Personally, I was insulted over Biden’s remark that Republicans don’t know what it’s like to be middle class. What a Democrat mascot! I’ve never been middle class since I’ve always earned a low income, no matter how many jobs I stuffed into 24 hours but, as long as I collected paychecks, I felt secure and comfortable. In part, it was because I had self-respect for supporting myself. This dolt who has the title of Vice-President, hasn’t a clue what the middle class is about or what it’s like to not be born into the privileged status. And taxpayers shouid never pay to have religion taught in public schools.

They need to be free from those things until they are old enough to understand life and make their own decisions. I do not care what your beliefs are or what religion you are or what party you belong to. Those are your rights as an American. I totally believe we should respect our country and its Constitution. If someone is born and gentically predisposed to being a homosexual – that’s their issue or choice. Sorry if I gave the wrong inpression.

I love this country and what it stands for. We may not always be perfect, but I feel we have tried to do the best we can. But I think we have slipped off the path this go-around with our current administration.

Some fears are perfectly rational. Others, such as the one you just shared, fear of religion/faith, are strictly irrational.

Irrational fear arises out of;

1) Deep-seated knowledge that the other side is right, the ego perceives a threat to a well-entrenched belief.

2) A projection of one’s more unpleasant qualities onto the “Other” (theJungian Shadow).

3) Just plain, old-fashioned ignorance.

Just so ya know, it was the Lake County Democratic Club Headquarters in Taveras, Florida that was flying the flag and initially resisted taking it down…the flag is in violation of the Federal Flag Code, which states “The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure design, picture, or drawing of any nature.” .

Obama doesn’t control the price at the pump anymore than Bush ,Nixon,Carter or any other President. The price is set by the world markets and Wall Street Speculators. Sometimes 64% of the price of gas come from those Speculators who’s only goal is to make millions not whether you have to pay $5.00 a gallon. If you want lower prices change the way Wall Street/OPEC and other entities do business. Until then we are all in the same boat.

My biggest fear right now is justices considering retirement. If three of them go during the Obama administration, it will totally change the sentiment of the court. You KNOW he will install those who are less inclined to follow the constitution and more likely to rule from the bench in ways that would make any dem/lib/commie drool in their latte. It’s not just the flag code that has ben dishonored. Treasury and US Postal policy traditionally has banned the placement of images of living people on US coins and stamps (although I understand that’s going to change). The reason was obvious: you find that sort of thing today under monarchies and dictatorships.

The Founders understood that our homage should be devoted to the principles of our Constitutional Republic and the sovereignty of the people, NOT to any ruler. Putting Obama’s image on a flag violates those principles. Worse, it elevates Obama to the status of a cult idol.

Reminds me of the Che Guevara images found everywhere.

Don Van Beck, executive director of the Veterans Memorial at Fountain Park asked that the altered flag be removed, explaining that it was in violation of federal flag code. He offered a POW/MIA flag to fly in its place.

Nancy Hurlburt, the Democratic Party Chair for Lake County, said she would research the issue but didn’t take the Obama flag down immediately, prompting Van Beck to declare that they would take the flag down for her.

“No, you will not. This is private property,” Hurlbert responded.

After a short time spent ‘researching’, Hurlbert relented and took down the flag while the veterans looked on. She did not accept the POW/MIA flag offered as a replacement.

It may well be disgraceful but it is not illegal. It would only be illegal if it had occurred within the District of Columbia. However, the flag code (http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagcode.htm) specifically states that the only place this section of the code applies is within the District of Columbia. Additionally, it further states that the images cannot be placed on an American Flag. Since there are no stars on this flag, it was not an American Flag being altered – so it was no an American Flag being defaced.

I remember a time when Pres. Washingtion’s face was put on a flag and no one complained then so why the complaining now. Bigotry and hatred of Africans in america has a deep root and speaks loud when a man with one drop of African blood has been elevated to the highest office in the nation which was built on the backs of enslaved Africans. In this nation people have a right to their opinions but when they express them in a manner which degrades and humiliates another human being they have become what this nation claims to be fighting against throughout the world. Everyone should look at the man in the mirror and ask, “what have I done to contribute to the hypocrisy of this nation, i.e. United States of America, and the hatred of those who are different than myself? What can I do to make the vicious cycle of hatred and bigotry be broken once and for all? How can I learn to have and express my difference of opinion in a civil moral productive manner?” If everyone would get busy working on self then the changes you make for the better will have an impact on making the nation better.
