The Wrong Lesson

February 2, 2012 by

The Wrong Lesson

Late last week, retired Lt. Gen. William Boykin, an outspoken Christian, spoke during a prayer breakfast in Ocean City, Md. Boykin discussed his personal spirituality and how it was interwoven throughout his life and career. Under normal circumstances, a retired war horse addressing a group of citizens in a small resort city attracts less attention than the surf report in a retirement community. But the left-wing hate group People for the American Way and the terrorist-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations decided to make Boykin’s speech the event of the offseason.

Following the hubbub, Boykin “has decided to withdraw speaking at West Point’s National Prayer Breakfast” on Feb. 8, according to a statement issued by the U.S. Military Academy. Boykin’s withdrawal followed a round of complaints from PFAW, CAIR and others. A statement by CAIR’s executive director Nihad Awad read:

We welcome Mr. Boykin’s withdrawal from this event and hope that the speaker who replaces him will offer cadets a spiritual message that promotes tolerance and mutual understanding.

When did tolerance and understanding earn a place in CAIR’s belief system? CAIR’s founders are the aforementioned Awad and Omar Ahmad, both former officers of the Islamic Association of Palestine. In his book Hamas: Politics, Charity, and Terrorism in the Service of Jihad, former FBI analyst and U.S. Treasury Department intelligence official Mathew Levitt described IAP as “intimately tied to the most senior Hamas leadership.” Let’s not sugarcoat it, people. CAIR is an Islamic terrorist public relations firm.

Some of you will read this and wonder why I didn’t discuss Mitt Romney’s triumph in Florida’s RINO-match of a primary or something equally as politically immediate. I will respond by warning you not to dismiss tales of this nature. A retired veteran was denied an opportunity to share fellowship with the cadets at West Point because of pressure brought by fringe liberals with a decided left-wing agenda and ties to terrorist groups. This is precisely the sort of camouflaged incrementalism that weakens the Nation from the roots up. What CAIR and its accomplices accomplished in pressuring West Point to send Boykin packing is a step toward policy. West Point isn’t some resort town; it’s one of the places from which the future leaders of our armed forces — men and women like Boykin — will be culled. What lessons will those future leaders learn when extremist groups can successfully censor the opinions of the leaders who came before them? More importantly, what lessons will they miss?

It is true that Boykin holds some fairly strong opinions about Islamofascists. That ought to surprise no one since his career sometimes pitted him against Islamofascists. Furthermore, Boykin’s opinions are less than shocking, considering the fact that Islamofascists hardly try to hide their feelings about him (and the rest of us). But to punish Boykin at the behest of vermin like CAIR and PFAW is the wrong message from the wrong people at the wrong time.

Notice how the Left and the Islamists always try to get Christ & Christianity out of everything. Why?, because they are followers of Satan and he hates Christ and everything He stands for, so they do Satan’s bidding for him here on earth.

  • Bernard England

I guess that maybe we should stop any Islamist from speaking anywhere too. This never happened until we got one for Pres.

  • justme

    Karolyn,
Troll or not, here’s some truth for you.

    Assuming you’re a Christian….
Do you honestly think a Muslim is going to like you because you stand up for them?

They hate you even more for it, as it shows cowardice and dishonesty.

    • Doc Sarvis

That is NOT truth. It may be true if you are talking only about Muslim extremists. Any extermist, including those who use any religion as a banner, will have that type of warpped thinking.

      • Buster the Anatolian

Well doc since the so called moderate muslims will not forcefully and absolutely condem the actions of the radicals it is logical to conclude justme is correct in his assessment of the situation.

      • 45caliber

The moderates have suffered under terrorism since Mohammad’s day. The fear of attack has been engrained into their life. While they may actually dislike what the terrorists do, they will not actively say so or stand in their way. That is what true terrorism does and means – creating a fear so great that those in charge can do whatever they wish without worries of the rest.

      • Karolyn

        You’re right 45.

    • Karolyn

No, I am not a Christian. I am a believer in Universal Intelligence. And in answer to your question, a moderate Muslim, especially a Muslim-American would appreciate it. I know people who have Muslim friends; and, yes, they are real friends who hold good jobs and function in this country just like everybody else. Oh, and they don’t live in Muslim ghettos either.

      • 45caliber

THere are many good Muslims. But see my comment about those above.

  • AVCurmudgeon

And a side note: Mr Obama is Commander in Chief of the US military, and this event is taking place at the foremost US military academy. He above everyone is in a position to say “sorry, CAIR, hands off.” But of course he remains silent.

  • AVCurmudgeon

I understand why Gen Boykin stood down. This event is about God, not about one man defending his right to speak. He is reverent and focused enough not to confuse himself with the bigger picture.

That said, it is more than ironic that CAIR would “congratulate” Boykin for showing a spirit of “tolerance and mutual understanding” after they drove him from the podium. Tolerance is always a one-way street for the protofascists on the left and within Islam.

And of course there is always the question: “if not now, when? and if not Gen Boykin, then who?” Every time someone stands down, however honorable the motives may be, it only serves to embolden these guttersnipes.

  • Jockamo

Continue to be strong, God’s way is the only way.

  • Alice Steinbacher

Please tell me why everybody backs down for these people? Especially, A Military Officer, someone we look up to for guidance and courage?
Are they threatening to harm us?

This is the United States of America, this our country, we are not an Islamic kingdom, we are founded on Christian/Judea principals, how can we let them bully us like this?

    as

    • 45caliber

      Alice:

I don’t believe he backed down. I believe he was not allowed the chance to stand up.

  • http://facebook FRANK BEJAR JR

Its time all Christians stood up and said, enough of the left!! Tell the Islamics to go HOME!!! Dispand the left completely..Its time for the Crusades to right whats wrong in this country.Lets start with the Clintonites and the Obamaites!!!!!!!!

  • 2WarAbnVet

Islam has been at war with the non-Islamic world since the year 623. Over the centuries brave Christians have resisted this aggression. Battles at Tours, the Crusades, Lepanto, and at the gates of Vienna were fought to resist the Muslim hordes. Now, however, our foolish views of tolerance and political correctness are being used to allow the fortitude of Western Civilization without a struggle.

  • Barbara Holmes

    1. God allowed us, Christians, to have this wonderful land.
    2. HE will protect us as long as we are faithful.

    7. We need God.

Pathetic… Only 1 Place in the Bible Realy Speaks of GOD! In the begining God Created! ( Not He / She…) Other Gods War against each other for control.

        Read past the first line.

      • Joe H.

        bert,
god is mentioned iin the Bible 4473 times. Like you were told, read BEYOND the first verse!!

      • Bert Cundle Sr.

Joe … Reed My post, 4,473 Times and Maybe you will get what it says!

    • HHH

      Time for your meds!!!

  • jdub

Wonder how Gen. George Patton would’ve handled that…..

    • Xavier

Patton? Well, remember what he said to that Russian General? that is how he would have handled it. That man had balls or you and I would be speaking German right now….

I say to the muslims; should we have another inside encounter like the one in civil war days, they will wish they never moved here…

    • Joe H.

Ask the mayor of Pheonix city Alabama at the time that Patton was there. He was released from command when he had all of his tanks line up on the bridges between Columbus Ga and Phoenix city and told them to release his men from their jails or there wouldn’t be a Phoenix City!! They believed him and let all of them go! He stood by his men and suffered a loss of command for it!

  • http://Warrner D121212

Well I have one statement to give to you, Karolyn, you must have been mislead if you think it the General’s choice to ‘withdraw’. I don’t think it was his choice rather that of the Academy, being repressed and forced to accept that premise. It’s more of the same kind of ‘trash’ we’ve all been seeing in the past, and that ‘It’s not politically correct to offend ANYONE’, in fact we are going overboard to accept ‘ANY’ alternate views and ‘PUNLICIZE’ them to the detriment of our moral and ethical values. When are we, as a Nation, going to ‘wake up and smell the roses’? The powers to be have been so intent, and I’m talking about the Prez, Secretary of State, DOJ, etc. we’ve been indoctrinated to see them as an ‘Alternative Life Style’, irregardless of ‘who’s doing the talking’, ‘What their background culture is’, and so forth and so on. We are being ‘forced’ to swallow the garbage from sooo many that’ it’s pathetic. I just hope we can stand the onslaught and take back ‘our country’ before it’s too late.

    • Buster the Anatolian

His withdrawing was akin to resigning to avoid being fired.

  • Huapakechi

This goes right along with the announcement of medals for ‘courageous restraint’ or the medals awarded to pentagon warriors and the creeping cultural stalinism that has infested our armed forces.

Recall when we smashed our enemies, eliminated their capability to make war and attack our citizens and our national interest? For some reason that has been gradually ‘eddykated’ out of our armed forces command since 1946. Would any of the celebrated commanders of past wars be considered fit and capable by today’s milquetoast pampered fops that have long forgotten.

    • 45caliber

Don’t blame our soldiers for the lack of efforts against our enemies. As a Vietnam vet, I can tell you that the real problem with this is the politicians. They do NOT want us to win. They want a war for various reasons (one of which is to act as a distraction to what they want to do) but don’t want a winner since the general in charge might want to take their place in office.

Eisenhower took the place of someone who had earned it! Imagine the horror! We can’t allow another military man that possibility!

  • Sirian

Everyone needs to get a copy of “SHARIAH: A Threat to America” by Frank Gaffney. Once you’ve read this you will understand why Lt.Gen. Boykin, many others also, understand what’s going on and why he withdrew from speaking. We have been infiltrated so much more than people realize.

  • http://None Jeryl

As an American, I believe that all citizens of this country deserve equal rights and treatment before the (Constitutional) law – including gays, Muslims, etc. And I believe in civil discourse with those with whom I disagree. As a Christian and a Constitutional conservative, however, I absolutely refuse to give up my personal convictions or to meet on some middle ground with those who hate my country and my God.

    • 45caliber

There are two ways – and ONLY two ways – to achieve freedom.

The first way to to grant everyone else the same freedom you have and want on the condition that they do the same thing. As an American, I have no problem with race, religion, etc. that is different than my own and I am willing to allow them here with the condition that they allow my own here.

The other way is to take freedom away from everyone else. Only you are free – everyone else must do as you say. This is called tyranny and there are many in our country that are pushing for this.

So … which do you prefer? And what do you intend to do when (not ‘if’) the people insist on taking away your freedom?

  • Ted Crawford

Isn’t it interesting just how many of these far left organizations boldly include the “American” adjective into their names? “A”CLU, one of the oldest and largest, founded and populated by Communists. It points out the simple mindedness of their followers. PFAW doubled down on this pratice by including the second most popular adjective, PEOPLE or PEOPLES as in the Peoples Republic of China!

  • silverknockworst

when are the AMERICAN people going to stand up and stop this nonsense from a handfull of pukes.

  • Brenda

While this country was founded on the tenent of religious freedom, I am distrubed by the trend to allow groups such a CAIR, PFAW, and others to be placed in a position of denying that very freedom. This continued giving in to the objection of such groups erodes the foundation of our country.
We need to wake up to this danger before CAIR and others have us under Shari law. Allowing another religion the freedom to practice their beliefs does not negate our rights to practice our religion.

  • former walmart person

Gotta love our soldiers. All the courage in the world to deploy to battlefields where they may die horribly in any one of thousands of different manners, but no courage to essentially say @#%#@% you to these groups. What are they afraid of? Being arrested? Being shelled by artillerly with chemical warheads?

GROW SOME BALLS, NOW. BALLS, PEOPLE, WE NEED BALLS AND LOTS OF THEM

    • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

      Dear former walmart person,

      Best wishes,

I get thrown in political prison, my goal is to die in anger on day one. I will then wait for all these bastards in Hell… As the terminator said in Terminator said in “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines: “Anger is more useful than despair”.

      • former walmart person

The Jews tied to avoid this as well. At least if they resisted at the final moment they would have died quickly then slowly starving over weeks and months in camps. By the time Jews went to the chambers it was a blessed end. I have gone 1 day without food and it is agnozing. Weeks without food, I am ready to eat raw earth worms.

      • Bert Cundle Sr.

    • Believer

Don’t forget, they are trained to follow orders. And who is giving orders? Our Islamofascist in Chief. That is exactly why this election is soooo important!

    • 45caliber

      former:

Our soldiers are not supposed to become politically oriented while they are in the service. If they were, there is too much chance that some general might be able to use them to set himself up like Colonel Nutjob of Libia did. That’s why they are set up the way they are.

      • former walmart person

What a load of crap. The commandants of all the various military services stress that the military can not discriminate against people on the basis of race, national origin, religious beliefs, now sexual orientation, and supposedely, political beliefs as well. In theory, a solider can hold certain political beleifs and exercise those beliefs and not be subjected to punishment. You just can’t attend rallies, etc. in uniform because you are essentially saying that the entire military feels this way when it is your own private belief. In the military you can hold and exercise policitcal beliefs but only when in civilian clothing and on your own free time.

At any rate, our overlords ignore the law when it serves them, so why can’t we the people ignore the law when it would better serve us?

      • Joe H.

        former,
WRONG!! Even as far back as when I served, if you attended a protest, you could be prosecuted for conduct unbecoming of a soldier in the military service, according the the uniform code of military of justice!! I know a guy that lost his rank and spent twenty days in the stockade for attending a sit-in at a local city hall in 1972!!

  • General “Bull” Krapper

Looks as if we not only have a Muslim in the “People’s House”, but now running our military institutions also. And all the so-called investigative journalists are where on this story? Oh yeah, probably doing some kind of report on the Kard-ass-hians. Good reporting, as usual, Ben. — Stay Well/Stay Safe/Stay Free

  • Kane Bittner

    @Karolyn
Trolling as usual and just “stirring” the pot enough to obfuscate the real issue. The big surprise to you would be, and I say “would be” because us Patriots just aren’t going to let it happen, is that if they ever were to “take over”, you would be one of the first ones to have your head removed by the muslims!

    • Wumingren

I doubt that she’d have her head removed at all. She’d convert to Islam and become the 10th wife of the local bandit chief operating in her part of town.

      • Tom Cook

I wonder what kind of disease the “wives” of these goat-shaggers contract. Mus are so scared of women that they make them wear tents then they go off and have at their barn animals.

      • Denise

If you read up on this cult, you’ll learn that the Prophet Muhammad was a pedophile. The only way he could get the permission to get his young wife was to tell the people that it came from Allah. As he got older he had a disease which caused his facial features especially to become hideous. Therefore, he made his young beautiful wives to cover from head to toe so other men would not try to take them away. The most common problem men seek help from clinics and hospitals is impacted penises. So I don’t think goats are the problem there. They treat women as property or toys to satisfy their every whim and desire. This is a religion founded on fraud and lies. Then you can also read about when they do have sex with a animal it is okay as long as they kill the animal right after or sell the animal to another village. They are never to drink milk from a cow or goat they have sex with. The honor killings and stonings are just further proof that the “progressive liberals” would be the first to lose their heads if Sharia Law was the law of the land.

      • Brian

It’s a good thing a Christian has never mugled little kids. Otherwise you might look foolish.

    • Karolyn

Why bother to post such BS?

      • Joe H.

        karolyn,
Another baseless opine???? Back it up with some FACTS. PROVE HIM WRONG, or are you just too lazy??

  • Doc Sarvis

This WOULD have been informative IF Mr. Crystal included what Boykin said that the groups he mentions object to. Of course, I do not expect Mr. Crystal’s pieces to be informative rather than myopic.

    • Patriot Missle

      Hey Doc,
Maybe you didn’t understand what the article was about. It points out that if your opinion is not to the liking of the islamofacist commie-liberal view then by way of C.A.I.R. your first amendment right as a U.S. citizen will fall under Sharia Law…Is that what you want?

      • Doc Sarvis

Boykin is still allowed to speak. My bet is he “withdrew” because the Army decided not to pay him to speak – their porogative. Again, not enough information to say.

      • Patriot Missle

        Hey Doc,
By General Boykin’s own words, he chose not to speak because of C.A.I.R.’s influence politically. C.A.I.R.’s say weighed very heavily about having Gen.Boykin speak and because Boykin believes in his heart that right is right, islamofacistism is wrong, he chose not to appease the left minded group by speaking, but rather by not speaking and visually leaving the true message in his heart.

      • Doc Sarvis

And still his right to speak is not taken away.

      • eddie47d

Christians also have their fanatics such as Boykin who is willing to kill Muslims like the the extremists in the Muslim camp want to kill Christians. I would say it’s time to ditch the extremists on either side and stop letting them drag us into war. Boykin isn’t defending the USA for all he wants to do is kill Muslims. We need freedom fighters in our military willing to stand up for our Constitution not cold blooded savages. If he wants to act like the enemy in his words and actions then I say go join them.I don’t need Boykin representing Christianity anymore than I would want the 9/11 hijackers representing the Muslim Faith.

      • ohoh

That’s like saying you’re going to be taxed excessively, but you have the right to work and earn a living.

      • Laith

If Boykin had made the same comments about Jews or Chinese, would he still be allowed to speak at West Point? If he made the comments about AlQaida or Hamas, there would not have been an issue. It is the content of speech not who it offends that caused West Point to withdraw the invitation.

      • Sirian

You haven’t the slightest idea as to why he withdrew Doc. All you can do is speculate and create any suitable reason that fits into that small nutshell of a head you wear. If you had any kahonas you could’ve seen Lt.Gen Boykin explain, point by point, why he withdrew from speaking on GBTV last night. Oh yeah, I know, GBTV is worthless to you even though you’ve never watched or listened to anything that happens to be on it. That’s what you call being objective? Probably so. Go sit in you corner of self describe intellectual superiority. Common sense abounds in that corner – it’s shown itself in your posts time after time!!

      • Doc Sarvis

I don’t spend my time sitting in front of a television. I base my statements, as implied, on the article posted by Mr. Crystal.

      • Joe H.

more like you base them on baseless opines, doc!!

      • libertytrain

actually doc, there’s quite a bit of info out there to answer your question instead of making absurd accusations. But of course, it’s easier to do smart alec comments rather than think.

      • Doc Sarvis

I base my statements, as implied, on the article posted by Mr. Crystal.

      • libertytrain

Seems peculiar to do so. Most of us do a little more research. What does TV have to do with research? Mine is seldom if ever on these days. News on it is so limited and so biased.

      • Doc Sarvis

Sirian pointed me to television resources and I replied to that.

      • Sirian

WRONG DOC, GBTV is on line – the internet – not standard TV. There ya go, you thought I was promoting watching something on TV while you didn’t have the slightest idea as to where GBTV originates. Drawing conclusions without knowing or having researched anything. Yep, fits into you form of thought.

      • Doc Sarvis

        Sirian,

I never saw a link so I assumed it was television. Is that not a reasonable assumption when the letters are GBTV?

      • Sirian

Well Doc, is it beyond your ability to search GBTV out on the web so you can see if it is one of the MSM networks or otherwise? Anymore, it doesn’t really matter if it says TV or not. You obviously have access to the web or you wouldn’t be here, now would you? I’ve run across different things that people have mentioned here that didn’t have a “link” provided and it took but a few seconds to find it. Didn’t matter which side it had come from – liberal or conservative. So again, with the utmost lacking of concern, you come up with some convenient excuse – typical. Get off you high horse and try GBTV.com. Is that good enough?

      • Karolyn

Doc – It’s Glenn Beck TV.

      • Nadzieja Batki

What are you using for a brain?

      • Nadzieja Batki

My question of “what are you using for a brain” was meant for something that calls himself Doc Sarvis.

      • Doc Sarvis

My brain. You should have learned about that in school.

      • 45caliber

        Doc:

As far as I can tell, you haven’t used that brain since grade school.

    • http://n/a tedsmith

      Hey Doc
Sounds like you are one of those lovers of sand######S, the ones who are rewarded w/virgins when they kill the satans (Christians),as so directed by thier holy book, koran,(terrorist manifesto). cair is nothing more than a terrorist organization. My wife lived in Middle East & during Kuwait invasion was a guest of Saddam for approx 6 mos.
Don’t attempt to blow smoke about these animals
      GO Allen West

      • Doc Sarvis

You’re wrong about that, for sure.

    • Tom Cook

doc, you salty old dog. How does that government tit you’re locked on to taste? Ben Crystal is too cool for you. Go wait for your government check and maybe swallow some broken glass. Thanks.

      • Doc Sarvis

You folks never fail me. More personal attacks with no substance to back it.

      • Karolyn

I know Doc. They can take a perfectly innocent posted opinion and respond to it with the most ridiculous, vile, rude unprovoked remarks. Just because one doesn’t agree with them!

      • Joe H.

        karolyn,
That’s the problem!! You nor Doc EVER post anything but baseless opines!! you never back up anything with PROOF!!!

    • Brian

It doesn’t matter why they object. Free speech is a cornerstone of the USA. It is ironic that they wont tolerate him exercising his rights because they find it intolerant. It’s hypocrisy.

  • EHeassler, USN-Ret.

Unfortunately, the lesson learned by the Cadets is, “If your true opinion might go against the grain of policy, PCness, or whatever, withhold it in favor of personal advancement and careerism.” They have just learned that integrity is a danger to their careers. When asked for their opinions in the future, they are likely to respond like turtles and pull back into the safety of their shells rather than stick their necks out proposing something outside the norm that just may be the type of honest input their commanders are looking for.

  • Karolyn

It was his choice to withdraw.

    • 101stRECON68

Karolyn are you really THAT ignorant, or are you just trolling as usual?

      • Ted Crawford

It helps to remember 101stRECON68, that Karolyn was part of the 60s hippy culture, you remember abundant drugs, free love, staggering around “looking for their heads”. The rest of us clearly saw where it was and attempted to help them with the simple instructions of “left hand on right ear, right hand on left ear and pull sharply”. It seems that even that was to complicated for many of them!

      • Old Henry

        Ted:

I grew up during that era and always figured they all wore sandals because they were not able to tie shoes. Plus when you never bathed shoes would give them foot rot.

      • 45caliber

        Old Henry:

I always figured the same thing. One of the biggest laughs I got during that time was when a couple of soldiers returning from Vietnam saw some girls on the other side of the street in Frisco and waved at them. The girls invited them to go down to a junk yard with them to “make a little love”. Since the men hadn’t even seen any American women in a year, they were excited. They started across the street … and the wind changed. The moment they got a whift of the smell of the girls, they decided to go somewhere else.

      • Joe H.

        Samurai,
About a day after I landed back in the land of round doorknobs and eyes, I had a girl proposition me. Her white(?) clothes were grey, she had a distinct odor, and she was very unkempt. I gave her a ten dollar bill and told her to go buy some soap, take a bath, and buy some clean clothes as I didn’t think the ones she had on would EVER come clean. She got real pizzed and a boyfriend sitting off to the side came over to give me a hard time. Well, when he picked himself up off the ground, he took her , the ten dollars, and walked off!!

      • Karolyn

THAT’S why you people are so closed-minded!! Afraid to think outside the box? And conservatives call liberals sheeple! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

      • Joe H.

No karolyn, we’ve seen the results of what YOU call thinking outside the box and the results make it too expensive!!!

      • Tom W.

Anything done outside of your box Karlolyn can’t be considered anything but extremely intelligent! I’m totally in awe of how easily self amused you are. (offensive words removed)

      • libertytrain

TomW, for all your comments about being a Christian, I am rapidly finding you very unrepresentative of Him in your comments to those you don’t agree with. Your rudeness speaks volumes.

      • Tom W.

Hey libertytrain, I’m sorry that my STANDING UP against those who would attempt to silence Christians by taking away our FREEDOM OF SPEECH offends your misconceived perception of what a TRUE Christian should or shouldn’t say. May I just say that I believe that you are sorely mistaken sir!!! Would things be as bad as they are today if Christians would speak out instead of tucking their tails between their legs and sticking their heads in the sand?!! You can’t have civil discourse with those who have no idea what that means!!!

Matt. 10:32-38 “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”

      • libertytrain

Tom, stand up and show your Christian values however, that doesn’t mean you have to demonstrate a mean streak or cruelty. You know better, you’ve said so yourself. Be a beacon not an eyesore.

      • Brian

Liberals AND conservatives are sheep. To be free you have to free your mind from the shackles of group think. Neither group has accomplished that.

      • Tom W.

libertytrain, if I didn’t know better, I’d say that you must be smitten by this Marxist! I refuse to back down from any antagonist!!! Male or female!

      • Tom W.

I hate to be redundant but you CAN’T have civil discourse with someone who has no clue what that means!!! Just like you CAN’T make peace with someone who wants you DEAD!!! What in the HELL are we arguing about here?!!

“Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” Luke 22:36 (KJV)

      • libertytrain

TomW you could have civil discourse. But unfortunately you’re prone to insults and no discussion – As JeffH would say, you can’t fix —-

      • Tom W.

You’ve done come off your tracks train!

      • libertytrain

        Better than going backwards.

      • Robert Smith

1… I’m a bit confused. How is offering a fact “troling?”

        Rob

      • ohoh

When “facts” are presented out of context, without regard to the other facts and circumstances, like those also revealed in the story, that’s when. This is what my children’s teachers do to indoctrinate them each day as they cherry pick “facts,” even crow about them coming from “original sources,” to paint the most repugnant distortions about our country and its history and leaders imaginable. Context and credibility are lost on partisans and others, like our children in schools where the toll on their world views has become all too apparent.

      • 45caliber

        Rob:

I can’t see why trolling would confuse you. You’ve been doing it for years.

      • Tom W.

        Ohhh!!! LOL, LOL, LOL!

      • Tom W.

Yes, RECON, she truly is THAT ignorant! Not only is she ignorant, she just seems to boil over with shear blabbering incompetence!!!
Thank you for your service sir!

    • Jim

Do you really believe that? If he spoke what do you think the fall out would have been?

      • Patriot Missle

        Jim,
You and Karolyn should get you brains together and form one whole brain. The outcome would have been that someone is standing up to these islamofacist and that we will not take their B.S. like the rest of the commie-liberals that are in the U.S.

      • Jim

I don’t understand what your saying? I asked the question does she really believe that the speaker step down by his choice. I then ask if he spoke what does she think would happen. Maybe you need to get the brain you feel I need.
Just to let you know I wish he would have spoken not and not caved to the pressure of West Point.

      • Brian

Like left wing extremists right wing extremists can’t think beyond thier narrow view of the world. People who challenge thier world view are to be criticised and insulted. It’s the only defense mechanism they seem capable of using.

      • Tom W.

        Gone Country!

      • Nadzieja Batki

No fallout would have occurred. If you stand up to bullies (of any variety) they fold up because they don’t expect anyone to stand up to them. You may incur a bruise or two but that is a given if you stand up to bullies.

      • 45caliber

        Nad:

It wouldn’t even have come down to that at this place. After all, it was a prayer breakfast. You can bet that no Islamic people would shot up there to listen and cause trouble. No, what they wanted was to simply cause problems for the Christians there and insist that they had the right to censor anyone who might accidently speak out against their own goals.

    • Patriot Missle

      Hey Karen,
Are you for real??? HE WITHDREW!!!? You better wake up to reality or one day soon you will find out what you will be withdrawn from.

      • Karolyn

You old guys crack me up!

      • Joe H.

        karolyn,
OLD GUYS???? Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black???? At your age he could be quite a bit YOUNGER than you!!

      • JW

Joe H., I’ve been reading these comments on this blog and it is frustrating to see people over and over rebel against truth. Our heavenly Father in Matthew 10:14 lets us know it is better to shake the dust off our feet and move on. If the rebellious want to know God (Yahweh), He will reveal Himself to them. At this point it is up to them to cry out to Him. Meanwhile we all have better things to do with our time.

    • mark111

Really? Do you know this for absolute certainty?

What happens to this country, and the world, after the underpinnings of Christian faith have been removed? Remember, before we got into big government “taking care” of the poor, the churches were the dominant organizations doing this. Many did it without forcing conversion on the people they helped trusting that example was the best way of spreading the faith. How many Muslim organizations or countries did we see helping Haiti or Thailand or Japan?

What happens when we graduate officers from our military academies who lack a firm basis in Christian faith? Will they be more likely to follow the dictates of a faithless, power-hungry president and turn the military on the populace to enforce government will? Look at the Islamic nations making buddies with China. One would think that since Christians, Muslims, and Jews all have a monotheist belief system Islam would feel more closely tied with Christians (and even Israelis) than they would with atheism.

      • Robert Smith

        Helping????

Check out: “The international effort to aid Haiti by individuals, Islamic relief organisations and the governments of Muslim-majority countries reflects a proactive generosity and empathy espoused by the Prophet Muhammad and the teachings of the Qur’an. Charity, in fact, is one of the five obligations for Muslims, and Muslim organisations have been working alongside other faith-based groups to fulfil this duty.”

        That’s from: http://www.commongroundnews.org/article.php?id=27166&lan=en&sp=0

I just googled for Haiti. I’m optimistic that you can find efforts in the other places you mentioned.

        Rob

      • Karolyn

Christianity does not have a corner on the market for people with character and morals.

      • Joe H.

        karolyn,
not bragging but if you check, you will find that Christian nations, by far, give more, volentarily, than non-christian nations!! Proven FACT!!

      • Brian

We are not a Christian nation. The First Amendment prohibits it.

      • Brian

Why do you religious extremists always, and I mean always, equate atheism with dictatorship? I am an atheist and based on the posts on this thread I have more respect for individual freedom than any of you Christians.

  • http://naver samurai

Well said Ben. It is true that the lib, gay loving, baby killing, marxists have taken us away from our Christian founding and embrace these ignorant fringe groups. The general should attend ad tell these groups to debate him, if they have the guts to do it. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

    • skip

What has taken away our country is the Citizens United decision and the SuperPacs – we are all finished as individuals and no servants of the very rich, and now our presidential candidates want the rich to be even richer. Reward the true job creators, but not the swindlers and money changers. For an extremist casino magnate to control the outcome of an election with his billions, let alone anonymous donors putting millions into elections will bring and has brought us down. It is not the government who is fascist – it is these billionaires who have bought the government. Kiss your keesters goodbye – the Koch Brothers own them, and they won’t stoop to wipe them, I’ll assure you.

      • ccfonten

Knew you were a wacko lib from the beginning, but your swipe at the Koch brothers clinched the deal. Do hope you realize how much big monies are being dumped into odumbo’s re-election campaign. And believe me, it is big bucks.

      • Old Henry

And as in ’08, most of them are probably illegal donations.

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest rhonda

        Amen!

      • eliwhit

Along with the other attributes that you pointed out about Skip. Does his handle indicate anything to you, think he might be a skippy from the obamy flaming #ags!?????

      • hitthedeck

When you associate the Koch brothers with the evil of the Super Pac I assume you are speaking of the republican candidates but on the other hand what is the standing of the Super Pac donors on the democratic side. Could the money donated be the missing stimulus money that can not be accounted for and dollars from the Muslim Brotherhood? There is also the Union that takes money from their members and gives to the democrats even though a percentage the members are republican or independent voters. Is one corruption worse than the other or are they equal?

      • Chris

        Skip,

As you can see from the four or five who responded….don’t expect any christian responses from theses non-christian, christians. They are the most bigoted group around.

    • beaj

They talk about christians have no tolerance.
All these other people that believe differ’s from
the beleaf of christians do not have to be
tolerant of others. double standard for them.
wheather they like it or not I think the world is better off
with God as thier leader. we would not have all this
Raceism. AND PEOPLE WOULD HAVE A BETTER LIFE.
WITH OUT ALL THE GREED,YOU OWE ME,STEALING,AND MURDER
GOING ON TODAY.WHEN ONE OF YOU KILL ME I WILL BE SITTING IN HEAVEN BESIDE MY HEAVENLY FATHER. WHEN YOU DIE WHERE WILL YOU BE????

      • Nadzieja Batki

Better define which God and Christ you are talking about, the one from the Bible or the ones people made up.

      • Nadzieja Batki

Better catch up or start reading the Dave Hunt books which explain what peoples’ belief systems are, such books as the God Makers, Seduction of Christianity to name two.

      • Wayne

        There all MADE UP!!!!!

      • Paul in Texas

Wayne.. One thing made UP that you’ve believed gullibly is that somehow nothing became something, that particles of matter from explosions combined… Became single cell organisms, then from that became.. Thru millions of years, complex systems on multitudes of differing species with different DNA and different systems… Many of which are on opposite spectrums of function. Your eye.. Your circulation system, your brain, your entire human functions are just a bit different than a daffodil or an oak tree. But you want to live your meaningless life thinking GOD could not have done this. I’ll believe a lie before I believe in a GOD creator that has a purpose behind all you see and experience on this earth. The fool is yourself. The bible says you are a fool for denying GOD in all I just mentioned. You would rather live the rest of your life believing in the imposibility of an exploded creation that you have now become part of.. Rather than listen to your creator tell you. I know who you are. I knew who you were going to be before you were in the womb. I have great plans for you. Choose you this day, whom you will serve. The creator GOD or your own simpleton stubbornness bent on being right in your own mind. There is a GOD. He is the GOD whom has given you redemption that you don’t deserve. You are a wayward fool and sinner and you know it. Time to turn your heart after wisdom before it is too late, and the GOD who created this EARTH and you must also live up to his nature of JUSTICE. His Justice says death and permanent separation from GOD.. Meaning you will one day.. Have a last chance to listen to GOD. Then he will.. Out of His justice, place you where he has put all the disobediant earth dwellers who would not listen to his CALL. Choose wisely and read the WORD of GOD… Or remain a fool bent on the fable that you came from nothing and thus have no reason to justify your own share of wickedness you throw at this earth…

      • Karolyn

There is a Universal Intelligence that some might call God, but all of the other stuff that comes with believing in the God of the Bible is just the word of man. There is also probably intelligent life in the Universe other than earthlings. Just look at the paintings of the early peoples. Do you think they just made that up? How did they build the pyramids? If you watch the movie 2012 (not the one that was in the movies) on YouTube, they talk of the fact that no crane that exists on Earth today could lift the blocks used to make the pyramids. There is just too much evidence pointing to the fallacies of Christianity. That is why I left. Too many questions, not enough answers. Too many varying translations and interpretations of Biblical writings.

      • libertytrain

Karolyn, our dear Claire has lost her Bob. Please keep her in your thoughts.

      • 45caliber

        Karolyn:

They didn’t need a crane to lift those stones. They used ramps.

I’m sorry you feel that way about God. I will pray for you.

      • Karolyn

Oh, liberty, thank you for telling me. It didn’t sound too good the last time she posted. I will certainly hold her in my thoughts and prayers.

      • Karolyn

45 – People have tried replicating the same results with ramps and have failed. I think it was on National Geo I saw that. I believe in the movie, they said some of the blocks in the Mayan pyramids were estimated to be in the 10s of thousands of pounds

And don’t be sorry for me. I am the most spiritual I have ever been in my life and feel totally free of having to worry about every little thing I do (or I might go to hell). The God I believe in loves us all just the way we were made and would never punish us for being who we were made to be. I’m the one who has to b careful who I talk to about what I believe because Christians are generally so intolerant – and I live in the Bible Belt.

      • Joe H.

        karolyn,
I’m going to speak on your level of thought. you say you are more spiritual now than you have ever been, and that is “nice”. you say all the other “stuff” of God is just the writings of man? Well, lady what if you are wrong? Let’s face it, you are not infallible, not all knowing of all things. how spiritual are you going to be on judgement day if you ARE wrong? Remember lady, ETERNITY IS A LOOOONNNG TIME!!!! What if, as I have maintained here, the bible IS written by man, but under devine guidance? Remember, it says in the bible “If you deny me, I will deny YOU!” The word of God is part of him, therefore you deny him! Good luck, lady, you’re gonna need it!!

      • eliwhit

Now Nadzieja see what you have done !? You have brought out the reptiles crawling from their athiestic holes in the ground! Wayne go on back in your hole and hibernate some more to see what you eventually will evolve into OK! This article is above your abilities to understand since this is conversation carried on by humans, Not Snakes or other evolving reptiles such as your belief! If you evolved or came to be by some quirk of nature then you definitely should try to come out of the hole and at least climb a tree to get a banana!!

      • Tom W.

May God reach down and touch Claire and her family in this time of loss with His comforting healing touch, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen and Amen. Rest in peace Bob.

      • eddie47d

People for the American Way is not un-American and Boykin is extremely anti-Muslim. Why would you want someone who spreads religious hated to speak at a Christian prayer breakfast? I see some of you want to spread the usual morning cheer with misinformation and your own brand of extremism.

      • http://al@bellaproducts.com al metcalf

eddie, please read and learn before posting. Specifically, read the Koran, then the Torah and then the Gospel.
If you cannot recognize the difference and pick out the one which is against humanity as humanity, then you need to start over at grade one, and this time pay attention to the lessons you are taught.
        Bless you and pay attention…

      • Karolyn

The point is why speak ill of anybody? It serves no purpose other than inciting to violence – and that goes for either side. We are really all on the same side – all brothers and sisters. As a Christian you HAVE to believe that, since we all came from Adam and Eve, right?

      • eddie47d

I have read the Bible and don’t always like what Christianity has done over the centuries. This is not an endorsement of the Muslim Faith but an observation of how both religions behave.

      • Joe H.

        karolyn,
Please don’t insult the believing folks here by denying the Bible and then trying to use it for reference!! you don’t believe in it, so don’t quote from it!

      • Brian

Maybe the so called Christians should read the Gospel and live it before condemning the rest of us to hell. Not one of the “Christians” posting here are acting in a way that Jesus would act. Nothing but hate and condemnation. Didn’t your Messiah command you to love your enemies? Not American Christians. As Ghandi once said “I like your Christ. I do mot like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ.”

      • Tom W.

        Their eyes are blinded al;

        2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (KJV)
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

But the only way that their eyes will be opened is that they must believe that He is first!

        Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

eddies problem is that he’s blaming all the atrocities commited by MEN in Christ’s name on Christianity. I did the same thing before I came to believe. I’ve always had a soft spot for the American Indians, I used to say how arrogant it was of the white man to come over here and take these peoples lands and force our God down their throats while denouncing theirs! I used to be anti-Semitic in the sense that I thought, the nerve of these people to call themselves God’s chosen people! I used to be one of them until God for some reason opened my eyes! I really feel guilty about that sometimes because when He opened my eyes, I wasn’t looking for Him! I was looking for something, but it wasn’t for Him. I was totally saved by His grace and Psalm 38 is like my life story. Now that I look back, I see how blessed I was because the Bible says that we are without excuse!!!

        Romans 1:18-25 (KJV)
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

I would’ve told you that I was a atheist, although looking back now, I was an agnostic. I would pray, “God, if You’re really there…” I also used to make blastphemist egotistical statements like, “Man is man’s own god, if we’d ever open our eyes…blah, blah, blah… ” Do you see why I feel guilty and was given an undeserved advantage?!! Thank you Lord!!!

      • Bert Cundle Sr.

God was Racious! Black People were put in Africa, Chinese were put in China. Indians in America. ETC… But going against their familes, Spralled out to Concur others!

Are you a fool, or just a brain washed idiot? Who is the world gave you these ideas or did you just invent them on your own?

      • http://al@bellaproducts.com al metcalf

Please, please read the Book of Life. Read the stories of the Tower and why the people were separated. Think as you read.
People throughout the world are all the same. They are all of the same creation, we are all brothers. We at our first breath of life are the recievers of the knowledge of Christ. As God said, I will put myself into their foreheads and hearts. Not just one race but all races, we are all of God.
All of the trials and tribulations are the work of Satan, that most perfect of Angels that went astray. We only have to follow ten simple laws of God and all society will thrive. Is this really too much to ask of man??

      • Honestly

        What????????

      • Honestly

This post was for Bert “What?????”

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest rhonda

        I agree with you 100%.

    • Bert Cundle Sr.

PRAYER: Should be keept to ones self!

      • Homer

Bert you do err, in that you have NO idea what prayer can and will do if prayed often and w/a right heart! Before 1964 there was a 20 word prayer that ask Gods’ protection upon us and our scholls etc and then we got that protection, where spit wads and shenanegans were all the problems that were apart of a school, and a paddle from the teachre/principle took care of it! NOW we have to have metal detectors and there are drugs and guns etc and drop rate is tremendous! Just look at History from 1962/3 to present: the day they took prayer out of school the school system took a nose dive in all aspects! DON’T tell me prayer should be kept to ones self, sir, As a chaplin aboard ship I PRAYED OPEMNLY and out loud on a loudspeaker! that changed the whole outlook of the Navy vessel! YOU only pray for people you love or care about and want to see do right or get help! YES SIR, YOU ARE WRONG!! I PRAY for you, now you know!!!

      • Karolyn

Prayer is not exclusive to Christians. I am not a Christian, yet I pray and do believe that prayer changes things. What is prayer but energy, and positive energy expended brings back positive results.

      • Chris Schilke

Karolyn, you probably won’t get about to reading this as it’s very late and this article is probably the last thing on your mind now. You are right, prayer, thought, words and action are all energy forms. Doing good, no matter what you call yourself, will always produce a good effect. Sometimes that effect is nothing more than a cancellation of a bad effect but, that is still good.
        Chris

      • Karolyn

Yes, I read it Chris. Good post.

      • Tom W.

I’ve got bad news for both of ya, and I guess that i’m going to be accused of being intolerant, but your prayers are falling on deaf ears Karlolyn and Chris!!!

        John 14:6 (KJV)
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

“Tolerence is the last virtue of a dying society.” – Aristotle

        (offensive sentence removed)

      • Bert Cundle Sr.

Well… It seams as if you think you are smarter than GOD! FOOL…
Are you trying to impress others to think that you have an inside track to God?

      • Joe H.

        Bert,
you are the fool if you add to Gods words the same way you add to Als. NOWHERE did he say he had an inside track to God, nobody DOES! He was most gracious to you and promised to pray for you, the same way he would if his child or wife were ill and wanted Christ to intervene on their behalf. I believe prayers said from the heart and not the head are answered most of the time. Sometimes, God has different plans for you. This is the reason that in some instances in accidents all are killed but one person, sometimes the one least deserving in most minds. god has plans for that person. Open your heart as well as your mind and you will eventually see it.

      • Joe H.

Excuse me, I should have said Homer instead of Al.

      • http://personaliberty.com joem

Homer thank you for praying for all of us God knows we need it.and you are 100% right since prayer has been taken out of schools and most everything else in america we’ve been circling the bowl. but isn’t it wonderful that the God we serve will give most every being a chance to repent. and i pray they do.
God bless us and our country.!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Honestly

        AMEN!!!

      • Tom W.

It’s no wonder that the kids are acting like animals Homer, after all that’s all they’ve been taught that they are for going on 50 yrs. now!

      • Homer

P.S. Bert, I’ll bet IF the situation warranted it, and you were in dire distress, I’ll bet you’d be calling God Openly and OUT LOUD!! OH my God would surely be upon your lips!!!

      • Bert Cundle Sr.

Every once in a while… I Yell: GOD-DAMNIT!!! Others tell me not to curse, or take the lords name in vane. ( Showing their Dumbness.) When I yell/ say God Damnit! It is a prayer of angush.

      • Will

        Bert,
I have, in the last 25 years of following Christ, used our creator’s position and ability as an exclaimation of anguish. That action is a sin that I have repented of, so my sin would not bring my condemnation. It is required to repent of all evil action or be found walking in darkness and separated from our creator. A terrible day it will be for all walking in darkness when our savior returns for those who choose to accept salvation from sin and damnation.
        Will.

Prayer should be whatever and whenever you wish it to be. Aloud or silent it is up to you. We all pray everyday and many times each day without specific knowledge of praying. Do you ever say “I hope I am not late for this appointment’? Who are you hoping to? Is this not asking for some special favor for a time?
I sometimes wonder, if with each breath we do not ask silently, for another. Life is a mystery and death is still more…

Until the early ’60s, the South was solidly Democrat and had been since long before the Civil War. But then Johnson and friends discovered they could get block voting by minority groups if they gave them some “free” stuff. They immediately began to cater to every minority group they could find.

The conservative Southern voters immediately objected. After all, why should we pay taxes so someone else can sit at home and take things easy? Isn’t the definition of slavery the act of working so someone else can get the benefits of your work at no cost to them?

The Demos refused to recognize that and then were amazed that so many Southern voters began to vote for the Republicans. They still express their amazement and try to insist that they are really the party of “the middle class”.

Now a days, there isn’t much difference between them, unless they are a constitutional conservative republican. There are only two that I know of and that is Rand and Ron Paul!! There are a small pocket of repubs that are somewhat close but still have a way to go.
