No Jobs For Americans

March 13, 2012 by

No Jobs For Americans

On March 9, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) announced that 227,000 new nonfarm payroll jobs were created by the economy during February. Is the government’s claim true?

No. Statistician John Williams reports that 44,000 of these jobs, or 19 percent, consist of an add-on factor derived from the BLS’s estimate that 44,000 more unreported jobs from new business start-ups were created than were lost by unreported business failures. The BLS’s estimate comes from the bureau’s “birth-death model,” which works better during normal times but delivers erroneous results during troubled times such as the economy has been experiencing during the past four years.

Taking out the 44,000 added-on jobs reduces the February jobs number to 183,000 but does not provide a full correction. In an economy as troubled as the U.S. economy is, most likely the deaths exceeded the births, but we don’t know what the number is. Was it 20,000? 50,000? What number do we deduct from the 183,000? We simply do not know.

Williams reports that seasonal adjustment factors do not work properly during troubled economic times and add their own overstatement to the jobs figure. If anyone could estimate the overestimate of new jobs that results from malfunctioning seasonal adjustments, it is Williams; but he doesn’t provide an estimate.

Most likely, the new jobs did not exceed 150,000, a figure that would merely keep even with population growth and thus not reduce the rate of unemployment, which, consistent with this deduction, remained constant.

Let’s look now at the kind of jobs that were created. Of the new jobs reported by BLS,
92 percent are in services. Of this 92 percent, only 7 percent could possibly relate to exportable services: architectural, engineering and computer systems services.

Of the reported new service jobs, 29 percent are in health care and social services. The categories that account for the health services jobs are ambulatory healthcare services and hospitals. Waitresses and bartenders account for 20 percent of the reported new jobs.

Employment services account for 29 percent of the new reported jobs. Transportation and warehousing accounted for 5 percent of the reported new jobs, despite a loss of 60,000 jobs in general merchandise and department stores.

In other words, the vast majority of the new jobs are low-paying jobs, except for a few truck driving jobs.

Other conclusions that we can draw are:

The United States has nothing to export to reduce its massive trade deficit, which has, sooner or later, disastrous implications for the U.S. dollar.

Middle-class-income jobs are declining, with polarization at the two extremes.

U.S. economic policy continues to focus on the mega-rich at the expense of 99 percent of the population. U.S. interest rates are kept at or near zero in order to maximize mega-bank earnings while depriving tens of millions of retired Americans of interest income on their lifetime savings, forcing them to spend their capital in order to live, thus depriving their heavily indebted children of inheritance.

In short, the United States is well on its way to becoming a Third World country. Twenty years ago at a Brookings Institution conference in Washington, D.C., I predicted that would be the case early in the 21st century. America is no longer the land of the free and independent. It is the land of the 1 percent mega-rich.

Job numbers may go up and down, the question may be asked how could the west return to the era of high employment and rising income, that era was during the period when the west made everything for the consuming countries of the world, there was no competition from China and India, now all of that has changed the new trade policy adopted by the west elevates profit when you do not hire western workers but instead low paid workers around the world. Yes there will be some jobs created the majority are in the domestic service sector. At 16.2 Trillion in government debt, nothing is solvent anymore! As we all witnessed during Obamanation’s speech to the nation during the last debt increase stalemate, SS is paid by the government by monthly tax receipts and deficit spending. If one or the other falters, as in this last debt limit spending malaise, SS checks will not go out, the POTUS threatened us all with this in order to blackmail congress into uping the debt limit, thus adding more deficit spending! In doing so however, the cats out of the bag, no IOU’s, no Treasuries, no lock box, no nothing. SS will be the first items the Government defaults on, watch!

    • George E

      Jim,

A day of reckoning is coming alright. And, it’s true that the government will default on its promises to the American people (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) before it defaults on its obligations to its bond holders. That’s just a matter of fact, not a personal wish or priority of mine. That’s the way business works. The only hope we have is that when the politicians take away our Social Security checks, their party is over. This action will cause a public uprising like nothing seen in a very long time, and the politicians know it. So, they will delay any action along these lines as long as they can. Unfortunately however, they will probably delay reforming these programs (by slowing their growth by putting limits on what we can get from them) until it’s too late to recover.

The debt is huge, but can still be managed if we and our politicians get real and take the necessary steps soon. Otherwise, it’s all over. At which time, everything is likely to change; ie, much less government spending of all kinds including downsizing all government programs, fewer entitlements for the population, and probably higher taxes on everyone, including the 50% who don’t pay income taxes today. The one “ace in the hole” we have which could, and probably will help pull us through this pending disaster are the natural resources we have on and under our federal lands. These could be opened up for commercial development and the proceeds could be used to help pay down our national debt. As you might imagine, this will require major reconstruction and rethinking of our environmental laws and regulations, but when our backs are against the wall, we’ll do it because we won’t have any other good choices.

We the American people are to blame for most of the problems. If you want to know how gullible we are, answer this question. “Does negative advertising work?” So our campaigns are a type of yo you effect. The liberals in power for a while, and then conservatives in power for a while. All this produces is knee-jerk reactions to problems, rather than solution.

Then you add the problems of democrats seemingly wanting to make more and more people dependant on the government, the uptick in rudeness and harsh political discourse, rather than debating ideas, the attacks on the American family, attacks on social values. And public service should not be a job- It should be a conviction and a calling. Do you not see that there is only one way to do from here. DOWN.

It is time that we demand civility and duty to country in our politicians. If they won’t give it to us, then get them out of public office.

Jobs will never return to the United States, the US is slated for destruction by the Elite.

We in the US are to become a post industrial society and our population is to be reduced by 90 percent according to the NWO and America turned into a giant natural wildlife refuge.

Our government is paying companies to goto China and India and other 3rd world countries, Why?

Obama is a puppet for the elites, congress is bought, senate mostly paid for and we Americans are asleep.

The solution is clean house, confirm our constitution, take out the FED, reject the NWO

And how about the latest little jab from the Congress. Apparently yesterday, in a nearly secret vote, with very little, if any debate about the subject, they passed, with full support from both sides of the aisle, a bill which will limit protestors and protest speech to whatever area(s) the secret service detail on duty decides. Anyone caught defying the order, saying anything that could be construed as protest speech, outside of the boundrys set by the Secret Service detail will be arrested and charged with a class 1 FELONY! A FELONY!!! That’s more than a year in jail, if convicted, for protesting any of Obama’s policies, a blatant slap in the face of the 1st Amendment of the Constitution, that says, “Congress shall make NO law restricting free speech” If this ain’t restricting free speech I don’t know what is.
See, these little laws, getting passed without any hoopla, very few people knowing about it, and then it gets on the books and someone is arrested for it who had no idea that our Congress could do this. He’s chipping away at our Constitution little by little. At this rate, by the time the general election is held, we’ll be lucky to have the right to vote any more. WE REALLY NEED TO GET THIS GUY OUT OF THIS OFFICE .

You are correct, I remember in the interview a few months ago, on 60 Minutes I think, The interviewer asked Obama a question of why he has not made some hard driven changes he wanted and Obama came back and said “you know there is this small piece of paper called the Constitution that slows change down” something to this effect. He will do everything he can to shovel this crap down our throats behinde closed doors in secret if needed while he has the power to do so. We need to get him out of there quick. If I had left and went overseas to work say five years ago and now came home, I do not think I would beleive my own eyes. I had not been over to Floriday in several yaers and when my wife and i went over there for a job interview I could not leave a bustling city like Dallas to go over to such a depreesed state as N central FL. Oclala is a ghost town compared to the early 2000′s, it was a very sad and sickening site. All the beautiful hand manecured horse ranches were now ten foot weed lots with these once very nice homes crumbling by the minute from neglect. Whicvh seems to be a real issue around our country, NEGLECT.

And, what does that have to do with Obama? it was supported by ALL of the parties to protect them self and the presidents no mater what political party… I can already see, if a conservative wins the WH the same people on here protesting the law will gladly support it to suppress dissident voices on the left.

It may be time to get your eyes checked…..it is obvious that you do not know or understand most of the posters on this site…this is not “Party” politics for most of us….it is about the rule of law, the Constitution….and moral character…which from what I’ve seen…only Ron Paul…has any moral character…and actually abides by the rule of law and the Constitution. It’s about Freedom,Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness…without government intrusion.

Want to make jobs come back to America? Here is the answer.

EXAMPLE: Widget made in America costs $5.00. Total cost to produce: $4.00

Same Widget made in China costs $5.00. Total cost to produce $1.50. Raw materials for both widgets cost the same.

Profit on American widget, $1.00. Profit on widget made in china, $3.50.

OK Congress, this next part is in your lap. The TAX on the widget made in China should be $2.50. Now we have competition of EQUALS. Both widgets cost their makers $4.00.

Jobs will probably come home. The U.S. will make money instead of China and the American companies who are circumventing all of the American laws and regulations. The American companies affected will undoubtedly lobby for relief from restrictive laws and regulations. Right now they LIKE the laws and regulations. High profits, no EPA, no labor laws etc.

This is the simplified version of what needs to happen. Will this happen? Never with this communist government and their sympathizer lapdogs. The present method is furthering the wishes of the NWO. Forget the World Trade Organization.

    • Ted Crawford

simplified, as you say, but completely accurate!

    • J-M

mrbob, I thought that too, EXCEPT that it just gives more money to the government to spend wildly! Tax, tax tax, and yet there is never enough money for all their projects. Things like genital washing for African men, Japanese Quail sex habits while on cocaine, etc. They spend 40% more than they take in so if we give them yet more tax dollars, the government will turn it into more deficit.

      • Average Joe

        J-M ,

“EXCEPT that it just gives more money to the government to spend wildly! ”

Until the government runs out of “other people’s money”, they will never stop spending wildly…But, if someone is going to have pay taxes to them….I would much rather it be the Chinese (and other foreign nations)….than us……just sayin’

      • Deerinwater

        “Quail sex”? your rascal !

    • David169

      Not entirely mrbob17388:
I’m in the plastics business, He is my problem:
1 unit, test marketing indicates retail sales maximum price $40. maximum; wholesale to retailer $30; distributor to wholesaler $23.(seasonal goods)
Cost of materials in US $23. Cost of labor, machinery and factory space $10. Sales force and other costs of distribution $7. = no profit on every item sold at retail price direct to consumers if sold to distributors loss is $17.
Buy product from a Chinese manufacturer. Pay Chinese manufacturer, pay shipping, duties, inland marine shipping, drayage, warehousing, sales force and insurance. Total cost $13.
Conclusion, I cannot buy the materials for the price a Chinese manufacturer delivers the finished product to my door; blister packed, in display cases and in a master case. I have tried every way possible to manufacture in the US and for my product line it is impossible. I dislike manufacturing in China and at this time I am considering closing my door.

      • http://gravatar.com/katrael59ganaiden katrael59ganaiden

It’ll be a shame if you have to close your doors. The cost of doing business here is frightening and many people won’t start businesses because of the horrific start up costs coupled with the statistic that 95% will go out of business in the first five years and who want’s to put up with that? The cost of meeting gov standards are to a large degree the cause of all of this. I know because I’ve been through this start up stuff and it’s no fun.

      • http://gravatar.com/katrael59ganaiden katrael59ganaiden

Also, starting a business during and expanding economy is one thing but doing it while things are as bad as they are is another. My hat is off to people who are successful today at starting and staying in business.

  • JB

It is amazing that there is a formula for the jobs market instead of actual counting of actual jobs. Birth/Death model? Really?

  • Jan Burket

Why argue about the exact number of unemployed ? The real problem is the labor force itself. First of all there are the vast numbers of those who simply do not want to work since their govt. hand-outs and welfare programs are sufficient enough to buy them booze and cigarettes but not enough to feed their families, and they don’t care because they have low enough incomes to demand more welfare. Put them to work or withdraw or drastically reduce their food stamps etc etc.

Then there are the illegals here who work without paying taxes and are aided and abetted by the companies who hire them illegally and pay them under-the-table. Let’s get rid of both. Stop the flow at our borders and start fining and jailing the US company offenders for hiring undocumented workers who are taking jobs that Americans can’t get. And quit saying that all the unemployed won’t do those sometimes low paying jobs. BS, these unemployed are the ones not counted in the numbers because they are disgusted with the hiring priorities here now and have given up.

  • Chester

Don”t particularly care what the numbers say, as I can physically SEE the improvements in employment. When more factories in my area have more people working more hours, something is getting better. Also, there are more loaded trucks on the highways than even a year ago, so something is being made, and sold, somewhere. Instead of listening to all the doomsayers, get out and actually LOOK at what is going on. Depending on your bent, you may be either pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised at what you see.

    • Ted Crawford

I don’t know where you live, but where I live three local business concerns, one a long time, well established one, closed their doors! About 15 to 20% of the others have announced reduced hours over the last couple of months!

    • John Millican

As to the trucks and what they haul; it’s from China, Japan, Vietnam,…etc. I drive a truck and have seen the drastic fall in the number of U.S. factories. Most of the places we get loads from are warehouses that store the IMPORTED goods until the retailers are ready for delivery. Many factories in the area where I live have/are shutting down or severly reducing employee payroll. What I’m SEEING opening are PAWN SHOPS, thrift stores, garbage recyclers, and paramilitary supply stores. These are actually signs of a nation in economic crisis. I am also seeing MILITARY armament being moved around a lot; and not to where one would think it should be going to be shipped to the troops overseas. Factories for MILITARY hardware are working at full capacity. Another sign of a nation in crisis. Either “jobs through war” or to put down a rebeling populace does not lend itself to a “growing eonomy” or to the “most technologically advanced” nation in the world not beginning to fall apart. It all goes back to the Congress and President not following the CONSTITUTION. (And NOT just those in power today; but this has been going on for decades.)

“In short, the United States is well on its way to becoming a Third World country. That’s because the ruling elite (aka: democrats) have demolished the free market system in this country. It began in FDR’s regime and continues today. Now, even the republicans don’t get it. So, yes we are doomed to become just like the sewer countries we used to sell our stuff to. What a sorry condition…but it doesn’t have to be this way. This November, bring back a true conservative and vote out the sewer rats in congress and the senate. Do you job patriots: VOTE and know your candidate; do the necessary homework to know what they believe and stand for. Give up a day of sports and beer and be a civic minded citizen and let’s take back our Republic!

    • Ted Crawford

Actually, Dntmkmecmoverther, I believe that it began with Woodrow Wilson. Primarily with the passage, in close proximity, Feburary 3, and April 8, 2013, of the sixteenth and seventeenth amendments!
The sixteenth gave them a large pool of money to misappropiate and the seventeenth insured the best Politicians that money could buy. FDR just injected it with Steroids!

      • Average Joe

Actually, Ted Crawford, I believe it all started when Lincoln overstepped his Constitutional authority and declared martial law and war against citizens of the several states…declaring that anyone that did not support him and” his” cause (which wasn’t slavery) to be an enemy of the nation and subject to summary execution ,kinda sounds like the NDAA,huh?…(Those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it). Everything other piece of legislative treachery……. has just been add ons since Lincoln.

Many here have read this..and some have not: From teamlaw.org
(a wealth of information can be found on this site)

        Historical Outline

1st: Martial Law is declared by President Lincoln on April 24th, 1863, with General Orders No. 100; under martial law authority, Congress and President Lincoln institute continuous martial law by ordering the states (people) either conscribe troops and or provide money in support of the North or be recognized as enemies of the nation; this martial law Act of Congress is still in effect today. This martial law authority gives the President (with or without Congress) the dictatorial authority to do anything that can be done by government in accord with the Constitution of the United States of America. This conscription act remains in effect to this very day and is the foundation of Presidential Executive Orders authority; it was magnified in 1917 with The Trading with the Enemy Act (Public Law 65-91, 65th Congress, Session I, Chapters 105, 106, October 6, 1917). and again in 1933 with the Emergency War Powers Act, which is ratified and enhanced almost every year to this date by Congress. Today these Acts address the people of the United States themselves as their enemy.

2nd: The District of Columbia Organic Act of 1871 created a “municipal corporation” to govern the District of Columbia. Considering the fact that the municipal government itself was incorporated in 1808, an “Organic Act” (first Act) using the term “municipal corporation” in 1871 can only mean a private corporation owned by the municipality. Hereinafter we will call that private corporation, “Corp. U.S.” By consistent usage, Corp. U.S. trademarked the name, “United States Government” referring to themselves. The District of Columbia Organic Act of 1871 places Congress in control (like a corporate board) and gives the purpose of the act to form a governing body over the municipality; this allowed Congress to direct the business needs of the government under the existent martial law and provided them with corporate abilities they would not otherwise have. This was done under the constitutional authority for Congress to pass any law within the ten mile square of the District of Columbia. Follow this link to see the effect of the District of Columbia Act of 1871.

3rd: In said Act, Corp. U.S. adopted their own constitution (United States Constitution), which was identical to the national Constitution (Constitution of the United States of America) except that it was missing the national constitution’s 13th Amendment and the national constitution’s 14th, 15th and 16th amendments are respectively numbered 13th, 14th and 15th amendments in the Corp. U.S. Constitution. At this point take special notice and remember this Corp. U.S. method of adopting their own Constitution, they will add to it in the same manner in 1913.

4th: Corp. U.S. began to generate debts via bonds etc., which came due in 1912, but they could not pay their debts so the 7 families that bought up the bonds demanded payment and Corp. U.S. could not pay. Said families settled the debt for the payments of all of Corp. U.S.’ assets and for all of the assets of the Treasury of the United States of America.

5th: As 1913 began, Corp. U.S. had no funds to carry out the necessary business needs of the government so they went to said families and asked if they could borrow some money. The families said no (Corp. U.S. had already demonstrated that they would not repay their debts in full). The families had foreseen this situation and had the year before finalized the creation of a private corporation of the name “Federal Reserve Bank”. Corp. U.S. formed a relationship with the Federal Reserve Bank whereby they could transact their business via note rather than with money. Notice that this relationship was one made between two private corporations and did not involve government; that is where most people error in understanding the Federal Reserve Bank system—again it has no government relation at all. The private contracts that set the whole system up even recognize that if anything therein proposed is found illegal or impossible to perform it is excluded from the agreements and the remaining elements remain in full force and effect.

6th: Almost simultaneously with the last fact (also in 1913), Corp. U.S. adopts (as if ratified) their own 16th amendment. Tax protesters challenge the IRS tax collection system based on this fact, however when we remember that Corp. U.S. originally created their constitution by simply drafting it and adopting it; there is no difference between that adoption and this—such is the nature of corporate enactments—when the corporate board (Congress) tells the secretary to enter the amendment as ratified (even thought the States had not ratified it) the Se3cretary was instructed that the Representatives word alone was sufficient for ratification. You must also note, this amendment has nothing to do with our nation, with our people or with our national Constitution, which already had its own 16th amendment. The Supreme Court (in BRUSHABER v. UNION PACIFIC R. CO., 240 U.S. 1 (1916)) ruled the 16th amendment did nothing that was not already done other than to make plain and clear the right of the United States (Corp. U.S.) to tax corporations and government employees. We agree, considering that they were created under the authority of Corp. U.S.

7th: Next (also 1913) Corp. U.S., through Congress, adopts (as if ratified) its 17th amendment. This amendment is not only not ratified, it is not constitutional; the nation’s Constitution forbids Congress from even discussing the matter of where Senators are elected, which is the subject matter of this amendment; therefore they cannot pass such and Act and then of their own volition, order it entered as ratified. According to the United States Supreme Court, for Congress to propose such an amendment they would first have to pass an amendment that gave them the authority to discuss the matter.

8th: Accordingly, in 1914, the Freshman class and all Senators that successfully ran for reelection in 1913 by popular vote were seated in Corp. U.S. Senate capacity only; their respective seats from their States remained vacant because neither the State Senates nor the State Governors appointed new Senators to replace them as is still required by the national Constitution for placement of a national Senator.

9th: In 1916, President Wilson is reelected by the Electoral College but their election is required to be confirmed by the constitutionally set Senate; where the new Corp. U.S. only Senators were allowed to participate in the Electoral College vote confirmation the only authority that could possibly have been used for electoral confirmation was corporate only. Therefore, President Wilson was not confirmed into office for his second term as President of the United States of America and was only seated in the Corp. U.S. Presidential capacity. Therefore the original jurisdiction government’s seats were vacated because the people didn’t seat any original jurisdiction government officers. It is important to note here that President Wilson retained his capacity as Commander in Chief of the military. Many people wonder about this fact imagining that such a capacity is bound to the President of the nation; however, When John Adams was President he assigned George Washington to the capacity of Commander in Chief of the military in preparation for an impending war with France. During this period, Mr. Adams became quite concerned because Mr. Washington became quite ill and passed on his acting military authority through his lead General Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Adams was concerned that if war did break out Mr. Hamilton would use that authority to create a military dictatorship of the nation. Mr. Adams averted the war through diplomacy and the title of Commander in Chief was returned to him.
(See: John Adams, by David McCullough, this book covers Mr. Adams concerns over this matter quite well. Mr. Adams was a fascinating man.)

10th: In 1917, Corp. U.S. enters W.W. I and passes their Trading with the Enemies Act.

11th: In 1933, Corp. U.S. is bankrupt, they force a banking holiday to exchange money backed Federal Reserve Notes with “legal tender” Federal Reserve Notes the Trading with the Enemies Act is adjusted to recognize the people of the United States as enemies of Corp. U.S.

12th: Some time after 1935, you ask Social Security Administration for a relationship with their program. With the express purpose of generating Beneficiary funds to United States General Trust Fund (GTF) the Social Security Administration creates an entity with a name (that sounds like your name but is spelled with all capital letters) and an account number (Social Security number). They give you the Social Security card and let you know that the card does not belong to you but you are to hold it for them until they want it back. If you are willing to accept that responsibility over the card you activate the card by signing it, which gives you the ability to act as the fiduciary for the cards actual owner Corp. U.S. and you can use the card’s name and number to thus transact business relations for the card’s actual owner. You are also to note that though the card verifies its agency (you as the single person with authority to control the entity so created) it is not for use as identification. On review: notice the Social Security Administration was the creator of the entity, they offered you the opportunity to serve its Trustee capacity (by lending it actual consciousness and physical capacity), they gave you something (the card) that does not belong to you to hold in trust and they reserved the actual owner of the thing (Corp. U.S.) as the beneficiary of the entity—by definition, this only describes the creation and existence of a Trust. More importantly: the name they gave this Trust is not your name, the number they gave the Trust is not your number and your lending actual consciousness and physical capacity to this Trust’s Trustee capacity does not limit you or your capacity to separately act in your natural sovereign capacity in any way—what you do, when you do it and how you do it is still totally up to you.

13th: In 1944, under the Bretton Woods Agreement, Corp. U.S. is quit claimed to the International Monetary Fund, and becomes a foreign controlled private corporation.

14th: In 1962, considering the states were forced to carry out their business dealings in terms of Federal Reserve Notes (foreign notes), which is forbidden in the national and State constitutions, out of the necessity the states began protecting themselves from the people by forming corporations like Corp. U.S. Accordingly, those newly formed corporate state administrations began adopting Corp. U.S. suggested uniform codes and licensing structures that allowed better and more powerful control over the people, which thing the original jurisdiction governments of this nation had no capacity to do. Our Constitutions secure that the governments do not govern the people rather they govern themselves in accord with the limits of Law. The people govern themselves. Such is the foundational nature of our Constitutional Republic.

15th: By 1971, every State government in the union of States had formed such private corporations (Corp. State), in accord with the IMF admonition, and the people ceased to seat original jurisdiction government officials in their State government seats.

Now, having stated these historical facts, we ask you not to believe us, but rather prove these facts for yourself. We then ask you to contact us and share your discovery with us.

When you find there is no error in this historical outline, then remember these simple facts and let no one dissuade you from the truth.

The Bottom Line: when you speak about these private foreign corporations remember that is what they are and stop calling them government.

Further, it is very important that we cease to attempt to fix them. It is far more important that we learn how to reseat our original jurisdiction government and spread the word about the truth. By reseating our State and national governments in their original jurisdiction nature, we gain the capacity to hold these private foreign corporations accountable. They owe us a lot of money, in fact they owe us more money than there is available in the world. In fact it is impossible for them to pay and that gives us the leverage we need to take back our nation and put things right. The process is a simple one. The difficulty is in getting our people to wake up to the truth. That’s why we ask you to prove the truth for yourself and contact us with your discovery.

That means that you must stop acting and communicating like you are anything other than the sovereign that God created you to be. And, stop referring to Corp. U.S. or the STATE OF ‘X’ as anything other than the private foreign corporations that they are. And, finally, stop listening to the Bigfoot Patriot Mythology that is espoused by those that only give these facts lip service.

It’s time to wake up and follow the truth, time to repent and become a moral and honorable society instead of lauding our Piety while we stand guilty of:
        a) not knowing the truth;
        b) not living the truth;
        c) believing God will save us even though we have the tools to know the truth the ability to use the tools but we refuse to live by the truth and use the tools we have to save ourselves and thereby become free.

The biggest problem with that get all excited about uniting against the tyranny of Corp. U.S. is that they are blind to the truth having no remedy so they bail out of “the system” hell bent for a rebellion even the scripture says cannot be won with conventional weapons of war. Would that we could instead follow the admonition of the King of Kings and unite with truth to legally, lawfully and peacefully reseat our original jurisdiction government thereby taking back the control our nation in accord with law.

One could argue that it started from the very beginning of the republic. In 1794 Washington sent troops to Western Pennsylvania to put down the Whiskey Rebellion so that the federal government could collect a tax on distillers. This sort of central government tyranny of the population has continued to grow and expand with nearly every administration aided by critical events such as wars and depressions and desired events such as interstate commerce and transportation. It began with the Federalists pushing for a strong central government, and has ended with the socialist central government we have today.

Average Joe, I finally read your comment and the reason I didn’t before was due to it’s length and my lack of time. I found your comment to be quite compelling. I learned about the federal reserve many years ago and had heard rumors of a “second government” but those were only rumors. I had heard that we were still functioning under martial law but had no proof. I’ve already begun to study constitutional law but without the knowledge of this corporate USA it would be impossible to apply what I’ve learned. I went to teamlaw.org and have begun to study their information. They mentioned “quo warranto” and I looked it up in my law dictionary and it almost floored me. I suspect that I’m just beginning to see the tip of the iceberg.

I can’t help but wonder how many of the “jobs” are government related … which equates to a negative three jobs for each new government employee.

    • John

nearly 80% of the jobs in this country are government related. With that I mean is that 80% of all jobs in this country will be negative affected should government jobs go away.

  • http://www.cindynel.co.za peter

Statisticians, very much like most economists, are simply guessing and often their guesses are based on poor evidence. It would appear that the USA will need to concentrate on food production heavily as shortages are to become very problematic during this year. Of course the war machine must be kept going and massive production of armaments will be required, which naturally will further enrich the elites, impoverish and destroy the poor and in the old end one needs to ask whether our madness will ever end or have we become so besotted with wealth that we have actually lost our souls? That dear friends is where mankind has gone wrong, repeatedly over the decades, without ever being able to learn from past mistakes or ever consider the consequences of their inadequate decision makers. Do any of them actually realize how they have screwed up? Of course they do, but do they care? Obviously not. This is not a situation unique to the USA at all. The same occurs throughout the world to a greater or lesser degree and the people of this world will pay a very high price for their sheer disregard of it’s treasures ( not gold or money ). This is not doomsday talk, just a few words to tell it the way it is. Nothing is limitless and the very educated and clever are now so smart that they have outsmarted themselves. Remember without their gold and money they are useless and inacapable of survival, but there are many who can and surely will survive and hopefully make a new start with decent objectives in mind other than destruction, hatred and worthless accumulation.

    • John

Food production in this country depends heavily on the availability of lots and cheap oil. The food production in this country is extremely subsidized and I expect prices to rise a lot once the subsidies go away and the oil prices rise. I foresee a rise in food prices by 40-50% in the next 2-3 years. It is estimated that at this point in time we import about 60% of our food. if this trend and the rising cost continues (and I am sure it will) we will not be able to feed our population. I.m.H.O. everyone should learn how to grow food to supplement the foot they buy in the store. Even apartment dwellers can raise simple foods in large pots. If you wait until the crap hits the fan in a few years you have waited too long. America has large farms and exports subsidized food into other countries, but that production is only possible because of fertilizers and pesticides made from oil. The soil is starved and near sterile and not able to produce anything without fertilizer… if Oil becomes even more expensive and government subsidies go away, a lot of US farming will collapse.

      • David

You no what John lets stop subsidizing the AMERICAN farmers and let them farm. This country farmed before…..JOBS.Stop PLEASE STOP subsidizing HUGE OIL companies, also whatever we drill here in USA stays in USA for the USA economy FIRST, whats left if any, put on the world market. GAS PRICES GO WAY DOWN, and S***W the speculators.

Granted the job market sucks but I guess it what market you are qualified to pursue. Being in the medical field for over 40 years was a good choice for me. There are tons of jobs vacant out there but there just aren’t enough qualified workers. Yes time are tough and they are gonna get tougher so get what ever training or education you need to market yourself. I get tired of the old song and dance I can’t get a job so you have to give me money.

    • momplayer

You are right about the give me money, but the biggest problem I see is the rock and a hard place. You can’t find a job (most here in Las Vegas require bilingual) so you can’t feed and house your kids that you were surpporting just fine when you were working. So what are your options? You don’t have the money to move somewhere else(where would you go),you used up your savings (trying to survive),lost your house (since the bank wouldn’t even attempt to work with you),so now your homeless (employers don’t want to hire homeless people) I don’t know what the answer is,but I do have empathy for the people living on the streets trying to take care of their kids through no fault of their own.All i can say is God help my children and grandchildren!

      • Dan in NH

One of the answers is declare English the National Language. We have never bent over backwards for any other groups before. Immigrants we expected to learn English. Now we aren’t forcing the Hispanics to learn English we are pandering to them to get their vote. If a person can’t speak English how can they gather the information necessary to make a choice. My wife is Korean and if she wanted to work she had to learn English. My brother’s wife is from Portugal she had to learn English if she wanted to work in this country. My daughter-in-law is from Finland and she had to learn English to go to school here they didn’t have Finnish teachers here. I say that it’s reverse discrimination that only Hispanics are accommodated. I say if they can’t do the same for all groups they can’t do it for Hispanics.

      • John

Dan, just because you would declare English as the official language would NOT make the need for being bilingual go away in regions where there are people of different ethnic backgrounds. I remember my sister getting her first job only because she knew German. She is still at it 45 years later…

      • Nadzieja Batki

If your sister is being used as a German translator in the same area, it is due to plain old Laziness on the part of the population who will not learn English

How you are taking 17 and turning it into 25 I’m not certain. That it was 10 in late 2008, you seem willing to ignore.

I don’t believe you’ve got a handle on your facts my friend.

I remember back during the 80′s and Reagan administration how the economic numbers were always so rosy on the “News” as many of us struggled to fall back positions. Down sizing and base closing, short falls in local tax coffers lead to tax increases, new user fees, the cost of local government rose drastically as Reagan ” got the Federal government off the peoples backs”

The IRS was running in packs ~ and applying thumb screws to the middle class.

An old couple down in Houston committed murder / suicide from the pressure applied by the IRS for back taxes. Mom & Pop gas stations having to close down, unable to comply with new regulations.

And the NEWS, of the day ~ Quite Rosy! Wall Street was doing well. While everyone I knew personally and everywhere I looked, everyone was taking a heard hit , EXCEPT! , my friends that worked at Lockheed and Bell Helicopter. They were raking it in and living large.

So, I’m not sure of your history or position in life.

But I can assure you of one thing, they didn’t pull those numbers out of thin air, they came from somewhere, that you or I can’t see it, just means our view is obscured.

I don’t expect any improvement to reach me for another year.

I know that I’ve no hope at all, at changing the way your elect to think about the current President.

If I’d known this willingness to go to such extremes to degrade a sitting President, ~ I would have gave “W” pure hell, 7 of his 8 years. I’ve just been slow in realizing just how low, mean and nasty some people are willing to be to make their displeasure known.

But I know now, ~ you have shown me just how obstinate you can be.

What has Obama done differently than Bush did (and much more of it)?
By the way the National Debt is currently $15.5 Trillion (not 17), but the more telling figure is the unfunded Liabilities that are coming our way — $118 Trillion. How do you suppose we’re going to meet those Liabilities when our GDP is only $15 Trillion a year, and we can’t even live within our means Now?

While the sheeple have been sleeping the Leaders and their Crony Capitalists have taken us to the shearing sheds.

      • http://www.ifonlyphotos.com Alex Frazier

        @ Deerinwater:

The national debt was $5,727,776,738,304.64 as of Inauguration Day, 2001 (January 20th), when George W. first took office. Despite popular belief, Clinton did not leave us a surplus when he left office. He left us $5.7 trillion in national debt.

The national debt was $10,626,877,048,913.08 as of Inauguration Day, 2009 (January 20th), when George W. left office and Obama began his first term. These eight years encompassed the 9/11 tragedy as well as hurricane Katrina, two Mississippi River floods, and no fewer than five hurricanes that caused massive damage in Florida. If I remember correctly, 2001 was also the year of that record outbreak of tornados, including two F5s, which caused billions in damages.

Yet, over the course of 8 years during the Bush administration, the debt only increased $4,899,100,310,608.44.

The national debt is now $15,519,140,875,930.82 as of March 12, 2012. Over the course of 3 years during the Obama administration, the debt has increased thus far $4,892,263,827,017.74. This means that the Bush administration spent a mere $6.8 billion more over the course of an entire eight years, through a war and multiple calamities, than the Obama administration has already spent in three as it expanded the wars along with the social programs.

If you divide the debt increase since Obama took office by the three years it took to generate it, you have an actual annual increase in the debt of approximately $1,630,754,609,005.91, which is the $1.6 trillion annual deficit everyone keeps hearing about. If you add $1.6 trillion for the fourth year of this term, plus $1.6 trillion for each of the four years of a second term, there is a total increase in the debt of $8 trillion, not including the additional debt that will be generated by Obamacare when it takes effect in 2014. But Obamacare not included, the completion of a second term for Obama with the same spending habits unchanged means a national debt of $23,672,913,920,960.40, or $23.67 trillion, by the time Obama leaves office in January of 2017, which is only five years away. When you add in the $800 billion annual expense for Obamacare from 2014 to 2016 (an additional $2.4 trillion over three years), the total national debt he will be leaving us when he leaves office will be $26,072,913,920,960.40, or $26 trillion.

That’s how he’s taking 17 and turning it into 25 (though it’s actually 26). So I think it’s you who doesn’t have a handle on your facts.

And this was not intended to be an ugly post. Just putting the actual numbers out there to clarify this issue.

      • Deerinwater

I see! This 26 trillion is a “projected” figure.

“W” making only a down payment to his wars with no end in sight and no planed exit.

It’s interesting to note, “W” kept these war cost “off the books” and in fact kept two sets of books. That these wars were never funded. That that were never any plans made to pay for them.

Also projected VA cost has not been includes in your figures or “W”‘s figures.

It is true, “O” has gone through some serious loot, about a trillion a year so far. “O” has indeed ramp up these wars in an effort to bring them to a conclusion at the protest of such men like John McCain.

It is true, that more American’s have more and better health care coverage today. It is true that that the effort has been made to lighten the burden that was places on emergency care providers as people put off medical care until their condition became critical.

It is true, this cost was in the neighborhood of 8 billion. It is also true, there is long term “projected saving” associated with these changes. And unlike national destroys , this expenditure is certain.

So lets’ face it, we are talking about maybe 5 trillion in 4 years which is alarming for sure.

But then again, the way I went through loot in the past few days, I’ll be broke by Friday. But if I invested well, my “returns” are in the future. Is that not so?

Spending is going to take place regardless, while controlling spending is very important.

But “what” you elect to spend on is just as important as how much you spend while we seem to be discussing here “WHO” spent it.

We didn’t need these wars. like Colin Powell said, “You break it, it’s yours, you own it”. Humpty Dumpty is now broken, and all the Kings horses and all the Kings men will never put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

      • Deerinwater

“Despite popular belief, Clinton did not leave us a surplus when he left office. He left us $5.7 trillion in national debt.”

Correct ! , much like Ronnie Reagan, but unlike Reagan, he controlled Federal spending inside a budget, leave a budget surplus.

      • http://www.ifonlyphotos.com Alex Frazier

        @ Deerinwater:

$26 trillion is only a projected figure if spending habits change. If spending habits remain as they are, $26 trillion is an absolute fact, no different than the fact that a $300 a month car payment will equal $10,800.00 worth of payments after three years. It’s an absolute certainty, unless something happens to alter the terms.

As for your suggestion of separate books, I don’t know anything about that. Perhaps you could provide a source so I can go read about it. Whether or not Bush left things unpaid for, or that VA costs were not included in the figures, again, you’ll have to provide some source evidence for me to read.

The numbers I provided came from the Department of the Treasury. They are the most reliable I know of.

Obama hasn’t gone through a trillion a year. He has gone through a little more than a trillion and a half a year. That may seem like a petty distinction, but that half equals an extra $2 trillion over four years.

Obama is not speeding up the wars. He is spreading them. There are economic reasons for doing so. Under the Keynesian model of economics, deficit spending is believed to be the best method for kick starting an economy. They claim that what the economy needs is liquidity. In the midst of a recession, liquidity is scarce since people hold on to what money they have. To combat this, the multiplier is employed through government deficit spending to deliberately create inflation to confiscate your savings and put them back into circulation. It’s called putting idle funds to work. War, it has been proven, is the most expedient method of facilitating deficit spending with the least amount of protest from the people.

They think money needs to be spent. You aren’t spending it. So they spend it for you, and leave you scratching your head wondering why a box of your favorite cereal is now smaller than it used to be and costs twice as much.

You won’t have any returns in the future. Unless you are a full blown capitalist who takes advantage of what remains of our free market, your money will become worthless faster than you can save it or grow it. An average CD earns 3% right now. A “safe” mutual fund earns about 9%. A savings account earns .03%. Treasury bonds earn .02%.

        Inflation is 9.5%.

When inflation is greater than interest, you lose money. It’s an illusion if you think you are making anything. If you earn 3% annually and lose 9.5% annually in purchasing power, then $100 becomes $103 after a year, but has the spending power of $94. You’d lose $6 worth of your spending power. You might as well have spent the $100 and enjoyed whatever you bought with it.

You can’t fix a broken system when you only have bad parts to choose from. How are we to return to electing Statesmen and ban the politicians?

      • Randal Agostini

It’s not easy, but you start at the bottom. Who do you elect for those city and county positions. Most of the talk “Serving the Country” is hogwash – nearly everyone is out for themselves. If you join a group that wants to promote responsible government and is effective in getting it’s people elected then it can be equally effective at removing them if they do not work out. It will take time but there is ample evidence to show that it works. Invest a little time – a few evening hours each month and it will pay back in more responsible local government, which will help to keep taxes in line.
Obama definitely has to go – his ideas are literally poison to the American Economy, which was already in trouble before he got there.
Fasten your seat belts for at the very least we are in for a rough ride. I do not know what kind of pilot you want in charge in the front, but I do know this one never graduated from flying school.

One thing we need to do, CJ, is to quit rubber-stamping the candidates that are served up to us by the Establishment. Most important is to work hard to educate ourselves and our acquaintances to the reality of the Big Government gang. If enough people are awakened to reality, they can’t stop us.
Randal’s suggestions are good ones, but until the people get educated in the Principles of Freedom, we would probably be trading one group of Sociopaths for another.
It’s in our human nature to want Free goodies, even if they aren’t really Free. And it’s in our human nature to think we can control all that is bad. The Leaders use those instincts to manipulate us into keeping them in Power.
We need to recognize that condoning the Welfare State or the Warfare State just furthers our loss of Freedom and Prosperity.

        John,

I don’t know about that. If we had a President that actually encouraged the development of our fossil fuels industry, we could create a lot of good jobs pretty quickly. Obama has done just the opposite. That’s one example of how it does make a difference who’s in the White House. I’m sure if we try, we can think of a number of other differences a President can make to our economy. While most administrations and Congress’ do little to encourage business development, in my opinion, Obama has been the biggest job killing President since Jimmy Carter. I can’t imagine any other candidate for the President, Republican, Democrat, or other would do any worse than Obama.

3/13/12, Dear “Cast,” Paul stands a Chinaman’s chance of getting the nomination. He’s better off practicing medicine. I case you haven’t heard: student loans are now under the purview of Obamacare; no more private finance. I guess that means, lest the mandate is stricken by the Supreme Court, the gov’t gets to dictate what courses you take.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jpacord John Acord

I should add that John Williams estimates the true unemployment rate to be above 22% when you count all of the underemployed and discouraged workers that were counted prior to Clinton’;s revising of how the rate is calculated. we are at or near Great Depression levels.

    • http://gravatar.com/wandamurline wandamurline

I think everyone is pretty depressed right now.

    • sb36695

My husband has a business, and I keep wondering the same thing. Our income is down about 50%. We are not considered unemployed or underemployed. We are ok, because we have no debt. But I do wonder how others are doing, and I don’t see anything getting better.

      • pweiters9

3/13/12, sb, The cost of living has doubled in the last 3 years. That’s the plan. BO campaigned on a theme of screwing us like never before. And the bottom feeders bought it.

    • http://www.coliancepartners.com James Lindstrom

The experts say that the unemployment rate is declining. Try this litmus test. Take a drive around your community looking for vacant office/retail space. I think you will be shocked to see soooo much space available. Translation: those businesses and jobs are gone. In most cases, these clousures are not counted in the “experts” numbers. At best our ecomony is flat, but it is certainly not getting significantly better as the “experts” would have you believe.

      • http://gravatar.com/hattles JeffH

James Lindstrom, agreed…see it every day no matter where I go…and the reports keep saying it’s getting better yet the dollar buys less & less and the jobs “ain’t” out there. Obviously the detached government aren’t seeing the realities of everyday life as we(the people)are. But, judging by some responses here, as was indicated in yesterdays PLD article, Mr. Cardinal’s Futility , the AAV just can’t see it on their own either.

      • pweiters9

3/13/12, James, 10 years ago, I bought a brand-new Cadillac from a dealership in North Bergen, NJ. Less than 3 years ago, the dealer went out of business. Although I’m still driving that car, no one has, since, taken over those 2 buildings; the place is still vacant to this day.

  • Power To The People

It all sounds like a plan to enslave us. Trust nothing the government says. Trust your gut and prepare for the worse as it is coming.

    • CJ

Maybe the best ‘aid’ to the numbers is our “do nothing” congress. While they have stopped changing the rules for businesses, the business can focus on doing work, and less time is wasted reviewing policies for complience to every little change in the laws.

      • Warrior

What? From the head usurper on down, they all say they’re focused like “laser beams”!!

      • http://gravatar.com/wandamurline wandamurline

If the federal government focused on their job that the Constitution allows them to do, we would all be better off. They are completely out of control and need to be reigned in. They have no business in the private sector, health care, auto industry, banking, education….their job is to protect America from invasion, and we can see this is lacking due to the invasion from Mexico and instead of stopping it, they are allowing it….and their other job is for infrastructure and across state line commerce (which they have overly used for their own agenda). The rest should be goverened by the states as stated in the law of our land, the Constitution. Their retirement should be dumped into the social security kitty and they can draw it like the rest of us at age 62 calculated like ours, since they passed Obamacare, then they can participate in it….it is time to make them participate in the laws that they pass. Enough is enough.

What’s wrong with our world, what’s wrong with our country, and what’s wrong with our economy? How is it that the one time world economic leader is now on the verge of being reduced to third-world country status? How is it our president is now seeking assistance for our struggling economy from the countries where we allowed big business to send our jobs in their quest for $14 a day labor? We should have told them back then to pack up and take their corporate headquarters also! Maybe you’re one of those arrogant folks who say that will never happen to our great nation. I’ve got news for you guys, it’s happening! If the U.S. Dollar (Which J.P. Morgan/ Stanley is now comparing strength-wise to the Mexican Peso.) is ever allowed to be replaced as the world standard currency, we will be a sovereign nation no longer. We will have become a member of the New World Order. Maybe you’re one of those who say that it’s about time, but before you go jumping on that one-world bandwagon and buy yourself a Rosetta-stone C.D. to learn to speak Mandarin Chinese, please stop and consider that we are the only nation on the face of this Earth that was ever founded on the principle that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator (The three words our president had trouble remembering when quoting this line, although to his credit, he finally did get it right when addressing our troops in Afghanistan shortly after Thanksgiving the year before last.) with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That’s not by the power of some king, queen, chairman, czar, dictator, imam, act of congress, or senate, but by our Creator! Which makes these rights undeniable! Is there a higher order to be sought? I think not! The New World Order won’t know anything about We the People, but will be of the elites, by the elites, and for the elites. The rest of us that they allow to live will simply be their slaves. Wanna see their agenda in a lapidary nutshell, in their materia sacra? Simply read the “Georgia Guidestones.” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojyBTAuv8Uc) I know what St. Patrick would have done. Study “Crom Curauch” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC3joJU4gvs) to find out, and the true story behind St. Pattys’ Day and why it’s more than a worthy holiday to be celebrated.

Unfortunately the average person is as much to blame for big business going overseas. We were the ones who were willing to buy that cheap Chinese and Taiwanese crap all in order to save a few bucks instead of buying American made stuff. Business couldn’t compete with cheap foreign labor and heavily subsidized foreign businesses all the while having the yoke of government tyranny in the form of expensive regulations and laws. Not to mention that the people bought into the idea that businesses had to pay their fair share of taxes. Well, only an ignorant person could ever believe that a successful business ever paid a tax or ever will. A business needs a profit to stay in business and those corporate taxes are only passed onto the consumer who will never know just how much the cost of the American goods they buy is really those corporate taxes. Maybe as much as 40% of the cost of what you buy is corporate tax most of which goes into social programs.

      • http://Gunn Tom

Indeed…. We are supposedly “adults” and can make choices. Every purchasing decision you make, no matter how seemingly trivial; is an OPPORTUNITY to exercise your authority over the market. Here is some advice I once got from my Dad: “If You DON”T REALLY NEED IT…..DON”T BUY IT”. “NEVER…..EVER….BUY ANYTHING that you CONSUME ON CREDIT CARD” (like groceries, gasoline, etc.) and finally: ” STAY OUT OF DEBT”.

As such, I really don’t buy that much “stuff”. Accumulating a lot of “stuff” is a pain in the arse anyway…..everything you have……must be maintained….so better not to have it. Furthermore, I read EVERY label of EVERY product I do purchase. If it says “made in china”, I put it back on the shelf.

How about the Senate and president follow the constitution and quit ruining our economy and everything else. If you haven’t noticed we’re turning into a police state where the government tries to control every aspect of our life. The press and senate can’t even pass a budget but have no problem extending the Patriot act or passing bills like NDAA. Our government is treasonous, that is if one was to follow the constitution!

Peter Calvet: If you read the article carefully you would know that this article is critical of our federal bureaucracy and not your hero, Barack Obama. As a matter of fact, he is saying that the “government” is destroying the 99% in favor of the 1%, the same message as President Obama. The following actually sounds more critical of the Republicans that it does of the Democrats, who are saying the same thing as this author.

“U.S. economic policy continues to focus on the mega-rich at the expense of 99 percent of the population. U.S. interest rates are kept at or near zero in order to maximize mega-bank earnings while depriving tens of millions of retired Americans of interest income on their lifetime savings, forcing them to spend their capital in order to live, thus depriving their heavily indebted children of inheritance.”

Freedom Fighter, saw the video and it was hilarious. Not sure what it had to do with the topic, though, or even Obama, for that matter. Look, I get you guys hate Obama. But paranoid accusations just make YOU look like sheeple. And what is the answer to Obama? Romney? You must be joking. Because in the real world out there, those are the real choices. Maybe it sucks. Maybe there should be a better way, but, believe it or not, it’s the AMERICAN way. Yes, you heard me. It’s the American way that you are free to change. But lying about Obama ain’t gonna do it. It just makes you look stupid. He ain’t a Muslim, a foreigner, or a Socialist. Deal with that!

Build something, don’t just tear things down. When my town of Bristol was going down I got involved and now I’m the Chairman of Bristol’s Redevelopment Agency. I took decisive action and rid ourselves of the people who were bringing us down and saved a bunch of neighborhoods and the waterfront. Small contribution but positive action not constant whining about how things are terrible and getting worse. We all can do things working together. Complaining about this President only to help replace him with a worse President does nothing for our country. And please don’t embarrass yourselves by saying that anybody is better than Obama. Really? Do you honestly think that Joe the Plumber is up to the job? We have to make the best of what we have as we don’t have an ideal situation to pick from. The Republican Party’s response to Obama is about as lame as a response can be. Losers, all of them. Third Party? Been there, done that. Work to make our country better and get off the paranoia train. It leads to nowhere, like the famous Alaskan bridge, and please don’t get me started on the Alaskan beauty queen.

Well Peter, why is this a “whiny piece of manure article”? It’s based on independent research by a well known author with published data that’s very hard to refute. There is no agenda but making sense out of numbers and the author doesn’t just pick on the government but the private sector as well. Some of the private companies have just as able “spin doctors” as the government and we absolutely need somebody that has the ability to report in an objective and scholarly way. Our government DOES have its agendas. Some good and some not so good and it’s wonderful to have ALL the facts, not just the ones that feel good.

      • David169

        Peter,
Can you tell me how the 8.3% and other numbers are developed?
I use the BLS numbers and not any models or other formula that can be manipulated. I have rounded off all numbers in favor ofthe administration.
Start: January 2009 with 163,000,000 people in the workforce:
        2009: 21,000,000 people laid off, 850,000 hired
        2010: 18,000,000 people laid off, 1,000,000 hired
        2011: 17,000,000 people laid off, 1,600,000 hired
March 2012 125,000,000 people in the workforce unemployment 8.3%
Our actual unemployment is 37%. By eliminating those workers who have exhausted their benefits and those workers who did not look for work during any two week period the administration has removed over 30,000,000 unemployed from the workforce. By eliminating these 30+ million workers from the workforce unemployment magically drops to 8.3%. I you don’t believe this is true take a day and compile it yourself.

Don’t just hide behind a barrage of epithets (or your grandchild).
And I find it rather odd that you call us paranoid when just a bit earlier you said — “And why am I the only one on this board with my picture? Looks fishy to me”.
You can bash us all day long, Peter, and it won’t improve your stature one little bit.

      • http://www.ifonlyphotos.com Alex Frazier

Correction Peter … we’ve lost our freedom. If you are not aware of that, then you are not as informed on politics as your haughty post would imply.

As per the Patriot Act, our right to be secure in our persons, homes, papers and effects has been undermined. Instead of searching with a warrant and upon probable cause, they have given themselves the authority to search us in order to find probable cause.

As per the Defense Authorization Act, our rights to a grand jury, to not be deprived of freedom without due process of law, to a speedy and public trial, to be informed of any charges against us, to confront witnesses, or to have the assistance of counsel, have all been overturned. They can now detain us indefinitely under suspicion of terrorist activity without a lawyer, charges, a trial, etc.

As suspected terrorists, we can be treated in the same way as the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, who are subjected to waterboarding, sleep deprevation, and other methods of “interrogation” that are nothing less than cruel and unusual punishment.

As per the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011, it is now a federal crime to gather and protest anywhere that the government is conducting business.

As per more bills than I can reasonably list, there are so many infringements on the right to keep and bear arms that they can barely be listed without making a dedicated effort to do so.

So without even taking states states like Illinois into consideration, who treats the 14th amendment like it doesn’t exist, at the federal level alone, they have deprived us of our 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, and 10th amendment rights. When you add in the behavior of the States, we have also been deprived of our 14th amendment rights.

That being said, I don’t appreciate your attitude. You talk as though people like me are crazy because I state what should be obvious to anyone who is paying attention. You only think you’re free. But just try to exercise some of your rights and see how free you really feel. Try going to Illinois with a gun. See how free you feel when you’re facing five years for a firearms violation when you’re supposed to have the uninfringed right to keep and bear arms. Try telling a cop that they can’t search your vehicle at a roadside stop. See how free you feel when they write you a spiteful ticket because you dared to defy them. Go protest the government, as it is your right to do. See how free you feel when the police pepper spray you without provocation.

It’s your prerogative if you have liberal views. I’m not here to say that you can’t. But don’t let your views interfere with your common sense and your ability to evaluate what’s going on right in front of your face.

      • http://gravatar.com/katrael59ganaiden katrael59ganaiden

Yes and some of us have already undergone these illegal searches. An illegal search presumes guilt as the only way they can conduct such a search is under false pretenses. Yes, sheeple don’t know they’ve lost their rights under the law and the won’t until they come home to find that the authorities are waiting for them and that they have conducted a search of their premises with out a warrant all on a “we were being a good neighbor” clause in the law??? When that happens they’ll finally understand what you’re talking about.

      • Vito R.

        Dear Peter:
I must inquire whether you’ve noticed the lack of respect for the U.S. Constitution by the President and the Department of Justice, with “Attorney General” Eric Holder’s refusal to prosecute such blatant law-breakers as the New Black Panther Party and ACORN? Does the phrase “Fast and Furious” mean nothing to you?

Have you noted without dismay the president’s hare-brained, anti-capitalist and un-American belief that those who work hard and have actually dared to earn a handsome income be penalized and have their hard-won wealth “re-distributed” to others?

Have you not watched in horror as the unemployment rate has soared perilously close to 9% among your fellow citizens? (the real rate is 10.3%)

Are you not outraged by every single element of ObamaCare, and the fact that a growing number of physicians in fields such as cardiology are considering becoming “life coaches” to their patients. This is because the tests they routinely order to monitor the health of their patients will be over-ridden by computerized regulations, and, indeed, forbidden entirely by green eye-shaded federal government employees who’ve never seen the inside of a medical school classroom? These people will make decisions based on the return on that health care expenditure, not whether or not the patient wants the treatment (some of these treatment could be life-saving).

Aren’t you concerned that social engineers or clueless politicians such as Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of Health and “Human Services” have total say on the health care decisions of you and your family? Health care decisions will be made by them, not by you and your doctor.

If you do not understand the above facts, then you do not really understand the ramifications of ObamaCare.

Are you not horrified that your country is now more than $15 trillion in debt? Does this not concern you, if not for yourself then for your children and grandchildren?

Can you honestly say that none of these outrages causes you to reconsider your original, ill-founded enthusiasm for Barack Obama?

If you’re as pro-Obama in 2012 as you were in 2008, you can only be one of two things:

        (1) a blind Democratic loyalist who, like a lemming, does not give a moment’s thought to the actual positions and hazardous consequences of your voting, or (2) a blinkered, clueless cave-dweller cut off from all true news of the United States and the world for the past four years. If that’s the case, I urge you to read news analysis on PJM.com during that period to see exactly what you’ve missed.

Just how much of the above news, and more, can you allow yourself to ignore?

      • Thomas Gunn

Peter, All due respect, but you are wrong. And let me respectfully say, that I hope you will refrain from the egotistical need to “be right” just for your own edification, and instead have the open minded intelligence to be devoted to finding “TRUTH”. Being devoted to TRUTH my friend, means being willing to be wrong about something, so put your ego aside for a moment, and let me educate you a bit on socio-economics:

You really think “Obama is NOT a Socialist” ? It’s clear then that you have never read “The Communist Manifesto” by Karl Marx, or you would understand immediately, that not only is Obama a DEVOUT Socialist, but so were George W Bush, WJ Clinton G.H.W. Bush, before him, along with most of the presidents who have “served” the central banking authority since it was formed in 1913. Over the past 100 years, Republican and “Democrat” presidents alike, have ALL been Socialists. The only one who at some point attempted to restore true free-market economics in this country, was JFK, and he had his head blown in return for his effort (you’ll need to figure that one out for yourself). In Karl Marx’s “Communist Manifesto”, he wrote about “the evils of Capitalism” (in spite of never…..EVER, having set foot in the United States and so had never seen a free market system in action). In his treatise, he listed 10 preconditions that must be satisfied, in order to destroy free market capitalism, and replace it with State-Socialism (Communism). He called, these, “The 10 Planks of Communism”: The following, are Karl Marx’s “10 planks of Communism”

        1. Abolition of private property in land and application of all rents of land to public purpose.

The courts have mis-interpreted the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (1868) to give the government far more “eminent domain” power than was originally intended, Under the rubric of “eminent domain” and various zoning regulations, land use regulations by the Bureau of Land Management, onerous property taxes, and “environmental” excuses, private property rights have become all but eradicated in the United States. Land, vehicles, and other forms are seized almost every day in this country under various “forfeiture” provisions by Federal, State, and Local governments.

        2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

The 16th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, 1913 (which some scholars maintain was never properly ratified), and various State income taxes, established this major Marxist coup in the United States in 1913, not un-concidentally the same year in which the Federal Reserve Central Banks was created. These taxes continue to drain the lifeblood out of the American economy and greatly reduce the accumulation of desperately needed capital for future growth, business starts, job creation, and salary increases.

        3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

Another Marxian attack on private property rights is in the form of Federal & State estate taxes and other inheritance taxes, which have abolished or at least greatly diluted the right of private property owners to determine the disposition and distribution of their estates upon their death. Instead, government bureaucrats get their greedy hands involved .

        4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

We call it government seizures, tax liens, “forfeiture” Public “law” 99-570 (1986); Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; the imprisonment of “terrorists” and those who speak out or write against the “government” (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill); or the IRS confiscation of property without due process.

        5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.

The Federal Reserve System, created by the Federal Reserve Act of Congress in 1913, is indeed such a private central bank, and it politically manipulates interest rates and holds a monopoly on the creation of money, and artificial manipulation of the money supply, along with fractional-reserve lending practiced by commercial banks, it thus has legal authority to engage in counterfeiting in the United States. This is exactly what Marx had in mind and completely fulfills this plank, another major socialist objective. Yet, most Americans naively believe the U.S. of A. is far from a Marxist or socialist nation.

        6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the state.

In the U.S., communication and transportation are controlled and regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) established by the Communications Act of 1934 and the Department of Transportation and the Interstate Commerce Commission (established by Congress in 1887), and the Federal Aviation Administration as well as Executive orders 11490, 10999 — not to mention various state bureaucracies and regulations. There is also the federal postal monopoly, AMTRAK and CONRAIL — outright socialist (government-owned) enterprises. Instead of free-market private enteprrise in these important industries, these fields in America are semi-cartelized through the government’s regulatory-industiral complex.

        7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

While the U.S. does not have vast “collective farms” (which failed so miserably in the Soviet Union), we nevertheless do have a significant degree of government involvement in agriculture in the form of price support subsidies and acreage alotments and land-use controls. The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture. As well as the Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Evironmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations. THe most recent example of Nationalization of industry was the auto-bailout that rendered the US Government as General Motors’ single largest shareholder.

        8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

We call it the Social Security Administration and The Department of Labor. The National debt and inflation caused by the communal bank has caused the need for a two “income” family. Woman in the workplace since the 1920′s, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, assorted Socialist Unions, affirmative action, the Federal Public Works Program and of course Executive order 11000. And I almost forgot…The Equal Rights Amendment means that women should do all work that men do including the military and since passage it would make women subject to the draft.

        9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country.

We call it the Planning Reorganization Act of 1949 , zoning (Title 17 1910-1990) and Super Corporate Farms, as well as Executive orders 11647, 11731 (ten regions) and Public “law” 89-136.

        10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children’s factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.

This, ignores of course the actual fact, that there is no such thing as a “free education”. All education has a cost, and it must be borne by someone. But by disconnecting those being educated, from the schools who provide that education; has rendered a system where the public schools are not accountable to the families of the children they educate, but instead are accountable to the politicians who fund them, using monies extorted from honest home “owners” who are perpetually and forever threatened with seizure of their home unless they pay. Private schools, are in general substantially better in quality, because they are accountable to the people who pay them….the parents willing to pay tuition for their child’s education, in spite of having their home’s held hostage in exchange for protection money in the form of property taxes.

…….IN fact, the United States has been a Socialist Country since 1913, since the existance of a Central Bank with the authority to manipulate the money supply is a cornerstone of Socialism, and is incompatible with a free market society. The fact that the “robber baron” bankers like the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Warburgs, and their puppets like Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke, and their ilk have been held up as being “capitalists” is a SCAM. These men are MONOPOLISTS, — who are bent on CENTRALIZED CONTROL over labor, property, and the means of production (the definition of Socialism). What America has been practicing for the past 100 years, is “False Flag Capitalism”…… Which is actually a destructive and predatory form of “Corporate Socialism”, which is falsely disguised and named “American Capitalism”…in order to demonize and discredit true free market economics and to eventually destroy it. Monopolism….is the antithesis, of free-market capitalism.

So Peter, before you shoot your mouth off about Socialism -vs- Free Market Capitalism, you had best read a few books and learn about what these socio-economic models are really all about.

Thomas Gunn, I love your information. I’ve never read the communist manifesto either and the first thing I thought about when you began to list the planks of communism was property taxes then you went on and spoke about them. A property tax makes the states the land owner and the people who improve it for the state merely renters. Anyway, I doubt our dear Peter will do any independent thinking and studying on his own.

We can go to http://www.petition2congress.c… to question eligibility of Obama. You might have to go to action home to see the petition.

3/13/12, Power 2 the [master], How else would you get an avowed radical pledging to “fundamentally change” the US as we know it? Not to forget your energy costs must “necessarily skyrocket.” You had wet-behind-the-ears 18y/o’s; “let’s vote fore a black prez, ain’t that cool?” Blacks, women (53%), section 8ers, drug addicts, bums, & just plain undesirables came out in droves for the “Dear Leader.” If by some stretch this Commie gets re-elected, heaven help us.

KUDO’s to you my brother. you have hit the nail squarely on the head.

As we approach election time Everything will become ROSEY, All the GOV figures will show ALL’s Well, Don’t Believe it. TPTB have proven they cannot be trusted, they make up the Stats to support their Lies!
