Indiana Can Rid Senate Of Gun Grabber Lugar

Indiana 2nd Amendment supporters get a chance to end the career of one of the worst CINO (conservative in name only) Republicans in the Senate next month. Six-term incumbent Dick Lugar, 80 years old and the most senior Republican in the Senate, is facing a challenge in the May 8 primary by conservative Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock.

During his 36 years in the Senate, Lugar has repeatedly voted to confirm anti-gun judges and cabinet members — often as one of only a couple of Republicans to do so. He voted to confirm Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court.

He was one of two Republicans (the other was George Voinovich of Ohio, now retired) to vote against the National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act in 2009 and has announced his opposition to a similar bill currently awaiting Senate action.

Lugar’s other anti-gun votes include the Clinton Assault Weapons Ban (plus a subsequent vote to renew it for 10 years) and the Brady Law. Lugar also supports passage of the United Nations Small Arms Treaty, according to Gun Owners of America (GOA).

And really, all you need to know is that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, founder of the group Mayors Against Illegal Guns, held a fundraiser for Lugar at his home in December.

Hoosiers should vote for Mourdock, who has received the endorsement of both GOA and the National Rifle Association.

    Let’s get someone in office who can write a nation-wide concealed carry reciprocity bill that will pass. It must allow individual states to maintain their rights and not negatively impact our rights as individuals. Simplifying the laws and making it easier for gun owners to legally carry will help keep the good guys out of jail and the bad guys behind bars where they belong.

    mike, a good start would be: audit the congress, each member of the house and senate should be audited, the only problem is, where do you find an independent auditor or auditing firm that could be bi-pwrtisan and trusted. (not in washington, d.c).

    CINO- Senator Dick Lugar has had 36 years in the senate and is/was part of America’s political system failing we the people. America’s political system has failed the people and fundamentally changing America is not working today. We citizens, taxpayers, workers, home owners, families, retirees, military and veterans have problems; Sixteen trillion dollar debt, Millions out of work vs where’s the jobs, Lost of home value and high home foreclosures, Lack of border security vs illegal immigration, National defense vs security around the world, Slow economy vs national financial concerns, Gas prices vs inadequate national energy sources, Questionable solar, wind, battery and green energy sources vs high cost, Health care cost vs Obama care, Multiculturalism vs Endlish language, Photo identification for voting vs voter fraud just to name a few. So where’s the leadership?? Can this country no longer find real honest American can do government leadership for our Republic or is this the generation that gives 230 plus years of liberty, freedom and justice for all away??

    unfortunately we have a good deal of republicans in the congress and senate that are clones of lugar. we need a house cleaning of the repubs this november, starting with boehnor and mcconnell, until we get these politicians out nothing will change.

        wb, i didn’t mean replace them with bolsheviks. we voted in the repubs hoping they would stop barry from destroying the country. what have they done? work on some idiot budget that won’t do a thing for years, in the meantime they can continue their spending ways. we don’t need a budget we need for them to STOP SPENDING. they can pass a budget and it won’t mean anything, it hasn’t stopped them in the past. we need some big changes on the way this country is governed, congress is not doing it’s job, clean them all out including barry., harry and pelosi, boehnor and mcconnell
        we know the bolsheviks have done nothing but dig us a deeper hole, the repubs have set by and watched, trying to compromize, you don’t bargain with the devil. that’s the same tactic george bush used and it doesn’t work..

      Chuckie b; I like your response and I do agree but the problem we have is all these political guys and girls don’t come up for vote at the same time. What upsets me is how did all these radicals get in office to start with. You and I in our given states only have a limited choice. Just look around the country and see who wants all the government freebees and remember they have just about out numbered us. Hang in there and keep pluging.

    Its really quite obvious that this Con Artist is just that, so the question that this issue begs is; why is it that the people of this state take the easy way out time after time?

    Why is it that Americans have become so complacent?
    Why is it that so many Americans are totaly ignorant of whats going on in their nation?
    Why is it that so many people in the world have become so ignorant of words and thier true meaning?

    The answers are all really quite clear, {but saddly no one wants to hear them.}

    Nearly everyone has bought into the CON JOB by way of the material junk offered up by these Con Artist who wish to ensalve YOU, rather than looking at the evidence that they are being Duped in to giving their freedom away for some Public Policy that reduces them to little more than cow’s, chickens or SHEEP.

      Talk about feeling old! I was born and raised in Indianapolis, and remember when Lugar was the mayor I remember when he managed to ram Unigov down everyones throat. Only the Constitution of the state stopped him from making the sheriff’s department part of the IPD, and calling them ‘George’ sector. How many remember the late night TV show host who did a song a spoonful of Lugar making the tenements go down in a most Zebrowsky way?
