Marlins Manager Suspended Five Games After Castro Remark

Ozzie Guillen, the Miami Marlins manager who resides in a part of Miami known as Little Havana, has been suspended five games because of his remarks to Time magazine.
Guillen told Time: “I love Fidel Castro.”
This sparked an outrage in the Cuban community and even had some threatening to boycott the Marlins.
It seems the Marlins are hoping to prevent the boycott.
A statement issued by the team said: “The Marlins acknowledge the seriousness of the comments attributed to Guillen. The pain and suffering caused by Fidel Castro cannot be minimized especially in a community filled with victims of the dictatorship.”
In a press conference, Guillen called his remark the biggest mistake of his life. He said that if he doesn’t learn from his mistake people can call him dumb, but “right now … I’m not dumb.”
“I know I did the wrong thing but I don’t consider myself a dumb,” Guillen added.
Guillen, who claimed that his Spanish-speaking background is to blame for the poor word choice, hinted that this might be the end of his stint as the Marlin’s manager.
