    Excellent stuff, as always… gives a person hope in knowing there are sane people who can see through the crap we’re drowning in, & have the guts to do something about it! We have a few real good tea party members in the House. Lots are good old boy mouthpieces who talk a good game, but betrayed America when they WERE IN CONTROL and could have stopped the illegal alien give-aways, looting of America’s manufacturing infrastructure, etc.

    We need good honest people to run against the anointed ones in both parties! Minimally get some independents stirring it up – don’t hear anything but same old SOS.

    This is for all the kids born in the 70′s and after who do not remember, and didn’t have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers and sisters had to bear.

    Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the ’100 Women of the Century.’

    BARBARA WALTERS WRITES:

    Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms.Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country, but specific men who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War.

    The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot.

    The pilot’s name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.

    In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison the ‘ Hanoi Hilton.’

    Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ’s, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American ‘Peace Activist’ the ‘lenient and humane treatment’ he’d received.

    He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward on to the camp Commandant ‘s feet, which sent that officer berserk.

    In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the Commandant’s frenzied application of a wooden baton.

    From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E’s). He spent 6 years in the ‘Hanoi Hilton’…the first three of which his family only knew he was ‘missing in action’. His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a ‘peace delegation’ visit.

    They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it, in the palm of his hand. When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man’s hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: ‘Aren’t you sorry you bombed babies?’ and ‘Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?’ Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper. >

    She took them all without missing a beat.. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper…

    Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.

    I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam , and was captured by the NorthVietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.

    I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia ; and one year in a ‘black box’ in Hanoi . My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Banme Thuot , South Vietnam , whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs)

    We were Jane Fonda’s ‘war criminals….’

    When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi , I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with her. I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received… And how different it was from the treatment purported by the NorthVietnamese, and parroted by her as ‘humane and lenient.’

    Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched with a large steel weight placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane.

    I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fondasoon after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never did answer me.

    These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of ’100 Years of Great Women.’ Lest we forget….’ 100 Years of Great Women’ should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots.

    There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane’s participation in blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can.. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget.

      Well, Sir thanks for your service and we can surly understand your animosity toward Jane Fonda. ~ She had no way of knowing your struggle and hardships in the hands of your captors, how ruthless that you and you buddies were treated and the attempt to break your spirits if it mean destroying you, solely for propaganda purposes. How hard is was to stay united, sane, loyal to your country, fellow soldiers and “alive” while dying much easier.

      They used her against you, it’s documented. I understand you anger. You deserve your anger, it’s this anger that kept you alive to tell “your” story.

      It was 25 years later before I had any remote interest in seeing any films or footage pertaining to the war. Not sure exactly why. I blocked it out. I still avoid VFW halls.

      Enemy combatants who are captured are never loved by those who jail them. Yes Americans “want to” do horrible things to those they capture also. We treated captured Germans brought to the US very well. The difference is that we TRY and be more civilized about it. Although Abu Ghraib showed us we can also look the other way at times. No matter who does it the images can sear the mind in the barbery of what is done to POW’s. Torture does nothing good for any nation and the damage is never repaired.

      I’ve sent your post to all in my address book. This so-called woman has no right walking on US soil, let alone profiting so richly from the fools who have paid to see her movies. I’ve only seen one of hers, “On Golden Pond”, but not to see her. I always greatly admired her father and Katherine Hepburn was another favorite of mine. I never understood why Henry Fonda didn’t disown that sorry excuse for a daughter. I hope Hollywood loses a bundle on the Nancy Reagan movie. Surely they could have found a real American to play the part. Of course, with few exceptions, they are not Americans. Thank you for a very touching, honest, first person witness post, JC.

      Well stated LKT , I lost my twin brother to a VC ambush . Never can I forgive Jane Fonda her actions and I even now avoid her films like the plague . Many people call her misguided along with the rest of the student protesters of the day . Perhaps they were I do not know . But I do know that the vast majority were simply avoiding the draft by being at collage . I returned from my first tour in time for the Kent State incident and was visiting my old campus (not Kent State) and listened to many of the students and their views . Among them was a guy who I will refer to as being a professional student . He was there when I went there and was still there when I came back to visit my sister who was in her final year . Had I not left school and enlisted to follow my brother I would have been as misguided as them .

      That politics kept us from winning that war is on the liberals who actually started the whole damn mess for us in the first place . Thanks to Richard Nixon we got out of a bad situation when we did . And while he may have been or had some guilt in the affair that caused him to resign , I have no doubt that it was blown up beyond all proportions by the left . People will note that as a statesman , Presidents who followed , from whichever party , sought his advice on foreign policy especially when dealing with the communists . This is something Hollywood and all their over paid and over priced stars willfully ignore . The vast majority are simply no talent pretty faces intent on keeping their names in the paper .

        Seeins the conservitive movement argubly got started with Barry Goldwater, Ronnie Raygun was and still is their poster child. I don’t think that I would call him a true conservitive, his Trickle Down Economics had some flaws and I wouldn’t define it as true conservitism. So to answer your question, no!

These are some scary times we live in, very similar to the Cold War (let’s all practice getting under our desks) except this time it is home grown.       She wanted the madness to stop as did more Americans as time went on.

      I was back at base camp when I heard of in events in Ohio and wondered if the world wasn’t going completely mad. These students could not see or understand why we mounted a drive into Cambodia. It was just widening the war to them while Nixon had promised to end it. They too were misguided and paid a dear price for it, but I don’t harbor this hatred that you display for them.

      In returning and when they spit on me and called me a baby killer, I still refused to hated them. It was crazy times. I was a soldier honoring a commitment, not a statesman, not an attorney, there was no conflict of purpose or questions of morality in my mine.

      But this war did need to stop. It needed an end. An end that would not have happened without outside pressures from students and people like Jane Fond, willing to move outside their comfort zone,willingly and forcefully protest the establishment and anything and anyone that resisted their efforts including myself.

      The politicians would not allow us to win this war, mounting pressure to find closure was the only option left to end it. Every soldier that fought knew we could have concluded this war with a military victory, in spite of Russian and Communist back door support. But it was not meant to be as the Paris Peace Accords waged on and statesmen argued over the “shape of the conference table”.

      This “ending of the war” became a plank in Nixon’s campaign platform with his promise. A promise that he kept but not without orchestrated pressure, suffering and great cost to many.

        Deer, we’ve had our well documented disputes but every now and then we see eye to eye, how can that be?!! I too had a brother who served in Vietnam, He was in the special forces in the area of Play Cu in 1970. The brother who returned wasn’t and STILL isn’t the brother who left! I found that out his first morning home when my mother told me to go wake my brother for breakfast, I ran in the bedroom and pounced on my sleeping brother and found myself pinned to the wall by the throat and about to lose some teeth!!!         Good to hear your brother made it home, while the change in each of us varies, it’s inevitable. To be turned into a killing machine with a hair trigger and then be “out of work” is a occupational hazard to overcome. The road back is longer for some then others.

        The civilian world is crazy and makes little sense~ for a long time.

I agree the times were crazy. I can see where the war needed to end. However, Hanoi Jane sold out our heroes, and caused the ones in the Hanoi Hilton to be subjected to a lot more torture. Plus, as a private American citizen, she had absolutely NO BUSINESS consorting with the enemy behind her government’s back. She is not noble. Her motives were to undermine her country. My wife Sook Young has been a nurse for years and can tell the same thing I just did. BTW, Elkhart General Hospital has cut personnel due to money shortages. Nurses were the first ones targeted to be cut. Since Sook Young has many years in nursing, she survived the cuts. They cut those with far less time in the profession, just like unions do. Right Ed?         I’m 61 years old and never had that worry. If I was indeed truly sick, I would go to the ER like most of the ones that are complaining do for a cold! I have had insurance most of my life as I WORKED for it. I have not, as you say, gone bankrupt. I now have very good insurance through my wifes job, while we pay the difference between just hers and the both of us. Now I know WORK is a four letter word to most of you libbie progs, but you really should try it, it feels good!!!

    Anyone who says nuclear disarmament isn’t a nobel goal is an enemy of civilization. The more weapons we have (or Russia) the more other nations want them to defend themselves against Russian or American aggression. Russia use to be the most aggressive nation on the planet spreading it’s military into every corner of the world. Now we have become the top dog in spending ourselves into oblivion for real estate property (military bases) around the globe. The Russian economy collasped years ago from expansionism yet when ours collasped we didn’t see the writing on the wall and expanded our military adventurism further. You won’t tame the desire of 3rd world nations wanting to have nukes to defend themselves while the super powers hang all of theirs over the heads of those countries. Nuclear disarmament should be in continuous negotiation where no nation is left out of the equation.

Why were private health care companies allowed to raise rates while paying their executives premium salaries? Why were consumers of these private policies dropped off of these companies rolls? Why were they denied coverage while extreme bonuses were paid out to the corporates who controlled the companies? Why did private stockholders come first while the patients were gouged into poverty? There is something wrong with a system where a $1,000 investment gained you $50,000 in profits while the patient went broke.I hope those investors enjoyed their wild profits because it came from the backs of injured or sick folks. Do you really think the CEO of United Healthcare deserved that $1billion 400 million severance and retirement package? We don’t have to look very far to know where the cost of medical care comes from and it mostly falls on the shoulders of those in control of these private companies. Buy our policies and we will suck you dry and if you don’t buy our policy good luck in living. Better buy a cheap funeral plan it might be a better deal.

        T i m, I certainly hope you reconsider your statement. If you believe the Supreme Court is in business to make determinations of right and wrong, then you have entered into the fantasy world of liberal thinking.

        The Supreme Court was not established to decide legal issues on the subjective basis of morality, or “right and wrong.” Their charter is simple: to render judgments based on the Constitutionality of the law or case in question.

        Activist judges who render judgments based on personal or public views of an issue, or who rely on international laws or protocols, have violated their oaths to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.

        It is the liberal justices on the SCOTUS (Kagan, Sotomayor, Bader Ginsburg and Breyer) who regularly violate their oath of office by deciding cases on the merits of their own views of how things should be, not whether the Constitution allows it.

        eddie’s post is typical of the liberal response. It is not about what’s wrong or “unfair,” it’s not about whether a CEO gets cushy bonuses or retirement packages, or the price of tea. It’s about the rule of law and the Constitution. If liberals don’t like what’s happening, work to change the laws (But make sure it conforms with the Constitution).

        After listening to these clowns, no wonder Obama sounds like a genius. But you guys (you know who you are) just keep cracking jokes and one day, God forbid, you will find yourself in a hospital bed, wondering what went so terribly wrong. And maybe, just maybe you might think that the Obummercare you made such fun of was’nt such a bad idea.

We have insurance on the whole family, except our son in the army (Sook Young, 3 kids, and I), and we can afford it. I know that Sook Young and I, counting my pension, make around $135,000 a year and insurance is no problem. If people would only shop around, they may find payments that they can make without busting their budgets.

        Jack Welch was on CNBC this morning and was talking about the upcoming election. He said, “In 2008, Obama was a great candidate and suspect President.”. Why is he a suspect President? The rule of law. Obama finds laws to be impediments. Instead of working with the law, like a bull in a china shop, he just runs through it.

        Time and time again, his administration has run roughshod over precedent and law. Believers in Obama look the other way. Liberals hated Bush and felt he tore up the Constitution. Obama is worse.

        * The Auto Bailout, bond holders and creditors were crushed as the administration skirted years of bankruptcy law
        * On voter ID, Eric Holder ruled against state law that required ID. Of course, I can’t walk into a high rise in Chicago without it.
        * In Libya, the President marshaled military force without even talking to Congress about it.
        * Obama passed Obamacare, which will hopefully be declared unconstitutional. Obamacare takes away basic human rights from individuals. Witness the sea of waivers the administration has granted to special interests in the wake of its passage.
        * On illegal aliens, Obama selectively enforces the border. He told Arizona Senator John Kyl, “that there would be no securing of the border until Congress agreed to immigration reform inclusive of amnesty for the approximate 45,000,000 illegal aliens in this country.”. That’s not rule of law, it is Chicago machine politics.
        * On birth control mandates, the government is compelling private organizations to violate their beliefs. If the government can compel a private individual to do something you support, it certainly can compel you to do something you don’t support.

        Welch was correct. What this election comes down to is the rule of law. Do you want an over reaching and totally empowered executive branch of government deciding for you? The expansion of power of the executive branch in the last ten years has been unchecked. We are swiftly drifting to a centrally planned state economy where the government controls our health care, housing, and energy.

        That has to end. Now.
