Chamber Of Commerce Chief Critical Of White House Jobs Agenda

U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Thomas J. Donohue criticized President Barack Obama for a weak election-year economic agenda and costly new regulations during his annual speech on the state of American business, The Washington Times reported.

“An Administration spokesman recently said that there is just one item on the president’s ‘must pass’ legislative program for the year — a further extension of the Social Security payroll-tax holiday,” Donohue said. “With all the challenges facing our economy and our country, it’s inconceivable to me that the President would agree with that — and I trust that he doesn’t. 2012 must not be wasted simply because it’s an election year.”

According to the newspaper, Donohue said the Democrat-controlled Senate should take up some of the legislation passed by the Republican-led House to stimulate economic growth and create jobs. He noted that at least one or two of the proposals would have to be appealing to the Senators.

POLITICO reported that Donohue noted his displeasure with hearing politicians bash the free market, saying that the only way out of the current crisis is to drive economic growth from one end of the country to the other.

He noted that at least one or two of the proposals would have to be appealing to the Senators. It just goes to show you how the GOP works. They get one of their stooges, in this case, U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Thomas J. Donohue, and of course, he doesn’t say anything about the bills put out by the Senate that the GOP controlled House failed to even consider. Their thinking is to keep the American population on the unemployment lines and MAYBE they will not blame the GOP House. But guess what, we are all not that stupid. Real Americans know the GOP is for the rich.

    There is a sure way to drive economic growth and that is to start a new war and we all know that. America was never so prosperous as in wartime. Hundreds of thousands of jobs will be created and the only thing left now is to get the war machine going again. Build those tanks, planes, rockets, guns and bullets and get the people to work, earn some money and all will be well again?

    OK, I was wrong. I admit it. We DO have at least one man or woman who’s a part of this rotting, criminal administration and can THINK. Apparently, all it takes is consistent programming, and lemmings can support and wink at whatever the Poser says or does.
    Then again, when the #1 Poser talks about JOBS but refuses to do anything about it [SCREW those doctored stats], that means HE DOESN’T CARE ABOUT JOBS or the MIDDLE CLASS or AMERICA.
    Shuck and jive, Chicawger-style CRAP doesn’t do SQUAT for JOBS, people. And just so I don’t forget, I need to remind some folks about a small detail that they continue to overlook.

    I continue to be amazed by the excuse that Harry Reid uses for not allowing the various bills and budget proposals, passed by and sent to him by the house, from evn reaching the floor for discussion! He claims “they aren’t jobs bills” and “their budgets don’t address the problems”. If that were in fact the truth, he would with the speed of light rush them to the floor! If, on the other hand, they are really commonsense, pratical, sustainable, long term solutions, …wel he could never, as he clearly intends, allow them to see the light of day!

    This should be proof enough that king oblama does not care about the economy as a “free market” system, king oblamas objective is for the government to control the private industries through massive unconstitutional regulations in order to drive American businesses out of business or drive them under the control of a king.

    Seems like the US Chamber of Commerce is still on the side of UN-accountability and irresponsibility. Heaven forbid if a company has to be a wee bit more responsible for what it does and how it does business. The Chamber of Commerce is a private organization in support of private businesses so naturally they would take the side of the Corporates in blocking any regulations. They might have more credibility if they got the cheats and manipulators out of the Free Markets for then they would make sense.That would also help the honest business owner. Now that would be a more positive agenda for them to be working on in defense of the American consumer.
