BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., Jan. 25 (UPI) — Police in Florida said a woman reported her purse was stolen from the back of a restaurant toilet when another woman reached over from a neighboring stall.
The woman told Boynton Beach police she was using the restroom at Two Georges restaurant just prior to 8 p.m. Tuesday and a woman reached over from the next stall and grabbed her purse from the back of the toilet, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Wednesday.
Police said the purse contained a cellphone, $500 cash, a $2,000 check, check books and credit cards.
Investigators said a man and a woman were seen fleeing the area on bicycles and a man was later apprehended when he was found to be in possession of the stolen purse. Police did not reveal the suspect’s name or whether the contents of the purse were intact.
