Barack Obama Shows How Low He Can Go

April 20, 2012 by

Barack Obama Shows How Low He Can Go
SCREENSHOT
This 2011 ad attacked Republicans.

With his three wins earlier this month in Wisconsin, Maryland and Washington, D.C., Mitt Romney all but clinched the Republican nomination for President. The political pundits promptly announced that the 2012 campaign for the White House could finally get under way.

Baloney. Barack Obama has been campaigning for re-election for more than a year now (or, more accurately, about five minutes after he took office in January 2009). Judging by what we’ve seen so far, it’s going to be one of the nastiest campaigns this country has ever seen.

Four years ago, when he was campaigning on a promise of “hope and change,” here’s what then-Senator Obama said in his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention:

If you don’t have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare voters. If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from.

Sound like anyone we know?

Karl Rove wrote an opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal in which he mentioned recent remarks Obama made to executives of The Associated Press (an audience that was guaranteed to be almost as friendly for him as union members). The President warned that the Republicans want to “convert more of our investments in education and research and health care into tax cuts — especially for the wealthy.” Of course, no Republican anywhere has proposed any such thing — and the President knows it.

But you’ve got to love how the guy manages to position his redistributionist schemes as “investments.” How can you complain if he takes money from those who earn and give it to those who don’t (with substantial deductions along the way to pay for the bureaucracy that administers it) if he calls such actions “investments”?

Our President is an absolute master at impugning the motives of anyone who disagrees with him. Thus, he can tell the editors at AP that his opponents want to “let businesses pollute more and treat workers and consumers with impunity.” He knew that no one in his audience would challenge such ridiculous assertions.

Or how about this example? Unlike the Democratic-controlled Senate, which hasn’t passed a budget in the past three years, the House of Representatives approved one earlier this year. It calls for increased Federal spending from $3.6 trillion in fiscal year 2011 to $4.9 trillion in fiscal year 2022.

But in his speech before the AP, Obama denounced the plan for its heartless “cuts” because he wants to increase Federal spending nearly twice that much. His plan calls for spending $5.8 trillion in 2022. So in other words, in Obamaland, if one of your kids asks you to double his allowance, and you increase it only 50 percent, somehow you’re guilty of cutting it.

Of course, if Mitt Romney or any other Republican tried to use such shoddy logic, the media would be quick to point out the absurdity of the claim.

Speaking of dishonest statements, how about Obama’s promise that if Congress would only pass the “Buffett Rule,” it would “stabilize our debt and deficits for the next decade”? Obama isn’t even close. According to the Joint Committee on Taxation, this much-ballyhooed tax on anyone making $1 million or more a year will raise $47 billion over the next 10 years. Obama’s budget proposals for the same period will add $9.6 trillion to our national debt in the same period.

In other words, the Buffett Rule will pay for just about 17 days of the President’s next decade of deficits. But, hey, the public likes promises to “soak the rich.” And no President since Lyndon Baines Johnson has played the “us vs. them” card as often or as effectively as Obama.

As you know, the Buffett Rule is named after Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor from Omaha, Neb., who earned scads of publicity when he observed that he pays a lower tax rate than his secretary.

Well, guess what? It turns out that Obama does, too. The President and his wife reported an adjusted gross income of $789,674 in 2011 and paid 20.5 percent of it in Federal taxes. The White House confirmed that Obama’s secretary, Anita Decker Breckenridge, paid a “slightly higher” percentage on her salary of $95,000.

According to White House spokeswoman Amy Brundage, that “is exactly why we need to reform our tax code and ask the wealthiest to pay their fair share.”

By the way, in 2009 and 2010, royalties from his bestselling books put Obama in the $1-million-a-year income bracket. But in 2011, the President wouldn’t have been subject to the Buffett Rule had it been in effect. I guess he’ll have to wait until he’s out of office and making millions of dollars on the lecture circuit before he falls victim to the proposal — assuming it ever gets passed, that is.

Meanwhile, the President and his cronies are raising hundreds of millions of dollars for this year’s re-election campaign. Bill Maher, the potty-mouthed comedian on HBO, contributed $1 million to a pro-Obama super-PAC earlier this year.

I shudder to think how ubiquitous the nasty ads from the Obama campaign will be with a billion bucks to spend, but I doubt they will stoop to the depths of some of their more vitriolic supporters, such as Maher. At least, I hope they won’t.

If you think the 2011 TV ad was featuring a wheelchair-bound old lady being thrown off a cliff was nasty, just wait. You ain’t seen nothing yet.

Until next time, keep some powder dry — and the political commercials on mute.

Unless a viable middle of the road 3rd party becomes reality, I’ll just vote “D” and the hell with the G.O.P. … they’re even more destructive to America’s middle class than the Democrats. If they’d KEEP THEIR FAITH BASED GOD OUT OF MY REALITY BASED LIFE, I’d consider them by default.
What a choice, get kicked in the Right testicle, or the Left testicle.
For now, I’ll choose Left, and get force-fed a liberal immigration policy, gays in the military (no problem with their marriage), a broken health care system, the continuation of Too-Big-Too-Fail, … basically nothing for my tax dollars.
Oh well, here is to the OWS type movements and the hope they can bring America back to the 99%. I won’t be holding my breath.

    • Meteorlady

So let me get this right? When the Bush tax cuts were passed they benefited the “rich”? So why did they give us a lower bracket of 10%? Why did they add $500.00 to the child tax credit? Why did they give parents of special needs children a deduction for special education? Why did they do away with the inheritance tax (which would hit many middle Americans if their parents owned a home, car and had a bank account and saving account)? Why did they close some of the loopholes that the rich previously had? Why did they do away with the marriage penalty?

The only thing about those cuts that can be construed as for the “rich” would be the capital gains of 15% which actually helped me save money to expand my business…..

Why are there 17 jobs bills written by Republicans still sitting in the Senate an will probably never come up for vote? Why are tax decreases wrong when they put more money in your hands to buy good and services?

  • Brian

The liberals always want to make the tax code ‘fair’ by raising taxes on those who make more (a play right out of the Communist Manifesto and Kark Marx’s writings). What is wrong with making the tax code ‘fair’ by LOWERING taxes on those who make less?????

    • DaveH

“Fair” would be for every adult to pay the same amount of taxes. The size of the Federal Government would shrink dramatically if everybody had the same skin in the game, as it should be. Then we could start working on our Local Leviathan Governments.

      • Brian

Actually, income tax is unconstitutional in the Constitution’s original intent. Our founding fathers specified all direct taxes (taxes paid by a person and not levied on goods) were to be “apportioned” meaning everyone pays the same regardless. This scheme prevents class warfare. Passage of the 16th amendment was the foot in the door for socialism. Our progressive income tax system is a play right out of the communist manifesto.

    • Ted Crawford

Very true Brian! From the horses mouth so to speak, ” The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation ” Vladimir Llyich Ulyanov (Lenin)

Chip, You forgot that “Politics ain’t beanbag”. The Fear Factor is a major weapon for both parties. It works because the public doesn’t stay informed about what is going on. Shucks, it doesn’t even know who it’s Representatives are who is on the Supreme Court. Some don’t even know that Social Security is a government program. The media gets one message right: “The public has not yet begun to focus on the elections”. By the time they do, they are only guessing.
So much for a well-informed electorate! To paraphrase an old saying: “There are liars, damn liars, and politicians.”

    • Ted Crawford

It seems that Thomas Jefferson agrees with you sesame! ” If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be”

  • Norma

I realize many fraudulous politicians have been helped along by satan himself although not a one of them will acknowledge that it is God who gives all of us our brains and a heart that can and should turn to God, but God gves us a free will to do whatever our selfishness warrants. But Oh! what punishment awaits those who have turned to crooked lawlessness, fraud and attempts to deceive as many people as possible! Many of our politicians are still hard at it to get their own selfish way. The chief of them is, of course, Obama at the wheel, as he tries to ruin one of the greatest – if not the greatest – countries on earth. But I wouldn’t want to be him (even with all his millions) as he encounters God, for all his filthy, lowly, inhuman, deceitfulness, selfishness, and fraud and crookedness, as he sought to worm himself into the White House, by devious means. He has the respect of NOBODY! Even not from those who have their hand out for their pay-offs. He has in mind to take all the deserving credit and riches that other men have made and give it to those muslims and other crooks who do not acknowledge nor respect the God of the universe. Why does he think he is smarter than God Who will make him accountable in the end? And all of those whose hearts were blackened already who fell in line behind him; do not they all know that they cannot beat God’s system whatever they do? The Bible says “every knee shalll bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord indeed!” Their money won’t mean a thing at the judgment seat. I wonder just how their stealth will accomplish their fraud at the voting booths? well, I don’t put my trust in government; not anymore. I have seen just how low men (and women) can go. I will be voting against Obama and all his henchmen in November, but probably my vote won’t even count, although I was born and raised and worked here all my life. But I trust God’s judgment! I want to ask God to bless America. but too many peopele have turned away from God. I think it’s too late.

    • Flashy

Whose god are you asking…mine or yours or someone elses?

      • Average Joe

As usual, another silly question from the “Flash”.
        (But, I digress)
A better question is,”Why does it matter so much to you?”.

      • DaveH

It doesn’t matter whose God she asks, Flashman. What matters is that she tries to live a moral life. You should try that.

  • eddie47d

The Buffet Rule would be mostly symbolic since it wouldn’t put a dent into salaries of the wealthy. What it would do is to make the Middle Class feel like they are important again and not being run over by the unrepentant schemes of the richest Americans. That the hard work of those Middle Class citizens won’t be ignored while the salaries of the wealthiest take off like a runaway freight train without anything trickling down to provide the needed jobs.

    • DaveH

      Eddie,
If their wealth is undeserved, it should be easy for you to start your own company and join them in a moral way, instead of rationalizing the theft of their legally earned money.
The only thing keeping you from it is the amount of work and learning you’re willing to do, and the obstacles which have been presented to would-be competitors by the Crony Leaders who you Progressives have enabled by your jealousy-driven votes.

      • Flashy

no one is advocating theft. it is asking they pay for their benefits received rather than have the rest of the country support them via a form of welfare

      • Ted Crawford

OK, Flashy, at just what point will the lower 50% pay their share for the even larger amount of benifits they recieve? Fair will happen only when Everybody has some skin in the game!

      • DaveH

There is only one True Fair Tax, Flashman. That is for every adult to pay the same tax regardless of income. Car dealers can’t demand our income statements before they offer us a price, why should Government be able to?
I know, next you will issue some useless conjecture like “they get more Government services than the rest of us do”, or some other such equivocation. Save it.

      • Average Joe

Let’s tax the rich…right?…try again…mnath made simple (for liberal minds).

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=661pi6K-8WQ

      • Deerinwater

“let’s tax the rich!” and why not? We tax the poor.

      • DaveH

        Surely you jest, Deer?

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing Jay

Oh no Dave, he’s not joking; he’s brain-dead serious.

    • eddie47d

There are weekly stories on the news on the subject of ponzi schemes,Hedge Fund disasters,Insider Trading,CEO’s literally stealing funds from their own company and demanding huge buyouts. Demanding salaries and pensions that are unconscionable which throw fortunes their way but weakens the company. You can call it crony Capitalism all you want but it’s normal procedure so stop defending the corrupt Capitalists who are wrecking havoc on our nation. Unless you “true Capitalists” are on board in changing those moral values in the financial world then you are only blowing smoke. You may not want business as usual on Wall Street yet we seldom see any reforms coming from your way and actions do speak louder than words.

      • Average Joe

        eddie47d,
All of the things you complain about are simply part of the human condition….you can’t regulate morality. However, instead of blaming those “greedy” corporatists, maybe you should consider blaming your elected officials…..who refuse to monitor these “greedy” folks….or actually enforce laws on the books. The “greediness” is not the problem…it’s the lack of enforcement….plain and simple. The last time I checked, most of the things you complain about…are unlawful acts….which should be prosecuted…..but aren’t being……

Blame the right people….if the laws were enforced…..all of your complaints would vanish…quickly.

    • http://www.mototcarsfinancial.com Brad

Eddie jealousy is all over your liberal faces. You want the rich to give 70% of their hard earned cash so the government can waste it on fools like you

      • http://gravatar.com/hattles JeffH

:) he’s been sayin’ it for years! As Ron White says…you can’t fix “it”!

    • Meteorlady

So Eddie why when some states passed the same thing – tax the rich, the rich fled to other states? Even when they did not flee revenues dropped because business got slower.

  • mark

How low can you go? Gee, the hateful, vicious comments about President Obama by various contributors to this website certainly show that the Democrats have no monopoly whatsoever on cruelty, hatred, and ugly lies. I do recall that in the 2000 Republican primary fight Bush operatives placed fliers on car windsheilds in church parkinglots in the South purporting that John McCain had a “love child” with a black woman.

    http://www.newsgroper.com/george-w-bush/2008/01/14/mccain-and-roves-black-love-child

He actually adopted a baby from Bangladesh. This was one of Karl Rove’s dirty tricks. I am sure many more will follow from Romney’s crew and the RNC this year – all via “outside, independent” groups, of course.

    • jeepman1

Wait, wait wait…what nonsense did you just write? First you talk about ” the hateful, vicious comments about President Obama by various contributors to this website certainly show that the Democrats have no monopoly whatsoever on cruelty, hatred, and ugly lies.” And, then you back it up with a 12 year old example from a Republican primary? Is that really the best you can do? Or, is this best that the left has to offer? Or, perhaps, like most of the mindless many, you are not thinking clearly from too much kool-aide or too much time at the trough.

      • mark

jeepman, just read the hateful, vicious screeds on today’s blog written by contributors or on yesterdays or any of the last 3 years. I don’t have to go back 12 years, the proof is all around you, right on this page.

      • jeepman1

Yes mark, it sounds eerily similar to comments from the left wing blogs. And, it reminds me of the death threats from the left Bush endured, as well. Threatening the president is illegal. As is putting bounties out on citizens. I just find it amusing that left wingnuts seem to be more tolerant of their own threats and howl when right wingnuts sound off.

And, where are the admonitions when democrat politicians “mis-step”? Non-existant. Imagine the furor if a Republican called activists “Nazis” like Pelosi did. Or, how about when Stark asked one his constituents “Who are you going to kill today?” Nice, huh? I could go on, but you get my point.

    • Brian

      Mark,

Politics is a dirty business and there is wrong doing on both sides of the aisle. But rather than throw a red herring at us, why don’t you counter our claims with FACTS.

The fact is, Obama and many policiticians are liars and connivers. Why do you think congress has such a low approval rating? They talk about ‘tax cuts’ when they really mean they aren’t going to raise our taxes as much as they had originally planned. They talk about ‘investements’ in green energy that goes to companies that end up going belly up. (0h, and some of those companies juast happen to be DNC donors, but that didn’t influence the loan guarantee process, right?) Obama outright REJECTED his oath of office by refusing to defend DOMA, a law that was passed by an overwhelming majority in both houses and signed into law by Clinton. Holder REFUSED to do his job to investigate ‘his people’ when there was clear video evidence of voter intimidation in Philadelphia. Obamacare, with it’s individual mandate (clearly unconstitutional to the most causal observer) only got through the House due to closed door deals (so much for the promoise of transparency and CSPAN coverage), such as with Nebraska, and supported by such arguements as “we have to pass it to find out what is in it.” They make promises without bothering to figure out a way to keep those promises (eg. unfunded social security and medicare). We have many who view our constitution as something to get around rather than to support and defend (eg Phil “I don’t worry about the Constitution” Hare and Pete “congress can do anything they want” Stark.)

And you wonder why those who love this counrty are angry?

You would expect that most people would be educated enough or have enough common sense to be able to tell Obama is a liar. Stupidity has run rampant in this country. Stupidity, however, is a symptom of evil.

    • Karolyn

Stupidity is a symptom of evil? That’s a stupid remark!

      • Steve E

There is no way you could understand. No sense in me trying to explain it to you either. See what I mean fellow bloggers? I’m sure most of you understand.

      • DaveH

What he’s saying, Karolyn, is that your lust for other peoples’ money has rendered you unwilling to seek knowledge of what is really going on.

      • Steve E

You hit the nail on the head, Dave

      • mark

Actually, Karolyn’s statement is correct. There is nothing inherantly evil about stupidity.

      • Steve E

Ignorance is one thing, but succumbing to evil makes you stupid. Stupid is what evil does.

      • Deerinwater

        You underestimate “evil” Sir.

      • Steve E

Underestimate evil perhaps, but you can never overestimate it.

      • Deerinwater

        Dua?

      • Meteorlady

Deer – go study George Soros and you will see the face of evil. That’s the very person that puls Obama’s strings. Study what George has said he will do to this country in order to gain One World Order. Study what George did to the Bank of England when tons of elderly people lost all their money because he manipulated the pound. Study what he did to a couple of small countries that didn’t fall in line – he bankrupted them.

      • recce1

You’re being far too kind to Soros. As a Jew he helped the Nazis seize the property of fellow Jews who were being sent to the concentration camps during the Holocaust. In an interview when asked about it he expressed no remorse.

      • Deerinwater

Hmm? George Soros sounds like a real scoundrel on the highest order. I don’t know the guy.

      • recce1

Soros is the king maker behind Mr. Obama.

    • eddie47d

It goes deeper than that Karolyn and the facts are being bent to suit the election and the truth be damned. Both sides have done this over the years and it has become a form of cruelty towards the American people. In this case the Republicans do want to water down any environmental rules such as the Clean Air Act which would in turn increase health and breathing problems for thousands if not millions. How can they say they are on the side of the citizen when relaxing the laws would create harm? Republicans want more tax cuts without anything to replace that lost revenue. Which means Research,Healthcare,Transportation,Infrastructure,Education would take major hits. They say America is falling behind yet refuse to finance the projects that would get us ahead. There is a difference between wanting to control costs and keeping us on a steady coarse. I don’t give either party much credit there for there has been reckless spending on one side and reckless sabotage from the other.

      • Deerinwater

“Stupidity, however, is a symptom of evil.”

No stupid, stupid is just stupid. it’s not complicated.

      • Meteorlady

Eddie – the only Republican plan I have seen to water down regulations is the requirements involving paperwork reporting. You need to read the 17 jobs bills that languishing in the Senate…. As for the Clean Air Act – give me a link to that one because I can’t find anything about getting rid of that.

At the tine when my grandparents and parents lived Democrats were good. They were middle of the road and helped working people. Now they are a bunch of self-serving egotists who believe I owe everyone in this country something for nothing.

      Sam
First I’d like to personally thank you for your service to our Country! Second, please allow me to appologize for those here who would attempt to belittle and demean your sacrifice! Yea, I know connect the dots! TO WHAT! ???????

OK Deer – are you better off since Obama took office? Do you like all the money wasted on bankrupt banks and GM? Do you like that fact that gas and food prices are going up daily? Do you like it that the Bush tax cuts will expire on 1/1/2012 if he is re-elected and that will cost most families and extra $3,500 in taxes for 2012? Do you like that we spend a few BILLION on Libya without congressional approval? Do you like that he lies constantly about things like the unemployment rate and the inflation rate? What about fast and furious? How about Solyndra where the main owners walked away with our tax dollars in their pockets (even GWB would finance them)? How about not drilling for oil or agreeing to subsidize natural gas stations along main interestates so trucks could be converted to natural gas engines?

The list goes on and on and on….. but hey – you won’t check anything anyway so I just wasted my time.

I’m sorry, but I just can’t believe that you don’t check facts when he makes a speech.

As a former Soviet Union resident and a proud US citizen for 30 years I painfully can see too well where this President is leading this great country to if he is not stopped…
    Been there, lived through it.
This so called “Constitutional lawyer” who must be disbarred for introducing seemingly unconstitutional law and ‘dishonorably discharged” as our Commander-in- Chief showed disrespect to our laws, traditions and freedoms

Comming from someone with empirical knowledge Vlad, this should carry a lot of weight, however the Progressives will not understand untill they experience what you have! Some of us never learn from history!

Seems to me both him and Romney are liars….no choice at all

    ELECT RON PAUL

    we need a brokered convention

    • DaveH

I would prefer Ron to run third party and sweep both establishment Democrats and establishment Republicans out the door.
For those who think he can’t do it. Look at how he fares in the Straw Polls, where the votes are coming from people who have actually heard him speak his ideas instead of getting their opinions from the Propaganda Media:
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_polls_for_the_Republican_Party_presidential_primaries,_2012

He has won 19 out of the last 30 Straw Polls.
Mitt Romney has won only 3 of those out of thirty. Yet he is the front runner. Talk about people dutifully taking their Propaganda Pablum.

      • Thinking About

Deception is not being truthful. When you proclaim you don’t vote for spending but you knowingly add earmarks to bills you know is going to pass and though you vote against the bill you take the money and run home you are deceiving the public. If also you think the 14% is going to beat the other two parties then go for it.

      • DaveH

Name another politician, TA, who has voted NO more times than Ron Paul.
And as I told you last time you issued your nonsense, if somebody took your wallet and threw your money in the air, it would be wrong for you to try to get as much of it back as you could?
I am well aware of the Progressive gimmicky. First they convince innocent but ignorant people to join their con game, and then when the people wise up they tell the newly alert people that they are already part of the game and it’s wrong for them to quit it.
Save your manipulative tactics for ignorant Liberals, TA.

      • DaveH

Also note that those people who have actually listened to Ron Paul’s speeches overwhelmingly prefer him over the other candidates:
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_polls_for_the_Republican_Party_presidential_primaries,_2012
And I don’t expect ignorant Liberals to vote for Ron, TA.

      • recce1

While Rep. Paul has some good ideas, in one debate he convinced me he was an anarchist. I’m not talking about the wild-eyed bomb throwing type. I’m talking about a person who believes that humans are essentially good and would do the right things if completely free.

When the Republican candidates were asked what they believed would be a fair amount of taxation from ALL sources, the answers ranged from 15% to 35%. However, Paul forcefully said ZERO, no taxation of people. Most people realize that not even local governments could survive.

In addition, I believe Paul is a neo-isolationist. He’s willing to trade with other nations but that’s about it. A mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv wouldn’t bother him.

      • DaveH

I believe you’re taking things out of context, Recce. Do you have any references?
By the way in 1900 Government spent 6% of our GDP. Now they spend over 40% of our GDP. Do we really need 7X bigger Government than they did in 1900?
Here is Ron Paul’s Defense platform:
        http://www.ronpaul2012.com/the-issues/national-defense/

By the way, which would be a more desirable neighbor — one who leaves you alone and interacts peacefully with you, or one who comes over to your house and nags you and bullies you to do things his way?
You call it Isolationist, Recce, we call it non-interventionist.

      • recce1

What was I taking out of context? Was it that Rep. Paul in a debate did say he favored no taxation from any source? I’m sorry, he said it in a major forum and never took it back, never said he misunderstood or misspoke. So excuse me if I think he meant it.

In 1900 the US wasn’t a word power. Unfortunately it was WW 2 that made us into one and also brought us out of the Great Depression. It certainly wasn’t any of FDR’s socialist plans that helped the country recover. As a matter of fact, he prolonged the recovery from the Depression However, should we have sat both WW 1 & 2 out?

Back at the turn of the 20th century it took over a month to drive across the country. Many Americans didn’t have running water, sewage, or electrical power. Our lives were much shorter and infant mortality was much greater. Do you know that more Americans died of the Spanish Flu than were killed in WW 1? Is this what you want to go back to?

Now I do agree that government spending is completely out of control. I’d say that easily 50 to 60% of what the federal government does isn’t part of the Enumerated Powers. Heck, some claim it could be upwards of 76%.

As for its first responsibility, protecting our borders, it’s failing, and I believe by design. The second responsibility is protecting the rights and benefits of American citizens. Again it’s failing.

As for you neighborly example, the specific example you pose is akin to fascism/socialism, two sides of the same coin. But that’s not what I’m addressing. However, I suppose the Good Samaritan was meddling, is that it? So if you see you neighbor being beaten being a non-interventionist just means you go back indoors because it’s none of your business? Have you ever heard of the 1964 Kitty Genovese case in NYC?

Again, I believe the government meddles far too much in others affairs, but Rep. Paul would go to Congress first if America was under attack before he took action? I don’t call that non-interventionist. I call that being a Chamberlain or a Quisling.

Furthermore, while I’m glad Rep. Paul served in the Air Force, it was for 2 years active duty and 3 in the Guard as a Flight Surgeon. He didn’t see combat. That hardly makes him an expert on the military or national defense, although it’s far better than Mr. Obama’s experience.

      • http://none John W. Riley

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh ,
had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent
        form of government.
A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can
vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.
From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the
most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally
collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has
        been about 200 years.
During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

        From bondage to spiritual faith;
        From spiritual faith to great courage;
        From courage to liberty;
        From liberty to abundance;
        From abundance to complacency;
        From complacency to apathy;
        From apathy to dependence;
        From dependence back into bondage.”
        The Obituary follows:

        Born 1776, Died 2012
It doesn’t hurt to read this several times.

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul , Minnesota ,
points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was
mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income
tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
“complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy,
with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached
        the “governmental dependency” phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal
invaders called illegal’s – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the
USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at
stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom..

Please take the time to read, very interesting stats, best regards!
        This is truly scary!
Of course we are not a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic .
Someone should point this out to Obama.
Of course we know he and too many others pay little attention to The Constitution.
There couldn’t be more at stake than on Nov 6, 2012.

If you are as concerned as I am please pass this along.

      • recce1

Meteorlady, I never said or implied that Rep. Paul was unintelligent. I believe quite the opposite. That’s why I said he had a lot to offer. But I just don’t think he’d make a good president, although he’d be much better than Obama and possibly Romney. Now as a Vice-President…

What I did say is that he’s an isolationist. His statement about what if we were attacked is not relevant other than he believes we should abide by the Constitution, something no other president has done since FDR with regards to war. As a matter of fact, Obama is probably the worst as he went to war with Libya without even a word to Congress. That’s surely impeachable. It’s something I certainly wouldn’t expect of Rep. Paul if he were president.

I also mentioned what Rep. Paul said in a debate this year about the rate of taxation. Surely you can’t deny that. His idea is simply unworkable, although we do need to lower taxation and repeal the 16th, oops, the 17th Amendment. Well, when I think of it let’s also repeal both. By the way, 2000 was 12 years ago. Beliefs change.

      • DaveH

Our Founders intended the Federal Government to get their taxes from the States, NOT the people, Recce. So Ron Paul is right in line with our Freedom-loving Founders is he did say that. I would like to see a reference though, as being human, there is a very good chance that you are taking his statement out of context:
From the Constitution, Article 1, Section 2:
“direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons”.
And like I said in another rebut to your Isolationist accusation –> Ron Paul is a Non-Interventionist. Instead of meddling in other countries politics, he wants to trade freely with them and keep our military out of their business.
I really don’t understand people like you who would never dream of trying to use force against your neighbor who is just minding his/her own business, but somehow if they’re in a neighbor country you advocate going in, picking a side, and bullying the rest of the citizens. You expect our country’s Leaders to abide by the Constitution and respect our Freedom, but it’s okay for them to trample other countries’ peoples’ Freedom?
In my opinion, those people who can rationalize the Freedom Trampling and Killing and Maiming of other countries’ citizens, are really not much different than the Liberals who can rationalize Stealing other peoples’ money and personal choices.

      • recce1

In the January Fox News GOP debate in Myrtle Beach, SC the candidates were asked what they believed the highest tax rate should be from ALL sources. Many have reported the question as to what the highest Federal income tax rate should be. But that’s not what the question was.

        http://dailycaller.com/2012/01/17/paul-federal-income-tax-rate-should-be-zero-percent/#ixzz1swvGKw5M

Of course the 16th Amendment established the Federal Income Tax. However, I believe it was a serious mistake, along with the 17th Amendment. Remember, that was during the era of Wilson and the Progressives. Their intent was to diminish the power of the sovereign States with the eventual goal of creating a “democracy” or as others have called it, “mobocracy.” Those 2 Amendments and the 10th were meant to help the States keep the Federal government in check in accordance with the concept of federalism.

Since then about every president and Congress has worked to one degree or another to consolidate power in the Federal government. As it is, the Bill of Rights and Article 1 Section 8 are moribund.

I think you missed my point about defense and the use of the military. The use of military force should be very limited and used with the “Just War” concept kept in mind. That concept predates the the discovery of the New World. However, there’s nothing in the Constitution that forbids the US from first declaring war on another country. What the Constitution demands is that the president get a Declaration of War, and I believe a formal one, from Congress before committing troops to anything but fending off an actual attack on the US.

As an example, I believe FDR did it correctly after Japan attacked the US and Hitler declared war 2 days later. The polar opposite would be Mr. Obama’s declaring war on Libya by himself. He didn’t even consult Congress. As for Bush Jr., he got a feel good resolution to go after Hussein, but not a formal declaration of war. Although Hussein was bellicose, was trying to get WMDs, said he wanted nukes to attack the uS and Israel, and had attacked about 4 other countries, he didn’t pose an imminent threat to the US, any US bases, or allies. As for the latter, keep in mind that treaties are considered the “Law of the Land.” That’s why they can be so dangerous.

Quite frankly, I don’t think you and I are that far apart. As for Rep. Paul, I think he sometimes shoots from the lip and that bothers me. Nevertheless, I’m not really happy with any of the GOP candidates and certainly not with Mr. Obama.

Not to mention the tax breaks the rich receive.

      • Sirian

        Doc,
That is one of the poorest arguments to toss out. Anybody with a lick of sense knows that CEO’s salaries and perks are set by the board. And that is determined by the stock prices on a whole. As long as the company prospers, so to does the CEO, employees also. If it does not it is quite common to see the CEO either voted out by the board or merely resign. Good try, just doesn’t work anymore. Now go scrounge through your Alinsky bible and toss out another one of the old reliables.

      • Doc Sarvis

Sirian, what difference does that make?

      • Flashy

Sirian…i believe the shareholders of Citi disagree with your premise….

Speaking of wearing his green-eyed glasses, here comes Doc with his list of envy.
        How about this, Doc?
        http://siteresources.worldbank.org/DATASTATISTICS/Resources/GNIPC.pdf

I’m sorry, Doc, but, with the exception of those who achieved their riches by politics instead of pleasing their consumers, I wish success to those who do the necessary things to supply us with our plentiful and cheap goods and services.
You and your fellow Progressive Followers have enabled the former by blindly accepting the class warfare promoted by Leaders and their Crony Capitalists whose main goal is to take advantage of the rest of us.
You’re being played, Doc, and if you’d take some time to do some reading, you might wake up to that fact.

      • DaveH

And according to the BLS, Doc, the mean wage in the US is $45,000.
So, you’re trying to tell us that the average CEO makes $6.5 million a year?
I suggest you supply references, because I am just a wee bit skeptical of that claim.

      • DaveH

Sorry, Doc, by the time I got to the reply box, I was thinking the ratio you claimed was 145:1 instead of the 475:1 you actually claimed. So that would make the average CEO salary $21 Million a year.
Pardon me if I don’t trust your figures.

      • eddie47d

Companies and CEO’s prosper in other countries also but without the unbridled greed.

      • DaveH

The unbridled greed I see comes from Liberals lusting after other peoples’ money. Any common thief can rationalize why they deserve somebody else’s money.

      • Meteorlady

So Eddie – in your opinion it’s unbridled greed that make me go to work each day and run my business? WOW – I always thought it was honorable to make money in order to exchange it with other honorable people than provide a service or goods to me. Here’s the deal Eddie – if I work hard and make a lot of money why are you entitled to any part of that? Didn’t you get the same public education as I did? Didn’t you have a chance to work your way through college as I did? Didn’t you have the chance to work menial jobs in order to save enough to start a business as I did?

So stop with the class envy and go out and work for what you want like the rest of us honorable people do.

    • Cecil

The rich don’t sit on their money. They invest in business, which provides jobs, or they keep it in the bank, which loans it to businesses to provide jobs. If they throw parties with it, they hire cooks and waitresses, providing jobs. Have you ever provided a job or two with your own investments?

      • Flashy

I guess that’s why there aren’t tax shelter havens in the Caribbean and elsewhere and no Swiss bank accounts eh?

      • DaveH

The nerve of them to try and hide their money from Thieving Progressives.

      • Bob Jeffrey

This is where you are mostly wrong. The vast majority of their wealth is from investing in the stock market. Very little is actually invested in new business. Investing in the stock market does not create any new jobs.

      • DaveH

Sure it does, Bob. A lion’s share of corporate funds comes from selling shares on the stock market. Without the stock market, they would be solely dependent on their own limited funds and borrowing in the bond market.

      • Meteorlady

OMG BOB! So when I invest in a company it doesn’t provide money for expansion? How does that work exactly? What do they actually do with the extra cash they are given by me when I invest? Most companies that I am invested in base their stock dividends and CEO payouts on what they make.

If I took my business public it would be for no other reason than to raise capital for expansion, which means I would need more employees.

    • Ted Crawford

You must have read a far different Bible than I did Don! In the one i’ve read Christ declares that ” If a man will not work the he will nor eat” In fact his mandate for the care of the needy is reserved for Widows and Orphans, not any able bodied persons. That mandate fall on the Church and the Community not on any Government! In fact he clearly stated ” My Kingdom is NO part of this world “!
The honest among us cannot absolve ourselves of the responsibility to care for our less fortunate neighbor by giving large sums of money to a Government that, verafiably, spends it on lavash junkets to exotic cities and on overly equipt planes to carry our leaders all over the world! Charity is, and should be a very personal responsibility!

      • Deerinwater

“Charity is, and should be a very personal responsibility!”

If it gets very personal it quits being charity at all.

If it was a personal as you claim, how does these right wingers get the data to support their claim as being the most ‘generous’ givers of charity? Which by the way, never made much sense either unless they are include organized church giving, which I know for a fact are not comprised of exclusively “right wingers” .

      • DaveH
      • DaveH

And personal voluntary charity, Deer, is the only kind of charity. It is Theft when you give other peoples’ money.

      • Deerinwater

actually, there are many forms of charity .

. ALEC is a 501(c)(3)charity under the tax code. That means it’s not supposed to do any “substantial” lobbying — and its donors get a tax write-off for their contributions.

As a 501(c)(3)charity — similar to the Red Cross or a religious congregation — ALEC is allowed to do some lobbying. The rule of thumb is up to about 20 percent of the budget. But on ALEC’s annual tax returns, where it asks if the organization engaged in any lobbying activities, ALEC officers check “no.”

        Charity could mean:
Charity (practice), the practice of benevolent givings
Charitable organization, an association formed for charitable purposes
501(c)(3) organization which is a USA specific category for a public charity or a private foundation
        Charity (virtue), in Christianity
        Charity (name), a given name
        Charity (racehorse)
        Charity (programming language)
HMS Charity (R29), a Royal Navy destroyer
        Alms
        Altruism
        Places:
        Charity, Guyana, a small town
        Charity Island, Saginaw Bay, Michigan
        In entertainment:
Charity (play), a play by W. S. Gilbert
“Charity” (single), a single by Skunk Anansie
        Charity Shea, an

        Origin of CHARITY

Middle English charite, from Anglo-French charité, from Late Latin caritat-, caritas Christian love, from Latin, dearness, from carus dear; akin to Old Irish carae friend, Sanskrit kāma love
        First Known Use: 13th century
        Related to CHARITY

        Synonyms: almsgiving, dole, philanthropy
Antonyms: coldheartedness, hard-heartedness, inhumanity, inhumanness, mercilessness,

Funny, not a word about “voluntary” , maybe that is because it’s so damned obvious.

      • DaveH

Only a Liberal could believe that donating other peoples’ money is charity.

      • Meteorlady

So I work two days a week building Habitat housing. I also work for the program that mentors at risk children in my community. I am very involved in that work and it’s rewarding, unlike when I write a check to the Federal Government each year so they can redistribute what I make to those that don’t want to work, scam the welfare system, or scam whatever they can get their hands on.

Charitiy is voluntary, income taxes are not. Charities get more value from the money they raise than the Federal Government. In fact no one single person in this community takes a salary for running or working for a charity. It all goes to those that need it most.

      • DaveH

Considering that the average world income is $7000 per capita, I wonder what Deer and his fellow Liberal thieves are going to do when the One World Government distributes most of their wealth? I mean it’s just no fair that some citizens of the world have to live with so little when Deer has so much.
I think Deer belongs to this society:

Lets see – 17 bills that would definitely help my small business. Then count the three budget proposals that make sense in that they stop spending an start getting the deficit down. So everything that gets through the house is basically stonewalled on the Senate.

  • alboy

This is going to be one hilarious election campaign.

    • Deerinwater

Ain’t that the truth! Just watching the GOP primary unfold was a hoot! “999″ ! Watching a bunch of inept candidates dance about doing their Jig Dance and trying to hit every “Hot Button” at every whistle stop. The more serious they were the more comical they became.

While the end results certain long ago, a GOP voter will follow the money and hansom looks every time. The smell of money and curb appeal is the bait to catch a Republican.

What Cain thought he was doing and what his money backers knew he was doing were two different things.

Ron Paul was the only candidate that knew what he was doing and knew how it would end. He was there to plant the seeds for tomorrow. Last I heard, he’d cornered 12% in popularity. This being his second attempt, I’d think it be higher but having never changed his message, he never smelled of money and the GOP voter never changed their bait preferences, so 12 % is what it is, a Libertarian vote. If you look at it that way it makes good sense.

To think Rick Santroum, made it as far as he did, is a scary thought. He has such a lovey family, I would hope that he goes home and enjoys such good fortune. His dysfunctional Polly Anna views about free men and women and the role of government needs to stay localized and not permitted to spread.

“If you don’t have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare voters. If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from.”

That’s right Chip, that’s a powerful statement and it still ‘rings’ as true today as it did when Obama first made the statement. That’s exactly what Mitt Romney will have to defeat. Sadly, the only thing Mitt has in his possession to do it with is “Money”. Since his Track record stinks and he has yet to offer up any new ideas. Mitt Romney will say whatever he thinks voters wants to hear. That behavior turns democrats stomach, Mitt will not enjoy very many crossover votes.

      • jeepman1

That’s funny…you guys baggin’ on “999″. What’s your man’s plan? Oh yeah! Spend, Spend, Spend!

      • Deerinwater

Well, I admit 999 was simple enough to sell to anyone that can not hold a thought longer then 60 seconds. But I believe being easy to sell is only a virtue on the selling end. Something that only a Pizza Man would attempt to do. Two for one! etc! $9.99 for a 18inch with two topping.

I’m not sure what you mean by “our guys plan” ~ I suppose you are referring to the Federal government and the current administration? So far, Obama is only been fulfilling the duties of office at president and depends on the House and Senate of which in made up “your guys and my guys” If you don’t approve of what “your guys” are doing, that up to you to do something about.

There are many plans afoot, there are plans inside of plans but you would need to get beyond 999 to understand them.

      • Meteorlady

Why are you here on this site? You don’t cite facts, you make fun of things, and you call names and insult. I think I read my last comment by you. You just don’t make any sense to me. I own a business and I work hard only to find people like advocating that I pay more and more of “my fair share” when 47% of the people in this country live here and benefit from my hard work. Is that fair?

      • Deerinwater

I’m here for several reasons and I sometimes use hard data, return insults. Name call? rarely unless provoked.

So much of what many cite as facts here is little more a link to some liars blog. Political dogma ~ God politics.

I look at my time here like I would mining, I must go though a ton of crap to find a small nugget.

These small nuggets make the effort of wading though all the crap barely worth my time. But I have and make good use of these nuggets.

But still, it’s mostly crap, like most of your postings. You have made it perfectly clear that you work hard for little and that you are a victim.

It’s like you seem to believe only you work hard and only you are a victim of today’s systems and politics. Well Madam, that is just not true, for we are all victims of the same thing. It’s just that some of us has realized that life is 90% how you “elect” to react to it.

That you and your friend here elect to react poorly to the events thrust upon all of us is something only you can change.

I see this social leaning to the left and would agree that it’s undesirable and unsustainable. But it didn’t start today or yesterday or last year or just in the last decade, we been on this path for sometime now. I don’t carry your fear or your fever, I don’t react like you.

But this obsession of trying to live your tomorrows when they were never promised to you become a sickness. Live you minutes with one eye on tomorrow but don’t allow today to slip away and you wasted it worrying yourself to death.

I am here to offer opposition where i see opposition needed.

I will not allow any LOVE BOAT cruise, if i have my way. I hate pity parties.

      • DaveH

Who do you think you are kidding, Deer? You’ve been launching unprovoked attacks against Meteorlady repeatedly on this board.
You are one sick puppy, Deer.

      • Deerinwater

Hmm? Well? I told you that I really, really hate pity parties.

The demented calling someone “sick” doesn’t have much “stick” to it David. Try something else. Show me what you got~ be mean to me. Lean into the fight, quit trying to fling a bugger at me and expect me to retreat.

      • DaveH

Why would I want you to retreat, Deer? I want ignorant Liberals to post on this board so that the common person can see what you people are made of. You guys typically can’t back up your claims with factual references. You personally attack people who haven’t personally attacked you in any way as if that somehow wins the argument. You state emotionally derived conjectural Propaganda as if it were fact.
In other words, you have nothing but manipulative tactics to offer, similar to those practiced by eighth grade mental bullies.
The last thing I want is to chase your kind away.

      • Deerinwater

Well David , I’m not asking you for permission! I’m here as long as Mr. Livingston will permit it. I plan to be in your face like onions, when it’s convenient for me. I do have other responsibilities and commitment placing you at the very bottom of my “To Do” list. I’ve already gave you a good spanking once, I guess that it’s worn off. Maybe I let you up too soon. The next time I get you backed up it a corner, I’m not going to let up. Your personal embarrassment is no longer a consideration of mine.

“Baloney. Barack Obama has been campaigning for re-election for more than a year now (or, more accurately, about five minutes after he took office in January 2009)”

That is a very accurate statement Chip Wood, I see it that way as well. I also see ZERO days in the traditional honeymoon period. The current administration has been systematically endured orchestrated attack from both the GOP and her disfranchised hate group since the first day of inauguration. These relentless attacks have been ignored only to a point possible before answered with counter measures that could well be conceived as campaigning.

  • Harry

Don’t be side-tracked by the Dems and their buddies in the liberal media. Obama’s reign of terror must be stopped – and the only way to do it is to get a Republican in the White House. To really finish the clean-up job, also vote for Republicans to control congress.

  • Flashy

How can anyone profess to love America as the Right does, yet espouse daily a hate for Americans? You guys honestly believe you are patriots who want nothing but good for this country? And yet…you support a the promise of a campaign by the GOP and the Right which will make Swiftboaters and their lies of ’04 look like kindergartners?

    • cawmun cents

On a personal level I like you Flashman,it is your position on issues and conditions I take umbrage with.
I like that you stand for what you believe in.
But I dont like what you believe in.
Some folks find it necessary to impose their beliefs on others, and when the others dislike that tendency there is tension between them.It is…and always has been that way.
Its nothing personal, unless you make it personal.
That is when there is hatred. When an individual cant separate what they are from who they are.
Thinking that something is wrong, doesnt translate to hate, unless you make it about hate.
That is why we dont agree.I may feel differently about many conditions than you do,but I do not hate you.But when you make it ABOUT hate,BECAUSE I disagree with your position on a particular condition, then in your mind,it BECOMES about hate.
Again, that is why we dont agree.
The fact that you see hatred in me,reflects on your own perceptions, until you have foisted a HATRED on me that may not exist.
I do not hate homosexuals, but they will say that I do,because they are not separating what they are from who they are. They hear me say that I do not think homosexuality is morally acceptable, and to them that translates to me hating them.It is simply not true.
I can take an opposing thought to any particular subject, and it doesnt necessarily translate to hate unless the opposing person projects that upon me.
The kicker here is that there are people who want to impose laws saying my position on morality is not of consequence.I disagree with that premise. As do they with mine, but I have never made it about hatred.
But they have. They want to make laws saying the fact that I disagree with them and their form of thought is a hate crime. That is wrong no matter what you think.
How you get haterd from a differing opinion of morality,is in that this is a way to arouse passion for ones cause. But it is still not hatred until you project that upon me.
I do not hate yo Flashy,I disagree with your idealism, and you project hatred upon me.
      That is the difference.
      Cheers!
      -CC.

      • Karolyn

cc – I think the difference here is that you are a person who does not project hatred; however, many of your compatriots do. Those who post wishing ill on others, calling them moron and idiot, talking of hangings, etc. all project hate. They are obviously hateful people.

      • Flashy

CC….what makes you think i was referring to you?

Track the comments. if someone espouses or supports a policy which does not take the hard extremeist right position, or calls someone on some absurd statement…the vast majority of replies are not arguing the policy or position but are attacks against the writer and those who would support the position.

The extreme Right and American Taliban are driven by emotion…hate, fear, ignorance. this site proves that every day.

There are some posts which causes me to sit back and think and balance with my thoughts and statements. Those are challenging and have value.

BTW…i plead guilty to at times writing a personal attack just for the heck of it to rile folks. Not often…but there are times i admit I think such is called for and warranted. i ain’t a saint…yet.

    • DaveH

We love what America stood for, Flashman, not what you Progressives have turned it into.
This country was founded on Individual Liberty, NOT worship of the state.
And you’re the only one here who is talking about Hate. But then, that’s all Liberals have, isn’t it — the great skills of emotional manipulation.
It’s comical that you would use the word “honestly” in your comment, Flashman, since you have no credibility yourself.

      • Deerinwater

        DaveH says:
        April 20, 2012 at 8:37 am
We love what America stood for, Flashman, not what you Progressives have turned it into

And when did you ever live anywhere else? I don’t think that you did David, for if you did , you would love your country only more.

Screw “stood for” ~ live in the now . ~ Now is good.

      • DaveH

        Deer,
It is quite the opposite. Knowing what other countries have experienced at the hands of Progressives is exactly what proves to any thinking people that Progressivism is something that needs to be stopped before we become like them.
I do understand that Liberals don’t learn from experience. They expect when they make mistakes to be carried by others who have done the necessary thinking.

      • DaveH

Even if Progressivism did work, I wouldn’t want your kind of people making my choices, Deer. But it doesn’t even work! Progressivism has put countries in the economic tank everywhere that it has been unrestrained.

      • Meteorlady

Deer – my aunt and uncle lived in Argentina and watch the same thing as is happening here bring that country down. they were once second only to the US in producing.

So go study the history of Argentina and Venezuela and come back and tell me there isn’t an astounding sameness about what is happening here today…..

        I’ll wait….

      • Deerinwater

That was hot news, several years ago, ~ I was abreast then, ~ has there been recent changes?

    • http://gravatar.com/hattles JeffH

“Swiftboaters”…just another of many liberal code words that will fade away with time. Don’t think it will become mainstream liberal talk though. Gotta admit, never heard of it until a few weeks ago…eddie and falsy I think…and neither one with an ounce of credibility! Imagine that?

  • alboy

That is an excellent Republican plan.

  • Larry

Maybe we can run a commercial of Obama throwing every one off the cliff

  • Doc Sarvis

The main difference between President Obama and Mitt Romney is Mitt came from the 1%, looks out for the 1% (only), and has no idea how life is for the middle or lower class. Got to like his MA health care plan though.

    • FreedomFighter

At least he is not from Kenya, with 2 communist parents, hates America and eats dog, kneels on a rug and prays to a moon demon

      Laus Deo
      Semper fi

      • Doc Sarvis

And at least President Obama is not either.

      • jopa

FF;I never ate dog but it is totally acceptable to do so in other countries and is considered a food staple. What’s the big deal.I thought eating escargot was pretty gross sounding until I tried it one time and it was fine.Obama was a ten year old boy at the time so it actually sounds as if you are attacking a child for what he ate.Grow up already and be a man.

      • recce1

I must agree with you. We can’t judge Mr. Obama for eating dog as a child nor can we judge him by other cultures he’s lived in. My father was Army and as a child I lived in Germany. As an adult I was in the USAF and lived in many different countries including Japan, Thailand, Korea, and Greece and ate many different things, some I didn’t want to ask about. I’ve had deer (Bambi), turtle, shark, snails, buffalo, horse, moose, caribou, grasshoppers, ants, rotted cabbage, bird’s nest, rotten eggs, sea urchin, eels, bunny rabbits, snake, and of course dog.

Nevertheless, Mr. Obama brought this type criticism upon himself when he unleashed his campaign attack dogs to howl at the moon. He’s also gotten others to question Romney’s religious beliefs because his grandfather was born in a Mormon community were some others accepted polygamy, to claim that Romney was part of the KKK and rejected science, and that his wife never worked.

If a leaders allows such vilification of his opponents, and it’s likely to become much worse, why are his supporters crying foul about a fact, even though the fact isn’t really relevant.

By the way, Mr. Obama’s father was a Muslim, socialist, and bigamist.

      • Deerinwater

Was it Obama that offered up this criticism or was it “pundits” or are they both viewed as one and the same?

      • recce1

Deerinwater, as I wrote, “Mr. Obama brought this type criticism upon himself when he unleashed his campaign attack dogs to howl at the moon. He’s also gotten others to….” I also wrote, “If a leader allows such vilification of his opponents…” I didn’t say that Mr. Obama “offered up this criticism.,” There’s a big difference, is it not?

Mr. Obama and his handlers are masters of political deception. Those doing the attacks are hardly doing so without the knowledge, tacit assent, or even direct authority of the DNC, the White House, David Axelrod, Rahm Emmanuel, or Mr. Obama.

Considering the latter three are from the Chicago Mayor Daley Mob school of politics I’m not surprised at their tactics. Are you aware that hadn’t it been for Axelrod and his dishonest and perhaps illegal tactics Mr. Obama might still be an IL state senator? So its all of 7 of 9′s fault that Mr. Obama is president. Darn those Borg!

    • DaveH

What are you a Doc of, Doc? Hallucination? Obama is in the 1%. You would know that if you did any of the suggested reading:
      http://mises.org/daily/5776/The-State-is-the-1-Percent

      • Doc Sarvis

I have read this article and while anyone can make an argument that, since we are all unique individuals you can sort us all out into groups of 1 percenters (or less). I would also agree that the President of the United States (all Presidents) will fall in the 1% described in the article as living off of us the citizens of the country. THAT position and circumstance of President IS provided for under our Constitution.

      • DaveH

No it’s not, Doc. Read the Constitution. Read the Federalist Papers. The Federal Government was strictly limited in size until slick lawyers like Alexander Hamilton began chipping away at it with double-speak and other methods. Prior to Lincoln’s trampling of the Constitution, the Federal Government was mostly kept out of the Marketplace, and for obvious reasons to those who understand the natural inclination of Leaders to work hand-in-hand with their Crony Capitalists to feather each other’s nests.
Read this book by Thomas Dilorenzo, an economist historian, to better understand how our country evolved from Freedom to tyranny by the Politicians and their Crony Capitalists:
        http://www.amazon.com/Hamiltons-Curse-Jeffersons-Revolution—Americans/dp/0307382850/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334931996&sr=8-1

      • Doc Sarvis

DaveH, Are you saying that the Founding Fathers did NOT provide for a President?

      • Flashy

So Dave…are you suggesting hamilton..someone intracately involved in the formation of our government..was a subversive against the concepts of our beginnings? What’s your take on Burr? A national hero?

      • DaveH

Read the book, Flashman. You can read, can’t you?

      • DaveH

They provided for a President of the Federal Government, Doc. They didn’t provide for a dictator.

      • Void1972

        DaveH
People like doc, galt and flashy really don’t deserve replies. These communist despise America and all we stand for. It is their interest to destroy the country that has given them an incredible opportunity to succeed, but that opportunity was not enough.
The anger and ignorance in the black community is a disease that only they can cure, but the more our government gives, the more they expect, and so we give more and more and they do less and less.
How do you deal with a people that defend every immoral position they create?
Crime, ( it’s because the white man made me do it ) our prisons are 70% black, creating a massive financial burden to our tax payers.
Unwanted children, (it’s because we get free money for every baby, and the white man made me do it ) 70% of black children are born out of wedlock.
Do you think the 70% fatherless children and the 70% in prison are related?
High school dropout rate, ( it’s because school is not cool, why do I need school when the government will take care of me, and the white man made me do it) 50% of blacks drop out of high school.
Do you think the lack of education contributes to their ignorance, apathy, child bearing, crime rate and political views?
You would think that in 2012, with all of the opportunity and trillions wasted on these people that as a people they would be grateful for our generosity and have succeed by now like every other culture that has come from nothing and built themselves to be something positive in our society.
I guess as long as there are people like doc, galt and flashy that promotes idiots like the good Rev Al, Van Jones, Louis Farrakhan, Obama and all the immoral, lying, scamming, hateful, anti-American, anti-God, vermin like themselves, into role models for their ignorant clan, things will never change, and will continue to worsen.

The true Black man’s burden is themselves.

If you ignore the docs of the world, they will go away.

If we continue to ignore the above facts, our country will fail.

God bless America, and those who fight for her!!!!

      • Deerinwater

“The true Black man’s burden is themselves.

If you ignore the docs of the world, they will go away.”

I would think the same could be said for all men, regardless of color. Then to, the use of the word “true” needs development. Can there exist an untrue black man?

And I’m in question with your use the word “docs” , is that short for documents or doctors or something completely different?

      • Deerinwater

Oh! I got it! You fail to capitalize a pronoun , never mind.

    • Ted Crawford

One thing is certain here Doc. That is the fact that, untill he wrote(?) his books, Obama, like his Mother before him never made a dime that didnt come from the Public Treasury! Obama has never , before his Presidency, held any job, anywhere! In addition Obama has never ran, nor even been a junior member of a management team, a private business. His sole experience with the Public Treasury was to see how much money he could extract from it! As we can see by his economic policy so far, he learned that very, very well!

      • Doc Sarvis

Your criteria for certainty is very low while your capacity for twisting reality is very high.

President Obama worked in academia, had summer jobs (one at a gift shop in Hawaii after his first year of college; another making sandwiches at a deli counter, and a third with a company that processed health records of police or firefighters. In addition, during one school year Obama worked as a telemarketer selling New York Times subscriptions over the phone. He was a community organizer in Chicago, he was a Senator in Illinois, and a U.S. Senator.

      • http://www.mototcarsfinancial.com Brad

Wow Doc with a resume like that I can see how he qualified to become the leader of the free world. You my friend and Oblammer are the best examples of how even a blind squirrel can find a nut!

      • Ted Crawford

Well shucks Doc, I once steamed sweaters at a sweater factory, by your criterion I’m qualified to lead the wonderful NWO you Progressives are so desirous of!

      • http://gravatar.com/hattles JeffH

Doc, you are aware that Obama never has had any leadership roles in the real world? A Marxist commuity organizer is not a leader…a community organizer is a sh*t disturber.

Also, be aware that Obama’s “birther” attorney has now stated the Obama’s certificate of live birth, posted on the WH website, was a fake. Imagine that?

Last but not least…more Obama Marxist community organizer reality for you.

“Obama learned his lesson well. I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.” –Letter from L. DAVID ALINSKY, son of Neo-Marxist Saul Alinsky

“Obama helped fund ‘Alinsky Academy’: “The Woods Fund, a nonprofit on which Obama served as paid director from 1999 to December 2002, provided startup funding and later capital to the Midwest Academy…. Obama sat on the Woods Fund board alongside William Ayers, founder of the Weather Underground domestic terrorist organization…. ‘Midwest describes itself as ‘one of the nation’s oldest and best-known schools for community organizations, citizen organizations and individuals committed to progressive social change.’… Midwest teaches Alinsky tactics of community organizing.”

      • Meteorlady

Doc… you call those jobs? Why did he voluntarily surrender his law license? Why did Michell also do the same? Where’s the records? Why did they get a house loan for a house they could ill afford from Rizo? Community organizer? Is that like when I go to Habitat and help build houses for free? Is that like when I mentor at rist children in my community so they can make it to college? What is that jobs exactly other than advising people how to get more handouts from us working tax payers…?

Why did Michelle get over double the salary she was making in a local hospital (six figures) when her husband became a senator? Why did they not replace Michelle when she left their employment? Maybe she was there because she could get favorable things for them?

      • Deerinwater

        Ted Crawford says:

“Well shucks Doc, I once steamed sweaters at a sweater factory, by your criterion I’m qualified to lead the wonderful NWO you Progressives are so desirous of!”

Well, certainly Ted, you need only to acquire a degree and set yourself apart from other sweater steamers with the capacity to learn and excel.

    • Shane

Such sour grapes Doc Sarvis. It must be depressing to live in your skin. Where ignorance and slough, leaves low expectations and lack of wealth for losers like you.

Wealth is not the issue. But how you live it, and treat others.

You Doc Sarvis exhabits the classic example of those that hate other’s success. Using your statements, the Obama children whom are now part of the elite 1%, can’t run for office. Nor should they under your reasoning, be able to use their influence to push public policy.

Losers, losers, losers. Those that are jealous of others and what they have.

      Pitful!!

    • Meteorlady

Romney graduated Harvard with two degrees which is very difficult. A Law degree and a simultaneous MBA from Harvard Business School.

Romney graduated in 1971 [from Brigham Young] with a 3.97 grade-point average.

In 1975, he graduated from Harvard Law ‘cum laude’ and from Harvard Business School, where he was named a Baker Scholar and was in the top 5 percent of his class.

Unlike Obama he is able to speak to any sized crowd without a teleprompter and does quite well.

      So where are Obama’s records?

      • Deerinwater

Well , I’m certainly looking forward to seeing them go toe to toe Meteorlady. It’s good that you hold such confidence in Romney.

      • recce1

Deerinwater, by the way, Romney can even verify his academic credentials, grades, and papers. I know, I’m being snide but I couldn’t help it.

Obama is perhaps the better debater but I think Romney will hold his own. I just hope they, or perhaps I should say moderators of any debates, stick to pertinent issues about their visions for a future America.

  • vietnamvet1971

All he can do is Smear and Blame every one for his Failed Policies, he sure does not have a Record to run on, almost forgot, his style is to just Issue Executive Orders to get some thing done. He has told Congress he doesn’t need them to Rule.

    • THG

Vet , if I remember my history lessons correctly , That’s when Rome fell . When the Emperor decided that the Senate was no longer needed. The Emperor promised the sheeple of that day great and wonderful things and after a few more years the greatest Government of that time along with it’s people became practically nothing.

    • ??? Nicker

But remember obummer got Bin Ladin all by his self!!! oh SEAL TEAM 6 helped some What a crock obummer is!

  • Flashy

Well…the article does, in fact, demonstarte why this will be one ugly dirty election. The right’s tactics will make the Swiftboaters 2004 campaign of lies look like tissue paper. And Chip is starting it off with an ample demonstration of what we can expect from the Right…

i believe Chp left off the claim where Obama has sold us out to the Commies…but I have no doubt he’ll add an addendum later on …

    • The Blue Collar Man

Flashy. Sounds like all smoke and mirrors is your game. You fit right in witn obumbler. The problem is the smoke in your brain/eyes, allows you to ignore the fact that Poison obumbler is not about America, but about his destruction of our Country. If you would step away from the mirror, and focus on what obumbler is doing, perhpas you could see the truth.

      • DaveH

Flashman know the truth. He just doesn’t speak it. He’s just a Big Government shill here to harass good people who are seeking the truth about our lost Freedom.

      • Flashy

Dave…that’s the problem with the whacked Right and the American Taliban. They spin the truth and facts because that’s the only remebdy available to them. Spin and dostort and lie. They call themselves ‘patriots’ all the while supporting and being active to tear this Nation down.

        As an aside…

I will give you plaudits. I have read lately posts where people are saying they’ll vote for Romney because he’s the candidate and they have no choice. I honestly and truly believe you will stand by your convictions and not vote for romeny because he is the only canddiate..and you will hold true to your values 9however distorted they are ;) ..and vote Ron Paul.

I honeslty applaud you for that. And I honestly believe you have that stance. You will send a message and i do hope Paul garners 8-10% of the vote and that WILL shake things up in DC as Obama enters his second term.

As much as i realize it galls you to think I have some respect for you…in that i do.

      • DaveH

I rarely vote for Republicans, and never for Democrats. But, if I had been alive 150 years ago, I probably would have voted mostly for Democrats. That was before they became subverted by the Progressives.

      • Wyatt

Flashy the Flasher is so full of himself he doesn’t know which end is up . Swift Bost Campaign ? What was so terrible about that campaign Fashboy ? The lies being told were told by Kerry . His wounds may have well been self inflicted , he was told by one of the boat crew not to fire the grenade launcher as the range was much to close and he was struck ( and scratched ) by shrapnel from his own round . To then add insult to injurey , he then put himself in for his own Purple Heart . This should have been told sooner than it was . Somehow it slipped through and he got one , basicly for shooting himself and for a wound that was merely a scratch ( no stich’s required ) Its all it the book , Fast Boat . Flashman should read it sometime . Might help him smell what he shovels in here .

Kerry’s claims were and are an insult to every Vet who served in Viet Nam . He chose to lie about his service thinking he would get elected because of his service . Fortunately the Vet’s who served with him saw a higher alligence to their country than to a former service member . His lie is small potato’s compared to Obama’s long list and will pale in comparason to those that will be strewn about in this election .

        God Help Us All !

      • independent thinker

I read somewhere years ago that Kerry joined the Naval Reserve so he wouldn’t have to go to Nam however he just happened to join the only reserve group that was called up to serve in Viet Nam.

So you’re saying that those who believe in limited government, fiscal sanity, lower taxation for all, stopping illegal immigration but supporting legal immigration, ensuring voting integrity, and in a democratic Republic under the rule of constitutional law are destroying the country?

Only a socialist with complete disdain for the Constitution would say that, someone like Mr. Obama.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003309707389 Tom W.

And just what exactly did the Swiftboaters say that was proven a lie Flushdouche?!! How do you get to keep posting your propaganda on this site? Are you Bob’s nephew or something?!!

    • http://www.mototcarsfinancial.com Brad

No need Flashy you said it perfectly. He has sold us out to the commies, well said!

    • GiveAwayJimmie

flashy, you have demonstrated that you have no idea of the truth— you believe Swiftboaters were lying—–the people lying were democrates and your candidate Kerry!!!

    • Shane

Good one Flashy. Nice attempt to dilute the anti-Obama vote. For a vote for any third party canidate, is vote away from an Obama alternative. Which means a vote for Obama.

I’d vote for a three legged dog with a mangie tail, over Obama if he had a better chance of winning. So I know those that have their country’s best interest at heart, will vote for the one that can win. Not some immature wish list canidate, when there is so much on the line.

    • Meteorlady

So correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Obama’s campaing smear two of his opponents with sex scandals during his state senate run? They dropped out to save embarrassment to their families but it was later found that none of the accusations were true.

Didn’t that just happen with Herman Cain? Where are the facts in that case. Those women were found, paid for and floated back into non-exitence once they did their thing and got Cain out of the race.

  • dan

GOP solution ….select a canidate just a bit to the right of boss O to pull the lunatic left vote….alienate the tea-party …and ignore and marginalize Ron Paul with the aid of the mainsteam media who want Obama to win anyway….
    Just brilliant !
What ,wasn’t John McLame available for a repeat defeat so they had to go for the runner-up ?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003309707389 Tom W.

Makes ya wonder, don’t it dan?!!

    • MAP

I’m convinced, Dan, that the GOP is not part of the problem. It is the problem.

      • Meteorlady

No people like you that have a one sided view are the problem.. You vote for a party because you feel loyalty to people that feel nothing at all for you other than you are a means to get them into the elite club where you can be corrupt, inside trade and take money and presents from lobbyists.

      • Deerinwater

Right! the problem is ever where but under your nose. It hard to see such a problem with ones eyes only looking outward.

This this self indulgence and preoccupation with “self” run hard and deep with this crowd.

A unique character flaw many of you share, that why you have found each other! The rest of the world is crazy but you are the only smart ones.

I got it! You Got your own “support group” ~ “everybody’s been mean to me”,.”stealing my money!”

      • DaveH

        Deer,
Meteorlady’s comments are vastly more intelligent than yours.

      • DaveH

I can carry on a coherent, logical, and peaceful dialogue with Meteorlady even though we probably don’t agree on many things.
Not so with you, Deer. Like most Liberals you prefer the Liberal manipulative personal attacks over any kind of logical debate. And like most Liberals, you can whine about the Big Bad Business people’s transgressions, but then turn around without batting an eye to advocate forcibly taking other peoples’ money to be spent how you please, and forcibly making other peoples’ choices in a manner that makes the most ruthless business people look like saints.

      • Deerinwater

“I can carry on a coherent, logical, and peaceful dialogue with Meteorlady even though we probably don’t agree on many things. ”

That’s because you two share a common social dysfunction David, you both see yourselves as “victims” and your glass is always half full, you both simply fell out of the sky one day and owe nothing to anyone or anything.

      • Neil Swan

Vote the fraud out means get rid of the republicans in congress and the senate.

        Neil

      • recce1

It would mean voting out both Republicans and Democrats. That’s why I favor term limits.

However, would you, like Mr. Obama, want a socialist welfare nanny ONE-PARTY state?

      • Meteorlady

You can have term limits or you can vote them out, but along comes the next hand picked candidate to fill the spot.

WE NEED CAMPAIGN finance laws so that only individual VOTERS can support a candidate. No money to the national parties, just to the individual candidates……no more super PACS, no more corporate donations, no more lobbyists, no more special interests….

      • DaveH

        Meteorlady,
Campaign finance laws just cut down on the amount of information that people can get about new candidates, thus making it harder to unseat the incumbents. We just need to educate the voters so they can make wiser decisions. Our first place to start should be to push educational choice at the local levels.

  • Sirian

What we have here is a POLTUS – President of Lies To the United States. Obummer is the most proficient professional lier that has existed since Hitler, Stalin, Lenin & Marx. Should this not be evident to the common person, level of wealth be damned? Unfortunately, no. So many of us see directly through his well planned, well funded “con-game” yet the truth remains shadowed in his mesmerizing ability of speeches. Such speeches, with an ever present mesmerizing effect, provides open examples of the truth such as the lines upon lines of sheeple that eagerly seek out their heavenly gift from the messiah, “Obummer Money”. Without question such fools will never see that his profound intent is to nefariously destroy not only our Constitution but our country on a whole. With such ease, he has been taking aide from an entourage of progressive communists, Islamic radicals (Muslim Brotherhood), corporate fascists (Immelt), economic terrorists (Soros) and the subtle yet close relationship with an Anarchist (Ayers). A rancher by chance who holds a large herd of COWS that is being so easily cared for and directed by his various teams of cowboys (Van Jones – Trumka – Stern). Having been molded by not only his parents, grandparents and a shadowy communist figure by the name of Frank Marshal Davis, such a wonderful mentor of years past, it seems totally illogical, insane to an extent, that a man of such erroneous background should have weaseled his way into the oval office. Yet since it has happened we both have and shall continue to suffer that of which he wrote “The Dreams From My Father”. Is this not the year that We the People shall perhaps draw our last breath of Constitutional Freedom? That shall be finally decided in November. Lord, I pray that the eyes and minds of the many shall open and defeat the twisted minds of the few.

FreedomFighter, have you ever really fought for this country? It you had you’d know that those of us who did have eaten things not on you everyday American menu, things it was best not to ask your host about.

As an adult, I’ve eaten moose, caribou, lamb. deer, horse, grasshoppers, ants, bear, water buffalo, snake, snails, shark, eels, frogs, sea cucumber, rotten eggs, birds nests, Rocky Mountain oysters, fermented cabbage, and yes, dog. And I’ve been grateful to have the food. So why do you go after a child who while living in a foreign country ate what his foreign step-father did?

It’s a puerile attack. It’s like the Montana’s governor’s mealy mouthed attack on Romney because Romney’s grandfather lived in a Mormon community where some, but not his grandfather or father, practiced polygamy almost a hundred years ago. Of course we shouldn’t mention that Mr. Obama’s own father practiced polygamy according to his religion. However, that’s not the fault of Mr. Obama in any way.

By the way, Mr. (intentional) Obama isn’t a communist, he’s a Fabian socialist, something far more dangerous to the Republic. For his disdain of the Constitution he should be impeached.

However, please don’t use Semper Fi if you haven’t eaten strange things overseas as almost any true Marine has or use Laus Deo if you’re going to bear false witness.

      • George W. Bush

I can not stop laughing. I have never read so much BS in all my life. The GOP just made mister flip flop the King of the “well who the hell can tell if he’s lying he changes so much” their Presidential hopeful. And to compare Obama to Hilter, come on. By far the GOP has used and practiced more Nazi propaganda techniques than the left ever has. Lets face it, just like the Nazi’s they have their own “Ministry of Propaganda”. Hell, just listen to FOX news and Chip Wood. Jeffersons statement about a honest press is right on, shame the people who feel that way don’t see the deception carried out but their own “Free Press”. Like the little rich nerdy guy dating the hot cheer leader, completely infatuated and can’t see what is right in front of him. Shes in the car with the football team, her panties and bra hanging on the antenna. She tells him, “oh they are just drying, spilled a little water on them. Would you be a darling an go get me a burger.” He happily accepts that answer and run off to do as she wants. Interestingly enough the people of the right are not much different. The Shepards of the right, blogs like this and FOX news, pump out BS and half baked news, tell the sheep what Patriots they are, and off they go happily regurgitating the flawed information.

FYI! You know how you really make gas prices drop? Get big oil out of the pockets of wealth right wing politicians like Barton, Bohner, O’Connelly and others, open the America oil field up for bid. The company that bids the lowest price per barrel is the winner. Also, open the market up to outside sources to come in and compete directly. Lastly, we all pay for the freeways, but we do not pay evenly. Come up with a tax, toll, what ever, based on weight and distance travelled and do an “Engineering” correlation to damage it does to the roads. I can assure you, gas consumption will drop as people will pay their fair share. People will be more concerned about the weight of their vehicles which will improve fleet milage, reducing demand, and lower fuel price. Right wing BS about the bill lowering the price of fuel is just that political BS. It will only benefit those who are putting dollars in right wing politicians pockets.

DONT BE AN AMERICAN SELL OUT, VOTE ANYTHING OTHER THAN RIGHT! PROVIDED BY A PATRIOTIC AMERICAN COMBATING RIGHT WING SHEEP HERDING!

Like Chip Wood, you, Sirian, have spent too much time sucking at the Faux Noose gaspipe. Why don’t you come up for some air?

      • DocVenture

Alex, it’s precisely people like you who reject out of hand any possibility that Obummer is every bit as evil, conniving and manipulative as Sirian and Chip have stated. Only an idiot with his head buried in the sand cannot see that he has chipped away at the Constitution and the bedrock of American belief. Of course, I’m getting the sense that you don’t contribute any tax money (or likely anything else) to pay your way, so really…you have no skin in the game, and everything to gain by Obama’s handouts. Bravo, you are the 99% (of idiots that are hell bent on destroying this nation)!

Most, serious Conservatives have also read the Progressives playbooks! I don’t view the Progressive movement as simple opponents, people with the same goals but different ideas of how to achieve them, like the Liberals were. The Progressives are total enemies, people with vastly different goals, to our Republic, and a wise soldier always seeks to know his enemy!

    • Ellen

I find it interesting that people keep saying Obama’s tactics are like LBJ’s. LBJ was a disgusting, vile, amoral man. He would do anything to attack his opponents and buy votes. His great achievement – welfare – was touted as a way to help blacks out of poverty. In truth, LBJ used it to gain the black vote and it was an ingenious plan, as blacks have been voting Democrat ever since. But, in reality, it has destroyed the black society and decimated the black family. Instead of realizing this, blacks are brainwashed into thinking Republicans are evil and only want to take away their welfare. How can they t see reality? Their own people keep them ignorant.: Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters, etc, have made their living by exploiting their own.

      • MAP

A truer and more insightful comment, I have never read, Ellen. You are dead-on correct!

      • Palin16

LBJ was the worst president of all time. He had at least 8 people murdered, including his own sister Josefa during his quest for power. He then conspired with the CIA to assassinate JFK, promising the best damn war you’ve ever seen. When a congressional inquiry was about to be launched, LBJ and gay boy J Edgar Hoover got together and appointed the Warren Commission, all of them Johnson appointees who would write the story the way he told them to. Normal Secret Service protocol calls for all windows along a presidential motorcade to be closed, however numerous windows were photographed wide open at the Texas School Book Depository.

      • Deerinwater

so? what are you running for ? Dog catcher?

      • Meteorlady

Deer – in order to garner any respect from me you would have to have EARNED the money you need to survive. Earning money is one of the most ethical means of garnering respect. It is the most unselfish thing you can do. Earning money honestly through hard work is honorable. Exchanging that noney with others that have worked hard and produced something is even more honorable.

I worked hard, paid my way through college, worked menial jobs to save in order to start a business. I’m here only to find that everyone has their hand in my pocket and have climbed onto my back. Some days I wonder why I even produce or innovate when I pay about 53% (city, county, state and federal taxes, plus the cost of regulations and reporting) to various government entities just to exist as a business.

Then add in my personal taxes, property, income, employee payroll taxes, and other fees and crap and I’m lucky to keep even 40% of what I earn.

      • Deerinwater

You say “YOU” meaning anyone and everyone I’m left to assume. Or I’m left to take it “personal” . The last dollar that I didn’t earn if memory serves, wasn’t a dollar but a huge half a dollar silver coin my father gave me when I was 9. But there is little served in telling you about my 64 years of being the grandson of sharecroppers Meteorlady.

In as far as your statement “Then add in my personal taxes, property, income, employee payroll taxes, and other fees and crap and I’m lucky to keep even 40% of what I earn.”

That’s pretty typical and what we “All” are experiencing so don’t feel like the ‘Lone Ranger”

These days, I confess, I do touch more money then I have in my whole life! But that is only as one might hope it would be. After 41 years of doing the same thing year in and year out, I’m at the top of my game. I create wealth for myself and others. i have so much going on and some many irons in the fire, it cost me money to do this. But people don’t light my fires and work for me for free, my book keeper, my attorney, house keeper, yard man, and small staff of office help and field techs don’t work hard for me just because they like me.

They come to work from the reward of hard work and to take care of their business by helping me take care of mine.

But you seem to have a 5% edge on me, I work on something like a 34, 35% margin if I’m luck and everything goes well.

However, I’m not asking for anyone respect, respect is not for the asking. You command respect or you don’t. It’s not complicated. I don’t like it when people require me to be “firm” with them. But when I “ask” for something, it’s not a request.

      Sirian, kudos to ya!

Are you aware that the Media Research Center(MRC)is launching a new anti-liberal media campaign, “Don’t Believe the Liberal Media!”, for the upcomming DNC convention in Charlotte this summer?

While Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Barack Obama are hobnobbing with Chris Matthews, Diane Sawyer and Brian Williams in Charlotte for the Democratic National Convention wouldn’t it be nice if they got a little reminder of how real Americans feel about their socialist schemes?

The plan calls for billboards, taxi-tops, boots on the ground promoting their “Don’t Believe the Liberal Media!” message everywhere that they can for those four days in Charlotte .

What an idea! Those darn Tea Partiers!!!

      • Sirian

        JeffH,
Sorry I didn’t respond quicker, been tied up at the V.A. today – the usual. Oh yes, I know about MRC’s plans and upcoming actions for the DNC. OUTSTANDING!!! I get their newsletter and alerts too. HA, wouldn’t it be a hoot if the taxi-top campaign was running in NYC. . . LOL!!! There must be thousands of taxis in NYC. Just imagine how the networks, the Times and best of all, Bloomberg would react. If there was enough money available this should be a nation-wide campaign, with heavy concentrations in L.A., San Francisco, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, Madison, Washington D.C., Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Houston, Phoenix, Denver, Kansas City, St.Louis, Memphis, Birmingham and good old Nashville. Yep, that should cover most bases. . . :)

My brother goes to the VA here in Fresno. He’s pretty much satisfied with them. Hope your’s was just a general checkup and nothing serious.

      • Meteorlady

Wait – are they aware that Obama is using the Secret Service to declare “no demonostration zones or free speach zones” and they will be shut down.

      • Meteorlady

Ops – didn’t mean they would be shut down, but the chance is there…. I hope we can get this thing going – what a good idea.

    • PatriotAR15

This POLTUS you mention, is actually a POLLUTION! And he’s been “campaigning” ever since he set foot in the oval office.

    • PHAH KING

Obama the worst liar? This is a joke right? Bush and his buddies should all be in jail for treason! Talk about lies! We went to WAR based on their lies! Please! Money? Republicans like Romney are bought and owned.THEY care not about the constitution just big corps.

      • Meteorlady

That’s it? Bush again….. gads find something useful to contribute.

      • DaveH

Most of them are liars, PHAH. So what? Does the quantity of liars somehow make lying moral?

      • recce1

How is going to war treason, even if it’s due to misrepresentations or lies? Do you even know the constitutional definition of treason? Now if you said Bush should have been impeached for what he did, then I’d see your point.

By the way, Mr. Obama committed an impeachable offense by going to war with Libya without even consulting Congress. Also he’s taken foreign donations which is impeachable. Then there’s the issue of his claiming he has the right to order the detention and execution of American citizens without due process. I could go on as to why Mr. Obama should be impeached.

Sure, big money backs Romney. But he’s not the only who has been bought and owned; have you heard of George Soros? In addition, Mr. Obama has nothing but disdain for the Constitution despite his having been a “professor” of constitutional law.

As for the worst liar, how about Pres. Clinton?

A Long Read, But Worth Your Time:

      From bondage to spiritual faith;
      From spiritual faith to great courage;
      From courage to liberty;
      From liberty to abundance;
      From abundance to complacency;
      From complacency to apathy;
      From apathy to dependence;

    • James
