SO glad to hear what the Ga. judge did. Now let’s get the rest of the country behind this move.
As for him cutting the military budge and personel…
My guess is that some of that money will be pocketed, OF COURSE.
But me thinks the rest will go for drones, and why not? They have no conscience, and the operators really don’t either. And when whomever is done blasting whatever country to hades, they can fly them back here for use on all of us. Sound crazy? So does fast and furious, and NDAA. I so hope these crooks in office are booted and dealt with as they should be.
In the meantime, wouldn’t it be great to see a Ron Paul/Judge Napalitano ticket?

    • Deerinwater

Hmm? An Alabama judge has just recently thrown a similar case out.

It’s is say that some 50% of republicans fail to support and don’t abide by this “birther” position, so that leaves the issue left to be championed by a noise radical few.

That it has failed to work for them to date does not seem to discourage them.

They say; Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different results in a sign of insanity. I don’t personally believe that but it sure is stupid.

      • JUKEBOX

Obama has sure proved you right. Just look at the stimulus money he has put into Solyndra and the other bankrupt green companies.

      • Deerinwater

I know that it hard to see the future from here. I have been engaged in energy management for sometime now, hmmm ? 1984. We have came a very long way since then. It been rocky with lots of failures and disappointments. I’ve invested in products and spent years getting a haircut. It’s referred to as venture capitalism and there is no guarantees.

But if I hadn’t jumped in when I did, I wouldn’t be riding todays wave and have this wealth of knowledge that I apply everyday.

If you think that every horse should be a winner, you are not being very realistic and it’s best that you work for someone else where it’s safer for you to cope with life and the changing times.

  • Lynne

Not exactly a pro-Paul vid, but good enough to forward to my sister and her husband. I’ve been forgetting all about forwarding Bob’s emails. Everyone *needs* to be educated and shaken awake! Ron Paul 2012!

Get people to look at the FAKE birth certificate that Barry has online. Use this link. Zoom in as much as possible and look at the “1″ on the end of the serial number being different/pasted in. Look at the “signature” at the bottom where there’s a “nose”, “eye” and “laughing mouth” on the “A” of “Alvin”, the mouth LAUGHING at all the folks who think Barry is for real:

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2011/04/27/president-obamas-long-form-birth-certificate

It will take less than a minute to confirm what I say. He’s already off the Georgia ballot for not going to court there. Get him off the rest of the states!

    • Liberal Dog

You still think…Obama’s Birth Certificate is Fake…Funny..HA HA…

        an exert from you link;

” About that: (A) The credit for the auto industry bailout (misbegotten as it was) doesn’t belong to Obama. The process was announced by George W. Bush in December 2008, with the Obama Administration merely expanding upon it later. (B) Ford’s investments may be heartening, but they don’t have any business in this speech, as Ford was the only one of the big three automakers not to take a federal bailout.”

according to this, Bush is the guilt dog Sir.

so what point are you attempting to make?

      • Vigilant

And try to find anyone on this forum who thinks Bush did the right thing.

“so what point are you attempting to make?”

      • Liberal Dog

Bush did start the bailout Process…that is the truth…If the truth matters to some…???

      • http://naver sook young

And Obama expanded it to new heights. So what are you trying to say Liberal Dog? Thank you.

  • Average Joe

    As usual Ben…Great stuff!!!

    Ron Paul/Andrew Napolitano 2012!!!!!

Anything else is “more of the same” the choice is yours!.

    • Tom W.

Now that would be an interesting combination AJ! And John Bolton for Secretary of State, huh?!!

      • Sirian

Wouldn’t it be a hoot if Judge Napolitano were to run out his contract with FOX and then move to GBTV?. . :)

      • Christin

        Tom and AverageJoe,

Now that’s a three man ticket I could vote for… great Constitutional Conservatives follow the (good) Rule(s) of Law.
America would be paradise in no time, prosperous and productive and FREE!

    • Sirian

It really would be great Average Joe to see Judge Napolitano running. He holds a true wealth of Constitutional common sense over Obummer.

  • Alex Frazier

I hope everyone here realizes that Senator Rand Paul, due to his recent experience, is in the unique position to do something that none of us can. As per existing laws, viz. the Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act, had any one of us had that encounter with the TSA, we’d never be heard from again. For refusing the search, we would be branded as suspicious of terrorist activity and indefinitely detained. It’s only because he’s a Senator that he was able to walk away from it.

I hope he makes the fight and tears down the TSA and the NDAA.

    • Deerinwater

That was an interesting story. Paul is suspecting that the scanner themselves are programmed to trigger a full body search in a indiscriminate fashion and void any criteria other then random numbers pulled out an electronic hat. Leave it possible that a 98 old old woman in a wheelchair and blatter bag could fall victim to body cavity search.

Hold the phone, just a minuet, we’re talking about the smartest pres. in the last two centuries. He is also the commander in chief of our military so give credit where credit is due.. He has the greatest strategy for knowing how to run our defence system Army Navy Marine (corps} , that is a deceased Marine. and air force.. You just do not see the brilliance in the moves. How he so fearlessly led the navy seals to get Bin Ladin and replaced the F15 fighter jet with a prop driven fighter plane built in Brazil or some secret place. When they enter enemy air space with a slow prop driven plane and the enemy scrambels their jets to attack they will immediately over shoot the slower one and mass midair collisions, wiping them out without wasting ammunition. Of course they have yet to figure out how to make batteries last long enough to get that plane back home … but with the greenie think tank ,no problem. the smartest pres for the last 200 yrs. didnt have to waste his time in the military or West Point. So just quit picking on him it might hurt his feelings,,ya hear now?

    • JUKEBOX

I wonder if he would want his Air Force One to be escorted by these “GREEN FIGHTERS”.

      • Tom W.

Well, I must admit that he’s smarter than what I give him credit for! Man, what a genius!!! Well I’m prouder than what Michelle was when he first got elected!!!

    • Deerinwater

I don’t know about all of that. But unlike his processor, he has shown the ability to frame a problem, dip into a pool of talent, give the right people the latitude and resources that brings about affordable results.

Obama told us on his first days, that his first order of business was to locate and extract some American Justice from Osama. He kept to his word and didn’t let up until the job was done. If Bush had done the same, I’d feel differently about him today, in spite of all of his bumbling. I could overlook it.

      • JUKEBOX

Deer, the pool he has dipped into is contaminated with corruption that the EPA couldn’t clear up.

      • Deerinwater

perhaps, but he didn’t make Washington and works with what is available much like everyone else.

      • Liberal Dog

You know.. Deer… Obama couldn’t possibly…get anything right…. even if many of the Policies were started by Bush and carried forward by Obama…No matter what he does…or doesn’t do…LOL

      • http://naver sook young

Right, I too didn’t like that very much but I must confess, I’m not privileged to all the facts and morning national security briefing.

So I’m left to cowboy up and accept leadership that I question and look for a window that it and affirmative act might both be dissolved.

      • Tom W.

sook, Do you know who wrote the Patriot Act? Non other than our current vice president!!! That’s right, Joe “Spit your foot out” Biden! He wrote the Patriot Act following the the bombing of the Murrah Fed. Bldg. in Oklahoma City. The Bush Administration simply enacted the act. But it is a good example to show that our liberties have suffered attacks from both sides of the aisle!!! There are Republican Progressives also and are every bit as dangerous as their Democratic counter parts! Both sides are guilty of trying to undermine the precious freedoms promised in our founding documents!

      • Tom W.

Better pray that God can overlook you Deer!!! Well it’s time to get ready for church, I’ll pray for ya son!

      • Deerinwater

Maybe you should consider looking for a new church home Tom, if you think you might qualify as an example of applied Christian principles. Clearly you are in great need of guidance and understanding.

      • Vigilant

Deer says, “If Bush had done the same, I’d feel differently about him today, in spite of all of his bumbling. I could overlook it.”

And I might feel a little different about Slick Willy if he had terminated/captured Bin Laden when he had the opportunity but bumbled it. What documents do you think Sandy “Burglar” absconded with from the National Archives? They were the definitive proof of what I’m saying.

      • Liberal Dog

And Reagan could have gotten osama…when he recruited him to fight the Russians too…And Clinton knew he was going to blow up the Trade Towers…LOL

      • http://naver sook young

Actually, Osama recruited himself and wasn’t hired by President Reagan to do anything. The only thing we di was to give them weapons to fight the Soviets. They were Soviets at that time and not Russians. Please check your facts and post sources. Than you.

    • Tom W.

Look… Let me be clear…. I’m the boss and you lemmings are going to take it, you’re going to like it, and you’re going to smile while you’re getting it!!!…. Do I make myself clear?!

  • Karolyn

Ben just pulls stuff out of his hat. Case in point, GM is once again the largest auto maker in the world, has paid off half of what we loaned them and is hiring 1600 new workers.
    http://www.freep.com/article/20120119/BUSINESS0101/120119015/GM-again-the-world-s-largest-automaker

    • leon

Yea, they said it was paid back two months after they got the money. Notice auto sales figures have not had the popular news headlines that they used to befor the rip-off. Use your head(common sense) not media prop. Obom would be touting every new job of GM if there were any. You are as likely to get your money back from GM as the stock holders who held before the rip. Good luck!

      • Karolyn

My bad – It’s Chrysler that’s hiring 1600. Here’s ABC World News about the economy getting better. I don’t care what you think about the MSM, ABC is on top of things and does some great investigative reporting and exposing shady dealings in politics, among other arenas.

      • Karolyn
      • Warrior

And the facts are if gm and chrysler went out of business tomorrow, Ford, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes, Kia would continue to manufacture cars. Shame on them for having successful business plans.

Now, go take your brain in for service because it obviously has a shorted circuit.

      • Deerinwater

and the facts are , that if Gm and Mopar went defunct, there be many thousand more AMERICANS OUT OF A JOB. Local gas stations, cafes, dinners, and retailers , utilities and support companies and vendors would soon follow.

And that’s a lead pipe cinch that you seem most willing to ignore for some reason or you fail to explain.

      • Warrior

        Right dufusunderwater,
and if we had a flat tax, think of all the accountants and tax attorneys that would have to find a “productive job”. My buick is still made in germany, so what’s your point?

      • Deerinwater

If you have no grasp of the topic, my point would allude you, seems rather certain does it not?

Deer Bob–I remember all the Chevys my husband has had during the last 55 years. A few months ago I gave my son my ’69 Rally Sport Camaro. It has hideaway headlights, dark metallic grey with a black vinyl roof. My husband bought that Camaro for $3600 brand new. The muscle cars were great. I like a bigger car, those dang little ones are a pain in the butt.

You do know what the term propaganda means don’t ya Karlolyn?! Anything coming outta the mouth of CFR lieutenant Diane Sawyer qualifies as such! I’ll give ‘em this, they are persistent!!! I just wish they’d allow me to see things outta their rose colored glasses, oh no I don’t neither!!! I like being able to see things as they truly are!
How’s your 401K doin’ Karlolyn? Oh that’s right, you probably recieve a “Mother’s Day” check every month!

      • Deerinwater

Tom, you are being overly too familiar without being lobbied.

I too, was once a space violator. I knew no different. You need to change your ways if you have plans to succeed in the social world and build lasting relationship.

        Do “your” work.

      • Tom W.

Did anyone ask you for your overly estimated self-worth opinion Deer?!! As far as getting along in a social setting I’d like to invite you to a crayfish boil sometime Deer, I just know that everybody would just be truly delighted to listen to your leftist propaganda!!! Karolyn, how is the economy getting better? unemployment is still at 8.8% after reaching a record 10.1%.most experts say that unemployment is actually 18-20% because the people who have used up their benefits are no longer counted.we have lost 12 million jobs under Obama.in his State of Union speech he claims that they created 2.3 million new jobs but he omits the fact that these are service related jobs that mostly pay min. wages. He also failed to tell Americans that they issued 3 million visas for aliens to work in this country in 2010.do the math we’re still at least 10 million jobs in the hole.the economy improving??? lol

      • http://personallibertydigest J Worthington

I’m glad someone has finally pointed out the fact about the work visas being given out by the government, with the unemployment so high it just doesn’t make sense!

The U.S. economy will grow about 2.3% in 2012, a bit faster than the 1.7% pace in 2011.
Consumers are finally loosening the purse strings after four years of saving more to restore wealth lost in the housing crash and the 2008 stock market drop. Even those with sizable debt are now willing to dip into savings to buy essentials, including big-ticket items such as cars when their clunkers reach the end of the road.
Job creation is picking up, and businesses are investing in new equipment to expand production after several years of slowly increasing production to work off spare capacity. Fears of a severe financial crisis in Europe are lower. U.S. exports to Europe will get trimmed but not slashed as the recession there continues to shape up as mild and not severe. Finally, housing will be a small plus to the

All I hear is complaining about the bad things. That just ives them more power. When one concentrates on good, one receives good. Law of attraction. And the same goes for the economy. If people didn’t listen to complainers and pundits, the would be more positive, resulting in positive changes. If more people started spending the money they have instead of holding onto it out of fear, the economy would come back faster. People in general are just scared sheep.

I have been there. Up until 1.5 years ago I was out of work for four yeas other than odd jobs. I could only collect unemployment for 6 months. Even now, I don’t know if I will have a job after June, but I’m not scared, because I know that I will make it by my talents and wits. (Plus at least I’m getting my little SS check.) Where I live, the recession started way before the country-wide one. Instead of bitching and complaining about the economy, I am one who takes action!

      • Deerinwater

They insist that you live your life in fear too! It’s called “Spread the Misery” They want you to make decisions based on “fear” and want to take away your “hope”. They will condescend, demean and belittle your hope Karolyn. Suggesting that you are blind and have your head in the sand or somewhere’s else. (as they seem to9 take delight speaking of popping sounds)

But in truth it is they that have stuck their heads in places no head should ever go. A place where there is little hope to be offered but where only canned programmed propaganda exist, where defeat is disguised as success and failure a victory and “fear” reigns supreme. A place where, “I have met the enemy and it is I” does not exist.

      • Tom W.

wayne, now you’re not accusing this administration of skewing the numbers now are ya?!! Our beloved POTUS would never allow that to happen! Would he?…

      • Tom W.

Deer, WITF are ya smokin’ dude?!! The same thing that Demi was? You better lay off, your brain is already toast! When the whip comes down in Europe, your going to finally see that all these numbers that y’all are touting here are nothing but smoke and mirrors!!! As Stevie Ray said, “It’s time to get ready for the storm!!!”

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWLw7nozO_U

        Oh, play that guitar son!!!

      • Vigilant

Karolyn says, “All I hear is complaining about the bad things. That just gives them more power. When one concentrates on good, one receives good. Law of attraction. And the same goes for the economy.”

Yes, Karolyn, dream on with you New Age positive vibes theories. You remind me of Professor Pangloss in Voltaire’s “Candide” who, in spite of whatever amount of sh*t came down the pike, always said “this is the best of all possible worlds!”

No, my dear, there is no Santa Claus, and Pollyanna optimism is not the cure for our economic ills.

“If more people started spending the money they have instead of holding onto it out of fear, the economy would come back faster.”

And how do you propose the unemployed do that? Food and energy costs, something the USG in its duplicity does not include in inflation stats, are beginning to go through the roof. Obama & Co. have made it almost impossible for startup small businesses, and Jeffrey Immelt, the “Jobs” czar, racks up profits and employs the majority of his workers overseas.

And do you think that, just possibly, the 2011 housing market, the worst in history since stats were accumulated, was the result of people not having enough resources to purchase? You can’t start spending money you don’t have.

US corporations are sitting on TRILLIONS of dollars worth of cash. It’s no secret, except perhaps to you and Bob Wire, that this cash will remain on the sidelines as long as the Obama regime continues to foster an environment of business uncertainty. Uncertainty in the levying of new taxes, in the face of burgeoning and suffocating regulation, in the squandering of taxpayer money on half-baked and unprofitable “green” enterprises, and in the commitment to redistribute wealth instead of allowing the free market mechanisms to facilitate job creation and prosperity.

“People in general are just scared sheep.” Thanks again for one of your trademark stereotypes.

      • Tom W.

Yea, I know “get a horse” history will prove you the foolish one. but it won’t matter much. There is always resistance to change and thoughts of change. But it comes none the less.

While we’ve wasted lives, money and time fighting wars that didn’t need to be fought. The rest of the developing world has move on.

Berlin has a auto parking garage, that operates like candy vending machine, It stores your car for you, like it was a candy bar. You drive onto a platform , get out and put your money in the machine, and it stores it and gives you a receipt. To recovery you car, press a code and it retrieves it. The advantages? building space, the walk and the time.

      • Tom W.

Claire as a former auto worker who lost their job due to imports back in the “80′s” all I can do is salute your patriotism! If more people would’ve been as loyal back then maybe our auto industry would still be the envy of the world, and I’d be retired now collecting my big fat pension!!! But alas, I owe, I owe, so it’s off to work I go… But I thank God that I’ve got a job!
Deer, as I’ve said before, you’re about as deep as your buddy Osama!
Why I believe that you’re a legend in your own mind!!!

        Karolyn, You have obviously been dupped by the MSM to believe ABC is on top of things. The only thing they are on top of is Barry Soertoro’s, aka, Obummer’s Bandwagon tooting his horn just like CBS,NBC,and Communist News Network,{CNN}

      • Deerinwater

I watch Fox as much at I do any other media and of course surf the net, Wall Street, Washington Post, The Union, OC Times, New York times,BBC, just to name a few, It’s just a part of my little day as I run a business and clock a lot of office time to where that I can.

Some people enjoy games, sports, puzzles, etc, ~ I like to make money the old fashion way, I send my little army out to work for it, and keep abreast of current events and terrorize people with my violin and viola playing. That’s what I do.

Sir, Fox News outlet is a joke when it comes to hard facts(with some exception)! but I watch it and listen as I would anything I take interest in.

Foxs News reflects the indicative nature of “offended” people “feelings” of indignation and protest ALWAYS! MSN,? sometimes as well.

Any person that watches these programs needs to learn to separate the “feelings” tied to inference statements from the “facts”.

It was Fox and Ruppet Murdock that started this Media blitz of right wing political spin and the challenge has since been answered. But there were years they went completely unchallenged and largely accountable for 43′s approval ratings and securing a second term along with his tax cuts as the unfunded wars to “No Where” went on.

Deer, I think that you’re full of BS! I’ll bet that you’re sitting on your butt in your BVD’s waiting for your ole’ lady to bring home the bacon! Why your almost as well read as Sarah Palin dude!!! I’m so impressed aren’t you Bob?! To put it simply, I think you’re one of those pathological liars with an inferiority complex dude!!! There, and that analysis didn’t cost ya a dime! Jesus is comiin’ Deer, you’d better get ready!!! He loves ya and so do I!

      • Vigilant

Tom, I KNOW he’s full of BS.

First, he says with reference to Fox, “Any person that watches these programs needs to learn to separate the “feelings” tied to inference statements from the “facts”.” If he’s talking about O’Reilly, Hannity and some others, one can only say, “Any person that watches these programs needs to learn to separate the hard news from the overtly-stated opinion and entertainment slots.” Deer/Bob Wire has not been able to make this separation. P.S. Bob, learn the difference between “imply” and “infer.”

Then he steps on it again with “It was Fox and Ruppet Murdock that started this Media blitz of right wing political spin and the challenge has since been answered. But there were years they went completely unchallenged and largely accountable for 43′s approval ratings and securing a second term along with his tax cuts as the unfunded wars to “No Where” went on.”

Would that it were so, Deerinheadlights, would that it were so. First, you give Fox much more credit and influence than it is due. It’s a cable station that doesn’t reach all of the sheeple, and as for unchallenged, you’ve put the cart before the horse: it was the socialist media that reigned supreme for decades before we finally got a station that tells the truth.

Just for your info, Bob, and you’ve been told this before but studiously ignore it, Fox has been rated highest for objectivity and balanced news a number of times by INDEPENDENT media researchers, so don’t give us this crap about bias.

BTW, Bush-bashing is becoming unfashionable, or haven’t you heard?

There is no difference you silly rabbit.

      • Vigilant

“Imply” means to suggest implicitly something that might be “inferred” by an observer. In the sense that you used it, statements don’t infer, statements imply. People infer from the statements.

They are two different words because they mean two different things.

Why do you do this week after week Karolyn? Every week you watch Ben’s video and then complain that you don’t like his wit, or that everything he says is a lie. If you don’t like his style of wit and you believe that all he does is fabricate the truth…then why do you keep comming back for more? Do you just need something to complain about? Is your life incomplete without being in conflict with others? Please enlighten us Karolyn…inquiring minds want to know.

Habit. It compels me to do more research to refute and/or negate things he says (as well as find things to agree on once in a while), thus expanding my knowledge. Joining in on this global discussion over a year ago has totally made me a more educated person. It is almost like a duty thing with me. After what public servants have done to me, I can believe what they did to Rand Paul. It was clearly illegal but their best asset is deceitfully lying after they’ve been caught. Their satanist agenda is death to everyone who doesn’t agree with their agenda, and not just Americans.

I contacted Senator Carl Levin asking him some questions regarding the NDAA, the chemtrails, the terrorists working in Washington D.C., etc., and then discovered that my computer was hacked and someone did a background check on me. I will tell the creeps who I am. My name is Carol. My first husband was named Ron. The man whom I knew as my father was named Benjamin but changed his name to Paul. I have been enslaved, kidnaped, tortured, and literally raped by American public servants. Justice is not for all and if it was I’m be a billionaire by what the bastards did to me. Justice only applies to the wealthy and the servants in D.C., as Obama, Pelosi, Holder, and all the other scum in Washington have clearly shown to the American people. I have no fear of and certainly no respect for those who think they’re above the law. The inmates are running the asylum as my book ‘TRIUMPH OVER TRAGEDY’ will clearly tell you.

    • JUKEBOX

Any correspondence that is negative to the Democrats probably is sent directly to America’s chief gun dealer, Eric Holder.

    • Tom W.

Carol if no one has told you that they love you today, please allow me to be the first! This is a copy of a letter I recieved from an organization called “Campaign for Liberty” on 11/19/2011…

Everyone’s “favorite” bureaucracy is growing up.

Today marks 10 years since the TSA’s creation. And if I could make a birthday wish on their behalf…
… it would be that this is the last holiday season we have to put up with their poking, groping, and scanning. In what should be “the most wonderful time of the year,” the path home for many Americans begins with a long wait at the airport – and dealing with people who think a government ID gives them the right to put their hands where they don’t belong. Remember the joyous, exciting holiday travel of yesteryear? “Over the river and through the woods…” Well, no one will be writing Christmas carols about modern holiday travel – though we may hear some blues about how miserable the experience can be. Since its inception, perhaps no other agency has been more flagrant in its violations of our civil liberties and as flippant toward Americans’ constitutionally protected rights as the TSA. As you may remember, in March of 2009, a C4L staffer found himself temporarily detained and interrogated by the TSA after attempting to fly back after our first Regional Conference with the event’s proceeds in his carry-on. It’s not illegal to fly with cash and checks on domestic flights, but these agents made it their business – something the TSA does far too often to too many people. Since that time, the situation has only gotten worse. For the past year, the TSA has been installing potentially dangerous backscatter imaging machines across the country to perform virtual strip searches on airline passengers. This leaves passengers the “option” of either being scanned and possibly exposed to dangerous radiation or enduring the very public humiliation of receiving one of their infamous “pat-downs.”
When the policy was first implemented, Senator Claire McCaskill downplayed the invasive groping that makes up one of the
TSA’s “enhanced pat-downs,” referring to them as “love pats.” The senator apparently no longer feels that way (after selling her private jet), and she recently complained about their invasiveness to TSA Administrator John Pistole. “I try to avoid a pat-down at all costs,” McCaskill told Pistole. “There are many times women put their hands on me in a way that if it was your daughter or your sister or your wife, you would be upset.” And as people continue to make their mistreatment and abuse at the TSA’s hands public by sharing their stories online, more members of Congress are beginning to take notice. Others, unfortunately, still don’t see the bigger picture. Without immediately reining in the unaccountable TSA and eliminating their procedures of scanning and groping passengers at the airports, I’m afraid the situation will only continue to get worse. In the past, we’ve warned about the TSA’s plans to expand its scanning beyond our nation’s airports – to our highways, train stations, and bus stops. Unfortunately, this is already happening. Last month in Tennessee, the TSA’s VIPR teams were deployed to conduct random searches of vehicles on the highways. This has to stop. And you and I are the ones who can fight back. Members of Congress may think this issue has blown over, but it’s up to Campaign for Liberty to remind them that we’re more outraged than ever at what’s taking place every day in our airports. Please, as soon as you can on Monday, call Congress at 202-224-3121 and demand they rein in their Frankenstein creation. Don’t let them sell you a bill of goods, either. They can force the TSA to abandon their policies of scanning passengers (in what amounts to a virtual strip search) or groping them (in a manner that would constitute sexual assault were it coming from a regular individual).
Ultimately, Congress should abolish the TSA altogether and return the responsibility for security to the private sector. Just like other federal government overreaches, the TSA believes telling us this is necessary for “our safety” allows it to do whatever it wants, including shredding our Fourth Amendment rights.
We must expose this lie, and I hope we’ll have your help to do so.
In “honor” of the TSA’s 10th anniversary, please consider chipping in at least $10 so C4L can do everything possible to fight back. The responsibility for airline security lies with the airline industry in the first place.
Since 9/11, only alert passengers and flight crews have thwarted additional terrorist attacks on airplanes, not the TSA! Tell Congress to pass appropriate, common-sense legislation like H.R. 2438, the “American Traveler Dignity Act,” and to cut off funding for the maintenance of existing scanners and implementation of new ones.
Even the European Union has banned the use of these scanners because of the possible health risks!
So please, reach out to Congress as soon as you can on Monday at 202-224-3121 and urge them to rein in the TSA by outlawing their scanning and groping.

Go Ben I so look forward to the weekend and the Great Eight.!! I enjoy your humor on the things these jerks do, and don’t do!! We can only hope that enough people are left in America that see through the Barry-O smoke screen and oust this Marxist, or is that the new Uncle Saul Linsky of our times.!? This administration needs to GO! All of the Dems. that agree with him and support his issues need to go also of course. There needs to be a big shake up in Washington and stop them from making laws that do are for us and not them? How did we let ourselves get to this point? I guess it is that when things were good and there were jobs and money and livin’ the good life we as Americans just turned our heads to what was being done to us… and they knew it and took advantage of it. That all needs to change I think. I don’t think being a politician should be a life time job. I think there should be a term limit and they should keep their day job because they are going to need it when their term is up. When did being an elected offical make them better than the ones that elected them?? When did they become what we revolted against to begin with …..Royal Rule.!!! They are not better than us so why do they get so special treatment.? Oh that is right “they” make the rules. I think America needs to wake up and stop this trend that has been growing for decades.

    • eddie47d

Oh Please show some cajones in where the real power comes from. Wall Street has manipulated you and this nation for decades and they pull the strings being played out in Washington. A few questions:

Did warren buffett receive the contract to move this equipment?
Why are the vehicles green camouflage and not sand color?
Was the train powered by diesel or was it electric?
If the military budget is being cut, will this toy manufacturer get paid?

These are very serious questions and we deserve answers.

      • http://deleted Claire

If the military budget is cut, will the manufacturers get paid??? I personally think some contractors, manufacturers– have overcharged the American government. They have taken America for a ride in many cases. Look at some of the politicians that may have benefitted from this situation. All in the name of greed–some made money off this shambles of a war–some took advantage of the situation and took as much money as they could while they could. Greed has many faces. It is amzing what money will do when dangled in front of someone or something. The fleecing of America. Money talks and honesty walks.

      • http://deleted Claire

        “amazing”

      • Nadzieja Batki

You didn’t answer the question. All manufacturers are not dishonest or greedy even when they contract with the government.

      • http://deleted Claire

First of all, I said “some” contractors, not ALL of them. If they have overcharged and fleeced the government I could give a rat’s rump if they ever get paid. I believe they will get paid. How? The government works wonders, or didn’t you know that.

The military moves equipment around all the time to get from one base to another or from one area to another Jay. Nothing unusual about a train load of equipment and probably wiser than using the slow moving APC’s on local roads. Funny how some advocate for a strong military and then are shocked by seeing military equipment.

Not that you really give a care but you should still address him as “President” Obama!! your disrespect in that reveals your ignorance in jest or in your real!

    • Sirian

      shelley,
The office and position of President of the United States is highly respected – always has been, always will be. It’s merely the person that is presently holding that position. The reasons both behind and in front of the various personal statements/comments (mine included) is driven by the numerous subversive actions that have been taken to degrade, basically eliminate the significance and importance of that position. This you can not see?

      • Tom W.

It;s as plain as the ears on his head Sirian! If I wanted to be disrespectful, I would have said nappy. Forgive me Lord!!!

    • eddie47d

Obama’s name and title are continually disrespected on this site. As much as the left despised Bush he was still President Bush, not Bushy,Bushnut,Messiah Bush,OBushanator or what ever other silly name could be contrived. Sure Bush was made fun of but nothing to this degree. To me it shows that the left is far more respectful and decent than the right in this name calling of Presidents.

      • libertytrain

      • MNIce

I seem to recall that lots of Eddie’s friends often called the 43rd President “Shrub” when they reviled him. The people who revile Mr. Obama by twisting his name are rather more imaginative (or perhaps just have more material to work with), but no matter how Mr. Obama may have dishonored his position, it’s still reviling. Don’t forget that I Corinthians 6:9-10 lumps revilers together with homosexuals and thieves, and pronounces the same exclusion on them.

The media love to portray members of the Tea Party movement as out-of-touch hicks who are racist and only care about themselves. News outlets tried so hard to find something bad to report at Tea Party rallies, but try as they might, they couldn’t. Contrast this with the filth, crime, and vulgarities that often accompany ‘Occupy’ protests, and one wonders where all the news coverage is.

        http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_oet&address=358×136
Careful it is a long list.

      • r.p.

I always called him “dubbya” or “Geedubbya” or “Bubba dubbya” in honor of that elastic plastic that so often finds itself stuck to the bottom of your shoe. Although I didn’t vote for him, he was the last “legal” president we had (keeping in mind the election fraud of 2000). Ergo; the last person in the WH that I called “President”, but half-heartedly.

      • MNIce

The election fraud was the attempt to recount the Florida ballots multiple times in hope they would eventually come out for Al Gore. The punch card ballots were literally wearing out (more chads falling off) with all the handling they got. The Supreme Court was right to say, “Enough is enough!” They ended the attempted fraud

      • Deerinwater

“he was the last “legal” president we had (keeping in mind the election fraud of 2000).”

And even that is very much debatable. 43 was much the same as Gov. Dick Perry, a front man that offered a “face” to a political machine that had it’s own agenda which had little to do with the well being and the issues of most Americans and we are none the better off for it today.

      • eddie47d

That’s quit a list Vickie yet I have heard of only 4 0r 5 of them. I was also referring to the misspelling of Obama’s name vs Bush but you made your point.

      • Tom W.

Wow Vicki, that IS a long list!!! One of my persoonal favorites was, you remember the little black diamond bumper stickers that simply said, “W” – The President? Well I saw one that said, “F” – The President.

      • JUKEBOX

Apparently, Obama cannot remember when he lived in Indonesia, and was called Barry Soetoro, and cannot tell us when or where his name was officially changed to Barak Hussein Obama, Jr. None of the MSM have the guts to ask this question even once.

      • Tom W.

According to Jerome Corsi book “The Obama Nation”, he was born Barack Hussein Obama Jr. according to the Hawaiian news paper article announcing his birth.

      • Tom W.

Obama Sr. devorced Barack’s mother to return to Kenya in 1963. Stanley Ann married Lolo Sortoro in ’65′ before Barack had turned four yrs. old. Barack was registered for school in Jakarta in ’67′ under the name of Barry Sortoro. When her marriage to Lolo began to fall apart in 1971 she sent little Barry back to Hawaii to be raised by her parents. The New York Times has produced a 1972 yearbook photo of Barack Hussein Obama Jr. from the fith grade class at Punahou school in Hawaii.

Shelly,a person should have to earn respect and Obama has done none of that.He has lied to the country, almost single handly destroyed the country and divided this country like it hasn’t been since the Civil War and we’re suppose to show Obama respect? NOT ME.

Well, I can honestly say none of the others earned my respect.

“He has lied to the country, almost single handly destroyed the country and divided this country like it hasn’t been since the Civil War and we’re suppose to show Obama respect?”

No Sir. It has been your reaction to Obama that has divided the country. It’s for each person to take responsibility for their own behavior.

I or anyone else does not have the authority to control your behavior, where it’s the things that you do or say.

As for any lying, that is for you to prove and evidently this hasn’t been done.

Obama has been accused of so much it has become almost impossible to stay abreast of all the many allegation. If there be any truth to some of them, it would be hidden by a mountain of erroneous statements and out-right lies.

I heard, as a young boy, Obama asked his mother why they didn’t share the same skin color as he was many shades darker then her. She tells, him, ” oh shut up, what she remembers about the party, just be glad you don’t bark”.

Now “who” would spread a vicious lie like that?

This contest of seeing just how low you can go, I would say that, my self proclaimed Christian Conservative friend wins hands down.

      • Vigilant

You’ve been out to lunch a lot, huh Bob, when it comes to being up on current events?

For example, ““It has been your reaction to Obama that has divided the country. It’s for each person to take responsibility for their own behavior.”

Wrong again, oh great armchair psychologist. No president in my memory has made such partisan statements as this one. For him, it has been one long political campaign to pay off his benefactors (labor unions, teachers, corporate donors and other special interests) while attempting to foment class warfare amongst the populace.

He has not been a unifier but a provocateur. Or do you consider the plethora of unconstitutional and illegal actions on his part to be some sort of unifying experience? His ill advised statement about the Cambridge Police Dept. during the Skippy Gates fiasco, and comments by Holder have shown that this “post-racial” president is indeed the “most-racial” president.

As for lying, what would you call last year’s “recovery” summer? Or the fact check charges against him in almost every speech he has made? Or his inveighing against deficit spending while a senator and then busting the bank with same after elected? Or his promise to take only public campaign financing when running for president? Need I go on?

Other presidents have understood their charter to, among other things, act as a president of the people, not to be a poster child for socialism. His lip service on behalf of Capitalism while instituting socialist measures at every turn is not just prevarication, it’s a slap in the face of the founding principles that made this country great, and every person who earns a living.

As for providing a sick joke as an example of “Christian Conservative” lying, you either don’t understand the difference between a joke and a lie, or you are yourself a provocateur of the worst sort.

You’ve been out to lunch a lot, huh Bob, when it comes to being up on current events?

I confess , I have a nice life and don’t waste time sharing your bias obsessions Vigilant. You are so engaged with things you have little control of , you can’t see the forest for all the trees. Step away and you can see much clearer. Living Life by the drop is not much fun.

“For example, ““It has been your reaction to Obama that has divided the country. It’s for each person to take responsibility for their own behavior.”

“Wrong again, oh great armchair psychologist. No president in my memory has made such partisan statements as this one. For him, it has been one long political campaign to pay off his benefactors (labor unions, teachers, corporate donors and other special interests) while attempting to foment class warfare amongst the populace.”

Well, it’s only class warfare if we elect to fight, otherwise is just “assault” and accept being the victim.

These are Americans with affiliations just like every other lobby groups out there Sir. The AAPR, the Rail Road, NRA, The National Restaurant Assoc, Citizen United, AAW, the list is long. It has always been so and is nothing new. The United States Chamber of Commerce is by and large a Clearing house for Lobbyist and again nothing new, it’s always been so in modern history.

That you elect to react the way you do is only your business, someone might have told you how to react but at the end of the day, it’s all up to you Sir. If you want to feel divided , it’s a decision that you made. ACCEPT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

“He has not been a unifier but a provocateur. Or do you consider the plethora of unconstitutional and illegal actions on his part to be some sort of unifying experience?”

You are free to makes these claims but “the act” of making them doesn’t make them exist but in your mind, if they did ,action would be forth coming. AND YES, WE FEEL UNIFIED, that you don’t is again completely up to you and what you and your people have elected to do.

Case in point ; Many of Governor Brewer’s proposed laws violated the Constitution as she claimed to defend it. She was taken to task and we see where she won some and lost some. That was an example in rule of constitutional law in action Sir. No need of holding animosities and grunges, the constitution prevailed for all Americans.

“His ill advised statement about the Cambridge Police Dept. during the Skippy Gates fiasco, and comments by Holder have shown that this “post-racial” president is indeed the “most-racial” president.”

Perhaps,~ you are free to look at it that way, but If a friend of mine was placed in jail for breaking into his own home, I too would call it a “stupid” act and poor police work. I fail to see where race enters into it. Who did so, beside you? And this is petty crap, don’t waste my time with non issues. You are attempting to polarize an issue with a racial bias. I understand, but that is not a lay down card you are permitted to play.

“As for lying, what would you call last year’s “recovery” summer? Or the fact check charges against him in almost every speech he has made? Or his inveighing against deficit spending while a senator and then busting the bank with same after elected?”

Well, many things are said on the stumping circuit by “all.” But it was indeed a recovery Summer Sir. Especial considering it was known and foretold that the stimulus money offered to the states, allowing them time to “put their house in order” would run out and dry up the mid summer of 2011. Today the recovery has started. All indicators suggest it is so, while the dooms dayers claims fear of inflation. Perhaps,~ but not yet. We shall see. We have a lot to make up for as the whole world banking system is still in a tail spin and much still needs to be changed.

Few truly knew the dire pearl that lays ahead in 2007. It wasn’t until two years later was we able to confirmed that 4 million Americans lost their jobs in the 6 month run up 2008 election, and another 4 million was lost 6 months after the election. That is 8 million people directly affected by the prior administration and all on the Hills failed economic policies and the direct result of bad decisions and bad policy.

“Or his promise to take only public campaign financing when running for president? Need I go on? ” YES CERTAINLY , PLEASE DO!

        RESPONCE;
Obama said, “My plan requires both major party candidates to agree on a fundraising truce, return excess money from donors and stay within the public financing system for the general election. . . . If I am the Democratic nominee, I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election.”

That “fund raising truce” was never reached Sir. A promise with conditions that was never met.

Obama consistently repeated his conditional pledge to reporters in Milwaukee (Politico, 2/15/08), in a USA Today op-ed (2/20/08), during a Democratic presidential debate (2/26/08) and in an interview on Fox News Sunday (4/27/08).

ABC News (6/19/08) cited an isolated December 23, 2007, Iowa speech in which Obama said: “I wrote a letter to the FEC saying if my Republican opponent is willing to abide by public financing, I would abide by public financing as well.” However, since Obama’s letter to the FEC made no such promise, it is difficult to claim that this comment, unreported at the time, amounted to a binding promise that overturned all of the explicitly conditional pledges made by Obama.

While the corporate press corps were denouncing Obama for breaking a pledge he hadn’t made, they were devoting comparatively little attention to the legal complaints against Sen. John McCain for making a legally binding pledge to accept public financing for his primary campaign, using this promise to secure a loan and get on state ballots more easily, and then backing out of his signed commitment in order to accept unlimited private donations (Washington Wire, 2/24/08).

“comments by Holder have shown that this “post-racial” president is indeed the “most-racial” president.”

I don’t keep up with Holder, and that’s just your own bias perception. And again, you are attempting to pay a card that you know that you should not attempt play. I need an example to work with, while you offer none. I’ve no comment.

        ” Need I go on? ” please

Well that is your bias opinion. I take it you speak of HCR?

A 300% increase for a quality health coverage policy in 20 years is not acceptable. Not to mention it was not working well but for a select group of people. Evidently you.

The Emergency Room should not be the first line of defense for health care. Something needed to be done, change it to suit yourself when you can, until then you got what you got, like everyone else, buy more, buy less, buy none, refuse to pay it, no skin off my nose what you do. You really don’t have to pay SS if you don’t want too, oh they say you do. At 121 million, I cut them off. But I work for myself and I have invested in the SS system.

“As for providing a sick joke as an example of “Christian Conservative” lying, you either don’t understand the difference between a joke and a lie, or you are yourself a provocateur of the worst sort.”

It is true, I play the part of the devils advocate here and expose your hypocrisy, I know it is not pleasant for you but this is not the “Love Boat” and your pleasure and comfort means little to me if it interferes with getting the truth out where all might see.

Please bare in mind, I only respond to you because you asked it of me and it’s not personal. I say to you, convince me of your truths, let us tell the tales of time together and work to be united in one God with liberty and justice for all.

Does any one care what the Constitutions says or even read it at all.The point I am trying to impart is Rommey is as illegal as olepileofsheet is as far as the Constitution is concerned.I read that Rommey father was born in Mexico.I do not understand why they want to deceive us about their qualifications as to both parents being natural born citizens as required.

    • Le Beauf

I’m not an American so I am not up on the constitutional requirements for being a candidate for the Presidency, but I understood that you had to be over 35 and an American citizen, born in the USA.

I didn’t know that your parents also have to be citizens born in the USA. Is this true?

      • mickey

Two US citizen parents. Neither Romney nor Santorum have been vetted for this and both state they are sons of immigrants.

      • JUKEBOX

Get your facts straight Mickey, the Romneys were American citizens, who moved to Mexico, and then returned to the U.S. Quit taking everything the Democrat media says as “GOSPEL”.

      • Tom W.

I’m taking the words right out of Mitt’s mouth Juke!

    • Alex Frazier

A natural born citizen is a person born of two citizens, natural or otherwise. The parents do not need to be natural citizens themselves, but merely citizens by law, to have a child that is a natural born citizen.

    • Sirian

Both of Romney’s parents were immigrants – Father, born in Mexico, Mother, born in Wales. Both were naturalized U.S. citizens before Romney was born. He was born in the U.S., therefore he is a “natural U.S. citizen” of two parents both “naturalized U.S. citizens”. McCain was born in Panama to two U.S. citizens – his father was in the Navy and stationed in Panama at that time. But he was born on the U.S. base, therefore he is a “natural U.S. citizen”. He may be a Progressive RINO but he is simply another example of the confusion that exists concerning Romney’s eligibility.

      • Tom W.

Good point Sirian, but it’s still about as clear as mud!

WHY IS NO ONE ON THE NEWS EVEN MENTIONING THIS ABOUT OBAMA COMPLETELY IGNORING HIS HEARING TO KEEP HIM OFF THE GEORGIA BALLOT, NOT A WORD

    http://www.wnd.com/2012/01/georgia-judge-considered-default-against-obama/

    • Alex Frazier

The Georgia judge already ruled by default in Obama’s absence that he would be stricken from the ballot in Georgia. Now we need other states to get on board. Maybe Obama will pay attention and take it as a serious threat to his reign if he sees more and more states piling onto the band wagon.

      • Sirian

Standby Alex, the DNC and the DOJ will battle that judges good ruling/decision to the hilt. Strike Obummer from the Georgian ballot? You don’t think Holder would let his grand leader be hit with something as good as this do you?

      • Tom W.

Is the law the same in all states?

    • eddie47d

You all need facts and much more proof before you pull that coup d’tat. I see plenty of reasons to keep Romney and Gingrich off the ballot too since they both have ripped off our financial system. Plus they are both flip flopping liars. If we dig far enough I doubt if any American could serve as President except in our own minds.

      • Tom W.

If Matt’s father was truly born in Mexico, does it not apply to him as well or was he a US national born south of the border?!! What about his mom? Did he not say that she was born in Wales?!!

      • Alex Frazier

For Romney to be a natural born citizen, it is only necessary that his father was a citizen, not a natural born citizen. Romney’s father might have gotten citizenship before Romney was born. People can obtain citizenship in this country if they come here legally and follow the paper trail to citizenship.

In Obama’s case, his father wasn’t a citizen of this country, so Obama is not a natural born citizen.

      • http://naver samurai

I enjoyed this video, Ben! Our dear Leader didn’t mention anything about any of his failed policies, but is anxious to “make millionaires pay their fair share” so he can prop up more failing and soon to fail energy companies, after all, he wants to be remembered as the “Energy President”, not as the Failed Policies that brought a great country to it’s knees President. Hey, at least Jimmy Carter doesn’t look so bad anymore!

    • Alex Frazier

LMFAO … Carter definitely looks better when viewed through Obama glasses.

      • Tom W.

Oh yeah, let’s not forget that Jimmy gave away the Panama Canal, one of the seven wonders of the modern world! And at least there’s no Billy Obama to put up with!!!

    • eddie47d

Good luck in getting the wealthy to pay their fair share. They have more loopholes and caves to hide in that Bin Laden!Considering that the top dog in the Republican race is Romney who only pays 13.9% tax rate while the rest of us pay around 28%.I would say that we will be continually screwed by those market manipulators. Since Romney hides a good chunk of his money in the Cayman Islands I really wonder where his loyalty lies.

There is left us only a few things to do…
1)vote all incumbents out until we finally get rid of all those turn-coats.
2)Then, we got to get rid of all voting by computer in every State of the union and revert back to the ‘tried and true’ method of paper ballots that are counted on the spot. Also, no more voting by mail. One must show up at the ballot box, prove your are a citizen with ID and place your vote! This creates a paper trail and an accurate count by the people voting.
    3) All those that voted FOR the National Defense Authorization Act, that was signed into United States law on December 31, 2011 by President Barack Obama, must be tried for treason to include Obama!

Hee, hee, hee, hee! You are very funny Ben. I like to listen to your videos. Yes, this is true that the Obama administration has done many bad things to this country. Does Nancy Pelosi have plastic surgery performed on here face? I can’t tell if she does or not. Her pictures from 2009 look the same as they do now. Oh wait, she does have a few more wrinkles. No more insider trading by members of Congress? This is good as insider trading is illegal. I guess that this means certain representatives should be in jail now? Here Obama says he supports our military, but he did more than lessen or stop production of the F-35 fighter. Didn’t he and Leon Penetta just say they are cutting the military by 80,000 men? If we are at war, why would he cut the military? I guess this country will not be able to defend itself after awhile. If this is true, then we’ll be like what my grandmother said Korea was like under Japanese rule. Election day is nine mnths away? Gee, this is too far away. The only comforting thought is that January 2012, they pack their things and leave the White House for good. Thank you and have a good weekend, everyone.

As Ben pointed out, Article I Section 6 of the US Constitution specifically prohibits arresting or detaining members of Congress on their way to Congressional sessions. This is to prevent interference with votes or other activities of Congress. (If you don’t understand why this is necessary, suppose there had been an impeachment trial for Richard Nixon, and suppose he arrested all the Democrat Senators the day of the vote to keep them from convicting him. If your small liberal mind cannot comprehend why such a practice would be a bad thing, you need to retake childhood because you failed the course.)

If you do not understand the unreasonableness of the TSA rules, particularly the manner in which they violate our Constitutional rights, then you are ill-prepared to protect your own rights. You should be grateful Senator Paul understood the problem and called the TSA on it.

      • vieteravet

No, that belongs to Bush, with the support of the democratic house and senate. Yes Bush added 7 trillion to the debt. Obama added 6 trillion in 3 years, that would be an added 12 trillion in Obamanuts 8 years (I hope not, but with dupes like you he might get 4 more years).

Sorry Ralph, but the stock market was over 14,000, unemployment was at 5.6%, our military was stronger, we had tax cuts in 2001 and 2003, we had factories open here with Americans working in them. What about Obama? We have no jobs under him, real unemployment is around 18% – 20%, he started more wars than Bush and even bombed Lybia without the approval of the House and Senate. Bush raised the price of oil by buying billions of dollars of oil to fill our reserves, Obama did nothing about it. Two wrongs dont make a right. Funny how he took Bushes doctrine of bank bailouts and GM and Solyndra too. I wonder had Obama lent a fraction of this kind of money to thousands of small businesses , what would the econmy be like?

      • George

Come on Ladies and Gentlemen, I get it, the right hates Obama because their shepherd’s told them so and the Left sees him as the next great hope for advancing people forward. Fact of the matter is neither side has done us much good. But since we seem to be on a mostly conservative blog I can’t refrain. The fact of the matter is we cannot afford programs like the F-35. Watch any Conservative sheep herder program like FNC “Fixed News Corporation” and its and endless barrage of running $1.4T compounded on the $10T we borrowed by the last administration so the top 2% could get a 3% pay raise and not contribute to the USA war effort (Iraq and Afghan for Patriots not watching). “America’s poor, give us your children and your money to fight wars so we rich don’t have too!” Speaking of which, where were Romney’s sons during the last 2 wars or maybe 3 wars if you consider Iraq twice??? They were of age!
So, if Romney and the other rightwing hypocrites tax plans are imposed, right-wingers you do the math, a 31% tax rate equates to 15% taxes actually paid, then a 15% tax rate will probably equate to a 0% tax rate??? You think the campaign backers are going to get rid of their tax lop holes??? Now I know you conservative are pretty smart after all you all went to privates schools and educated your children in private schools as opposed to those liberal dens of dis-education. What red blooded conservative valued person would subject their precious little ones to those places (surprising many)? So, hear is a word problem for you. How many F-35s can a right winger buy if they get 0% of GDP ($15T) or the amount of income generated from 300 million people? Or let’s suppose they change nothing tax wise. How much more debt can a right winger take on to buy more F-35’s if their current service on current debt exceeds the amount of money they bring in. Conservative are smart, but for you liberal out there the answer is ZERO.
One more word problem for those that believe the rights wingers tax and jobs plans are going to deliver. Let’s say you owe $14T and you need to generate $1.4T per year to pay for the interest only every year. You have tax revenues of $3T dollars every year and that is generated form $14T in GDP. Of that the top 2% make 85% of that GDP or $12T. To get the $400B need to fund your F-35 program how much would you have to tax the top 2% vs. how much would you have to tax the 98%. If you said 3% on the top 2% or 20% on the bottom 98% you are the smartest conservative. But wait, there more! Let’s say you’re going to do the USA a big favor and reduce that nasty and evil government (interestingly enough you want to replace it with people who are in the nasty and evil government) and you are going to have to cut spending which mean you will be cutting jobs. The F-35 which nationwide will create 100K new jobs how many gov people will you need to be fire. The average gov. person makes around $40K per year. If you said 1 million jobs your good. That’s a job creation effort of -900K jobs, great plan!

What if there was a war and nobody could afford to fight George? Wouldn’t that be cool? Unless of course you were the only one who couldn’t afford it!!! The LAST thing we need to cut right now is our military budget. You do keep up with the news, I take it?
How many more green energy companies are going to go bankrupt that this administration pumped full of money?!! How much tax money has been squandered so far, anyone keeping count? I tend to get lost in the numbers. I’m still dizzy from reading your post. Someone help me out here! Oh that’s right, nothing to fear, Bernanke says we’ll just fire up the ole’ presses and enact QE XVI! I hate numbers and I gotta file my taxes this weekend! I wonder if Tim Geithner would offer me a little help? You don’t think so? What about Maxine Waters or even Charlie Rangel, I heard that they’re both really good with numbers!!!

Perhaps you should try to know SIMPLE math . The Administration , what I call ” Robbers ” , want you to spend money that this country can’t afford . Mostly , on Hussein’ ” green ” jobs , that doesn’t work . And your crying about” us ” not getting behind him ? So me any ” green ” job that he give our money , that is still running , and I’ll show you where you can see a dinosaur .

One simple question: Can you run your personal finances the way that the Government has been run? Can you deplete your pay check and spend twice what you make? What leads to think that the government is any different?
It is not a matter of right or left, it’s simple pragmatism versus stupidity. Ron Paul realized that long time ago.

      • MNIce

George, if you’re going to try to bamboozle us with straw-man fallacy (the claim that the rich only pay half the taxes they should), thenat least get the math right! Half of 15% is 7.5%, not 0%! Obviously, you never do your own tax returns, nor do you understand how investment income is taxed. First, a corporation makes a profit. It pays 35% tax on those profits. It distributes some of those profits to shareholders as dividends. The shareholders pay 15% tax on the dividends. That means the total tax rate on the dividends is 35% + .65*15% = 44.75%, which is not 0%, and is almost one and a half times as much as 30%. (The .65 is what is left of the profits after the corporate tax.)

One reason we have so many jobs leaving the country is because we have the highest corporate tax rate in the world, and we still tax dividends and capital gains. On top of that, 71 other countries have more reasonable tax structures than we do (http://doingbusiness.org). You whine about high-priced defense programs, but we spend more on either Social Security and Medicare than on defense. That is not to say the military could not be cut, but even if we spent nothing at all on the military, Mr. Obama would still be spending at least $600 billion more than is collected in taxes.

Federal tax revenues are $2.3 trillion, but that isn’t enough for the big spenders in the Senate. They are the ones who refuse to consider measures to bring the government down to size; they are the ones who are over 1000 days overdue to pass a budget; they are the ones who threaten to cut essential functions of the government unless the House gives them money for their non-essential spending. And their biggest cheerleader is none other than Mr. Obama.

You have a serious problem with coveting – your envious attitude towards the wealthy, and the greed you express for taking more taxes from them shows that. You should be far more concerned about the over-all costs of the world’s most expensive corporation – the United States government. If the US government confiscated 100% of the income of the top 1% of the nation’s workers, the money would be enough to cover its expenditures for only 18 days. In the last four years, the US government has increased the per capita (i. e., your personal share) federal debt from $30,807 to $48,853, with no plan whatsoever for it to be removed. This is immoral, and everyone who demands more federal spending is calling for increasing the burden of debt slavery on us and our children.

      • OB1

A large part of President Obama’s State of the Union address had to do with jobs and the economy for working class Americans. He paraded figures that were supposed to indicate a recovering jobs market when in fact the figures he used did not reflect the millions of jobs that have been lost under his administration. He promised middle class America that more jobs would be coming their way. He told them to rely on him and the government to help create jobs so that families could keep their homes and recover from the economic funk the nation is in.
While Obama was standing before Congress and the nation telling them one thing, he’s actually doing the opposite.
The Obama controlled Pentagon has awarded a contract to Sierra Nevada Corp who in turn will work closely with Embraer, a Brazilian company to produce a light attack aircraft for the US military. The contract is worth $345 million dollars and would have provided work for 1,400 American workers, most of which would have been union workers, but since it appears that Embraer will be doing most of the work on the aircraft, those jobs will be leaving the country.
Hawker Beechcraft Corp, a Kansas based company has reportedly filed suit, forcing the Air Force to stop all work on the aircraft. Their suit claims that their company was blocked from presenting a bid for the contract and therefore the awarding of the contract was unfair. They also claim that their AT-6 aircraft performed better than the Brazilian made counterpart and that it was more popular with the pilots that tested the planes.
Former Republican congressman Todd Tiahrt from Kansas, worked for Boeing before going into politics and now serves as a senior advisor for Boeing Defense, Space and Security as well as heading up his own aviation consulting company, Tiahrt Enterprises LLC. Tiahrt said the Pentagon’s decision made no sense and,

“The amount of American jobs if Hawker Beechcraft won would be 1,400 American jobs — many of them union jobs and many of them veteran employees. But in selecting Embraer, there will only be 50 American jobs, and the airplane will actually be built in Brazil.
“He just recently proposed a program called ‘insourcing,’ where he wants to punish corporations that are looking for less expensive work and shipping outside the nation. Yet that’s the very same thing he’s doing. He’s doing it with the Keystone pipeline, he did it with Russian helicopters, and today he’s doing it with Hawker Beechcraft national security jobs.”

So tell me Mr. President, in light of what you’ve done with the issues raised by former Congressman Tiahrt, how can you stand before Congress and the American people and so blatantly lie while keeping straight face? Or is it that you are so used to lying that you no longer know the difference between lying and telling the truth?

After all, they paid big bucks for it.

As to the Republican tax cut plan, here’s an example (there are many more) of what they have passed in the House introduced by Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert, HR 2911 lowering both corporate and capital gains taxes to ZERO! Yup, that’s what these greedheads want so Republicans follow the billionaire Koch brothers orders.

Why do you sound like many other liberals on this site with the same lies? With regards to paying “their fair share” of taxes. Don’t use percentage of income. It is extremely unbalanced and very misleading. Use the actual amount of taxes paid in dollars.

The secretary may pay $5,000.00 in taxes (25%) where the wealthy business owner may pay $1,500,000.00 (15%) What’s fair?

Did the Business owner get better streets to drive on, better airports, better public schools, a better water dept. a better sewer system, a better police force and fire dept. for his 1 1/2 million dollars?

No, the business man did not. The wealthy business owner received the same public benefits as the secretary.

The secretary did benefit greatly from the greater amount of taxes paid by the business owner.

How much money should be taken away from the business owners that makes the jobs available. And at what point will those business owners decide that the return for their investment of money, time and effort to run a business is a bad investment and get out?

      • http://naver sook young

Oh really? Isn’t that what you always do with Clinton? I think you really need to analyze tings before you post them. Is this the same as Bush defeating Gore and Kerry by having more of the popular vote? Isn’t this the same as the liberals trying to steal the election in 2000? What prty tried to crush all military absentee ballots? It was the democrats. Al Gore made history by being the only candidate to not win his home state. I he would have won his home state of Tennessee, then all this nonsense about hanging chads would not have mattered. It says lots of bad things about you if you home state doesn’t even vote for you. Sorry, but we did better under Bush then we ever did under Obama or Clinton. My family also did a lot better. We have weathered the housing industry collapse and all the ignorance of this administration by working hard, making sound financial decisions, and living the way God has ased us to live. Please don’t sit there and say only the good things about the liberals. How bout the forcing of Obama Care onto the people, when the majority of the people didn’t want it? What about Clinton and the Glass-Steagal Act that was overturned by Clinton and his dealings with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? This made it possible for the housing industry to collapse. Even President Bush was giving warnings about this and tried to stop it from happening, but the democrat controled Congress and Senate (2007-2010) wouldn’t let him. Please place the blame at the feet of whom it rightfully belongs. Thank you.

Karolyn is right, this is an actual account from Iraq…

A Marine squad was marching north of Fallujah when they came upon an Iraqi terrorist who was badly injured and unconscious. On the opposite side of the road was an American Marine in a similar but less serious state.
The Marine was conscious and alert and as first aid was given to both men, the squad leader asked the injured Marine what had happened. The Marine reported, I was heavily armed and moving north along the highway here, and coming south was a heavily armed insurgent.
We saw each other and both took cover in the ditches along the road. I yelled to him that Saddam Hussein was a miserable, lowlife scum bag who got what he deserved. He yelled back that Barack Obama is a lying, good-for-nothing, left wing Commie who isn’t even an American.
So I said that Osama Bin Laden dresses and acts like a frigid, mean-spirited lesbian! He retaliated by yelling,

Oh yeah? Well, so does Nancy Pelosi.

And, there we were, in the middle of the road, shaking hands, when a truck hit us.

Are you against cutting the military; or do you think we should maintain these bases all over the world. I thought you were against that.

      • libertytrain

Karolyn, I’m not going to answer your question because you don’t have the experience to understand what my answer would be. BUT and it’s a big but, you really really need to think about what you write before you hit that send button. That comment just speaks volumes how naive you truly are about the military. And if you think it’s about a few soldiers being bored now and then, you got bigger problems than just your naivety about this subject.
You may have vast experience in some subjects but there are some every day life subjects like the military, and children, you’ll never ever grasp.

      • Tom W.

I’ve never heard of a soldier who has NOTHING to do! Maybe some blessed soldiers are stationed in a non-combat region of the world, maybe even in a tropical paridise somewhere, but even if they’re far from the fight, they’ve probably got an important job supporting our troops who are on the front lines in some fashion that Karolyn doesn’t have the foggiest clue about! Do you enjoy living in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave Karolyn?!! They ALL said you’re welcome!!!

      • Vigilant

Karolyn says, “I’m talking about all the soldiers stationed in places where they literally have nothing to do.”

Your misconceptions about the military, and your penchant for putting your foot in your mouth, go hand in hand.

Are you REALLY as naive as your comments indicate? Is it your idea that a member of the military, when not engaged in hostile fire activities, is doing nothing? Tell me, Ms. Karolyn, what job have you ever had for which you signed a blank check to your country, payable up to and including your life?

Now, that being said, I agree that our military presence is overextended in some parts of the world. But the focus is on miltary planning and foreign policy considerations, NOT on soldiers who have “nothing to do.” Next time, place your emphasis correctly and quit backhanding the noble individualss who wear the uniform.

Marlene, I’m so sorry as well. While I have been fortunate to not lose my military children. I can indeed imagine how you must have felt at losing your brother, particularly when you read ridiculous statements like the one that you posted to.

      • libertytrain

Vigilant – nicely said. So many people have absolutely no idea of the real life of a soldier.

Karolyn: When I was growing up, I was an Army Brat–my dad was gone more than he was at home. So were my uncles, cousins, and later my brother. Let me tell you madam, they don’t sit in faraway places having what YOU think is fun…they are at peril in many areas where they are stationed, even in Germany. In general, most folks don’t even know this, but it’s true–and I have a deceased uncle who was a ‘peace time casualty’ as a result of patroling with the locals at a border area. It is hard on the families, but we grow up with an understanding that someone has to do the job. When I saw your comment, it disgusted me because it tells me that people like you have absolutely no appreciation of what your military fellows are doing for you just so you can enjoy your freedoms. Have some respect if you don’t mind.

….Navy brat here. My dad was a naval architect stationed at Pearl Harbor, in charge of reconstructing it after WWII. That’s when I came along….and I have a real Hawaiian birth certificate.

      • http://naver samurai

So was I Palin16. My father did 32.5 years in the navy and retired a SHMCPO. He did 3 tours of Vietnam, to count the Tet Offensive. Since he was away for months at a time, he would always be surprised when he came home from Vietnam or a cruise. He would come back and I was walking, talking, in school, shaving, then enlisting in the army. I remember when he came to my graduation from BCT. The drill sergeants found out he was an E-9 and layed off of me for 2 days. After that, it was open season with doing push ups. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • R Crain

Lots of comments on soldiers, and all true. I may have left the Navy with my Medical Discharge, but being 100% disabled is no fun. I work hard everyday, just so I can do it all again tomorrow. Very little changes, and the VA Docs try to help me, but their is only so much the human body and the spirit can take. Its been a long tough road since I left the Navy, and people have asked me if I would do it again. I tell them, YOU BETCHA!!

Just enjoying themselves? I recon you have never been a part of the US Military, which just sits around enjoying themselves. Most of Europe can thank us for the freedoms they have today, and so to should most Pacific Islands and parts of the Far East. It was the US Military that brought them these freedoms in WW2, and protected them from the Soviet Union in the years following that war. The Soviets weren’t the only threat, just the largest and most powerful during their time. I used to make 9 month cruises on a US Navy destroyer to help guarantee those freedoms for 8 years of my life. The Soviet Union finally collapsed, but they were never the only threat, just the biggest. The others are still out there. As the world’s sole surviving ‘super-power’ it is our duty to continue to protect the world’s less powerful, and/or less fortunate. Who would you rather give this responsibility to, the French? We bailed them out of 2 world wars and Viet Nam. The British? They have already tried, and failed. Maybe the Germans. No wait, they were the ones who tried to take over the world in 2 world wars. How about the Russians, our old Cold war enemy? They can hardly afford to defend themselves, let alone anybody else. Like it or not, our nation has made certain commitments regarding our military forces, and whether you realize it or not, the dirty little job they do has very little resemblance to “just sitting around enjoying themselves.”

      • JUKEBOX

I wonder if this fool thinks all of those people in our National Cemeteries are just sitting around enjoying themselves, or the wounded warriors in all of the military hospitals.

Am I the only one concerned that the evil Russian empire is once again rising from the ashes? Was it just by accident that they find themselves in agreement with China on making sure Iran gets all the nuclear parts and info it wants? Just as the socialists, communists, Taliban, Al qaida, Sunni, Shiaa, and all others of their ilk agree to work together to take down their common enemy, that will last only for the nonce; then it will be the fight to the death amongst themselves until only one remains standing. The concept of individual freedom is anathema to all of them. And, if you doubt their ability to tolerate each other right now, think of the OWS crowd which consists of everything from skinheads to code pink, to GLAD to Nazis to PLO to American Communist Party to Fabian Socialists to anti-Israelis to eugenicists to organized labor–the list goes on and on and as they say, politics make strange bedfellows.

The most dangerous mistake we can make at this time is to NOT take them and the threat they represent seriously. Their mistake is feeling we are too soft to be willing to fight the hard fight. I’m planning on standing strong to my last breath. I hope you are too.

Dear VD, no you are not alone, as a student of Bible prophecy I can tell you that Russia plays a huge roll in the End Time prophecies! I’ve known all along that the Bear was only in hibernation. Putin is so full of himself, and you are so right about their roll in the Iranian nuclear advancements. Read Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39, know that Gog Of Magog chief Prince of Rosh (Russia) and Tubal (Tobolsk) is modern day Russia! Look at the list of confederate nation joining Russia in this Latter Day attack against Israel in ch. 39, right at the top of the list is who?! Persia, modern day Iran! What an amazing Book!!! Go ahead and read the rest, It’ll make ya feel better! Thank God that the Iranians were stupid enough to let Siemens do their IT installations at their nuclear facilities or the battle is liable to have already started!!!
May I take this oppertunity and say that if you haven’t watched the video on the sidebar of this page, “100 years in 10 minutes” you’re missing an awesome video! The old footage is amazing and very eye opening!!!

Karolyn: I don’t think you have any understanding of what our military is about–and I don’t think you have any idea of what the costs are in maintaining our freedoms. In 1941, The US was minding its own business–even having peace talks with the Japanese ambassadors on the very day Japan hit Pearl Harbor with a vengence. So, you would have us sit at home and do nothing? And in Sept 2001, the US was minding its own business–and 4 of our planes were hijacked and deliberately driven into 3 major buiidings and one into the ground–murdering 3000 innocent people in less than a heartbeat. And you want us to stay home and do nothing? The only thing I got mad at Bush for was that he did not authorize ONE well aimed missle to Afghanistan where the taliban cowards were hiding…had he done so, the middle east would not be doing what they are now. I have to agree with some on this forum that you are not an idiot—but you certainly are ignorant.

      • R Crain

Wrong again!! Back in WW2, many people were very grateful to see American GI`s. Many countries since then have asked us to intervene on their behalf, so that justice may prevail for all. There are many operations that take place, that the American public never hears about. In 1938, China loved Americans openly, cause we were fighting the Japanese for them. They had no military to speak of, and what they had was antiquated. But, our all volunteer force of military pilots fought for them, they were called Chenaultes FLYING TIGERS. They were all volunteers. Most of this was way before your time, and many a soldier laid down his life for perfect strangers. But, in this new area of operations, I don`t know who to believe. He said, she said!! I don`t think we should be the world cop, but I do believe that if we are called upon, then let us do our damn jobs, and be done with it. They should quit tying our hand behind our backs. Just tell us who the bad guys are, then let us take care of it. Too many people in the kitchen. You cannot run a successful war from DC. You just can`t, and we have the dead soldiers too prove it.Thats all I`m going to say for now.

I agree that America is a ‘Super-Power’ with a strong military.I think our military’s number one priority should be the American people; to defend and protect us from all enemies, foreign and domestic. After all, you are our children, our son’s and daughter’s, our mother’s and father’s, our friends, and neighbors. Do you agree?

So if a Hitler or Stalin tried to take over America and/or other weaker less fortunate nations, would you protect us FIRST? Would you honor the oath you took to defend the constitution? After ensuring our safety, would you protect other nations from a similar fate?

If you answered NO – Then Karolyn’s makes a valid point:one, for which you cannot defend.

If you answered YES – Then Karolyn still makes a valid point. Our soldiers are all over the world. What purpose do you serve the American people? Let other nations pay for your services (which they do not want) and quite honestly, we pay for but do don’t get. Your priority is not with the American people. “We the People” need you here at home to defend our constitution. Please hear me, out before you shut me out.

Activist Naomi Wolf studied Stalin, Mussolini, and Hitler extensively. She determined all would be despots do 10 things in common. They even use a lot of the same terminology.

        1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy. Terrorist – Remember Bush’s “Sleeper Cell” speech? Stalin also talked about Sleeper Cells.

        2. Create secret prisons where torture takes place.
        – Gitmo but there are dozens in EU, Middle East, etc Often a military tribunal is set up outside the rule of law that strips prisoners of their rights. While the world celebrated bringing in the New Year on Dec 31, 2011, Obama signed NDAA – 2012 into law, Sections 1031 and 1032 DOES apply to American citizens. For those of you that agree with torture, arrest without charges for years, Not entitled to representation, not entitled to face your accusers, Plea the 5th Gone, Miranda Rights-No, Geneva Convention laws -No, etc…those who agree with how we treat the “accused,” terrorist the NDAA should not bother you. FEMA /Homeland security call for contractors for encampments located all over the USA closes Apr 2012.

All governments that subscribe to this eventually turn its abuse on its own people.

        3. Develop a thug caste or paramilitary force not answerable to citizens. Blackwater is a mercenary group that answers to no one. They are currently 20,000 strong.
TSA – Strip searches, abuses at the airport security

        4. Set up an internal surveillance system. Computer’s being monitored, SOPA, wire tapping.

        5. Harass citizens’ groups. OWS, Animal rights groups,

        6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release. Canadian Boarder

        7. Target key individuals. Journalist, White House Attorneys

        8. Control the press. The press is owned by 6 company’s (The Bankers)

        9. Treat all political dissidents as traitors.

        10. Suspend the rule of law. The President elected himself sole person to declare Marshall Law on anything he wants.
        _____________________________________________
Gunner, Our government has taken away “We the Peoples” constitutional rights. They have our military invading nations looking for terrorist. The terrorist are not in Iraq nor are they hiding in caves in Afghanistan. They are wearing $5,000 suits, occupying the halls of “injustice” in America. I don’t blame the American people for not knowing – We have all been lied to, cheated, and sold out. I beg you to please – at least –consider what I say may be the truth. Peace Out
        ____________________________________________________

I understand that people do not want to believe our government is less than honorable. Just because someone writes it in a blog, or a forum, or it’s printed in the NYT, does not make it true. I certainly do not want you to believe me. I want you to find the courage to research it and prove me wrong using a creditable source.

My purpose is to inform the people. I feel that one person can make a difference so this is one thing I can do for all of humanity. We’re not alone, although we may look like leader of the pack, there are a lot of wolves involved.

*** Here’s a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled
        negative comments about our country.****

JFK’S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60′s when DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaulle said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible.Rusk responded, “Does that include those who are buried here?” DeGaulle did not respond.
***You could have heard a pin drop.***

When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of ‘empire building’ by George Bush. He answered by saying, “Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return
“**You could have heard a pin drop.***

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, “Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?” A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: “Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?”
***You could have heard a pin drop.***

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and FrenchNavies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?” Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, “Maybe it’s because the Brit’s, Canadians, Aussie’s and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.”
***You could have heard a pin drop.***

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE…
Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on. You have been to France before, monsieur?” the customs officer asked sarcastically. Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France, previously. “Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.” The American said, “The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.” “Impossible.. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France !” The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ”Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn’t find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to.”
** *You could have heard a pin drop.***

Thank you. Those years in the United States Navy were some of the very best in my life. Where else could I go and get paid (never much pay) to travel large parts of the world, thereby giving me a reference point for how much better off we are than most of the rest of the world. Where else could I, at age 23, be placed in charge of a guided missile launching system, a magazine full of missiles, several men charged with maintaining this equipment, and be considered quite competent for the task. We demand a lot of our young people in the military, and time and time again they keep proving that they are up to the task at hand. They are all volunteers today, and when you think about it, it takes a certain type of person to volunteer to get shot at for his/her country. I liked it so much, I re-enlisted once.

Only because I know someone who was stationed in Germany for 10 years; and when he was not in the field, he lived a high old life. As a matter of fact, he and his German wife want to go back to Germny because they had it so good. I also know two other career Army families that spent yeas just traveling the world and living wonderful lives, while not serving in any military actions. You have to admit that it does exist.

      • libertytrain

Karolyn, my daughter does live in Germany, again, and yes she loves much of it. Loves her job, never gets bored – and she has a wonderful, exciting job. However, she still notes that she wishes she wasn’t there because the rest of her family, i.e. (us,and the other family members) is here in this Country. It costs in the average about $1000 each for us to go visit there. It costs her the same for each of them. So we do miss out on both ends of family. Seeing the kids grow. She would gladly change her status and be back in this country. And, keep in mind, the folks you talked, may not have family, or family that is important to them. I can recall the last time she was there, I met many soldiers and families on post that NEVER left post because they hated being where they are and wanted to be home with their families – I couldn’t believe they didn’t want to explore their new temporary world. You have so few stories – I could tell you many many stories. My girl is a professional. She was assigned a job and does it well. She does take advantage of her time off to explore and learn about where she is; the history of the country, etc. and does take advantage of her assignments in other countries doing the same, while in Germany. However, that doesn’t change the fact that she’d rather be back in her home country. Now I’m just talking about the few that are posted in Europe and countries not actually at war. I’m not talking about the soldiers in the war zone.

      • libertytrain

And like the poster above you, Sook. I don’t know that my girl or her husband are safe. They do have to travel as part of their respective jobs to unsavory countries. I don’t usually want to know when they are doing so, because it is a horrible ache in your soul – not knowing they are safe – like you could never imagine – a mother is always a mother – no matter the age of their child.

      • Karolyn

The point, liberty, is that they don’t HAVE to be there. Why are they there? Wasn’t there talk a while back about closing many of these European bases?

      • libertytrain

you need to do much more research but do it with legitimate sites, not one that favors the left or the right. There’s so much you don’t understand.

      • http://naver sook young

Actually Karolyn, they wanted to close those bases, except Italy and Turkey, and bring all of them home during the Bush Administration. Unfortunately, the liberal voted against it. If we did bring them home, we should station them along our southern border. You know someone in Germany? That’s fine. I have my father who retired after thirty five years of service in the Korean Army, my father in law in the Philippines, and many other relatives that can tell you what it is like in the military then and now. When we were stationed in Korea and Germany, we didn’t have it so good. Life was very hard for us. In fact, we had it easier in Korea than we did in Germany. Thank you.

Also, as I’ve said before Karolyn, if my son were hurt or died, I wouldn’t know what to do.

      • libertytrain

Actually, they have closed several posts/bases in Europe. And they are steadily closing. All the posts in Mannheim are nearly completely closed – and actually look like ghost towns because there are so few there – , followed by Heidelberg which too, very much resembles an empty army post already, so few there – and will soon be gone. It is not remotely the same as it was even as short as a year ago. And for those of you who were posted in Germany you would be shocked at what it’s like now on these once massive posts that served a purpose.

      • CJM

Karolyn: Big deal–you know of 3 individuals who had a wonderful time travelling the world. Believe it, they only told you what they wanted you to hear. Yes, they did enjoy exploring their new surroundings just as you do when you move to a new town in your own state. It sounds to me that you have a problem with jealousy because the military paid their way to places you would like to visit. Well, guess what, Karolyn, these folks have to use their own money to purchase housing and other essential basic needs. Oh, they live on the base, but it isn’t free; they can opt to live in the nearby civilian community if approved by the commander, but they still have to pay. In some cases, the military will not pay for all furnishings to be transported; the military person has to foot that part of the bill. Want to keep your car? Then figure out how much it will cost you to move it from point A to point B. Like I said, I think you are just plain jealous–get over it.

It’ll take alfully big nads Marty! I don’t think that thet’re ready yet, and they know it!!! But be ready because they’re working on it! The OWS is back in action out in Oakland today!

Please, will people stop giving Obama and czars ideas. They might follow through, as ridiculous as it sounds. Of course, they might get scared that our military will say “enough” and give them some ammunition in the weak little brains.

I say that if that is truly their plan Marlene, well let’s get it on and get it over with!!! When I was a younger man, I thought that one day soon, man was going to destroy himself and this world, so my philosophy was, you might as well go ahead and party till ya puke!
