Obama Announces Push For Vet Housing Plan

President Barack Obama announced a new plan to provide veterans and active members of the military with mortgage relief in the form of government-backed loans, his latest attempt to reinvigorate the housing sector, The Washington Times reported.

According to the newspaper, the President laid out his housing-relief proposal in his first full news conference of the year. Obama specifically spoke to the veterans and service members whose deployments and mandatory moves have made them particularly vulnerable to the pitfalls of the housing crisis.

The Times reported that the President's plan reduces fees for qualifying borrowers with Federal Housing Authority-insured loans who want to refinance their home at a lower rate. This move would build on the landmark housing settlement with major mortgage lenders by the White House and 49 State attorneys general last month.

The Washington Post reported that Obama also outlined a new agreement with banks to review foreclosures for members of the military, as deals that took place since 2006 will be looked at and compensation may be provided to anyone who wrongfully lost their home.

    Based on what I’ve seen and heard see through Obummer’s asylum-like machinations, this is simply another pre-election attempt to BUY VOTES. Is someone nervous among Washington’s Progressives and National Socialists?
    Apparently, this criminal administration has lied so many times that they have a bad memory problem, and they don’t remember that dumping on the military is NOT a good idea.
    Obummer’s last cheerleader, Queen Nancy Pelosi, wanted to treat returning combat veterans like they were criminals.
    She never recanted that asinine position, so that means Obummer is definitely DOWN with Pelosi’s half-baked comment. Try, try, try, Obummer. The word is out, and veterans have no use for posers.

      Have you noticed that since a few months ago when it was mentioned in the news that R. Paul was getting so much support from the military, Odumberer has gone out of his way to “support” the troops??? Campaign mode 24/7/365!!!

        Joe H, I know. When it comes to the military, there’s no difference between Bubbas O’Klinton or O’bummer. Neither have any use for the military. It’s obvious that when an arrogant yahoo like O’bummer goes before a military crowd, the audience has been “pre-selected,” and he knows he won’t have any hecklers.
        I thought LBJ and RMN were flaky. I can’t imagine serving under a Fakir-in-Chief like O’bummer. When you can’t tell the difference between a friend and an enemy [i. e., when you have a "prez" or a first-class LOSER in the W H], you are in the WRONG place. Bring the troops HOME!
        The Founding Fathers could have considered making it mandatory for a C-in-C to have been in the military. Then again, they didn’t allow for the possibility that America would always be in a war or gearing up for another war. And they damned sure didn’t allow for the fact that a prez who claims to be against wars that “someone else started” would take over and make matters WORSE (in this case, 1) the economy has been raped 2) we’re looking down the barrel of another war, “thanks” to Obummer) 3) nonexistent jobs are being ‘created’ out of thin air and 4) our fearless leader wants more bailouts to protect his worthless, suck-up “friends” again. Talent, my arse. Leadership, my aching joints.
        Hope-and-change, my almost worthless dollar.

    If the President helps all these veterans where are we going to get the money to rebuild Afghanistan and Iraq and fight the two wars that the GOP party wants to start?There are some stupid ideas in DC but this isn’t one of them.Most of the GOP want to go to war with Syria, and Iran to protect Israel again., now that is stupid.
