Birth Control Policy Faces First Vote In Senate

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are gearing up for the first vote in what has become a fierce battle over President Barack Obama's mandate that healthcare providers must cover the cost of contraceptives, Fox News reported.

According to the news outlet, the Senate will vote on March 1 to decide whether or not they want to quash the so-called "conscience" amendment that was authored by Senator Roy Blount (R-Mo.), a proposal that is designed to counter Obama's mandate.

This move would allow insurers and employers to opt out of any provision in the President's healthcare law to which they object on moral or religious grounds. That would include the requirement to cover the cost of birth control.

The Associated Press reported that Blount has led the push and presented the amendment to the Senate.

"The word 'contraception' is not in (the legislation) because it's not about a specific procedure," Blount said. "It's about a faith principle that the First Amendment guarantees."

This is the state of our Nation folks in a nutshell. We are about 16 Trillion in debt and OUR congress gives an audience to an oversexed gal from Georgetown, representing ALL the oversexed gals at Georgetown that “Think” that WE THE PEOPLE should pay for their pot driven promiscuous sex habits.

I think we all understand at this point why OBAMACARE is in fact unconstitutional and must be repealed. The foolishness and folly of Washington’s daycare mentality boggles the adult mind.

Given the aforesaid, this country will never survive such foolish behavior.

The REAL problem, and for my money, the ONLY problem, is that the government has absolutely no business forcing health care on the taxpayers, period.

And it’s NOT a First Amendment issue, it’s an issue that the Feds have no Constitutional leg to stand on regarding the insertion of their noses into our business. It is, after all, a 10th Amendment issue,

Vigilant, do you think the condom circus episode with the messed-up woman at Georgetown is just a coincidence?
To quote AGAIN from that Great Kookoid Enslaver, FDR, ‘when it comes to politics, NOTHING happens by accident.’
In Obummer’s “mind,” government can do no wrong. As America’s first Emperor, he thinks he’s infallible.
That one fact alone should have Obummer’s elected jockstrappers calling for his ouster. However, since they’ve all taken oaths and they tend to ‘honor’ warped obligations to ‘protect’ each other, I suspect it won’t happen.
Freedom is just a word to people like Obummer. If Hitler was alive today, he’d be driving himself crazy because he wouldn’t know if he should laugh his sorry ass off or explode with rage since a man ‘of color’ found a way to live with Fascism and National Socialism. And, he is utterly indifferent about black babies being “sacrificed” via abortion. Even Hitler’s concentration camps couldn’t do THAT. Talk about IRONY!
