Woman Who Collected Benefits Not Blind
LIDO DI VENEZIA, Italy, (UPI) – Police in Italy said a woman, 60, was arrested on an aggravated fraud charge for collecting $654,000 in benefits by falsely claiming to be blind for 40 years.
Investigators said the Lido di Venezia woman, whose name was not released, had received monthly disability checks over the years, ANSA reported Friday.
The woman was arrested Friday after she was filmed performing tasks without assistance.
