Everyone has skeletons of some sort, as we are humans with egos. We can all improve the way we live our lives, regardless of our individual religion/belief system or our politics. I believe that principles matter in government. Maybe the best question to ask any potential candidate is: “Would you be willing to serve as an unpaid volunteer, and donate 1/2 of your future gross income to legitimate charities, for the priveledge of being The President.” I bet most would jump ship. To Newt, want to see what despicable is, just look at yourself and the decisions you have made in your life. You do not uphold your oaths not only to the wives you have but also your actions as Speaker of the House and it was so bad you was removed from the Speaker position. You claim you are a historian but we know it is the same as a lobbist so you lie when you claim otherwise. You are a fake, the one true fact you can claim. Voters should wake up and see a snake for what a snake is, Newt is not responsible enough to handle office of President of the United States.

It doesn’t matter who you voted for 3 years ago, we knew this country couldn’t be Fixed in four years . And now it can’t be fixed in 20 and if Obama gets another 4 years it will not be fixable !

I think it was a GREAT way to start the debate! You absolutely should be able to call a presidential candidate out on his hypocrisy and ask a question regarding his character. Who wants to vote for a slimeball hypocrite like that? CERTAINLY not me!!!!

In terms of the overall health of our body politic, the poison of Newt Gingrich is not that he is a liar, a con-man, a hypocrite, and a moral degenerate. He is all of these things and more. The real poison is his self-serving and intentional cynicism which labels anyone who stands in his way or disagrees with him as evil, UN-American, and unpatriotic. He injected his highly toxic virus into our political mainstream in 1994, and it has festered there ever since. I give you many of the writers on this sight who too quickly fall prey to Newt’s disease. Just because we may disagree with a person’s point of view, be it liberal or conservative, is no reason to go beyond the policy difference and drum that person out of the human race.

Ron Paul is none of these things, and even though I have differences with some of his policy positions, I respect him. I can’t say that about any of the other participants in this Republican clown show, and especially Newt Gingrich. It is so easy to criticize from the cheap seats and not have any responsibility or accountability for governing. It is quite another to be competent to govern. Newt is not, and the American people will demonstrate that I am sure.

candidates. Now we have
Rinos, and wanna be Rinos, with a questionable
third. So it looks like we are ‘settling’, selling

Some people say character doesn’t matter however that is totally untrue. Character, along with honor and justice are the mainstay of being a conservative. We should not justify this hipocrit of a person making decisions for our nation, without the slightest remorse for his actions. The ends can never justify the means.

Were Newt- or most of the others- running for Pope or the head of some religious organization I’d say look elsewhere. He is not, though, and so thank God (so to speak) for the separation of Church and State! Many great leaders have had some serious character flaws, but in spite of them rose to the occasion when their country needed them. Moral fortitude is an admirable quality, but if not present at every turn in life can be acquired, if the desire and commitment to do so is strong enough. At least he has admitted his errors, unlike so many others who continue to be in a state of denial. For this election, whether or not this has happened to Newt is for the voters to decide. Putting that issue aside, the remaining question for us all is whether he now has the experience and strength of character to stand up to a largely corrupt Congress and overbearing bureaucracy- one he knows so well, far more than the other candidates (including the President)in order to exert enough persuasive leadership to get out country out of its current mess. With a narrowing field amongst Republican candidates I hope the continuing primary election process will make the real alternatives left to us much clearer.

The hypocrisy of politics is astounding, “the least wide awake of children recognizes it and is revolted by it(Tolstoy)”, yet “the true hypocrite is the one who ceases to perceive his deception, the one who lies with sincerity( Gide)”

The question is not whether Newt has harbored thoughts about three-ways, the question should be, for a person who has been caught “purposefully lying to the Congressional Ethics Committee” why is he even a consideration, in not just the Presidential race but any political position? Why isn’t he in jail?

Newt is the sounding bell of the new UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, although it
is way more cracked than the liberty bell. Way does the ‘system’ even entertain his presence? Does no one see through his double talk.
When asked “… would you like to …. respond to that?”, his immediate response is “No, but i will,” why not ” yes, but i won’t”? Is that a better reply?
Why blame the media? Why is it that ” that ‘the media’, make it ‘harder to attract decent people to run for public office” . What does that statement imply?
Politics is harder because the media ask the hard questions? Or is politics harder because there are none left that are decent? That the difficultly in politics is not in getting the best to lead, but getting the least corrupt of an increasingly more openly festering bunch of really evil disgusting humans?

I don’t have proof of the next thing i’m about to say but it seems to me there was a time in American when, if your marriage failed, it put into question your ability to even do a menial job.

Does three failed marriages ( a marriage to a person who is significantly younger and prettier might
be construed as having already failed, if it was entered into for the express purpose of being seen as
being PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL at best and just SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE at worst), sorta reminds one
of the game of baseball( maybe if he gets elected he can have the rules changed to, “three strikes you win”)

How about a conversion from one religion Lutherism to catholicism, at face value a simple thing, a simple social statement (political and religious at the same time, kill two birds with one stone) at best, a divine right at worst ( i could see this individual fantasizing about a crown slowly, but snugly being fitted to his fat head).
But the blatantly poor choice to “go back to, the very origin, from which the present has revolted against” (for those of you ignorant in religious matters, the Lutheran church rose out of the ashes of the dark ages in europe, escaping the bloody tyranny of the catholic church…. i exaggerate the last bit, sorta, but Luther did for many what should have hopefully remained forever, in the minds of all humans, separating the concept of GOD and the concept of MONEY (politics?)

Back to the NEWT, if ‘stepping backward’, is this person’s modus operandi, in religion, would the natural extension, in the politics of the USA, be to join the 50 states with the mother land and once again come under the reign of the sovereign monarch of the British Isles?
Maybe that’s the great wish of all evil men of power, that a perpetual state of purgatory is essential in the absolute control of the masses, aways never paying enough tax, because there are aways bigger wars to fight, making sure the flow of wealth is only in one direction, making sure that the message is that “you are just one more indulgence away from the glory of god” …… you small minded children.

ps i’m only going to hint at the absurdity of the juxtaposition of the “Office of the President of the USA” and the given name “Newt”…… and also ask, is a “Mitt” , really any better?

The issue of whatever Newt did or didn’t do in the past is irrelevant. It goes way beyond that, and the liberals are hoping Americans won’t realize it in their Enquire styled eagerness for juicy crap they can use for gossip. The main point is, this is nothing but an Alinsky strategy that will be practiced on everyone except Obama. Romney may be their favorite at the moment, but maqke no mistake–if they get him as the candidate, they will then set out to destroy him in similar fashion. The reason they want him is because he is already a liberal candidate, and they believe they can portray him as the rich, WallStreet flpflopper, and he has already shown in the debates that he stumbles when confronted with specific facts. America, choose for yourself, and stick to your choice. Read everything you can–not the ancient or current media spin, but hunt up the old records and you will find out what really happened. Read the books written by your candidates and figure out what contradictions exist. And decide who can best save America. Then turn off the blasted TV and refuse to let the media tell you how to think.

I guess I have to ask so what.We love Clinton and he did it while President, lied under oath to the Congress and worse the American People and he is now so important. How many Hollywood people have been married more than once? What about Edwards, the Media People? The past is the past, let it rest, How many times a person has been married does not tell us how they would be a President. Releasing Romneys tax returns will be death blow to all republicans and their no tax increase pledge . What if Romney pays millions in taxes , but rhe percentage of his take home pay is higher than the average Joe’s ? This could finish off the corrupt republicans chances for this election real well .

Notice that the folks who are shocked and dismayed about Newt’s personal life, are the same people who defended that slime ball Clinton for far worse indiscretions.

Transparency has become the issue now that Romney hasn’t released his tax forms for several years and that has been the norm to release such information since his father George released twelve years of income information when he made the presidential run.I believe Romney has a lot to hide and that he is embarrassed or just ashamed of some of his past actions as is Newt with his demand that the Ethics Committee findings not be released.

Something just isn’t right – no one shows at Newt pre-vote speech and wow he wins it or at least that is what we are told. While the opposite was true for Ron Paul.

One theory I have about the ex-wife situation is the media set it up perfectly. First they scrutinize Romney and then Newt – looks like they are on our side right – wrong – they open with the very question to make it look as though they are socking it to him and wham Newt gets his big chance to slam the media – I don’t believe that was an accident. The whole ex-wife issue was to get voters in SC to sympathize with Newt and feel sorry for him and guess what it worked.

Fooled again by MSM – now all of the sudden Newt is surging and the focus is not on what the other issues are with him, but instead a bad marriage to derail you from the other issues.

The feel sorry syndrome – like Herman Cain (nothing against Mr. Cain) but Newt camp saw how effective it was with voters. This is amazing to me. I wish some journalist would pickup on this theory and open it up to public discussion.

This media chair that thought that he or they would target Newt with a outside, smoking hot, fast ball on the first pitch did not expect him to connect and knock it clear out of the park!

It was something to witness and a big turn around for Newt.

Actually Gingrich was the one who said his first wife wasn’t pretty enough or looked like one that could be a president’s wife. In word she was going to be too homely for him in a future campaign for president. The 2nd wife who knows, yes the 3rd wife is blonde and probably can put on the airs of a president’s wife much better than the first two.

That said the first wife was really treated shabbily by Gingrich since she worked to support him through college. She got payback she was going to get when he started dating his future 2nd wife. Wife #2 really should have known better, he had already betrayed wife #1 for her, why did she think he would treat her any different? Wife #3 same goes for her, but then age has a way of mellowing people out, so who knows wife #3 may be there until the bitter end for the Newt. But she also dated him when he was still married to wife #2. Supposedly Newt staffers new about other philandering with other women as well. This coming from a guy who went after Bill Clinton for much the same kind of thing. Kind of ironic huh? Well I see the diehard Newt supporters will support him no matter what his past is/was, just like the Clinton supporters supported him no matter what his past was. So what goes around comes around. Sad that all Americans don’t want something better for the country and their kids than either one of those known philanderers. Sad they put us all through it as well. American is no longer that shining light on a hill. We don’t expect much from our leaders anymore

I have been a divorced person and it’s a very painful experience – I was abused and my 9 year old was about to be abused, so I filed for a divorce from a man who had 3 girlfriends. Two years later I remarried to a godly and honest man. No one wants to talk about a very painful time in their lives. I think John King was off base when he opened the debate with the question, and after that I have very little respect from CNN. I think Mr. Gingrich was correct in his answer to the question. The liberal media think they can take anyone and everyone down – and that’s very unfair. The solution – just don’t watch that station unless there is something on it that you really want to see, and be sure that you don’t do business with those that support the liberal media. The media can be pleasant and nice or they can be snakes – John King and CNN are the latter.

All i can see is that Newt Gingrich is using some of Dr Ron Paul’s lines to get the votes, but I dont believe he really means what he is saying. He dumped his “uglier” wife to hook up with a better looking younger blonde and that might get him more votes from the Hollywood followers set but it dont wash with me. I’m going to repeat myself…YOU CANT WIN THE PRESIDENCY WITH ANYONE OF THE CURRENT CREW, EXCEPT DR RON PAUL. And even if you dont win under Ron Paul…you’ll sure as hell give the voters one hell of an option to think about. PS.
