Plastic Surgeon Criticized For Picking Big Noses

The Jewish plastic surgeon known as Dr. Schnoz has decided to cancel a contest after the premise was considered inappropriate by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Michael Salzhauer, M.D., helped create a music video entitled “Jewcan Sam: A Nose Job Love Song.” The song is about a Jewish teen who fails to get the girl because of the size of his nose. The Groggers, a Jewish pop-punk band, wrote the song.
The video compares the Jewish nose to Toucan Sam’s beak.
Salzhauer requested that viewers make similar videos, and the best video would receive a paid for trip to Miami, the home of Salzhauer’s practice. But the sought-after surgeon has chosen to halt the publicity stunt.
Salzhauer also offered free nose jobs to everyone in the band. Lead singer Doug Staiman, who plays the main character in the video, accepted the offer.
Staiman, along with Salzhauer, has been the subject of criticism. But the songwriter doesn’t seem to mind. He answered critics: “We’re all Orthodox Jews and very proud Jews. Isn‘t there a KKK rally you’ve got to break up somewhere?”
Malcolm Rush, M.D., president of the ASPS, said: “This is just disturbing that a doctor would play into the frailties of the human condition.”
