The Race To The Bottom

April 17, 2012 by

The Race To The Bottom
UPI
George Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Trayvon Martin.

With the revelation that poor George Zimmerman will be the target of a zealous (not to mention ambitious) Florida prosecutor, the sad saga of the Sanford shootout has cemented its position as the dominant news item of the moment. And while the public lynching of the as-yet-to-be-tried-much-less-convicted Zimmerman is noteworthy in and of itself, behind this sordid soap opera lies a much larger subtext of liberal hypocrisy and racism and its movie-monster lurch from ugly to obscene.

Although it would be unfair to implicate solely the corporate media in overcooking the Zimmerman story — after all, when the President of the United States blunders into the situation like Mr. Magoo on a three-day bender, it is news — there is no question that some in the corporate media have spun rhetorical lead from journalistic gold.

Chief among these is an outlet to which I not-so-jokingly refer as “the Democrat Channel” and you know better as MSNBC. To suggest that the talking hairstyles at NBC News’ idiot sister have stoked the Floridian fires undersells the point like suggesting three-day-old sushi is “ripe.” While nightly anchor Brian Williams and the cast of the “Today Show” try — and fail — to present themselves as journalists, the freak show candidates on NBCUniversal’s commentary outlet have managed to “Lean Forward” and fall out the window of credibility. The problem is not their overt bias; the problem is that when the supposed defenders of the public trust begin actively violating said trust on behalf of politicians, the truth suffers along with us.

As if the unfortunate business involving the phantom NBC editor who deliberately turned Zimmerman’s 911 call into a racist rant worthy of one of those “let’s lynch Clarence Thomas and his wife” psychos at Common Cause wasn’t enough, the junior varsity is so consumed by hatred that they make people like Williams look like Edward R. Murrow.

Forget about every mentally unbalanced host, every Barack Obama Administration flunky, every ivory tower elitist, every feminist harpy, every overheated eco-loon and every apologist for every tin-pot fascist from Hugo Chavez to Rahm Emanuel.

Remember instead: Al Sharpton. If there is one man who rivals Obama in tearing asunder the public discourse, it’s Sharpton. The man actually participated in a hoax that involved smearing feces on a teenaged girl. When Sharpton decided to make Trayvon Martin a pet cause, the left erupted in paroxysms of race-baiting animus. And now, he’s pushing a network that sent Pat Buchanan packing for expressing opinions considered detrimental to “the national dialogue,” to carry his racist hatefests live as both coverage and content. Worst of all, as of last week, he sports the endorsement of the President. Attorney General and alleged Operation Fast and Furious mastermind Eric Holder spoke to the Sharpton-led hate group National Action Network last week, suggesting he was “honored to be included in this annual gathering once again and bring greetings from a friend of mine, President Obama.”

MSNBC hosts were perfectly happy to demand everything short of execution for Rush Limbaugh when he got rough with Nancy Pelosi’s pawn Sandra Fluke. And now, with Sharpton leading the parade, Zimmerman is virtually a dead man walking. Interesting, considering the effort Sharpton expended trying to exonerate cop killer Troy Davis.

Obama’s ascendency has split this Nation in two (or more). Sometime soon, I’ll probably examine his role in the death of American civility more closely. But liberals are fond of demanding the government step on the throats of anyone who dares question them. I somehow doubt the same government that has allowed an unhinged cable network to tie Zimmerman to the whipping post without the benefit of a trial is likely to step in on the increasingly vile venom spewed daily on MSNBC. Therefore, it falls to us to know who is speaking and what’s being said. Sharpton and the tinfoil hat brigadiers are speaking.  And I am repulsed by everything they’re saying.

As an aside: I would be remiss if I omitted the fact that we are playing taps over the caskets of our servicemen and servicewomen to the tune of about a soldier, sailor, airman or Marine per day on average. Thank God for MSNBC. How noble of the network to distract us from maudlin reality with a good old-fashioned lynching.

I’m really tired of this. Martin was not the fresh faced 13 year old in the picture we are shown every day. Zimmerman is not withour fault either. Both people made really bad choices. Zimmerman by not following the 911 operator and steping back. I think Zimmerman is no more than a macho cop wannabe. But Martin could have just walked away, he didn’t have to attack someone who was mouthing off to him. Both are at fault, unfortunately Martin is dead because partly his actions.

Now we have short of a race war because of it. We don’t get the stories of blacks attacking whites just because their white. And why is this a bigger story than all the black on black crime? More harm is done in that community by their own than by any white people going in and harming them. This is only a big deal because people like Sharpton, Jackson and the Panther want to use it to advance their race war mentality. For them it has always been a them against us mentality. When Jackson talks about walking with Dr. King I want to vomit. He does not nor ever has represented what Dr. King was trying to accomplish.

We need to stop this. Both men made really bad choices. Unfortunately Martin was killed but he was not an innocent. Now his mother says she believes it was an accident, bull. I want to know what her motive is for that statement. You don’t go on national TV and demand someone go to jail, and be glad when someone is arrested, if you think it’s an accident. This whole thing stinks and I think the people who have pushed it into a major media story need to go to jail because they have taken something that, while unfortunate and needs to be handled by the law, is in no way any more a major news story than any other indecent that receives a mention on the nightly news. We see every night someone has been killed but they don’t make the national news. Why? Because it’s black on black and not a black man killed by an non black. Nor is it a black on white which never makes the national news and is far more common.

Stop blaming the white community for all the problems in the black community. Their problems will never go away as long as they don’t take some responsibility for the conditions they live with. Slavery was over 200 years ago and as a black manager I had told me once, it’s up to the individual to make his/her life what they want. He said he never felt he had been judged by the color of his skin. Instead blame the Liberals who have kept the blacks believing that they need someone to take care of them because they can’t take care of themselves, or they are owed something. No blacks who live now are not owed anything because of slavery and it’s impossible to repay those who were treated so horribly in the past. But I am not responsible for what people did 200 years ago so I only owe you what the gospel requires and that is to help you improve your life but you are also responsible for doing something for yourself.

  • john

Here is the foreseeable future..Zimmerman will be found guilty of some minor charge and get very little jail time..if any..and then the riots..murder and beatings of innocent people will commence just like in L.a> after the Rodney King incident..and it will be ok according to the media becuase it’s the letting out of frustrations from the black community.I’m fed up with the race card..the only ones that cry it are blacks..what more do they want? They got a halfy in the house..they get jobs and promotion based on affirmative action..and inlusiveness and diversity…whites get discriminated upon more than anyone..but we don’t cry about it..we work harder…poor George Zimmerman will never get a fair trial..the media already smeared and twisted this whole ugly event…the scary thing is that it can happen to any one of us.

  • Steve E

I can tell by these post that the court is going to have a hard time trying to assemble an unbiased jury. I can say that I do not know the facts in this case, and thus have no opinion in this case. However, I do not live in Florida, so they cannot select me to be on the jury.

  • Doug Rodrigues

So much focus on Zimmerman, and nothing mentioned about the Black on White violent crime ratio of 39 to 1. Will the “News” Media or Al Sharpton ever focus on the four Black thugs who beat, raped, and tortured a young White couple to death? NO. Will the “News” Media ever focus on the Black thug who raped, killed an 81 year old woman and nearly beat her old husband to death? NO. Will the “News” Media ever focus on the Black thugs who torched a 13 year old White boy with gasoline? NO. Along comes Zimmerman, whose investigation still hasn’t been released, and Zimmerman has already become the poster child of all that is wrong with White on Black crime. The question is, Why? Re-read that 39 to 1 ratio again of Whites being victimized by Blacks. Political Correctness is total BS!

    • http://liberty Tony

      To Mr. Rodrigues:
Oh really now!?! Well, can you answer this? What about the shootings in Tulsa, Ok. where two white guys gunned down 5 innocent black males. 3 died, 2 severely injured. That or the situation of Dreven White in Miss. That’s where he with 4 of his cronies with a pickup truck ran over a 49 yr old black garage mechanic James Graham. The drove over him three times to be exact. As they were saying , in baseball terms, three strikes and your out. Google, ” White Mississippi teen gets life sentences for death of garage mechanic.” This should open your eyes. Thanks!!

      • Wumingren

Well, Tony, the guy said the ratio of black on white crime is 39 to 1, so obviously there has to be some white on black crime. He didn’t say the ratio was 39 to 0 (which wouldn’t be a ratio in any event).

    • castaway

What about that five year old black boy, that drowned another younger sibling for crying too much in the bath tub? That incident was also swept under the rug.

  • 2WarAbnVet

We don’t know what happened between Martin and Zimmerman, but don’t let that keep you from posting all your suppositions.

    • Dave67

What was Martin doing to deserve being fiollowed with the police on the cell phone?

      Say it with me… Nothing

  • Average Joe

Well, after reading all of the comments…I have come to the conclusion that Liberals are just plain…. ate up….. with stupid….and there will be several of those stupid comments directed at me…for exposing them……..before they start : Whining isn’t pretty….shut yer pie-holes! Disengage mouths…engage brains……

    • Chester

      Joe, PRACTICE what you preach!!!

    • Raggs

:) …. I hope that when these idiot liberals find themselves in a life threatening situation that they realize just how stupid they are….

      • old hillbilly

consider the good effects of Darwin

    • Average Joe

“and there will be several of those stupid comments directed at me…for exposing them”

Congratulations Chester…… for being first in line…..

    • castaway

Joe, you are assuming they have a brain in the first place. Personally I think liberals are totally brain dead, and their own worst enemy.

  • DavidL

A child was was killed! A child was killed! This should be the central focus of our attention. At the very least, we need a full examination of the incident and the man responsible to explain himself before our criminal justice system. Just because you say self-defense, doesn’t mean it was self-defense. Due process will find the truth. If he is acquitted, so be it. If he is found guilty, so be it.

    • Rafael

Children of more than 6 feet tall like Trevor, kill all the time in this country, yesterday two (thugs) children robbed and beat a pregnant lady in order to take money from a convenient store. This has been politicized and sentenced out of the court, which is wrong. Remember O.J. Simpson?

      • http://liberty Tony

        Hey Rafael:
That doesn’t excuse George Zimmerman!! Have a good day now.

    • jorind

“A child”? “A child”? how many “children” are found with stolen jewelry, kicked out of school several times, out at 2:00 AM on a rainy morning, being in excess of six (6) feet tall and weighing approximately 190 lbs? A “child” my butt! Is Zimmerman guilty or innocent as charged? I don’t know, I wasn’t there. Were you?

    • castaway

Yes sir, a Six foot, six inch, child with a police record was killed. As we speak, in Afghanistan, and Iraq, children are, and have been more deadly than most adults.

  • Reflection

There are some key English words that describes the American people, based on its culture of “entitled to my own opinion”. I believe it’s Daniel Moynihan who said “everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not their own FACTS”. America is a culture of opinions in contrary to what are the facts/truth. The other thing lacking in the culture is everyone’s inability to discern the underpinning behind the issues. Poor Treyvon Martin and yes poor George Zimmerman are not the issue in these times. They are mere distraction to lead everyone from the reality of the changes that are happening daily to our world. When you read the comments on these posts it make me cringe because I know someone is out their analyzing and monitoring these responses and they are sitting back comfortable, knowing they are in control by the confusion of the masses.
Let’s look at some associated words and definition.

Confusion-a confused mass or mixture (a confusion of voices)

Unity-the quality or state of not being multiple (oneness/unification)

Selfish-concerned excessively with oneself; concentrating on one’s own advantage, pleasure or well being without regards for others…

Discern-to detect with senses other than vision, to recognize or separate mentally

I hope we can see where I’m going with this response because if we can’t then history has already repeated itself.

  • Patriot

There are numerous senseless killings every day without 1 mention in the media. The only reason this incident is getting this much media attention is because the ignorance of Sharpton, Jackson and the rest. Without knowing the facts they convicted this man, which is the epitome of bigotry because his name was Zimmerman and a black man was killed! Once they made insanely stupid comments, they now have to defend these comments & actions with even more idiocy. Since when does our President and others comment and focus on issues that they have no idea of the facts, has not our Commander in Chief learned his lesson? No, by now the people of this country know his game, he only comments when it feels it’s to his benefit, he is trying to promote social unrest and divide the law abiding citizens for his own means. Just remember in obamaland the “Ends always justifies the means”!

    • Flashy

the reason this situation is a national issue is to bring into the light the absolute stupidity and levels of danger the gun lobby has brought us to. Should someone be able to take the law into their own hands, be judge, jury and executioner…all without having to legitimize and answer for the action?

Should the public who aren’t physcotic and dangerously insecure have their Right to be safe and prtoected from a lunatic fringe who somehow thinks it is OK to be able to create a lawless land?

even in the Wild West days they weren’t so crazy to allow everyone to pack a gun and be law unto themselves.

      • Chester

Actually, Flashy, in the WIld West, if you had the money to buy it, you COULD carry a gun. In fact, carrying that gun may well keep you alive when that snake under the rock you are approaching makes it known he would rather be left alone, about three steps too late for you to change direction. Most people didn’t carry their long guns into town, although a good number of them were in saddle scabbards or under wagon seats. The one thing you did do was be polite to all you met and hope none of them decided it was time to use you for target practice.

      • castaway

Flashy how do you think we should be able to protect ourselves? With 911? Maybe you do not think we have a right to defend ourselves from these maniacs. The more blacks we have, the more crimes, and especially with the likes of Jackson, and Sharpton prompting, and grooming them to be violent. Get real man! You are an idiot, pure and simple.

      • Thor

‘Should someone be able to take the law into their own hands, be judge, jury and executioner…all without having to legitimize and answer for the action? ‘

Lessee, now…a crazed, rightwing religious zealot shows up at your house flashing his concealed carry permit and tells you he’s going to kill you and do terrible things to your family–try to convert them to Christianity, or something…and you, Flashman, are going to call the police, ask him to justify his actions…and, what, just hope for the best?

I think if you stay home, safe behind the anonymous keys of that keyboard, baiting conservatives–all in good fun, of course–with rhetoric and zero facts…well, you’ll be safe, Flashy. Come out of hiding and try to redistribute people’s property and take their inalienable rights away and I’d hate to have to predict your fate.

      • Flashy

“Lessee, now…a crazed, rightwing religious zealot shows up at your house flashing his concealed carry permit and tells you he’s going to kill you and do terrible things to your family–try to convert them to Christianity, or something…and you, Flashman, are going to call the police, ask him to justify his actions…and, what, just hope for the best?”

Naw…i’d invite ‘em in for a beer, and discuss the current events to where they get depressed and put themselves out of their misery … then i’d send the clean up bill to the widow who’s probably smiling and laughing having a good time ‘grieving” whilst spending the insurance money at a Club med somewhere…

      • Thor

Now you’re talking, Flashy…er…is that ‘Dreamy’?

    • mark

The end always justified the means in Bushland, too. Remember the lies to the American people about Sadaam’s nonexistent nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons to justify the illegal and immoral U.S. invasion of Iraq? Fears over 9/11 used by Cheney and Bush to push through the Patriot Act? No one party or set of political leaders has a monopoly on “never let a good crisis go to waste.” Exploiting such matters is as American as apple pie and exists all throughout our history. Look at the Cold War, the Yellow Peril, the “grave danger” of Catholic immigrants coming to our country in the 19th and early 20th century. America is the Republic of Fear. This has never changed and never will. We are among the most fearful and frightened people on earth, thanks in large part to our government and political demagogues. Hence our tendency to lash out irrationally and constantly slaughter innocent others ( i.e. the vast amount of the civilian dead in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, the Dominican Republic 1916-24, Haiti 1915-1934, Mexico 1914-1917, Cuba 1898-1934, the Philippines 1898-1914, Mexico 1846-1848 and on and on…..) Irrational fear is the lifeblood of America, that and a never-ending desire for greater and greater material weatlh. Hence Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, Jack Welch, Warren Buffet, etc. as the ultimate American heroes.

      • Chester

Yeah, we all know what Saddam didn’t have by the time we got there to search for them, but it is also common knowledge that he DID have and use chemical weapons not all that long before we went in. And, if he didn’t have anything, why was he so dead set against allowing anyone in to see that there was nothing there? Had he done that one simple thing, he could well still have been running the country.

  • Dave67

“Poor” Zimmerman???? Really??? What was Martin doing when Zimmerman called the police and was following him? Oh…. Thats right… Nothing.

Zimmerman is a scared little man and needs a gun so he could be judge and jury over a man’s life even after the police told Zimmerman to back off. Martin may of beat up Zimmerman but in no way did that deserve the death sentence and Zimmerman is not qualified to carry out such a sentence.

People like Zimmerman are scared little rabbits…. Then they are manipulated by people like the NRA to get guns for “protection” only more often than not, this is what happens and not the fending off of a bad person. We live in a country of scared people and the idea that guns are like toys. Then you put the idea that any dispute needs to be settled by violence and you have over 20K handgun murders each year.

Zimmerman belongs in jail… End of story.

Poor Zimmerman? HA! Poor Martin… he is the one who is dead.

    • Chester

Dave67, you are the first one to bring the NRA into this, and even YOU should have left them out. What happened here had nothing to do with NRA and all to do with two men and one man’s stupidity.

      • Dave67

Sorry Chester, the NRA are part of the problem. They use fear to gain members and insert boogeymen where none exist. They say you need a gun to protect yourselves from the gov that YOU elect. They went from a sensible organization to a “sky is failling” extremist organzation so Wayne La Pierre can have his lavish lifestyle.

      • 2WarAbnVet

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” – Thomas Jefferson

“… to disarm the people is the most effective way to enslave them…” – George Mason

“Arms in the hands of individual citizens may be used at individual discretion…in private self-defense.” – John Adams

“Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence.” – George Washington.

      • Dave67

        2war,

Do you realize our Gov has WMD’s, Aircraft Carriers, Battletanks, Aircraft, Missiles etc?

Do you also realize you vote for your representatives?

Do you live in this much fear of gov everyday?

      • 2WarAbnVet

The “government ” has all these things, but the people who operate them, unlike politicians, actually meant it when they swore to defend the Constitution. They are unlikely to permit themselves to become the tools of oppression. Concerning your final sentence, I’ve noted that those least able to depend on logic are the first to cast aspersions.

      • Dave67

        2war,

So you point is what? According to you, we need the guns to defend against tyranny from the gov yet the gov is part of “we the people” that we elect into office. Our military is a volunteer force so are you trying to equate the United States of America with countries like Saudi Arabia?

Again, why do you live in this much fear? You could be living such a better life if you did not.

      • 2WarAbnVet

I don’t “live in fear”, i’m armed and trained. I do dread for the future of my nation and the of my grandchildren if we do not turn from the Marxist/socialist agenda currently being permitted to take hold here.
Incidentally, I’ve spent several years in Saudi Arabia. You can safely walk the streets in any Saudi city.
I do wish you’d but out. I’m tired of being lectured to by someone who has done noting for his country or anyone else during his entire life.

      • Dave67

        2war,

You know me so well don’t you? You have no clue who I am or what I have done. Just because you are armed and trained, that doesn’t mean you are “scared”.

Your post makes no sense… So Saudi Arabia is a societal model you like? Well… over there women know their places, they have a class system based on the nationalities of the guest workers and keep under control by religious dogma that by the way, advocates death to America and Israel.

I do have a question. Do you know what Marxism/Socialism is? By your statement, you clearly do not.

      • 2WarAbnVet

Yeah Dave, I do know you. You’re one of those self-important folks who thinks he knows enough to tell other people how to live.
you’re shotgunning bits in the hope (forlorn, I know) that something will hit. You want to tell me about Saudi Arabia as though I learned nothing about it when I lived there 1971-72, all of 1979, and 1990-91.
You want my take on political philosophy? I’ll put it in simple terms in the hope you might comprehend. Fascism/Nazism is characterized by private ownership of business and industry, with government control. Marxism/Communism is characterized by government control and ownership of business and industry. These two philosophies aren’t so different, and are basically first cousins, and – most importantly – they are of the Left. What we’re seeing with the current administration is a drive combining the two. Since it is something completely new, it’s fair to call it “Obamunism”.

      • Dave67

        Well 2Ware,

I am here to tell you do know nothing about me. Even less about communism. (Communism is the group, not the individual owning business and private) property. And if you are going to accuse Obama of communism, you have to back that up with actual facts. You have none….
I do not tell anyone how to live except my children, but I, like you can tell you what I agree or disagree with but its bad when I do it and ok when you do it.
So you saw its safe to walk down the streets at night in Saudi? Well great! When do you move? in Cuba, there are soldiers at every corner so not much crime there either… Is that the model we should strive for? Of course not.

      • 2WarAbnVet

Now you’re just rambling Dave, and going farther afield to do so. If you’re not a typical liberal sycophant you’re providing a good imitation. Arrogance and ignorance make a toxic combination

  • mark

Poor George Zimmermann? You’ve given away your egregious bias there, Ben. Why not let the courts and a jury adjudicate this matter. Last I checked poor George Zimmermann was still alive. Can’t say the same for the unarmed other guy.

  • GiveMeLiberty

To all of you liberal folks who believe the police will keep you SAFE…NOT….I say this, “I’d rather be tried by 12 of my peers than carried by 6″!

Did GZ act slightly aggressive? Quite possible but I’d rather be alive and prove I was defending myself than be taken out by a DOCUMENTED THUG PUNK!

    • eddie47d

Trayvon probably thought the same thing in wishing he had a gun to protect himself from someone stalking him. Everyone says they have a right to defend themselves (which we do) so shouldn’t Trayvon have had that same privilege to equalize the situation?

      • castaway

Eddie, it sounds to me you would like every “Punk Gangbanger”, Like Trayvon, with a proven record, to carry a firearm.

      • http://Aol CommonSense4America

He was not old enough to buy a gun.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1440488814 Kevin Johnson

I’m amazed by the reactionary remarks in this posting!
Each side kinda makes sense, except the ones that are overtly racial.
The facts are as timblosser stated.
The ‘ass-u-me’ tions are spoken as though, knowledge of facts don’t matter!
And Agape,,,I don’t believe that President Obama with declare martial law to continue conrrecting the direction that President Bush placed us, by declaring a war against the wrong country, to continue his raping of the country resources.
Now, I do agree with Mary Burton in that we will be going to hell in a hand basket, ‘IF’ individuals on both sides are mis-using the incident for individual recognition & monetary gain.
Yet the difference is that one side desires to continue it’s misuse for the destruction of the other.
And the other just wants justice for every American.

  • http://www.cindynel.co.za peter

Thou shalt not kill! People in glass houses etc. etc. Obama and his cronies are responsible for the deaths of thousands so it is best he make peace with his God before he opens his mouth to judge, victimize and convict anymore. He is just as guilty as Zimmerman is of murder, he just doesn’t understand that. Humans have totally lost their way and no longer even begin to understand the difference between right and wrong and that includes the sanctimonious potus. Humanity has made so many laws it is incredible. The problem is that laws are only required for those few who need to be kept in line, but when so many choose to make a convenience of those laws in order to protect their own skin, the whole system becomes a joke, which is what humanity is – a huge joke, but is anybody laughing?
There remains no doubt that Zimmerman will be convicted so let the law take it’s course and leave it at that and rest assured that there are many more crises and disasters ahead, because that is what humans are best at, creating more and more mayhem as they go, until?????????????????are we all crazy? Just look around at what we have done to the planet and to one another and then make a decision. We actually hero worship humans who have caused more destruction than a 500km wide meteorite would do. If that is not stupid then I do not know what is.

    • absolutely amazed

Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, and cronies started these wars. The one legitimate target they couldn’t get was bin Laden, but Obama did.

      • Flashy

        GM up, bin Laden down.

        ’nuff said

      • Chief

Absolutely Amazed: I want to thank you for your truthful information all along I have thought that special; forces had gotten Ben Laden did not know the president was the one to do it.Boy how revealing. Thanks a lot for setting me straight really appreciate that.

Fact is chief, had special forces failed in their attack, who then would you have blamed? It is always the leader who takes responsibility for both success and failure of an order and special forces awaited orders from their superior before attacking and before that superior could give that order, he had to have received the ‘go-ahead’ order from his superior which was most likely Obama (just to shorten the list).. So, responsibility wise.. Obama had gotten Bin Laden.

      • 2WarAbnVet

Yeah, I’ve heard it before. Obama made the “guttsy decision”, a decision that eighty percent of people picked at random from the phone book would have made.
We’ve all seen the famous photo of the White House Operations Room during the raid. Who is that frightened guy cowering against the wall?

      • Buster the Anatolian

2¢ worth… I have heard that obama did not make the decision to go after bin laden. I have heard it was Panetta that made the decision because obama wouldn’t make one he kept flip-flopping on the decision. Don’t know if that is true but i have heard it.

      • Robert Smith

Question asked: “Fact is chief, had special forces failed in their attack, who then would you have blamed? ”

There is already a precident for that.

    • James

Peter Peter Jesus said” thou shalt not MURDER ” and he later defined murder as the killing of the innocent it is yet to be proved if travon was innocent or not of assault but the changes in story by the mother…. Presents a pattern of willingness to fabricate a story. Further Jesus said I gave you life and no man has the right to take another’s except for a very narrow yet broad clause he put in it states that we are to respect each other to such a high degree that we are not to so much as to even threaten one another for if one threatens the other the one threatened will have no choice and further if one bears witness to such threats they are not innocent either. GOD has a great deal to say about cowardice, fear is not of him are you trying to use GOD as an excuse for your cowardice mr Peter or are you evil or are you just another pathetic ignorant ass-clown?

      • James

I am not this ‘James’ but he was referring to Matthew 19:18: “Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder…etc.”

  • Butch

I’m no fan of shameless race-baiters like Sharpton, Jackson or MSNBC BUT…”poor George Zimmerman”???? If that idiot didn’t stalk then shoot some kid NONE of this crap would be happening. All he had to do was let the cops handle it, he was overzealous at best or salivating to shoot a “nig-ger” at worst. Zimmerman deserves NO sympathy. Just justice. At the very least he should get manslaughter.

    • Silicon Doc

So you actually think he called 911 then stalked and shot the “kid” because he’s a racist dying to do so ?
You’re clearly a few cards short.
With his nose broken and his head bouncing off the cement next to his escape vehicle which all reports have openly declared the night lurching trouble maker cornered him at before starting the beat down, he suddenly had “his plan” to carry out his “racist crime” come to fruition… ?
Let’s pretend Mr. Zimmerman was a cop. He couldn’t find the young man, he returned to his vehicle but before being able to enter it and leave, the perp popped up and started beating the officer on the ground. The officer drew his gun and fired, killing the young man.
Are you still calling it a stalking and race inspired murder ?
There’s a clearer view for you, which you desperately need.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000614137769 Zachary Wilson

How is George Zimmerman a scapegoat? What happened to being held accountable for your actions? He’s just a punk who was out looking for trouble! No one who is not a law enforcement officer or a certified armed guard should be able to leave their home with a loaded firearm!

    • PIlot

What a fool!!! I carry, and have the right to defend myself from the many of armed and dangerous thugs and gangbangers out in the public today. disarm the honest folk and what do you have? A flock of sheep amongst wolves

      • Flashy

What and who will protect me and my loved ones from you? i should be able to rely on the law … but since you’ve decided you should take the law into your own hands…where is MY protection?

        Frippin’ lunatic…

      • mark

But the adolescent who George Zimmermann killed with his pistol, Trayvon Martin, was NOT armed.

      • CZ52

“What and who will protect me and my loved ones from you? i should be able to rely on the law … ”

Tell you what flashy you can rely on the law all you want but as for me I cannot carry a policeman around with me 24/7/365 so I will just have to depend on myself for my protection. I have had three occasions when I was glad to have a pistol with me once in home and twice when outside my home.

      • http://Aol CommonSense4America

Flashy,,,here is a news flash for you. Cops come to the scene of a crime. That means AFTER you are shot. Secondly, cops don’t carry guns to protect you. They carry guns to protect themselves. Please protect yourself and family. Stay safe.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000614137769 Zachary Wilson

What an [offensive word removed] I lived in NEW YORK CITY in the BRONX for 55 years and I don’t carry any weapons and I’ve yet to see these so called wolf packs roaming around preying on the helpless public. It’s fools like you who would be happy to pop a cap in someone’s ass just because of your foolish thought process. I’m not saying there isn’t any crime and in some instances danger to the public out on the street from time to time, but if every ass hole who thought like you carried a gun instead of the proper authorities who by the way are trained to properly access potential trouble and still make mistakes, I guess you would like that better.

      • Wumingren

You don’t have to be armed to bring lethal force against another person, but if you insist that the attacker must be armed before he may be defeated with lethal force, then I will say that Trayvon Martin was armed. Yes, he was armed. He was armed with a strong pair of hands and a sidewalk into which he was smashing George Zimmerman’s head in an attempt to extract the man’s gray matter from his skull.

The fact that Trayvon was trying to kill George is enough to validate the use of lethal force. One need not consider any other aspect — not the size of the attacker, not the gender of the attacker, not the race of the attacker, not whether he was armed — no, there is no test but whether the attacker was attempting to maim or murder the victim. That is the sole justification for the use of lethal force.

If someone attempts to maim or murder me or my loved ones, I will use lethal force to stop them, and I will not be taking the law into my own hands, I will be taking my life and the lives of my loved ones into my own hands. Too bad for you if you don’t have the balls to keep yourself or your loved ones from being maimed or murdered.

    • Americanjoe

To Mr. Wilson and Butch, it must be great to live in a safe secure community, that is what Mr. Zimmerman wanted, but thugs like Martin aren’t happy with a welfare check, they have to steal other peoples property. Well some “other people” take offense to having their property stolen and to being bullied. Cops aren’t always there when needed and if the rules are based on the jungle, then arm yourself for survival in the jungle, a gun works well when attacked by a wild beast. Mr. Martin chose his fists and lost to that great advancement of civilazation, the gun. BTW, who said the cops were coming?

      • eddie47d

Trayvon Martin was not on welfare and his mother worked so you have him found guilty with unfounded and typical racist remarks.

      • PIlot

I am with you Joe! Some of these folks expect the gov. to take care of them under all circumstances. What a bunch of lemmings. Protect yourself, if you wait for the law to show up they could be looking at a corpse. I would have never have thought the U.S.would be so full of whiney, crying A-Holes as it is today.

      • Flashy

“I would have never have thought the U.S.would be so full of whiney, crying A-Holes as it is today.”

Pilot, i agree. wish they’d quit whining about the need to compensate for their lack of balls and have to carry a gun around everywhere because they have no frippin’ backbone…

    • Chester

Mr. Wilson, I do beg your pardon, sir, but there are a LOT of people who are not only qualified to carry concealed, but justified in doing so. Take any waitress working the three to eleven who has a nice long drive to get home after she leaves work and ask her if she would be better protected if law enforcement were the only ones to have legal guns, The same is true for a lot of gas station operators who are on duty all night long in areas where the police are nearly as hard to find as hens teeth. Do you let any ding-a-ling who can pick up a big stick carry out your night’s reciepts or force you to take him home with you so he can rape and/or kill you at his leisure? Or do you go through the paperwork and classes and get your own concealed carry permit and a nice piece of hardware that can save not only your life, but the lives of your children and family? Do a lot of thinking about all this before you take guns away from law abiding citizens.

      • http://Aol CommonSense4America

Why is it that when liberals/progressives don’t want something (guns), they don’t want you to have it either. When conservitives want something (guns), they buy them, but if you don’t want one, don’t buy one.

    • http://liberty Tony

      To Mr. Wilson:
Although i disagree with you when it comes to carrying a firearm; however, you’re definitely right about that pathetic self failure of Zimmerman. What needs to be cleared up here is that it isn’t the law that was bad. It was the individual, who did a bad thing to make all other responsible gun owners look bad. Thanks!!

    • castaway

You must be a dumb cop. My 2nd ammendment gives me the right to own, carry, and defend myself anywhere, anytime. The cop types have proven they cannot save your sorry ass in an attack on your life. All they can do is fill out a police report, and they will use every tool they have to pin it on someone, and it does not need to be the actual attacker/murder.

      • Flashy

castaway…that’s not accurate about the 2nd. nice try though spewing the standard line of gun totin’ NRA BS

      • Dennis48e

Flashy why don’t you enlighten us about the second amendment since you seem top know all there is to know about everything.

      • Buster the Anatolian

Well Flashy what do you say is the meaning of the 2nd Amendment.

While you are at it why don’t you address the FACT that the police are very rarely present when a crime is being committed. They show up after the fact and fill out reports then try to find someone to prosecute for the crime.

      • Flashy

Sigh…once again. the 2nd is not so people can pack around guns for what they prceive to be personal saftey reasons. the 2nd is to protect US from military or governmental takeover. Got it? The Founding Fathers (all of them) didn’t give two cents about personal protection by way of guns. They were concerned that what they just fought a Revolution for wasn’t going to occur again. There is NO Constitutional right to own a gun for personal safety reasons.

      • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

        Dear Flashy,

You write: “The Founding Fathers (all of them) didn’t give two cents about personal protection by way of guns.” Really?

“Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property… Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them.”–Thomas Paine

“Arms in the hands of citizens [may] be used at individual discretion for the defense of the country, the overthrow of tyranny, or in private self-defense …” –John Adams

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater … confidence than an armed man.” –Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria in On Crimes and punishment (1764).

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • Buster the Anatolian

Well Flashy Mr Livingston has done a fine job of presenting an opposing position with supporting documentation where is your supporting documentation to “prove” your position?

      • Buster the Anatolian

Well Flashy I see you still have not addressed the FACT that the police are very rarely present when a crime is being committed. They show up after the fact and fill out reports then try to find someone to prosecute for the crime.

  • http://timblosser.wordpress.com timblosser

You can’t have it both ways. “Poor” George Zimmerman? I think not. Was/is he the victim of a witch hunt? By some. Take that dimension away though, and the facts remain that a.) he was carrying a gun contrary to the policy of Neighborhood Watch, that b.) he shot an unarmed pedestrian, and c.) he targeted Martin because he ‘thought’ he looked as though he were ‘up to no good’. Is the Florida prosecutor ‘zealous’? I don’t know, and if that is the case, I for one prefer my prosecutors to be zealous. Over-zealous racism on one side of the equation is no excuse for reactionary sympathy on the other.

  • Agape

you know what they are doing… if they start a huge race riot, obummer can declare marshal law and avoid the November election, allowing him more time in office. and he most certainly has stirred up a race war, along with his cronies, sharpton and jackson. do any of them really care about America or her citizens? no. they don’t and never have

Agape, do you realize just how close we came to having king George the First(better known as Bush 2) sitting on his throne in Washington? For sure it was a lot closer than we are to having martial law declared over Zimmerman. All that was needed then was any sort of terrorist action inside the U.S. Things aren’t nearly as hot now as then, so don’t expect any problems from the military you don’t bring ujpon yourself.

In the good ol’ days when America was “back with God” our nations bought and sold human beings, slaughtered and robbed land from Indians and Mexicans, fought expansionist wars to seize territory from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Panama, Guam, the Philippines, etc. God-fearing America segregated blacks and denied them their basic Constitutional rights, subordinated women, denying them the right to vote and the opportunity to earn men’s wages. I and millions of other Americans don’t want to go back to those “good ol’ days when America was one with God. With all our current problems, I will take them over the egregious crimes and atrocities of America’s “golden days.”

Just one government from the past or present that has more perfect than the one that our forefathers created. None such government can be named.

George Zimmerman is now the national scapegoat. It does not matter what he did or did not do, the media has already convicted him, and the prosecutor is out to make a name for herself. Remind anyone of the prosecutor in the lacrosse team case a couple of years ago?
People like Sharpton, Holder, Obama,Jackson, the Congressional Black Caucus, etc. are the ones that are the racists in America.

      • Flashy

if you think about what the rants are here and in the media…the most heated rhetoric is that Zimmerman is being asked to account for his actions. Perhaps the gun lobbyists/industry and the lunatic fringe should be worried about the public scrutiny of the wacked out allowances for allowing everyone to carry at will and be able to take the law into their own hands.

Otherwise, there is no rational reason not to have Zimmerman explain and prove himself.

      • vicki

Flashy unintentially makes a good point. Had young Martin been allowed to have a gun he could have defended himself (presumes he was the victim)

This just goes to show you that gun control gets people killed.

    • Flashy

I had a good laugh at those calling the DA “overzealous’ and “out to make a name for herself”. Criminey…talk about handling Zimmerman with kid gloves..this prosecutorial team is doing just that.

Over charge and set the level of conviction high, then have a trial and let Zimmerman legitimize his claim he acted in self defense.

If they were going for a conviction and being zealous in the prosecution, the charges would have been Manslaughter. All they did is cahrge according to the “crime”. If Zimmerman can legitimize his claim of self defense…he walks free and name is cleared. if he can’t, then the act is viewed as if he did not act in Self Defense.

Over zealous prosecution my as* ….

They did what was appropriate. You kill someone and claim self defense…then all that is asked is you show you acted in self defense. Otherwise, you snuffed someone and have to accept being held to account for your actions.

      • MAP

Or the liberals begin a campaign of ‘weeping injustice’ and Zimmerman is persecuted rather than prosecuted out of fear of race riots. The example of the Rodney King fiasco is still fresh on many minds. In that scenario, Zimmerman receives no justice, but becomes a victim of the liberal agenda.

  • Moby49

So who is alive and who is dead?? You article would have us believe Zimmerman is the victim. Your twisted hatred of Obama obscured that fact.

Well said. Trayvon was NOT the cute, sweet/mild looking, skinny little kid shown in the photo that his parents released to the media. He was much older and MUCH larger than the five or six year old photo. If Trayvon did, in fact, approach a retreating Zimmerman from behind, then ‘da victim’ was the one who pursued! This ‘little victim’, basically, put himself back into the situation! By the way, this ‘sweet unarmed little kid’ had been suspended from school because ‘burglary tools’ were found in his locker or backpack-among other suspensions. Apparently, the school is racist, too. This could be the ONLY explanation of why they’d suspend such a sweet little kid!!! As far as your comment about being able to tell who is black because they speak without thinking-I have heard tons of highly fecal laden garbage come out of the mouths of some whites and other races! I think that these peoples’ race is more identifiable by how they pick + choose what they believe or ignore, thereby, furthering ‘their case’ when they can and stating their opinions as fact. This is a tragic occurence on all sides and all aspects. I hope we reach a time where race isn’t even addressed in situations like this. By the way, why isn’t it a ‘hate crime’ when blacks kill a white while car jacking, home invading, mugging, or just for the fun of it?

    • eddie47d

How many convicted OJ Simpson before that trial and had him hung out to dry? Even when he was acquitted his life was ruined. No one yet knows the right answer and he may have been guilty. We absolutely know Zimmerman killed Trayvon under suspicious circumstances and there must be a trial to sort this out. Even if we find justice the anger will linger for quite some time whether guilt or innocence is declared.

Unless of course it was Martin who “made contact” by punching Zimmerman in the face. Of course Tony and TonyD were not there and have little clue as to what happened. Then again neither was I.

But I am not calling for Zimmerman to be locked up either.

    • Americanjoe

Poor TonyD, can’t see the forest for the trees. Zimmerman only responded to the 911 operator, made no direct reference to race, is under no obligation to obey a 911 operator, yet he returned to his car where he was soon confronted by a much larger and stronger thug. What is a 17 year old doing out at 2 am? How about no good, but pea brained village idiots have already convicted Mr. Zimmerman based on their emotions and not fact (still to be discovered). Go back to your tribe and lick the boots of your master because the rule of law is way too advanced for your mentality.

      • absolutely amazed

The one fact that stands out – an unarmed young man has been shot dead with a really lethal handgun by a man told not to track him. That is a tragedy. Anyone who thinks this sort of behavior can be condoned, let alone praised and encouraged, is not human, or at least not human with with any sort of conscience or soul. What concerns me is that are a lot of Zimmermans out there, quite a few of them on this blogosphere.

      • Chester

Last I heard, Zimmerman was out of his truck and actively following Martin on foot, which means he put himself in harms way. I have noticed, most pointedly, that there was NO coroner’s report on Martin’s physical condition other than dead by bullet wound, so the distinct possiblilty that he was physically attacked before he, supposedly, knocked Zimmerman down is still open for question. I do know that if someone like Zimmerman came up behind me late at night, he could well be in for more of a rough and tumble than he bargained for.

Wait a minute!! ” What is a 17 year old doing out at 2 am? “…??

When was this released? I’ve heard nothing about this time.. Who plays sports at 2am in the morning? Was it pre-recorded and if so, why would anybody sit through a half-time show and why would someone decide to go to the store during this recorded half time when all he had to do was fast forward back to the game? There’s definitely a lot of information/evidence that no one knows about thus why not just think something up.. Rumors have never been a good beacon toward truth.. I whole heartedly request that everyone put this bashing of who’s right and who’s wrong to bed and just wait until the trial begins so that we can discover elements that we’re only supposing now. I’m willing to wait.. Zimmerman isn’t going anywhere.. Some say he was in the wrong, are they right? Some say it was self-defense, are they right? In each person’s mind they feel their right but no one will know until the final judgement THEN one or the other can say, “I TOLD YOU SO!!” But up until then, how ’bout we just wait and see. I’m not for anyone toting around a weapon in public, especially a neighborhood watcher and for that reason (whether it was justified or not) is the blunt of the problem. To me it indicates no one trusts anyone anymore. I think the legal process is now justified, Zimmerman needs to explain his participation and the law has (finally) accommodated this.. Look, I’m not trying to assume a person’s conscience, I’m just saying, like the political arena and everyone’s opinion of who’s better than who, we’re getting nowhere this way other than lengthening the gap between ourselves.

    • eddie47d

Few convicted Zimmerman up front but many questioned his actions as being legitimate. Apparently you can’t see the difference. Everyone deserves a fair trial without the cover up. Years ago I was amazed that some folks thought Rodney King deserved to be beaten by the police. The police have no such right and their duty is to arrest and let the courts do the convicting with applicable evidence. Those cops should have been the ones serving time for taking the law into their own hands.

      • http://google rose

And how about the white truck driver who was drug out of his truck during the riots and got his head bashed in with a brick. By 3 black men, who danced around and and laughed and beat that white man? I remember. I seen the videos. Did he get rich off of being beat? The men who beat him got off and it was racialy motivated. But I guess he didn’t matter, because he was white. His life was radically change forever from that incident. Poor Zimmerman he will be lucky to get a fair trial.

Unless, of course, that darling boy Trayvon comes up and blindsides him and then tries to cave in his head on the concrete sidewalk. By the way, Hispanic is NOT a race, it is an ethnicity. There is only ONE race, Homo Sapiens Sapiens — aka “the human race.” Different skin color in and of itself is no more significant from a racial standpoint than it is between a pinto horse and a sorrel horse. They’re both horses. There are five subgroups: Caucasoid, Negroid, Mongoloid, Oriental, and Pacific Islander. Hispanic (from Spain) is Caucasian. Native Americans are mostly Mongoloid (from Mongolia). You’re talking about culture/ethnicity, not race. All this “race” garbage is a pile of horse manure. We ALL are descended from early humans who originated in the great Rift valley of east Africa, and that has been proven by genetic tracking.

      • http://Aol CommonSense4America

Well,,,that certainly cleared up our national dialogue. What will Al Sharpton do now?

      • oh oh

There remains one human species and several human races. The PC culture has tried to blur the distinction for political reasons the same way they blur the distinction between a democracy and a republic. In some respects there are distinct, discernible differences that have been studied, proven and documented thoroughly. There just aren’t enough honest or courageous people left in our culture to address the differences intelligently, preferring the superficial mantras about our similarities that are used to indoctrinate our children in public schools and pander to the entitlement class in progressive liberal politics.

      • Karolyn

You’re wrong. He’s right. There is only one race. We all came from the same place and are all related.

If i’m not mistaken the democrats controled the house and senate then

      • Flashy

yep…the Dems came in in 2007 and somehow managed to overnight tank the economy. there was nothing negative building up before then. uh uh …. those pesky Dem. The basis and causes for the crash magically materialized as soon as those Democrats sat down.

        Jeesh …. THINK !

      • Ed Gooding

Well, it’s nice that you are doing well, Jim. It IS all about you, right? How much money do you think all those unemployed people have been putting in their 401(k)’s over the last couple years? Why not walk your liberal talk, and take some of those huge gains and redistribute some of your money to some local folks who are unemployed?

      • Thor

As I have pointed out to you before, Flash’em, you are the one who needs to ‘think’! And do some research before you open that pie hole…if you can count, look at the Congressional Record yourself and count the number of years in the last century that Democrats have been in charge of both houses of Congress. When you get done, you’ll find Republicans have only had control 13 out of the last 100 years and all 13 since Ronald Reagan. That means Democrats are responsible for 87% of what’s wrong with this country anyway you cut it! Geeze! How about you think for a change!

      • Flashy

Well thor..If you look at the numbers, you’ll see this nation began the downward trend in 1981….and the beginning of the largest wealth redistribution in the history of Mankind began at that time as well … redistribution from the Middle Class to the wealthy.

      • Thor

Good point, Flashman, and I can count on one hand how many genuine rightwingers have held office since ’81, Yet, you continue to blame an unrepresented minority for all the ills of society and government. Where does that leave your logic and credibility?

kantstanja you are the corn dawg. The Republicans only control the House and do not have a super majority in it. The democrats still control the Senate. I take it back you are not a corn dawg you are only the stick it fell off of.

Good post Wyatt was there any doubt Zimmerman would be tried and convicted by our news media without benefit of trial? When Al Sharpton started this race thing you know it no longer had anything to do with facts just plain hatred by some people. As an American citizen I think if you were not there and saw it personally you should keep quiet and let the law take it’s corse maybe somewhere there will be some real facts revealed and may justice prevail if possible.

      • Flashy

Seems when the Zimmerman issue was discussed a week or so ago, i stated he should be charged and allowed to opportunity to clear his name. That suggestions was roundly criticized in this forum. Seems folks have a new take on the issue…lol

Considering how the media doctored the evidence released to the public it is quite obvious what would happen.

  • Karolyn

    Poor George Zimmerman???

    • Flashy

Karolyn ! how could you question that ? i mean..it’s is SO WRONG to have Zimmerman legitimize his claim of slef-defense! Why don’t we take his word alone on the claim…and then allow anyone to shoot nd kill at will and want and never question the situation once they claim ‘self defense” !

Isn’t it our Right to be able to shoot anyone we want if we think they are an immediate danger to us in our own psychotic mind? Doesn’t it make you feel so much safer knowing everyone is packing a gun and itching to show they are like a character in a Clint Eastwood movie? By all means we should take the law into our own hands ! Absolutely…let’s have a snuff party at the local bar each Saturday night ! And our childtren are soooo much safer with every adult packin’ a guin and demanding to be allowed on schoolo grounds because it’s ‘their Right” .. and to hell with our Rights.

Jeesh karolyn…you must be some Liberal to dare think it’s a bad idea to let anyone pack a gun and shoot anyone they decide is ‘a danger’ and not have to legitimize anything !

      • Wyatt

Flasher as I have said before , you were not there , you do not know what the circumstances of the event in question or any of the facts . There is only one person living who knows exactly what happened and one , possibly two eye witnesses people who gave eyewitness accounts of what they saw after the initial confrontation had started . These individuals were observing in response to crys for help , allegedly from poor George Zimmerman who you in your Al Sharpton self rightousness seem so egar to lynch .

As for your wild west ,Clint Eastwood , analogy of wild west shoot ups . I would suggest you perhaps spend more time learning about the history of the west and less time camped on the sofa watching the saturday morning oaters . If truth be told , there were relatively few actual shoot outs in the old west dispite what you see on the opening credits of gunsmoke . The actual documented facts show only a half dozen at most , and only one where two men squared of in the middle of the street. As virtually every man was armed the had a tendency to be polite to one another .

Now I am not advocating everyone run down to their local gunshop and buy a gun , most like you would only wind up blowing their empty heads off (hmm , now there’s a thought) but you and those like you with your lynch mob mentality and bleeding heart liberl bias flock like sheep to the words of racist and divicive idiots like Sharpton , Jackson and yes Barry Obama . Without racism these people couldn’t survive except in their own little worlds of bitterness .

The courts will now decide the fate of George Zimmerman , hopefully in a fair and unbiased way based upon the existing laws of the state . Unfortunately I don’t know if this is possible . What with a pitbull prosecutor , and Zimmerman having been tried in the media . This trial is a result of officials and law enforcement being cowed into charges being filed by agents who should have no business mixing in .

I remind you once again , the event in question occured a month before all the brouha began and Barry Obama put his two cents in and sent his outside agitators to stir things up and get the attention off of himself . All you bleeding hearts had best wake up to the fact to who and what has turned an isolated event into a national debate . I have yet to see or hear any outcry anout the little girl killed in a drive by shooting . The two British tourists killed simply because they walked into the wrong neighborhood or any of the numerous attacks on whites by black youths in the name of Martin . What a pack of Hypocrites . Zimmerman is in fact Hispanic , not white . Get a grip and smell just what you are shoveling !

      • Flashy

Wyatt…please re-read what i wrote. I was calling into question those who state Zimmerman should not be brought up and held to account for his actions and that he does not, nor should not, show he was acting in self defense.

As for your paragraph “As for your wild west ,Clint Eastwood , analogy of wild west shoot ups . I would suggest you perhaps spend more time learning about the history of the west and less time camped on the sofa watching the saturday morning oaters . If truth be told , there were relatively few actual shoot outs in the old west dispite what you see on the opening credits of gunsmoke . I suggest you aslo read up on the Old West. Many, including Doge City, had laws which stated no guns in the city limits. Those came about in response to allowing unfettered carrying.

Families saw their safety was not along the path of having everyone packing a gun. And those who chose not to turn in the armor..they were then easily identifiable and there wasn’t a question as to whether they were ‘law abiding’ or not.

One other item for you to note. Most of the firearms owned and carried in the Old West weren’t psitols. Those were viewed as almost worthless …. most guns were rifles. A much more useful weapon and hunting tool.

now…what was that you were saying about the Old West?

      • castaway

I would take Zimmermans word anyday, over a damn negro.I was going to use a more appropriate word, but it would cause a rush of liberals to Hollar Mommy Mommy Mommy, He said a bad word

      • Dennis48e

“Many, including Doge City, had laws which stated no guns in the city limits. Those came about in response to allowing unfettered carrying.”

Those laws were only enforced on cowboys coming in with trail herds and other strangers. The citizens of the towns were allowed to carry and/or have guns at hand ready to use.

      • Robert Smith

Wyatt says: “There is only one person living who knows exactly what happened and one , possibly two eye witnesses people who gave eyewitness accounts of what they saw after the initial confrontation had started . These individuals were observing in response to crys for help , allegedly from poor George Zimmerman…”

I’ll bet you think it’s George who knows exactly what happened. I’ll agree that he may “know” but he’s also a proven (to 99%) liar because he claimed it was him screaming when the 911 tapes show that is extremely unlikley.

Eye witnesses tend not to be as reliable as was once believed, particularly in the face of the technology that has already been applied.

For all you right wing “diplomatic” folks who don’t think George is going to get a fair shake consider the shake that the dead kid got. I’ll bet his parents wish he was around to be tried.

You have to have credibility,to lack it.
Mentality Starved National Bolshevik Communications, can claim neither.
They exist therefore they are….that is about the extent of what can be said of them.
It is said that cloacal sphincters are like opinions, and everyone has one.But science cannot measure the vortex of spin which is inherent in todays media circles. It astounds and amazes even me(not an easy thing to accomplish!).
I will never get used to the amount of witheld, and disinformation heard on any newscast.
Its alot like watching a commercial. It goes out of its way to insult my intelligence.Objectivity along with good taste, routinely flies out the window.and is replaced by opinionated nonsense. It becomes painfully obvious to me then, that in an effort to entertain me for a half hour,or in hour long loops if I choose to watch longer, the news is left on the desktop, and media has replaced it.
When I apply scrutiny to the stories that are being masticulated by most locals with relative ease,i find them hard to chew and have to spit them out because I just cant seem to swallow their content.
But you would think this was just a case of local spindoctor magic?
That is until you watch the national variety news. Not until that moment do you get an appreciation of just what a whirlpool you’ve just gotten yourself into. The sense you get is being hogtied by ropes made of male bovine fecal matter,to the extent of defying all logic.
    Hence my comparison to advertisements.
These modern news folk advertise spin, instead of reporting objectively.
IMHO,a dunce could see this fact from over the horizon.
Yet it is taken seriously enough for some to watch the comedy channel and get their news from that source!?If that isnt a scathing note of modern societal insanity, nothing is.
But what can be expected when the major news outlets have no credulity to them?
Walter Kronkite is rolling over in his grave.
Empires have crumbled at less propagandized treatment of citizens.
It is simply mass media marketing gone awry.Pick your demographic and stroke their egocentrical enticement edifice.
Ah yes…..to have sweet nothings whispered into your ear, complete with dislcaimers of side effects spoken rapidly in the background as scenes of serenity pass by your vision.Notice that because of having a modicum of good taste, you and the imaginary model of the opposite sex are sitting in two separate tubs, instead of raucously being entwined together in one small space,as is the case when reality sets in,and you are staring at your spouse in a tub that is too small to contain either of you alone, let alone(separately).
That is what happens to you mentally when you try to enjoy the modern newscast.
You are immediately whisked away to a place where reality has been replaced by someone else’s visions of reality. In that secluded place your intellect is poked and prodded and made to conform to the thoughts being projected by the producer.
After your brainscrubbing, you relax to a nice human interest story that makes the world seem safe and cuddly.
    Bon Apetit’ and
    Cheers!

I am the product of the public education system and have been dumbed down quite a bit by it. However, through hard work, and tutoring, I have brought it up to the 5th grade reading level. I therefore politely ask that you write your opinion again at a 4th Grade (reading) level, so the I may share you highly intelligent ‘cawmun cents’ with my fellow hunters (that is, if I can first get them to break the lip lock they have with the bottle of beer that they enyoy so much after the hunt.).

I am not inferring that you write at a 5th grade reading level, I’m only saying, that I understand at a 5th grade level. But, because you monikered yourself as ‘cawmun cents’ that tells me that you’re pure of heart and are sharing your wisdom with us the dirty, ignorant rabble.
