Your Choice: Ron Paul Or A Wheelbarrow?

January 25, 2012 by

Your Choice: Ron Paul Or A Wheelbarrow?

You might have good need for a wheelbarrow, especially if the Presidential election turns out the way I fear it will. After we know the victor, the smart thing to do will be to run out and buy wheelbarrows to replace our wallets, purses and even bank accounts.

The United States is creating money to a degree that has happened only twice before in its history. It was initiated to overcome the Great Recession of 2008. On Seeking Alpha, contributor Jeremy Robson writes:

The Federal Reserve balance sheet has expanded from $869 billion on August 8, 2008, to $2.929 trillion on December 28, 2011. This is an average increase per month of $55.1 billion or an annual increase of $661 billion.

A similar situation is occurring in Europe. Greece, Ireland and other nations could quickly fall into default.

Robson points out: “The rise in the balance sheets of the big 4 central banks over the 2008-12 period will amount to about 15 per cent [sic] of GDP, which is equivalent to over 50 per cent [sic] of the cumulative budget deficit of these countries over the same period.”

One can legitimately argue that central banks are financing government deficits. This certainly sets up the possibility for hyperinflation in 2012 and beyond.

St. Louis Adjusted Monetary base
Evidence of the underlying problem is in the graph above, the U.S. base money supply. Trillions of new dollars are being created by the Federal government’s computers and the rollout of ever greater Treasury debt. But this money is not being circulated through the economy, and that makes us vulnerable to hyperinflation.

Only twice in American history has the Nation had to endure hyperinflation: 1779 and 1861-1865. Both occurred during wartime.

Three generations of Americans have lived through good economic times. That is not to say there haven’t been some hardships in American life. The rolling recession of the early 1980s was tough on the Nation, and the Crash of 2008 scared most of us witless.

America is not immune to economic catastrophe. Currently, a $1 trillion per year deficit is being backstopped by the Fed which is now buying more than 50 percent of all new Treasury debt. China holds more than $1 trillion in Treasury debt, and it may soon believe it is sitting on fool’s gold. More and more dollars are being created by a keystroke on the Fed’s computer. This means that every existing dollar holds less value.

If China or other foreign investors start to sell off their Treasury bills, notes and bonds, it will create a flood of new money. Rampant Treasury liquidations could tip off a period of hyperinflation and that would drive an already shaky economy into oblivion.

Who is going to stop it? Not President Barack Obama. He has done more to create catastrophe than any President since Herbert Hoover. Will Mitt Romney engineer a rescue for a Nation that has failed to deal with economic realities for the past three decades? How about Newt Gingrich, a consummate Washington insider? I doubt that any of these three have the will to take the draconian steps necessary to save the U.S. dollar and to save the United States.

Gingrich talks a good game. Last month, he proclaimed that he is now running on a hard money platform. While campaigning in South Carolina, the candidate recommended a “commission on gold to look at the whole concept of how we get back to hard money.”

I suggest that Gingrich’s promises to the Nation are as empty as the promises he made to his former wives.

According to CNN Money:

Gingrich would model his “gold commission” after one put in place after Ronald Reagan was elected, when the nation was battling double-digit inflation. But even then, the commission overwhelmingly rejected the idea of a return to the gold standard.

One of only two members of the 17-member commission to endorse a return to the gold standard was Ron Paul.

Jim Rogers, a hard-asset guru and billionaire who has hit big-market trends correctly over the past 25 years, believes that Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul can save America from an economic catastrophe.

Rogers told Beacon Equity Research that he believes Paul understands the problems that are facing America.

Rogers pointed out that unlike the other candidates for the Oval Office, Paul is willing to implement painful cuts to U.S. debt levels including severe budget cuts and the slashing of defense spending. That isn’t just a bitter pill for the Nation, it is major surgery. And let’s face it; the majority don’t like Paul’s prescription to make America well.

The Huffington Post Canada pointed out this week:

Both Democrats and Republicans seem to have this problem with Ron Paul, but Democrats tend to like the opposite 50 percent of what Ron Paul says from the 50 percent that Republicans like. Democrats tend to like the part about protecting civil liberties and reducing military spending, while the Republicans tend to like the 50 percent that’s about slashing social programs, but hate the part about withdrawing all our troops from around the globe. As Rick Santorum said, “The problem with Congressman Paul is, all the things that Republicans like about him he can’t accomplish and all the things they’re worried about, he’ll do day one.”

That is, if Paul gets the chance.

It is like millions of people who are told by the doctor every year to give up smoking or drinking. Most of us change our habits only after we get a terrible diagnosis, and then it is often too late.

Paul is both a real doctor and a realist. He has given his diagnosis to the Nation. I bet few Americans have the courage to accept it.

This will ensure old policies and overspending by Washington and the continued destruction of the U.S. dollar. Short of some miracle, now is probably a good time to buy a few additional ounces of silver and gold. Buying a wheelbarrow wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

Yours in good times and bad,

I think any of the canidates would be better than Ron Paul

    • steve in AZ

Then by all means, vote your ignorance, Brogy.

    • Les

When did you stop thinking for yourself?

    • Conservative Canadian

Ron Paul is your only hope.

  • DaveH

This wise man knew the score over 200 years ago:
“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs” — Thomas Jefferson

  • jimbo

Every year the Fed prints enough money to cause 3 – 8% inflation. That is a stated GOAL of the Fed. They mistakenly think this promotes growth. How does debasing our currency promote growth?

Do you ever save for anything? A new car, boat, house, or college education? Well then the money you put away 10 years ago, lost 5% of its value that same year. Another 5% the next year. Another 5%. Another 5%, etc. etc. Prices of stuff don’t go up because they just go up. They go up because the government inflates the money supply.

Besides this, the government is CAUSING the widening gap between the rich and poor. The rich man isn’t much affected by inflation. He just extracts more pay from his business, and freezes YOUR pay or cuts your benefits. You have to beg for a payraise to keep up, and when you don’t get it, you fall further behind. You’re forced to run from town to town, and state to state, trying to get more compensation for your work. It disrupts your family, and ruins your health. All because the government wants to pay off their old debt with cheaper new dollars.

For decades, a cup of coffee was $.05. Why is it now over $1? It’s the government! Shouldn’t the money you put away 10 years ago be worth the same in goods or services today, as it was 10 years ago?

Why aren’t people SCREAMING about this?

    • Flashy

In the capitalist system of economics, inflation is needed for it to be a success. It forces the consumer to buy now…because tomorrow it will be more expensive. As any sound rational economics reasoning will tell you, a 2-4% rate of inflation is the desired target. Without some level of inflation, there is no capitalist system.

      • steve in AZ

        Oh, Flushy. Wrong again, eraserbreath.

      • Flashy

I know…i’m wrong and that’s why you couldn’t counter my statements. Jeesh …

      • s c

Steve, what flushbreath will never understand [OR admit] is that GOVERNMENT is the #1, chief, main INFLATION ENGINE in America. When f first read Utopianism for Dummies (or someone read it to him), no one told him that government uses every excuse to keep people dumbed-down. F is living proof of it. After a while, you have to give up, as utopians are a waste of time. It’s like trying to educate a brick.

      • Sirian

        s c,
That is exactly why I sit back and laugh at this fool. Yes, it is totally pointless and a waste of time and energy. Ignoring ignorance is much more rewarding.

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear Flashy,

You know not of which you speak. You write: “It forces the consumer to buy now…because tomorrow it will be more expensive.” Please explain then, dear sir, how this applies to goods like electronics such as computers, big screen televisions, DVD players, cell phones, etc., all of which are less expensive now and have greater capabilities (memory, screen quality, video quality, more features) than when they first came out. And this trend continues.

Inflation is a hidden tax on wealth and has nothing to do with capitalism. You must continue your economics education. I give you the following for you to begin your education. However, you must approach it with an open mind:

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • Flashy

        Mr. Livingston:

thank you for your observations. However, I do encourage you to utilize such written references such as Samuelson, Keynes, Greenspan and even Adam Smith. Product improvements are of course, a basis which motivates consumer and wholesale purchasing. The rising cost of a product is another. I will rely upon the basic economics taught in every Econ 101 class held at a reputable university.

        Have a nice day.

      • Nadzieja Batki

        All failed economists.

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear Flashy,

One of your favorite economists said the following:

“As the supply of money increases relative to the supply of tangible assets in the economy, prices must eventually rise. In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation through inflation. There is no safe store of value”.

“A return to a gold standard (would be) a basic change in our economic processes. A gold-based monetary system will necessarily prevent fiscal imprudence. Once achieved, the discipline of the gold standard would surely reinforce anti-inflation policies, and make it far more difficult to resume financial profligacy”.

        Care to guess who?

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • Flashy

        I’d guess Greenspan.

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear Flashy,

Give yourself a gold star. Now understand this: Inflation is not rising prices. Inflation is an increase in the money supply. Rising prices are a result of inflation. If you will begin your education with the links I provided you may begin to understand the flaws in Keynesianism.

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • Tom W.

        Give ‘em hell Bob!

      • Flashy

Inflastion is th increased cost of goods and services, sometimes (though not always) associated with cost of production, increased money supply, changing equilibrium point of the goods and/or market sector, etc. Many confuse inflation as being tied to money supply. While money supply may be a cause, it is not the cause.

Have a nice day Mr. Livingstone.

      • DaveH

        That is complete balderdash, Flashman.
Inflation is not needed at all. In fact with a Precious Metal currency, prices would go down and the people would benefit from increased productivity, as it should be.
Read this book to learn some reality, Folks:
        http://mises.org/books/historyofmoney.pdf
From the book, Part I, section titled “THE GOLD STANDARD ERA
WITH THE NATIONAL BANKING SYSTEM, 1879–1913″:
“Real reproducible, tangible wealth per capita rose at the decadal peak in American history in the 1880s, at 3.8 percent per annum. Real net national product rose at the rate of 3.7 percent per year from 1879 to 1897, while per-capita net national product increased by 1.5 percent per year”.

We do not need price inflation for a good economy. That is purely a myth promoted by those who benefit from excess printing of fiat money. Whoever gets the newly created money first benefits at the expense of the remainder of the population. Who usually gets the newly created money first? Government, member banks, bailed out poorly-run financial institutions, etc.. Certainly not the Mainstream Americans.

      • DaveH

For those who don’t understand the economic term “real”, it means in term of dollars adjusted for inflation.

      • Deerinwater

okay, if you say so. aren’t you the same guy that explained venture capitalism as people how invest?

  • Tom W.

And here’s another one to chew on! (Please pardon the pun!!!)

    Ezekiel 7:19 (KJV)
“They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.”

    • Old Henry

      Tom W:

God Almighty certainly has a way of cutting to the chaff, doesn’t He?

      • Tom W.

You can say that again brother OH!!!

  • Henry Ledbetter

“THE TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE.” ” If we were willing and obedient we could (once again) eat the good of the land.”

  • Iris

And then reality takes over! God Bless Ron Paul, but he won’t wind up being president. Vote for him and you are going to get 4 more years of Obama and the end of America. Vote for Newt and you will get a sea change that will alter the course we are on. At least he has proven that he can do it, having done it before. Sometimes we actually need someone who KNOWS HOW. Don’t like him all you want, but for God’s sake and our nation’s sake, please do not give the reins back to Obama.

I am disappointed that this website has become a RonPaul-all-the-time vending machine.

    • Ken

Never mind that newt is a crook. I’ll never vote for him. So, if you’re correct (which I doubt), then I guess it’s four more years of ovomit for you. Unless of course you change your vote. That’s what you’re asking us to do. Isn’t it? Nope, you change your vote.

      • sj

Right on Ken – crook = liar and we have seen all too many times what happens when we put a liar in office – nothing buisness as usual

      • John

Obama is a known entity, and can be dealt with, and although some chicken little’s believe he will destroy this country in 4 more years,he more then likely will have not much chance to do so…. fact is his power can be limited by getting republican majorities into both houses. I do not subscribe to the sky is falling philosophy of the few that cry Obama will destroy this country, but I do believe Newt (and Mitt for that mater) will do a lot more damage then Obama could do, simply because he will have congress behind him and it will be in essence more of Obama politics but now with congress approval.

      • http://yahoo.com ted

how come u paul fans always remind us of the other candidates dirty laundry but forget or dont know about his past newletters.shame on u.

    • DaveH

We’ve been following the lesser of two evils advice for my entire adulthood, Iris. As you can plainly see, it doesn’t work. Evil is Evil, lesser or not.

    • Nadzieja Batki

You also have a short memory concerning Newt.

    • Deerinwater

Newt knows how the separate people from their money with bull$hit.

If you wish to make him out something special for this “skill” that’s your business. But he’s not getting any of mine.

  • Flashy

LOL..another article which has no reality to it, but it’s good print to start the day’s Obama bash.

Seriously folks. All the cries of ‘gold standard’, ‘slash the government’ etc…it’s good for a fictional work, it may be good for a good foaming at the mouth rant…but as far as realistic solutions ? give me a break.

First…of all the wacked out wild solutions proposed…most cetner around hacking and slashing expenditures without raising revenues to ease the effects of the loss of government involvement in the economy. you really want that? really? OK…look to hoover’s plan on how they tried dealing ith the Depression…and made it into a Depression. look at japan’s “Lost Decade” during the 90′s. Heck..look at Italy, Spain, Greece, Ireland today.

Sounds nice. And the fake bravado of ‘we’ll suffer the pain now for the ‘good’ later’ is great…just like a coward going into battle and just before he cuts and runs. Because when it hits you personally….you’ll scream and whine. When your job is lost, your income falls because of the loss of business activity, when you are robbed because someone is desparate and needs money to feed the family … that’s when you’ll scream and whine and beg. It’s the typical profile of a coward…false bravado then blame everyone and everything but thier own actions.

The facts are, we have been the victims of an all out attack since 1981. this great nation has been raped, pillaged, and plundered. And the Right and the wealthy have given their solution…finish the job and turn it into a immobile caste dominated pyramidal society.

Yes…we’re going to have nflation. I’d say 8-10% for a few years as we come out of the greatest danger we faced since WWII. Three reasons why I do not see hyerinflation in the future.

    1. Other currencies are hard hit and will soak up the extra dollars floating around. The dollar will replace the currencies of other countries as a safe haven to hold.
    2. Bernanke, geitner, and every leading economist are well aware of the dangers of hyperinfaltion and will act to keep inflation under control. That and the Fed is the one buyng the extra treauries floating around there. And I do not see the Fed selling those treauries and flooding the market.
    3. Connected to #1 above. reality is, the world is becoming one. The effects of the internet will continue to bind us together, and the dollar and our English will continue to permeate as the world standard. That we will eventually have a global government is indisputable. Perhaps in 100 years as the reliance upon the internet and information connectiosn continue to grow in our lives. That it will occur is beyond dispute (barring WWIII). what we need to concern ourselves is the US staying Top Dog so the world adopts our standards, our language, our culture…and we are not adapting to something else.

    Think about it

    • Ken

India just announced that it will no longer be using the dollar to buy oil. It will now be using gold and buying from Iran. Did you miss that? Russia isn’t using the dollar anymore either. Iraq wanted to stop, but was bombed. Libya wanted to stop and was bombed. China wants to ditch the dollar. You were saying?

      • Flashy

India won’t be using gold for long 9if such is the case). Gold is a finite resource ill equipped for todays modern nation state existence.

As far as another currency being used for the basis of oil pricing? there may be short term excpetions , but oil is a commodity which is not suitable to be priced on various currencies and subjected to the currency market. And there is no currency with the circulation and demand to replace the dollar.

As for the one world government comment? You want to ignore the reality of the internet? Be my guest. Not my problem. The “nation-state’ as we know it today will be vastly changed in 100 years. You and those who live in the past will be left in the past.

      • Conservative Canadian

The shift is already happening. The world will drop the US dollar as the reserve currency. The BRIC’s are positioning themselves for this. I’m sure the British thought the sterling pound would rule for ever as well. Every fiat currency in the history of the world has eventually failed.

      • Flashy

CC…I would agree with you but for the internet and the impact it is having on consolidating the peoples of the world. that is why I stated…in 100 years, the nation-state as we know it will be as arcane as the monarchies of Europe pre WWI. When there is but one world community…there will be one currency overall. nothing to replace it with.

i’d like it to be US dominated. Appears most posting on this site would rather it be another culture and currency…

      • DaveH

        Flashman,
You have no credibility on this board. Do you really think people are going to take financial advice from such a dishonest person?

      • Flashy

I don’t know if people will take advice from you Dave…I don’t but I’ll let others decide for themselves. Does Mises have anythng to say on the subject?

      • DaveH

I don’t think they have anything about useless trolls, Flashman.

      • warren

…Gold will be the currency and will flow back and forth as payment for exchanged goods and services. You’re assuming all the gold will be going to oil producers and get hoarded there. not the case. these countries/traders will establish their own values on any commodities irrespective and independent of the U.S petrodollar. This is why U.S, will bomb Iran, and use the development of a non existent nuclear enrichment as the excuse. Wake up sheeples…

    • Ken

OOPs, almost forgot. Screw you and your global government!

      • Deerinwater

Well? ~ How long did you think about that posting Ken?

    • Les

THis country is becoming anything but one. The federal governments employees fear the citizens actually uniting. So much so that they have actively done everything they can to bust us up into little hater groups. We had a lot more unity in the 60s & early 70s and it scared the crap out of the federal government. We were one against a corrupt system. Now we are divided by race, religion, cast, language, culture, etc.

You are sadly mistaken if you think the planet will fall under control of a new world order. The one thing attempts at global governing has proven is that it controls nothing.

    • DaveH

What you should think about, Folks, is that Flashy has no credibility. He lies often, and most of the rest of the time, he resorts to adolescent manipulative tactics to sway those with week minds.
Here is just one example of his blatant dishonesty (check out his reply to Cawmun Cents):
      http://www.personalliberty.com/conservative-politics/the-best-president-money-can-buy/#comment-713079

Apparently he has become so brazen, from getting away with snowing his Ignorant Liberal companions, that he is willing to put his BS in print.

      • Flashy

“The Way of the Sniper,” appeared in Men’s Journal, November 30, 2009. Written by Rick Telander

United States Army Field Manual: FM23-10 Department of the Army, Washington, D.C., 17 August, 1994.

      • Flashy

Have a nice day DaveH…hope the crow tastes good.

      • DaveH

No crow, Flashman. Anybody who knows anything about shooting or physics knows that your comment was a complete fabrication. Thanks for exposing yourself.

      • DaveH

For those who want to compare the cited article to Flashman’s BS:
        http://www.sniperinfo.com/forum/showthread.php?447-The-Way-of-the-Sniper

Here’s just on example from Flashman’s ignorant comment (trying to make himself look intelligent but failing mightily):
“If you were firing due east, you’d have to aim six inches lower, since the earth rotates from west to east and your target would have dropped away from you slightly by the time the bullet arrived”.
The target drops away from you? Apparently Flashman remembers those high school stories where the ship sails over the horizon. But there’s one catch here — the ship is moving away from the observer. The distance from the sniper to the target remains the same. There is no dropping away of the target.

      • DaveH

Also I might add that the droppage of a bullet depends entirely on the the weight and shape of the bullet, and the velocity of the bullet, which varies widely. Thus, there would be no way that it would be a constant figure of 6 inches.

      • Flashy

Dave..I gave two cites from the paper I wrote. One of them the Army field manual. The facts are there. You don’t want to believe ‘em? Not my problem. BTW..your one comment about the distance being the same ? Try again…the physical geographical distance is the same…but the bullet is in flight. Toss a ball at a moving car going away from you. There’s your analogy to use.

      • DaveH

The car is moving away, Ignoramus. A stationary target isn’t.

      • DaveH

I did find the site that you apparently plagiarized from (almost verbatim), Flashman, and the fact-finder was a girl who couldn’t find any real snipers to talk to, so she talked to some shooters at a range. Yep, great source that is. The whole article was a fluff piece, similar to that which comes out of your mouth.
But at the least, whether the article was true or false, you could have posted the link so the readers could decide for themselves. But then, that would have made you seem less clever, wouldn’t it? Unfortunately for you, the author didn’t know much about real long-range shooting.
The main environmental factor in sniping is windage. After that, humidity, temperature and air-pressure, all of which have an effect on the density of the air that the bullet must plow through. But the last 3 are relatively constant at a particular time and place, with the wind being the main variable.
I suppose next you’re going to be citing Diane Sawyer as your financial expert.

      • DaveH

Here’s the fluff piece for those who are curious:
        http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2944/how-does-the-earths-rotation-affect-the-path-of-a-bullet
Notice particularly how Una got her information.
At any rate, here is Flashman’s statement:
“A bullet traveling 1,000 yards would be deflected about three inches to the right. In addition, you’d have to aim higher or lower depending on the degree to which you were facing east or west. If you were firing due east, you’d have to aim six inches lower, since the earth rotates from west to east and your target would have dropped away from you slightly by the time the bullet arrived. If you were firing due west, you’d have to aim six inches higher”.
        And from the article:
“a bullet traveling 1,000 yards would be deflected about three inches to the right. In addition, you’d have to aim higher or lower depending on the degree to which you were facing east or west. If you were firing due east, you’d have to aim six inches lower, since the earth rotates from west to east and your target would have dropped away from you slightly by the time the bullet arrived. If you were firing due west, you’d have to aim six inches higher”.
        See any difference?

Suffice to say that his sources of information arent what he makes them out to be,DaveH.He may be giving you the facts as he sees them, but whether they are establishable facts, remain to be seen.
His source is likely the internet, and you can well know that not everything you see on the internet is available as established fact.
Had a friend send me an e-mail of the worls largest catfish caught supposedly behind a Chinese dam.But upon inspection of the e-message and the accompanying photo,I noticed five slits in the side of the”catfish”,which told me(from knowledge I obtained before I was ten)that it was a species of shark. It wasI concluded fronm patient reflection of the pic,a juvenile whaleshark.
This e-mail was being sent all over hells halfacre, inviting folks to believe what I nearly immediately saw as a fabrication,as the worlds largest catfish.Snopes be damed if I would buy it though.
Flashman reminds me of folks like that who buy that type of jargon, and will even use it for political gain.

I don’t believe that Ron Paul or anybody else can put a stop to what’s happening to the WORLD economy. Almost six months to the day before he was assassinated, JFK signed EO 11110 which stripped the Fed of most of it’s powers and set up the silver standard. An order that still exists on the books but has never been enacted! I wonder why?!

I truly believe that what we’re seeing here is the fulfillment of Bible prophecy! Go ahead and laugh!!! Will you be able to eat your silver and gold?!

“Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” – James 5:1-8

Yeah, it’s tough to eat silver and gold,Tom. That’s why those of us who prepare have other necessities as well. Including armament to defend it from the zombie hoardes that are headed our way within the next 5 years if Dr. Paul is not elected.

If Ron Paul is the answer to the ills of the United States government, why the heck can’t he explain his ideas in the debates? His answers are rambling and unclear to us poor Americans who would like to have what you say he would provide.

    • Ken

We are electing a president and not a talk show host. Most Americans are conditioned to elect a talk show host. That’s how we got obama. What matters is that he’s smart. Why don’t you be smart too and READ what he’s all about from his website.

    • Les

Germany got one of those great orators, his name was Adolf Hitler. We got one of those great orators too in the last election. I want someone that can actually get us out of the coming economic train wreck, not more of the same brilliant orators.

      • John

Hitler ran on conservative principles, on family values, a stable currency, strong military, secure borders and to restore the country and the pride of the Germans. So the message is not that different. it turned out different and bad but that was because the german constitution had no safeguards against dictatorial abuse, plus Hitler suspended it pretty early into his reign, but gosh, I sure wish we had a conservative like Ron Paul with the oral skills of ole Adolph. There would be no problem at all getting him elected.

      • revnowwhilewecan

Great point!! If Paul could just take all of Hitler’s speeches and change the word “Jew” to “Centralized Banks” He’d be in office in no time. Then during the “night of the broken glass” we could burn the Federal Reserve backed notes. Also on the “night of the long knives” instead of killing all the bank c.e.o.’s and congressional supporters, we could put them all on trial and jail them as treasonist’s! Then a true revolution could begin!

      • Mark in LA

No I would suggest a banker drop. March them to the top of their office towers and see what magical powers they have since the media is always telling us how great they are. Maybe they can fly?

    • steve in AZ

Perhaps his explanations are at a higher level than you are able to understand with your non-integrated concept of reality. He has 90 seconds to make his points in a debate scenario, as a rule. We’re truly sorry that the principles he espouses are beyond your comprehension.

      • libertytrain

oh dear, not all of us are choosing to write text. Some of us will always use real English…

  • Ken

I am voting for Ron Paul even as a third party candidate. It’s everyone else’s turn to change their vote to, what they consider, the lesser of two evils because I will not (nor will a lot of other Ron Paul supporters). Did you read Drudge yesterday? India has decided to dump the dollar for oil purchases and buy oil from Iran with gold. The use, by the world, of the dollar for oil purchases and banking transactions is what causes it to have worth here in the US. Hyperinflation is the biggest threat that America faces. Unless we fix our economy by treating the disease and not the symptoms (ie audit/end the Fed and make our currency worth something again), foreign aid and foreign military bases won’t mean a thing because the countries we aid and occupy will no longer accept dollars.

The economy and foreign relations are tied together. Our dollar is only backed by the world’s faith in our government that we’re “good for it”. Check around the world and you’ll see that we are really hated around the world. Why? Because our government tries to rule the world by force, bribes, and blackmail. The world is losing faith in both our dollar and our government. Soon, they will rebel against both. When they do, they will still be able to buy a toothbrush or (insert whatever item you want here) because they produce them. We, on the other hand, will have access to none of these things because we don’t produce them and won’t be able to afford them.

The rebelling has already begun. Iraq tried to use another currency for oil purchases and we bombed them. Libya also tried, and we bombed them. Iran is next. But, what about the nuclear power India? Russia is going to stop using the dollar. Will we bomb them? China wants to stop using the dollar also, although their economy is more closely tied to ours. Will we bomb them?

Think about these things while you’re out trolling for newt or romney or santorum or whoever it is that you like. I don’t hear them talking about these economic facts. I hear Ron Paul talking about them. That’s what doctors are supposed to do. They are supposed to cure the disease and not just treat the symptoms. The wheelbarrow story is right on the money (pardon the pun).

    • http://yahoo.com ted

yea waste ur vote and lose and let obama win 4 more years. sounds like ur more democrate then republican.sure does make a hole lot of sense.gooooo obama bumper stickers are now available.and i dont want you to complain when it happens.

      • Mark in LA

How long have we heard the crap about wasting your vote. Now you add that somebody is not a Republican but actually a Democrat. How about being an American? Just because I may have voted at one time for a Republican doesn’t mean this party of turds owns my vote forever. When they bring me a candidate I can support I may start voting for them again.

  • Robert

I constantly hear talk show hosts lamenting that their aren’t any Jeffersons or Maddisons anymore in America running for office. How our country needs Constitutionalists like these again. Well, I watched the last debate and saw three Hamiltonians and one Jeffersonian on that stage and the Jeffersonian lost the primary. Americans really doesn’t want a Constitutionalist in the Oval Office. They think he’s dangerous. Yes, I suppose liberty is a dangerous idea when a nation hasn’t experienced it in generations. What they are more concerned about is which middle eastern nation we can bomb next. We have become a warrior nation. A land of 21st century marauding Vikings. I voluntarily served my nation behind the Iron Curtain for a decade and have become ashamed with this violent teenage video game mentality we have adopted in our foreign policy. There is a reason why Dr. Paul gets the most active military donations than all the others combined. You warmongers out there should listen to the service people who you want to send back into the desert to satisfy your ghoulish blood thirsty appetites.

    • DaveH

      Very Good, Robert.

    • revnowwhilewecan

Agreed Robert. The reason that so many people are afraid of Paul is because of all the crap that is regurgitated over and over in the MSM. Most people get their news from one source. Then there’s the other, even smaller population that say’s “We’ll I’m no dummy. I’ll watch reports that have fundamentally different views and make my decision from there.” Then they start to tell all who will listen and say, “I know what I’m talking about, I watch all different news sources.” Then it soon becomes “common knowlege” that Paul is “dangerous” and a “crackpot”. I agree, Paul getting elected would not change much as far as congress is concerned, therefore leading potential Paul supporters away in favor of someone more “electable”. What Paul would be in office is a seismic shift in congressional thinking because when the people are in line with the President and Congress is not, there will soon be Congressmen changing there tunes or not being re-elected. It is for this reason that no matter who gets the “nod”, I will be writing Ron Paul on the ballot in November. BTW I’m a 41 yr. old 1st time genX voter. There’s reasons for that. ;)

  • Noah

After watching Ron Paul in the last debate, I’m thoroughly convinced that he is NOT a good fit o be the next president of the United States.
He seemed more like another Jimmy Carter, save the world flower child, from the 60′s, you know the ones that marched around, with signs/l “Stop the war in Vietnam”.
Can’t have that today, with countries like Iran, and Islamic Neanderthals threatening the West.

The problems we are encountering with Iran today are the results of the mishandling from the Jimmy Carter administration. Ron Paul is running for president a bit late, he should have done so about 40 years ago.

Seems that Obama is a better candidate than Ron.

    • Ken

Actually, our problem with Iran started in ’53 when we installed the Shaw. My God, you mainline republicans are as dumb as the democrats. That’s the problem with America today. While most of us were sitting in front of our television sets and being apathetic, the world was surpassing us and organizing against our government that we left unchecked. You party guys are either too stupid to see the problems or you like things this way.

“I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice” — Barry Goldwater 1964.

      • s c

DaveH, Goldwater’s mistake was in not understanding that Americans weren’t ready for a crash course in patriotism. If Goldwater had functional advisors, the election might have been different. All it took to beat Goldwater was a TV commercial and a liar’s liar, drooling at the thought of erasing JFK’s memory.
What we got was a Texas loser who sold his arse so he could get rich off the Vietnam War [ala Hughes Aircraft]. In effect, when Hueys were shot down, Hughes’ ability to keep new helicopters in the pipeline kept the war going – and LBJ lined his pockets. We certainly got a REAL ‘winner’ when we got LBJ. Is there any doubt why or how LBJ became a utopian icon?

I can’t think of anybody that would be better at getting our country back on track than Ron Paul. He has told us exactly whats he intends to do if elected and has been saying it for years. You are spot on about the fact it’s an “either-or” decision. Vote Ron Paul or vote for more of the same garbage both parties have given us for decades. Only Paul understands the monetary system. Not Mitt, Newt, or Rick. They don’t even talk about it. Newt is now receptive to taking on the Fed, but I doubt he means it. He’s the world’s biggest liar/panderer. Romney must be getting bank money, and Rick doesn’t have a clue. I would print your fine article per se, no changes, giving you and your company attribution of course. 1. stop being afraid about how the elections will turn out! just keep up the faith and Ron Paul will be the next president.

    2. it all started with Woodrow Wilson, not with FDR, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton or either of the two Bushes; all following presidents were directly or indirectly controlled by the banks; Ron Paul is not “unelectable”, he is the only electable person on all sides – especially if you consider the US Constitution as the measure of electability.

You won’t have the chance to vote for him on election day unless everyone gets out there to their state’s primaries and ESPECIALLY caucuses! Caucus for Ron Paul! It is so important. If you want to vote for him in the general election, then make that a possibility by dragging all your friends and families to the caucuses. Ron Paul needs those delegates and he can get them!

    • DaveH

Actually, cris, it started with “honest” Abe, who trampled the Constitution and re-introduced Mercantilism to the Federal Government, thus paving the way for further trampling by Woodrow Wilson.

  • Doc Franklin

I like Paul’s economic policies and his take on the Federal Reserve. When it comes to the military and foreign Policy, he’s largely out to lunch. I can’t tolerate his anti-semitism, and when it comes to his take on the Middle East, he’s an abject idiot. He is unelectable. If he attempts a third party run, he will absolutely guarantee Odumbo’s re-election. And should he do that, it would prove his own ego and edification are more important than the survival of the Republic.

    • cris

being principled is not egotistical; i don’t think dr. Paul is out just to be right; he’s not debating for the sake of debating, like Newt Gingrich; as far as foreign policy goes, he’s out for free trade, not for “you have something we want and we’re going to get it”; also, I don’t think he’s “anti-” anything, he’s just pro US Constitution, unlike any one of the other candidates; not siding with any, doesn’t prove he’s egomaniac, it just shows his consistency towards the rule of law; if that qualifies him for the “abject idiot” part, you may wish to reconsider your views on the constitution and its applicability to governing the United States.

      • Bogusbob

If he is so consistant, why dosen’t he run as a the libertarian he is?? He couldn’t get elected. So the ignorant in Texas went to bed one night and poof! I am a repube now so vote for me. Once he closes all our bases overseas, he might as well shut down the country. How long do you think it would take the oil supplying countries to start holding out for higher prices?? Paul is not electable.

      • Mark Anthony Jones

According to Ronald Reagan, libertarianism is the heart of the Republican party – it’s just too bad, I guess, that some people believe in principles so strongly that they would leave the party and create their own libertarian party rather than fix the republican party. But many are coming back and we are here to kick the neocons out that came over from the democrats during the vietnam war, i.e. Irving Cristol, etc. This is MY party and the neocons are soon to be in the minority with the people awakening and running for precinct committeemen and women. Ron Paul is the heat of the party – there is NO one more consistent and consistently correct. HE will not be here forever, but his philosophy will!

Some of us are tired of voting for the lesser of evils (evil is still evil) and we are going to stand on principle – something the R or D parties no longer have. So if Ron Paul is not the nominee – we will be writing him in and you will get 4 more years of Obozo while we get behind some on else for 2016 that holds the original principles of the party. If our choices are Police State Obozo or Police State Gingrich or Wiffle Waffle Romney, I’ll choose none of the above! But sadly, the Republic will be largely gone by 2016 unless Ron Paul wins the nomination.

I appreciate your comments. I would just ask you to learn as much as you can about the truth behind the Middle East and Israel. He has explained his stance many times but the Media keeps telling you its a real story. Ask yourself who runs the media? Then please reconsider your news source. At least you are monitoring this Website. I am a Christian who believes in Dr. Paul’s foreign policy. I believe it is Biblical and sound. I support Israel. However, the U.S. is giving 4 times as much aid to Israel’s enemies as we are to Israel. Is it support if we are giving more money to Israel’s enemies? Please reconsider your stance for Israel and her enemies. Ron Paul says to remove all foreign aid yet stand for Israel as a true ally if she needs our help and we declare war according to the constitution.

Ceasing to deal with other nations with threats of violence, and promoting non-intervention, nation building, and policing the world… Not only because its a policy that promotes peace and prosperity, but because it is also bankrupting, is a far cry from being ‘out to lunch’ or any kind of idiot. I find that those who think so are largely talking to themselves in the mirror when it comes to being an idiot. Stop letting your fear make your judgements. It makes you stupid.

    • Ken

Guess what Doc. I am voting for Ron Paul even as a third party candidate. It’s your turn to change your vote to, what you consider, the lesser of two evils because I will not (nor will a lot of other Ron Paul supporters).

      • John

So, I wonder if we now invade India next and get rid of its rightful government like we did with others that went the same way? I foresee that all of OPEC will dump the dollar soon.

      • Old Henry

        Ken:

I guess that means we will be bombing India next.

And it’s One, Two, Threeeee what are we fightin’ four? I don’t know, I don’t give a damn…

    • kokie

If you are afraid of Ron Paul then you need to stop listening to Hannity, Limbaugh , Levin and Beck and do some homework to educate yourself…Name calling won’t make you smarter either. Stop drinking the koolaid and really study the issues and the history of his positions. I did out of curiosity and found myself a supporter. I am not blond or under 34. I am highly educated and have served in the military. So do not try to give me the usual pigeonhole labels either. Do not be afraid to educate yourself and potentially change your mind.

      • Jessie

I love this – a woman with a mind. Even if others don’t like what she has to say. I applaud you, kokie

      • revnowwhilewecan

Kokie you are so right. The problem is, like I’ve stated in an earlier post, is that even the people that get their news from so-called “left and right” sources think that because that the are both spewing the same agenda based bias’s then they naturally think it must be true. The best advice you can give is to try and decide which news sources are “left and right” and direct them to sources that are truely independant and report the news as it actually is, without agendas. I’m a 1st time genX voter and a proud Paultard!

    • Ted Crawford

Another potential problem with Dr. Pauls candidacy arises from the, thankfully, small, but exceptionaly acrimonious, and highly virulent group of supporters. Interestingly enough populated in significant numbers by the same idealistic youth that in 2008, preformed the same function for Obama! If, as many of them threaten, they simply write him in! Given what, I believe, will be a very tight race, this might just be enough to insure four more years of Obama!

      • MJ

I think it is time for Americans to get on the same page regarding Ron Paul. The problem I have with just voting for anyone who wins the rep. nomination is that they represent more of Obama. We know with Ron Paul the man is being true to everything he says, the others are just saying what they have to in order to get elected. I have to vote for someone who has remained constant in his platform. That is Ron Paul.

      • Chaslie

Ron Paul is pro same-sex marriage and pro legalizing recreational drugs. How is that different from Obama?

      • Mark Anthony Jones

Get a grip – you are apparently listening to the mainstream media lies, the media that are threatened by a Paul presidency. Ron Paul is the most conservative member of Congress since 1937. See for yourself–

        http://www.voteview.com/is_john_kerry_a_liberal.htm

      • Chaslie

I heard Ron Paul with my own two ears on either the Leno or Letterman show (I don’t remember which) declaring just that. When asked if two people of the same sex should be allowed to marry he said, “Sure, why not?” It doesn’t get any plainer than that.

      • TML

Ron Paul isn’t “pro same-sex marriage” per say. He merely recognizes that such things are within the confines of religious, or personal, conviction. To make a law against same sex marriage not only would respect an establishment of religion, but would also prohibit the free excersise of it. Not to mention, gay marriages neither hurt others physically nor does it take money forceably from their pockets. Such laws would be tyrannical, and while he may not agree with gays or lesbians from a personal moral standpoint, he concedes that it is not ‘American’ to force ones own beliefs on others through law.

And no, he isn’t for legalizing ‘recreational’ drugs. He merely points out that it is not the authority of central government to tell us what we can and can not consume, whether it be that big mac and fries that’s bad for you, or a drug that’s bad for you. He points out that States have the right to regulate drugs, and if a state legalizes (or more accurately, decriminalizes) a drug for medicinal use, then the federal government does not have the authority to over-ride state laws, per 10th Amendment.

Would YOU run out and start doing methamphetamine, herion, or marijuana if it was completely legal? I doubt it. You don’t need laws to protect you from yourself.

It is sometimes said that a man can not be trusted with the government of himself. Can he then, be trusted with the government of others?

      • Chaslie

Pure Libertarianism doesn’t work because people need standards of conduct in order to get along with each other. For example, if I want to walk around in public naked, or even have sex in public, that technically doesn’t infringe on anyone’s rights, does it. But for most people that is not acceptable. That is why we have rules that govern our day-to-day lives.

Another reason I don’t agree with Ron Paul is because he doesn’t consider the detrimental effects of bad behavior. One of the basic reasons that societies make certain behaviors illegal is to mitigate their influence on people, especially the young. Furthermore, as a nation, allowing bad behavior to go unfettered is in effect giving approval.

        Libertarianism is a utopian idea.

      • TML

        Chas

Try not to think in terms of labels, its often narrow-minded. Pure Totalitarianism doesn’t work anymore than pure Libertarianism.

The Constitution is the middle ground. If must use labels, I would think it most proper to label Ron Paul a Constitutionalist.

Where your examples fails is that it is in terms of being “public”. Gay marriages and drug legalization is quite different. When a couple marries, gay or not, that is between them and, if your religious, God… No one else. Drugs have to do with personal sovereignty. You can not legislate ‘good’ behavior or personal moral which violate a persons sovereignty over their own bodies. Should we allow that fat guy to keep eating big macs? Should we allow people to cover themselves with tattoos because it might influence our youth? Should we ban skydiving or other sports because of the danger and influence of our children? If people are digusted with two guys kissing, should we make it illegal? And who gets to decide these standards of conduct? A majority? Then your talking about mob rule which doesn’t work either. The fact is, you can not legislate morality or force others under a subjective opinion of good behavior. That is what never has, and never will work.

“Furthermore, as a nation, allowing bad behavior to go unfettered is in effect giving approval.”

Absolution is a logical fallacy. Recognizing that I have the right to be a self-destructive idiot if I want to, because I own me, does not by absolution default as approval.

      • Chaslie

I shake my head everytime I hear someone say “you can’t legislate morality”. I think people miss the point entirely of that statement. True, you can’t make people moral (like you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink) but you can make laws against immorality like murder, rape, and such.

Unfortunately, some people don’t make a distinction between what is moral and what is legal. For instance, surely you have heard people say, “it is legal so it must be alright”. So that is why there are laws that deal with moral issues.

Legalizing same-sex marriage or marijuana will have an impact on society and that is why many people are against legalizing them.

      • Chaslie

I also disagree with it is my own body so I can do with it what I please because it doesn’t affect anyone else. Not true. There are countless stories about families torn apart by an alcoholic or drug addicted parent. In addition there are numerous parents out there who are heartbroken because their children are addicted to drugs, etc. Don’t tell me that your behavior doesn’t affect anyone else.

      • TML

Chas says, – “I shake my head everytime I hear someone say “you can’t legislate morality”. I think people miss the point entirely of that statement. True, you can’t make people moral (like you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink) but you can make laws against immorality like murder, rape, and such.”

You’re right… we should always complete the idea when making that statement. That idea being that you cannot legislate morality… when it violates the equal rights of others.

A wise man once said, “Rightful Liberty is the unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add, “within the limits of the law” because law is often but the tyrants will, and always so when it violates the equal rights of others.” ….And that idea is all that should restrain a free people.

Murder, obviously, takes everything away. Rape physically forces one against their will… etc. These are moral laws that protect the equal liberties of all.

Gay marriage and the choice of others to do drugs neither picks your pocket or breaks your leg.

Chas says, “Unfortunately, some people don’t make a distinction between what is moral and what is legal.”

I do… the is a very distinct different in the concepts of morality and legality.

Chas says, – “Legalizing same-sex marriage or marijuana will have an impact on society and that is why many people are against legalizing them.”

It will… a very positive one, in my opinion… for reasons as I’ve been trying to explain. Especially about same sex marriage simply because that doesn’t hurt anyone. It just disgusts you or oppose it base on religious values only. It’s your job to pass those religious values onto your children, not the government. Drug legalization not only for reasons I’ve mentioned, but because history also has blatantly taught us, even in our own history and proceeding to this day with a failed drug war (don’t get me started, lol)… that Prohibition does not work!

Chas says, – “I also disagree with it is my own body so I can do with it what I please”

        I feel sorry for you

      • Chaslie

I just have one more statement and then I’ll shut up. Libertarians giving the nod to same-sex marriage reminds me of people who say they are pro-choice when it comes to abortion. Being pro-choice is an oxymoron.

If you support allowing people to choose to have an abortion even though you wouldn’t do it yourself you are still pro-abortion because you are condoning it.

If you support allowing people to choose to enter into same-sex marriage even though you would do it yourself you are stil pro-homosexual because you are condoning it.

And until it can be proven to me that homosexuality is not an immoral act then I am not going to support it by condoning same-sex marriage.

      • Chaslie

Oops, I should proof read before hitting the post comment button. In regards to same-sex marriage I mean’t even though you wouldn’t do it yourself.

      • Chaslie

Don’t get me started on whether Prohibition worked or not. It was doomed from the get-go because our government made sure the enforcement of it was underfunded for one. Furthermore, alcohol is legal and it didn’t solve the problem with alcoholism or drunk driving now did it.

As for same-sex marriage it does hurt society because it condones immorality. If same-sex marriage becomes legal then it will be taught in schools that there is no difference between heterosexual and homosexual marriage and therefore, there is nothing wrong with same-sex.

Like I said earlier, you can’t be pro-choice because it is not a neutral position. Being for same-sex marriage is no different than being against same-sex marriage. You are still trying to impose your morals on the rest of society.

      • TML

“If you support allowing people to choose to have an abortion even though you wouldn’t do it yourself you are still pro-abortion because you are condoning it.”

That can’t be, because, I don’t condone abortion… I have 5 children myself and find it generally appalling… but I concede that it isn’t ‘my’ choice. And my children are against abortion, but concede it is not their choice to make for others. What if a situation in the world exists in which a mother is given (through medical difficulties) a choice between her life, or the life of her baby? Should a law exist that takes away that mother’s choice? What of situations in which a pregnancy is a result of rape? Where do ‘we’ draw the line for others?

“If you support allowing people to choose to enter into same-sex marriage even though you would do it yourself you are stil pro-homosexual because you are condoning it.”

The same concept applies… I do not condone homosexuality, but concede that the sexual preferences of others is not my choice and does not affect me or the life of my children.

      • TML

It was doomed from the get-go because our government made sure the enforcement of it was underfunded for one. Furthermore, alcohol is legal and it didn’t solve the problem with alcoholism or drunk driving now did it.

I disagree… alcohol prohibition did not fail because of underfunded force. Prohibition itself funded the newly created criminals which dared engage in the exponentially profitable task of supplying a black market demand. Think about this… if drugs were legal, every dealer and clandestine drug lab, would immediately close down… they couldn’t compete with companies producing a purer, safer (as opposed to unregulated), and consistent product for much lower prices. All dangerous drug gangs would be out of business. Every dime of what would be used to force such laws could be spent on real violent crime prevention, and education about drugs. All users would be decriminalized, encouraging addicts to seek help as a medical condition. Non-violent people would not be shot to death by agents raiding a home over possession a mere ounce of a naturally grown weed. Force doesn’t solve these issues… education does.

“If same-sex marriage becomes legal then it will be taught in schools that there is no difference between heterosexual and homosexual marriage and therefore, there is nothing wrong with same-sex.”

Nonsensical… marriage is not taught in schools and therefore gay marriage would not be. The only lessons which should be taught in schools regarding sex education is biological reproductive systems. The morals concerning sex, in all other forms, is the personal responsibility of the parents or guardian, not the school.

“Being for same-sex marriage is no different than being against same-sex marriage.”

I’m not for same-sex marriage, I’m for individual liberty, personal responsibility, and upholding the Constitution.

“ You are still trying to impose your morals on the rest of society.”

No, I’m trying to keep you from imposing yours

It’s becoming very clear that Dr. Paul’s message is the one America needs to adopt for a sound economy and stable society. He is always consistent and accurate with a growing following solid and loyal. Its not just the young that are enamored by his campaign but also many Independents,Progressives and Conservatives. He is trustworthy and that means so much in these times of distrust and misrepresentation. Americans are now wanting liberty and freedom more than ever…the restoration of the republic is now at hand. Ron Paul 2012.

      • Les

You just keep right on believing that tripe. Sound monetary policy is something this country better get a grip on real soon. Or do you really believe you can keep print monopoly money so your federal government can keep spending close to 4 trillion dollars annually? What’s really funny is that most people don’t even understand that we have more debt than there are actual dollars. Money is literally created out of thin air by the banks.

      • Chaslie

On the plus side, money that is literally created out of thin air can also be literally destroyed out of thin air.

I don’t think Ron Paul is anti-Semitic as some people suggest. He is anti-suppression of humanity. If he runs as a third party candidate and loses, there’s no difference in whether Obama or a republican wins because they’re all the same. The only reason Dr. Paul “can’t” be elected is that the American president is chosen and controlled by the world bankers, and not the American people. There are too many people who rally for Dr. Paul for him not to be elected and we can only suggest that there’s much fraud in the voting system that needs to be investigated.

We need wheelbarrows to take to Washington D.C. and haul the destructive, insane beings out of the D.C. taxpayer offices to other taxpayer buildings known as loony bins or insane asylums. Either that or put them into a detox program because the drugs the CIA has shipped into America for the past 6 or 7 decades has destroyed their minds. So much so that they’re willing to dangle on a string and read teleprompters for the sake of living the high life like their gods – the world bankers. At the same time they’re deceiving or brainwashing the entire world that there’s ‘evil’ people who want to destroy us. Uh, Bush and Obama, it’s the effects and hallucinations of the drugs because nobody actually wants to harm America except your banker friends who fill their pockets with blood money.

No, Triumph, they’re not insane or drugged, they are simply feathering their own nests and those of their Crony Capitalist supporters at the citizens’ expense. It is the typical behavior of those Sociopathic people who strive to secure positions of Leadership. Good people generally don’t have the inclination to push other people around and take their money.

      • Mark in LA

There is an organized smear campaign from the left as well as the right because the left knows only Ron Paul can beat Obama. The right calls him anti-semtic because “he wants Iran to get a nuclear bomb” or “he hates Israel” neither of which are true. The left tries to smear him with the “racist” canard based on some 20 year old newsletter.

When any of this is brought up, you have to ask yourself if there is any documented instance of Ron Paul actually doing something that affected somebody in a negative way where Paul’s motivation was animosity to a race or Jews? No there is not, so trying to pin these titles on him because of what somebody else believes is what the smear is all about.

Racist and anti-semite have lost all meaning today. The best way to look at them is this: a racist is somebody a “person of color” doesn’t like and an anti-semite is a person a Jew doesn’t like.

Am I a racist because I read and know that the violent crime rate is much higher in black neighborhoods? The left would have you think so. This is the nonsense of this thought policing.

    • DaveH

Indeed, Doc, you show your ignorance when you resort to the manipulative tactics of name-calling (“out to lunch”, “abject idiot”), misinformation (“He is unelectable”), , and fabricated facts (“his anti-semitism”, “it would prove his own ego and edification are more important than the survival of the Republic”).
Sober up, Doc, and start making factual, unemotional comments.

To call Dr. Ron Paul an anti-Semite is wholly inaccurate and even ridiculous. Ron Paul supports Israel’s sovereignty! It is the height of disrespect for our American government to believe that our government has all the answers and then to push those solutions on to other people or nations. When we do that, we literally are calling those other entities “incompetent” and they need us to “save them”. To Israel I would say, “Watch out for the Messiahs out there who are coming to save you. It is not unconditional! The price you pay for such “help” is allowing such “saviors” to now run your show.
To the American government I would say, “Who elected you God? You have so many problems in your own backyard that who are you to tell anyone else what they should or should not do! Clean up your own problems before you invite yourself to meddle in the affairs of others! I believe Israel agrees. Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu: You don’t need to send American troops to Israel, we defend ourselves.
As far as anyone being an abject idiot, please watch the debates and watch the other three GOP candidates and how their kindergarten bickering and fighting comes across to our country and other countries as childish and immature. I USED TO BE Republican. NOW I am for Ron Paul, regardless of what party he belongs too. He is mature and MAKES SENSE and knows economics better than any of the other 12-year-olds on stage combined. IF you are unable to see the difference, may you have four more years of Obama. Ron Paul supporters will NOT support the GOP and the GOP NEEDS HIM! Now who is not electable???

Congressman Paul is dead on with his foreign policy.

How about China setting up a few bases in CA, TX, IA, OH, NY and Russia setting up housekeeping in OR, OK, NE, Ga TN. And let’s have the Mexes set up in NV, CO MT, MN, PA, MS, NC.

Now, how would you like that? And while they are at it they will arrest at will, detain at will, bomb buildings / businesses.

Do you mean something like the address last night Flashman?
Is that the kind of wind with no substance you are speaking of?
        If so,then I agree.
Glad we can agree that moderate progressives,(as if anything like that exists)are wind with no substance.Same as their figurehead Omamba, the most poisonous snake in the world. His vitriol is next to a declaration of war on business and the economy, but his true intent is to cause suffering for those he thinks are culpable in creating poverty for the”African Americans”(also no such thing,it is only a crafty name given to those who expect entitlements:anyone who puts the place they came from before what they should be now is not what they should be now, namely Americans),and he expects those to pay for crimes they never committed.
Moreover, the speeches he makes with such eloquence are suggestions by the political elite that he works for,and not solutions the the inherent conditions. He thinks he can pull the wool over the eyes of people who are sick of rhetoric, and want to see real progress, instead of the kind the progressives are foisting on the populace. It would be hilarious if it werent being planned from the outset of his adminstration,to wait in campaign mode,to promise thhat which he has no intention of keeping.
        Modes of Operation.
“what you are thunders so loudly, that I cannot hear what you say to the contrary”-Ralph Waldo Emerson
We dont need speeches. We need action.Something that loudmouth progressives have shown by their destruction of all we love as Americans to be the exact opposite of what they are doing.
We dont need a picture painted to know that they are destuctive, they voted in the Fed during the wilson administration. That alone is reason to see their actions as evil both in intent and content.
Lies of omission come from their mouths like candy for folks who are childlike. They eat those lies and love their poisonous figurehead.

I’ll tell you what my problem with him sayong those things is…..
He’s got the talking part done.
Lets see how he is with the doing part, because so far…..bupkiss.
I have heard that man say all this before. For the last three years,I have heard him flap his lips, with no results.
The problem isnt with the opposition to his aims,it is with the way he intends to deal with the conditions.
Anybody can talk a good game, but this man has done nothing, ecxept create a division of attitudes, and incur more debt.
If those writing his speeches had any sand, they would figure out that the same old tired rhetoric from the 1960′s,is not a palpable solution to todays conditions.Heck if you had any sand you could see that.Problem is there is no sand.Nothing to build the sunshiny beach he portrays in his speech. His hot air can provide some measure of comfort to the people who think he has solutions, but the fact that there is nothing happening shows the separation between reality and his speechwriters solutions.
There is this air of wanting to hear, and someone is providing that which others want to hear. That is the most dangerous way to approach any situation.Saying what people want to hear is the Democrat solution to re-election,but it does little to remedy the conditions.
That is the difference between you and I,Mr./Ms.Flashman,I dont hear rhetoric,I ignore it.I hear content, and there is none issuing forthwith from this administration.
Creating more folks to divide monies which are not yet reckoned for in the expenditures, shows me the wreckless disregard for sanity that is common in our gubment. That is not a solution to anything, but attempting to aquire more deficit. That wont solve any conditions, rather it will serve to complicate them.
You leftists are completely off your rockers, and it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

The gold standard will NOT work because it’s price can still be dictated and swayed to suit those in power. Lincoln had it right with his “greenbacks” solution. The myth that printing more money will destablize the economy is a falsehood. It would only destablize the privatly owned, war financing banks that is the Federal Reserve. It’s not what backs the dollar that determines it’s value but who controls it’s quantity. Let me explain. If the gov’t reissued currancy and controlled it’s quantity, it could pay itself back with intrest, not be indebted to any private sectors and be out of debt in 10 years!! Every time a President tries to get away from the Rothchild’s and their associates they’ve been threatened with war, (Madison 1812), attemped assination, (Jackson 1836) and even killed, (Lincoln, Kennedy). Even the mention of a silver standard will get you killed, (Garfield I believe).

    • Vicki

actually it is not a myth. Printing paper (money) does destabilize any economy that accepts (or is forced to accept) it. Simple equation

      Supply / Demand.

This equation affects EVERYTHING including the objects used for money.

Thus a great increase in the supply of bits of paper with no corresponding increase in demand will ALWAYS reduce the value of the bits of paper.

When a person has a product they wish to sell such as a bushel of corn he/she sets the amount of bits of paper he will trade for that corn. When there is a lot more paper he will increase his price.

The average person will see an increase in the apparent cost of food.

This law can not be avoided. For centuries governments have tried. All have failed. Some more spectacularly than others.

    • Doc Franklin

The Gold Standard would in fact work, but you are correct regarding the Federal Reserve. It makes absolutely no sense to have a private bank control the Nation’s money and then borrow the money from that institution at interest. Wouldn’t we all love to have that concession. Thank you Woodrow! BTW, at this point no matter what, things have already deteriorated to the point that we will all need wheel barrows. Not just for all the paper fiat, but to clean up all the “Bull Butter” coming out of the “Idiot in Chiefs” mouth.

      • s

I second that notion, had to hold nose last night.

      • Alex Frazier

The reason a private bank loans us money is that the federal government is not delegated the authority to print money but to coin it, while they are delegated the authority to borrow on the credit of the United States.

The federal government, in short, is not permitted under the Constitution to print fiat currency. But a private institution is. And since our government has the authority to borrow, the system was born.

Thomas Jefferson had once said that if he could make one amendment to the Constitution, it would be to take away Congress’ ability to borrow. A central banking system can’t exist without a government’s ability to do so.

      • Vicki

“…while they are delegated the authority to borrow…”

An interesting point. What are they allowed to borrow? Anything? What can they pay back with?

    • Alex Frazier

revnowwhilewecan, the point of using a gold standard is to fix the value of the dollar relative to a commodity that is limited in supply. In theory, if the government decided to never print money except to replace old bills that are falling apart, then paper money would work just fine. But the very reason for the fiat paper money system is that it is elastic. Fiat money allows a government to deficit spend without the people realizing the damage the government is doing. The gold standard still allows the government to deficit spend via the “backed” paper money, but with a fixed standard upon which the dollar is valued, it becomes readily apparent what damage the government is doing. With actual gold, the government can’t deficit spend at all.

And printing more money does destabilize the economy. It creates inflation on goods and services, but does nothing for wages. When the Federal Reserve determines that the current rate of inflation isn’t “healthy” enough (i.e. there isn’t enough inflation), they inject the economy with a little QE.

      • Susie4Liberty

Just an eye opener for me re the Fed Reserve within the past several months: Fox Biz and Bloomberg(?) actually had a limited Open Records Request approved by the Court…to see just a ‘few’ of the ledger pages of the Fed. Striking was their having borrowed hundreds of billions from China (in our names, of course) and transferring the funds to the National Bank of Libya – a couple of days before the ‘take-over’ of Libya occurred. (Their Bank was FREE from the clutches of the Globalists, by the way…as was the Sovereign Country and ALL its assets.) Who has it NOW? Well, please tell me if you know; most certainly we owe China!

    • Chaslie

I agree. People are being mislead into thinking a gold standard will resolve everything. They need to read up on their history if they think that. The economic problems we have today we had back when people used gold. Don’t forget, in order for gold to have value and to be used as money the government had to set the value of it.

Anything can be used as money because in reality it is just a medium of exchange and therfore, it doesn’t have to be backed by anything. It is just a way of keeping a tally. As long as the amount of money in circulation is managed so their is not too little or too much then there will be equillibrium between supply and demand.

      • Alex Frazier

Actually, the most sound monetary period in history was when the Bezant was in circulation. It was known, and prized, for its consistent weight and purity.

Most other periods of history where economic crises erupted, it usually went hand in hand with the shaving of coins, plating, and other methods of deliberate debauchery of the coined currency. In other words, although they had gold coin, they still treated it the way they treat paper currency today. They found ways to devalue it while still declaring it by fiat as being of the same worth.

But Say’s law tends to get in the way. Bad money drives out good. When rulers like Hadrian tried to correct the problem in a lawful way by prescribing the death penalty on anyone debasing the coins, people would take the pure coins and hide them and spend all the debauched coins. Then Hadrian himself found that he couldn’t please everyone, and the poor started to get out of control because he wasn’t giving hand-outs to everyone who wanted one. But the wealthy cried out against an increase in taxes. So the brief experiment of pure coins towards the latter end of the Roman Empire ended almost as quickly as it began, because elastic currency is the only way for a government to please everyone once it has decided to take the burden of everyone upon its shoulders.

So gold works. It’s finite supply forces governments to spend within certain limits. If the coins themselves are not debauched, inflation is virtually impossible without someone striking gold somewhere. That’s why we went off the bimetallic standard. The silver rush disrupted the silver to gold ratio. Imagine if you will that it takes ten one dollar bills to get one ten dollar bill, and suddenly you found that every one dollar bill you had miraculously had an extra one dollar bill stuck to it. You could get twice as many ten dollar bills. That’s what was happening to gold. It took approximately 16 silver ounces to obtain one gold ounce. Then there was a silver rush, and the increased supply of silver, due to the exchange rate, put far more gold into people’s pockets than they should have been able to acquire.

Paper money, if it could be controlled rigorously, can work. But since no government can be trusted with the power of modern alchemy that converts our symbolic lead into fictitious gold, the power of the printing press needs to be abolished.

      • revnowwhilewecan

Thanx guys. I understand all of the point made but as you said Alex paper money could work but we don’t trust the gov’t because it is funded by the federal reserve. If they printed a new paper currency and it was rigorously monitored and distributed then it would NOT destablize the economy. As I’ve said it’s not what backs the dollar but who controls it’s quantity is the force that drives inflation.
@Vickie. I just read alot of the links you provided. Thank you but fogive me if I am weary of following the advice of any “movers and shakers” writing articles by or for the financial institutions of this planet.

      • revnowwhilewecan

Vickie, about all of the economies that have collapsed, they did so because the printing of more money was NOT monitored properly and the economies that printed NEW money did not DISTIBUTE it properly. I know it’s not easy but if you can effectivly print the correct amount of monies and distibute it properly then you can reinforce the notion the the dollar is worth what it’s actually worth.

      • revnowwhilewecan

@Vicki Sorry about spelling your name incorrectly. One more point about your simple equation, “supply and demand”. You are correct in that it is very simple. If you can properly print new monies in equal proportion to it’s demand then you can indeed keep an economy stable. No country that has been in an economic collaplse has been able to do this effectively thus giving the illusion that more “paper” into the system forces it’s destablization.

      • Vicki

No worries Revnowwhilewecan. Hope I spelled yours correctly though.:)

I agree that a stable balance between the supply of money and its demand would work but no human (other than me of course :) ) and no group can possibly be trusted with maintaining that balance. Simple conflict of interest makes it impossible.

Absent this we must look to natural (I.E. God or Creator or Nature or whatever) methods such as the intrinsic desire for/value of gold, silver, diamonds etc. Our Forefathers knew this which is why they chose to have in the Constitution the power to coin money and for states to only accept Gold or Silver coins for the payment of debt.

      • revnowwhilewecan

I with ya on that Vicki, that’s for sure!!

      • Mark in LA

The biggest problem with a gold standard is that a virtually useless blob of metal putting a brake on society unless more gold can be found. The wealth of society has grown exponentially while the amount of gold pulled out of the ground is very small. This also foolishly creates even more incentive to mine something with very littel real value.

I believe the first original money was a gold coin found on Crete. However the gold was not what really backed the money. A ram was imprinted in the coin and the king said the coin was worth a sheep. He backed it up by saying if it wouldn’t buy a sheep come to him and he will give you one from the royal treasury (flock). This is money with real value.

Why should gold keep the money supply in check when we can make billions of microchips each worth hindres of dollars if we want or millions of cars each worth tens of thousands of dollars? I don’t have an answer but gold isn’t it either. Should the prices and wages come down if more is produced and the money supply stays the same? How does that work when my mortgage doesn’t go down?

      • Brian

What is their ‘fair share’ warrior? EVEN if ALL the people making over 1 million per year paid ALL their income as taxes it still wouldn’t come close to the current federal deficit spending of over 1 TRILLION per year! You are confused…

      • Flashy

Well…from what we had began the new century with, then the GOP gave the wealthy the increased welfare of lower taxation and special tax breaks…we ran a deficit from a healthy surplus. Amazing eh?

      • Old Henry

Say Flashy, you being a real supporter of tax, tax, tax, how much extra do you send in to DC every year? Do you accept a refund every year rather than giving it back to your Big Daddy? Or, are you one of the 47 pecenters who pay nothing and get a refund to boot?

      • Flashy

Old Henry…I send in what the tax returns end up saying i have to send in. Which is not the point. What is wrong with asking those that benefit the most from the society we have built to pay a fair share instead of leeching off of the rest of us so we have to pay extra so they can get a subsidized ride?

Well Flashy , if you go back and check all the Presidents we have had in the 20th century up to the present , I think you will find that with few exceptions, the country has done well under a Republican president. And that under Democrats with rare exception it has always been tax and spend . It started big time under FDR , the wanna be lifetime president and was renewed by LBJ who literally had wet dreams and drooled about having a huge budget . The Carter was so ineffective and inept, I don’t believe he even knew what a budget was . And Bill Clinton was to busy seducing White House Aides to do much more than raise taxes . And the Moron America elected the last time is attempting to turn us into the new Communist Empire .
Ron Paul is no Republican , he is only running as one because he knows he hasn’t a hope as a Libertarian . However Mr Paul is a very loose cannon in the world of international politics . Read the comment of 56Chevy , they are dead on and I dread the thought of this old fool at the helm of this country . Isolationism is no longer a viable option in todays world . His beliefs about Iran, 9/11,the middle east etc. are frightening . I have fought in Viet Nam and nearly every action since plus a few no one knows of . Not because I love war but because I love my country and my children. I hope my sons never have to serve but I know they will be the first to line up to fight should they have to. And under Paul or the Commie in the Oval Office now they just might have to.
There is no perfect candidate seeking office now, they all have their faults. Some bigger than others . But unless we get rid of the leadership we have now, we are doomed to wake up one day a Communist nation with a dictator for life

      • steve

hey according to the 14th amendment it is unfair to raise taxes only on certain people…also I love how liberals spin it so it 1st starts out being “millionaires” are the ones who need to pay more in taxes…so what exactly is a milllionaire? Is it Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich or someone like me? I make 200k a year and live in Nothern Calif…after paying taxes on labor all year long still I have to pay an addtional 20k at the end of the year every year…I own my own business employ 10 people and work 11 hours a day…I would have to work 5 years to make a million dollars….200k isn’t alot of money here…so the point is it’s unfair to say someone like me who makes 200k or 250k is a millionaire and throw us all together with the Romney’s, Gingrich’s, and other elites who have millions and millions of dollars in assets…

      • Tom W.

        School ‘em Wyatt!!!

      • Old Henry

Well Flashy, it has everything to do with it. If you think the government should be able to steal more from one paerson (fair share) to give to another person then you should demonstrate your position by example. Put your money where your mouth is.

Then you folds need to define “rich” and “fair share”.

        $100K? $200K? $300K? 30%? 40%? 50%? Why not 90%? Or, 100%?

Who are the gods that make this decision in their infinite wisdom?

Any way you look at it, it is stealing from one to give to another. How about we take your car and give it to someone on the poor side of town who does not have a car, or a worn out car? You have a better car than they so you are rich.

      • Chaslie

The wealthy paying the same rate as the rest of us would be their “fair share”.

      • Flashy

Maybe…in some cases same rate taxation would be appropriate. But when the someone uses more of the societal resources and benefits than most, perhaps they should have to ay a bit more for those benefits they use.

And i fail to see how a system is fair and balanced as someone who doesn’t work for the income portion yet receives a much lower tax rate than the guy who sweats for a living.

      • Chaslie

I was referring to wealthy people like Mitt Romney or Warren Buffet who only pay 15%.

I think I know what you are alluding to, but could you clarify it?

      • Flashy

henry…sure. Let’s take Paris Hilton for an example 9to keep Mitt politics out of conversation). OK..she receives income from ‘passive investments”…stock, mutual funds etc. Doesn’t lift a finger for that income. With the write offs and tax breaks and playing the ta game, she pays 15% or less from that income. Hasn’t done a thing except it’s in the hands of some money manager.

She drives past a guy fixing the potholes in the street. That poor slob has little to invest, breaks his back, rips up his body, and sweats for a living. He pays almost double the tax rate.

        I ask…is that fair?

And that’s not bringing into the equation the roads, the infrastructure, the educated workforce, the training, etc society pays for which she is able to utilize to make money from her direct businesses.

        Is all that fair?

We give her a tax break…we either have to pay for it ourselves via higher taxes…or we have to go without services which we enjoy…ie. medicare, SS, roads, clean environment, cops, fire, ambulance, post office, parks, etc…

        Is that fair?

      • Tom W.

If you pay the same 15% across the board, 15% of a Mill is a lot more money than 15% of 20K. So the wealthy are paying more taxes! Duh… I’m a blonde and I even understand that!!!

      • Flashy

Disposable income the same as well?

      • danN

if we all paid 15%, then we would all be paying the same proportion of our income. 15% is 15%. doen’t matter how much you make.

      • Old Henry

What is overlooked is that the money she invested was taxed before she ivested it, and probably at 35%. So, she is actually paying around 50% on that money. And that is just to the feds.

I know all about “class warfare, redistribution of wealth and Socila Justice” What characters like Obummer do is to take from the rich, take from the poor, and then everybody becomes poor, except the ruling power elite and party loyals.I’ve never seen a poor man hire someone or create a job! Only the rich and small businessmen create jobs. What this man in the white house is doing is dividing the nation along racial and class lines! Its horrible to think that he will be elected another 4 years because the welfare minorities now have the power to elect a president like him again! God help us!

      • Flashy

NO ONE is begrudging folks making money Nad. that’s a false claim and is used to evade the real issue. Just pay a fair share for what you use. You make a lot of money, you use more than the guy making less.

It is not a fight against wealth…it’s a fight against the welfare system for the rich. Just pay for what you use. Easy concept.

      • speedle

Tell me Flashy, exactly how do some (wealthy) benefit more from “societal resources” than others (non wealthy). Do they drive on the public roads more? Do they use the police or fire department more? Do they receive more unemployment checks, food stamps, etc?

      • ohoh

Actually, it’s not so easy when you keep mixing earned income with capital gains and other apples and oranges Buffett-style arguments and then ignore the fact that part of success in the American Dream is evolving with an opportunity to invest one day…an opportunity that we all share. Just because I wait tables to get myself through school today, doesn’t mean I won’t have a portfolio to manage twenty years from now. And just because I make more and use more resources and infrastructure to produce it, doesn’t mean I don’t employ people, and haven’t paid for it along the way just like, or even more than you. In fact, I probably put more net value into the system than those who didn’t, which makes your argument fundamentally wrong (but that doesn’t compute with collectivists). There are inequities, but not all of them are unfair and those that are, are generally caused by special interest politics, not the basic system that has served us so well and that we should be trying to preserve and protect rather than tearing down on blind hope and other such nonsense.

      • ohoh

Aren’t they part of We the People? Didn’t they pay for the infrastructure as well? This is the problem with these Elizabeth Warren types.

      • ChristyK

Welfare is when you get something for nothing. The rich pay almost all of the taxes. We are fast approaching the point where 50% don’t pay any taxes. How are the rich who pay for everything you receive from the government not paying their fair shair? How can you say that someone who pays 15-35% of their earned income is subsidized? There is no logic in what you say. There is no way that these people who pay hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars in taxes are ever going to get that much in benefit. They are paying for all of the people who pay nothing. They are paying for all of the freeloaders.

You bring up examples like Paris Hilton, but that is not the situation of most of the people that your tax policies would effect. Most are business owners that work extremely hard for their money and risk everything. If you have never started a business you have no idea of the work, stress, and risk put into running a business. You only see the benefit after that person has worked for decades. Even the capital gains tax of 15% that you complain about is not what you make it out to be. The corporate profit is taxed and then the dividends/capital gains are taxed. Because of double taxation, the total tax is much higher than you or I pay.

Investing in businesses helps business to grow which creates jobs and raises tax income. If the taxes on investment are too high, investors will not be willing to risk their hard-earned wealth because of the risk of losing it all (like the bond holders of GM). If the risk is higher than the benefit, nobody will invest. Then companies will be unable to raise funds to start or to grow. Business will stagnate. The only reason to raise taxes on the rich is to make everyone equally poor rather than give people the opportunity to make the most of themselves with the only limit being their imagination.

      • Flashy

Ok..let’s see if some of this sinks in. Currently, in the ranking of industrialized nations we rank at the bottom in income distribution. yes…at the bottom. Below that of Mexico fer chrissakes.

Want more? GDP measures the income of this nation. Correct? Since 1980, GDP has grown i believe something like 56% (I believe that is correct). Income for wage earning families? Try 7%. That’s wage earners mind you. The people who are the job creators..they buy things, which means manufacturers have to make things.

Want more? There are pages and pages of data showing since 1980 the disparity of income is widening, and the burden on the middle class growing.

Now..who uses our resources was asked. Trucks, planes, mining, airwaves, roads, defense, police, fire, health services, beaches, parks water supplies, air, timber, energy, on down the line.

Now…the guy rolling up his sleeves and breaking his back pays about 30% of his income. Add in health insurance, retirement, housing payment, clothes etc… and he has little left over but to have a night bowling or shooting pool and a pitcher of beer. Do the math on an income of $40 K and a family of three.

Someone making in the neighborhood of $1 mil/year. They pay 15%.

Yes…if you do the numbers the wealthiest pay about 50% of the tax revenue, and recieve 80% of the money flow. On top of that, they have far more disposable income with which to enjoy the benefits of a nation with highly educated workforce, decent roads, decent transportation etc.

OK…even it up. Raise the levels of taxation on the wealthy to equal that of the poor slob breaking his back to create the benefits for those that take showers in the morning. Because we do need to increase taxes AND reduce spending to make it past this fiasco which the GOP placed us in with their insane policis and lies since 1980. For THAT was when it all became unbalanced and that imbalance has grown every year since.

To quote “you can look it up”.

      • John Woodbury

Hey Flushy, I hope you can understand this, your second grade public education does not help, I am sure. The rich do already pay more taxes. 15% of $1,000,000 is more than 30% of $100,000. So what you and other social welfare people mean is give other people’s money to you.

      • amagi

        Dear Nadzieja Batki,
You are right; envy and greed (the lust for the unearned) is the
base for socialism, It seems Flashy does not mind people getting
rich just as long as he can take it away from them. As for the rich
“using more” (of what and how ?) they are also the ones creating the
jobs for the rest of us. He is against welfare for the rich. Good,
so am I. However, I am against welfare in general as it involves
taking from one (by government) and giving to another who has not
earned it. That’s theft. Voluntary charity I support any day.

      • Flashy

Get off the high horse…the wealthy are not job creators. The Job Creators are the Middle Class, the wage earners, the small businesses. The masses which, when they have disposable income, spend it.

The problem is, the wealthy and big Corporate America take and take, receiving their wlfare, and refuse to pay their fair share for being given a society which they have had the good fotune to have money.

If the wealthy are job creators, and their income has gone up 200+%…where are the jobs?

      • Holly Marcyoniak

        WRONG !!!

      • steve

hey flashy was the guy who signed into law the repeal of the Glass-Stegal act a Republician?….no….actually it was your idol democrat Bill Clinton after the bank lobbys spent $300 million to push it through….

      • Mark in LA

Yeah and I seem to remember Phil “Americans are whiners” Gramm writing the legislation and getting it passed. He thinks we whine when we don’t think bank and bankers should have gotten government money for nothing.

      • 45caliber

        Warrior:

I saw a comment from an economist not too long ago. Can’t remember where now.

But he said that if the government took every penny a person made over $50,000 a year, which means ALL the rich would be cut back to that amount, it would run the government for about 9 days.

Now how do they plan on paying for everything if they “tax the rich” and get them to pay “their fair share”? If all that money will only pay for 9 days of government business, the rest of it has to come from those of us making less than $50,000 a year – which means all the middle class has to pay off too.

The video is on youtube. It’s called “Eat the Rich.” It’s just under 10 min long, and worth every minute!

This should break it down in a way that even slow folks like you and flashy can understand…if this doesn’t help you to sort out reality from fantasy, nothing will…and there is no hope for you.

If they’re “earning” it…it’s theirs, period.
And “fair” is a concept of children and communists.
It doesn’t exist anywhere in nature or the real world.
It isn’t the rich that are screwing up the country…it’s the lazy.

What of his proposals did you find fault with with FF?

The tax releif to the working man?

Elimination of the tax subsidies for outsourcing?

The elimination of corporate welfare (i.e. Big Corp. America) while at the same time giving tax relief to small corporations?

        Job retraining?

        Infrastructure rebuilding?

elimination of Insdier trading by Congress?

Rule making to disallow any decision making influence on legislation affecting a business which a Congressional member holds an interest in?

Tax fairness and elimination of welfare for the rich?

        Sabving our auto manufacturers?

Encouraging manufacturers to stay in the country instead of outsourcing?

Wiping out bin Laden and attacking al Qaeda wherever they may be?

Consolidation of government agencies to streamline and make more eficient government?

What was it you objected to specifically?

        Soon…

First President to become DICTATOR of America.

      • Flashy

Alex…reading FF’s fictional list is entertaining though isn’t it? i wonder if he or anyone else will tell us what parts of Obama’s SOTU speech they object to. Seems to me he pretty much told Congress…you do this, I’ll sign it. I also noticed on every one of the above proposals i detailed out…the GOP leadershp sat stone faced and unmoving. makes you wonder how much our nation means to them.

Here’s their problem. If the House GOP cut the BS and actually sent single item bills to the Senate…they’d show they were serious about returning this nation to leadership. And we’d see if the Senate GOP had any backbone. The problem they have though is that every proposal Obama made last night is common sense and for the good of this nation. And that is one thing the GOP will not do…anything which helps this President, EVEN THOUGH it is good for this nation…they will not do.

Anyone who votes GOP this year is either a fool, an idiot, or anti American. And such is a fact.

And I believe that the actual film footage on the ground in Libya – from our “Humanitarian Mission” should be required viewing for all. Our drones may have ‘sanitized’ our rampage for us and the operators of the drones, but NOT for Libyan Citizens…and we killed tens of thousands. And they presented NO threat to us! WE just let the United Nations dictate to the USA, a Sovereign Country – supposedly – and took the Libyans and their beautiful Country OUT! We wanted their “STUFF” – their Natl Bank, gold and other precious metals, oil, AND their WATER/AQUEDUCT… And they HAD to fall…is part of the NWO AGENDA! Do all of you not see what’s happening?!

        Have you seen it, Flashy?

      • Old Henry

Yes Suzie, Little Barry bombed the most PROSPEROUS nation in Africa back into the Stone Age, and he did it illegally. For that alone Little Barry should be arrested, drug from OUR WH, tossed into a cell at Leavenworth, tried, convicted and hanged.

However, with the gutless, spineless, complicit Congress it willnot happen.

      • Flashy

By the way, if you voted for Ovomit to show you were not a racist. Then you must vote for Ron Paul to show you are not stupid. Or, you can get out of the way, and let those of us who know how to save our nation, do our job. Get it?

      • DG

Flashy– Wasn’t Obama”s $880 Billion for the shovel ready infrastructure jobs –and obama gave it to the the unions for their votes and he didn’t save GM- He gave GM to the unions for their votes– Bush may have driven the car in the ditch -I do not disagree with that at all– BUT Obama has us teetering on the edge of the cliff

      • Old Henry

        DG:

Maybe Little Barry gave all the money to the unions because he knew he was incapable of getting the car out of the ditch and he needed a 4 x 4 so he could continue to navigate the ditch.

When was th last time you used Carried Interest in your income tax calculations? Or depletion? Just to name a few.

      • OB1

SOTU: Obama wants government power consolidated under Executive Branch:

“The executive branch also needs to change. Too often, it’s inefficient, outdated and remote. That’s why I’ve asked this Congress to grant me the authority to consolidate the federal bureaucracy so that our Government is leaner, quicker, and more responsive to the needs of the American people.” Barak Obama SOTU

Obama’s saying he wants to make the executive much leaner by asking for more power. Isn’t that odd? Listen to the pitch: I need more power in the executive branch so we can have leaner government. Who the hell believes giving more power to one person is going to give you a leaner government?

      • http://yahoo.com ted

ur right on freedom but there are still people backing him for their free money, free lunches, free medical, food stamps, welfare. unemployment, housing. what would we do if we all decided to stay home and screw work. then they wouldnt know what to do. oh yea obama could have the federal reserve print more money so we could go further in depth.throw it on are kids back to try and figure it out. we need to all get behind newt and put a good whooping on obama in the fall.

      • Old Henry

Yep ted, it’s “the Chi Ka Go way” only on a national scale. The really sad part…. people outside of Chi Ka Go fall for it and suck it up. It’s the result of decades of dumbing-down brain-washing in the skrewal system and the media. The populace as a whole, or should that be hole, is no longer capable of any sort of critical thinking.
