GOP Race Evolves As South Carolina Draws Near

GOP Race Evolves As South Carolina Draws Near

As Saturday’s primary voting in South Carolina draws near, there have been some shake-ups in the 2012 Republican Presidential race.

When polls indicated that Ron Paul had a chance of a very strong finish in the Iowa caucus that took place earlier this month, many political insiders said that if he did, the results should be disregarded. The results initially showed Mitt Romney beating Rick Santorum by just eight votes and put Paul in third.

However, the Des Moines Register reported on Thursday that after a review of the results by the Iowa GOP, there are “too many holes in the certified totals” from the caucus to know for certain who really won — though Santorum came out 34 votes ahead by the final count. The results remain “unresolved” because GOP officials in the State say the results from eight precincts are missing, never to be recovered and certified, and that they discovered inaccuracies in the results of 131 precincts. The final decision by Iowa GOP officials was to call a “split decision” or “virtual tie” between Romney and Santorum.

Also on Thursday, Rick Perry abandoned his Presidential bid and endorsed the campaign of Newt Gingrich as an alternative to Romney for conservative voters. Political analysts say that it is unclear what weight Perry’s endorsement will carry for Gingrich; the Texas Governor was running last in polls of South Carolina voters before dropping out.

“I believe Newt is a conservative visionary who can transform our country,” Perry said at a press conference in South Carolina. “We have had our differences, which campaigns inevitably bring out. And Newt is not perfect, but who among us is?”

A Rasmussen poll of likely Republican voters in South Carolina conducted on Wednesday showed Gingrich leading in the State with 33 percent favorability.  In second place was establishment favorite Romney taking 31 percent followed by Paul’s 15 percent third-place finish. One-third (31 percent) of the likely voters polled said they could still change their minds before Saturday.

Santorum has reportedly been struggling to make a connection with South Carolina voters, but some political experts say that his Iowa upgrade may help him gain steam as the “anti-Romney” right before the primary. Establishment media have also said that Paul was showing lackluster campaign performance in South Carolina after he left the State last weekend to take a short break from campaigning and then traveled to Washington to vote against a debt-ceiling increase Wednesday.  The Paul campaign says that it expects to do well on Saturday because of its dedicated supporters.

Though many candidates have dropped out of the race, the South Carolina Election Commission said nine candidates (Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Gary Johnson, Paul, Perry, Romney and Santorum) will be listed on the ballot Saturday.

Newt chastising the press for being despicable was hysterical. That guy has zero morals! He runs on his record as speaker, he should run away from it! Google just what went on with his record. Not to mention the hypocrisy of the whole Clinton/Lewis scandal he had the nerve to weigh in on! Everyone loves a loudmouth, tough guy I guess. He’s the furthest thing from a tough guy I’ve seen…He’s a lying weasel and I would trust him as far as I could throw his fat @$$ across the room!

    • APN

Seems to me that you have an issue with MANLY Vigilance? Maybe you should have this conversation with Madison.

  • justme

    To Fred,

You totally spoke for me, and I thank you.

    Ron Paul 2012

    • joe

      Ron Paul 2012

  • http://none R Paul or status quo

Anyone else but Ron Paul will equal peeing in the wind. Ron Paul 2012 APN says newt will have very little to do once elected, that’s not worth a vote to me. To each his own I reckon.

    • APN

Maybe you should go back and re-read my comments. Not sure YOUR interpretation is correct.

Newt is the only candidate that can defeat Obama and it appears to me that this fact is beginning to become VERY obvious.

  • chuckb

when the bolsheviks start calling names you know they are in trouble.
“barry tearing gingrich apart in a debate” that’s funny enough to be heard on saturday nite live. i would be very surprised if barry would show up for a debate.

    • APN

I agree completely! Why do you think the “Elites” have attacked Gingrich from both sides of the isle?

Gingrich will make Obama look like the CHILDISH FOOL he is, JUST LIKE he did the liberal medians, in the last two debates.

      • Jay

Yes APN, and Obama is well prepared to take a hit for the team. The end result is a, win-win for both. Say hello to more wars under a fascist dictatorship!

      • APN

        Ok

  • John Lilleburns ghost

The problem is that Newt Gringrich should have been called to account by a weak moderator. The man is a serial sleazeball dumping his 1st wife because ” she is not attractive enough to be a future presidents and besides she has cancer” Calling on Clinton for his actins whilst f88king the 2nd mistress. So now he is all contrite and pious and states I have made mistakes I have sinned but my new-found god (very convenient) has forgiven me. That might play with you mealy mouthed fairy story believing right wing nut jobs but not with me. The man is a worthless lying hypocrite and in a presidential debate campaign would be ripped to shreads

    • APN

Well John, coming from a mealy mouthed progressive, your comments mean very little to me, and, I will vote for the man who can and will DEFEAT this mealy mouth progressive-marxist fool we currently have in the WH.

His name is Newt Gingrich. The MAN who will lead us out of this progressive nightmare.

      NEWT 2012!

      • Patti

Good for you APN! Wish I could vote with you! God help all those who don’t believe in redemption or feel they are voting for a ‘husband’ in the WH. We need Newt Gingrich more than any words can convey and I pray people wake up.

      • APN

Patti, I agree completely! I’m voting for the man to be my President, not my pastor. I too believe in redemption, if not, I personally would be in serious trouble. In fact, it would NEGATE my beliefs completely.

Given the comments I’ve read on this site, well, so much for the Apostle Paul.

      • Karolyn

As I’ve said before “No Newt is good Newt!!! VERY SCARY!

      • APN

How would you feel about Newt if he decided to legalize drugs or do away with vice crimes? Is this not the primary reason you support RP, or not?

      • http://lamebrained-ideas.blogspot.com C.Davis

Please, tell me, just out of curiosity, do you get paid by the post or by the lie? Or do they just give you red stars or mitzvas, perhaps if your averages for lies exceeds the number of posts? Because I’m starting to suspect that the flatulence you are bestowing all over us on this board is some kind of cry for help for your uncontrollable compulsion to remove any doubt of your unabridged vacuity. While I am not normally a proponent of the psychiatric profession, In your case I would advise you to GET HELP.

      • APN

Cdavis, and you seem to have issues with other folks opinions.

PS> However, I’m still very impressed by your POWER words.

      • APN

By the way Cdavis, did your aforesaid response help your low self-esteem issue?

      • Jay

Personally, I think that C.Davis’s aforementioned response to you, would do wonders for your low self-esteem, should you be but willing to swallow the medicine, that C.Davis so-lovingly offers! And, may i add, at no charge to you. You gotta love pro-bono services!

      • APN

Jay stated: Personally, I think that C.Davis’s aforementioned response to you, would do wonders for your low self-esteem, should you be but willing to swallow the medicine, that C.Davis so-lovingly offers! And, may i add, at no charge to you. You gotta love pro-bono services!

Well Jay, I’ve been accused of a lot of things in my life but never a low self-esteem. Based upon both your’s and Cdavis’s comments, I will leave that issue to the two of you.

I do not require any Pro-bono services from you or anyone else for that matter. I am a free thinking America that does not require nor request assistance from other weak minded people who would “Attempt” to assert their “Foolish” behavior on ME.

      • eddie47d

Too stop all the false flag wars would be my main objective to vote for Ron Paul. We create wars and then get mad when they strike back which only leads to more wars. Then comes the financial drain and more people hating us in the world.

      • joe

        RON PAUL 2012 !!!

      • Jay

APN: His name is Newt Gingrich. The MAN who will lead us out of this progressive nightmare.

Yes, Newt would like to lead us out of this progressive nightmare, and into a Republican, Right-wing, fascist hell! You’re wasting your time here, APN, but knock-yourself-out, if you must.

      • APN

OK, I will. I will also vote for Newt tomorrow, without a doubt.

      • Jay

Are you sure? The reason i ask; You’ve threatened to vote for Newt so many times on this board, that i’m beginning to wonder why; is it Alzheimer’s, or a severe case of cold-feet?

      • http://lamebrained-ideas.blogspot.com C.Davis

Jay, APN(ACORN-pro newt) is crying out for help. I’ve seen this already.
Sometimes a person with a feeble grip on reality, when commanded by his superior to propagate an example of cognitive dissonance, the dissonance begins to resonate after a certain number of repetitions, then the resonance builds until a feedback loop begins to form, then the feedback begins to surge uncontrollably like a Marshall double stack Amp until the victim’s head explodes. Verrry messy. Once this loop propagation begins, you can expect that someone will soon make a very grisly discovery.

      • APN

……and you’re a legend in your own mind.

Great writing skills though, I’m impressed.

      • Jay

        You seem easily rattled, APN!

      • APN

        LMAO!

      • APN

well Jay, I guess I have the same issues you have, given your repetitive comments.

  • Jay

While listening to the National Anthem last night, and just before the second-last line of the Anthem, “And the land of the free”, my television screen froze, and returned to normal just before the last line, “And the home of the brave.” Anyone else experienced the same glitch?

  • Bob Marshall

If Newt Gingrich wins the nomination and eventually the presidency, the Council on Foreign Relations will be grateful to the voters. Israel will get their war with Iran and the Council on Foreign Relations will get their man in the White House.America will see more loved one coming home in body bags and the war debt will increase even more. Corporate America will become more and more wealthy. I guess we have to have wars because if the troops come home there will be no jobs available. Sad state of affairs.

    • APN

All that seems to be in place now by Obama. Newt will have very little to do once elected.

      • APN

        P-U-N implied.

      • Jay

Pun is a word, APN, not an acronym. Silly goose!

      • APN

        Perfectly Understandable, Not….

now who is the silly goose?

      • Jay

Yes, all is in place. Obama has laid out the groundwork for Newt to bring the rattled, and abused masses into a fascist-dictatorship! Are Obama and Newt at odds? Naaw, more like co-conspiritors, two wings of the same fascist-bird.

      • APN

That seems to be a major stretch their Jay, don’t you think?

      • Vic Bailey

NO STRETCH AT ALL. They BOTH work for the same bunch of Socialist, they just have different handlers on their Monkey Chains. They want America to disolve and enter the New World Order. They are Both Liars, Bastards, PIGS, the only difference is that one is a legal candidate and one isn’t! Semper Fi.

      • APN

        Which one???

    • eddie47d

He’ll have plenty of his own wars to contend with if the past is any reflection of what has been done and will be done in the future. Newt won’t be the last President to Wag the Dog.

  • DON THE BRITTON

When Newt saw Obama going around congress he decided if he were President he could ram through all of his crazy ideas. A power hungry politician with a plan to rule the world does that not make you all worm and fuzzy inside? Vote for Newt and rule the world.

    • APN

      OK, I will, tomorrow.

  • Jhay70

I support Ron Paul, the only candidate with any sense. I consider the other three all Republican establishment candidates. Gingrich is arrogant and does not answer directly but always has a lofty in the clouds response of big ideas but no practical solutions. He is not for the common man but is a corporate mouthpiece who will give advantage to big business. People need to remember that his own party kicked him out of the U.S. House of Representatives for laundry list of ethics violations. He cuts corners and tramples on everyone to accomplish his own ends which he considers the only path. He will not compromise and work with anyone for the good of all. I do believe his wife that he wanted her to tolerate an open marriage and maintain his mistress who is his current wife. All this while he was accusing Clinton of his behavior which proves how deceptive he is and how he operates. Wake up and see through all this bull. Santorum is almost as scary and is more concerned about social issues than what is most important. Remember, he supported five increases of the national debt ceiling under Pres. Bush II. Romney is the most ethical besides Ron Paul but doesn’t have a clue how the average American has to operate on a daily basis. I think he could get the economy rolling but am afraid he would get sucked into continuing the war or wars. We should shut down a number of bases in foreign countries, Germany, England and Italy, just to name a few countries. We could save a lot by closing most of those bases. Why are we over in Europe more than 65 years after WWII???? Not necessary to support their economies or have military presence there.

    • APN

I find it very interesting as to how you could state NEWT doesn’t know how to compromise? What did he do as Speaker of the House? Did he not give the GOP a majority in congress for the first time in 40 years? Did he not pull Bill Clinton back to the center and get welfare reform, as well as, four straight years of a balanced budget?

How does someone do this without compromise or negotiating skills? Newt is a lot of things but you seem to be speaking about someone else.

      • Deerinwater

        True! but isn’t compromise bad?

      • APN

Compromise is a necessary thing in Washington, if you want to get our economy/nation working again. That comment does not imply that we compromise our core principles an beliefs. It does however imply that YOU CANNOT get everything that YOU personally want in Washington.

Ask King Obama and see how well this mindset is working out for him. And, even if you ignore the WILL OF THE PEOPLE, and do as he did, by forcing OBAMACARE down our throats, well, it will be repealed in the very near future if the Supreme Court does not strike it down first.

Bottom line, you simply cannot govern without the WILL OF THE PEOPLE and Washington is in the process of learning that fact.

I love MY constitution just as much as anyone on this site, however, this PROGRESSIVE mess of our constitution was not done overnight and will not be fixed overnight nor will it be fixed by ONE man, as in Ron Paul, as many have suggested on this site.

In fact, Ron Paul does not have the communication skills to be President so how will he lead our nation out of this mess? Newt however does have the Presidential SKILLS to lead us out of this mess. After that, WE THE PEOPLE can continually place pressure on those who we elect and send to Washington to move our country back to where our Founders intended it to be, a republic.

      • Fred

Ron Paul communicated very clearly to me. Why you bash him? how much do you get paid to do so?.

      • APN

Fred, I’m just like you…I don’t get paid anything nor are my thoughts controlled by anyone. I’m certain in my mind that Ron Paull is a good man however that has nothing to do with him being electable as President.

      • Jay

There are millions of people who would disagree with you, APN. However, you are entitled to your OPINION!

      • APN

Yep! That is all it is, my opinion. Good to get an ADULT response for a change. I never have had to much patience for the daycare mentality in America.

  • Jean Hayworth

I support Ron Paul, the other three are all Rep est. candidates and I find Newt Gingrich and Santorum very scary and hope everyone stops and really thinks about this in S.C. Newt puts up a real convincing smoke screen and is very devious. I hope people remember that his own party threw him out of the U.S. House of Representatives. for ethics violations. This, he hasn’t changed, he sounds very lofty in his answers but doesn’t get down to details. His head is in the clouds and his own immense ego. My goodness, he is soooo impressed with himself, most scary individual,

    • Buddy

Yes, both Gingrich and Santorum are good “dictator” material. Their support for bombing Iran almost guarantees another war. It’s doubtful that the USA union can survive the effects of another war!

      • APN

Obama will be in a war with Iran before summers end.

    • APN

Well Jean, unlike you, I admire MANLY confidence and do not perceive Newt’s confidence as arrogance.

One thing that I deplore, and have all my life, are those who speak to me in their soft little touchy-feely daycare tones, as if I were a CHILD that needed their assistance in understanding ADULT issues. Those same little twits that crammed this unconstitutional OBAMACARE nanny state bill down our throats.

You would think given the state of the disaster this nation is currently in, people just might start to connect the dots and understand why our country is falling off a cliff.

It’s called Marxist-Feminism and it is in the process of being challenged for the first time in decades. I personally welcome the challenge and it is about time to call out the little hate filled self-appointed dictators, who think THEY know whats best for us “Little Helpless Children”.

Bottom line, get the Marxist-Feminist Daycare mentality out of America and send it back to Europe, where it belongs.

The establishment media domination is coming to an end and no matter how they try, they are no longer influencing the people as they once were. If it weren’t so insulting, it would be laughable how they present their view on the debate. Paul looked like the only adult on the stage and the GOP has made a HUGE mistake with their blatant lack of honesty. As a business owner, I can’t keep up with politics like I should, but I’ve seen enough on the web to know that I won’t be voting for another person with unstable views on the issues. Isn’t that what we are facing already with the 0bama administration? The fact that we don’t know what’s coming next!?! With Paul, it’s easy. He has been clear, consistent and honest all the way. I know where he stands and trust that he will still stand that way tomorrow. Plus, I like the fact that he will start REALLY cutting government spending and its nanny state intrusion efforts. No person is perfect, but out of the four that the GOP is offering, I can only vote for the one that they SEEM to be trying to derail. (Great job GOP!?!)

    • APN

Dave said: The establishment media domination is coming to an end and no matter how they try, they are no longer influencing the people as they once were.

I agree, thanks to Newt Gingrich! He put a stop to that in the last two debates, did he not? This is a MAN that will not be brow beaten by the elite machine. Including Ron Paul and Mitt Romney’s super packs.

Dave said: If it weren’t so insulting, it would be laughable how they present their view on the debate. Paul looked like the only adult on the stage and the GOP has made a HUGE mistake with their blatant lack of honesty.

The only person I saw on the stage that looked like an adult was Newt, not Ron Paul. In fact, most people I have spoken with on this subject perceive him to be silly, not capable of leading.

Dave said: As a business owner, I can’t keep up with politics like I should, but I’ve seen enough on the web to know that I won’t be voting for another person with unstable views on the issues. Isn’t that what we are facing already with the 0bama administration?

There is nothing unstable about Obama’s views whatsoever. He expressed his views on wealth redistribution(Marxism) before the election and he has been pretty darn consistent in moving that agenda forward FROM DAY ONE in the WH.

Dave said: The fact that we don’t know what’s coming next!?! With Paul, it’s easy. He has been clear, consistent and honest all the way. I know where he stands and trust that he will still stand that way tomorrow. Plus, I like the fact that he will start REALLY cutting government spending and its nanny state intrusion efforts.

Maybe, maybe not. Did Dr. Paul build pork barrel spending into bills and then vote against those bills, or not? I think he did AND I perceive that action to be VERY disgusting. It distorts the TRUE record of PORK BARREL spending on his account.

Dave said: No person is perfect, but out of the four that the GOP is offering, I can only vote for the one that they SEEM to be trying to derail. (Great job GOP!?!)

I agree, Newt is not perfect and neither is Ron Paul. Both have baggage and both have issues. IN fact, WE ALL have baggage and there will never be a perfect candidate. My ONLY concern at this point in our history is removing this Chicago thug from the WH and Newt is the only one I see that can get the job done.

Life comes with hard choices sometimes but this ain’t one of them.

    • Fred

He has been clear, consistent and honest all the way. How totally un-political like. Vote Ron Paul.

      • APN

        OK, I’ll vote for Newt.

      • Jay

Ok, I’ll be voting for Ron Paul!

  • LibRep

I hope Santorum drops out of the race next. When he talks, he comes across as being angry that he has to go through the process and seems to be demanding that he be the front-runner. Romney is losing his mojo thanks to the tax return questions and Newt, as intelligent as he is, can’t seem to maintain focus. I mean, what does it say about your competence if you can’t even get on the ballot of your own home state?

Insanity is voting for the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Well, I’m not insane. I’m crazy and I’m voting for the guy they want to portray as crazy – Ron Paul.

    • APN

Newt seems to be pretty darn focused to me! In fact, he seems to be more focused than the remainder of the field combined.

  • old as dirt

I hope South Carolina terminates the last three turkeys and Ron Paul can march into Florida unimpeded. If that happens the lame stream propaganda machine will stop reporting on the Republican primary altogether and go back to sucking on the “messiah’s” toes. When Barry Goldwater won the Republican primary in 64 the RINO machine withheld any support and you can predict with certainty they will treat Ron Paul the same way. Its up to us folks, he will need all the help we can muster. Its our choice to save the republic at the ballot box or later with guns.

    • APN

Newt will win SC and will go on to be our next president.

      • Vic Bailey

        APN,
Does your daddy run a pig farm, is that why you are so in love with NEWT? The P.I.G. pig PIG any way you look at him! Semper Fi.

      • APN

Well Vic, it appears that the VAST majority of we South Carolinians love Newt based upon the election results. Given your logic, I guess we like PIGS.

      • Karolyn

        I guess you’re right!

      • APN

Sounds like a little sour grapes to me Karolyn.

      • libertytrain

I’m not now nor have I ever been a Newt fan. So if that’s sour grapes count me in with Karolyn. Though frankly sour grapes isn’t even close to the right words for what many of us our feeling…

      • Jay

Oink oink, its feeding time, here comes farmer Newt, with more “Pork-Barrel-Spending!”

      • APN

Well Jay, we can see who has the most Pork, Paul or Newt.

      • APN

Well Karolyn, you could always go back up north where things are just wonderful or is there a reason you moved here?

      • Karolyn

Only being brought here with a partner of 15 years because of cheap property, APN, to be ultimately left to my own devices with nothing and no prospects. However, I have made my bed and am lying in it better than anyone might expect for a woman of 65.

      • APN

Now I respect that comment, good luck with your future endeavors.

      • libertytrain

I have faith in your abilities.

    • Karolyn

I live in SC and my friends and I are doing our part by voting RP!! I hope there are enough smart people in SC to get the job done!

      • APN

Smart people will vote for Newt, not RP.

    • Fred

If the republicans won’t nominate Ron Paul they deserve to be removed from office.

      • APN

        Makes sense to me????

      • Vic Bailey

Ron Paul or NOT AT ALL, Ron Paul WILL SAVE US ALL! Any way you look at it HE is the right MAN for the job, He’s not a monkey on the ELITISTS chain! He is for the people, not for the Constitution killing BASTARDS! Semper Fi.

      • APN

I choose NOT AT ALL and most of us in SC made the same decision.

  • Lynne

I invested in the Ron Paul 2012 website’s store yesterday and will soon become a walking advertisement for him. Write his name in if we must in the general election. Ron Paul 2012!

    • APN

Yep and get Obama re-elected for sure. Makes sense to me!

      • Fred

If it was a fight between Ron Paul and incumbent Obummer Ron Paul would get 75% of the popular vote. Obummer does not stand a chance against Ron Paul. The other candidates the press is pushing, can be beat by Obummer easily. The press is spreading the thought that a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obummer. Why is the press trying to get us to vote how they want?. If the press can get Romney or Ginrich as the nominee then Obummer will win again. Think or let the government think for you.

      • APN

Again, makes sense to me! That is why the liberal media is attacking NEWT, relentlessly, correct? Or have I missed something here?

      • Jay

Yes APN, you have missed something. The exit!

      • APN

Did I hit another nerve Jay?

      • Jay

Was that you’re intention all-along? Silly me, i initially assumed you were here to educate us!

      • APN

Well Jay, I would think YOU would be the one to enlighten us in your “Euphoric” mindset, correct?

  • Patriot Diva

This South Carolinian is voting for Ron Paul in the primary. Newt Gingrich is a serial adulterer, a New World Order puppet, a member of the globalist Council on Foreign Relations. Romney is the father of socialized medicine, and was for abortion before he was against it. Santorum voted to raise the debt ceiling 5 times and supported Arlen Spector over a tea party candidate for senate. And they try to call Ron Paul crazy.

    • Lastmanstanding

Atta girl PD…you are using moral common sense and it sounds as if you are doing your own vetting. More should do the same.

The internet is an valuable tool to find whatever one wants…and it doesn’t take a genius to use it. That is why they want to shut sites down…because the sites they will can are the ones that provide the info of what they are/have been up to for years.

Google…politicians killed in plane crashes (and spend a few hours checking that one out)…one will most likely never vote republican or democrat ever again…

Ron Paul 2012…so our kids and grandkids have a chance.

      • Mushin

Yeah, and while your at it, look at the plane-load of fella’s who were going to testify against the Clointoins. Funny how those plane’s malfunction when your about to testify against someone who’s connected, then it explodes and crashes in a remote wilderness…..?

    • Mushin

      Wow! My kinda woman!

    • Janice Nelson

      You give me hope

    • APN

T Patriot Diva, When you find this perfect little sin free candidate that can put together a coherent statement that the folks can understand, let us know. Until then, Newt will get my vote, and at my last local grassroots group discussion, he will get ALL their votes too.

Like it or not, Newt is the only man that can defeat Obama in November and get this country back on track, and personally, I could care less what some X-Wife has to say about their personal affairs.

I can assure you that it is nothing more than a he said she said bunch of useless baloney for the sole purpose of getting the voters sidetracked from the REAL issues at hand. All of us clearly understand at this point that women are just as guilty in the failure of a marriage as men are. Who do you think these men are running around with anyway? What was HER name in the WH with ole Bubby?????

    • Fred

That “they” lie about Ron Paul so much should give you a clue. They don’t want Ron Paul representing the will of the people. 50% of the citizens of this country want pot legalized, want the failed drug war ended. Does our representative government even hear us 50%ers? NO. They tell us how to think. Tottally wrong. We tell them what to do not the opposite as it is now. I saw Romney tell a disabled Vet that even if pot helps him too bad. How cold is he? If the pill makes you sick too bad. Go to Utube and see the video of Romney blowing a disabled vet off, and turning his back on him. Says a lot about Romney. So find the video.

      • APN

We all understand Fred, it is all about the legalization of pot.

We get it and have for quite some time now. In addition, we all understand that libertarians do not believe in vice crimes or anything that would impose on THEIR right to do just exactly as they please regardless of the consequences to society as a whole.

        Got it!

      • Jay

You are a control-freak, APN. We get it!

      • APN

        Touched a nerve?

      • Jay

Hardly, but you did expose your true-self. Yikes, no wonder you love Newt! Zieg hail!

      • APN

Light you up another one Jay and relax, all will be fine.

  • Mushin

Perry said “We have had our differences, which campaigns inevitably bring out. And Newt is not perfect, but who among us is?” …..WHO IS HE TRYING TO B*LLSH*T?!

GINGRICH IS A LYING, CONSTITUTIONAL OATH BREAKING, BOOT-LICKING SHILL.

Ron Paul may (and I say “may”) be a closet loving elitist (wasn’t Obama?), however his record speaks otherwise. How could anyone consider voting for anyone else under the terrible condition our country and the world is in?!

    • Airangel

I think Newt has changed and despite how you feel personally, he did run a surplus and balanced the budget 4 years and created millions of jobs which just may sound really good to an impoverished, downward spiraling nation….WOW the concept of earning your own paycheck, learning responsibility, gaining independence and skills to propel you forward in life, he would nix Obamas 45 Czars that were appointed bypassing legislation….I think his experience in all facets of Government is just what this country needs…we can’t afford another “on-the-job training” President and I do believe he is in the right place now.

      • Mushin

Angel – like all the rest of them Gingrich will promise the world and then burn the people by forgetting every promise he ever made.

Knowing Constitutional history as I do, the truth about fiat money v.s. sound money (gold/gold backed money), the CFR/U.N. etc, etc, I’ll stay with the guy who’s been saying the same thing for the last 40 years….Dr. Ron Paul.

      • APN

….and you will lose the election so their will be NOTHING gained back towards our goal of FREEDOM.

      • Average Joe

        APN,
You do realize that your statement is nothing more than an opinion (yours and yours alone)…and that quite probably, you are the one who is doing nothing to regain our once great nation? Could it be that it is you who will cause us to lose the election to Barrack Obama ( because of your lack of due dilligence in vetting all of the candidates properly)? While it is wonderful that you have such a high opinion of those of us who don’t agree with your thought processes….guess what?…We feel the same way about you…deal with it and move along. You are free to cast your vote for anyone you choose…and so dare the rest of us. Go to the booth and cast your vote…and stop worrying about who the rest of us are voting for….it doesn’t concern you. BTW, I’ll be nullifying your vote…with my vote for Ron Paul….sorry for your luck.

      • APN

Good for you Average Joe. Why don’t you give us the methodology you used in nullifying my vote. Or is this a statement based upon your average intelligence?

Due diligence my friend is something that works both ways, including MY due diligence concerning Ron Paul. You seem to think you have a superior due diligence process? Maybe you should spend a little more time researching things before you make these type comments?

If Ron Paul is a superior candidate with leadership ability, then why hasn’t his message accomplished anything in about 100 years of service via the congress? You think maybe he is a Washington insider by now? You think maybe he is an “Elitist”? Where did he get all this money to run attack ads against Newt? Why hasn’t he run any attack ads against Romney?

In addition, why is it that Ron Paul builds PORK in a Bill and then votes against that Bill? Did your due diligence process detect that fact or did you average intelligence miss out on that fact?

In fact, why don’t you list our for us the BILLIONS in pork barrel spending that went to HIS constituents. Now, his voting record will indicate HE WAS AGAINST PORK BARREL SPENDING, however, the result is the same! My GRANDCHILDREN still owe this money….period!!!!

        How clever!

      • http://lamebrained-ideas.blogspot.com C.Davis

Average Joe, my advice to you would to save your breath for someone capable of respect for anyone else. As his hero and many others who posess a certain feral intelligence, he (she?) has a proclivity for grossly overestimating their level of development relative to others. This type of person is inevitably oblivious to the advantages inherent in the cultivation of wisdom. Now if you will allow me , I will attempt to educate this APN person about the so-called earmark issue. Please wish me luck,I am sure I will need it.
The universally decried corruption of the legislature means that many harmful, wasteful bills introduced in congress for passage require the behind-the-scenes wrangling of these corrupt congressmen, which they describe as arm twisting, but is really nothing more than bribery. Since they know they can’t bribe Ron Paul, he is excluded from this “arm twisting” activity. As a bonus for these “arm twisters” they are able to also exclude Dr Paul’s district from representation, thereby nescessitating that Dr. Paul attach appropriation riders to the bad bills in order to obtain representation for his district, which is his job.
Unfortunately the unscrupulous congressmen who are inclined to hate a better man than themselves, point their fingers at him as if he has done something wrong, though of course he has not.
One particularly corrupt senator even made a point of politicising this issue leading up to the ’08 presidential election, so that he would have something, at least, to attack Dr Paul with since nothing else could be found for this purpose.
That senator was John McCain, who recently co-authored the NDAA. So now the corrupt congress people accuse Paul of “pork barrel spending” in order to obscure the infinitely larger quantities of tax money they’ve pilfered away through their untraceable back room deals.
Then they accuse him of hypocracy when he votes against the bill that he would never have voted for in the first place, ascribing their own motives for doing similar things to doctor Paul, who is only motivated by honor.
Now many either uninformed or intellectually dishonest individuals propagate these innacuracies on the internet and talk radio in order to influence others who are either gullible or likewise intellectually dishonest, in order to disparage the greatest statesman of our time, a man who for 30 years has daily inserted himself into the breech between his beloved republic and the greatest evil to have evolved in the history of mankind. For which I and many others pray for him daily. We do not expect the victims of this evil to understand our devotion to this man and his cause, for they have been damaged by the very beast which they serve. Suffice it to say that while the flame that is the Ron Paul R3VOLUTION burns, liberty has a beacon for the huddled masses.

      • Brogan

        I agree with APN completely

      • http://lamebrained-ideas.blogspot.com C.Davis

If you were not convinced of your perfidy you would reply under your own moniker.

      • Jay

        C.Davis, absolutely exquisite! BRAVO!

      • APN

CDavis said: thereby nescessitating that Dr. Paul attach appropriation riders to the bad bills in order to obtain representation for his district, which is his job.

Thank you for confirming my statement. The end result is the same.

PS> We were impressed with your excessive writing skills.

      • Thinking About

Good post APN, Paul was one of four republican who added earmarks in 2011. He has a record of voting against bills but his earmarks cost just as much. If we are spending too much money as he says then why does he keep piling on the earmarks.

      • APN

Great to see a “Thinker” on this blog. My point exactly!

      • Jay

Hmm, dumb&dumber, APN&TA have put their brains together, yet sadly, are still 1/2 a brain short.

      • Jay

APN: PS> We were impressed with your excessive writing skills.

We? Oh oh, hearing multiple voices APN? Or is it multiple personalities? May i speak to Brogan? LOL!

      • APN

You a little “Touchy” these days, aren’t you?

    • Ted Crawford

Ron Paul is more dangerous for this country than even Obama himself!

      • eddie47d

Most of the Republican field defends the Roman Empire of using foreign intervention to get (take) what they want. They want to conquer through military action to achieve their goals because they don’t have the cajones’ to do it economically. Ron Paul doesn’t endorse that old world attitude.

      • Mike C

        You’re an idiot.

      • Jay

I agree Ted, Ron Paul is, dangerous, but not to this country! Are you quaking in your boots, shill?

      • APN

I agree Ted, no doubt in my mind about it.

    • APN

Mushin said: How could anyone consider voting for anyone else under the terrible condition our country and the world is in?!

EASY! Newt is the best qualified candidate, RP is not. And yes, RP IS an elitist, and NO, he is not a conservative, he is however a libertarian…BIG DIFFERENCE.. I mean I like the guy and I think he has done some good things but I do not think he is the SAVIOR you perceive him to be. He is also unelectable and will lose to Obama in a landslide. Why? Because he cannot communicate…..period!

I would like to see him as the Treasury Secretary under A Newt Presidency. BYE BYE FED!

    • Fred

Ron Paul is the only candidate that is not as flip flopper. We need someone who says what he believes and does what he says. What a difference from the rest of the candidates!!!!!!! on both sides. Actually in all of government it seems you could not find someone more qualified, to REPRESENT THE PEOPLE. He is the only candidate that took a oath to do no damage to his patients. This oath of doctors sets Ron Paul separate from the rest of the poleititians who lie about representing you in government for a living. We need candidates who REALLY will represent the ordinary citizen’s interests.

      • APN

        Good luck with that one!

  • Linda

I love it! I just absolutely love it! Finally! a free state voting block that is UNPREDICTABLE! (Many of us said the liberally bent IOWA and NH voters would pick the MOST RINO of the lot – and they did). The slog fest in SC has been the best thing I’ve seen in politics in a long time – and we (the people) certainly need to see it. And the liberal media crapping themselves because they can’t predict the outcome is just pure entertainment! They look rediculous running around trying to pull gotcha’s on these folks – and the voters aren’t buying it, just don’t care or voting to spite the MSM AND the GOP establishment! Finally – the VOTERS are showing that they’re made of tougher stuff and DON’T tow & vote the party line. I have to admit – I was an independent for 20 years and registered GOP for the 2010 elections because I felt I had to be part of the process after the McCain nomination (I actually voted for Palin). I wonder how many indies and libertarians have swithed to GOP to vote in the primary – like me? I hope this very bumpy ride continues all through the nomination process.

    • APN

VERY well put and it will, trust me. The good folks of SC are not easily fooled and we vet our candidates. I think last night was a very revealing indication of that fact.

    • Karolyn

This S. Carolinian and a bunch of people I know are all voting for Paul!

      • APN

You are a transplant from Pennsylvania not a South Carolinian. Given that, I would think you would be voting for Rick Santorum.

      • libertytrain

        she’s new jersey transplanted

      • Fred

a bunch of people I know are all voting for Paul! NO MATTER WHO GETS THE NOMINATION. THINK ABOUT IT.

      • APN

OK……….I’ve thought about it……..I’m still voting for Newt.

      • Jay

OK……I’ve thought about it………I won’t be voting for Newt!

      • APN

Good for you Jay, I respect that.

  • Deerinwater

WoW! Newt may not have appreciated his lead off question and I surely don’t blame him but he knocked it out of the park with his strong response. That is the kind of fire people are looking for in a President. If he could just be consist and control all this fire and not be some self-serving with the camera is turned off.

    • Airangel

I believe Newt has changed after 14 years…lets face it, when you’re in a miserable marriage you aren’t your best because life sucks…He was meant to be with Callista where he has been all this time, he has the passion, the history, the experience and the conviction to beat Obama – however I will vote for whomoever is the contender because I can’t stand Obama….I read Newts book “Reflections on the Role of Faith in Our Nation’s History and Future”..I believe he is in the right place in life and his grandbaby had a lot to d with it…I like RP and would like to see him over the financial sector but as for debating with fire and convcition to beat OB – I choose Newt

      • Ted Crawford

While I find no excuse, never having looked, for Newts treatment of Marianne, the re-election of Clinton, after his antics were well known, indicates that sexual and marital misconduct isn’t a factor in Presidential politics. Or is that just for Progressive politicians?

      • APN

Same thinking HERE Airangel. Logical thinking is hard to guard.

    • APN

I think Newt is the most capable and consistent candidate we have to DEFEAT Obama in November.

      • Vic Bailey

NEWT is a P.I.G. pig PIG, any way you look at him, the draft dodging SOB, Hot check writing BASTARD that left his first wife and girls to starve in GA and left for Washington, if he wouldn’t take care of his own kids what makes you think he cares about yours? He is a sorry wasted piece of human flesh. Semper Fi.

      • APN

Why don’t you tell us how you really feel.

      • Jay

He just did. HELLO, anybody home?

      • APN

Yep, I’m right here. What’s the question?

    • Jay

I suspect, Deerinwater, that the exchange between Newt and King regarding Newt’s extra marital affairs, was all staged. And this, for the purpose, as you said, to make Newt appear as a take-charge, type of leader! I could be wrong, and if i am, then Mr. King has got to be the world’s biggest MORON!!!

      • APN

I would definitely say the later. This was no more staged than the Juan Williams event. You would think at this point that these left-wing clowns would understand who they are dealing with. A very capable leader WHO IS NOT AFRAID and WILL NOT be brow beaten by the LW Marxist media.

This is the PRIMARY reason I will be voting for Newt tomorrow. I look forward to seeing him “School” this kid we have in the WH, come November.

      • Deerinwater

Oh! I think you can carry it to the bank, that these “Left wing clowns” as you call them have read Newt mail and know exactly who they are dealing with.

While I would agree with you, hands down Newt is the Master of Destroyer on the debating floor, he weights in on an Obama fight seriously compromised. He’s got a tough jaw and a hard head, but he flusters quick, quick to anger with weak knees and lead feet. He can’t dance on his feet but only in his mind and carrying tons of baggage.

And besides all of that, Newt is a snake that asking you to pick him up with his promise, not to bite.

When he bites you, he will tell you; It your fault, you knew I was a snake.

      • Jay

        Amen, Deerinwater!

      • APN

Thanks for giving us a very descriptive definition of YOUR King Obama.

      • Jay

Wow folks, here’s something interesting i happened upon. Probably too outrageous to be considered, right?

Mulatto Barry Davis Soetoro Obama is a 32nd Degree Prince Hall Rite Freemason, a Socialist-Communist and a Muslim. He is also an asset of the Black Pope’s Central Intelligence Agency.

Overseen by “the Company’s” DCI, White Roman Catholic Jesuit-trained Knight of Malta Leon Panetta, and directed by his immediate adviser, White Roman Catholic Jesuit-trained Vice President Joe Biden, Mulatto President Obama is the willing tool being employed by the Order to outrage and thus polarize all Whites via executive high crimes and misdemeanors.

Once the polarization is complete, key agents within the Order’s “New Right” Fox News Network and Council for National Policy are to then lead America’s persecuted Whites into supporting a Right-Wing Fascist Military Dictatorship. As was done in apostate, Reformation Bible-rejecting, White Protestant Germany following World War I (the Order using its terrorizing and murderous Masonic Jewish Communists in both Roman Catholic Bavaria and Protestant Prussia to unite all Germans so as to justify the creation of Roman Catholic Himmler’s SS in Bavaria and apostate Lutheran Protestant Goering’s Gestapo in Prussia thus empowering the Papacy to impose Jesuit Fascism under Roman Catholic Austrian Adolf Hitler), so it is to be here in apostate White Protestant America.

This is the Hegelian Dialectic employed by the military Company of Jesus when attacking a historically White Protestant nation in which resides a large Jewish population targeted for destruction.

On “the left” are the “liberal” (Democratic and race-mixed) Fabian Socialist-Communists openly backed by notorious Masonic Jews and Jesuits.

On “the right” are the “conservative” (Republican and generally racially White) Roman Socialist-Fascists openly backed by notorious Roman Catholic Knights of Malta and select Freemasons.

Barry has notable Papal Court Jews within his administration who can be blamed for his radical, socialist-communist agenda—as decreed by Barry’s White Papal Masters. At this very moment, Obama is planning to sign an “executive order” granting citizenship to over 40 million Mexican/Latino Roman Catholic Alien Invaders—at the behest of the American Jesuit Conference advising the Pope’s American Roman Hierarchy.

At the same time, retired Army Major General Paul Vallely, affiliated with both Fox News and the Council for National Policy, is calling for the resignation of President Obama to the delight of the righteously outraged, socially raped, financially pillaged and plundered White people of America, many of whom are participating in the Jesuit-directed Tea Party Movement.

All that is needed is an “incident,” an “event,” and the entire Republican Fascist Machine will be thrown into high gear.

That event could be the sinking of an Aircraft Carrier in the Persian Gulf—blamed on Obama; a massive explosion in the Gulf of Mexico due to the Vatican’s controlled and secretive oil fiasco—blamed on Obama; the destruction of a national monument, like the Statue of Liberty, Capitol Building or White House—blamed on Obama; or even the assassination of President Obama himself, more specifically the public killing of his cloned double via the Black Hand of Rome’s CIA/FBI/NSA.

        http://www.vaticanassassins.org/2010/06/cia-assets-obama-manning-justifying-a-coup-detatwhite-fascist-dictatorship/

      • Thinking About

You are misinformed or just spewing words of discontent. You post contradicts itself, but having heard Obama declare his belief in Jesus Christ then he could be a mason and not Muslim. I suspect you was denied access to Masonic order or was kicked out because of your life’s decisions. Now you need to take your Muslim beliefs and spend some time rethinking your life or at least start arriving at the truth for it shall set you free.

      • Jay

Ohh, so close TA. That was almost a coherent retort, almost!

      • APN

TA….Discontent and confusion seems to be Jay’s primary assets.

      • Fred

IT ALL HAPPENS ON A STAGE WHERE “PLAYS” ARE PERFORMED, AND OTHER MAGIC SHOWS.

    • http://lamebrained-ideas.blogspot.com C.Davis

Why should he feel one way or the other about a line out of the script. The moderator read his line and then Leroy read his lines. what’s with the drama? Am I the only one who can recognize political theatre when they see it? The whole ex wife and daughters thing was all a hoax.Leroy had to find some way of disguising his atrocious behavior so him and Rove dreamed up the whole narrative. Once again they have created our reality for us. Now every time anyone mentions his indiscretions he can cite the “liberal media” canard at them as a way of deflecting legitimate criticism. Kind of like the old anti-semitism trick.

      • APN

Wow, what a complex conspiracy theory you have! Let me get this straight, a very liberal moderator from a marxist leaning network, conspired with Rove to set the stage for Newt to make both the moderator and the marxist network look like the bumbling fools they are.

        Makes sense to me!

      • Jay

C.Davis, BULLS EYE! Now, replace Obama with Newt, in your above stellar deduction, and APN, would have most certainly concurred!

      • Jay

Should have stated; Newt with Obama.

      • APN

Yep, and confusion appears to be your primary asset.

  • Sirian

It was a very good debate last night especially Gingrich setting the moderator straight, in a very forceful manner indeed. If that didn’t raise a hoopla of standing applause. Throughout the debate though it was quite obvious as to the limited number of questions that were directed to RP. The primary amount of time was held and used by the other three. This primary will be very interesting to watch and see who comes out on top – predetermined establishment candidate or one of the other three? We’ll have to sit back, watch and enjoy some popcorn. . . :)

    • Vigilannie

Gingrich has a knack for coming out and ‘saying’ what he knows people want to hear at the time….BUT HE’S A BIG FAT PHONY.

      • Sirian

Oh yes, Vigilannie, I know that and agree but you have to admit, it was funny how he eliminated CNN’s attempt to bring that out right off the bat. There are volumes of issues at hand that are levels upon levels more important than what Gingrich’s ex has to say. Gingrich is a well disguised Progressive Republican that so many people don’t see.

      • APN

Baloney! Newt is no more a progressive than Ron Paul is. Newt has just separated himself from the pack and Saturday will reflect that fact. PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR BOLD IDEAS AND BOLD LEADERSHIP.

I’ve said it from the beginning and will continue to say it, Newt is the only man on the stage that can defeat Obama and nothing else is important at this critical time in our country’s history.

Keep looking for your “perfect” candidate while our country goes down the tube. I’ve been around long enough to clearly understand that those who complain about the speck in their brothers eye has a PLANK in theirs.

Both RP and MR lost my support with their BIG MONEY(SUPER PACKS) attacks on newt. I said it then and will say it again, they will suffer the consequences of their attacks and it will only make Newt stronger in the end. Proof? Who is leading the polls? Who’s message is resonating with the majority of the voters?

Newt can handle anything the left will throw at him in November and last night PROVED that fact.

      • Patti

I agree with you 100% APN! The nation is burning and although Newt is not someone I’d care to invite to dinner I do believe the man has had a conversion not only in his personal life but in how he views the world problems we face & the manner in which our Constitution has been degraded. He won’t ignore Ron Paul supporters re wars & foreign aid. He’s the only one that has half a chance of knocking Obummer off the podium & send him & his minions packing.

      • APN

        Thanks Patti!

      • Janice Nelson

        You got it!!!

      • Janice Nelson

        You Virgina , got it…

      • Janice Nelson

        I mean Vigilannie,

      • APN

You had it right the first time…..

    • Fred

When Ron Paul wins despite everything the media throws at him Then there will be change. Good change for a change. After Obummer all I have is change in my pocket, as gas prices skyrocket. What a TOTAL LOOSER HE TURNED OUT TO BE.

      • APN

He was a looser before he was elected so you get what you pay for.

      • Vic Bailey

NO, you get what the ELITIST pay for! Semper Fi.

      • APN

I would think we ALL get what we pay for. I didn’t vote for the dumb Marxist jackwagon.

      • Jay

APN: I didn’t vote for the dumb Marxist jackwagon.

Finally, one thing we both have in common!

      • APN

Jay, we probably have more in common than you think. We just disagree on who can defeat this Marxist Jackwagon come November.

Regardless if RP wins the nomination or not, he will have major influence in the party going forward. If he doesn’t, well, the GOP is just plain STUPID and will lose the election. Put it this way, RP is MY second choice, not Mitt or Santorum, however, any of the aforesaid will move us back in the right direction, some just quicker than others.

  • http://DoULoveJesus.Wordpress.com Mark Dabney

How dare Ron Paul take time off from informing the people that they have a viable option to “more of the same” to actually do his job!

Isn’t he supposed to just be concerned with furthering his political career like all the rest of the political prostitutes? [Pardon the offense to prostitutes who actually deliver the services they perform - unlike politicians!]

Funny thing how Geri Ryan turned out to be a Borg sent back in time to change the course of history [;-)] after all, had she been a dutiful and obedient wife like Michelle Bachman she would have given in to Sen. Jack Ryan’s request for her to have sex with him openly at the sex club. Jack’s open senate seat allowed Obama the springboard to get into the Oval office to pretend to care about what is best for the American people.

    • APN

Maybe Ron Paul should retire….do you think?

  • Airangel

I am glad the paid for contender “Romney” is not the shoe-in that the GOP establishment wants…they already had him pegged as the primary candidate…this vetting is good…I only wish Obama would have been vetted with the same vigor but he was given a “free” pass and we still don’t know what’s in is “sealed” closet….I will vote for anyone over inexperienced, celebrity wanna-be Obama!

    • Airangel

I also think Newt was right to call-out the liberal Media for what they are…detractors from Obama’s dismal record…

A gallon of regular gasoline the day Obama was inaugurated was $1.79 on average in the U.S. Today that price is $3.59, a 100.6% increase. The number of food stamp recipients has risen since Obama took office from 31,983,716 to 43,200,878, a 35.1% jump. Long term unemployment soared 146.2% during the same 32 month period from 2,600,000 to 6,400,000. Staggering hope and change isn’t it?

American citizens living in poverty have risen 9.5% from 39,800,000 to 43,600,000, and the number of unemployed has jumped almost 25% from 11,616,000 to 14,485,000 as of August 31, 2011. The number of unemployed blacks has risen from 12.6% at the end of George Bush’s term to 15.8% today, a 25.4% increase, and finally, our national debt is up 34.4% from 10.627 trillion to 14,278 trillion *

Keep these figures in mind as we recount the number of firsts for this presidency:

First President to refuse to show a valid birth certificate.
First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner.
First President to have a social security number from a state he has never lived in.
First President to preside over a cut to the credit rating of the United States .
First President to violate the War Powers Act.
First President to be held in contempt of court for illegally obstructing oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico .
First President to defy a Federal Judges court order to cease implementing the Health Care Reform Law.
First President to require all Americans to purchase a product from a third party.
First President to spend a trillion dollars on shovel-ready jobs and later admit there was no such thing as shovel-ready jobs.
First President to abrogate bankruptcy law to turn over control of companies to his union supporters.
First President to by-pass Congress and implement the Dream Act through executive fiat.
First President to order a secret amnesty program that stopped the deportation of illegal immigrants across the U.S. , including those with criminal convictions.
First President to demand a company hand-over $20 billion to one of his political appointees.
First President to terminate Americas ability to put a man in space.
First President to encourage racial discrimination and intimidation at polling places.
First President to have a law signed by an auto-pen without being present.
First President to arbitrarily declare an existing law unconstitutional and refuse to enforce it.
First President to threaten insurance companies if they publicly speak-out on the reasons for their rate increases.
First President to tell a major manufacturing company in which state they are allowed to locate a factory. (Boeing)
First President to file lawsuits against the states he swore an oath to protect (AZ, WI, OH, IN)
First President to withdraw an existing coal permit that had been properly issued years ago.
First President to fire an inspector general of Ameri-corps for catching one of his friends in a corruption case.
First President to appoint 45 Czars to replace elected officials in his office.
First President to golf 73 separate times in his first two and a half years in office.
First President to hide his medical, educational and travel records.
First President to win a Nobel Peace Prize for doing NOTHING to earn it.
First President to coddle American enemies while alienating Americas allies.
First President to publicly bow to Americas enemies while refusing to salute the U.S. Flag.
First President to go on multiple global apology tours.
First President to go on 17 lavish vacations, including date nights and Wednesday evening White House parties for his friends, paid for by the taxpayer.
First President to refuse to wear the U.S. Flag lapel pin.
First President to have 22 personal servants (taxpayer funded) for his wife.
First President to keep a dog trainer on retainer for $102,000.00 a year at taxpayer expense.

Remember that 32 months of Obama White House we the people have accumulated national debt at a rate more than 27 times as fast as during the rest of our nation’s entire history, as the Obama’s plan their next extravagant vacation to the Indonesian Island nation of Bali .

      • John Lilleburns ghost

Wrong its who counts the vote wins

      • APN

That will be a big issue this November. In fact, if Obama can’t buy the election with his BILLIONS, then he will steal the election anyway he can. CHICAGO THUG POLITICS 101!

      • Fred

if they even BOTHER to count the votes. The press has already decided who is going to win and they are programing you to vote as they want. Days weeks and months without TV would be good for this nation. Find truthful news in another place. As the news in this nation work for one political party or the other. None can be believed. All are political party supporters, none are neutral like they are all supposed to be like. All should shrivel up and disappear to be replaced by groups that could tell the truth (both sides) every time they opened their mouth’s to speak. Good luck with that thou….

      • NC

Airangel. as an American you should also keep in mind all the “Worst” and “Worser” of the bush, the crawford cretin, administration. That’s part of our history too and provided the hole that Obama started from.

      • Airangel

I am not excusing Bush but it’s Obamas term and he had 2 years to do something while he held all the cards…he chose to play and do nothing…he not only followed in Bushes path, he went full speed ahead on Fast Forward…This is on him and his lack of leadership, lack of experience, lack of business expertise, lack of military insight and lack of economic dynamics…sorry he is not qualified…he belongs in Hollywood land not leading a super power on the World Stage

      • APN

EXACTLY!!! This is what happens when a FOOLISH peoples DO NOT properly VET their candidates.

      • hsfire

I actually don’t think Obama is that incapable. I think he is calculating and he knows what he is doing. He is purposefully trying to destroy America. He has loyalties to Islam. He is also opening the doors for the Muslim Brotherhood and others who are connected to terrorism. Wonder who all these CZARS are?

      • APN

HSFIRE…….I agree completely and that is my point. I personally know several people who voted for this fraud but they will not make the same mistake twice.

I am not excusing Bush but it’s Obamas term and he had 2 years to do something while he held all the cards.

Response; actually three years and I don’t know where you been for much has been achieved in those three years. But if you don’t know about it or elect to be blind to it, there isn’t much that I can do about it.

The GOP has indeed worked very hard to see nothing has been done and they do actively attempt to sell the notion nothing has been done.

As we enter this forth years, why are they (the GOP) so upset if they have stalled Obamas progress and found him guilty of doing nothing?

I suppose you must feel , I should now list all the many things that been accomplish under 44′s tenure to support my claim.

And I will, just as soon as you support your claim that he hasn’t.

      • Karolyn

Guess what, APN? This obama voter will vote for him again if Ron Paul isn’t nominated!

      • APN

Karolyn, It is your vote to be cast anyway you would like. That it is the beauty of America.

      • TML

Karolyn – Write Ron Paul’s name in, girl…

When it comes to electing a President of this country, in a world in which the lines of left and right are skewered, we can’t allow the media, or any ‘party’ to tell us who we can, or can not, vote for… even for a mere nomination, which is based primarily on televised pseudo-debates run by media.

Not to mention, Ron Paul has not ruled out running as a third Presidential Candidate, so long as the people support and encourage him to do so. But he doesn’t want to think about that as he’s focusing on the task at hand.

Watching Ron Paul for many years… the most fascinating thing I find about him, isn’t even about him… it’s that his entire Campaign is primarily possible from individual donation, support, and dedication of his supporters. Unlike the other Candidates with plenty of corporate sponsors… Ron Paul is there ONLY as a representative of the people, for the people, BY the people. THAT is what scares the opposition.

Should he not get the Republican ‘node’… refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils and vote how you really want to vote. Any other way, is a false choice… an illusion of choice.

      • TML

“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.” – John Quincy Adams

      • eddie47d

Airangel has every right to bring up Obama’s failures and maybe she will attempt to correct some of those problems by voting for Ron Paul. When it comes to the military I would dread having Gingrich,Santorum or Romney elected for we have played war games with that ilk for decades. They are all recycled war mongers who are just as eager for more foreign interventions. There is a Big difference between a strong defense and expansionism or reckless over bloated military spending. Ron Paul sees that and the rest of the pack doesn’t have a clue.

      • APN

Ron Paul appears to be the one that is clueless and the polls reflect that fact.

      • http://comcast the fisherman

Ron Paul maybe clueless but he still has that white sheet over his head

      • Fred

there is nothing wrong with defending the constitution. Have you actually read it? I bet you have not. EDUCATE yourself, now!. Read it cover to cover. and then think long and hard about what is and if it fits with the constitution. It does not!.

      • APN

        Yep! I’ve read it…numerous times!

      • TML

“Ron Paul appears to be the one that is clueless and the polls reflect that fact.”

How do the ‘polls’ reflect that baseless “fact” if his support has only steadily increased throughout these many years?

      • APN

TML….My comment is CURRENT not post event. How is he doing in SC, currently, not post time measure?

      • TML

I’m quite sure such unofficial polls reflect whether or not Ron Paul is “clueless”.

      • APN

Well TML, the polls do in fact indicate that most Americans think RP is clueless when it comes to our National Security.

      • R.L.

You CAN NOT blame Bush for this mess. Although it started while Bush was still in office, the mess we’re in started January 3, 2007. That is when the democrats took over both the house and senate.

      • APN

Yep but Bush set the stage with TARP. Biggest mistake he ever made in his Presidency.

      • NC

Airangel, read carefully! In 2002 before the Republican controlled congress passed the bush rich man tax cuts the Heritage Foundation issued this statement in FAVOR OF THE bush PLAN: “The final results show that the Bush plan would significaly increase the economic growth and family income while SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCING FEDERAL DEBT” end quote’

HOW DID THAT BRILLIANT ADVICE BY THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION TO THE REPUBLICANS PAN OUT???

Conservative think tanks strike again! Are you sure you want to rely real heavily on Heritage Foundation “thinking”??

      • APN

Well maybe we should ask the progressive Marxist-Feminist crowd? I’m sure THEY can fix us up just perfectly. Bottom line, headed off a cliff and too stupid to recognize it.

      • Thinking About

Airangel, in June of 2008 gas was over $4 a gallon so with the combination of Obama being elected and democrat controlled Congress investigating oil companies the price went down and still today average price is not $4. Banks had to be bailed out and car companies had to be bailed out. Ask the people working on the lines of car factories if they would rather be working or unemployed. We have our troops home from Iraq. Bin Laden forgotten by GWB is not with us anymore.

      • APN

…only a progressive could defend a 300% increase in fuel costs and our federal government bailing out a car company run in the ground by a bunch of dope smoking UNION THUGS, at the expense of our grandchildren.

    • c.scamman

Well, I’m not so sure banana-babal-bObama got a FREE pass as you say. Hilary did tarnish his image a bit, but the media certainly was playing softball with them both. That said, McCain has turned out to be quite the anti-Constitutionalist as well, so perhaps we escaped a great calamity. At least with this administration we knew we had to circle the wagons and had some preparation.

  • Jonathan Gems

Actually, the truth is Ron Paul took time off from campaigning in South Carolina to fight to safeguard the American people from UNLIMITED DETENTION WITHOUT TRIAL by contesting Obama’s paranoid and scary National Defense Authorisation Act.

    • Janice Nelson

I am glad you pointed that out. Why is the media not recognizing why Ron Paul left his campaign to introduce legislation to repeal the NDAA. He was trying to protect the citizens from the possibility of military to pick one up and place in indefinite detention without due process possibly not to be heard from again based only on a suspicion. The President can make that decision on his own…The NDAA negates the Constitution. It is a slippery slope that could end badly. Ron Paul recognized this as should everyone in congress. We can not trust who ever we elect as President will not use the powers given in the NDAA as Romney said we should. We need people in office who will protect our constitutional rights for all.. if not than it will be used against the citizens of America eventually.

      • Fred

The press does not want you to vote for Ron Paul. So that is reason enough to vote for him. The press is as crooked as a thief. And just as dirty with bribe money, if not more.

      • APN

Well Fred, if you look at the attacks from the liberal media and the super packs of both Ron Paul and Mitt Romney, well, it appears to me that(ALL THOSE FOLKS), collectively, do not want us to vote for Newt.

That’s just the way I see it.

      • Alex Frazier

I didn’t want to vote for Newt when he was still sitting at 3% in the polls. I know his history. I know his politics. No amount of clever quips in debate are going to change the person he is, and the person he is can be defined by the actions he’s taken. He is everything Hollywood would paint a politician to be. Everything the American people truly despise in a politician. But people are simultaneously blinded by his clever wit.

I’m not. Newt voted for the Patriot Act, and that’s all I need to know about the man. He’s a betrayer of the public trust who violated his oath of office. Rather than being on stage running for president, he should be in prison for his felonious perjury.

      • Fred

Romney can not win against Obummer. Nute can not beat Obummer either. Ron Paul can beat the whole bunch if given fair press, good luck with that.

      • TML

“Newt voted for the Patriot Act, and that’s all I need to know…”

        Here, here!

      • APN

Well Alex, what felonious perjury. Be specific?

      • Jay

Gingrich also admitted that as a student of history, the fact that the Chairman of the Federal Reserve and the Secretary of the Treasury both agreed that the global financial system was on the edge of total failure also caused him to go from opposing T.A.R.P. to favoring its passage. Paul, and Santorum never supported TARP. Big government Newt voting for Big Government bailout? Surprise surprise, keep the pork rolling!
Come on APN, who you trying to kid?

      • APN

Well Jay, I will ask you the same question, what felonious perjury?

Or do you convict others in the same manner that the left does?

        Be specific?

  • Alex Frazier

I was very happy with the debate last night, and the developements. I was glad to hear the audience boo the moderator when he tried the typical media nonsense by ignoring Ron Paul. I was entertained to watch Mitt Romney blow his lead by not being decisive about releasing his tax returns (giving many the impression that he has something to hide). I was pleased to hear Ron Paul lay out the China tariff issue and explain to the nation that the only thing it accomplishes is higher prices for our consumers. And above all else, I was tickled to hear Newt put Romney in his place concerning job creation. The business owner may open the business that creates the jobs, but it is the government that makes the economic and political climate feasible for the entrepreneur to open that business. When the government has bad policy, businesses fail. When it has good policy, businesses thrive. And since the president isn’t going to open a local Staples or Sports Authority, but rather needs to create the climate for such businesses to be opened by free market entrepreneurs, Mitt Romney’s claims to the accomplishments of these businesses is a moot point, and I’ve always thought so.

    • texastwin827

I was very pleased to see how the crowd reacted, when they were about to skip Ron Paul on one of the questions, that the other 3 batted back & forth and rebutted each other, using the time Paul should have had.

While Gingrich is not my choice (Ron Paul is) I also was glad to see him call the moderator on his choice for the first question of the debate. Even though this was a Republican debate, these “news” people, in charge of asking the questions, seem determined to work for the liberal agenda, doing what their politicians can’t do.

Throughout the debate, I think the moderator was “put on notice” by the the crowd that they would not tolerate his BS. It’s not good PR to see a crowd boo the moderator, on a national broadcast. :-) )

      • Old Henry

        texastwin:

I got to wondering about an hour ago if Newt’s ex-wife pruposfully dropped that “bomb” at the time she did in order to get the expected reaction from the media and allow Newt to pummel them as he did in last night’s debate. That allowed Newt to cement in the public’s mind that he is the one to “take it to the enemy” with no holds barred. That created a very good contrast to Romney who is wishy-washy and seems to deflect everything in the debates.

      • APN

Newt will take it to our Marxist enemies from within and WIN.

      • http://lamebrained-ideas.blogspot.com C.Davis

        O. Henry, I feel pretty confident that the whole thing was cooked up by ol’ “Turd Blossom” Karl Rove. The ex wife, the daughters, the Moderator’s question, the hosannahs from Perry and Palin, Everything. The result? Leroy’s indiscretions are forgotten while all the outrage is redirected to the mythical “liberal” media “persecuting” poor repentant “Newt” Now he’s the big GOP hero, once again Rove creates our reality for us. Pure political theater, not even very good theater, but good enough to befuddle the chattering masses. Kind of insulting, if you think about it. And all the players cynically laughing at their victims.

      • APN

Let me get this straight, a very liberal moderator from a Marxist leaning network, conspired with Rove to set the stage for Newt to make both the moderator and the Marxist network look like the bumbling fools they are.

Wow, what a complex conspiracy theory you have!

        Makes sense to me!

      • Old Henry

        C Davis:

That sounds probable, but I don’t think the moderator was “in” on it. Those people are very predictable so I think once they put the first part into play they knew the liberal mdeia would run with it. Once done Newt simply chews them up. They essentially walked right into it.

      • APN

Bottom line, Newt has what it takes to lead and this angers SOME people.

      • Jay

        My sentiments, exactly, Old Henry!

      • Fred

If Ron Paul is not the nominee I will still write him in, no matter who the globalists and the PRESS wants me to support for Republican candidate. I have always voted a STRAIGHT Republican ticket, no matter who is running. Never again!. Fiercely independent now. The republicans should consider how strongly those that support Ron Paul hate the other government insiders that the press is forcing on us. I will NEVER AGAIN vote how the press wants me to, but I will vote the opposite way the press wants me to. I am so embarrassed by how the press acted in the last election!. after the way the press got the prez elected, shameless!. If Ron Paul won’t run on a independent ticket I will STILL give my vote to Ron Paul. Republicans should realize that mistreating Ron Paul in debates will send scores of people to the other side, to the Democrats. A 3 way fight for the presidency is assured if Ron Paul is not the Republican candidate or at least the Vice Prez candidate. Republican planners should note this opinion I have shared. Others feel the same way, and I write for those voting friends of mine also.

      • Patti

Fred…just remember that a vote for anyone other than the GOP nominee IS A VOTE FOR OBAMA! Understand how you feel but the nation cannot afford another 4 yrs of Obummer. There is no perfect party and no perfect man.

      • Fred

I will vote for Ron Paul no matter who is the republican nominee. So consider, that more Republicans will also do the same, and make sure Ron Paul wins the “nod”. Embrace those that support Ron Paul or lose their votes to some one else or a different party. Ron Paul could even be the vice prez nominee and I would vote for him for prez. Use my vote or lose it. Think you republicans, or be removed from office. The rest of the republicans would do good to adopt Ron Paul’s agenda to fix the US or be counted with the big government democrats, who we will be trying to remove from POWER, since they do not REPRESENT us but rather corps.. What is so wrong with Ron Paul? more people need to adopt this defense for the constitution and constitutionally limited FEDERAL POWERS as it was supposed to be. STATES RIGHTS have been trampled for too long. Time for the confederacy to succeed again.

      • APN

Well put Patti and I agree with you completely!

      • Vic Bailey

Just remember this a vote for a Monkey on a chain , is you want a White Bama or a Black Bama? Because if you vote for ANYBODY but Ron Paul, you will be getting the same thing a Socialist in the BIG HOUSE AGAIN! Semper Fi.

      • http://sorgesite.com dag sorge

If Ron Paul doesnt get in, we will get more of the same as before. We need real Change only Ron Paul can give us.

      • Fred

think, why does the media so abuse and ignore Ron Paul? Because they are deathly afraid of him. Why? You figure it out. But there is very good reason not to listen to the media spin on everything. They are bought and paid for and do as their masters want, like good slaves. Destroy America the great from inside. Their masters do not want America to be the shining spot for freedom in this world. Then they have to work harder to enslave the earths population, for their greed, and laziness. If there is no place to escape to freedom, this world will be a very dark place. But hey its your choice. Chose wisely.

      • Old Henry

        Fred:

If Ron Paul is not running a write-in candacy you will most likely invalidate your ballot.

I think we will be better served by voting for Gary Johnson on the Libertarian ticket. That way your votes for the other candidates will be counted.

      • Vic Bailey

HOW can ANY American Citizen VOTE for a SON OF A BITCH, that YOU KNOW, DOESN’T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FAMILY AND COUNTRY!!!! • eddie47d

Newt seemed to duck and cover on his personal life.Although it’s not a major issue in how he treats his wives in comparison to economics you gotta love the hypocrisies. Gingrich is no more morally straight than Clinton yet even he made that a major issue back in the 90′s. I say either bring it on about all or or make it irrelevant for all.

      • APN

DO WHAT EDDIE???? Duck and cover????? You must have watched a different debate last night than I did.

      • Alex Frazier

No. Newt may have blasted the moderator, but recognize that some of that was to take the steam out of the question. By going on the offensive rather than the defensive, he neutralized what was otherwise a serious blemish on his character. He did answer the question, but he didn’t do much in the way of explanation. He just declared it false and offered his personal friends, whom we’ll never meet, as witnesses to the situation.

      • APN

Well maybe you can get into his SOUL and tell us what the real deal is.
I simply do not have those kind of omniscient powers. The fact is, using your logic, their is not a man or woman on this planet that is qualified to run for President, including Ron Paul.

      • eddie47d

I’ve seen many here look into Obama’s SOUL and try and pick him apart. So apparently their crystal ball works in trying to bring up dirt. Gingrich is a chameleon like most politicians so I wasn’t surprised by his bobbing and weaving with his answer. Some would say it was a great power play and some will say it only brings up more questions about what he is hiding. Look how Cain denied accusations and ducked personal questions which only brought more women out of the woodwork.

      • APN

Well Eddie, If you perceived Newt’s response as “Bobbing and Weaving”, well, I’m really not sure just how more candid and direct a person can be, so, your comments are baseless. i.e.; Typical liberal view of things.

Remember Eddie, we did watch the debates, so this is a subject that cannot be rewritten by the LW Marxists.

    Re-elect NO incumbants

    • c.scamman

Skyraider, of course that is every district’s option with our system. Precisely why we do not need to invoke term limits on senators or representatives. I believe that some of the experienced people do have good ideas though and should not be punished just for having served two, four or six years (or longer).

How do you believe a totally new, naive body of legislators would react? Do you think that maybe the lobbyists might have a field day? Or the lawyers serving corporate interests?

There are some small steps that might be taken to revise our system, e.g. no riders on bills that do not explicitly relate to the intent of the legislation; sunset clauses on ALL legislation so that Congress would be so busy reviewing past legislation and bringing it into the existing needs they would have no time to dilly dally about thinking up useless new legislation to pass or requiring all new legislation that requires the expenditure of monies to wait until the following fiscal year to be funded before taking effect. No funding, no legislation.

Painting with a broad brush as you would have us do can lead to some sloppy canvas work.

      • APN

So how would you define the “Artwork” we have now in Washington?
