Poll: Americans Say Don’t Strike Iran Or Meddle In Syria

A new poll for The Hill shows that more than half of likely voters agree with Ron Paul in regard to staying out of other countries’ business.

According to the poll, 57 percent of respondents believe the Administration of Barack Obama should “leave the situation alone” in Syria. Only 25 percent think the United States should “get more involved” in helping rebels in their fight against the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

When asked about the Presidential administration’s foreign relations with Israel, respondents were split in their opinions; 32 percent said Obama should be more supportive of the country, 25 percent say President is too supportive and the rest believe the U.S.-Israel relationship is “about right.”

The poll also found that 52 percent of respondents would be very (28 percent) or somewhat (24 percent) supportive of an Israeli strike on Iran, while 41 percent were very (19 percent) or somewhat (22 percent) opposed. Only 21 percent of respondents were very supportive of a U.S. strike on Iran, 20 percent were somewhat supportive.

    As usual, political double talk even within the confines of surveys.. 57% say that 52% say that 21, 19, 33% say, etc., etc., and so forth.. Their all saying this (or that, or even that) yadda, yadda, yadda yet the dumb asses STILL think Ron Paul is a loon . What a bunch of surveyed losers. We don’t want (that is, I don’t want) the rodeo clowns that are ‘riding the bull’ any more than I want a non-active president.. Ron Paul should at least be given an opportunity to prove himself.. Thirty years of never flip-flopping yet he’s STILL seen as a kook. What a bunch of sleepers who actually think ANOTHER Bush is going to miraculously get us out of the very thing they put us through in the first place. Actually WE’RE the flip-floppers.. first the Dems because we were tired of Pubs, then the Pubs because we were tired of the Dems.. Then the Dems because we were tired of the Pubs, now were looking for another Pub because were tired of this Dem.. Sounds like a broken record where the highlight of it all is the compromise of the lesser of two evils. I think we should organize the ‘Voters’ party, choose the best of the best and make Uncle Sam use those IRS volunteer tax option dollars as our donations then finally when we have our man in office and he/she screws us like all the rest have then we’ll have no one else but ourselves to blame. I know, it’s a dream.. Dare to dream the dream.

    barry is holding off until later in the spring then will help israel in this matter. he is playing a political hand and the closer he can do this to the election time the better for him at the polls.if he strikes now people will forget by november.
    the president is a muslim and it must be tough for him to council with a jew like netanyahu especially when that jew is ten times smarter than himself and barry must contend with the powerful jews in his party. poor barry or should i say poor u.s.a. that we have to contend with such ignorance.

    45, Dont you think other people of other Countries think like you, The only problem is they dont have the War Power that we have, But look at Vietnam, WE had the Power but the Viet People had the WILL and a Better CAUSE
    See its easy to defeat a undermaned and unequipped Army, But its the People that is impossible to beat WHEN they have the will to keep on fighting.
    WHy do you think America is still Free, ITS our Armed Citizens that keep us Free.
    When you have an unarmed Country of citizens, Like there was in WW2, The Germans took control of these Countries in just a few Hours or Days.
    In Afganistan a lot of the people are undecided, same in Iraq, But there is a lot of People that will fight with any means Possible because WE invaded their Country. All we did is replace one Crook for anouther, Only thing is the replacement goes along with the Powers to Be.Nothing has been done to make Peace, or keep the Peace, as long as we are one sided in our dealings with the People then the other side will keep on fighting.
    Sometimes even i cant make sense any more.

    The UN if it was controlled for the good of all countries based on Peace,and the welfare of the People, Then it would serve a usefull Purpose.
    Using the Powers of all the countries to help control the leadership, To many countries and their resources are taken by the few,and the Many suffer.
    Leaderships get Billions while the Citizens live on leftovers, And when they do fight to overthrow a bad Leadership, They are offen branded the bad guys.
    Granted other People want to be in Control for their own Power and Greed.
    A well organized UN could solve a lot of these Problems, If they acted For Peace and the Good of the People, Instead of siding with the Powers to be, But the Problem is the People that the Powers to be Put in these Positions,Leaderships decide, The People of ea Country should decide. The USA controlls a big part of the UNs Leadership, And its not always for good.
    The USA could be one of the Biggest role Models if our Govt would only start Practicing Peace. Then Big Brother could mean something Good, nstead of what People think now.
    But how do we find Good Decent Leaders who believe In good ,honest,and Peace, Well history shows us that There has been no such Leaders, So the few get Power and Richer, and the many still suffer.

    If we are attacked and we know where the culprits are, then I’m all in favor of going after them. However, if they are simply killing each other as they are in Syria or are simply making threats as they do in Iran, I think we should ignore them. But the moment they try to fulfill those threats we blast them back into the stone age.

    I also do NOT believe we should go into a country like Iraq or Iran to take out those who attack us and then attempt to rebuild the country at all. Certainly not better than it was to begin with, up to our own standards! I think we should simply take out the guilty, bomb everything to rubble, and then tell the survivors that’s what they get for letting those in power do what they did in the first place. And if the survivors are stupid enough to allow others to take power and attack us, we’ll come back and REALLY mess up the place!

    Polls have always been Controlled, i was once asked to do a Poll, First thing they asked what Party i belonged to. I walked away.
    I do not even believe in the polls they ask you to do on the Internet, To believe in these polls you need to know who is asking, and be able to trust them.And also the wording leaves a lot to not to trust.

    I love it when we go to War, Being told we are fighting for our Freedom, Can anyone tell me how Korea,Vietnam,Granada,Panama, Afganistan, and Iraq had anything to do with OUR Freedom. And now we are trying to get involved in Iran,Syria. Only thing i know it cost US a lot of Blood,guts and Money, AND what was the results, Some of you People should.Know, Some Will Never understand.

      The results, Ranger were a lot of dead bodies. Because the administrations for the last 50 years, with the exception of Bush ’41′ , only start things, they never finish what they start! They send in the troops, kill a few thousand on both sides,, realize they can’t get any more votes out of it and pull the pin!
      If they are worth the start, they are worth a finish. Without regards to votes!

      The idea of “wars” is not to defeat an enemy – except for the fact that most politicians consider the American citizens the enemy. They get us involved in wars to redirect the attention of the American voter away from what they want to do. Then they get out of the wars to encourage the American voter to vote for them to save the lives of the American military. They have no interest or intention of actually winning a war – it is simply misdirection.

      I always like to see or hear the questions.

      Some are always loaded questions like: “Have you beaten your wife lately?” They are designed to get you to agree with whatever result they want. I simply love to screw up their answers.

      For instance, a recent question I heard: “Are you in favor of destroying our natural resources?”

      You should have seen the person’s face when I answered, “It sound okay to me.”

    Hell, the Obama regime here in america is one of the same. America is falling victim to a ruethless dictator here at home, and not much is being done, although i fear that s..t is going to hit the fan this summer. We have very little to gain by meddling in Syrias business, other than helping to overthrow a heavy handed arab. Libya and Egypt are countries in turmoil after their leaders were taken out.Now we have John McCain and others wanting to go to war with Syria. That is so damn stupid that it needs no comment. I ca’nt wait until the November election so we can throw this whole bunch of “class 1″ and Obama out of office.

    I would say if you want to get involved in wars all over the planet, offer to pick up the check and volunteer to fight on the front lines. We need a special tax for war mongers so they can fund and fight in the wars they want to be involved in.

    every time we go to war it will cost us because we rebuild there country’s .
    so who is the winner . we win the war but we lose tax dollars by rebuilding
    these country’s better than they were . this is our home grown democrats
    that start war’s just to help other country’s . but our own country needs
    more help every thing is falling apart . we have no money because our
    democrats and the president send money to other country’s . so if we
    go to war with Iran we should not rebuild them .

    Why should we kill other Humans for not allowing US to Rape them – US Rob Them, or US tell them what to do?

    Would any of you feel the same way the folks in the Middle East feel when we do these very things to them?

    I would bet strong odds that not a single one of you would stand for allowing say France telling you what you can eat, what Religions you can follow, what car you can own, or even what you can wear, what Insurance you should buy.

    Oh wait, thats right Americans are deep into that type of behavior, after all many of you feel that 535 Nasty SOB’s should tell you all what you can do.

    Whats even more strange is most Americans as in 50% would be happy to send some ones child off to war just to fill that Blood Lust that Politicians tell you is for your own good.

    Poll results are most usually based on such a small number of people poled – 500 to 1000. Isn’t it is amazing as to how such a small number can sway the masses? And people actually think they’re worthy of believing – please. . . :(

    It’s difficult to trust a poll these days since so many people don’t truly understand what they are polled about. For example, polls showed the majority of Americans wanted a tax increase on the rich. A recent poll was done asking what percentage the rich should pay and the great majority of people chose 30%, the second highest tax rate selected was 25%. The rich currently pay 35% and will pay 40% when the Bush tax cuts expire. So, these people who voted for a tax increase really believe the rich are paying way less than they are, so of course they think they should get an increase. This is because this is what they are told all the time by Obama, even though it’s not true. Further, people making $250,000 are not millionaires. The media exploits Americans. I feel sorry for the people who take their time to watch nightly news so they can be knowledgeable about current affairs. They are fed a load of twisted lies and distortions and they go around telling friends and co-workers this garbage. They are ignorant of the truth even though they took the time to become knowledgeable.

    The ’25 %’ crowd that is safe and comfy and not being shot at or blasted should do themselves and America a favor and join the military. Then, they can see first-hand the differences between theory and fact in a war.
    When you go, be sure to take a bunch of Washington vermin with you. Their extra years and world-class wisdom will come in handy when you dodge bullets, IEDs and and all the many ways that people can use to maim and kill those who wear a uniform.
    Syria can get their own help. It’s time for America to stand down and get on with keeping America safe from our own domestic enemies and career criminals who pose as politicians.

      No nation should want to aggress against another unless directly threatened. It’s time to put away our toys boys and knock it off with the bluster . Pick our battles instead of creating them. Get our own house in order before we mess up someone elses without provocation.

      You all are correct. Let Syria get someone else to help them. Our troops and supply lines are overextended as it is, we don’t need to to stretch them thinner than they are now. Just like Rome, Hitler’s Germany, and the allied forces in Korea 1950, all of them were extended past their supply lines and overextended themselves. Let’s learn from history and not be doomed to repeat it. Iran? If they do something to our troops, yes, hit them. If all they are doing is blowing smoke, then leave them alone, but watch them closely. I don’t think their “president” has the nads to do anything. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!
