The Spread Of Violence

The Spread Of Violence

Syrian protesters burn a portrait of President Bashar Assad.

Four years ago, Barack Obama convinced millions of Americans that he would unite the country and the world. He has failed. Inside America, as well as around the world, there is a huge divide between what people want and what they have. In places like the Mideast and Africa, it is a bloody divide. The question many people want answered is: Will violence come to America? It seems possible given global events, terrible leadership and a wrecked economy.

Many people expected more from Obama, the son of Christian and Muslim parents. Barack Obama Sr. was a Luo from Nyang’oma Kogelo, Nyanza Province, Kenya. With African heritage and an Ivy League education, this President may understand the world and hope that he could reduce the ongoing tribal wars in Africa and, more recently, in the Mideast. But more than three years after Obama took office, violence in large tracts of the world has reached pandemic proportions.

Why Every Liberal Should Visit Africa

As a teenager, I had liberal ideals. My father, who had traveled often to Africa and the Mideast, told me that I could not speak intelligently on those regions and their peoples until I had been there. I got my opportunity in 1990 when I spent one month traveling through South Africa with my uncle.

When we arrived in April, apartheid was on the verge of collapsing. Nelson Mandela was about to be released from prison, and many people in the country were bracing for a civil war. The situation had become so dire that the 747 on which we flew to Cape Town was almost empty. (On the way back to London, every seat was taken.)

I took the trip because my father’s subscribers had much of their money invested in South African gold mining stocks. If those companies were nationalized, many of the newsletter’s subscribers stood to lose a lifetime of profits. It was a trip I had to take.

Because of a world boycott, the South African government and businesses were desperate for anyone to report on what they thought was positive change. Doors were thrown open to us that would have been under lock and key five years earlier.

Our first meeting was with South Africa’s ambassador to the United Nations. Another meeting was with one of the richest men in South Africa. His penthouse office looked out over Cape Town.

During our visit, there was a fear that persisted throughout the country. A few weeks before our arrival, savage fighting had erupted between Nelson Mandela’s African National Congress supporters and the rival Zulu-based Inkatha Freedom Party, led by Chief Mangosuthu G. Buthelezi. It started when thousands of Zulus were forced out of their homes in ANC-loyal areas of the province of Natal.

History records that 1990 had the bloodiest clashes in modern South African history. I witnessed some of it in the streets of Johannesburg and in the gold mines where warring tribesmen fought.

The Darkness Is Spreading

Violence is as old as humanity in Africa. Joseph Conrad understood that when he wrote Heart of Darkness in 1899.

In that novella Conrad wrote: “He (Kurtz) declared he would shoot me unless I gave him the ivory and then cleared out of the country, because he could do so, and had a fancy for it, and there was nothing on earth to prevent him killing whom he jolly well pleased.”

To see how little Africa changed during the 20th century you only have to read the book (also made into a movie) The Bang-Bang Club: Snapshots from a Hidden War. It is the true story of four photojournalists who covered the violence in South Africa from 1990 to 1994. It was during this period that the country transitioned away from apartheid. It explains the fighting between ANC and IFP supporters.

That was the South Africa that I saw, and it was a story the Western media weren’t telling.

The Spread of Violence

Two decades later, major media groups are doing little to cover the violence that has spilled into North Africa — most notably in Libya and Egypt. And with the falling of one dictator after another, it appears that the Mideast is settling in for a long period of bloodshed.

The violence in Syria has left more than 12,000 dead since March 2011, while tens of thousands of people are homeless. Two weeks ago, in the town of Houla more than 100 people were killed. The United Nations says government forces went house to house and slaughtered men, women and 49 children.

This violence has happened during Obama’s watch as the leader of the free world. So far, he has provided no leadership and no solutions as to how America can stop mass murder. Will Obama slow down this violence? If he cannot, social discourse will spread further out of Africa and beyond the borders of the Mideast.

We have already seen rioting in Europe and even in a couple of North American cities. To date, public outrage is relatively mild; but it won’t remain that way unless the economy starts to grow.

That is the prediction of Wall Street insider Charles Ortel, who warned earlier this year that a worsening economic picture across the globe will see civil unrest hit the streets of America, not on behalf of leftist Occupy Wall Street groups, but by an armed “irascible and vocal Majority.”

Ortel, a managing partner with Newport Value Partners, LLC in New York City, predicted that a crisis in the financial markets will precipitate “a widespread civil insurrection and cross-border war.”

Ortel believes Americans’ access to firearms will cause riots to be bloodier than anything seen in Europe.

Out Of Africa

I remember how happy I was sitting on that plane when it lifted off the runway and I knew that the start of my 45-hour return journey had begun. Today, I don’t like the thought that violence may have followed me halfway around the world. And just as I took precautions during my trip to not do anything stupid (like leave the hotel at night), I also believe it is essential to take precautions at home while we still have the chance.

It is a sucker’s bet to think that the President or the Federal government will protect us and the ones we love. It is up to us to take the steps we must take to protect ourselves.

Yours in good times and bad,

To repeat what Clarlon mentioned earlier. To say that O’s mother was a “Christian” because she was not a Muslem is close to saying Hitler was a “Christian” because he wasn’t a Jew. Come on folks, let’s remember that attending a church does not make one a Christian anymore than a mouse in a cookie jar is a cookie.
    Dr. M

    • eddie47d

A banker with his hands in the Wall Street cookie jar doesn’t make him a cookie either!

    • Karolyn

So I guess we should rename those people who go to church and proclaim themselves to be Christians but who are not REAL Christians? What do you want to call them? Pseudo-Christians? THEY call themselves Christian and believe themselves to be Christian. No one has the right to tell them they are not! It’s like I learned a long time ago no one can truthfully say someone is an alcoholic. It is up to that person to label him or herself as such.

      • MAP

Karolyn, I would advise you to read your Bible. Everything is explained there. There is more wisdom to be found there than in all other writings, in all of history combined. Of course you doubt this. You are a liberal. Know that the Bible doesn’t create nor condone bad men. Sin does.

      • Karolyn

I don’t believe the Bible mentions the word “Christian”, does it? You are missing my point. And, yes, I have read some of the Bible. It’s a good book with many lessons. However, my interpretation of a lot of things tends to differ from yours.

      • http://disqus.com/jims33 jims33

It’s thought that the leaders of the early church new that people were calling them Christians but didn’t promote the use of the name themselves. One more thing, the original languages of the bible didn’t necessarily translate to all the English words we use so a single word not showing up in today’s bibles doesn’t mean much. The word “rapture doesn’t appear but linguists will tell you that the Greek work rapturo is there….jf…

      • T i m

As has been said , the word CHRISTIAN is not in the NEW TESTAMENT . I am a beleiver in JESUS CHRIST . That is what Paul said when he was in prison . The word Christian is an action word . Christianity is a culture . Obama flew al over the world during last campaign , apologizing to alll AMERICA’S ALLIES , for the hypocracy and arrogance of AMERICA . It was advertised on the world news is why I know about it . WHY DID AMERICAN CONGRESS NOT STOP HIM . ….. RON PAUL HAS DECLARED HIS FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST , in his personal blog . Mitt Romney is a Mormon . Why are we complaining about Obama being a Muslim . …..THERE IS A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO AMERICAN ECONOMY . ……………………RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT .

      • eddie47d

Big men apologize for their mistakes and the damage they have inflicted on others. Small minded men find new ways to bully an adversary and drag others into their squabbles. We’ve had too many Presidents in the White House who are no more than gang leaders enticing the world to join their cause. If they don’t they will be castigated to irreverence on the world scene. Germany and Japan were prime examples of world bullies and we became the hero. Now we are little different than what they would have done and have become the aggressor.

      • MAP

Karolyn, you merely create your own religion, just as liberals ‘interpret’ the constitution and, thereby, create a wholly different and contradictory document. ALL things are to overthrown in persuit of utopia, aka death and oppression.

  • Nottakenyan

If you want to learn about hatred, prejudice, and racism, read the two books written by the illegal, lying Kenyigar. Two of America’s biggest racists are sleeping in the White House.
Jackson, Sharpton, Wright, and the Obamas are not here for the good of America!!!

  • JimK

I don’t totally agree with this new letter and its financial warnings.
I think it is bad to stir the pot at this time. Our biggest problem today is the lack of honesty and courage our leadership display daily.

This country has the ability to ride out even the toughest issues. The state of Wisconsin just displayed great fortitude and the public unions have just experienced a massive set-back

If we can throw the progressive thugs by the wayside this year it is not too late to right the ship

    God Bless America

We have been lied to, by the Leaders in both parties, for a very long time, Jim.

THE PRESIDENT’S INEFFECTIVENESS IS DUE TO RACE. VIOLENCE IN AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST MEANS LITTLE TO PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES WHO ARE FINANCIALLY SUFFERING. WHEN I SEE THE PRESIDENT ON TELEVISION, HE IS DISCUSSING ONE OF THREE ISSUES – WAR/TERRORISM, FOREIGN POLICY AND TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF HEALTH-CARE REFORM. THE PRESIDENT IS OUT-OF-TOUCH WITH THE NEGRO COMMUNITY. NEGROES WANTED THE ILLINOIS SENATOR TO WIN IN 2008 SO HE COULD HELP “black” AMERICA. HE HAS DONE A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y NOTHING FOR “black” AMERICA. THE PRESIDENT TAKES THE NEGRO COMMUNITY FOR GRANTED BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE HAS ITS UNFAILING SUPPORT, DUE TO HIS SKIN-COLOR. THE PRESIDENT HAS SOLE FOCUS ON CONCERNS OF CAUCASIAN DEMOCRATS. FOR PROOF, REVIEW HIS STATEMENT ON SUPPORT OF “gay” MARRIAGE – WHICH WAS AIMED DIRECTLY AT CAUCASIAN DEMOCRATS. HE K-N-O-W-S CAUCASIAN DEMOCRATS ARE HIS “BACKBONE.” WITHOUT THEM, HE KNOWS HE WILL NOT BE RE-ELECTED. MY POINT IS, THE PRESIDENT HAS A “WISHY-WASHY” ADMINISTRATION BECAUSE HE IS TRYING TO MAKE CAUCASIAN DEMOCRATS HAPPY BY TELLING THEM WHAT HE THINKS THEY WANT TO HEAR. IT IS THE D-U-T-Y OF REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS TO KEEP THE PRESIDENT “IN-CHECK.” THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HAS MADE HISTORY BY ELECTING A “COLORED” PRESIDENT. THIS HISTORICAL LANDMARK SHOULD NOT – INDEED, MUST NOT – MEAN THIS PRESIDENT DESERVES FOUR MORE YEARS.

    CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON

      Dear Mr. Horton again:

“Four years ago, Barack Obama convinced millions of Americans that he would unite the country and the world”

Maybe he is closer to keeping this promise than most people realize.
He is aiding the muslim brotherhood, supplying arms to fringe groups, seeks UN agenda 21, the LOST treaty, and undoubtly many more such ideas Americans have no knowledge of and with his democrat socialists and supporters like ketchup kerry, hag hillary and a number of others he just might keep his sick promise….The one consolation I have in my mine is once these puppets accomplish the agenda 21 mission they will be eliminated~~~(((PPOOOFFFF!!))) as no longer necessary, sick people they are indeed….live under capitolism and enjoy all it gives only to destroy it so their children can live in a poor diseased third world country. Apparently these people were absent and missed History 101.

      ” ((( PPOOOFFFF ))) as in not necessary ”
Perhaps people like Paul Krugman are encouraged by George Soros. He aided the Nazis to round up his fellow Countryman, specifically his own race, confiscate their belongings, torture and kill them and managed to escape not only with his worthless hide, but also with his loot!

      • eddie47d

Now that was overly dramatic and I really doubt if a 14 year old boy got away with any “loot” and may not even have understood the consequences. .

  • Mike Steindorf

It will be as in the “days of Noah” according to the Bible. We’re almost there!

    • Dagger

Mike, you are right on target. Actually, it will get even worse than it was in the “days of Noah”. Jesus Christ said there would never be a time like the coming tribulation and Day of the Lord before or after this horrible time that is almost upon us. The Good News is there is a better world coming after the tribulation and Day of God’s wrath. The Kingdom of God is coming when Christ returns soon!!!

Anarchy lies just over the horizon !!!

king oblama learned violence as a boy in the country that he was born in KENYA.
It is no wonder that he does nothing but sit on his hands with his finger up his ass.

    • http://Yahoo Maynard

Obama was a boy in Indonesia in the time of the violent overthrow of Sukarno by Suharto. His family on both sides appear to have CIA connections. The CIA have used violence and assassinations here and abroad whenever they feel it is advantageous. Obama shows no hesitation to use drone attacks which kill indiscriminately. He also claims the right to assassinate US citizens without due process. This is the incipient development of a full-blown Police State. Congress just appropriated (by an overwhelming majority) $63 BILLION for development of domestic drones to intimidate, incarcerate and/or assassinate.
      BOTH political parties are complicit.
9/11 was an inside job as were the anthrax letters.(How else do you explain the White House insiders SECRETLY starting risky anti- anthrax antibiotics THREE WEEKS BEFORE the first known threat?????? )
The Oklahoma City bombings were not by a single truck bomb. The interior structural damage was too extensive for that truck bomb outside to have done it all. Furthermore, other unexploded bombs were clearly observed (onlookers and rescuers were repeatedly rushed away because bomb squads were removing additional unexploded devices). This was reported by the local news (just as in 9/11 when firefighters and others reported additional bombs going off) but soon were “hushed up” by the FEDS.
The “terrorist” bombings were used to get legislation passed to start the process of encroachment on our civil rights, just as 9/11 (“Homeland” Security) and NDAA 2012 have continued.
There is ample evidence the ’93 WTC bombing, which killed 6 and cost billions in property damage was foisted on the “terrorists” by the FBI who were secretly recorded supplying real explosives. Look it up. The Egyptian intermediary between the FBI and the “terrorists” is named Salem .It was reported in the MEDIA but people were not paying attention.
Thank goodness the Internet gives us access to the original reporting. Don’t count on that going on much longer. The government is trying to think of ways to cut it off.

  • eddie47d

No man wants to be enslaved by another man or nation and that includes South Africa. Apartheid was terribly wrong and so was American slavery. The British and the Dutch were the Elites of South Africa and the local populace were always held back and treated like they had no business in their own country. Foreign powers choose to have absolute authority over South African natives and that created the division that regulated those citizens to 3rd world status.

    Am I missing something here?
In case you werent aware,America has been a battleground for decades now.
Roving gropus of teens to adults are living and preying upon the folks in their communities.
    They call themselves gangs.
They murder each other and people not affiliated with them at quite a pace.
    Will violence come to America?
Its already here pal.Tribal warfare at its finest.ith some really “educated by marxist:” folks driving the bus.
Stone tossing and garbage can spilling aside, the college crowd doesnt really know violence here. They are too busy protesting about losing their entitlements. It is the same in the crowds you see that are driven by leftists, which you see on the newscast. They dont have many instances of people mowing them down with machineguns yet to go by.

The violent are here waiting for that day when TSHTF.Biding their time they wait to take action. The average citizen has no real hope because they have become islands to themselves in our modern society.Gone are the days of community militia. How can you fight alongside someone you hardly know,if you are facing folks who have shared a criminal past so deep that it defies all logic?
    Thats a tough question.
But most Americans dont realize that if that type of violence occurs, they may be in store for some quick lessons in humility.Band together to have a more viable protective environment folks.Get to know your neighbor better. That is sound advise no matter who you are or where you live. All are responsible for making their environment a safe and secure one.
If you rely on gubment, you WILL be disappointed.
Have a plan and make a stand.Dont let the criminal element control your environment,or you will suffer greatly. It doesnt matter if it comes from street thugs or gubment.
Its YOUR life that is affected,so make sure you are prepared to do what is necessary to keep your livelihood intact.Ignore the media/academia and their obvious allegiance to progressivism and do what is best to protect what is yours,
You can be damn sure that the gubment wont.
    Cheers!
    -CC.

    • Steve E

      Well said cawmun cents

      • http://Yahoo Maynard

Sorry Cawmun, but contemporary gangs in the US have nothing to do with Marxist ideology or any other political philosophy. They have existed for generations and originally manifested as different ethnic groups banding together to defend themselves against each other. There were Jewish, Irish and even Italian gangs in large cities like NY and Chicago. As these groups were supplanted in the inner cities, black and Hispanic gangs came to predominate. The money making aspects originally centered around alcohol, gambling, prostitution and theft but now are primarily from illegal drugs and illegal gun sales. Fights to control turf have led to extensive violence and have carried over into prisons. To live in a gang’s stronghold is very difficult for young people who do not want to be affiliated or who join and then want to leave. It can be a death sentence.

Because unemployment is rampant in the inner cities, the only ways to make”Big” money involve illegal activities such as drug sales. The cocaine epidemic, in the form of crack, took place according to Michael Ruppert, formerly of the LA Police Dept., because of CIA importations turned over to local police for distribution. Drug addiction, of course, leads to much additional crime, because addictions cause individuals to do whatever they can to stave off the effects of withdrawals. While Clinton was governor of Arkansas there are many who claim that cocaine was trafficked in to remote air strips. This was reportedly done through federal and state collusion. The profits were used to fund the Contras in their violent attempts to take over the Nicaraguan,s elected government.

You need to stop thinking in the old patterns because, as I repeatedly claim, the government is controlled not by Liberals and Conservatives, but different cliques cooperating with the military-industrial-financial power brokers for their continued enrichment and increase in power. BOTH political parties have banded together to use the fears of the public as a tool to take away our Constitutional rights, including the right to bear arms, the right to due process, the right to assembly and free speech.
As long as we look at each other as the enemy rather than at the selfish power brokers, we are easy to control. So all of you who rant against Progressives, Liberals, Democrats, Conservatives, Republicans or Fascists are doing the power structure a big favor. First and Foremost, we must concern ourselves with preserving our Constitutional rights, not with worrying about the government being too rightist or leftist. It won’t matter when we have no more freedoms.
“He who gives up Freedom for Security deserves neither.” Ben Franklin

I’ve sensed and stated for several years now that we wIll have anarchy here. I lIve In the cIty of Atlanta. BTW, Obama’s mother and her parents were communist, not Christian. The two are mutually exclusIve, IMO.

By this so-called president’s stand on illegal aliens and his dismissal of any proof of citizenship to vote, he is stating that future elections will be conducted with voter fraud counted as legitimate and fair practice. Is this not unprecedented in our history? Sure, voter fraud has always been present. In fact, I believe voter fraud placed this scoundrel in the WH to begin with. But has it ever been declared to be a legitimate part of the voting process, to be done in the open and accepted as normal? Isn’t this like saying that lying, cheating, and stealing are legitimate and honorable acts? The Obamanation has set a new low water mark for our morality as a people. Unless people rise up, we can only go further downhill from here. And I’m sure the Obamanation would be more than happy to take us.

Obama wants to destroy this country. AND HE KNOWS the only way he can do it is by dividing it, so that is his intent. It wants to divide it so much that he will be able to call martial law and become permanent dictator. Then he and Soros will rule. Obama just thinks he will rule but he is a puppet for Soros. And if he does not do as Soros says he too will be gone.

    • eddie47d

It could also be said that every Conservative should visit Africa and see how their policies of exploitation changed the face of that continent. How they took the wealth and carted it back to Europe leaving the locals poorer than they were to begin with. Most Africans were hunters and gatherers and some farming. Colonialism only gave a few opportunity and the rest became DEPENDANT on their colonial “benefactors” (their new government). Self reliance for the natives became a thing of the past.

The reason there will be violence is because those who thought hope and change meant that even more of them would be receiving more and more food stamps and entitlements without ever trying to get a job, are not getting as much as they want, so they lie, cheat, steal, kill, rob, riot, loot for more. This country is running out of other people’s monies. The so called entitlements of social security and medicare is paid into by the people the problem is, congress took control of these programs and spent the money and now has to budget for them every year, this is what turned them into entitlements. Government control and all the overhead and spending IS the reason for America’s plight.

      • http://Yahoo Maynard

We agree about Ron Paul for President, but you should know that Ron Paul is for phasing out Social Security, not eliminating it. We have paid into it all our working lives and we ARE entitled to a return. It is paid up for another twenty years but the power elite has been dipping into it.
Since the super wealthy have controlled the flow of tax dollars into their coffers through war profiteering (Viet Nam, Gulf WAR, Iraq, Afghanistan) by manufacturing not only arms but the false rationale for wars (Gulf of Tonkin, Incubator Babies, 9/11, anthrax letters, CIA creations called al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, etc), housing market manipulations (Savings & Loan Banking destruction in the ’80′s, Wall Street mortgage gambles and bailouts (2008 , 2009 under BOTH Bush and Obama), Tax burden shifted to middle class, Federal Reserve using our dollars for elite profiteering).
WE face a time when fewer and fewer own more and more of the nation’s wealth. Did they get it solely because they earned it? No, they used their control of politicians by election contributions and well-funded lobbyists who often move back and forth from government to lobbying. They have prevented the sensible move from fossil fuels which they monopolize to renewables which are widely available and cannot be withheld (the sun, wind, geothermal, hydrogen in every drop of water are all widely available).
These people and corporations in control are not Liberals or Conservatives. They are profiteers who use party labels to make us feel we have alternatives. They manipulate the public and gain support from those who are unaware of their machinations.

Wake Up! BOTH parties are robbing the people.Overwhelming bipartisan support passed NDAA 2012 to shred our Constitutional Rights and to appropriate $63 BILLION for domestic drones to intimidate, incarcerate and even kill us here at home.

P.S. FOOD STAMPS and WELFARE are a pittance compared to the amount we spend on “HOMELAND SECURITY” and UNNECESSARY WARS and MILITARY BASES around the world.)

      • http://disqus.com/jims33 jims33

Tim, thousands of people in this country are disabled or retired and all we get is our government checks. Most of us worked very hard for many years (me 40) for these befits with the PROMISE that there would be money there when we needed it. .that promise for benefits is the reason it’s called ENTITLEMENTS, because we paid in a lot of money with guaranteed benefits when needed. so you can quit throwing everyone in the welfare basket because many have paid our way, and get very little in return.

jims33, I can understand if you’re feeling angst concerning your economic welfare? Why would anybody trust a politician to tell the truth? There is no such thing as a perfectly safe investment which includes investing into a government system. All investments, whether it is claimed that they are entitlements or not, are just that: investments. The system will go broke and when it does it’ll have to find a way to eliminate or reduce benefits.

I feel that part of society’s problem stems from the feeling that we don’t have to be personally involved in each others welfare as we pay taxes or paid into a system that is supposed to alleviate the necessity for personal involvement. I feel confident that good Americans will always find a way to help those who can’t help themselves and when the system finally does break down that this is exactly what will happen. I know I wouldn’t let my father. mother, brothers or sisters go homeless or hungry as long as I had anything to help with and I’m sure that many feel the same way I do. Someone will help you make it if you can’t make it one your own.

And yes, your social security benefits are considered by the government to be a part of a welfare system.

jms33, YOU ARE MISSING MY POINT COMPLETELY . 1 st , SOCIAL SECURITY WAS NEVER INTENDED FOR SENIOR ADULTS TO LIVE ON . ….SOCIAL SECURITY WAS CREATED FOR THE WELFARE POPULATION . Do not depend on the government for your retirement . HANDLE YOUR OWN AFFAIRS . …….. RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT .

      • truesoy

        Tim;

I just want to touch on the “don’t depend on the government for your retirement, handle your own affairs”, vote for Ron Paul, part of your post.

        1) Social Security/Medicare came about because people could not handle their affairs as individuals, and therefore they did it as a group with ‘their’ government as the administrator of the plan.
This makes more sense than giving all your hard earned money to the CEO of xyz corp, and then waking up one day to find out that while your money went up in smoke ‘Big Joe CEO’ left the building with millions of your money. And then what do you do, start all over again? No, you won’t be able if you your ‘advance age’ don’t allow it.
I’ll tell you what you’ll do in that case, you go to the government for a ‘hand out’, oh yes you will, because you are not going to starve nor stay homeless.
This is what exactly happened in 2008 when the banks went bankrupt, except it was not the people running to the government for a ‘hand out’, it was the banks, thereby savings all that was left of your 401k plans.
Yes Tim, the ‘evil’ government came to your rescue, and/or to a family member’s retirement account. Can you imagine the fate of millions of senior citizens if, as you believe, there was no SS/Medicare?
Libertarians have stop fooling themselves and others into thinking of government as an ‘extra-terrestrial’ institution for it is not. There is a role and purpose for government, otherwise what would be the reason for society to finance it?.
Ask Ron Paul, and the likes of Ron Paul why, is government is such an ‘evil institution’, they spend so much time and money either trying to get into, and/or trying to stay in it?, you know, they spend millions on that effort, and most become millionaires by government position
They enjoy socialized medicine compliments of the taxpayers, but oppose it for everyone else
They believe the government should not be responsible forour children education while they benefited from public education (Ron Paul attended public High School).
I will like to go on, but it would be too long a post for now, if not, I would explain to you Medicare and universal health care, and so on, and on.
        Keep in touch.

        Sincerely,
        Truesoy

i agree 100 percent to this message.

      • truesoy

        Jonathon Parker;

Many of the people posting on this site have a concept of government and tis role, that if it was to be apply here we’ll make a ‘Somalia’ out of the United States. No government, little or no taxes and therefore little or no education, dirt cheap wages (unless you hook yourself a job with the pirates, and that can be dangerous), little or no infrastructures, and everyone fends for themselves.
Oh yeah, a real ‘libertarian/republican/t-party utopia.

        Sincerely,
        Truesoy

      • truesoy

        Katrae;

I can see you are still drinking out of the ‘wishing well’, but things don’t work exactly that way.
Entitlements are entitlements because you earned it, in other words the people that paid into SS are entitled to it, and the same goes for Medicare.
Although government investments should be safe, there is always the worry of the wrong people with the wrong ideas and/or the wrong concept about the government’s role and/or its purpose, getting elected and screwing it up for everyone.
That, I mentioned because you’ve been conditioned to believe ‘the conservative republican’ fable and fairy tales.
And no; your Social Security benefits are not part of the ‘welfare system’ as its envision by you.
And since you believe that somebody, other than the government, will help in a time of need, I want you to try that next time you go to the doctor/hospital without insurance and see what happens.
Maybe now you’ll understand why people collectively finance a government. Keep in mind that a government is a ‘tool’ of the people; and is not the people a ‘tool’ of the government as propose by conservatives for all intents and purposes.

        Sincerely,
        Truesoy

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

truesoy, you need a new dictionary. An entitlement is only and act of law. Notice the “title” part of entitlement? A title is a written document and so are entitlements. These are written into law, not because you worked for them but only because they’ve been promised to you by law. I know people who haven’t paid into the system enough to be “entitled” to anything but they still get them.

      • truesoy

        Katrael;

True, there are people that have not pay enough into the system, and get some of it.
Some of these people deserve it, and some don’t, obviously. Just like people that paid all their life and die, and never get to collect; but that is not different from any other insurance plan.
SS/Medicare is an ‘insurance plan’. In the case of ‘Medicare’ most people pay for 40 – 50 years of their life before they could use it at age 65 for the last 10 to 15 years of their lives.
And just like any toher insurance plan that you pay into it, you are entitle to the benefits of the plan.
I don’t know your age, but you’ll learn to appreciate it as soon as you become of age.

        Sincerely,
        Truesoy

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

truesoy, I’m sixty retired and have NO income and have no plans to utilize those benefits at this time. Who knows, things may change?

      • truesoy

        Katrael,

Everyone ‘hopes’ not to use those services, but that doesn’t mean one should not have a plan just in case; for if something was to happened, like a catastrophic accident and/or illness, someone will have to pay, either you or your insurance company, or the government if you have no insurance and no money.
Sometimes the problem is not that people don’t want to purchase insurance, but that they simply have no money (you say you have no money), and or they have a pre-existing condition that makes then uninsurable. This is a good reason for supporting the health care reform signed into law by President Obama, although I’ve much rather preferred an ‘universal plan’, or the ‘public option’ that offered people the choice from where to buy.
I just don’t understand why we are the only industrialized nation that don’t have a universal plan. Even Israel, a nation we admire so much and want to copy in many ways, has ‘socialized medicine’.
The silver lining in your case is that once you reach 65, if you haven’t yet, medicare will take care of your medical. This is why it is so important for people to oppose the privatization of medicare.
Let me tell you what medicare actually is:
Medicare is a ‘health insurance plan’ for which most people pay into for 40 to 50 years of their lives so that at age 65 they would have health care coverage for the next 10 to 15 of their lives. That’s it.
Medicare is unique in that unlike any other healthcare plan you are not covered the month following your approval, you have topay for years instead, and even after you are medicare eligible you will continue to pay a monthly premium deducted from your SS check.

        Sincerely,
        Truesoy

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

truesoy, I didn’t say I didn’t have a plan. I’ve been planning much of what I’m doing since I was 19 and it’s working for me. I can’t support something that I know will take away all freedom of choice and it seems like you’re assuming that the allopathic medical profession is the correct way to go?

The system as it exists now has to treat people who aren’t ambulatory so if a person gets into an accident that has to be carried in they have to treat them regardless of their ability to pay. Is this a good or correct thing? Yes it is. Who has to pay for it? The system does. The reasons I don’t support a totally centralized form of health care is that the central system that supports a certain treatment today may withhold that treatment in the future. In other words, the centralized system takes the power of decision out of the hands of the individual and places it in the hands of a limited bureaucracy who dictate every aspect of our health for us. One source has Obama’s plan at 2,358 pages. answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=

Another source has it this way: “The Senate version of the healthcare bill is 2074 pages and the House version is 1990.” http://www.chacha.com/question/how-many-pages-long-is-obamas-health-care-plan

I don’t know who is correct? I just know that there is no way for anyone to fully understand the monster. It sounds like every minor and major medical decision is already predetermined for us.

This isn’t health reform as much as it’s health dictatorship.

      • truesoy

        Katrael;

I understand your fears of centralized health system; and on that I know you are referring to one administered by the government.
On the other hand I have a different opinion. I believe the people would have more control over their health care if administered by the government, and not a CEO. Why is that?, because in our representative democracy the people have a ‘say’ in government policy. But, in the present insurance system, not even share holders have a voice.
However because many people feel the way you do, probably the best way to go is a ‘public option’ hereby people get to choose whether they want their government as the plan administrator, or the insurance company. This would be true freedom of choice for everyone.
A ‘public option’, and/or even a ‘universal plan’ is nothing more than ‘the people’s collective financial effort to self-insured’, much the same as many large corporations do because it sves them money and gives them more control over the plan.
And as for your fear of a centralized health system that will deny you treatment?, we already have that in our current ‘private insurance industry ‘ran’ health care system.
On paper there are untold numbers of insurance carriers, but only on paper. The reality is that most of those companies have been taken over by the bigger companies and only in name they exist. There is no more competition in the insurance industry.
CEO’s and medical boards in the insurance industy make the decisions pertaining to your health care. The doctors suggest the treatment, and the board approves, or maybe not approve. And you have no recourse.
You can’t go across the street to the other company because now, you have a ‘pre-existing medical condition’ that makes you uninsurable. Or depending on the condition, they could sell you a policy that explicitly excludes treatment for such condition and anything related and/or as a result of it.
An insurance company can cancel your medical policy for any reason deemed necessary to safeguard its profit margin; unlike an universal plan and/or public option administered by the government; eg., Medicare insurance that is always there (unles Paul Ryan gets his way).
Other people are concern about their privacy. But there is none. Any and all insurance companies have access to everyone’s medical records, and the minute you apply for insruance most companies will go into it for underwriting. A few companies wait until you file a claim to do so. The downside to that is that if they declined the claim you’ll be stock with the emergency room bill.
How do the companies access one’s medical history/records?
It is called the MIB (medical information bureau). There is stored everything from the aspirin the doctor gave you and all other treatments you may have received and/or were recommended to have done, till the day you die.
In reality it makes no sense to buy a product from a seller if the seller (insurance company) can only make money (turn a profit) if the buyer does not use the product.
Tell me, would you use UPS and/or Fedex services if they could only make money on packages not delivered?

        Sincerely,
        Truesoy

        Jonathon Parker,

Katrael failure lies in not understanding the difference between a representative democracy as ours, and lets say, the government of North Korea.
        That is my opinion.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

truesoy, I don’t believe I used the word fear when it comes to the government and the healthcare issue. If I did I shouldn’t have because I don’t fear this government. I just don’t trust it. This governments trend is toward more and more regulation and those regulations don’t always concern only registered businesses.

Out of curiosity I decided to find out how many laws were passed in one year and there were over 6000 different items that had been passed dealing with many things including a frivolous resolution to make a day of recognition for some Jewish guy. But, lets just say that the Senate and House passed only one hundred new laws for the year then 100 the next and so on. Those are all new laws added to the mountain of old ones. Some old laws get repealed, but most laws remain in effect.

Then you add to that new State laws and this whole mess becomes unmanageable except for what they want to enforce when they want to enforce them. None of these laws grant freedom to anybody they only restrict our freedom.

Truesoy, imagine that your freedom is represented by the house and yard you live in. Each new law that is added is like adding another fence to the already existing fence. Eventually you will have no room in the yard to move in for all of the fences. One day you find there is no more yard at all and now they are adding fences inside the house. Eventually there is no room to move in the house either. What do you do? That’s the way I see this system becoming. Be well and prosper.

      • truesoy

        Katrael;
I see your point. Too many laws could be troublesome. But what does that have to do with health care reform that guarantees acces to health care for all?

        Sincerely,
        Truesoy

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

truesoy, don’t be obtuse. Do you really believe that it’s necessary to have 1000, 1100, 1200 or 2000 pages of legislation to grant everyone access to health care? I can do it in seven words: “I grant everyone free access to healthcare.” One page one sentence and not even one real paragraph. Simple to understand and enforce. What’s hidden in a document that is over 1000 pages long couched in terms that require an NWO dictionary? I hope that it’s only you that has to live with this monster because I don’t want it. Truesoy, be well and prosper.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Jonathon Parker, I believe that what you’re saying is correct about our government and the Bilderber group. I call this arrangement the “BIG” which stands for Big Industry and Government. I say industry because I view the banking system as industry and I don’t think you can separate the Banks from big manufacturing industries.

      • http://Jonathonjoseph@aol.com Jonathon Parker

I agree with you fully. Anyone who believes that our politicians will save we the people from any thing are total fools. Everything Obama says are nothing but lies. And all politicians on both sides are nothing but servants for the Bilderberg group. That group is installing the New World Order at the present time. They have been in full control for years.

I, too, wish it was that simple, but this is what happens when you have come up with answers to satisfy every whimsical demand from everyone, for their ‘ what and if’s, and the what about’ . However, it still won’t satisfy those that feel there are 1000 too many pages in the legislation.
Katrael, you can’t please everyone. The best one can do is please as many as possible; and hope everyone else will follow, eventually.

        Gary;

…another one from the ‘looney bin’!…what’s new?

truesoy, as far as needing medical assistance? Even if there weren’t laws that require hospitals to treat people in emergencies I know my family would help and so would the good people in my community. That’s what good people do: they help each other…that is those who deserve to be help and not just the ones who are dead beats.

      • truesoy

        Katrael;

So you really buy the idea your neighbor, and or family will mortgage their home, empty their bank account, cash in their annuity, and all to pay for your $250,000.00 hospital/medical bill? oh yes, a medical condition could cost that and much, much more. And then what about your long term care and rehab, who is going to pay after you left everyone in your family destitute?
…and what then when they eed to pay for their medical care, or a child’s?. Yes Katrael, I want to hear rom you on that one.
But after all is done and said, you won’t go that route because, 1) you wouldn’t want to financially ruin your family, and 2) they won’t.
But I’m sure you suspect that at a minimum, and if you don’t, then, you are either NAIVE, very naive, and/or very STUPID. And that is the truth.
….:*** and, if after a major medical condition you try to buy insurance, you’ll be DECLINED, for you now have a ‘pre-existing medical condition’. ****(at least until Obama’s health careform becomes effective and thenno insurance company will be allow to decline you)***

        Sincerely,
        Truesoy

I agree with many statements you make but there are many in trouble because of medical and many loose their homes because of no help. I am a vet with 100% so I get medical and because the va is allowed to negotiate for medicines they get a much lower price as theBush family does not make a kick back. ( many others do as well ) The people who wish to live in past until they are affected are against help. I am no longer a christian but the early case of socialism is in Paul’s writings about the people putting all together and waiting for Christ to return. It failed then and now as does capitalism as we practice it. We need something better but I am not smart enough to know what.

      • truesoy

        Ivan Boatwright;

        You do prove my point.
You enjoy ‘socialized’ medicine by virtue of being a 100% disable vet, although that could be of little consolation depending on the nature of your disability; but it doesn’t take away from the fact that medical care at 100% is available to you.
Your only drawback would be if you don’t have tricare because then you’ll be limited only to the VA, not because you would want to change provider, but because it gives you other options if you so need.
Conservatives have been condition to an aversion about anything ‘government’. They should understand this is not North Korea, this is the U.S., and we have a representative democracy, and that government has a role and a purpose, other than defense.

        Sincerely,
        Truesoy

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

truesoy, you’re so right about that $250,000.00. We don’t need Obama care as we already have that covered. Most states offer insurance to those who can’t get it privately. I’m not worried about it. I might do what one of my family members did. they just cashed out.

Emme, I am a 76 year old white southern male who wanted change from what the last Republican administration was doing to “my” country. There were two wars I didn’t agree with for various reasons, my “savings” were in jeopardy and my fellow citizens were losing their jobs at the rate 2.1 million a year. So when it came time to cast my ONE VOTE and speak my mind, I voted for change, Since then, one war is stopped with the dying and the cost, the other Should be dying at a faster rate than promised. The job loss rate is down from 600,000 a month, the jobs gained in the private sector are up beyond the rate created by the prior administration. That is just part of the change that has taken place since I cast my ONE VOTE for change ALONG WITH 69 MILLION other Americans!
For the life of me, I cannot see enough difference between what bush promised in policy in 2000 and 2004 and what Romney is promising in policy in 2012 to change my vote! We know where the bush policy lead us! Dr.Paul, evenwith his good points, is still not a winner on the national scene! If you want “back to bush” vote “back to bush”!! My guess is that 95+% of the people here ,you included, didn’t vote for Obama in 2008 so he will lose no votes here! He never had any here SO there are 96 million somewhere! Obama may not win in 2012 but the worst thing the more conservatives might do is “win” with Romney and have to face 2016! One more bush-lite Republican adminstration failure might just be the death knell of that party and their influence on the Supreme Court!! If I didn’t have children and grandchildren that would have to face that future I would be tempted to wish for the failure! Like the ‘Ruin the economy if we have to” Repugnuts!!

NC, you’re doing the typical Liberal thing of choosing your statistical time periods to make your arguments appear valid.
Anybody who wants to see the truth can go here, check the top box “Total Non-farm Employment”, and then the “retrieve data” button at the bottom.
You will see that the number of jobs actually increased quite a bit during the Bush administration, and then declined to a number still higher than when he took office, and basically the opposite for Obama:
        http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/surveymost?ce
That certainly doesn’t absolve Bush, but the explanation is way over NC’s head. Because it is just the typical Boom/Bust cycle that is created by the Federal Reserve and Government Meddling in the Marketplace. And that is the case for both Political parties. The only difference is that the Democrats have mostly different Crony Capitalists to enrich at our expense than the Republicans do. Some Crony Capitalists play both sides.

  • Karolyn

What can Obama or any US President do to stem violence in other countries; and why should he? Our focus needs to be right here. It’s up to the people of those countries to take responsibility for their own issues.

    • Paul Wells

      Karolyn,
One thing Obama can do is to quit throwing gasoline on the fire! He has consistently harped on how the rich get richer, and you poor people, you are just downtrodden and taken advantage of by the exceptionally rich. Perhaps if he would ever speak in a manner to unite rather than to divide, we wouldn’t think he was such a complete idiot and failure as a president. He’s no leader, that much is apparent. (He’d be good at organizing a union, though!).

      • kwasi moto

you are right, a union organizer straight out of Chicago. he’d gather all his GOONS and beat the sh-t out of anyone who didn’t join. just remember his GOONS outside the voting
        location wITH THEIR BILLY CLUBS.

AS CANDIDATE OBAMA HE PROMISED TO UNITE THE COUNTRY AND THE WORLD. UNFORTUNATELY HE HAS FAILED AT BOTH. HIS SPEECHES DRIVE US FURTHER APART INSTEAD OF UNITING US.

god help us if he is reelected. he will use all his power to gain more power for the PRESIDENCY and forget the CONSTITUTION.

      • eddie47d

Paul Wells comment against Obama has nothing to do with the looming civil war in Syria. Assad’s has been dictators for decades and ruled with an iron fist so why are so many now surprised at all this and who says it is our business. Apparently many of you are still entrenched with the view that we are the policemen of the world and need to fight everyone elses battles. That makes you all aligned with the NWO,the Military Industrial Complex, increased Corporatism and arms sales and most importantly more unfunded wars. That will surely bring more taxes upon you and more debt . Enjoy!

      • David in MA

obozo is doing what one must do to kill a country for takeover, read alinsky, read hitler, read mao…..turmoil, anarchy and then send in the military to quell the masses, then seize control of the country. It is written in training manuels and in world history and always ends in suffering, pain & death. THAT is what obama is all about, in my opinion.

      • eddie47d

Johnson did it in Vietnam. G Bush did it in Iraq. Reagan did it in Nicaragua. Several Presidents and advisors have set us up for further conflict and that “pain and death”. .

    • Ken

Agreed, we should focus on our own country and peoples (as Ron Paul suggested) however, “Obama” has pushed the envelope several times creating angst between blacks and whites…..and the violence exhibited towards whites from blacks continues to escalate AND go unreported in the media, while any perceived white-affronts are reported thoroughly….

    • Ted Crawford

” What can Obama, or any other US President do to stem the violence in other countries? ”
In Obamas case, nothing. You can’t give what you don’t possess and what’s wanted here is Leadership qualities.
Remember this ” Mr. Gorbachev, tear down these walls! ” ? Agree or dissagree with him that’s Leadership! Even Bush ’43 ‘, not my favorite President by a long way, was a leader. Saddly he often lead in the wrong direction, in my opinion.

      • eddie47d

Reagan had his leaderless moments in Central America where 700,000 died. He also stood tall against the Soviets and thankfully kept that friction from enveloping into a war. Bush had no long term plan for Iraq or Afghanistan which is why we are still involved and the fighting continues. Hardly a strong leader. These countries are no better of 11 years later and the violence and chaos continues from internal factions. Unless we are assured of victory and democracy established in a timely manner then it may be best to allow these countries to run their course.

    • Winddrinker

In the article he states, “Violence is as old as humanity in Africa.” That is true, and we have violent attitudes in some of our black population..sometimes, it is just “in the genes.” Behavior is passed genetically by many species.

No American President will stop the violence in countries where people have thrived on hatred for thousands of years. We might as well forget the middle eastern countries, as well. We are wasting our blood and treasure…and, for what! I haven’t heard a reason coming out of Washington to justify the death of one American in the middle east!
The thing that come to mind would be that our government keeps us tied to terrorist countries because of our “need” for oil…

WE HAVE NO NEED FOR THEIR OIL! We have more oil in this country than all of the middle eastern countrie put together…why do we pay homage to our enemies and make them fabulously wealthy? We need a president that will make this country energy independent and create thousands of good paying jobs. Our economy would boom again. Once that is accomplished, abolish the Federal Reserve. America should “own her own currency!” We do not own it now. We have a private group of the ober rich of the world that own our money, and they keep printing it faster than bho can spend it!
      Amazing isn’t it.

      • Ron

        We don’t need the oil.

        But our oil corporations do.

Real “energy security” might be to actually LEAVE some oil under American soil where it’s safe in times like this when there’s a surplus, rather than drill-baby-drilla-it all out and dump it on the world market to the highest bidder. But then, oil companies can’t make any money off of it by leaving it for Americans.

While they may wave the flag in their commercials and pledge allegiance, they are pledging allegiance, not to the United States of America, but to their multinational shareholders, who are fine if America’s reserves are completely depleted, they will have made their money anyway. ‘Nothing personal, just bid’ness.

And your gas prices will NEVER go down.
You didn’t really think the oil companies o-w-e-d you anything, did you?

So, let’s all shut up and give them all our oil. Don’t develop any alternative technologies, since that might kill their generous subsidies and slow the draining-off of America’s oil into corporate ATM’s.

If they want the opinion of Americans, the corporations will waterboard it out of us. That’s what Blackwater is for.

    • DaveH

He could do a lot, Karolyn, by setting an example for Morality, instead of the opposite. Stealing, whether done by ordinary people, or by Government people, is still just Theft. The same goes for Killing, except in self-defense, whether done by ordinary people or by Government people (think Drone killings). If suspected criminals can be apprehended by police relatively peacefully in this country, then they could be in other countries as well. The idea that it’s okay for Government to take away the rights of other countries’ citizens as if they belonged to some subclass of human beings is just plain wrong-headed. And it will eventually lead to spillover in our own country. If we can’t expect them to respect the rights of other countries’ citizens, how can we expect them to respect ours?

      • Karolyn

Good points, Dave. I just read this article yesterday that is in line with what you speak of. Even though it’s from Common Dreams, I think you will like it. Actually, that article and wht you hav been writing are opening up my eyes to more than I chose to see previously.

      Phone Numbers

Write a letter to the President:

Black violence has, I believe, increased in this country since Obama took office. For one thing, he encourages it. For another, blacks know that as long as Holder runs the so-called Justice Department, he won’t take any action against them. They have a free ride. Plus, the brain dead media, won’t report most of the black violence and when they do, they seem to always whitewash it and blame the victims. Sooner or later, people are going to say “Enough is enough!” and decide to take matters into their own hands to protect themselves from these animals.

    • Karolyn

Glad you said “I believe”, Harold.

    • Winddrinker

And, if you are attacked by a black gangbanger, and are beaten-up, YOU are the one arrested!!

Women, especially need to learn to protect themselves. I agree blacks are like animals that are “hunting.” They normally attack when they outnumber their prey, or have great advantage (like being bigger, stronger, or on drugs which makes them dangerous.)

      • moonbeam

I see the white racists are out in droves today. Very sad. Blacks are animals? WOW! And YOU are a stinking racist. Would you say something as racist as that face to face? No, you wouldn’t. You hide behind a pc screen and spew your filth. That’s what cowards do.

      • http://disqus.com/jims33 jims33

The other cowards and I tend to call a spade a spade and react accordingly, so when I see a group of black men (or Mexicans)I usually avoid them assuming there is some possible danger, as well as knowing that if I had to harm some of them I would be put in prison regardless of how it went down…

They all had one thing in common. They all rule by hatred, fear, and bigotry.Whites are no different from blacks. We got whte people that behave like animals and we need to respect all people, regardless of race, color or creed.

You have to admit though that the big city blacks do not present a very, ah, positive image of themselves as a group.

Please post links that disprove those numbers…opinions are fine, but do nothing to refute the numbers…they are simply opinion.
      This was written around 2010:

      By Patrick J. Buchanan

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America .. Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to. This time, the silent majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the black American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.
We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude?

Barack talks about new ‘ladders of opportunity’ for blacks. Let him go to Altoona, Johnstown , and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for ‘deserving’ white kids ? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for black Americans are seven times those of white America ? Is it really white America’s fault that illegitimacy in the black American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena . And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago. This needs to be passed around because, this is a message everyone needs to hear !

OK will you pass it on ?

YES. I did but will you?

Because I’m for a better America.

    • Old Henry

      Harold:

Which animals are you referring to?

The media, or the gang-banger blacks?

  • revnowwhilewecan

Definitely agree Vicki. Let’s hope Americans can hold on to the ever shrinking 2nd amendment. I think it’s pretty well known that when there’s a fair fight, there is no fight. Thanks for the links.

    • Harold Olsen

If it’s a fair fight, blacks won’t fight. They only fight when they think they have the advantage. Last week, I was assaulted by a black guy while I was dialing my cell phone. He caught me while I wasn’t looking. But when I recovered myself and kept my eye on him, he kept his distance, but kept bad mouthing me. Each time I moved toward him, he backed away. His assault on me was unprovoked.

      • http://liberty Tony

        To Mr. Olsen:
If anyone is a “coward or an animal”,it’s people like you. You know, i don’t like confrontation but to put it it bluntly, if you had to go against anyone way with the same advantages, you would run and hide under your bed. The answer to this problem is we have to work together to solve these problems. Next, will “Richie Rich” Zombie do any better than Obumda in solving these dilemmas!?! I don’t think so. Good bye!!

      • JUKEBOX

If blacks in America think Africa is such a paradise, they need to spend a month or two there. America blacks are treated very badly by African blacks, being resented worse than American whites. This seems to be Obama’s agenda in our country.

      • CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON

        Tony,
PEOPLE CAN NOT WORK TOGETHER TO SOLVE PROBLEMS WHEN EACH SIDE HAS A DIFFERENT VALUE SYSTEM. IF YOU SIT HOME EVERYDAY WAITING ON THE MAILMAN TO DELIVER A GOVERNMENT CHECK, YOU WILL NEVER GROW. SOCIAL ENTITLEMENTS HAVE CAUSED RECIPIENTS TO RESENT AND “LASH-OUT” AGAINST THOSE WHO WORK AND HAVE ACQUIRED A COMFORTABLE LIFE FOR THEMSELVES. INNER-CITY VIOLENCE IS ABOUT “TAKING WHAT IS NOT YOURS” DUE TO LAZY SELFISHNESS. PEOPLE WHO “OWN” SOMETHING SIMPLY WANT TO PROTECT IT BECAUSE THEY WORKED HARD FOR IT.

        CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON

      • http://liberty Tony

        Dear Mr.Horton:
Don’t you dare tell me about “value systems”. If the gov. would not of from the get go interferred the lives of these peoples, put of G.A. or other programs of dependency. Then, would of allowed them and even taught them to fend for themselves, our nation wouldn’t be facing these crisis. By the way, the majority of people on Gov. subsidies are not blacks, other citizens of color, or poor whites but the Huge corps. that are bleeding our econ. dry plus buying our elections. Now do better research before coming up with nonsensical responses. Thanks and so long for now!!

      • http://liberty Tony

If all individuals would be given the liberty to assist themselves then these problems wouldn’t persist. However, our society either wants to continue a liberal policy of patronage and the rightwing types want to turn to idiotic disproven notions such as gentetics or culture. By the way peoples’,groups’, individuals’ genetics/culture are affected by their surrounding environments. In bad ones, bad behaviors evolve, in good ones, good demeanors take place. Think about that. Thanks!!

        @Jukebox,

You are exactly correct. I had a co-worker who was a native Nigerian who emigrated to this country. He had been highly educated in Nigeria, and he was quite intelligent. He told me personally that African blacks such as himself actually do not have much respect for or much in common with American blacks. The cultures and work ethic of the two groups as he put it are miles apart.

However, when I was in Jamaica for two weeks as a contractor, I personally experienced the Jamaican culture and work ethic, and it was very much in line with American blacks.

        Deer,
If you think that it started with Reagan, you haven’t been doing the recommended reading. Start with the book “The Real Lincoln”. Then read this Free book by one of the greatest thinkers of our time — Murray Rothbard:
        http://mises.org/Books/historyofmoney.pdf

There are many others that should also wake you up. I would be happy to list several that I have read if I thought you were interested in learning.

        Deer,
If you think that it started with Reagan, you haven’t been doing the recommended reading.”

I’m sorry David, I’m not at liberty to go back to the discovery of “fire” and right all wrongs. I find dealing with life’s problems inside some time frame of reference more “feasible ” Being willing to accept and understand , trying to kick starting a 1200 pound dead mule has some serious downsides and offers little in the way of certainly.

Lincoln had ” his days” problems to address with what resources he had at his disposal at that time. To second guess him a 100 years later makes anyone quit a “Monday morning” quarterback with more hindsight then few people might ever hope to enjoy.

You need to reassess your recommended reading list and be willing to accept the fact, that at the end of the day, men of position and power make decisions and it’s for mankind to make the best of it. To assume I’ve not read and studies such historical events is purely a misconception and an assumption on your part.

A man of Presidential aspirations, Yellow Hair, Son of the Morning Sun, Armstrong Custered, Commander of the 7th US Calvary make a decision one faithful day, June 25th 1886 and left behind a lot of widows and $25,000 thousand dollars cash in 2 months wages on a battlefield in dead soldiers pockets. The Sioux and Cheyenne didn’t know what these small pieces of paper with pictures on them were for. They wipe their butts with it and gave it to their children to play with. If any of us knew of our tomorrows David, things would be differently today .

Even in my own life, there has been people I’d been wiser to have killed off years ago rather then let them live and contend today with the results of their behavior.

But you can’t look at life that way DAVID.

So why not get “real” and accept the fact that we are not “gods” and quit finding someone else to blame for our problems today? We can’t dig up Lincoln or Custered and hold them accountable.

I’d like to see you to attempt to keep your banter in the ball park of reason if at all possible while I will conceded, States Rights took a beating during Lincoln’s tenure with his efforts to restore the Union. After all, it was a time of war when many liberties, both private and public were breached and amended.

It is more current affairs and events that most directly affect us today, while historical pretense might well go back 100 years. If you wish to introduce “this” pretense, please do so without counseling recommended “reading” of a 100 years old US administration.

Please narrow down your banter and say what’s on your mind.

We can’t dig up Reagan either but there is enough people alive today that remembers how America use to be, that knew and understood it’s greatness, a greatness that is no more, not since Reagan.

“Ortel believes Americans’ access to firearms will cause riots to be bloodier than anything seen in Europe.”

Ortel must be one of those who thinks only the elite should have access to firearms. In the REAL world the American access to firearms will cause riots to be calmer and cause much less destruction than in Europe. I offer as evidence the riots after Rodney King trial. Places where the Americans USED their access to firearms were spared. The rioters moved on to take their violence to areas where Americans were disarmed by their own foolish belief that their government would protect them individually.

And since (most) liberals are too lazy to look it up for themselves here is a link to backup my assertion of evidence. http://survivaldisasterplan.com/shelter-defense-part-1

      Second day (Thursday, April 30)

Although the day began relatively quietly, by mid-morning on the second day violence appeared widespread and unchecked as heavy looting and fires were witnessed across Los Angeles County. The Korean American community, seeing the police force’s abandonment of Koreatown, organized armed security teams composed of store owners, who defended their livelihoods from assault by the mobs. Open gun battles were televised as Korean shopkeepers exchanged gunfire with armed looters.[31]

Vicki, thank you for that link. I just read the article about the Korean population keeping their businesses safe. I am usually pretty knowledgable about curret events, but I missed this entirely. Very happy to see something on the positive side of gun ownership instead of hearing about people wanting to take our guns away such as Clinton and the UN small arms treaty.

It’s so disappointing to see Libertarians saying we should stay out of other nations conflicts and then advocate for involvement in Syria. That Obama or the American government has to get us involved with another foreign crises. Since Syria is an ally of Russia and armed by Russia there is more to this double speak than meets the eye. The screws are being tightened against Syria by Europe and the US and diplomacy has to be played out.The same ones who sought war with Iran are now clamoring for war with Syria. Ask what Ron Paul would do and the answer will be found.

      • DaveH

The Leaders want us to be disarmed, Not for our own safety, but for Their safety. Imagine how it will be if they disarm us? Already, they treat our ownership of our own money contemptuously. What will it be like when they have no more fear of retaliation?

      • Paul Wells

Absolutely true. The lamestream press in this country always sides with those with nothing to contribute except violence and mayhem, and vilify anyone who will stand up for themselves. I remember those riots clearly, and anyone else who does remembers that the police WOULD NOT ENTER the areas where the rioting and looting were most severe! That should serve good warning to anyone who thinks the government will protect them in a massive civil disobedience situation. We are at a crossroads in this nation. Those who have played by the rules, worked hard, and built up something for themselves are targets for the have nots, did nots, and will nots. This president has set up a class warfare ideology that is just inexcusable. ABO in 2012!!!

A friend and former co-worker was starting to cross a street in Hawthorne (near LA), and the light had just turned, so he decided to wait for the next one. Just then he heard shots and bullets hitting the nearby metal building so he took cover. Three of the people crossing the street were randomly gunned down by thugs in a passing car. All because Rodney King had been beaten by police. Some people are just itching for excuses to kill people which is exactly why we have a natural right to protect ourselves and also a Constitutional right which no Government can legally take away. But that won’t stop them from trying.

    • Tom Cook

Vicki, hopefully a point you make will turn relevant: liberals are cowards and hoplophobes, so they will be unable to protect themselves from the savage hordes if rioting occurs, therefore their ranks will thin; the rest of us will thin the ranks of the savage hordes. Vicki, I don’t think most people want to address this subject of violence but as John Myers points out violence has been something that has always plagued mankind. Maybe we don’t want our thoughts about this subject to be prophetic or maybe too many don’t believe it can happen to them.

I remember the riots back in the 1960′s and even then that violence never spilled over into our city so it just represented a distant problem for most people. That didn’t mean that the racial tensions of the day didn’t have an impact on most people. It did on me and I got to experience some of this tension first hand.

I think we’ll see a “mix” of violence as it’ll vary from one place to another depending on who’s armed an who’s not as pointed out in your link. Many of those who protest or riot are cowards finding strength in the crowd but will back down and go somewhere else when faced with their own mortality.

I noticed one thing in the link that I’m sure those who posted it had to promote: the lock and key attitude our government takes toward gun ownership. I took a self defense course and the instructor pointed out that an unloaded and locked away firearm does no good when confronted with sudden violence. I know we need to keep our children safe but in my opinion the best way to keep them safe from your firearms is to familiarize them with them. I kept my firearms out of infant reach but the moment I thought they could understand I started to familiarize them with firearms. I took my children out and taught them how to use them and showed them what a firearm could do and I never had a problem with one of them messing with my firearms. Maybe I was just lucky?

The One-Size-Fits-All Government that we’ve acquired is responsible for the pent-up anger. With Government whipsawing us between the Military State and the Welfare State, about half of the people are pissed at any one time, with the pissed half depending on which group is getting the goodies at any one period of time. If we had Real Freedom like that which Libertarians advocate (Real Libertarians like Mises.org presents), everybody would be responsible for their own welfare so there would be no ability to blame their plight on anybody but themselves, thus greatly alleviating the tendency for anger and violence.
Also, morality would be restored. There would be no Theft in the name of Government, and there would be no Killing in the name of Government, except in self-defense.
It’s time to become something other than a Society of Criminals under the auspices of Big Government:

DaveH, thank you for the link. I haven’t yet checked out Ludwig von Mises but I’ve bookmarked the page and I’ll be doing some study. I noticed this man was mentioned in the film “Thrive” that I watched earlier. This film is interesting and brings up a lot of controversial subject matter about energy, UFO’s and finances that many might find interesting. http://www.thrivemovement.com/

I don’t know what to think about this movie or organization yet but many of their ideas may parallel Ludwig von Mises’ ideas?

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

DaveH, the subject of who’s behind what is so obscured behind what most view to be party politics that they can’t see the truth. Well…. I think I see the truth and it different from those who play the party politics game. I believe there is a conspiracy by a group of elites in the west that want to dominate the world and who just might succeed on a certain level for a short time. They use party politics to distract the masses from what they are really up to.

I don’t believe that being violently aggressive is the answer and violence may just be what the elite want their opponents to turn to? I do believe that an active kind of resistance is necessary. I don’t believe I’d let them implant one of those RFD chips in me at least not voluntarily. I see the elimination of the IRS, and Federal Reserve system as being necessary for the survival of this nation.

I also feel that the Senate needs to be taken back out of the hands of the democratic crowd. Senators need to be elected the way the used to be elected. The system was set up the way it was for good reason: it kept the Senate from being vulnerable to the mob the same way the House of Representatives is and originally made the Senate responsible to the states themselves. It’s interesting that the change in Senate elections came at the same time as the income tax amendment. Was this just a coincidence? I believe it was Team Law that claims the 16th and 17th amendments weren’t properly ratified? I do agree that the 17th amendment, even if properly ratified, is not constitutional.

      • MAP

As Clint Eastwood illustrated in his movie, Grand Torino, our insane immigration policies are greatly responsible for the rising violence. People from Third World countries are brought into this country by the millions, in such numbers that there is absolutely no pretense to have them assimilate. These people have no connection with European culture and have little reason to learn. They isolate themselves in communities where they continue the culture of their former country. The tensions between these culturally diverse communities often leads to violence and outright war, like in Grand Torino. Study the crime statistics for these Third Worlders. It is appalling. This is just another Leftist disaster and is named ‘multiculturalism’. The sleaze-bag, Ted Kennedy, began this nightmare of anarchy with his so-called Immigration ‘Reform’ back in the 60′s. It should have been named ‘New Demos Voter Plan’. Our immigration policies are insane and the rates of violence will only increase till we adopt a more sane policy.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Map, I watched that movie “Gran Torino” several times. I liked it. I have a slightly different view of it than you do but your point about immigrants not assimilating seems to be true. I feel though that people will generally tend to seek places where they feel more at home with.

This is what I believe that immigrants should do:

        Learn our culture
        Learn our language
Or go back to where they came from.
If they want to be violent the can go back to where they came from.
It’s ok if they want to live in a neighborhood that reflects their culture where they can speak their native tongue, eat their native cuisine, practice their faith and dress in their native clothing. That’s part of being free.

Is that really the message that you got out of Grand Torino? Then you missed the message entirely. I’m so, so sorry ~

It was about an old warrior that was so full of doing his manly patriotic duty and warrior pride that he ignored his only child, not giving what all good fathers should give, ~ “themselves” .

When that child grew up, the son treated his aging father in kind, not having time for him.

In his aging, bitter, loneliness, lacking of any interpersonal relationships save for his drinking buddies down at the VA Hall, the old man focused turned his community of mixed race and nationality where he befriend a young Asian boy and became close to his family “IN SPITE” of his bias toward Asians and his war experiences in the Pacific islands.

It was a story about an “old man” that “overcame his racial bias” and stood tall once again for what he believed in, willing to pay the ultimate price for people he once hated.

That is what Clint Eastwood was attempting to get across, ~ Geee ~immy crickets !

No you weren’t just lucky. You were smart. I keep my sidearm and my wolfkiller loaded Always have I also have six children. I did the same thing and it works well and easily. The key is to show em what a weapon can do. My father showed me a gunshot cadaver in the local morgue. I used deer and elk I shoot every year to educate them as well as drilling into their head this truth “sorry can’t take a bullet back and can’t stop whatever you shoot from dying so don’t touch it unless I am here showing you how to handle it”

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Sandy Daniels, I believe that getting our children acquainted with firearms takes the “mystery” out of them so I let them shoot them. They understood the same basic things I used to teach to the boy scouts about firearm safety. It’s not a complicated merit badge to earn. Some of the most important things that you teach them: Firearms are always loaded, you can’t call the bullet back into the barrel once the trigger has been squeezed, and don’t point the muzzle of your firearm at anything you don’t intend to shoot. There are other important things but I always started off teaching these things and never missed an opportunity to reinforce them.

I saw a show one time where the Liberals were trying to demonstrate why it was best to teach kids that if they see a gun they should not touch it but report to an adult. They had a room full of various things, one of which was a semi-auto on a table (unloaded of course). They sent the kids one by one into the room and observed with hidden cameras. A black kid (no, I’m not biased, just reporting the facts) spotted the gun, dropped the clip, cleared the chamber, and stuffed the gun in his pants. Now there’s a kid who knows gun safety. That’s how it should be. But we need to work on the theft part, lol.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

DaveH, whoever taught that kid did a great job. That gun? What gun, I didn’t see a gun did you? lol. I don’t know what you feel about guns and how to store them but for me it drives me crazy to hear all of the things that seem to be required: the firearm needs to be unloaded with trigger lock installed and the firearm needs to be stored in locked cabinet with ammo stored in a separate locked cabinet. What good is a firearm that you can’t get to in a hurry in the event that you suddenly need it; like when your home is broken into?

I was taught: that the firearm needed to be someplace near you and loaded but it didn’t necessarily need one in the chamber. That you don’t leave where you are to find the intruder just stay put and let them find you. Often just hearing a round being chambered is enough to change someones mind. I prefer a shotgun for protection in the home: it’s less likely that anything will penetrate a flimsy sheetrock wall and injure someone you love while it makes it unnecessary to be the best shot in the world.

If it is a gun or base ball bat pointed at you , YOU ARE DEAD BY THE TIME YOU GET THE TRIGGER LOCK OFF.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Tim, you are right on target. A person would be dead along with his family before he could get all of the necessary ingredients together…that is unless you could talk the intruder into waiting. That’s not going to happen is it?

Maybe the real agenda behind all of these insane safety precautions are so that people will die before they can get their firearm loaded so the progressives would be able to say, “see, guns don’t save people.” .

violence begets violence. i fear more the hand of man than the word of god.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

brett, violence does beget violence. Have you ever had to face someone who was irate? I’m sure you have. I learned that if you lower the tone of your voice below the level of the person you’re facing that they’ll usually come down to your level. This often works but not always. There will just be some people who want to hurt you, but thankfully not most. Love is the best answer. I was also taught the “discretion is the better part of valor”. This was what I was told that meant: talk your way out of a fight or walk your way out of a fight.

Having said that, I don’t believe that I could sit back and just love someone who was getting ready to harm one of my family members. I believe that it would be wrong to not do anything. I think that a person has the responsibility to protect their family even if it means that they have to be violent to do it.

Vicki, we were given the instinct to protect ourselves and our children for a reason. Good people need to make sure their offspring survive to do good things in the world. I will protect myself and my own. If I didn’t have a family to protect I could do what ever I felt was appropriate including being passive and letting someone do with me as they will. We have families and our responsibilities to them. Be well and prosper Vicki.

You were not lucky. You used the good sense God gave you to educate your children. The NRA has a program for children that teaches gun safety called Eddie Eagle gun safety. It works very, very well.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Steven, I was taught that all accidents are avoidable but that not all accidents will be avoided. I agree that the best way to eliminate accidents is through education. There are too many out there that believe we can protect our children from 100% of all accidents by eliminating the object in the accident; in this case the firearm. But, even if true, that won’t guarantee that nothing will happen that isn’t an accident.

I believe that there are people out there that have an agenda to disarm us to make it easier to control us and they use people who lack wisdom and experience to get legislation enacted to do just that.

    • JeffH

Thank you Vicki…you beat me to the punch on this quote: “Ortel believes Americans’ access to firearms will cause riots to be bloodier than anything seen in Europe.

I agree with you and I’m sure a large majority of firearm owners do to along with a few that don’t own any fireaems. I never bought a gun for purley “defensive” purposes because I am a sportsman first and an admirer of quality firearms. But, I have always been aware that I am able to legally protect myself and my property if ever the need did arise.

If only the really ignorant could understand the reality of criminal thought, guns don’t kill people, criminals(people)kill people. To be able to defend oneself and one property from a criminal is a major deterrent of becoming a victim.

I saw the movie and your observations a spot on. It showed even an old hardass bigot cna change under the right circumstances.
