays DRAFT to. People stop fighting among your self. The real problems in this country is GENERATED BY CONGRESS.
Thy come in making low 6 figure salaries and leave as millionaires.

I have a friend who thinks this same BS. He says “It’s FREE healthcare for EVERYBODY!”

I keep telling him it’s NOT free! SOMEBODY has to pay for it. Doctors and nurses are not FREE, medicine is not FREE. He thinks the gov’t pays for it, but he forgets where the gov’t gets (steals) its money.

In Florida, Gov. Scott says he will NOT be implementing the medicaid expansion of obooboo care and he is going to make damn sure only legal citizens vote.

Obooboo sued Scott for purging the voter roles of illegal freaking aliens voting our races. Obooboo LOST. The court ruled that Florida has the right to remove from the roles those who are ineligible to vote.

I am neither republican or democrat. I am a free thinking independent and I will be first in line to vote my conscience this November.

      • Jim

        Amen!

      • alex

moonbeam, are you saying you have no principles that you just vote for the best sounding lie

      • Robert Rashbrooke

If only everything was in black and white!

Governor Scott was CEO of Columbia Health care when it defrauded the government, and perforce the public, of tens of billions of dollars and was fined $1.4 billion by the DoJ. As CEO Scott denied any knowledge of the fraud, which makes him either untruthful or incompetent!

Scott himself possibly spent $70 million to get himself elected governor. Why do that? And now he refuses to implement expanded Medicaid for the PEOPLE whilst still having a strong investment in his wife’s health care company, having already initiated private health care vouchers for Florida prisoners. As some keep pointing out, ONLY liberals and progressives are criminal, duplicitous, idiotic, untrustworthy, misinformed and uncaring, thank goodness!

      Doug,
      Palin should talk.The telegraph
Sarah Palin’s family sought health care in Canada
Sarah Palin has raised questions over her staunch criticism of state health care after the former Alaska governor admitted her own family used to “zoom” over the border to get treated in Canada’s hospitals.

Sarah Palin will be reunited on the campaign trail with John McCain Photo: EPA
By Tom Leonard in New York

      1:14AM GMT 10 Mar 2010
The former Republican vice presidential candidate has been a frequent critic of big government and has lambasted Barack Obama’s health care reforms as ushering in socialised medicine, denouncing his plans as “downright evil”.

But during a weekend speech in Calgary, she revealed that her family used medical care in Whitehorse, the capital of Canada’s Yukon Territory, decades ago.

She also criticised the publicly funded system saying that it should be dismantled in favour of free enterprise.

Mrs Palin, who moved as a child to the south-eastern Alaska town of Skagway, was speaking at an event sponsored by the Fraser Institute, a conservative Canadian think tank.

However, she did acknowledge the irony of her comments.

“Believe it or not – this was in the sixties – we used to hustle on over the border for health care that we would receive in Whitehorse,” she said.

“I remember my brother, he burned his ankle in some little kid accident thing, and my parents had to put him on a train and rush him over to Whitehorse, and I think, ‘Isn’t that kind of ironic now’. Zooming over the border, getting health care from Canada.”

Chuck Heath, Mrs Palin’s father, said they had had little choice but use the Canadian facilities given Skagway’s location.

“There was no road out of there at that time. The ferry schedule was very erratic. We had no doctor in Skagway,” he said.

“The plane schedule was very erratic. The winds dictated whether the planes could come in or not.”

He said his family probably took the train to the Whitehorse hospital only twice – once when his son burned his leg and again when a daughter had rheumatic fever.

Mr Heath also stressed that they had “much preferred” to use US medical facilities as his insurance did not cover any treatment in Whitehorse.

      • Dennis48e

So it is somehow Sarah Palin’s fault her father sought health care in Canada.

      • Jim

I submit that in an emergency, anyone would go to the closet hospital. In their case it was in Canada…

Doug: I would take advise from my 6 year old great grand child before I would listen to Sara Palin. She is a good example of a person who quits in the middle of something or someone to better herself.

      • Don

Sounds like the liberals are getting in a frenzy again over Palin, they must be worried again because someone tells the truth, why don’t you pigs move out if you hate this country so much ?????

      • http://yahoo bob peters

You voted for Obama! That in itself shows your mental illness!

    • http://personalliberty Terri

i agree/everyone thinks it will be like Canada or europe universal healthcare. it will not be. We will be required to carry insurance or be fined. (so more money we have to pay) and there will be a deductible and coins. So there will be money out of pocket that these people will have to pay and if you do not pay the providers can take you to court and garnish your wages until paid in full only a few states do not allow garnishments for medical bills. If you have a 500.00 ded and then the insurance company pays 80% you will have to pay 20% of allowable charges and not all charges will be covered/ What a RUDE awakening people will get who support this and if their company does not offer medical insurance for their employees they will be fined 2000.00 per person. For the company i work for it will be cheaper to not offer insurance since they pay more than 2000.00 per year per person..This is a MESS and should be recalled.

      • http://personalliberty Terri

just a follow up. in addition to the coins and ded the insurance you will be required to carry will also need to be paid as well. Just another bill. Can the ones who cannot afford to have insurance afford the premiums, ded, and coins that will be required as well

THE DOOMSDAY FACTOR TO INDUSTRIAL ECONOMICS THREATENING AMERICA RELEASED JULY 4, 2012! From Erasmus Of America
II Thessalonians 2:12, “That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

The smart way to prevent The Doomsday Factor To Industrial Economics Threatening America is to face the national danger, immediately pass the Onmi Law and with sound economic principles restored to national power instantly, crisis is over! But to hide our heads in the sands hoping it will disappear by itself, that just won’t happen folks! If you don’t care, why should God care? If you love evil leadership and evil government, God is not going to help yourself according to the Bible until you put God-approved leaders in national power. The Old Testament plainly stated if a nation will put a righteous leader in the eyes of God into national power or plural of leaders also applies, God will postpone judgment on that nation until the righteous leader is out of power. And if the nation repents of its evil before God before the righteous leader is out of power, then God will forgive that nation and not submit it to the judgment and wrath of God for disgusting evil in its actions and national character stinking before God.
A quick summary of the Omni Law can be the following simplified explanation. This puts a legal oversight committee over the U.S. Republic of 10 labelled American Civil Tribunes modeled after the ancient Roman Civil Tribunes who kept the Roman Republic basically free of tyranny and corruption towards its Roman citizens for hundreds of years. The tribune position had to be subverted, undermined, and then Rome could return to the corrupt version of republic that Wash., D.C. loves to be today in 2012. For example. under Agenda 21 Obama and Democratic Party associates are trying to sneak over the American people, Obama and allies want to give away 50% of all the land of America to the United Nations under the front of fighting global warming and environmentalism and maybe all Americans in America lose their homes as they are herded off to huge settlement cities which would be glorified anthills to live in for the rest of their lives. Businesses lose most or all their buildings and properties and America becomes one glorified super Communist police state where the state owns everything, the people own nothing, and the people work for lower wages than any other form of capitalism as the state really owns everything of value in America and regulate the hell out of the rest of it making mockery of the concept of private ownership of business in America. We pass the Omni Law and the 10 American Civil Tribunes in disgust at the Agenda 21 of Obama and covert Communists in the Democratic Party immediately put Agenda 21 to national referendum. After the massive national vote against Agenda 21 by national referendum of the American people, Agenda 21 disappears into thin air and is never tried to be passed into law through the U.S. Congress again as they know, the 10 American Civil Tribunes who are the legal sword of protection for the American people will never let such an outrageous proposed national law ever be passed in America after the American people have plaintly spoken by national law to create binding national laws and policies on any issue presented them by the 10 American Civil Tribunes.

The following is quoted from an email from Erasmus of America answering some questions on the Omni Law asked by a person wanting to know how strong the Omni Law would be to stop corruption and treason in Wash., D.C. Quoting now:
“Answers to your questions. The first round of 10 American Civil Tribunes would be appointed by the National Institute For Inventors which is ultra-conservative in stands and contacts. 10 strong critics of federal corruption, treason, etc. would be the first 10 Civil Tribunes appoined by NIFI. They will write up and submit for national referendum how to elect future Civil Tribunes in national elections controlled by the people and not corrupt interests in Wash., D.C. After the first round of Civil Tribunes, it will be up to the American people to continue electing honorable persons highly dedicated to America for this post every 4 years. The type honest person elected to this post should be contrary to the type who could be bribed or try to blackmail people, etc. It would be best that these 10 elected not run on any party ticket, but independents. We won’t let the cat out of the bag yet, but they won’t need a fortune to run for this position which will block corrupt interests from controlling them. We have a much cheaper way to get their positions and stands out than vast fortune campaigns today. And an airtight system how any legal American citizen may run for this position, but would have to have an elimination process so a limited number of candidates are submitted to the people for the final election every 4 years. Their legal power will be the same basic type as established by legal precedent of Roman law when the Roman Civil Tribunes protected the Roman people from legal tyranny. They can call for national referendums to bypass a corrupt or irresponsible Congress to establish new laws and policies for America. They can suspend proposed laws to be voted for by the U.S. Senate by stating before the U.S. Senate “I Veto” which is the formula they used under Roman law to cancel would-be laws intended to be tyranny against Roman citizens. Any criminal trial they judge is a legal frame-up, they can issue the legal words “I Veto” and the trial is over. They can order the release from prison of those they judge were falsely convicted under law. They can order arrests and hold for trial by jury for high treason officials or employees of the federal government. This would be under tribune copied Roman law. The judgment of acquital or else conviction would be swift and final and no further appeal under law. This scared the “hell” out of would-be dictators, etc. and all officials were forced to behave themselves under law until the Roman Civil Tribunes were undermined and destroyed under law. Civil Tribunes could only be ordered arrested by authority of other Civil Tribunes. If anyone tried to kill or harm a Civil Tribune while in office, the Roman people had the authority to instantly kill the would-be murderers the same day as murder was attempted as that would be intended to remove the Civil Tribunes as the legal sword of protection for the Roman people under the Roman Republic. Even James Madison, father of the U.S. Constitution, praised the Roman people for having civil tribunes to protect their legal rights under the Roman Republic. There is more but this is the core of what it means to copy the legal precedents of ancient Roman Civil Tribune law. Today with liberal schemers in Wash., D.C. trying to set up Agenda 21 to confiscate 50% of American land to legal title to the UN, the civil tribunes would call a national referendum and outlaw Agenda 21 as of that moment so the American people never lose 50% of all their land in America to traitors in Wash., D.C. who must hate America to want to give away to foreigners 50% of all the land now composing the 50 states of America. Enough said for now! Erasmus of America July 5, 2012 P.S. Look up Agenda 21 in search engines as a number of websites carry extensive references how Obama wants to give away 50% of American land to the United Nations and likely all owners of homes in America are kicked out by federal agents or soldiers and shipped off to the super Communist concentration camps called resettlement cities where all the ants, former Americans, live together in their super ant hills!
“If we don’t restore minerals and trace elements to the soil that grows our food, we’ll see a plague of degenerate diseases by the end of the century.” Dr. George Earp-Thomas, medical research scientist (1948). He provoked the legal wrath of Wash., D.C. in the late 1930′s when he cured people of cancer by feeding them food raised with all the nutrition in it that nature had intended for that food for human good health. In fact, it was reported that Wash., D.C. burned down his lab to put him out of business in research work on cancer. They had already boasted they would find a way to bankrupt him and put him out of business in cancer research. When Dr. Max Gerson fled Austria due to the Nazis and came to America to continue his research work on curing people of deadly ailments by correct diet, he was treated as an archcriminal by Wash., D.C. for wanting to cure cancer patients by correct diet. In Switzerland, he had cured nearly 100% of TB patients by diet alone and had done this with hundreds of patients at a Swiss hospital. When he wanted to work with cancer patients in America with the same approach as had created the highest cure rate against TB as ever seen in medical history, he also met the legal wrath of Wash., D.C. for daring to want to cure cancer patients by diet alone. In the end, he was allowed to work with officially terminal cancer patients already sent home to die by the medical field and of these, he had a high cure rate of terminal cancer patients. Some of these later testified before a Congressional committee to allow Dr. Max Gerson to work with all cancer patients, not just the terminal cancer patients, but the members of Congress already bought and paid for by powerful interests never lifted a finger to give him legal authority to work with non-terminal cancer patients.
Dr. Lorraine Day on TBN in 2007 released the official medical figures indicating that cancer was growing so fast among the American people that by 2020 100% of all Americans were medically predicted would have cancer or had had cancer by 2020 which is just 8 years ahead in our future. I give these medical examples to show that Wash., D.C. is totally corrupt and cares nothing about the American people at all. The game in Wash., D.C. is ego, money, perverted sex, power, drugs, parties, cons on the American people where they laugh at the American people dumb enough to believe everything they tell the American people, cooperation of the morally corrupt and dishonest national media covering all they can for all the corruption and high treason going on in Wash., D.C. in the high power circles of Wash., D.C. When I cured by natural means different forms of cancer in my body maybe12 years ago or earlier, Wash., D.C. threatened sources I was using to give people the same supplies I used to cure myself of cancer in my body. I got rid of a tumor on my arm in 4 days flat and left no scar! That provoked the wrath of Wash., D.C. I removed a large tumor on my face in 4 days and agan left no scar. This provoked the wrath of Wash., D.C. I cured advanced colon cancer in myself in 7 days flat with all the cancer passing out of my body on the 7th day and never had colon cancer return. This provoked the wrath of Wash., D.C. When I met the head of a cancer research foundation in America, he indicated the American medical field was not interested in cancer cures like these and Wash., D.C. would never allow such natural methods to cure cancer to become legal in America.
Let me step powerfully on the toes of the power elite traitors in Wash., D.C. The secret to curing any ailment is correct the root cause of the ailment and not attack the symptoms of the ailments. The profits in corrupt national medicine is attack the symptoms, not the root cause of any ailment. My healing answers to cancer could be done for $100 or less. But to “fight” but not cure cancer can easily cost the federal government through Obamacare or other federal medical programs maybe $300,000 to $450,000 to “fight” but not cure cancer in you! Trace the money trail! The giant profits in medicine are to “fight” but not cure deadly threats like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc. Among many evils in Obamacare is it would totally crush any natural cures for ailments in America and all your approved federal medical programs to try and “cure” you would all be witchdoctor medicine the same as Louis Pasteur had to fight in Europe when the medical doctors in France wanted him arrested and put into prison for daring to claim such things existed as germs and they caused all these terrible diseases of the world. America is like pre-Louis Pasture medicine, only while they admit to the existence of germs now, they still have numerous ways to wiggle around cures that so often work against diseases that will kill off huge numbers of mankind otherwise. As soon as we pass the Omni Law, one of our first proposed national laws for national referendum will be that the American people have the legal right to use any type medical treatment they think can cure them, not just those officially “approved” by Wash., D.C. which is colossally crooked and dishonest in national health issues and also agricultural issues affecting your health.
To shoot down federal psychological warfare and propaganda that I am a fool and not that smart, my mother was once rated by I.Q. test to be the most brilliant child in American history up to her time and entered a state university without prior formal education after learning how to read and write from her grandmother. She was a child actress and had no time for formal schooling. My own I.Q. was once officially tested in Wash., D.C. and in shock they told me that I had scored an official I.Q. score of “beyond scientific measurement” and one of the two highest ever tested in Wash., D.C. While I personally believe that common sense properly used is a higher form of intelligence than official academic intelligence, I mention the above because they are too sold on the concept that only high academic I.Q. is genius. Well, Thomas Edison with a huge amount of common sense and only a few months of formal education in his life skyrocketed past the engineers of America with his thousand or so inventions he released in America. My mother was an academic genius and my father was a genius in common sense. I respect both forms of genius and I learned much in how to think from both my parents, not just one side. And to illustrate a deadly fallacy in American educational concepts today, if you take an idiot and educate him, what do you get? An educated idiot. I am forced to say that when formal education practices a hgh level of censorship of the truth and important answers so education can become brainwashing of the gullible instead of sound education of the bright in America. With sound education, the prior idiot or fool can be taught sound methods of thinking and potentially broken of having a miseducated or non-educated mind in reality. As some teachers have shown, even retarded children skillfully educated have passed in test results ordinary students taught by usual methods in school. The usual result if some teacher causes retarded children to skyrocket past in test results ordinary students, the teacher usually gets fired and blackballed from being allowed to be a teacher after that after being too successful in teaching her or his students how to soundly think and use their brains correctly. I spent most of my life in elite private schools and a little in public schools. Let me get control of American education and all students will get a super, quality sound education. They will learn how to think powerfully and soundly. And America will skyrocket with potentially almost the whole nation becoming brilliant to utter geniuses in comparison to before. They can defend their belief in God or atheism with brains, not as stupid brains who cannot think worth a hill of beans or make a credible defense for what they believe in to govern their lives. I even respect my critics or enemies if they do it intelligently. I just hate for stupidity to be passed off as intelligence. But usually with seriously intelligent people, I will win them over partially or else totally to my side. By the same token, if they raise a good enough point, I will give them credit and maybe the subject is more complex than a simple explanation at first glance. But with truly intelligent people, I find the common theme so much of the time that all of us are dedicated to the truth and in our discussions, we will find the real truths and both sides may end up with some different conclusions than started with on either side. I always respect even honest disagreement from intelligent people and we sharpen our minds both sides of debates over important issues.
Fuel Economy Of The Gasoline Engine, edited by D. R. Blackmore and A. Thomas, A Halsted Press Book, shows tests by Shell Research Limited, Thornton Research Centre, Chester, United Kindgom. They tell how they got extremely high gas mileage on standard commercial cars. For example, a modified 1947 Studebaker achieved 149.95 mile/US gal. in the 1949 Wood River competition, a 1959 Fiat 600 achieved 244.35 mile/us gal. in the 1968 Wood River competition, and among others a modified 1959 Opel achieved 376.59 mile/us gallon in the 1973 Wood River competition. Under corrupt, treasonable Washington policy, federal sources made sure that America would never get even remotely high gas mileage on your cars like this. Only when my Omni Law is passed in 2012 and I intend to withdraw this proposed law from America if the American people do not care to save America now in 2012, I will through the Omni Law see that it is now legal under Washington law to start pushing up serious high gas mileage on American cars. Also, if oil countries try a new price war on oil to hurt the American economy, I will bring out a new answer on car fuel that can make oil obsolete to use on cars. In engineering school, they thought I was a genius in engineering and allowed me to do my engineering studies at one week of engineering studies every day and I kept an A average in engineering while doing this. Also, before he died, Charles Kettering who had once been head of reserach for General Motors and later President of General Motors reviewed 920 of my inventive concepts I had come up with in 2 weeks and he wrote that he rated me as potentially the most brilliant inventive genius that would ever rise in American history. He wrote among other things I had independently come up with the top secret guidance system for American ICBM’s. If Wash., D.C. had not savagely fought me everytime I wanted to establish a new industry for America, I would have likely given America up to 2,000 new industries in America and America would be such a colossal industrial giant now as would leave even China in amazed shock over how huge the American economy had become nearly overnight. The Omni Law will allow me to begin a great new industrial birth of America and skyrocket America into its greatest industrial age in history. Don’t defeat the passage of my Omni Law in 2012 because the American people refuse to fight to give the American economy a giant rebirh by passage of the Omni Law in 2012. And I will to help save mankind from the Doomsday Factor to Industrial Economics which threatens the survival of America now but also the entire world. If not passed in 2012, I may be forced to teach my industrial economics to another nation instead and they will wildly skrocket past America in that case. I don’t want to do this, but for moral reasons my hand will shortly be forced if the American people do not even care about their future as a nation and economy or not. My Omni Law Report (4 pages) can be seen and copied from Nesara News (June archive listing, 2012) and some of my other reports on economics also in the June listing or else the May listing. If stuck, email me and ask for a copy of the Omni Law Report from my national email address of fastboomamericaneconomy@gmail.com . When the serious financial support comes in, I will have a national website to read key economic reports of mine and will have a staff to swiftly answer emails, but I had $525,000 stolen from me by Wash., D.C. so I would not have this staff to service the public at this time. When I asked the Obama Administration for return of my federally stolen $525,000, I had a federal murder attempt attempt on my life, so I got the message loud and clear from Obama that he does not want for me to show America my free enterprise answers that will skyrocket the American economy. I had been written up by a prestigious international organization as “The Einstein of American Economics” after I studied with six of the most brilliant economists of America and Europe including a German economist endorsed by Albert Einstein as teaching the only true economic science in the 20th century. I have this very new, expanded version of economic science heavily using engineering to skyrocket the economic growth of America or other nations or the whole world economy if they want to learn my tricks in economic science.
The following economic warning from Bob Livingston is a valid warning of eminent economic disaster for America, but far worse for America than even Bob Livingston realizes. If too much hyperinflation hits America too fast and Obama who is incredibly dumb in national economics is still President when this hits, then the Industrial Doomsday Factor to Industrial Economics may be triggered off by moron level economic policies of Obama who understands nothing about national economics. In that case, America may crash into an economic collapse so total as to look like a science fiction horror movie and America end up with 90% to 99% of all the American people dead before it is over. Also, this could easily spread to all the world and maybe the world lucky if 5% of the human race survives the total crash of the world economy. Let me give the economically naive American people a powerful hint. We have a sophisticated division of labor only possible with an effective monetary system in power. Due to large city populations,we cannot survive on a barter system of economics. Try to survive on barter and in the end from 90% to 99% of the American people stand a good chance getting killed in the total economic collapse of America. Then Europe follows. Africa, Latin and Central America, and Asia including China, Japan, and India for example. Wash., D.C. is fanatically pushing today the key economic policy Karl Marx said to push as it would ultimately bankrupt America, the world, and then Communism takes over the world. For our naive leaders in Wash., D.C. who don’t know what Karl Marx told world Communism from Brussels, Belgium, pass the Omni Law and then I will tell you what policy we will stop by authority of the Omni Law and save the American economy from pending collapse and the world economy from pending collapse.
Okay folks, read the following which is a deadly warning to the survival of America as a nation. Back fanatically my Omni Law. See everyone sees it and get all your friends, associates, churches, civic groups, etc . to aggressively back it. And financial backing is very welcome as the enemies of America are heavily financed to finish America off within America. My mailing address is NIFI, P.O. Box 1465, Seneca, SC 29679 . Make any checks, etc. out to NIFI and you can mark for Omni Law Drive as reference. Read my separate God-given right to survival report also listed with Nesara News to see how I plan to later pay you back by treating this money as loans and not contributions. and I will see you are well rewarded financially as Patriots of America. The other report tells how this works. Now read this report below as the end of this report. See that all of America sees this entire report on the Doomsday Factors to Industrial Economics and let us save America from pending economic disaster which could even occur before 2012 is over. Send this report out as emails and post to blogs all across America. Yours for God and Country of America, Erasmus of America (pen name for now. Will use my regular name when the time is right, but already I figure all Washington intelligence sources know quite clearly who I am. My trademark in intelligence reports was always, “spent eleven calendar years in military academies.” When alive, St. Padre Pio of Italy wrote me while I was a military cadet in military school, told me a great secret of mine no one knew, and indicated when the enemies of Christianity think they are about to finish America off and Christianity in the world, suddenly arise against them and smash them. This was the Will of God as God would not leave Christian civilization without a powerful defender when the enemies of Christianity are confident of wiping out Christianity once and for all in the world. He indicated I was supposed to found a cross-bearer movement of the dedicated Christians and we would be the beloved of Jesus Christ. I also received a similar message from other holy people of different branches of Christianity, but Padre Pio who bore the wounds of Christ on his hands and feet for 50 years and had daily stunning Miracles of God occur when he prayed in the name of Jesus for them stunned me with his message to me. Having been raised by a hardcore Protestant father and a Catholic convert mother, I understand both sides well and can help bridge differences so we can return to the Apostolic Constitution of first Christianity. Both Protestants and Catholics will be surprised to see how far all sides have drifted from the way first Christianity kept itself strong in the early Roman Empire. Separately, a man who predicted nearly my entire life correctly backed up what Padre Pio said, said I should strive to help Christians bridge their differences and reunify as much as possible under early Apostolic Christianity which all sides need more knowledge of in these days. And God gave me a gift in economics as I would electrify the people with my powerful results when they saw what I could do for America and other nations needing help in national and world economics. I am greatly disillustioned with all the evil and corruption in the leadership of Wash., D.C., but for the sake of the American people and others, I am willing to bail Wash., D.C. out of the economic mess its stupidity and fanaticism has trashed the American economy with. Pass my proposed Omni Law and I can bring out the 25 Bible principles of national economics that have all worked before in history with spectacular results. My pet Bible principle of national economics is Jesus Money which was the most spectacularly successful monetary system used in human history and 4 times in history wildly skyrocketed the affected economies into overnight super prosperity. Only the evil conspiracies of earlier bankers tricked the people out of Jesus Money and fast economic crash once the monetary system taught by Jesus Christ in the New Testament was overthrown by tricked stupidity of the gullible people falling for the propaganda lies of the early politicians hired by the bankers to overthrow Jesus Money in society. The bankers had to censor your history classes in your schools or else you would no longer have recessions or depressions or even poverty in society as virtually everyone got basically rich under Jesus Money. You see God will bless nations seriously loyal to God! But you want to trust evil leaders with national power over you instead of Christian leaders loyal to God, know how the Jesus Money system works, and as Jesus taught, are dedicated to being your servants instead of your masters as the evil want to be over you as they secretly hate the American people. The evil plot evil disasters for the American people because they secretly despise you. Christian leaders want to do good for you with economic policies, etc. Why do you want evil to rule over America instead of good leaders to guide you into sound economic pathways? The evil burn you with their results. The good bless you with their results! Pass the Omni Law. I was shocked when in April, 2012, I was given a stunning Miracle of God to show that God backs me to pass the Omni Law for America. When I shared this Miracle of God with a few friends of mine, they agreed that God gave me a stunning Miracle of God in April, 2012 to back my Omni Law drive. One of them suggesed either an angel of the Lord or else Jesus Christ did directly the stunning Miracle of God I needed to create the solid center foundation to my 25 Bible Economic Principles for America. When the Christians show me they are as militant for Christianity as the enemies of God are to destroy Christianity in America and the world, then I can release the 25 Bible Economic Principles of the Bible I am supposed to show America when the time is ripe. When the American people love the truths of God more than the lies and cons of Wash., D.C., I will show the American people the great economic secrets that will skyrocket the American economy. If the American people will allow me through the Omni Law, I intend to have America skyrocket pass China and again be the undisputed industrial leader of the world, but in ways that economically bless all nations that are friends with America and not its enemies. )

        Ouch, scary religious zealot.

Say what you want on religion and how yours is ideal ehawkeye but it isn’t. Lot of people died in the name of your God, many didn’t deserve it.

Keep the God out of government. You can elect all the religious people you want but I hope they can be smart enough to realize there is more than one religion here to protect. Remind them they need to protect me from you.

Sarah Palin is brain dead, she knows nothing! THOSE people don’t think there getting something for nothing, they ARE willing to pay what they can to get health care, to stay alive, to stay working, to stay above ground . 30 million americans have zero health care , another 50 million have health care that has deductables that are equal to half their incomes, You people on the right offer NOTHING as a replacement, Palin the half governer even sighed into law her so called “DEATH PANEL” language for Alaskan’s and said and I quote “I didn’t know it was in there” ! again Plain is brain dead, A poor governor ,a worse parent ,( TWO grand kids out of wedlock so far) , a cheat’n wife and a basket ball groupy slut! Why wouldanyone have respect for that?

needfulthings, I’ll offer you something: eat healthy and stay out of the doctor’s office and the hospitals. That’s something isn’t it? The problem? The vast majority think they can treat their bodies like garbage cans and get away with it and they don’t want to take responsibility for their own actions. They want to blame everything and everybody else for their being sick.

      • needfulthings

There many reasons for Illness / disease, Some you can thank your parents for, Some you can thank the environment for, Some can thank the smoke stacks a couple down the road for, Some you can thank whats in your water for, Some you can thank whats been allowed in our foods for, Some say their starting to see ILL effects from GMO foods (Europe has dis-allowed these in their country) Some don’t even have ready excess to fresh fruits and vegges in their city (detroit has NO super markets within the city ) you have’ta drive or take a bus to within one block of the city limits for that. Also All Vietnam Vets have Agent Orange in their Blood stream to this day which is KNOWN to cause DIABETES ( Over 4000 vets at the VA Hospital I volunteer at have Diabetes) plus their kids/grandkids are at risk, and of course thats their fault for serving ,The CHICKEN HAWKS were so much smarter than us Vets. (are you feeling me cheney & dubya ??????

      • Jim

All you seem to want to do is blame everyone and everything else. The fact is that many, if not most of the health care problems in this country are brought upon people by themselves due to an unhealthy lifestyle. That is exactly the argument that is used by California (banning Happy Meals for kids) and most recently NYC (banning 32 oz soft drinks). The argument is that when people get unhealthy and sick due to eating too much fast food and not exercising, they become a financial burden on the healthcare industry, and more specifically our taxes. So they pass laws to (try to) force people to be healthy so they don’t get sick.

What ever happened to personal responsibility???? Stop blaming everyone else. Sure there are hereditary and environmental factors to consider, but this is not the major cause of the problem.

      • needfulthings

The right loves to use ” What ever happened to personal responsibility” Yet nine out of ten times the right believes that’s for everybody else! Its a Phrase to the right, they have almost never except personal responsibility. Many examples just no time for this lie.
(banning Happy Meals for kids) — (banning 32 oz soft drinks). But isn’t that “SOCIALISM” the very thing you call our president … can you see yourself now?
Now to worry this country has operated under Socialist laws since before your dad was born.
The average family eats at the Mc’s three times a month (or so they say)?
You have NO clue as to how many people are sick (for other than your stated reasons) it ain’t just the burger biggies and if it was your socialist leanings should make you work on passing laws to limit or shut’em down!

Did ya know that if you had chicken pox, measles or acne when you were a kid you can’t get treatment for several life threating Illnesses? ( Its a “PRE-EXISTING CONDITION” YES some cancers are in that group. shame on them for not taking care of themselfs !!!

The corn-servitives are EVIL, sub-human! Their GAWD will punish them.

needfulthings, ok so you turn to the doctor and take a pill from him or let him or her cut out your organs all the while denying that you can do anything for yourself. You make my point. If you live in the city and can’t get fresh then move out to the country. There is plenty of room there.

I will admit that it’s too late for many to rely on healthy living but for the vast majority this is not true. It’s never too late to do something. I’ve seen “miracles” happen to people when they change their diets. Including miracles with diabetes.

Just move hey! some would if they could, most can’t and there be many reasons for that (like the fact that most of the housing is RENTAL and that’s hard to find in the country. some don’t have a car, some don’t have a computer …… but ya just don’t get it, Ya don’t get to pick your parents, Ya don’t get to to pick your disease and a lot of them don’t even have a doctor (well at least the President has got that one covered soon)! Bye the Bye just how much housing do ya think there is out there in the country ????

I’m gonna mark you down as “NO ANSWER” Clueless !

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

needfulthings, there is more than enough housing out here in the country. No, you can’t pick your parentage but, you can ameliorate the worst of your genetics by proper diet.

Humans do pick their parents before the come to the planet deciding they would be the best choice to learn what is needed for their spiritual growth. :) .

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Sally Jo, I see that you were smiling when you wrote your comment. I can’t make a smile big enough here to let you know how much this tickles me :) Anyway, I don’t know about the picking parents part but I do agree that this life is a learning opportunity.

I have made soooooo many bad decisions, done things I swore I’d never do, did things over again that I said I wouldn’t and it has cost me a fortune, but I’m not sorry about any of it. Oh, I’m not proud of many of the things I’ve done but I’ve learned so much that I would never want to undo any of it. The difficult thing is living with the consequences of what I’ve done. That gets easier with time though. Be well and prosper Sally Jo

      • Sally Jo

        Katrael~
Your comment warmed my heart as it was refreshing to read humbleness in words instead of those slamming one another for word gain for their own energy power. I, too, have made decisions I now regret, but at the time I thought they were the right ones. Like you, what I have learned from these choices have been amazing, and I could never learn these from a textbook. Besides, I am told from the spriit world that words do not teach, it is the experiences that do, as you can see. We have come so far away from the teachings of Jesus directing us how to live while we are here on this planet. I am amazed at how whenever someone mentions Jesus/God that they are a religious zealot. That is how far gone we are as a planet. When materialism, greed, money, power, etc., have become the dominet motivation for living, we have lost our way. We first were spiritual before we came, then human. We came from love, like a child of 2-3 years…so full of love. We need love to exist..but we have been distracted by the other power gaining control. Thanks, as may you be well prosper and find the lessons you came for your spiritual growth.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Sally Jo, thank you. It seems to me that we are put into a material body for the purpose of learning how to use the energies available to a material being while learning how to use those energies properly. Once we learn why we shouldn’t abuse those energies we do have access to, then we can be trusted to use the ones we don’t yet understand or can even detect. Those energies in my opinion are true creative/destructive energies and they will become available to us after we’ve learned to use what we have now. This of course is my own personal theory. Be well and prosper and use your energy with understanding :)

I’m not wishing anything away and if these things can’t be fixed then what’s the use, right? Each one of us can do for ourselves even if we can’t for others. I am part of the solution because I’ve seen people’s lives change when they change their diet to include plenty of fresh uncooked food and plenty of clean water in their diet. How nice for you that you know how everyone is supposed to live and be healthy.

Do you have any suggestions for my Grand-Niece, who has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis? She’s had it since she was 2 years old and she just turned 5. Her Mom, BTW, is a nutritionist. They eat very healthy. BTW, the ACA has relieved my Nieces mind a lot, because it means that my Grand Niece cannot be turned down for insurance.

How about my Niece who was born with severe cerebral palsy? She is now 33, and my sister grows most of their own food.

Or My Mom, another Sister, and myself with degenerative disk disease? Do you have any foods that will help that?

Or the kidney problems that run in one side of my family. I can actually document it. It goes back as far as the US Civil War. Maybe farther, but I can’t document it, and there’s nobody to answer questions about it.

I’m sorry, but you seem to believe that all health problems would be corrected, or simply not happen, as long as we eat healthy. That is simply not true.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

tlgeer, where to start? I’ll start here: every disease including your grand niece’s has a simple cure. That cure won’t be found in the grocery store and may not even be found in a health food store but it can come through proper nutrition. You and most people are even more ignorant than I am about this subject and for sure I’m ignorant.

It doesn’t matter if you believe in evolution or creation about this subject as you seem to have bought into the idea that we have all been dealt a physical body that is deficient in design or evolution so it’s prone to suffer disease. This is most assuredly not true.

There are an estimated 25,000 plant species on this planet. An estimated 5,000 of them are considered edible or medicinal. The vast majority of these 5,000 have yet to be partially or even fully studied and that doesn’t even bring into consideration the other estimated 20,000 plants species. Of that 5,000 edible plants species, 800 of them are known to exist east of the Mississippi River where I live. The people who originally populated this country before our ancestors came here understood the flora and fauna of this nation and were able to provide from it’s bounty to the body so that it could heal itself. No one can heal another person yet. All that can be done is to provide the body with the basic building blocks and it does the rest.

Disease, the state of being “not at ease”, which by the way is a medical definition for disease, is merely the body’s only means of informing us about this deficiency of basic nutrients. We have lost the ability to “hear” what our body’s are telling us so we run to the doctor who does the best he can to “listen” for us. The problem is that doctors are even more ignorant than the average person is about nutrition so they prescribe pills and surgery instead.

There is far too much to teach you here and this is not the format for it. You have to be willing to learn and hopefully you will.

My own experience has taught me quite a lot about listening to my body. I was chronically diseased for the first thirty five years of my life often being very ill for as much a four to six months out of the year. How would you like to live that way? The doctors offered no solutions for me.

One day I was suffering so bad that every hair follicle on my body seemed to be giving me excruciating pain. I prayed and I cried that there had to be a better way of living. My prayer was heard and answered. Two weeks later I was given a book to read by my dad on allergies. The book explained how to discover what was the cause of most allergies and what to do about it. I won’t go into detail here but I will say that I read then applied the information and the cure for thirty five years of agony turned out to be the elimination of three foods from my diet. This has brought me permanent relief from my disease. I’ve had other problems in my sixty years of life and have found nutritional cures for them. Things like arthritis, hemorrhoids and athletes foot infections. It’s great to be able to move without pain, not to have to wear a pad to absorb blood, and not to have itching cracked and bleeding feet. All done through nutrition. I know other people who’s body’s have healed themselves of cancer, diabetes and other diseases through nutrition.

So get an education then apply what you learn and you might just be able to assist your grand niece with her disease; then be well and prosper.

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

        “for sure I’m ignorant”

At least you recognize it. Not to mention arrogant and out of touch with the real world. You know, the one that G-d gave us. With disease.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

tlgeer, if the truth equals arrogance then I’m arrogant. I’m live in the current world and you don’t; you live in the dark ages where you serve several gods. I’ll list two of them: Obama and Satan. YHWH didn’t give us disease we brought it on ourselves but he gave us a way to limit and eliminate disease and you reject him for Satan’s ways. So you, your grand niece and others that follow your line of thinking will be suffer disease unnecessarily because of your willful stupidity. I’d like you to be well and prosper but you won’t do it.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

needfulthings, it is you who is clueless. It seems as if you believe that your president will be the one to save you from yourself? He can’t save you and he won’t. You’ll die a slow horrible death by virtual starvation if you don’t change your attitude.

      • Jim

I’m tired of this crap. With all due respect, you’re an idiot. You don’t know how to write, and you apparently only read what you want to read. The GOP proposed a viable alternative to oblundercare (H.R. 1286) that was completely ignored by the Democratic majority before they shoved oblundercare down our throats. This was a simple document (vs. a 2,300 page nightmare) that eliminated the pre-exisiting condition problem, opened competitive HC insurance across state lines, and instituted tort reform (frivilous malpactice suits that drive up the cost of healthcare. Plus, there are many in the 30M that you claim (it’s really closer to about 17M) that are young and healthy and DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR HEALTHCARE BECAUSE THEY DON’T NEED IT. And I would like to know where you got your statistic that 50M people have deductibles that are half their incomes. That is absurd. Get your facts straight before you start spreading your garbage around.

      • Sally Jo

Healthcare should be an option like auto-care. You can receive full coverage or PLPD. You pay for what you receive. I don’t think employers should have to offer insurance. People need to purchase it on their own, and have a choice. I have not had insurance for 5 years, and I take a different routen that most would not believe in. I am totally healthy. There are more ways to remain healthy than health insurance. If you own a automobile, you must have auto insurance. I know of alot of people who use public transportation to and from work, and therefore should not be forced to purchase auto insurance. Like health insurance, people use other remedies for healthcare, as I feel they should not be penalized if they dnot purchase insurance.

      • Jim

I completely agree. Ride a bike. Walk. Jog. Swim. Hike. Eat healthy. Don’t smoke. Don’t do drugs. Don’t drink excessively. In short, live a healthy live, and stay in shape. Don’t be sedentary. One our biggest killers is diabetes, which in many cases is brought on by being overweight. It can lead to blindness, amputations, and a host of other illnesses which could otherwise be avoided. Being overweight also is terrible for your heart.

Of course there are hereditary illnesses that can’t be avoided, but it is even said that a healthy diet can be a good defense against cancer.

I go to the doctor once a year for an annual check-up and he always gives me the best advice, which is, “keep doing what you are doing.”

That statement just shows how EVIL thee right wing can be, She was married, for whatever reason he left she’s left to pick up the pieces and get on with life. The point here is tens of millions of people are stuck in these dead-end jobs in part because the right gave tax cuts to companies to move their production off shore, under dubya 55,000 factories are gone, Not just closed but empty, because ALL equipment is now in another country, (yes billy boy gets some credit for this too) these jobs are NOT coming back unless the the Dems get a solid majority in the House and Senate. The right wings got nothing to fix this, they don’t care, they caused it, the votes show it! Where did we go when dubya gave TWO tax cuts to the wealthy + 15% capital gains + other tax deals that have corporations that make BILLIONS and paid NO taxes or when we give them more of our money in returns (yes! our money), they paid no taxes so the money they (corps) got back wasn’t a refund. Hi Doug, I work and have my own health insurance but what I find in talking to people is that they are not stupid or greedy but bring up most often that we provide health care, food, weapons, protection and much more for almost every country in the world, so why do we keep doing it and talk about cutting off American citizens that are sick, hungry and at risk? It seems if there is NO money and we are not the wealthiest country in the world that we should quit doing these things and let the wealthiest country in the world take over so we can care for our own citizens who are unfortuneate enough to be unemployed, disabled, under educated and homeless. It is hard for even for me a Blessed, working, educated, home owning (free and clear) citizen to understand how this works. Maybe you ca shed some light on this for me as Dems and Reps alike take care of the world here in America but always taking away from our citizens help programs. Help me to understand how and why this happens. Thanks.

      • Sally Jo

        Lori~
Read the book “Aftershock” by Robert Wiedemer, as it will explain what we are getting. The global crisis we are in will be falling soon. Economists say if you own a home, SELL now before you loose all equity. The bottom will fall as we see it already happening. We cannot judge one another by a home, a job, and a degree. Maybe one came here for NOT that purpose. We ALL have gotten into this together.

      • Lori

Sally Jo, i was asking why in anyone’s opinion, we keep taking care of the people’s of other nations when we keep cutting these same basic need services to our own. If we have no money how and why do we keep doing it. I was actually talking to Doug who was talking about Obamacare so I was simply stating that I don’t really have an opinion on what he was saying as Obamacare does not at this time pertain to me or anyone I know. Then I asked him the same question I just asked you.

    • Lori

      Doug,

Obamacare isn’t free so Palin is right about that. The way I understand it is this. Right now as a person with a job and healthcare, each year my employer’s healthcare rates go up and so mine do also. This is caused by the millions of unemployed that have huge medical bills and no way to pay them. What happens then is hospitals and doctors raise their prices to cover the losses and the people with health insurance suffer with higher rates, deductibles and copays. Obamacare will force people without jobs and/or health insurance to buy health insurance thus protecting the rates insured people have to pay which would include businesses that provide health insurance.

      • http://tlgeer.wordpress.com tlgeer

” What happens then is hospitals and doctors raise their prices to cover the losses and the people with health insurance suffer with higher rates, deductibles and copays.”

“Obamacare will force people without jobs and/or health insurance to buy health insurance thus protecting the rates insured people have to pay which would include businesses that provide health insurance.”

Sorry. Wrong. The ACA premiums will be means tested. If someone cannot afford the premiums they will be asked, using a a means test, to pay for part of it if they can.

People without jobs will not be asked. Neither will the elderly and disabled who live on just SS income.

You might want to read the actual law. Then you would know if what you are being told is a lie or not.

        http://www.healthcare.gov/law/index.html

Alright, tlgeer, I went and read where you sent me. How it works and what it covers has nothing to do with why it was created which exactly like I told you above. Uninsured are bringing down the insured and hospitals and doctors because they leave high bills and someone has to absorb them. If everyone has to have insurance then how could they leave high bills anywhere unpaid? So you say, hospitals and doctors write bad debt off, so where do you think that comes from, tax payer money. So any way you look at it insured and tax payers pay for uninsured people’s unpaid hospital/doctor debt. One way or another something has to be done to cover uninsured individuals debts.
