Wayne Allyn Root recently appeared on “The Daily Show” to prove that President Barack Obama is the deadliest breed of socialist the United States has ever faced: a stealth socialist who believes in achieving his goals slowly and subtly, Root says in his latest video for Personal Liberty Digest™.
Wayne Allyn Root(W.A.R.) is a former Presidential candidate, the 2008 Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee and a Tea Party favorite. He is the ultimate capitalist evangelist: a blue-collar S.O.B. (son of a butcher) turned small businessman, entrepreneur, CEO, home-schooler and citizen politician. Root is a talk-show host, bestselling author, business speaker and TV/radio commentator on business, economics, entrepreneurship and politics. He is a regular guest on Fox News, as well as on hundreds of radio shows across the United States. Root's opinions reach tens of millions of Americans as a regular columnist and commentator for many of the most popular political and business websites, including FoxNews.com. He also writes regularly for The Washington Times. He is the bestselling author of seven books.
Root serves as national spokesman for several companies, including Asset Strategies International, a global precious metals company, and Senior Economic Advisor to Wealth Masters International, a global financial services company. He is also well known in the television and media industries. Root started his career as an anchorman and host for CNBC (then known as Financial News Network). He has hosted, starred and produced many television shows. Today, he is a producer of the highest-rated television show on Travel Channel, "Ghost Adventures."
Because of his success in the diverse fields of business, media, sports, entertainment and publishing, Root was awarded his own 180-pound granite star in the Las Vegas Walk of Stars. Only 50 legends in the history of Las Vegas have received a star on Las Vegas Boulevard. Root joins Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Wayne Newton, Liberace and Dean Martin, along with other icons of business and entertainment. Root's star can be viewed in front of New York New York Resort.

Is it just my computer, or is this video really that bad? The sound doesn’t match up with his mouth, and the picture is not very good.

Pardon me while I collect my thoughts at the idea of Obama being a “stealth socialist”.
Like I’m a stealth Libertarian.
It just goes to show how far the Overton Window has moved to the left for Wayne to suggest such a thing.
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
DaveH I just thought you were confused not stealth.
DaveH
Wow, Eric, your adolescent manipulative techniques are in full bloom today.
Ken Stout
Continue Eric. You are doing an excellent job explaining to these uneducated Americans . I agree 200% of what you are saying. I am on this Website because I believe in what our founding fathers of this country. Unfortunately, the Tea Party people have been hijacked by the Koch Brothers media machine. The Tea Party people are very good people, they are just misinformed that is all. It is other’s like you Eric, that need to continue the debate. Tea Party actually have a lot of the same views as the Occupy movement. All they need to do is get the religion and abortion issues out of politics. The problem is Government , because we have corporate welfare because wall street now owns the majority of the politicians. So we need to take money out of politics and elect honest people. It is a joke that the right wing media is calling Obama a Socialist, he is more center to right leaning than a liberal progressive. This health care debate is a joke, it is a program guaranteeing increased revenue for the health insurance industry. But it is a start to universal health care.
You call this Obamacare socialism? Wake up people, this was a huge giveaway to the insurance and health companies! I have no health care insurance because your so called Free Market has made it impossible for a middle class person like me to afford it anymore. That is why we need money out of health care and make it a right and not a privledge to have health care and social securtiy benefits. The right wing conservatives think that deregulation is the answer, look around you people, do you think it is working? Deregulation is the problem , look what happened to the banking crash! Do you think there was too much regulation? I don’t think so. It is sad when you have the fox guarding the hen house in all branches of government. That is exactly happening in government and media. The media was suppose to be the fourth branch of government for the people, but that is no longer the case anymore when you have the huge corporations that make weapons, own the media too. Think people, wake up and change the way we do business, and start doing your business locally. Start changing your story from a war mongering and greedy country to a compassionate and generous giving country.
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
I agree Ken. Think small and locally. I told BofA where to go back in 2006 and moved to my local Credit UNION. I shop locally and buy from the local farmers as much as I can even if it’s not organic.
DaveH
In 1900, Government consumed 7% of our GDP. Now they control over 40% of our GDP: http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/past_spending
And you have the temerity, Ken, to suggest that deregulation is our problem?
See, Folks, the problem with Progressive Followers is that they really are clueless to the reality of Big Government. They don’t know the difference between Capitalism (Free Markets), and Crony Capitalism (Government favoritism of select Business People).
Don’t expect “open-minded” people, like Eric, to read this book.
Mirage
To Ken S. and Eric B. …. WOW; you guys are catching a lot of heat today for primarily being rational. I’m guessing you two are independent voters who put country first.
Good Job fighting the ignorant mob with some middle of the road reason, versus blaming all America’s woes on one party, or one president.
I don’t let the extreme right, like many here, bother me, for they are the same type of pea-brained Neanderthals who oppose thinkers throughout ALL ages:
They lambasted and threatened to kill Galileo for claiming the world was round.
They burned witches in Salem.,
They labeled Republican President Theodor Roosevelt a socialist/communist for creating our nation’s first national park (Yellowstone 1872), and, for first addressing the topic of national health care.
They (John Birch Society) called one of this nation’s greatest Generals, Dwight Eisenhower, a communist for being in favor of flouride in our drinking water.
They ruined many innocent people in the 50′s via Senator Joseph McCarthy corrupt communist trials..
And today, they’re labeling Obama a Marxist/Socialist for things like wanting affordable health care for all.
These same “Mislabelers” of socialism, take advantage of socialized programs like public education, public tv, public fire fighters, tornado relief, and even cash their Social Security, but return here day after day to USUALLY decry Socialism. So much for logic.
Oh well, you can bring a jackass to water, but you can’t make it drink.

Mr. Obama has made it clear he’s for redistribution of wealth; for ignoring Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution and thus requiring people to take actions they oppose; for saying he wants to bankrupt whole sections of our economy; for taking over a large part of the auto, banking, and investment industries; and for stating that the Establishment, Necessary and Proper, and the Supremacy Clauses give him the right to dictate actions to the States and the people. These are all socialist positions.
In addition, from his parents to his mentor to his friends and professors in college to how he started in politics to his wife to Saul Alinsky to his appointments like Van Jones and Valerie Jarrett he has mainly associated with socialists and communists.
All one has to do is to connect the dots to see that Mr. Obama is a Fabian socialist.
Baldmurph
Well, we elected him the last time around. I voted the other, but his crew was a lot better at getting out people to vote. If he wins a second term, then too many of us are staying home on election day because it’s inconvenient to go to the polls, and too many of us are voting for him for profit at the expense of the rest – - surely we are not 50% stupid, fools, or ignorant! We have looked upon the enemy, and he is us! (Pogo)
recce1
Excellent points. What I fear is a society that’s so composed of people who depend on the Federal government that they’ll vote for whoever promises them the most goodies. So I believe it’s not stupidity or ignorance that will get Mr. Obama elected this November but rather greed and envy.
I also believe he’ll be reelected in 2016 and we’ll have to say goodbye to what’s left of a once democratic Republic under the rule of constitutional law. We’ll say goodbye to the USA and hello to the USSA.
Those in the eastern USSA should buy prayer rugs and learn the direction to Mecca, while those in the West should learn Spanish. That way they’ll understand, “Por La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada.” By the way, I’m Hispanic but I’ll never accept Aztlan.
Baldmurph
Greed and profit at the expense of others we have with us always, but I hadn’t thought there were that many with snouts in the public trough. Probably not looking closely and making logical connections. How will this work out? Depends on how many decide what is in their own interest – - and if enough decide they can profit by picking the public pocket, the public pocket will suck us all down the drain, and it will be a long and gritty job dragging ourselves back out. Let us pray (it helps mental clarity and direction).
Geoff
The notion that humans do not want to be productive and would rather live off of others is not borne out by human history. Humanity, and individual human beings as animals, have an inborn urge to create, produce, and improve their circumstances if they are able to do so. The notion that many would want to live off the public trough, so to speak, is base on weak anecdotal accounts and not any meaningful review of the anthropological and archaeological data.
Baldmurph
The question is “how many?”. Didn’t we have that problem among the early Christians, some doing nothing except waiting for the end of days and living off the contributions of others, to the point that Paul instituted a new rule: “If you don’t work, you don’t eat”? Or am I recalling the story incorrectly? We have entitlement programs to support large numbers of people, some who genuinely need help – - and some who do not, but can get it anyway because that is the way they were structured. And who would rather live that way because it is the least effort way to go. Call it personal engineering. Do I blame Warren Buffet for paying a lower net tax rate on his large net income than some middleclass families? No. We (collectively) wrote the rules, he follows them. If we change the rules, we will discommodate many people who will have to change their behaviors. If we don’t, we will continue to spend more than we make until we find ourselves in the big bind.
Geoff
Your response covered two subjects, and I will address them one at a time. Studies have shown that the overwhelming number of people seeking assistance from the government truly need it. Welfare fraud, contrary to the assertions of some, is very low. That is true with all programs designed to help those unable to help themselves. There is no evidence to dispute this.
The Buffet rule is nothing more than how the 16th amendment to the Constitution (federal taxation) is to be applied. Throughout the history of federal income tax the tax rates have varied although, I believe, always those who had larger incomes paid more taxes at a higher rate. How much more is purely a legislative determination. The highest tax rate in the 1950′s was two to three times more than today although there were many loopholes and few if any actually paid it. So, there is nothing revolutionary about taxing the wealthy at a much higher rate than the middle class. Ccongress determines the tax rates.
Baldmurph
The conspicuous cheaters get publicity. Low profile may pass below the screen. That there are many who need help I do not deny. That there are individuals and corporations getting breaks that look strange, if not hand-crafted, is generally believed. And some are merely taking advantage of breaks which are there which may have been intended for others or other purposes, but for which they qualify. You could look upon our tax code as a giant government employment plan: many highly intelligent and well trained accountants to figure out the code and the best way to apply it, more to work for the IRS to make sure of compliance to the letter, highly intelligent and well trained lawyers to argue disputes in interpretation, and many more HI&WT bureaucrats to keep score and let our leaders know who’s ahead. Our marginal tax rates 60 years ago seem a bit much – which is probably where a lot of the breaks came in. At present we seem to have lower rates and more breaks. To get this downward spiral under control we need to spend a bit less and collect a bit for a while. How big the bits? That’s up for discussion. Alternatively we can start WWIII and chance a roll of the dice. Or perhaps we are closer to interplanetary exploration and colonization than I think, which might work, too. Got any other ideas?
Geoff
To reduce the deficient two things must happen. First, begin immediately to reduce defense spending. Presently, we spend around 700 billion a year on defense. Our nearest rival, and perceive enemy, is China which spends a little more than 100 billion. That’s almost seven times as much, moreover we spend two to three times as much as all the rest of the countries in the world combined including our allies. Defense spending destroyed the Russian empire, it will destroy us if it is not substantially reduced. We do not need to police the world. Secondly, as the recession subsides, unemployed will be reduced and the revenue base increased. Recessions are cyclical, this one is more severe because of the Bush tax cuts which resulted in fighting two wars on credit, along with the financial bubble caused by Wall Street and the banking industry’s speculation on the housing market.
Geoff
I doubt that you are Latino, since that would be the correct way to describe yourself. Whatever you are, you are certainly delusional.
recce1
So now you’re the expert on how people should be allowed to describe their background? I doubt you understand the difference between Latino and Hispanic.
However, I understand why you need to resort to an ad hominem attack. Evidently I hit a sore spot that you can’t refute. Or is it that you’d prefer Mr. Obama as a dictator? He certainly is no constitutionalist.
http://personalliberty.com chazanne
The flaw in your thinking is that Health Care is somehow a fundamental right. IT IS NOT! If you want it, pay for it. I do! $$ Thousands and thousands!!! I should no more have to pay for YOUR health care than I should have to pay for your car so you can commute to work. Your “pursuit of happiness” is on you and is your responsibility, not mine.
Geoff
Chazanne, you totally miss the point. Our health care system is becoming beyond the reach of many due to it’s inflated cost. Health care as a right is not the issue. But society is under an obligation to provide for those who are unable to provide for themselves, unless of course, you are a social Darwinist and believe those unable to provide for themselves should just die, a real Christian concept I might add. Fifty million do not have health insurance, many not because they don’t want it, but because it has become too costly and they can’t afford it.
Airangel
I see more and more hatred and division which is really disturbing. Obama will be known as the great divider. Independence is Freedom and dependence on Government is slavery. Just look to N. Korea (I feel horrible for those born in that country). Responsibility leads to responsible behavior.
Give a man fish and you feed him for a day
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life.
We need to enforce existing laws and get back to discipline, honor and valor. Those that can work should be working and be proud, productive citizens and responsible for their own debt and choices in life. It is their job to take care of their family. We need to stop rewarding bad, criminal behavior and foster good, productive behavior. This lack of law enforcement by Holder will lead to deaths and the bloodshed and violence is on this administration as they are stoking the flames rather than enforcing the law and doing their job in an unbiased manner.

Yes but we and our foreign policies and our war mongering are responsible for North Korea, The Ayatolla in Iran, Saddam Hussein in Iraq, Pinochet in Chile, Mubarik in Egypt, even Castro in Cuba. Hell we are even responsible for Hitler by forcing the obscene Treaty of Versailles upon the germans after WWI. If one reads history and connects the dots of events then one understands that we are even responsible for the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor.
Airangel
@Eric, by your statement you sound as if you pardon the cruel punishment of the leaders you mention from doing atrocious, unhuman acts to their own people. They starve them and force them to serve them or threaten to kill their families. They are tortured, whipped, starved, raped, molested, etc. Look at the billions we have given to Haiti. Did the people get it? NO, the corrupt governemnts continue to take and take and take to prop themselves up and not the people just as our Government is doing. All those rulers have out and out murdered their own people. Some people simply should not be in power. Ruthless is ruthless and the defenseless need a defender. I am not a fan of war but I’m not a fan of murdering innocent people either as ALL of them did for no good reason. I know we have tons of corruption but in a way we are the the symbol of moses bringing these poor souls out of bondage and suffering. Unfortunately, we are no longer leading by example which makes us hypocrites. My brother was in Iraq, did you know those people were so starved, they loved our soldier that gave them food and water (basic needs)…they made their own people barter for water. The media has done a disservice by not showing the good and rebuilding and friendships and bonding. They only show the bad stories and incite more hatred.

Dear Eric Bischoff,
You are correct. Unfortunately, our government propaganda non-education indoctrination system does not teach this history. It teaches that the US is pure as driven snow in its overseas interventions, but nothing about the use of US dollars, intelligence assets and NGOs to prop up (or in some cases enslave) puppet governments and train and use terrorists to establish and grow empire.
Best wishes,
Bob
DaveH
No, Eric, “We” aren’t responsible, the Leaders who have assumed control over our lives and others are responsible. And people like you want to give them more Power.
AK
Eric,
Our conflict with Japan in the ’30s was caused by their expansionist policy. Several years prior to Pearl Harbor, they brutally invaded China (I’ve seen the historical Chinese videos) because they wanted to dominate the Orient for economic gain and political power. Their attack on Pearl Harbor was their way to warn the US to stay out of the Orient. Policies were guided by the army. Yamamoto, the attacking admiral, warned them “You will wake a sleeping giant who will bury you.”
North Korea was birthed by a US policy of appeasement and containment rather than fighting a traditional war. I could answer you point for point but will keep this short. My point is that opinions are good when backed by history and facts. I see no facts to back up your opinions.
I voted for Carter and learned a bitter lesson. I used to trust MSM until I discovered how they distort facts to promote their agenda. Giving up my liberal status to become a moderate has been a painful road. First, I had to lean how to discover truth in order to recognize distortion. It mostly comes down to what my Mom said, ” Watch what the man does and spread what he says on the garden, where it will at least do some good.”
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
I love the way DaveH always expunges his own responsibility and always blames everyone else. I guess he never votes or buys anything.
DaveH
Eric issues his usual inane comment — “I love the way DaveH always expunges his own responsibility and always blames everyone else. I guess he never votes or buys anything”.
Actually, Eric, I’ve never voted for candidates to Force my way on other people. I’ve voted for Freedom since I came of voting age.
Save the guilt trip for somebody that it might work on.
You’re like a manipulative spoiled child, Eric, who will go from one tactic to another in an effort to get his way.

I subscribe to this newsletter to see how others think and react. If it weren’t for Eric, there would be no intelligent remarks at all. Thank you Eric for printing what I believe the majority of us think and how we feel. A total lack of respect for the President of the United States is unfortunately displayed and fed upon. And it appears that there is a total lack of respect for all government in this country! If our country is “taken back”, how far back are going? Most of the people on here don’t think or have warped thinking and I don’t think they have really put any thought into how this country should be run, but just react to their feelings of hatred, bigotry ignorance.
So, they really agree that corporations should continue their greed and not give back to their employees or to their country? Or, are they really so selfish that they think it is communistic to take care of those less fortunate? Do they really think it is ok to siphon out the revenues that should be in use to keep our country strong and safe; to keep our communities and families educated and healthy; our infrastructure safe, clean, healthy and beautiful; and to maintain a spirit of sharing and caring and everyone participating in the “American Dream”, even on a limited basis????
How many of them have a bundle stashed away? A high standard and quality of living? How many of them are poor, unemployed, have no health insurance, are under employed, are living from paycheck to paycheck, Social Security check to Social Security check, retirement check to retirement check, have exhausted their savings because of the current economy, are really saved Christians and/or believe in the values of their own religion????
This has been an interesting and enlightening read. God help/rescue America!

Keep on talking. You are doing us a favor. We don’t have to explain what the Leftists/Socialists/Democrats really believe and what their plans are for this country.
Gwendolyn, you want the American dream, go get it on your own. I can’t find any where that it says that you are entitled to it, you have to work for it no-one owes it to you. This idea that the American dream is an entitlement, [ just to inform you] is false. We the people do not owe you and it is wrong to take our taxes to make your dream come true. Gwendolyn writes, “If our country is “taken back”, how far back are going? Most of the people on here don’t think or have warped thinking and I don’t think they have really put any thought into how this country should be run, but just react to their feelings of hatred, bigotry ignorance.”
Umm…sounds to me like you are saying our founding fathers got it wrong, or at least had “warped thinking”. And, apparently you have the right answer on “how this country should be run”. Please, enlighten the unwashed masses with your divine wisdom that supercedes our founding fathers and explain to us how your utopia works. Bigotry? Hatred? Do you even understand that when the tax man cometh to take my taxes to give to you, that is theft? No, your passionate plea for the govt to confiscate wealth for you falls on deaf ears. And, you misunderstand the outrage at a govt that is supposed to protect ALL its people has chosen the easy route to take from one segment and then throw crumbs on the floor for the poor. In the meantime, the so-called leaders of this republic enrich themselves and allow their crony friends to walk out the door with millions of dollars. There is a better way, a solution that has been viable for a long time, it’s called the Constitution. But, no constitution will work except for the want of a morale and self-sufficient people. It fails when it is used (or outright ignored) as hammer to contrive phony programs and offers false promises of prosperity by an immoral “ruling” class who think themselves above the law and the Constitution. You are just a tool of the progressive elite and are being used to perpetuate the myth that its not really stealing, its taxing people who have too much anyway.

I agree with Wayne 101% The prez is a danger to the Country and to Israel. It scares me to death what will happen if he is re-elected for another 4 years. I often wonder whether he will declare himself as the permanent leader/dictator. He has done things without seeking the approval of the Senate, and that was an arrogant thing to do. He seems to not care what laws or traditions there are…he just does his own thing. He doesn’t like the Constitution anyway, as he said that it was an outdated document…and I am sure he will seek to change it. I can only hope and pray that decent citizens with conservative/liberal beliefs will turn out in great numbers to vote for Romney. I would have liked someone else but he is the one we have to get behind now. The prez reminds me of the Anti-Christ…an exceptional deceiver of the masses. I hope I am wrong.

Obama, by nature, is a sneak thief. He lies, he steals (on a massive scale) then he plays basketball or golf to take his mind off of what? His family lives like African royalty. Right now, according to a Canadian news report, his teenage daughter has taken 12 of her friends to a Mexican resort aboard (two) jets for “spring break”. How lavish for a 13 year old. But it’s only “fair” and it does “spread the wealth” perhaps it’s spread a little heavy on the Obama side but who’s counting?
In days gone by he would have had to settle for chickens, watermelons or whatever was not nailed down. Those were things people like him who did not work for a living would steal to avoid exerting themselves. Now, thanks to liberalism, he and his kind are about to take down America with their blatant racism and thievery How nice. Now we know what “hope and change” referred to. He was “hoping” no one stopped him before he “changed” America into a larger version of South Africa.

You really don’t know the difference between Franklin and Theodore? Well done!
Sirian
Oh James, your being so cruel – LOL!!!. . .
cawmun cents
There wasnt much of a difference they were both progressives.
It s all bsed on the idea of collective bargaining rather than rugged individualism.
The idea that if you pool other peoples money together, then you can get more done that if you go out in the world and use your own resources to affect it on a personal level.
Its the idea that building a giant corporation from scratch, isnt nearly as admirable an effort as extorting that giant corporations money to benefit the whole of society.
That is what we are divided by in todays post.
This ideology is what separates the Bischoff’s and Flashy’s,and their support of using OP’s money to do as they please, for lack of resources of their own, with making billions of dollars by the rugged individualists who pool their resorces to build a corporation.
The difference is that they do not spearate the effort of those without…..using OP’S money through gubment, from those who through mastery of hard work, grow money where it didnt previously grow.Their ignorance is stifling to those of us who grasp this simple concept, yet they will not,for that would entail putting their favorite form of gubment on a par with thievery.
Somewhere in the annals of time a person who had no resources of his own, stepped forth and decide to use those of others via organizing,to benefit themselves and yet make those whose resorces were being used think it was a good idea.
Diplomacy is the act of telling people to go to hell, and convincing them that its a swell idea.
So you get folks like Bischoof and Flashy who tell you to go to hell and offer to spend your dime for a ticket straight into the bowels. The catch is that they feel the need to attempt to connive and contrive a story, that makes you think it is a great move.
Notice that they blame those who actually fought hard to make that money, rather than those who take it by making laws which benefit their taking of it,of course for the supposed wellbeing of all.
Yey also notice that all are seldom if ever benefitted.
Hmmmmm.
So folks who scratch until they make a billion, are malevolently evil, but those who extort monies from those who scratch to make a billion,by making laws entitling them to do so,are benevolent.Do you see their confusion?
Appaerently they cannot.
Cheers!

What I am completely baffled about, is the fact there are people I know that are intelligent and deep thinkers, but when it comes to Obama they follow with no thought or vetting at all of the shallow vague “campaign rhetoric” by Obama!
Nadzieja Batki
You may have to reconsider and redefine what intelligence and deep thinking is.

This is a clinical example of paranoid delusional thinking. You people clearly need professional help for your own good. By this convoluted thinking Romney and all the other Republicans are hybrid facists.

Had to visit the Daily Show site to check out the claim that that this guy appeared on the show. In a montage of unidentified faces, you see him sayng only 4 words: “Obama is a socialist.” A clip of him appeared on the Daily Show–he didn’t. The rest of the segment showed the interviewer visiting 3 or 4 different “socialist” organizations, all of agree on only one thing: that Obama is NOT a socialsit. I appreciate the satire above, but I fear that it goes over most commenters’ heads.

Peter, Romney is the same as Obamination just a little slower, remember Romney Death Care the forerunner of Obamination Death Care. When asked of Romney would he remove the last two bills that took away our 1st and 5th Amendment rights he said no because he wouldn’t use them against Americans then why have them in place if your not going to use them???? He dosen’t like the 2nd Amendment, and the only reason to dislike the 2nd Amendment is you believe the way all tyrants believe that a disarmed populace is no threat to the Government. Our founding Fathers knew that an armed America would be very hard to take over by an out of control Government like the one we have right now. Passing bills that over rule the Constitution and our Bill of Rights like they have passed over the last three months proves that this Country is in for a Civil War that is not going to be pretty. Obamination is passing Executive Orders left and right giving him power only a KING would have and Congress is going along with him. You lie with unsubstantiated facts Louis. The top earners (people over $200,000) make about trillion a year, not “trillions above”. Class envy is rediculous in a country that actually allows motivated people to move up and make more. You cry and whine about others making so much without ever bettering yourself. Shame on you. You could send govt thugs to confiscate every dime that the “rich” have and it would not be enough to pay for all the social welfare programs (read as “vote buying programs”) that you advocate and support.

you are correct Jeepman

There is nothing wrong with working hard for your money and attempting to earn more but once the wealthy get to a certain point they stop working and seldom earn what they receive. They manipulate and become greedy in how they achieve that wealth. As they tinker in making more their huge salaries causes the price of everything else to go up. They don’t hold inflation down but increase the cost of goods.
Charles
Regretfully at this time I do not trust this White House. I have wondered for some time if the Saddleback Church and Rev. Rick Warren regret now that they invited the pre-election debate to take place on their platform; a platform and pulpit that was decated for Truth to be read, spoken and preached.
Orrie
Obama is what he is because Congress did nothing to stop him. Obama should never have stepped one foot in the White House if Congress did their job and thoroughly investigated his past. All the blame should go to Congress and the Courts. They are yellow belly cowards who continue to turn their backs on the Constitution and the American people. I have no respect for Obama, Congress and the corrupt judges who sit on their high perches and ignore the facts about Obama.
Carol
A lot of the blame has to also go to the people of America for continuing to vote for such people to represent them, and also for their continuous support of the ‘illegal’ laws that come out of D.C. Congress isn’t going to do anything to Obama, or any other president, as long as the $millions keep rolling into their bank accounts. Money talks and nothing will change until the people vote ethical people to represent them because what we have now is a house of corruption, with the exception of 2-3%. Romney is not a part of that small percentage and he will be no different from Obama.
Obama is nothing but feces floating in a Washington D.C. sewer along with the rest of his pus-brained buddies in the MSM, especially Chris Matthews. Matthews is the most divisive, corrupt, leg-tingling, nefarious man in the media who represents and brainwashes the uneducated into believing Obama is God.
I don’t watch the news, but I saw a clip on the Internet where Matthews was showing the percentages for each presidential candidate. He didn’t bother including Ron Paul who had the highest of 42% and Romney with a second place of 36%. I know the world isn’t fair, but that should not be tolerated in our so-called Free Press.
http://personalliberty.com chazanne
Orrie, You are wrong! Yes, Obama is a cancer in need of irradiation and a scourge on the ideals of this great nation, but it is the people who would vote for such a scoundrel and thug that we must question. Who, in 2008 would be so fooled as to vote for this person. And, who in 2012, now knowing what contempt he has for our government and our constitution would repeat such an error. Indeed, WHO?
We do not live in a utopian society and never will. If you work hard, all your life, you may get ahead. If you sit on you butt waiting for something to happen, it never will and you will eat POO and deserve to eat POO! That’s how it works.
Help the helpless, that’s OK with me! The clueless, that’s another matter entirely!
Eric, if you don’t like that, get the Heck out and go live in Syria or Afghanistan, OK!
BTW, living in Germany isn’t all that you cracked it up to be. I know many people there. Opportunities are very limited there and life for the individual is very directed and controlled. Is that what you want ERIC? Don’t you want the opportunity to at least screw it up, or maybe get it right? Your hypocracy is astonishing. Really! Read what you wrote to us! Now get out of my country and try Germany on for size.

Oh Chazanne where have you been. I hadn’t seen a my country love it or leave it bumper sticker in a while. They used to be common when I was against the Vietnam war. Not much has changed Hé!

If life is not so good in Germany, why does my friend’s soldier son and German daughter-in-law want to go back so badly? They can do better in Germany with him out of the Army than they can do here.
jeepman1
karolyn, an American soldier stationed in Germany is a lot different than being a German citizen. I have always enjoyed by time in Europe during various deployments. But, it is not the same as becoming a German citizen, paying German taxes and living under the laws. Many soldiers do opt to stay or return and like all things some really enjoyed it and thrived, others couldn’t wait to get back. Just like in our country, some like it, others don’t. Germany has issues just like us, and just like us their citizens struggle to deal with economic, political and social issues. Income taxes in Germany can be high with rates from 14-45%. But, unlike US taxes there are other taxes, as well. Germans pay a solidarity tax of 5.5% and a 9% Church tax. American soldiers do not endure these burdens and many do not even have to pay state taxes while stationed overseas. My point is that many of our soldiers need to realize they live in Germany on a kind of paid vacation (bad choice of words because they work their butts off). But you get my point.
http://folkartist.wordpress.com Libertytrain
it might be easier for him as opposed to another soldier if his wife is German and she comes from a family that owns their own home and it is common for a few generations to live together in the same home. But if his wife wasn’t German – it wouldn’t be as easy and yes, life is very controlled – from when you can mow your lawn to everything else. I do love it there but it’s kind of like the soup nazi, you follow a very strict method of doing things and there’s little tolerance if you don’t. No soup for you.

Interesting times when even ‘anti-American’ is twisted to mean ‘American’. It is only through lies and distortions and ignorance can cretins like Obama succeed. For an example read any of Eric’s postings. To be a Marxist, you must be a liar by definition.
jeepman1
Eric doesn’t lie about his socialist leaniings, he is pretty straight forward about his willingness to let govt run his life and steal from others to pay for it.
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
Wrong again JeepMan
I am for small local community governance and businesses. I would gladly pay higher taxes if it meant that my community and all in it did better and the environment was protected.
I am sick of paying for wars and big business subsidies.
I want a strong government with teeth when it comes to destroying the environment and any business activity that makes people sick or disabled.
We the people give Corporate Charters, we should demand that they have more teeth and better stewardship or we should revoke them. We should periodically review them. We should have a voice on the boards.
jeepman1
Eric, it only hurt when it is true. You have many times over advocated socialism. I was just saying you were at least honest about it! Most socialists are still in the closet, or in denial. Of course, a smaller, leaner govt at the local level is prefered, but I have always had the impession you were a supporter of this administration which has started more wars, and has been very unkind to local govts that do not support his policies.
Jeepman1 I get your point but there are those that won’t either because of ignorance or blindness. For anyone to say we are in good shape they have not read the new unemployment stats today darn they went up over 30,000 new claims. I really like your comment right to the point

This administration never got and wouldn’t get my Vote Jeepman. There’s way too much ASSumption going on here. And I believe that it doen’t yet matter which way we vote unless we first get money out of politics.

Eric, you have finally said something I can whole-heartedly agree with! There is only ONE ruling class.
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
I never advocate Socialism and especially not most people’s erroneous beliefs of what they think socialism is or what it could be.
I do like Germany’s Social Democratic version. I think it very intelligent, compassionate, conservative and inclusive.
I am for Capitalism with a Soul. I love what the people of Mondragon have chosen for themselves and their communities. The repercussions of their business choices have also affected/improved their local politics.
I find that the people who advocate small toothless govt and complete business freedom have no respect for the earth and no compassion for the people who need help and only care about money and they need to atone for their selfishness and they need to find compassion. I feel sorry for them. That’s not the American Dream.
I also think that people need get some courage and stop being so AFRAID of ideas they really don’t understand or know nothing about. Only what they heard from the propaganda machines.
I think there are good ideas to be plucked even from failed ideologies and that we should model excellence wherever we find it. I always remind people about Cuba and their 98% literacy and better health now they were forced into organic agriculture and high vegetable diets. Oh my god Cuba. Do you really believe that they will invade us, corrupts us with their ideas and we will become communists. Have you all lost your minds? What are you all so afraid of? Success!

Plain and simple he is a plant to distroy our nation by our true enemies and he is an enemy and a traitor and must be taken out like the garbage he is.
Doc Sarvis
Yet our country is on a better footing now than it was when he took office. Hmmm.
Sirian
Doc,
You have just planted one of the best “fools” statements I’ve seen in a while. “our country is on a better footing now then it was when he took office.” Really? Please explain how that is so when we have had an increase in our national deficit which is now sitting at over. . . OK, ya ready $15 Trillion and counting. To verify that number please go to: http://www.usdebtclock.org/ You call this the best footing? HA, what a joke!!
Doc Sarvis
Well, I called it a better footing (not best). We are out of half the wars that George Bush started and working our way out of the other one. We eliminated the world’s worst terrorist. The market is improving, housing starts are up, unemployment is down, foreclosures are declining (all slightly). Our automobile industry, which he gambled to save, is doing better. My subjective take is that our country’s standing among other countries is far better than it was when he took office. How’s that? Yes, the deficit is big (remember Cheney said that deficits don’t matter) but he has put forward measures to redce the deficit and has been blocked by conggress from implementing them.
Airangel
@ Doc Sarvis – do thine eyes deceive you? You and I must be viewing 2 different worlds.
I see empty parking lots where businesses used to thrive. I see more impoverishment and more street crime because no one has jobs, no motivation, no work ethic so their undiciplined behavior is being channeled into stealing, drug smuggling, prostitution, violence, basically up to no good. Every other home in Los Angeles and sanctuary cities can’t speak English contributing to more ignorance and cultural divide and decay in those cities. It’s sad really, such decay did not have to happen if we had real leadership, real inspiration and someone full of love leading this country rather than full of a mission to destroy this country because of all that hate and lies that was fed to him as a young boy. Hate fosters more hate and violene and never leads to a good outcome. People need structure and discipline and a sense of pride and purpose in their lives and only real leaders can bring that about. Someone with enough courage to rise above it all tht has inner strength and a love for all of Gods children.
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
That’s right the baby was going down the drain and he put a stop to it. The only questions remaining are Will it hold? Can it hold? Will we go back to our old ways and make it much worse?
You all are always talking about free market and business. Last time I looked you at a balance sheet it had assets and debts. Somehow now we look only at the national debt on it’s own without comparing it to assets. Instead you now conveniently compare it to GDP which by the way is flawed since we don’t count everything. When the swiss decided to reevaluate their GDP and count mothering, caring for the elderly and disbled and volunteer work, they discovered that that forgotten portion was actually larger that the part they were counting. So all of the sudden all were elated, males felt better about themselves for fianlly acknowledging women’s work and and the ever emotional stock market got a big kick in the pants.
What you should really be worried about is the continuing gambling on steroids as in the derivatives market exposure which is MUCH LARGER than all of the combined world GDP. Now that’s something to be afraid of and that is what we should put an end to now immediately before it’s too late.
Alan
Here are some important quotes for you to remember:
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
Even this quote wasn’t origional to Goebbels .
Several other famous indiviuals have quoted similar statements long before HItler and Goebbels.
“A lie told often enough becomes truth” – Vladimir Lenin.
“There’s nothing so absurd that if you repeat it often enough, people will believe it.” – William James (1842-1910) The father of modern Psychology
Sirian
Doc,
You really have an extremely high level of hatred for Republicans, don’t you? Why is it that you can’t see that it works both ways in Washington? Dummy, their playing you like a Stradivarius for sure. What is the primary problem we have? It’s called out of control spending. Total, complete endless spending! When you have that problem, enormous problem for sure, who and what is the root cause of it? Satisfy this group, satisfy that group, help these poor people out, help those poor people out. It locks in the minds of those that the all knowing government will be there to save you whenever you are having a problem and in so doing it locks in the votes. Why is it that there are so many “well seasoned” politicians that have been in office for decades? Think Doc, set your party hatred aside, if possible and look at it from a common sense side, not an ideological side, not a party side. You just may be surprised how simple it is to see.
Then again. . .
Doc Sarvis
Alan, I nominate the “trickle down of wealth” as the top lie in modern times.
Doc Sarvis
Sirian,
I don’t hate Republicans or Democrats. I love America and fight policies that will bring our country’s people down.
jeepman1
Your right Doc, with unemployment still above 8% and more people on food stamps than ever before, we are certainly “better off”. But then there is that whole big deficit thing that he said was “unpatriotic” for Bush, but apparently okay for him. Anyway, have you seen a budget lately? Then there are the daily scandals (Solyndra, FandF, etc.) And, he is now famous for starting conflicts without congressional authority. Of course, he has done a bang up job checking aggression from North Korea and Iran. And since we’re on foreign policy, I’m sure the Brits have forgotten the couple of faux pas this guy delivered to the Queen. BTW what was it that he promised Russia without consulting the Senate? Oh yeah to weaken our nuclear deterent. Darn those microphones! I see Gitmo is still open for business. And, exactly how many unelected czars do we need? Wouldn’t you say that race relations are doing just fine? I know that I don’t mind paying more at the pump, do you? Of course, food prices are soaring as well, but I “feel” better because my health insurance costs have gone up 30% this year. Thanks Obamacare.
So, let’s see…a whole bunch of people are still outa’ work, but more people are getting food stamps, we owe a lot of money to China, we don’t have a plan, our friends are pissed and our enemies don’t care what we think, the guy has little respect for that darned Constitution, he even denegrated the SCOTUS, blacks and whites are even more suspicious of each other, gas and food are up, but I feel better about myself. Okay things are just fine…
Steve E
Alan, you stated: “There’s nothing so absurd that if you repeat it often enough, people will believe it.” It is true. The Replies on this website prove that. There are many people that fall for that lie. You can’t fix stupid. Stupidity is a symptom of Evil of one of many forms. In my experience I have discovered that stupid people fall in to being a victim of one of the seven deadly sins. ( wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony). The reason you can’t fix stupid is because the stupid people are too stupid to realize that.
Sirian
Doc,
You have to watch this so you may get a better ideas as to what the “policies” are doing. This is in line with the all so popular Buffet rule/policy that Obama is pushing. It too is awash in lies as to how effective it will be. It won’t fix nuttin’!! But here’s the Catch 22, they have so many people transfixed as to it being the right thing to do. The right thing to do. The right thing to do. . . . follow me? http://www.theblaze.com/stories/cnbc-anchor-loses-it-over-obamas-buffett-rule/
Flashy
Sirian…the Buffet Rule will raise approximately 47 billion in new revenues. As you know..it’s a tax on income above $1 mil. Which means, anything earned over $1 mil is subject to a higher tax rate and captial gains if used for ordinary income is eliminated.
It’s a beginning. Any rational computation on decreasing the deficit involves budget cuts AND revenue increases. While the Buffet Rule is not the overall ‘cure”, it is a beginning and does begin to attack the massive wealth redistribution issue we have…a redistribution which began under Reagan …

@PTTP: I think you missed my point. I don’t think Obama is misguided. That’s my point. A socialist tends to be a misguided philanthropist. They try to do for everyone, and the only way that is possible is social engineering; i.e. socialism. Obama, in my opinion, is trying to deliberately and malevolently harm our nation.
Hence, I do not see him as a true socialist. I see him as an outright enemy of the state.
http://www.ifonlyphotos.com Alex Frazier
I don’t believe Obama is a true socialist. At heart, a true socialist tries to control everything for what they believe are benevolent reasons. It is rarely their goal to destroy their nation, but to make it better through a misguided sense of philanthropy via the government.
I have a hard time accepting that Obama truly has our nation’s best interest at heart, even in a misguided way.

Start changing your story from a war mongering and greedy country to a compassionate and generous giving country.
jeepman1
You are a funny man, Ken. Like most of your comrades that seem to be out in force today you have no concept of personal responsibility. And, since you have no pride you are more than willing to use govt force to get what you “need”. You have no insurance because you made life choices that did not set you up for success. Period. If you lost your job or failed in a business and cannot “afford” healthcare it is and always has been your responsibility to ensure your choices made this reality. Eric and other socialists, including you, are just afraid to be “on their own”. So, they espouse and support giving the state the “power” to take from others to provide for you. Very selfish of you. From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs, right? In a compact between “free” peoples, such as…hmmm…the Constitution, the very notion that the govt has the right to confiscate (read taxes) anything to redistribute to anyone else, is wrong. But, you and other socilists will never take the high road of self-reliance, it is always much easier to pass a new tax law and steal it from someone else. By the way, try a little self-reflection on your life, it is possible you actually failed.
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
Yes but you Jeepman ASSume you know the person you are talking about or what you are actually taking about.

A reply to a staement is only an assumption if one is stating how one really feels. If Ken’s whining about his current state and blaming it on others is not true, then, perhaps he shouldn’t claim it. I don’t care Eric if you have sympathy for Ken’s plight…Apparently your motherly instincts are on high alert today. I’m very tired of the same ole’ song and dance, “it’s not my fault!” And, I am exercisizing my free right to call you guys out on your selfish, childish ways. My last comment to Ken was to promote self-reflection, ever try it?
http://www.mototcarsfinancial.com Brad
Ken the reason health care has gotten so expensive is because there is no free market to sell over state lines. Get it right and understand completely befor calling WOLF!!
eddie47d
Thank you Ken and that is the main reason so many do without insurance. There is no cheap private health insurance and every state has them which makes them all unaffordable. Too many are left out and will remain left out unless there is big changes. The AHCA may do that but the way it is set up the private companies still control the business.
Tom W.

“There is no cheap private health insurance and every state has them which makes them all unaffordable.”
the reason there is no cheap private health insurance is becuase there is no cheap healthcare. The more the cost of health care goes up the more insurance will go up.

Just another rant to continue scaring the uneducated masses. You belong on Fox Wayne.
Seeing what the alternatives are so far, I hope that Obama has Socialism ideas in him and that he wins reelection and that we get Medicare for all because Fascism is what he inherited and Fascism is what we still have. It’s a cancer in our government and our society. Fascism is what Mitt Romney will keep alive. Corporations fully in control of our government. Fascism is what you guys are disguising as libertarian and tea party ideas.
Meanwhile Germany as a Social Democracy, (woa there’s that scary word again social), appears to be doing quite well compared to the rest of the western democracies. They have chosen to hang on to strong unions and strong wages. They still have a strong manufacturing base, universal healthcare and higher education. But then again they are also fiscally conservative, ( all with strong REGULATIONS), something the hypocrite American conservatives can’t seem to ever make happen.
A simple study of what communities and systems are doing better in these precarious times reveals a system of worker-owned cooperative corporations. Wow a system where the workers are the shareholders/owners, they make the executive and top management decisions. They have CHOSEN salary equity ratios around 6 to 1 between the highest and lowest paid and they choose to care about the health and well being of the people and the community by maintaining high employment instead of being more concerned with absent shareholder profits. They have chosen a new form of capitalism. Scary isn’t it!
You’ll find the Bologna area of Italy and Mondragon in Spain are perfect examples of this. Some areas of Latin America have risen from the ashes of fascism and failed IMF/World Bank abuse and financial collapse are also using this as a way to get back on their feet. They are restarting the factories abandoned by the wealthy (who have probably relocated with their money to Miami), and they are rebuilding their lives and communities. They are showing us the future if we are paying attention.
But that’s looking forward with courage and an open mind, something this crowd is afraid to do. All they can think about is going back to an illusionary utopian time in America like that is ever going to happen (take BACK the country). And I am pretty sure you don’t have any idea of when that would be and what it would mean, except for the ever present eliminating the federal govt. Should you be successful in driving the country back, I think you will get anarchy, chaos and lawlessness like the old west and then the robber barron eras. Maybe that’s what you really want, all with a side order of slavery and more fascism please.

LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS!!! Did that sink in there Eric?!! I didn’t think so, so I’ll try to explain although I’m convinced that I’m wasting my breath! My right to live as a free person doesn’t come from, first of all you (THANK GOD!!!), a government, a religious leader, a spiritual guide, NADA!!! But from God Almighty Himself! So before you or anyone thinks of even trying to ROB me of my SACRED priviledge, know that I am quite prepared to die in the defense of the same!!!
For God and country!!!

Dear Eric Bischoff,
You write: “I hope that Obama has Socialism ideas in him and that he wins reelection and that we get Medicare for all because Fascism is what he inherited and Fascism is what we still have. It’s a cancer in our government and our society. Fascism is what Mitt Romney will keep alive. Corporations fully in control of our government. Fascism is what you guys are disguising as libertarian and tea party ideas.” I agree that we are operating under a fascist system, and have been for some time. Please explain your statement “you guys are disguising as libertarian and tea party ideas.”
Best wishes,
Bob

Dear Bob Livingston
correct me if I am wrong but the people here that profess to be either libertarians and tea party lovers also put forth ideas that government always is the only problem and that we should let the free market prevail and everything will be alright.
It seems to me that the reason we are in this mess is because big business and the supposed free market system is corrupt, too big, and only cares about money and share holder profits. They are only interested in chasing the cheapest labor wherever they can find it even if it is borderline slavery labor. They also could care less about the environment, profits again are more important. How long can we keep that up?
Corporations have bought and control this government and I don’t hear any ideas from this crowd on how they plan on making things better. I think they will only make it much worse. They want business to have a free reign period. Like they can be trusted. Like CEOs that now pay themselves obscene salaries in these times can be trusted.
We don’t need to get rid of government, what we need is honest and effective govt. EWe need to close the revolving door. Isn’t that what the revolution and the founding fathers wanted. We need to keep it within certain boundaries. Out of our personal lives and focused on protecting this country within it’s borders and that includes our common wealth, the air, water and soil. We don’t need an empire and we don’t need to police the world and it’s resources. That sort of goes against the free market doesn’t it!
The entire focus of vile negativity is always on Obama. They can’t even have respect for the highest office. They can’t even use his name properly. To me that creams of underlying in denial racism which is still a big problem in this country. Many of them only woke up when he came to power. They let the disastrous Bush/Cheney thugs get by with a free pass and a get out of jail card.
Shouldn’t that nasty energy instead be focused on Wall Street and the banksters. Shouldn’t it join the Occupy movement? But no it just makes fun of that too.
Handing the keys to the house of the guys that just ransacked the place is not my idea of taking our country back. This mess didn’t just happen, it was a long time in the making and Reagan and his team which largely became the Bush team kicked it into high gear for the last 40 years.
I don’t see any difference in what they did and what is being proposed here. Enlighten me, show me a better mouse trap!
http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston
Dear Eric Bischoff,
I believe you paint with a broad brush when you generalize the readership with “people here that profess to be either libertarians and tea party lovers also put forth ideas that government always is the only problem and that we should let the free market prevail and everything will be alright.” That is why I sought clarification of your previous comment, “Fascism is what you guys are disguising as libertarian and tea party ideas.”There are some who say this and some, like myself, who say something else.
You write: “It seems to me that the reason we are in this mess is because big business and the supposed free market system is corrupt, too big, and only cares about money and share holder profits. They are only interested in chasing the cheapest labor wherever they can find it even if it is borderline slavery labor. They also could care less about the environment, profits again are more important. How long can we keep that up?” In this you are mostly correct. It is not the “free market system” that is corrupt. It the marriage of big business and government (fascism) and government’s (Presidents, Congress, bureaucrats in unConstitutional alphabet soup agencies) willingness to–or enthusiasm for–write laws and regulations that benefit selected big businesses to the detriment of other (both big and small) business and Americans in general that is the problem. If the system was truly “free market” then government would not be picking winners and losers with dollars printed willy-nilly by Treasury and regulations that apply to some but not others–both in this country and abroad.
You write: “Corporations have bought and control this government and I don’t hear any ideas from this crowd on how they plan on making things better. I think they will only make it much worse. They want business to have a free reign period. Like they can be trusted.” In this we are in agreement. You fret about “ideas from this crowd” for making things better. This is a generalization you make that is not completely true. Some good ideas can be found in suggestions from some, not others. Many here, maybe even most, are still learning how corrupted the system has become. They are just now beginning to look outside the paradigm to see what you and I see. Conventional wisdom is a difficult thing to shed.
You write: “Like CEOs that now pay themselves obscene salaries in these times can be trusted.” Here you and I may part ways. If a business is privately-owned, the CEO is perfectly within his right to set his compensation and that of his employees at whatever rate he chooses. The company is his, after all. Employees are free to negotiate their compensation and benefits. If they determine the pay is not sufficient for the labor they expend, they are free to look for work elsewhere or form a company of their own. If a business is publicly owned, the board (and conceivably the shareholders, though you and I know the system here is rigged) set the compensation. We can voice our objections if we are shareholders. We can voice our objections as consumers by not buying their product or service. Where I would object to a CEO of a private corporation or public corporation paying “obscene salaries” would be if the company receives money from the Federal government in the form of bailouts, loans and grants–especially if that company is nonviable as in the case of the “green” energy companies recently bankrupting or in the “too big to fails” that received special dispensation from the Federal Reserve and bailouts.
You write: “We don’t need to get rid of government, what we need is honest and effective govt. EWe (sic) need to close the revolving door. That sort of goes against the free market doesn’t it!” YES! I would agree with this almost completely. Where we might diverge–I admit I’m making a presumption here, based on some of your past comments–would be my thoughts that we need to return to Constitutional governance. I believe that is what many of the “libertarians and tea partiers” you mentioned earlier would like to see. However, some of them only want to return to Constitutional governance in certain areas but not others because they want to maintain the unConstitutional largess they receive from government or policies they agree with (as in so-called “social conservatives”) but would like to deny it to others. This can be found in those who claim the mantle of conservative, but support non-conservative candidates like the Bushes, Romney, Gingrich and Santorum, et al.
You write: “The entire focus of vile negativity is always on Obama. They can’t even have respect for the highest office. They can’t even use his name properly. To me that creams of underlying in denial racism which is still a big problem in this country.” Not entirely, and disagreeing with Obama and his policies is not necessarily racial in nature. I care not one whit about Obama’s color. There are some who do and some do who do not. I would not deign to presume I can read a man’s heart. I do object to his Marxist/fascist policies. Obama, like Bush before him, is operating at the behest of the string pullers–the elites–who operate behind the curtains. I have written in the past who these people are. Their goal is to destroy the U.S.
You write: “Many of them only woke up when he came to power. They let the disastrous Bush/Cheney thugs get by with a free pass and a get out of jail card.” This is true. However, that they are waking up is a good thing, is it not? It is our job, people like you and me, to help to point them in the right direction now that they are awakening.
You write: “Shouldn’t that nasty energy instead be focused on Wall Street and the banksters.” YES! And on the fascist government system that truly exists and enables them.
You write: “Shouldn’t it join the Occupy movement?” Not necessarily. You need to study what is happening behind the scenes there. Just like the Tea Party has been co-opted by the establishment, the OWS movement is being manipulated for the purpose of the elites.
You write: “I don’t see any difference in what they did and what is being proposed here.” The difference is the introduction by the Obama team of Marxism into the fascism perpetuated and expanded by the Bushes. If you look into Obama’s background with the open mind you profess to have, you must see that it is there. I have written about this. I don’t believe you to be completely trapped in the false left/right paradigm.
You write: “Enlighten me, show me a better mouse trap!” We must take the system back. It will be difficult. I believe, and have written, we must first go through the fire. By this I mean that we must endure the collapse of the system, which is coming. The elites are striving for this. Their goal is collapse the U.S. system, which will collapse the entire world economy, and institute a one world government whereby they control everything. We must first try and prevent this. To do this we must elect Constitutionally-driven candidates (electing Ron Paul is a start, but certainly not the end). The Internet, I believe, has become a big detriment to their plans. We must use it for our benefit while it is free and open. That is why so many are working so hard to take control of it. If we are unsuccessful with preventing the collapse, we must stand in the breach when it happens and ensure that we do not succumb to the elites and their machinations. I believe it will get uglier before it gets better.
Best wishes,
Bob

The reason that the US economy is in the tank is because of the democrats…
Lets start with bill clinton and his affordable housing for all program you know the program that forced banks to loan to people that didn’t have a job.
It is the governments fault that the US is sinking and oblama is adding to the problem

hmmm, and what program would that be? Since there NEVER was such a program…perhaps you could enlighten us?
If you are referring to the Community Reinvestment Act…put in place in the late 70's…it never 'forced' bankis to make any loans.
Jeesh…you guys have been on a roll this week making stuff up …

Bob, as always, spot on!
Eric, I am glad that you have not fallen prey to the left/right false paradigm that so many have! Labels have been allowed, by a complicit government, to be pegged to individuals that the government has deemed necessary to marginalize. These Neo-Cons are not on the side of the American people, look no further than the Dodd-Frank bill for that answer! “Progressive” Neo-Cons in both parties, Newt and Clinton, did away with the best piece of regulation this country had in Glass-Stegal. Furthermore, to defend the current administration because another did wrong is exactly what the partisan bickering is about today! To continue this is ridiculous and must stop immediately for our society to prevail. I never supported the Bush Family, Slick-Willy Clinton or O-blame-o. These globalist usurpers are the reason “trickle-down” got corrupted and are the power brokers that are getting what they can while they can before the system collapses.
Flashy
Mr. Livingston…in re; your comments back to Eric.
i hope this lays out in a readable format…
Your comments and paraphrases with Erics post..—> “It the marriage of big business and government (fascism) and government’s (Presidents, Congress, bureaucrats in unConstitutional alphabet soup agencies) willingness to–or enthusiasm for–write laws and regulations that benefit selected big businesses to the detriment of other (both big and small) business and Americans in general that is the problem.”
——
Omitting comments on the “unConstitutional alphabet…” wording… I am in agreement with both Eric and yourself. Though it is Congress which makes the laws, Presidents (via federal agencies) implement them. As you know, unless related to foreign policy issues, a President (or federal agency) cannot implement a policy or excercise a power which was not permitted or directed by Congress.
I agree with your (and Erics) comments about the oligarchy enjoyed by Big Business. One example is the “roll your own’ cigarette business. Since a tobacco tax bill passed in ’07 placing a higher tax on manufactured cigarettes, small companies…employing thousands overall…sprang up allowing the consumer to buy loose leaf tobacco and rolling it via a machine. Under a Senate bill passed in mid-March, Big tobacco lobbied for expansion of the tax and, in effect, putting these small companies out of business. It wasn’t for ‘health reasons’…the bill was written by and for Big Tobacco.
Targeting industries for expansion or R&D I would not fit into the catagories we are discussing (i.e. alternate energy) and such is forward looking and developing the tech and resources allowing for later open market competition once “the bumps” have been discovered etc …

The system is rigged as you observe. Shareholders have no power. Much like what I see Citizen’s United turning the US election process into. You are against Organized Labor. I see a man’s labor as all he has to bargain with, and since he is a small cog in the multinational system, united with all the employees…as a unit, gives them the power to be able to demand their safety and wages are acceptable and reasonable.
Where i might veer from my view of the Right to Unite and organize is the role of large “national” unions. The AFL-CIO, Teamsters, etc are an oligarchy iin and of themselves commanding control of the organized labor market.
If unions were to be limited to company wide or industry wide…and not a segment of a large overall ‘corporate’ union conglomerate, it might get my support. As well…business reform in vertical and horizontal integration would necessarily be part of the deal

We differ on the meaning of “Constitutional governance’. You read the Constitution is a much different way than I.
Out of our personal lives? Absolutely..including forcing religious beliefs on others (i.e. Choice or saying the recent HCR is against religion..which it obviously is not)
As for empire? Do we “need” to be one? by definition, we have to be. Economically we have the largest economy (by far) and as the US goes, so goes the world. Socially, English and American are the universal languages and design and styling is quickly becoming the focal point of societies everywhere.
militarioy? Again….i might agree to an extent as far as backing off some of the numbers we have around the world. Our military is wayyyyy bloated and tied too much to every segment of our industrial capacity. We do have enemies, adversaries, and realpolitik is the measure of any international relationship. A presence in the world is the price for being an empire..a position we have been given.
At this time is being an empire good or bad? I would argue, long term for the US and our society, it is a good thing…if we manage it right. Reality is, with the internet and the world growing smaller, one day there will be a one world guiding body. Whetehr it be 50 years or 200 years…there will be one barring a major catstrophe like a WW III.
i’d much rather have such a governing body controlled by the social and governmental mores of the nation and culture of the US than any other ‘dominant” culture and thought mechanisms..

Dear Flashy,
You write: “You are against Organized Labor.” I don’t believe I’ve ever said or written such a thing. I am for free association. If workers want to organize a labor union, that is fine. If an employer wants to negotiate with them as a union (ie, engage in collective bargaining), that should be his choice. However, if said employer chooses not to engage in collective bargaining, that should be his choice as well. I do not believe an employer should be forced by government to negotiate with a union. Nor do I believe a union should be given an special dispensations from government (ie, tax breaks, government contracts requiring union labor, special deals as in the auto bailouts, government funds or grants, laws requiring employees to be members, etc.). Nor do I believe unions should be allowed to engage in thuggery and intimidation if an employer chooses not to bargain with it (which they do, and they are allowed to get away with). Then unions would stand or fall on their own. I do not believe governments should engage in collective bargaining with unions, as there is no incentive for government to not meet the demands of the unions. Governments can accede to union demands because, unlike a businesses which must consider P&L, governments are not bound by such. They can either print more money–as in the case of the Federal government–or steal from the producers through increased taxation. Government is by its nature inefficient, and unionized government employees are even more so. The taxpayer, which must foot the bill for this inefficiency, has no recourse and no say when government unions hold the government hostage demanding ever-increasing salaries and benefits. It does not make for better government. People who are unhappy with the salaries and benefits offered by government are free to look elsewhere for work, just as those in the private sector are free to look for work when they become dissatisfied.
Best wishes,
Bob

Bob Livingston, thank you so much for your words. I cannot disagree and you’re absolutly correct in what you’ve stated in response to Eric “the Red”. Each day here, brings better clarity to the evils we, as Americans, must sort through, identify and resist. Everyday that someone starts to understand what the real enemy has done and is doing to destroy our country, our liberties and our freedoms is a positive move forward. We need websites like PLD and true “warriors” of freedom like yourself and your staff to keep sending the message of truth. Such a shame that Ron Paul is ignored and muzzeled by the MSM and the naysayers have swallowed the anti-Paul rhetoric hook, line and sinker.

Good commentary, Bob. We live in very perilous times. What’s coming will be quite unlike anything in our history. We have been sold down the river by those that control everything. Dark times lay ahead.

Obama’s application of Chicago Politics is just a liberal form of fascism. Bush? Obama? Two sides of the same tired old coin.
Obama wouldn’t have gotten this far without a lot of cooperation from BOTH sides of the coin.
If you want to help fix things, keep your eye on the ball (the Constitution) and not on attacking either side of that coin. The coin was cleverly designed to trap you into slinging arrows back and forth — as observed herein — and thus ignore the less obvious fact that the coin itself (destroying the Constitution and all that it represents) is the real problem.
Stay on task, folks. There’s tons of evidence that there really is a “Man Behind the Curtain” (ref: the Wizard of Oz) and someone is working hard to play a covert game of chess with real, live pieces. (Thee and me.) A major portion of their game seems to be devoted to shifting our attention away from the Man Behind the Curtain, and from the looks of it I’d say they really know their stuff.

There are other drinks besides ‘koolaid’, folks. Truth. How ’bout those factories owned by wealthy people? They provided employment for families. Kinda neat, huh? What about the dream of more balanced treatment of employees by employers? What about a more sensitive conscience for us all? Communism and Socialism and Fasciasm does not offer people a good life-or even life. What government is not corrupt? Let us go back to the government of and by and for a righteous, and moral people? May work better!

many companies in the US are employeed owned, this is nothing new. Can you say Walmart Eric?
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
Give me a break Brad if you can’t understand the difference between a real worker owned cooperative corporation and Walmart you’ve got a big problem.
The workers have no say in how the company is run and worse yet they have no say in their own livelihood because they can’t organize.
Walmart and the big box store models (read “Free Lunch”) single handedly (well with the help of corrupt local governments) destroyed small businesses in America to bring you cheap junk for your massive consumption. 80% of it is made in China and they are not only the lowest prices they also pay the lowest wages.
DaveH
We allow you the Freedom, Eric, to participate in a worker-owned company. Why can’t you allow us the Freedom to participate in a non-worker-owned company?
All we ask, Eric, is that you and your controlling compatriots allow us peons to make voluntary transactions with our fellow humans without your interference. Is that too much to ask?

I wonder how many poor people or welfare recipients have ever given Eric a job, if he has ever been off the government dole.

Eric, you failed to bring out the rest of the story in Germany. They are successful because they chose to NOT bail out the rest of the SOCIALIST contries on the failure of the ERO. They kept their wealth in Germany, as would be the case here if it were not for liberal regulations pushing big bussiness over seas. Americans do not need foreign investmant to promote a healthy econmy. We have all the natural recources here to survive another hundred years of famine created by the likes of SOCIALIST goverments. China and the rest of the world needs the USA to survive, we DO NOT NEED THEM.

You are kidding right! That’s why they’re successful. Aren’t you putting the cart before the horse. They were successful with their SOCIALISM and they are choosing to be fiscally conservative. Socialism is for the people not for banksters. Are you brain dead? All countries should default now and tell the Banksters where to go. They should take their pain now and reorganize. They should learn all their lessons and not do business with Goldman Sachs which should be broken up and some of their people should go to jail.

Germany does have good companies but don’t pay their CEO outrageous salaries. The playing field is more level and most Europeans don’t fight like cats and dogs for corporate greed like we do in America. Each worker sacrifices for each other in Germany also. Where if a company slows down few are laid off but takes a reduction in pay to keep everyone working. Corporates here push workers into the unemployment lines yet continue to boost their own salaries. We are wicked to each other these days.

Eric the Red, between what you’ve stated in the past, yesterday and how you’ve started today off, I’m getting a little concerned about whether you do or do not have the capicity to refrain yourself from going “postal” when you blow your lid.
I’m also starting to see some your rants are becoming eerily similar to that of the commie/socialists involved in the early organizing of labor unions of the ’30′s and ’40′s.
Here’s an editoria from Max Shachtman, the editor of the Trotskyist movement’s ongoing theoretical magazine The New International’s(1937) about the political situation in the United States.
“It is entirely inconceivable that American imperialism can succeed in resisting the inexorable tendencies that are pulling it into the vortex of the coming world war.
“If the working class is unable to prevent the outbreak of war, and the United States enters directly into it, our party stands pledged to the traditional position of revolutionary Marxism.
“It will utilize the crisis of capitalist rule engendered by the war to prosecute the class struggle with the utmost intransigence, to strengthen the independent labor and revolutionary movements, and to bring the war to a close by the revolutionary overthrow of capitalism and the establishment of proletarian rule in the form of the workers state.”

Fine comments, Eric. Unfortunately there is little potential for stimulating actual thought and meaningful discussion here. This latest piece of cartoon-like video that manages to grab as many non-sensical pejoratives about Obama and slam them into yet a new all-purpose definition of evil seems to reflect the struggle to find new ways to feed the beast.
The most disturbing aspect of all of this is the degree to which the well-oiled Rove/Koch/Shaife/Murdoch machine has succeeded in creating this alternative universe to deflect attention from the reality of the firm hold the plutocracy has on this society. If you haven’t done it yet, get into the comment section of the WSJ and you will see the same themes and fantasies – albeit more articulately stated. Any effort to bring fact, logic or reason into the discussion only get their knickers in a knot.
How we ever get the public discourse back to a level where real solutions can be found is beyond me. I now miss Bill Buckley a lot and maybe what we really need are a few more serious, intelligent small “c” conservatives to get into the mix. After watching the level of the Republican nominating process, however, I doubt that this is even possible.

It seems that you are very excited over your ” system of worker-owned cooporative corporations ” . Do we have any examples of how these types of efforts fare over the long term? As it turns out we do;
1949- Mao Zedong begins a program to ” Redistribute land” from the ” rich landowners ” to the people! Resemble anything today? Perhaps the ” Fair Share ” rhetoric? Everyone, except for the land owners, are very happy! Sound anything like the GM restructuring?
By the early part of 1950s, Mao set up ” Mutual Aid Teams “, to help the farmers, of course!
1955- Mao encourages(?) the people to ” voluntarily ” organize into collectives
1959- Mao ceases all pretenses, collectivism is mandated and property ownership is forbidden. Does this comapre at all with the way Hitler used Labor Unions to gain power and then in May of 1933, outlaw them?
1959-61- Inspite of all the manipulation and ” Improvements ” to the system, over thirty million people starve to death! To keep the system alive and avoid world scrutiny, he sets up shame Collectives like the Dazhai Collective, with exaggerated harvest and production claims, and heavy subsidization!
1976- Mao dies and Deng Xiaoping assumes leadership- by 1979 Ding begans to return controll, if only by renewable leases, to the individule farmer. By 1985, using the same tools and the same methods, the same farmers had doubled the production levels!
Eric, collectivism has been tried heavily throughout history, it has never been able to achieve self- sustainability over the long term!

Well, well Eric – I see the mayday parade strolled by your house with their weapons in full display. In all of your myopic tirade, I did not find any explanation why all the attempts for your utopia have ended in filthy socialist dictatorships?
Hitler, we all know what happened to the Germans after they drank his kool-aid. Hitler was your typical myopic Socialist that evolved into a dictator. Then there is Lenin, again a myopic Socialist that evolved into a dictator. Lenin was so good that his filthy Socialistic dictatorship continued on and produced the likes of Stalin that only increased the police state and committed enough murders to even make Hitler blush! The list continues almost endlessly with the same outcome. The outcome is the most destructive in both human and natural collateral. Stalin destroyed humans and the USSR destroyed nature. Hitler did both!
The best man can hope for is Jeffersonian republicanism steeped in stoicism. I want Man to leave both me and nature in tact enslaving neither to Man’s idocy and humanism. You sir have a half cocked myopic view of the human psyche that inhabits the outer rim of the universe. Man with absolute power will always be corrupt and a slave to His vices. I prefer to live a life of stoicism embraced by nature and virtue and I will continue to search for Man’s all elusive freedom and liberty!
DaveH
So Eric, the man who isn’t afraid of ideas, says this — “Just another rant to continue scaring the uneducated masses. You belong on Fox Wayne”.
He isn’t afraid of ideas — unless they don’t mesh with his.
Eric says — “Seeing what the alternatives are so far, I hope that Obama has Socialism ideas in him and that he wins reelection and that we get Medicare for all because Fascism is what he inherited and Fascism is what we still have. It’s a cancer in our government and our society. Fascism is what Mitt Romney will keep alive. Corporations fully in control of our government. Fascism is what you guys are disguising as libertarian and tea party ideas”.
Oh sure, let’s take the control of our lives away from the Rich people who can’t force us to do anything without the aid of Government, and just jump right into the fire with outright Government Force. Oh, but don’t worry, Eric and his fellow elitists know what’s best for us.
Then Eric uses Germany as a model of Socialism, when in fact they rank in the 90th percentile for Business Freedom, and Property Rights, neither of which Eric condones: http://heritage.org/index/country/germany
Again, my question is — Is Eric just ignorant, or is he just assuming the readers of his useless tripe are?
Then Eric says — “But that’s looking forward with courage and an open mind, something this crowd is afraid to do. All they can think about is going back to an illusionary utopian time in America like that is ever going to happen”.
So in the very same sentence, Eric proclaims to have an open mind, but then disses anybody who subscribes to the ideas of our Founders as “utopian”.
Then Eric, a Progressive who wants to force his ideas on you and steal your money using Big Government as his Bully Boys, has the gall to claim that pursuing Freedom will result in Slavery and Fascism.
Unbelievable. Either, Eric, you are incredibly ignorant, or you are assuming that others are so ignorant as to overlook your obvious hypocrisy and swallow your Propaganda.
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
Oh here we go DaveH woke up and is at his usual limited best.
You can keep repeating your lies over and over like a good little Fascist Dave it won’t make it any truer.
I never profess anything about stealing your money. I only put forth IDEAS about AGREEING to work and live differently which some people in the world have CHOSEN to do and they are being quite SUCCESSFUL while we are merely CRASHING and soon BURNING.
You want to blame me and my ideas when in reality the ideas are put forth are almost never tried while your pretend free market and conservative, really fascist ideas are what’s driven this country and the world economy into the ground.
DaveH
I am so glad that you have finally come fully out of the closet, Eric, so the other readers can have a good example of where we’re headed if we let Progressives grab any more control of our lives.
eddie47d
You can be so condescending Dave H. Much of the economic collaspe was brought to us from reckless Capitalists (whether crony or “pure”). They hit and ran with their loot and those that didn’t got help from our “socialist” government. Either way they made out pretty darn good. Maybe a “purer” form of Capitalism would work but I doubt if Conservatives would be any kinder. They will continue to be the haves (in attitude) and to hell with the have nots. History has also proven their behavior in how they treat those below them. Kinda like communism in reverse.
Kate8
Eric – LOL. We see what a prime example you are of what passes for “education” today.
http://twitter.com/ericbischoff Eric Bischoff (@ericbischoff)
Personally I am not afraid of ideas, books and alternative viewpoints. I welcome all to the table. I am not for burning books or forbidding teachings. And because I understand that history is always written by the victors, I am also for alternative historical viewpoints. That’s why I also love “The People’s History of the United States” by Howard Zinn. I have an open mind. Woe! that must make me a liberal!
How can one make up their mind on what they really like unless they hear and are allowed to hear and are exposed to many viewpoints and ideas!

Eric says — “Personally I am not afraid of ideas, books and alternative viewpoints”.
So explain to us, Eric, why so many of your comments are filled with condescension, name-calling, and other adolescent manipulative techniques against those who state ideas that you disagree with?
Tom W.
Eric, you, Karlolyn, Doc and ideology that y’all follow is the closed minded view! Y’all believe that you have the right to live your lives the way you wish without having to endure citicisim from people who don’t agree! That my dear comrades is fascim!!! Whatever two (Or more!) consenting adults do behind closed doors is between them and God, if you don’t want to hear that it’s sin, then KEEP YOUR TRASH BEHIND CLOSED DOORS!!! We’re not about silencing anyone, but having an open adult (I realyze that I also can be a little adolesent at times! As Deerfootinmouth can attest, LOL!!!) conversation about the issues! You poor, naked, wretched souls (Rev. 3:14-22) have put YOURSELVES on such a high intellectual plain that you actually BELIEVE that y’all KNOW what’s best for the rest of us, when in reality, the world is in the shape that it’s in because your ideology has already gone too far!!! It’s called amorality, if it feels good, do it, whatever floats your boat, etc.!!!

Eric, Karolyn, Doc,
It is good to learn about true history and the types of governments many nations have had and compare…
Oligarchy, Monarchy, Socialism, Communism, Marxism, Fascism, and Capitalism…
And when all have done so I would think that MOST people would choose the type of government that does NOT Control their every move and choice and starve or imprison them, but gives them the MOST Freedoms and Liberties of any government… our Republic and its Constitution have done that …until twisted power hungry men over-ride the Constitution and take them away… and we are left less FREE.
Kate8
Eric – Since you like to use the word “woe”, you might want to consider what it is you are putting across here, because “woe” is, indeed, what we see coming from the Left.
Perhaps you mean “whoa”. Or, maybe it’s more like a Freudian slip? More likely, though, it’s simple ignorance. But then, it’s cool to be dumb in todays leftist mindset. Makes it so much easier to make use of you.
Had the Left not taken charge of our indoctrination system with the purpose of dumbing down our kids down, you’d have better use of the language to get your meaning across.
Not that many would even notice.
Tom W.
You tell him ladies!!! I know that I’ve posted this quote before, but this seems like a perfect time for it!
“Democracies have serious drawbacks. They certainly are not better than they ought to be. But corruption can occur under any kind of government. And I think that every serious student of history will agree, upon consideration, that our Western democracies are not only the most prosperous societies in history – That is important, but not so very important – but the freest, the most tolerant, and the least repressive large societies of which we have historical knowledge… One must fight those who make so many young people unhappy by telling them we live in a terrible world, in a capitalist hell. The truth is we live in a wonderful world, in a beautiful world, and in an astonishingly free and open society. Of course it is fashionable, it is expected, and it is almost demanded from a Western intellectual to say the opposite.” – Karl Popper
DaveH
Let’s face it, Eric. You have no choice but to make an effort to manipulate people with name-calling, condescension, and ridicule because your ideology has no logical legs on which to stand.
Flashy
LOL…this is hilarious. OK..so thereis a Special Studies seminar offered at a university (someone should check the PSu class offerings before spouting off). Very difficult to locate as it’s not listed inthe class offerings. It took awhile to locate it. The LISTED by name and course offerings are current government and structure (see the offerings for Pol. Sci).
So…one should black out any opportunity to examine the structure of ideologies except ‘approved’ ones? Stifle intellectual thought and exposure to a complete spectrum of ideas and thought?
in other words, turn everyone into a copy of some who post here (ex. DaveH, JeffH, brad etc) who pretend they know something, but quickly expose their “knowledge” as being very superficial, without thought, who’s intellectual prowess is to paste a link to a site which they don’t read the articles for the most part, and who don’t have the intellectual capacity of a salamander.
BTW…PSu has a very good reputation for it’s Business degrees and graduates of the Business Program…a very marxist area of study. Jeesh …

Wayne is absolutely right – Obummer is without question a stealth Socialist/Communist/Marxist/Fascist. The most radical president this country has ever had. Yet we still have the useful idiots that can’t see this. Oh how they show up here on a daily basis. His mentor during his teen years in Hawaii was the elusive yet well known Frank Marshal Davis. If you don’t know who he was – look it up!! http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-communist-mentor/ That is but one simple source – there are many others. Eric the Red says “Wow and scary”. BUT! He so often tells us how we are also fearful of “change” and what he refers to as “progressives” and “progressive thoughts”. Imagine that? I think Eric the Red thonks we’re all delusional for wanting to cling to the vision’s of our founding fathers, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence. Yeah, Eric the Red wants freedom for all, as long as it’s the “progressive” freedom that you envision. Now that’s truly scary.
Sirian has it right Eric the Red. We’re Not In Kansas anymore!
Progressivism advocates—then and now—a total break from the principles of freedom articulated in our founding documents, particularly the Declaration of Independence. It seeks to either get around or dismantle limitations on government power, the very constitutional limitations established in the Constitution for the protection of individual freedom.
For this reason, the progressives desire for something old in world history, not something new.
“No
advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people.
Those who wish to proceed in that direction cannot lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.”
- President Coolidge, July 1926
As such, in the context of individual freedom progressives seek to roll back, not forward, the hands of progress; they seek .regression, not progression. http://www.freedomlessons.net/freedom4.html

Today he will be Republican to the Republicans, Socialist to the Socialists, Liberal to the Liberals, Leftist to the Leftists, Democrat to the Democrats, Christian to the Christians, Athiest to the Athiest, a woman to the women’s movement. I can expand and carry this to its’ natural conclusion.

Killer quote JeffH!!!
Karolyn
Kate, Jeff, etc. I really cannot believe that you truly think that people who post on this site with views opposing yours are being paid. It just boggles my mind! What is wrong with political discourse? It appears that you don’t want it but would rather just keep preaching to the choir and supporting each other’s beliefs without any challenge. Sounds kinda like fascism. I can’t believe that NOTHING Flashy or Eric, etc. has ever said has caused you pause. You talk of liberals wanting everyone to be like them when you are doing the same thing. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, because of the variety of views posted here, I have learned a great deal and have changed over the past two years or so. I appreciate the opposite views I read because I learn from them. Thank goodness we don’t all agree on everything.

that boggles your mind. Naive comes to mind!

Socialism is incremental and, to most, a non-issue until it’s too late. When it comes to Obama, res ipsa loquitur. After more than three years of Obama’s socialist actions, any other explanation, whether packaged with a PhD, is disingenuous or ignorant at best. Socialism is as socialism does.
oh oh
A well-read and informed person would realize that certain “other” ideas, like socialism, have come in incremental and stealthy ways throughout modern history and, due to their inherent fallacies (e.g., denial of inalienable rights), have failed every time. A well-read and informed person would just say “no” and focus on productive things likely to accomplish real progress, and not the faux progress of progressives.
http://wideyguns.com Wildey
Who can put principals behind the labels Republican and Democrat? Socialist, and some conservatives, don labels that are palable with the people and then gradually change them to fit their own agenda. An early 1900 Liberal would sound like Ron Paul if you can believe that. Lenin told his workers to introduce and change words because people think in words and there accepted definitions is what the people are. Lenin’s teachings are a mentor for Obama. Clinton did that with the word “is” and got with his amoral actions. The smart deviate was “funnin” with the people. I use a reproduction of Noah Websters 1828 dictionary and believe me its 180 degrees out with todays definitions. Obama and his ilk are dangerous beyond measure. Hitler said, give me one generation and I’ll make them to be what I want.

Eric, the obama’s “ISM” is COMMUNISM of the Soviet school. He is sleeping and dreaming to establish Dictatorial Tyrannous regime first in America, second GLOBALLY thru the UN, the head of which he is planning to be – such kind of the GLOBAL messiah – “seviour”.
Eric, I am sure you know the FACT that obama never attended the Columbia College as he claimed in his books. Indeed at that exact time he was attending the Moscow Patrice Lumumba University (USSR) for the foreign students (from Africa and Latin America) about which he never nowhere reported. (Google Patrice Lumumba and find out who he was.) The FRAUD obama was enrolled in as a student from Kenya under the name Barak Mounir Ubayd. What students studied there: Marxism, International Communism, how establish communist regimes in countries. His grandfather and mother were communists; his father had communistic views. Why his mother studied Russian?
Eric, none of your “labels” are describing CHARLATAN’s views. In reality he is RACIST, ANTI-conservative, ANTI-American, ANTI-Constitution, ANTI-Tea Party, ANTI-Christian and therefore is unequivocal antagonist to the Christian Church, and he has strong desire of her complete disappearance as it was in the Soviet Union. Communism teaches that “Church is the opium for people”. Why? Because the real Christian Church is the obstacle for the acceptance of immorality (homosexuality, adultery, lust, envy, lie, corruption, etc.) in the society. And stupid Christian are worshiping to CHRIST and not CORRUPT LEADER and reject any and all UNBIBLICAL ideology.
And in addition he is CRIMINAL/FELON.

What America has rotting it and wasting it away is the racially mixed up adopted illegitimate child of a 17-18 year old unmarried girl by a 25 year old, already married non-American African foreign adulterer, called Obama, they begot. Obama is passing himself as “a natural born Citizen.” by refuting the Constitution and all international adoption laws.
Obama, in actuality is simply a “No Person” constitutionally and America’s enigma of an unqualified illegal president, who is totally incompetent and unknown historically. Obama is not even a legal America citizen, who once existed under the name of Barry Soetoro as a Muslim, schooled as an Indonesia citizen, speaking Arabic reciting their Koran. Obama never repatriated himself, for he never was qualified as an American with an adopted foreigners surname and a recorded Indonesian citizenship. Obama’s name change confirms he was never a “natural born Citizen” as was Rosemary’s Baby from New York, New York, constitutionally, while entering America as a foreign exchange student.
Obama’s own mother’s Deaf Certificate, reads Mrs. Lolo Ann Soetoro. Barry’s own mother denied Obama’s alleged surname in death. Dare “We the People” stand to correct and talk about this racial division and deny his charge of racial incest, black on white cracker racial hatred spewed by Obama, who does personify it, criminally?
When Obama states:
“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction!”
“America is not a Christian nation!”
“There is none worthy of being worshiped except Allah!”
This racially mixed up un-American seditionist enigma called Obama/Soetoro has no conscience or creditability and is certainly “No Christian” or American! Obama has a wealthy sickroom of Hollywood following mannequin actors and union seducers under constant suicidal watch of care givers like the old Bolshevik style progressive party of Margaret Sanger and Hillary Clinton postulate, very odd, Obama’s type is on their list for extermination, deemed inferior, LOL! They are actually a wild bunch of guiltless elite political pundit wannabe hacks of the mass media that will sway voters and support him, LOL journalistically, willfully destroying America consciously, reciting change and lies!

Just like the self-proclaimed “Patriotic” conservatives are stealth Nazi’s. Like the Nazi party under Adolph Hitler, the “Ministry of Propaganda” (Fox News) started a massive smear campaign to malign and degrade other parties (Democrats), social (Gays and Lesbians), religious (Muslims), and ethnic (poor black and laboring Hispanics) groups. We have witnessed “Radical Right Winger Ultra Conservative” using big government to limit people’s freedom of choice in the past. Just look at the mess the borders are with conservative drug laws. These laws have made matters worse instead of better since “Adolph Reagan” declared a “War on Drugs”. In 1986 we incarcerated 200,000 people and today it is more than a million. Now if your measure is conservatives have run up one of the biggest bureaucracies to incarcerate more Americans at the tune of about $40,000 per prisoner on the American tax payer for committing and act or poor personal choice, then they win hands down. Furthermore, the drug industry was an unorganized bunch of hoodlums making a few bucks, but now the “Job Creators have created an $800 billion a year enterprise making damn near what we pay for our military. Sorry Wayne Allan Root, but the real problems of this country emanate from those who pretend to be the protectors of it. The Data and not the rhetoric of the “Ministry of Propaganda” have shown it to be true.

You’re correct, Mr. Obama has indeed been exposed to other ideas, ideas that are contrary to American ideas. Such ideas would be communism and Islamism.
Most all of his mentors, friends, professors, and advisors have been socialists or communists from his parents, to Frank Marshall Davis his pedophile communist mentor, to the friends and professors he chose in college, to Cooper Union, to Alice Palmer in the IL State senate, to Saul Alinsky, to his leftist lawyer wife, to the starters of his political career the domestic terrorist Ayers and the communist New Party, to the Rev. Wright and Liberation theology, to Rahm Emanuel, to Van Jones, to Mike McKnight a Maoist, and to Rashid Khalidi a radical professor.

This is right up there on the laugh o meter alongside Rep West (R-Fla) recent comments that there “currently are 78-81 Communists in Congress”.
If one listened to what President Obama was campaigning on in ’08, it was a moderate/slightly conservative platform. Nothing radical about it. He espoused solid, reasonable economic policies which he has acted upon. He counseled a steady path in foreign policy matters which are by any measure a success. He has on many occasions tried to work and compromise with Congress, only to be met with unreason and irrational stances.
If one were to place him alongside another past president, he is more aligned with Reaganesque policies and approaches than any other president since Reagan. And he was correct when he observed Reagan would not be able to win a GOP primary today.
Only the irrational, the Far Right, and the TPer led by the TP trilogy (fear, hate, ignorance) would deem this President anything but a solid Moderate.

nanette…this president has been nothing but a conservative Moderate from Day One. Only those with a tenuous grip on reality would state differently.
Proof is ample. The GOP and the wacked Right (to include the TP and the American Taliban) has to distort, lie, and take out of context any policy in order to demonize it. The GOP cannot come up with alternatives to most of the policies he has championed. And even on this site…there are literally none who can offer up alternatives to his policies other than something which is so radical as to defy reason and rational thought.

Right on Jake, he is a definite communist. The actions he has taken to remove liberty from the people are dead on in the commie playbook. Flashman says — “If one listened to what President Obama was campaigning on in ’08, it was a moderate/slightly conservative platform. Nothing radical about it. He espoused solid, reasonable economic policies which he has acted upon”.
Of course he did. He (like most Sociopathic Politicians) told the voters whatever it took to get elected.

Given that Flashman works so hard at his misinformation, I have to conclude that he is at least above average intelligence. So what else could he be, but a Sociopath — one who does whatever it takes to get what he wants, damn morality.

One of the actions of Progressives is the doctrine of distorting facts to outlandish proportions. Did Obama’s people write this tripe for you?
You claim “Obama campaigned on a moderate/slightly conservative platform”. Truth is, except for telling Joe “Spread the wealth around” (gee, nothing radical about that), he never talked about economics (he couldn’t run a candy store), and people were dumb enough to vote for him anyway.
Then you claim “He counseled a steady path in foreign policy matters which are by any measure a success”. Success?? Really?? Where? He is the laughing stock of the rest of the world. He has made EVERYBODY mad.
Then you claim “He has on many occasions tried to work and compromise with Congress, only to be met with unreason and irrational stances”. Really? Show us one instance of compromise (Bush tax cuts and “single payer don’t count; HIS OWN PARTY WOULDN’T BACK HIM). What he does is lays out an intractable position, then screams “Bad Congress” when they don’t roll over.
But the most laughable (if we could just stop crying): “he is more aligned with Reaganesque policies and approaches than any other president since Reagan.” Reagan cut tax rates to bring in (at that time) record tax revenues and grow the economy; Obama – oh never mind! Reagan never tried to create a “Domestic armed force” like Obama is doing (yes, Obama did say he would do that during the waning days of the 2008 campaign, and people were dumb enough to vote for him anyway). And Reagan never had a congress vote AGAINST his budget 441-0 (THIS YEAR), and Reagan never had congress refuse to even consider his budget (Obama last year). And Reagan never sued a state for following the law (Arizona). And Reagan never had his NLRB goons try to prevent a company from building a factory (Boeing, SC). Or take over large chunks of our economy (bamking, ins, health, auto). Moderate like Reagan???? Get serious.
Finally your “Only the irrational, the Far Right, and the TPer led by the TP trilogy (fear, hate, ignorance) would deem this President anything but a solid Moderate”. Really??Compared to Stalin or Mao or everyone’s favorite Fascist (Hitler), or Hamas or Hezbollah, yeah, Obama is a moderate. And who is it who is REALLY not only using but fomenting fear, hate ignorance? Oh, yeah Ogama, using Alinski’s tried and true method to divide and conquer.

Flashy you are knee deep in excrement. You are warped in big government control and especially in this establishment. You are blind to the obvious and in spite of the facts refuse to believe the obvious. Yes, the Founding Fathers were so radical, so radical in fact that they fought a Revolutionary War to change they way they were being treated. Maybe you need a history lesson. The history of this country goes back much farther then the last 15 years, before Clindon and Carter. The Republican of today is where the Democrat of yesteryear was and the Democrat of today have become socialist in nature and ideas. Don”t ruin my country. Move. You say this is your country so you will not move. If it is your country and you like the ideas you would not want to change it. SO MOVE. Move to Cuba or another communist country.

I’m hate to tell you this, but Obama has not tried to compromise with the republicans,it was his way or no way.He has walked out of meetings, because he could not get his way.If you had been awake you would know this…………The republicans has offered job bill after job bill, and the democrats will not bring them to the floor Why because it’s not their ideal or Obama’s………..just keep track on the goverment web sites and you will learn a few things………
Flashy, You like so many others are so solid in your beliefs that you would vote for a terrorist if they were to run as a Dem. Don’t take this personal, there are Rep. that would do the same on the other side of the fence. We call them diehards Dems. are Dem. and will vote Dem. regardless of who the person is. Repubs. are Rep. and will vote Rep. regardless of who the person is. I can only hope that you can see where I am coming from. As for me I will not vote for anyone that is now in office, I am an independent, and only vote for a person after doing my own research. I will not listen to the media, they don’t report the truth, and at times they don’t report on news that we need to hear for fear of the consequences. The fact is that WE THE PEOPLE have allowed the people in Washington to do as they please for too long and it is time to replace all incumbents, and send a message that WE THE PEOPLE are still in charge. Now you can vote Dem. or Rep.I really don’t care as long as you vote to send the message,,, WE THE PEOPLE WILL NO LONGER TOLERATE YOUR SELF CENTERED ACTIONS. YOU WILL DO THE JOB YOU WERE SENT TO DO AND ONLY IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE OR GET FIRED. It would seem that getting fired is the only message they will understand.I won’t say I am for or against any one person, that is my personal opinion and you will have to live with yours. I don’t think that you can disagree that we need to get control of our country again, and stop leaving it up to the few ellected.

i'm all for that. As I have stated in past postings…while i will not vote GOP in the General this year…i'm not an idiot nor robot wanting to cede this nation to propagandists and anti-American elements…I will not vote for any Incumbent during the primary.
TML … yes, by any measure Pres. Obama's foreign policy is a success. One can always hope for more, but what has been done is all that could reasonably be expected. .
JUKEBOX
You must be talking about Obama when you talk about fear, hate, etc. He is the most divisive President I have seen in my 72 years. He is certainly as moderate as his heroes, Alinsky, Hitler, Lenin, Marx, Ayers, etc. He has a deep seated hatred for the United Kingdom for the way they treated his grandfather he never knew, and it transfers to his ambition to fundamentally transform America into something we will not recognize.
eddie47d
What are you on Jukebox? It’s not good for older people to combine drugs. There is nothing but evil from those who compare Obama to Hitler. Their ability to think correctly are completely gone and irrational.

Why am I not surprised falsy would say that! You’ve taken your ridiculous and intentional banter to new heights, up into the stratosphere.

FALSY HAS ADMITTED THAT HE IS PAID FOR BEING HERE AT PLD DOING “RESEARCH” FOR HIS JOB!” <— jeffH
Wow…how you turned "researching" into being paid for being here is beyond comprehension. So if i go to the library, i'm being paid to browse library books and spy on librarians? When i go to PGE and look at generational outputs, sources, and sector usages i'm a spy for CRB? When i travel to the Ag Dept at the capital and look over planting and field reports I'm a plant to environmentalists? When i meet with the local lumber, paper and steel mills to discuss import pricing and exports i'm a plant for the Chinese? LOL
Wow …. Y'all are full of self delusional importance if you think there are paid operatives coming to this site to disrupt it or monitor it.
but then…JeffH isn't exactly known for a high level of intellectual prowess.
http://gravatar.com/hattles JeffH
It’s no wonder falsy has no credibility…with responses like this: “Wow…how you turned “researching” into being paid for being here is beyond comprehension.”
Question, are you paid by your job for your research? You are the one who said it’s “for your job”, not me! Are you saying that you work for nothing?
falsy goes on to say “Wow …. Y’all are full of self delusional importance if you think there are paid operatives coming to this site to disrupt it or monitor it.”
“but then…JeffH isn’t exactly known for a high level of intellectual prowess.”
That’s not what I said in my comment and I’m far from being delusional. BUT…there are bloggers that are paid to disrupt websites and for you to say it isn’t true is, well uh, what I would expect from someone someone who has a job that includes reaserching this website and spews the constant lies and rhetoric that you do on a daily basis despite your lying and being exposed as a liar on a daily basis.
That you see me as not having a high level of intellectual prowess leaves me to wonder just what, if any, intellect you even possess at all. That you’re paid to be here does shed some important light on that thought!
http://gravatar.com/hattles JeffH
falsy, I will make a correction to my last comment.
I did say “FALSY IS A PAID SHILL FOR THE MARXIST, SOCIALIST, PROGRESSIVE COMMUNISTS!”
I find no fault in making that statement based on your history here.

JeffH – Good catch!
I don’t care how much these Obots (we know which ones they are) try to deny it, we are on to them. It is so obvious that they are here for only one purpose: to disrupt, ridicule, accuse, and spount leftist propaganda (even when it flies in the face of the obvious).
The very fact that what they say makes no sense most of the time, and that they have to resort to absolute nonsense that boggles the mind of any person capable of rational thought, kind of leaves little doubt that they are simply being paid to post such idiocy. And post it over, and over, and over… day after day after day…
Now that we’re on to them, it’s easier not to recoil in horror that some people are so twisted. We know what they are doing, and why.
So let them knock themselves out while they can. We have the truth on our side.
Old_Curmudgeon
If you call Obama’s anti-American behavior “Moderate”……..
Whatever JeffH…you can fantisize about some conspiracy or a paid disruptive force all you want if that’s what gives you a kick. Research is a part of being able to do my job, I’m on several political sites of all spectrums of the political ‘will”, and I wouldn’t break a sweat if Mr. Livingstone called Strike Three on me, unwarranted as I may think it.
This is by far one of the most extremist boards i have ever seen, and the degree of delusion and ceding control of independent thought is amazing especially when considering the number of posters and compared to other political sites.
Mr. Livingston, 45, and a few others I would call true Conservatives who would feel comortable with the conservative standards of Goldwater and Buckley. Not controlled in thought or reason, and carry an honest belief system. For the most part, however, taking into account that this is anonymous posting and folks can say what they want without fear of damaging thier reputations, there are more than a few ‘loose ends’ floating around…
TML
Flashy says, “TML … yes, by any measure Pres. Obama’s foreign policy is a success. One can always hope for more, but what has been done is all that could reasonably be expected.”
Well, I don’t consider – unjustified unilateral military action against a sovereign in Libya, military actions in Yemen, continuing the wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan despite promises to the contrary, needless sanctions on Iran while they are allowed to develop nuclear energy under the Non-proliferation treaty, and calling for the removal of a sovereign in Syria – anywhere close to a successful foreign policy, and nowhere near ‘reasonable’.
So, by my measure, his foreign policy is an absolute failure. Whether you agree with that or not is a matter of opinion, and so… it isn’t successful by ‘any measure’.
In fact, one could more reasonably say that, by any measure, his foreign policy is an utter failure… because he promised one thing during his campaign in 2008 and did the exact opposite once he was in office. His promises that got him elected, failed.
So, again, you ought to re-think that
http://gravatar.com/hattles JeffH
falsy says “whatever”(sounds like a 15 y/o) Then goes on to say he would consider Mr. Livingston and 45 as true conservatives.
Why should we take the word of that he has a clue of what is a “true conservative”. Heck, he thinks Obama’s a “moderate conservative”!
falsy, there’s a valid reason why you have no credibility and you validate that with your every comment. You may think some of us are ignorant and stupid. You just make it so obvious who really is the ignorant one here.
‘You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time but you cannot fool all the people all the time’
Hint, take a quick look in your mirror.
oh oh
The only rational way to take such an extreme position, Flashy, is to ignore the fact that your baselines for what’s conservative and liberal, right and left, free market and socialist, are extremely skewed. This is a ridiculous post without defining terms first. Liberal progressives often engage is such arguments without doing so as if they have already redefined terms and framed the issues. You’ve skipped a step here… one that, if done in good faith, would reveal the extremity of your position and it’s irrelevance as a baseline for framing issues.
http://wideyguns.com Wildey
Flashy, Obama is a chasmatic liar, devoid of conscious. He saws a drowning nation and threw it the straw it was looking for. We took a nose dive with the Bush’s and Clinton, Bush Jr. the worst. Satan would of been better than Bush, or so we thought. He can tell the people what they think they want to hear. People have been trained to react, not act with reason. Question? That’s against his principals. “When I blowa da whis, everybody offa da dock”. That’s a Bush Jr. and Obama follower. Once when Stalin was going to the opera some officers approached with 129 prisoner and asked him what to do with them. He was in a hurry and replied: Oh just kill them, I’m in a hurry. That’s a fully unleashed Bush Jr. or Obama.

falsy, “conservative moderate”? Speaking of a twisting and turning spinster, WTF is a conservative moderate? I do see that it was Paul Krugman who penned the idea of “Obama the Moderate Conservative” from an article written by Bruce Bartlett of The Fiscal Times.

I totally 100% +++ agree with you. Excellent comment about the Obummer. The liberals can not see the the TRUTH and beg for more abuse, I mentioned to one Demorat that Obama has passed the executive 0rder 13528, to take away our constituional rights with his Czars, 2 governors per district. a totall of 10 districts. This is how the Obastard will come at us, when the collaspe happens. Just one more thing, we will also pay for everything, even the White house family vacations;
Lock and load, protect everything you have, including the U.S. Contitution and mark the DEMORATS that voted for him. Watch and pray, its coming quicker than you think!!!

Pathetic, paranoid, cuckoo-clock, dementia. Obama will probably win a close re-election and the economy will continue to slowly improve. America will survive Obama and thrive for many more centuries to come. One reason it will do so is because a majority of Americans are not like Sirian but instead are reasonable human beings who make rational decisions devoid of ludicrous fears and paranoia.

“Obama bucks”. right? Because the average family on welfare has a disposable income of $34,080.00! So what incentive could any of you possibly have to work?
Proud AMERICAN, proud BIGOT, proud HOMOPHOBE and proud ISLAMOPHOBE.

The template has been set long before Obama, he is just a continuation of the plan. Every anti-liberty law, Act, E.O., and every usurpation of our constitution, has been a slow deliberate act from president to president, and from congress to congress. Of course, 911 was just the catalyst that Bush, Obama, congress, and their handlers needed to accelerate the totalitarian government State. 911 was rather convenient for TP’sTB. Americans literally cr*pped their pants in fearful frenzy, got out their dusty flags, and waved them with their eye’s in the headlights stare clamoring like a bunch ewe’s “save me.” Perfect. And here we are. Obama is nothing more than the push agent. A scape-goat to see how far TP’sTB can push your buttons. And AmeriKans actually believe that if/when Romney is elected president, that all of this is going to change. Nothing is going to change. Romney will not repeal one E.O. that affects our liberties. Romney will not repeal the PATRIOT Act., NDAA or any other anti-terrorist Act/law that has more to do with chaining Americans than catching real terrorists. Romney is not going to dismantle the Dept. of Homeland Stasi. Romney is not going to dismantle the TSA. Romney is not going to dismantle all the Fusion Centers throughout AmeriKa. Romney IS NOT going to dismantle the current POLICE STATE as we know it. It will stay in place. Romney will be just another change agent. And the totalitarian State will continue. No… if/when Romney is elected, the vast majority of RINO‘s will sigh in one big collective relief and crawl into bed with their television remote. And the police STATE will continue. Sure, he may tone it down, but NOTHING will change. Or, TP’sTB, might just decide that they have everything in place to actually pull off the final destruction of what is left of the constitutional republic.
Smoke and mirrors. Bread and circus. And AmeriKans are nothing more than the audience in the Gladiator Coliseum. A mob. Living at the whim of their thumbs.

Your neighbors might have looked for their flags. I checked my basic load. When I was young I knew I was too slow to run, so I enlisted Infantry to learn how to take as many with me as possible.
