U.S., Israel Plan Joint Military Exercise For Next Spring

This spring, thousands of U.S. soldiers will be deployed in Israel to participate in the country’s largest-ever missile defense exercise amid Iran’s push to obtain materials that could be used to develop nuclear weapons.

According to The Jerusalem Post, Lt. Gen. Frank Gorenc, who is in command of the Germany-based U.S. Third Air Force, traveled to Israel late last month to finalize plans for American participation in the drill.

During the drill, the United States will establish command posts in Israel and the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) will establish a command post at the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) headquarters in Germany in an effort to establish a joint task force that could counter large-scale Mideast conflict, according to the article.

The United States is expected to supply Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) and ship-based Aegis ballistic missiles to simulate interception of missiles fired at Israel. The American systems will work in conjunction with Israeli missile defense systems.

    Israel,belonged to the Jews,long before the Palestinians came along.I don’t understand why people can’t understand that.God, was the Title Holder and He gave the Title to the Jews.I believe most Christians understand that but most people are too ignorant to use the Bible to help them clearify the issue.There is this fear of mixing religion and politics.Try using the encyclopedia if you’re afraid of the Bible.God will speak to you from either source.

    AGD……are you distinguishing between the muslim palestinians and the Jewish Palestinians? Palestine being Judah…..the 2 tribes carried off into the Babylonian captivity(under Rehoboam) and the 10 tribes carried off to Assyria 100 yrs prior(under Jeroboam). The land is Palastine and the nation is Israel. the kingdom was divided after the death of Solomon. are you making a distinction between the 2 and recognizing that they are all the same Jewish nation and that they will be brought back into their land by God after He brings them back together. Jeremiah 3:18 ” In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.”

    A key American Christian fundamentalist ideologue is the Texas-based televangelist John Hagee. He is no insignificant crank, although his views are, to put it mildly, wildly outlandish. He is said to be close to
    top leaders of the American Republic Party as well as Israeli intelligence officers and politicians. He is
    the pastor of The Cornerstone Church based in San Antonio, and also heads the multi-million dollar
    Global Evangelism media company that broadcasts his daily programmes on 172 television and 82 radio
    stations throughout the USA and around the world. His fervent appeals to Christian simplicity obviously are not intended to apply to himself: he is said to be one of the wealthiest men in his city, and the trust that he has named after himself, The John Hagee Rabbi Trust, includes among its various assets a ranch
    spread over almost 8000 acres.

    Hagee is one of the principal ideologues of what is called Christian Zionism, which is said to be the fastest growing religious cult in America today. Hagee is known for his fervent support for Israel, for he
    considers this a Biblical duty binding on Christians, and has been opposed to any peace deal that might
    cause Israel to give up back any occupied land to the Palestinians. He works closely with several American and Israeli Jewish groups, and is one of the architects of a Christian evangelical-Zionist alliance. Recently he was in the news for bringing together 400 Christian evangelical leaders, representing as many as 30 million Christians, for a ‘Summit on Israel’, which resulted in the formation of
    a new pro-Israeli lobbying group called Christians United for Israel, which intends to establish a 50-state rapid-response network that aims to reach every senator and congressman in America.

    Those that bless the Jews will be blessed by the almighty God.I hope that the USA continues it policy of supporting the Jewish people from another blood bath as was witnessed almost eighty years ago. I believe the reason we have experienced economic bliss is because of our alligence to Jewish people.     Obama has never been anti-Israel and that is a myth used for political posturing. Ron Paul is not anti-Israel either yet some say the same thing about him. Both men want Israel to thrive but for Israel to realize that there are other countries in that region also. All these other countries feed at the trough too and something has to give to secure our own security and economic stability. This has been a continuous balancing act for 60 years and for many Presidents. I’d like to see us wean ourselves off of all this aid and tell these countries they are on their own. Even when our teat is dried up they still get our military and economic aid.

    It sounds like Obama has come to senses – at least what considers Israel. Two nations with huge differences in square miles but so alike in worldview and disposition that it’s stupid if the Obama-administration don’t regard it. – On the other hand, of course the President has the key election this year in mind.

    This is yet another ploy to keep the military industrial complex ramped up. Our constitution is against military entanglements with other nations. America acts like a big scaredy-cat afraid of our own shadow. Iraq comes to mind. Al-qaeda comes to mind. War on terror comes to mind. Just how many troops and military bases do we need around the world? I’m not talking about main street America, I’m talking about the war mongers/profiteers. 10 years in Afghanistan and 8 years in Iraq all because of 911 and a hand full of terrorist. It’s like using a ton of TNT to kill a fly. Our war momgers are using our young idealistic brave soldiers in a specious patronizing way. I think we need to pull all our troops home to save lives and money but keep improving our military tecnology. Speak softly and carry a big stick!

      Hey Doc,
      I heard the Israeli ambassador interviewed a few weeks back. He said at first Obama had a 10% support from Israelis. Today, President Obama has 70% approval and support.

      Doc, President Obama, like some previous presidents, tried to treat Israel the same as we treat other Middle East nations. He just found out that Israel must be treated more favorably than other nations. Our military exercise with Israeli forces will now make it clear that Israel and the United States are essentially, now, one armed force.
